Regarding the current situation with bans in SSO…

Can’t believe I am defending SSE right now but there’s so much misinformations on the Instagram side and especially the TikTok side of the SSO community about the ongoing cheat bans it drives me nuts

“SSO is banning half of their community” what are you talking about, they banned like 0,5% of the active players. “Even ReShade gets you banned” I have used reshade for years I never got banned for it and my account is still up since the update, SSO has already confirmed since years that they fully allow reshade.

Why I was furious about the Buck and Lucy kiss, but Eddie's weird Vertigo-esque cheating storyline with Kim makes sense and, while upsetting to see, doesn't fill me with rage.

It comes down to intent. After Lucy and Buck kissed KR/AK talked about how over the rest of the season we would see them poking/flirting with eachother and "build tension." They marketed as something fun and sexy we were supposed to enjoy. THAT was disgusting. It was done for sex appeal/drama and to eventually break up the boringass disaster that was bucktaylor, which is probably why KR was so sure the storyline would be a big hit and we'd enjoy watching Buck be slowly tempted away from Tkelly all season by the sexy allure of someone more "exciting." It never occurred to her that we actually care how women are treated in relationships whether we like them or not, full stop.

In contrast to the presentation of that (thankfully discarded) "isn't this fun and sexy?" storyline, Eddie's cheating plot is being presented as a genuinely troubling mental health issue, not as some soapy/sexy romp. It's weird and uncomfortable. It's supposed to be weird and uncomfortable. But it fits in with Eddie's larger story arc(s) of unresolved trauma, idealizing what he had with Shannon and the future he imagined, and guilt over what he sees as his failure to provide Christopher with a "mother figure." This storyline isn't trying to tell us that him cheating is sexy or excusable. It's troubling, and his choices are setting him on a crash-course path to finally confront his issues.

In other words KR's creative choices were cheap and unintelligent, whereas Tim's creative choices were nuanced and carefully placed.

Something I kept thinking throughout the fic was how disillusioned Izuku's seems to be with Heroics and Heroes in Bad Miracles. Not in the sense that he doesn't want to be a hero or anything, but more in the sense that it seemed like it's become something more of a JOB to him now. I found the therapy session in the latest chapter really interesting because it made me realize "hey maybe he's not OVER IT as much as he's just being challenged to get out of the Kill Yourself For the Cause mindset"

Izuku is still just as passionate about heroics as he ever was.

However, it's also a job and the funniest thing about jobs is that you start getting extremely nonchalant about the wildest shit because you deal with it daily. For all that he's farming the SHIT out of his dopamine levels with his meticulously crafted schedule to maximize his own productivity, he's also very much gotten used to certain parts of the work to the point he can treat it as a completely uneventful part of his day, like seeing a sale on eggs at the store.

On top of that. Yeah. The therapy has done a large part in keeping him from actively killing himself doing that job. Before Hinata he still wasn't the best at managing his work/life balance but it's hard to be a workaholic when you're keenly aware of the 12 year old who lives in your house and shouldn't be left alone all night because you want to restructure all of your analysis files to better organize the long cases vs cold cases. Having a kid is more effective than Dr. Aruhara ever was at making him clock out on time and run home. This strategy would not work on any other workaholic but between the resentment for his deadbeat father and his own empathy making him a huge crybaby it works wonders for him.

Finished reading Keen-Edge, Silver Blade, and I feel like it made the Silverash timeline way too tight. I was always under impression that Ensia was fairly young when her parents died, and Enciodes took care of his sisters for quite a while. But if you do the math, it was only about a year, and therefore Ensia was almost old enough to be considered an adult by Kjerag's standards.

Break the Ice happens in the end of 1097 (Rhodes Island is en route to Victoria, and there are multiple prayers for the next year throughout BI). We learn there that Mom and Dad Silverash died 15 years ago (1082). But in the manga (set in the autumn of 1089) it is mentioned that Enciodes went to study in Victoria 6 years ago (1083). So this means that Ensia came of age somewhere between 1082 and 1083, and, considering her birthday is the 28th of November, it was probably 1082, the same year her parents died.

You are going to leave Kjerag next year, stop being so dramatic.
