But heeey, I got this here stylus working! I didn't expect an actual Lenovo stylus - this thing is refurbished - but it seems to be one. It works good! It just needed a new battery!

I got a paperlike (ish, it's not brand name) screen protector for this because I'm going to be using a stylus a lot and I don't wanna hurt it but ohhhhh baby this thing glides like butter on the screen itself. Excellent drag. And I am wobbly as all hell without lots of drag, so that is AWESOME 🤩. Paint.net still can't straighten me out with its smoothing feature, as you can see - but GIMP can! GIMP got way different and more Photoshop like a while back, and I stopped used it because I didn't like the interface. I still don't, but I love that line smoothing so I WILL figure it out. I've also got an SVG editor to learn, Inkscape! I don't know if I'll use it often, but if it's not too difficult I'll at least use it to resize things.

So, the new computer is a Lenovo Flex 5, 14 inches, Windows 11, 16 gig of RAM! Best Buy Canada still has some at this price, which is LESS THAN I paid for my tablet with 8 gigs (admittedly, over 4 years ago). AND I had to buy the keyboard and stylus separately for that. It's four inches bigger. It feels HUGE. It's on the chunky side, because it has that cool hinge that'll let me fold it into a tent. It also has a weird French Canadian keyboard - there are SO MANY special characters on it and I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO ACTUALLY TYPE ANY OF THEM. I can't always used shift to type @ anymore. Why? I HAVE NO IDEA!

Aw, frig, my eyes are tired and the text is dancing. I'm not at the point where it gets blurry and stays like that, but I'll get there if I don't take a break. Prrrrobably don't have enough stamina to illustrate yet, but give me a while. I CAN GET STRONGER!

"You must like them." Gesturing towards the sparkly fish that you'd been staring at, "That's the electric blue acara. It's known for its vibrant blue that glints in the sun." He explains calmly, eyes sparkling as he twirls his fork around the pasta aimlessly. As soon as your class ended, he texted you that he'd come pick you up and take you for dinner.

So, here you were, at your local zoo's aquarium, having dinner with your boyfriend. If there was one thing that you loved about your boyfriend, it was how precious he got when explaining anything related to fish. But what you maybe loved more was him, and how attentive he was to you.

"And that's the nemo one, I know you like that one." You smile, staring at the fish that he pointed at, and intently listening to every word he said. Letting out a quiet giggle, you add, "If I was a fish, which one would I be?" He turns back to you, eyes searching you in curiosity. God, you were just as weird as he was. He giggles before letting out a fit of laughter. "Which...hahaha...that's cute, love. You'd be the lopsided, klutzy one!!" You put your fork down, mid-chew, in fake anger. "LOPSIDED? Excuse me, sir." You roll your eyes, playfully pointing to the blue, oddball-looking fish, “Then you’re the…oh! the weird blue one!” He laughs, thinking about how cute you are, and how he's probably the luckiest man in the world to have you.

Without thinking, he blurts out, "I love you." You swallow your sip of water, putting it down as you reply, "I know, and I love you." A small smile graces your face, eyes sparkling under the dim restaurant lights. Reaching your arm across the table, you softly take his hand. He laces your fingers between his own, bringing your hand to his face to press a light kiss on your knuckles. "Tonight was really amazing, Hannie." When those words fall from your lips, you truly do mean it. It wasn't just the delicious food or the ambiance of the place; you loved how your boyfriend always knew what made you happy.

He grins, overjoyed that you liked the little thing he'd planned. Leehan knew that you would end up forgetting about Valentine's Day; most likely caught up in studying for medical school. So, he took it upon himself to treat you to a little something. "Ah, anything for my sunshine. Shall we, love?" He grins, getting up from his seat, and offering his arm for you to take. "Yes. We shall." You happily get up, taking his arm in yours, grinning up at him.

The sound of laughter could be heard from your table in the corner of the restaurant, as you both gathered your coats while discussing the various types of fish. You guys had talked about everything, from the emotionless eyes to acting like fish, making "bloop, bloop" noises at each other. A perfect date, or perhaps...a perfect date after Valentine's Day. It was times like these that you both loved the most. In every universe, you knew that you would somehow find each other and that Leehan would always be your favorite oddball. Digimon Frontier - Episode 3

For this episode I decided to check out the English dub for Frontier. I really enjoyed it! My problem is that the Digimon dubs are more fun and nostalgic to watch, but I'm always really conscious of missing out on lore and emotional beats. Maybe I'll finish the sub and then watch the dub someday when I wanna revisit this.

