still not over the national anthem incident yesterday btw because max verstappen throughout his career has constantly been disrespected either by those he has been nothing but friendly and encouraging towards and it pissed me off a great deal that three world championships under his belt later some drivers still don’t respect that he is THE generational talent

can i ask what exactly happend, i turned off before the podium

Crowd started chanting “Lando” during the podium, which in itself is a little disrespectful but nothing we haven’t seen before (ie. chanting Charles during Imola). The national anthem started and Lando put his fist in the air cheering them on/encouraging them DURING the national anthem. Needless to say, Max and George gave him the biggest side eye. A lot of people have also drawn comparisons to Charles’ behaviour during Monza qualifying last year, where the tifosi booed Max and Charles told them off/shook his head.

Lando also went on to blab about how he would’ve won if not for the safety car, which a lot of Max fans were a little ?! about because Max’s skill definitely made the difference during this race. Also Max would have won Miami if not for the safety car, but you didn’t hear him say any of that directly to the press, instead he just praised Lando’s skill.

All in all it’s plain disrespect and immature as hell. I would NOT guess that Lando, George, Charles, and Max all fall within the same two year age range. Also it’s disheartening because this level of entitlement and general non-awareness is nothing new, lest we forget when he broke the Hungarian GP trophy last year (which takes like 4-6 months to make) and he said some pretty dismissive stuff about it forcing McLaren PR to go into overdrive, or him saying that Trump is his lucky charm after his Miami win. I’m sort of done making allowances for some rich asshole’s behaviour, especially because the media seems ready to glorify him. If a non-British driver had pulled that same shit during the national anthem you bet all English-speaking F1 media would be up in arms but no Lando gets a pass because the British are desperate to have a second coming of Lewis Hamilton.

So it's finally official... Daniel Ricciardo leaves RB.

It's not even that this is shocking, but the way they went about it is, as is apparently the norm for F1 in recent years, absolutely horrendous and disrespectful

The middle of the year seat changes can be debated about (even though in this case it really is just ridiculous with 6 races left imo) but the way they go about it is just unnecessary

They start weird rumours and then wait for ages before actually stating anything

At least in this case they didn't ignore the leaving driver completely and focused solely on the new one

But still I find this treatment of drivers absolutely disgusting. Even if you want to exchange them you should still treat them with a modicum of honor and respect. This constant maybe we'll do this maybe not and unnecessary secrecy is idiotic

So a friend of mine had a theory that Georgey was being a two faced bitchy (affectionate-ish) in public, both with the pole position and Red Bull vs Max team dynamic to protect his seat in Mercedes. 

Because he's out of contract next year and if Max shows interest in Merc, Toto is more likely to keep Kimi and trade in George for Max. 

But wouldn't George want stability in Red Bull so Max stays there? So why air out that team's drama and risk Max looking at other options? Because I can name at most 3 drivers a team wouldn't drop to get Max.

I don't think George is doing anything more destabilizing to Red Bull, they've been crumbling for months.

What he is doing is showing that he can and will leverage the media and the stewards room to get his way and set a narrative. Like his way of showing "yes I can be the villain you need me to be for a title fight" (unlike some others this year) Because that is half of it. So I'd say it's more establishing leadership at Merc, and also George is just like that.

Also sometimes Gax just see each other and see red and all "reason" goes out the window and they have to bicker until someone passes out.

You need to read the line to see how that driver is calling the ones in the columns.

Some conclusions :

Lando and Lewis are mostly referenced by their names as his Zhou but that's a specific case.

Checo and Danny have nicknames

Charles went all out on the name/surname combo

Max, Logan, Alex and Estie loves calling the others by their names only

Lando uses surnames unless your his friend, (ex)teammate or Lewis

Oscar uses surnames unless your Max, Lando, Logan or Zhou

George says Lance but Lance says Russell

Nico called George "Georgie" (while saying he has feminine lips...so what you want with that!)

There are many more things to read into this... In a more serious way or with shipping glasses.

the dynamic between charles and the other drivers fascinates me. We notice that despite Charles' personality and his social side, he is very selective with the drivers with whom he interacts and most of whom he ignores. The people he interacts with the most at the moment are Pierre, Max and Lewis. He got closer to Oscar this year (I think the anon is right, the fact that Oscar already has a connection with Arthur helped the interaction and we can see that Charles has taken Oscar under his wing a bit. He does it often with the young people, liam has already said that charles was one of the drivers who helped him the most with max). We know that Charles is close to Georges and Alex too. These are the drivers with whom he interacts the most, he is rather indifferent to the others. what i find fascinating is that max and charles act differently depending on the personality they seem to have. We might expect that it would be Max who would be the most indifferent to others when we can clearly see that he tries to interact with several other drivers, that we see him more often in groups than Charles. While Charles is very selective, he doesn't necessarily seek the presence of others, he really doesn't care 🤣. This is also in the fact that he ignores most of the drivers and teams who interact with him on the networks 🤣. I don't know if I'm expressing my thoughts well but I really have the impression that Charles is very disconnected from others, in the sense that he really doesn't care about what they do or say even when it's about him . For example, I think he is aware that some drivers are very mocking with him or when they talk about him, but I have the impression that the guy doesn't care about them so much that it doesn't matter to him, we have the impression that he prefers letting them think he's a little naive when it's just that he doesn't care. I don't know if I'm expressing what I want to say well, sorry 🤣🤣

i think this could be charles' personal trait, as you can see his inner circle of friends/work team is also very close.

charles is very picky about who he trusts so it could translate to his "colleagues". you have pierre, childhood friend and other french speaking driver on the grid (also, i still stand by what @valyrfia said that charles wouldn't be that close to pierre if he was a better driver with a better car and was an actual threat). lewis, who is his new teammate (so its a game of getting to know someone before you work together, but also establashing good public connection for pr purposes). george (and alex) who are his childhood karting friends. recently oscar, you know the prema arthur connection and i think he has similar mindset to charles so they're quite similar. and then, obviously, max. who seems a bit like an odd one out but i think they hold each other to such high standard that they became close just because of that - they have the same racing mindset and shared history and instead of beefing it out forever they ended up in each other's personal bubble.

with other drivers, charles barely interacts. (carlos has the teammate immunity but watch next year how charles drops him inevitably).

ahaha absolutely!! look oscar puts comfort above all and whilst he gets why other omegas dress up fancy during courting and stuff he’d much rather just lounge around in tshirts and shorts - and assumes the same about everyone else

after the grid have figured out he’s an omega, oscar gets a lot more comfortable in the pack room which is why when he walks into the pack room one day expecting to flop into the nest with everyone else and is hit with half the grid standing in their best outfits to impress him he’s baffled

(i say best outfits but they’re like that meme about everyone getting invites to a different event based on their outfits - max is wearing a white tshirt and jeans which for him is dressed up because he’s ditched the rb tee, Lewis is next to him in an outfit out of an editorial, charles looks like the son of a mafia boss, lando looks like he’s off to play golf with a billionaire, the list goes on)

my man walks right past them all and flops into the nest anyway he is too tired for this shit

(the pack are trying to work out what they’ve done wrong whispering in the corner about it but then oscars scent twinges with discomfort and he sits up, bed head, pupils blown, and grumbling, and suddenly everyone drops the issue and rushes into the nest with him)

I've seen how that man moves on social media and I've seen how he's successfully run an undercover smear campaign against Carlos and Binotto with so many different moving pieces it boggles the human mind and yet no one can trace anything tangible back to him. Also noticing how he reacts to drivers who have supposedly wronged him and those he considers part of his inner circle is fascinating (he toys with Lando like prey sometimes). The true Regina George of the paddock.
