I never thought of this but... But I'm going to suggest, if you hadn't tried The Music Box and Firth of Fifth by Genesis, please take a look. (you appreciate Romantic period music and so on like myself, so I wonder if you'd like them as I do!)

They're both really cool, thank you! I really love the piano intro of firth of fifth. I haven't listened to much genesis before so it's good to have recommendations. I also like that firth of fifth is a pun on firth of forth, which is very dear to my heart

Ace Attorney and SH for fandom asks!

blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): sherlock holmes for both SH and AA, but also phoenix wright for AA

scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): Ryuu for AA I would LOVE to hug him. also I feel a little protective over him. I would say holmes for SH but he's like some old guy, so maybe toby the dog?? or watson

scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): john clay for SH!! seriously this man gets so little attention even though he's supposed to be the fourth smartest man in london according to holmes? gumshoe and gregson for AA, give these detectives some love

glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): tbh both the violets in SH. Hosonaga for AA because he's hot and stupid

poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): gregson and lestrade for SH maybe? I would say they're a bit pathetic?? I can't think of anyone for AA except van zieks, he's not unpopular but he's racist

for the WIP tag game (sorry it took me a bit!)

MermaidAvon is one of the very few absolute, total AUs I’ve planned out - not even remotely canon divergent, just full on Alternate Universe, and basically an A/V that’s exactly what it sounds like. It’s a low priority WIP at the moment, but one I really loved setting up and definitely hope to finish eventually.

“Today’s Special Torture” is another Whumptober one that I interpreted a little more loosely, so I’m not sure what you were imagining, but probably not the actual premise, which is that Avon has a literal sixth sense for interfacing with AI. There isn’t a whole lot to this one yet, so I can’t really share a snippet, but have some mermaid!Avon below.

Vila pulled the last of the net off and avoided the dark fin beating heavily onto the deck. “I’m Vila Restal. What’s your name?”

The merperson was carefully examining their hand – the net had cut into the wrist, but hadn’t broken skin. “Next, doubtless, you will ask whether I’m male or female,” they said, and Vila’s breath caught.

Few humans sounded so caustic and bitter, and it hardly fit with the joyous merpeople he remembered.

“Hey, now, I’m not out to hurt you. What were you doing near my net, anyway?”

The merperson shrugged. They had sounded male, but Vila didn’t dare judge by human standards, and he could hardly ask now.

“Freeing the fish, of course.” They bared their teeth. “These are my hunting grounds.” They gave up on their wrist, propping themselves up on the deck. The dark fin beat again, but it couldn’t move them. “And since you humans are so desperate for gendered pronouns, I prefer he. Now, if you would be so kind…”

Vila nearly obeyed before he had a chance to examine what he had heard. When his mind caught up, he stopped. “Hang on!”

The merman rolled his eyes. “Here we go.”

“You were sabotaging my catches?!”

“My hunting grounds.”

“I need to eat!”

“Then move.”

“Where is your pack?”

“My pack?” His mouth shifted into a sneer, showing off sharp teeth. “I don’t know why I’m surprised. Human, after all.”

“Your family, then,” Vila probed.

The merman tensed, his shoulders stiffening. “I’m done answering questions. Either set me free now or make your intentions clear.”

“Right. Sorry.” Vila took hold of the merman’s arm and hoisted him up onto the railing of his boat, where the merman immediately jerked free, eyes on the sea.

“I can’t move on, you know,” Vila told him and found a baleful glare directed back at him.

“Can’t or won’t?”

“Can’t. I don’t take more than will balance out, I promise. You and everyone else will be fine even with me here. I mean you no harm.”

The merman eyed Vila’s catch, fish struggling on the wet deck. Their breathing was nowhere near as adaptable. “I’ll be the judge of that,” the merman said and with a sharp flick of his fin launched himself back into the water. It wasn’t a smooth dive, but Vila could see him turn under the surface, then he dived through under Vila’s boat and Vila lost sight of him.

For a fandom I had never asked you before? Perhaps? Babylon 5

Ooh, this is tricky, because not only have I not finished Babylon 5 by a long shot, but it’s also been ages since I last watched it. Nevertheless, I shall do my best!

The first character I ever fell in love with: G’Kar, no question about it. It was love at first sight. 

A character that I used to love/like, but now do not: Hm, I cannot think of any I’ve grown to dislike, but I remember becoming slightly bored with John Sheridan. Also, I liked Kosh better when he was more mysterious. 

A ship that I used to love/like, but now do not: Hm, I don’t really have any ships like that for this show.

My ultimate favourite character: A tough choice, but right now I have to say G’Kar. 

Prettiest character: Delenn, for sure, in any of her forms, including the one from the pilot film. (Also, Na’Toth) 

My most hated character: Morden, and that blonde woman who headed that spy group, Shadow Watch, or whatever it was. 

My OTP: I guess the closest I have to an OTP at the moment is Russian Winter.

My NOTP: Susan Ivannova/Marcus Cole, I guess. I’m also not at all big on Londo/G’Kar.

Favourite episode: Ugh, my memory is so hazy! I remember subplots that I liked. I loved the episode when Londo falls for the Dancer, and the one when his three wives come to visit. I loved the whole bit with Londo and G’Kar stuck in the lift, together. I remember lots of sweet bits with Delenn, as well.

Saddest death: Talia’s was unfortunate, I feel like more could have been done with her.

Favourite season: Again, bad memory! I enjoyed the early Sheridan episodes, because I found Sinclair really dull. 

Least favourite season: I didn’t like the conclusion to the Shadow wars, but I forget which season that was.

Character that everyone else in the fandom loves, but I hate: Again, a strong word. I don’t really like Stephen Franklin, I’m sorry. I don’t know why, he just doesn’t click with me. 

My “You’re a piece of trash, but you’re still my fav” fav: Hm, probably Londo. Also, that huge prey mantis in that smokey room who never came back after the first couple of series.

My “Beautiful Cinnamon Roll who deserves better than this” fav: Delenn, Lennier, Vir, Talia, G’Kar and Zack.

My “This ship is wrong, nasty and makes me want to cleanse my soul, but I still love it” ship: Um, not sure I have one for B5. 

My “They’re kind of cute, and I lowkey ship them, but I’m not too invested” ship: Vir/Lennier! Also, a big part of me wants Delenn to have a girlfriend.

Believe this will be the last thing I want in my dream: Avon was kissing Servalan and PD unnecessarily moved his tongue, it's visible to the camera. And he looks beguiled even affectionate and patted her cheeks (ok I know that might be PD haha but unfair as in Avon patted Vila canonically. Uh) while I was yelling to the screen "she'll kill you" and I was aware it is only a TV show the whole time. And the next I know I was drawing Servalan's face.