Notes:

The American OP is hype as heck! I like the tribal vibe with the drums. I think I like the Japanese digivolution music a little better though.

I liked most of the English VAs but Takuya sounds like a 30 year old lol. For some reason, Izumi's Italian outbursts were a lot funnier in English, "Mamma mia!"

I coulda sworn Takuya said he was in the 4th grade in the last episode but now he's in the 5th? In the dub he's in the 6th, so let's just say he's somewhere in the upper elementary range.

I really loved Tomoki's digivolution sequence. I like how his hand movements are a little more childish/cheerful than Takuya or Koji's Also, in the dub I love how he said "EXECUTE" lol. I know they meant like "executing a program" but I was just thinking of the murder version of "execute" hehe.

So I guess Bokomon and Neemon have a boke/tsukkomi dynamic going on. I think they overdid Bokomon's bullying a bit tho

Lol @ the DigiCode fixing one (1) single bridge in this episode whereas in the first episode they fixed like an entire village. I guess some digimon get you better results than others? (Also they said that the bridge "protected them from bad digimon," how does that work?)

So they've established a bunch of times now that there are supposed to be 10 warriors. Betting the cast will expand with some minor characters later.

I just noticed this, but Takuya has a little symbol on his shirt and hat but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a reference to something or it's just a cool graphic.

Speaking of graphics, I finally noticed that the symbols for the spirits are literally just kanji. Like Agnimon's is the kanji for fire, Wolfmon is light, Chackmon is ice...

Uhhh...why is the dub name for Chackmon (Kumamon) way more Japanese sounding? I guess they couldn't have used Kumamon in the sub cuz...

Chackmon is a weird name and even after reading the etymology on the wiki I don't really get it.

These kids are kinda savage. First Bokomon is pleading with them to save his world and they just look annoyed and then when Agnimon is battling all the Candlemon they're just like "wow, he's really trying to fight a fire type? What a dumbass" (paraphrasing) and they walk off (to be fair, Takuya told them to hide, but still!) It was really funny when Bokomon was telling the Candlemon that the kids were there to save the Digital World and Takuya was like "not really" lol.

I'm glad that they were at least given the chance to go home because otherwise it feels a little bit like they're being blackmailed into being heroes (save our world or you'll never see your home again)

I'm sure someone has meme'd on Agnimon being covered in white drippy wax before...I'll refrain.

I feel like we already have too much lore here. First it was Cherubimon was messing up the world and now it's actually Lucemon that was the OG world messer-upper? Now I dunno who the big bad is!

If there are 10 warriors...I wonder what the elements are gonna be. Well I guess Pokemon has managed to come up with a zillion "elements." Is someone gonna end up with "heart?" hahaha

Didn't expect Wizardmon to show up as a baddie-of-the-week. Feels weird.

I kinda like that Koji is taking his sweet time to join the party. We don't need his drama in the friend group.

haha i got drunk and wrote like 2,000 words about my experience with learning japanese. read it sober and just sat in front of my computer like 😐

you know when old people talk a lot and sometimes its hard to tell if they’re trying to pass on wisdom or are just kind of full of themselves and want to talk about themselves? what i wrote was definitely the latter. i’m just an おじいさん who wants to drink and smoke and talk about myself and my hard work lol

one of my favorite 居酒屋 to visit on my way home from work is closing for good this weekend. its open 24/7 so it was always great for stopping by after drinking at the bar until morning. their squid and shrimp 串カツ are soooo good. i’m actually here now typing this on my phone. this izakaya is in a basement so i don’t have signal. i just end up scrolling through my photos or blogging in my notes while sitting here alone for an hour until my favorite bar opens at 7.

the last time i came here a server ive become acquainted with hit on me, and i didn’t pick up on it at all, so my reaction was kind of dull. i only realized he was hitting on me when he turned around and all the other servers were laughing at him bc they were all eavesdropping. he probably mentioned he was gonna do it beforehand haha. i’m so sorry. i would be totally down to grab drinks if i realized sooner 😂

he always makes me turn around and show him my backpiece when im wearing tanktops and croptops. and hes always basically yelling カッコいい！！its cute how not normal tattoos are here. i would never get these reactions in america but sometimes it can be annoying. yes yes i have a lot of tattoos. yes. expensive. yes painful. and then they find out about my scarification, which honestly most people in the states have also never seen, so then its a weird balance of explaining my love for body modification and not self mutilation.

money has gotten TIGHT lately. im literally courting my ex and bringing him to izakayas and nice restaurants every week and im going broke from it so i gotta stop hahaha. we did have a really good time last night, though. and hes always really grateful and respectful when im paying. he also initiated a lot of kisses and kept kissing my cheeks last night which was weird and not like him at all. im not gonna think about it anymore tho.

i am super excited about where we’re going on saturday. its an 青森県 restaurant and i guess they get fish delivered daily from there, so i hope its super fresh and tasty 😤. i unfortunately booked too late and couldnt get a private room, but i think sitting at the counter will be nice since we’re doing the all-you-can-drink course and itll be faster to get our drinks if we’re not in a secluded room.

my go-to drink for the past 2 years living here has always been highballs, but lately theyre way too strong for me. ive become obsessed with lemon sours, but because its not whiskey in them like highballs i become drunk super super fast. good for cost performance purposes but dangerous since im used to my highball drinking pace. i usually dont black out if i only drink for 2-3 hours on a work night but the other day i drank my usual amount, just this time they were lemon sours and not highballs. i was on the verge of blacking out returning home at only 9pm on a monday 😂

i can’t stop thinking about the guy who asked me to be his girlfriend two weeks ago. he’s american and he’s nice enough, but he’s been living in japan for over a year and cant even say すみません to get a server’s attention. he also doesnt eat meat, so i cant introduce him to yakiniku and yakitori which are my go-to. everytime we hungout i had to translate everything and guide him around tokyo. i brought him to an izakaya for his first time and had to teach him the words for squid and octopus. which he promptly forgot 2 minutes later. its literally taco and ika!!! we got lost in a department store one time and i had to ask for directions while he just stood there. it always felt like i was with a child who knew nothing when we were together. as friends, im more than happy to introduce tokyo and translate. but as someone who was obviously trying to be appealing to me, it was honestly a massive ick. i have no preference when it comes to what ethnicity or cultural background someone is, but i cant date someone who knows less about japan than me. it was a good realization actually! i always say i dont have a type, but i think im slowly starting to realize my type. he doesnt have friends so he would always say “lets go out and explore tokyo together!”dude i have been experiencing tokyo for 2 years. i have my favourite spots and my favourite neighborhoods and i know how to find good restaurants and i regularly go out and just do shit by myself because i can navigate it by myself. he also was expecting me to teach him japanese which was just soooo….

when you get to a level where you’ve lived somewhere long enough and can speak the language a lot of people expect you to be a free tour guide. when it comes to strictly friends with no expectation of me, im more than happy to plan a day of sightseeing and introductions but sometimes when i make friends with foreigners it feels like that’s all they want out of me. i mean it goes both ways. a lot of japanese men just view me as a fetish object. omg a white girl who i can actually speak to!!! maybe she can teach me english!!! ive never fucked a 6 foot tall white girl with tattoos!!!

for my established friends, i happily translate stuff for them and give them english lessons but man it feels like theres a lot of expectations of me meeting people here. from foreigners and native japanese people.

i have a lot of foreign friends who have lived here longer than me and dont speak a lick of japanese and dont have any plans on learning. i dont really feel one way or the other about it. theyve been here long enough and know they can get around and have fun without knowing the language. i cant imagine how tough that is sometimes so more power to them. but its always the people complaining they want to learn and want to understand and communicate but still for some reason just dont sit down and study or make an effort to make japanese friends so they can atleast pick up conversational japanese that i dont understand. why are you not studying???? sure its hard but just do it??? you dont even have to use textbooks. apps kind of suck once you get past the basics but its at least something you can do while riding the train and then atleast i wouldnt have to order for you at the bar after youve been living here for several months!!!

im a princess and a brat and am obsessive so studying is super easy for me. i studying during my lunch breaks and anytime im riding the train. i understand thats not the case for everyone, so i try to take the time to teach my friends who want to learn japanese important phrases for day to day life. maybe textbooks and studying isnt their thing, which is fine. okay i’ll teach you as we go. but even then they dont retain anything 😂 dont complain to me about not being able to speak japanese if you’re not going to put in a little bit of effort to atleast order a beer by yourself!!!! and if youre over thinking the difference between ください and お願いします before you can even say [名前]と申します, youre thinking too much!!!!! japanese is hard. theres a lot of info. if you start getting into super specific japanese before you can do self introductions, its gonna be a long long road. so im super happy i learned japanese in america where i went textbook step by step instead of being surrounded by confusing japanese all day long. when i try to teach my friends japanese they always somehow ask me about n2 grammar. and its just like. stop. ignore that. that does NOT have anything to do with you at this time. i was N2 before N3 grammar even made sense to me (i did get full points on n3 test despite none of it making sense to me though 😂) because i finally had context for it and could make the connections. without those building blocks and going step by step id be lost. and thats why you should study the language before coming to a foreign country.

note: I want to make a little pride month special for all of my OCs but we're gonna see how this goes- I have ideas, just need motivation and time :'>

Shin had 2 sisters, so he knew his way around painting nails, doing simple hairstyles, jawlery, clothes and even carried few pads and painkillers with him, just in case! What more... girls from his class always approached him first whenver one had cramps... which didn't go unnoticed to everyone around.

Sometimes boys approached him and he had to explain he's like that because of his siblings. But he didn't really mind! He learned to ignore it and just live his life!

So when someone approached him on corridor, he payed it no mind.

"Hey Shin! I don't want to be mean but... are you sure you're you know... a boy?"

"Hm? Yeah, last time I checked I was. Why do you ask? Is it because of my black nails? Or is this because of eyeliner this time?"

"No! I didn't even noticed you have eyeliner to be honest... I mean... it's just weird to me that you have female health supplies more often than actual girls..."

Boy with black-red hair couldn't help but chuckle. It was nice encounter for once~ Seeing how the person in front of him tried to be actually nice was surprising yet he took it gladly.

From the other end of corridor, Mizuki was walking for their fisrt, tho 3rd for their classmates lesson.

They called out and waved, but it seems like the boy they were trying to talk to was a bit too busy with the conversation...

and yes i liked the idea of seeing romantic AND sexual relationships MOSTLY through fictional and my fantasies/fake scenarios (other's fantasies too sometimes) but sometimes irl too, as long as im NOT involved in any of those engagements because it feels wrong for me to be included somehow, which is why i think of THOSE kinds of thoughts in 3RD person.

Hiiiii! Thank you for the questions! Sorry it took me so long, I couldn't get my fingers to work and type answers last week.

1. What font do you write in? Do you actually care or is that just the default setting?

Just Arial hahah I am basic.

10. Has a piece of writing ever “haunted” you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you?

Yes. Kegare by Zillasafe. It is.....that fic gave me nightmares. In a good way! Like it is so good, so intense, so visceral, so...god I can't even describe it. Give it a read, but mind the tags it is the heaviest piece of fiction I have read in a long, long time. It would not leave my brain, like a spider in my skull.

22. How organized are you with your writing? Describe to me your organization method, if it exists. What tools do you use? Notebooks? Binders? Apps? The Cloud?

I use Google Docs. I used to not write outlines but I went and wrote one out for Black Sweatshirt, my long-fic. Which honestly helped a lot with figuring out where to build up tension and find my arcs.

For black sweatshirt it has a pretty detailed outline. My post-canon fics as well since they are all in the same verse. I have outlined them too.

My one-offs tho, it is just an idea on a page.

I also do break my chapters up into different docs. God i can't have that long of a doc........if i had one doc for Black Sweatshirt I may die hahaha

Hello sorry I am the anon that just sent you something a few minutes ago and I am rambling more now HRJMSKKDKS SORRY IDK WHO ELSE TO TALK TO ABOUT THESE THINGS BUT YEAH. I think one of the things that is difficult to accept by the fandom about aroace Senku is that, see, Senku /is/ attractive, right? most of his friends and the people he've met throughout his journey that are not also on the acespec are definitely capable of being attracted to him 'cause, well, he is attractive! So the idea that in spite of him being, well, such a 'catch,' this idea that his friends respect him enough to not make a move on him and understand/respect that he's not interested and will never be, is such an insanely warm and heartening thing to watch as an aroace. HAHAHA Okay I'm done now have a good day pt. 2!

None of his friends force a romance onto him, no one going "Ah, eventually he'll come around" it's the opposite! Even Luna who "crushes" on him respects his autonomy and doesn't do anything, no plot of trying to get romantic or physical, even she respects his decision on whether or not he actually wants a relationship with her.

Kohaku and Chrome both say "People don't know Senku at all" whenever there's a "Ohh you're into them?" comments, like about Homura. They all know and just respect it.

I thank Inagaki and Boichi everyday that there wasn't a last minute forced romance between him and Luna or Kohaku, also because I feel like shonen specifically doesn't value male and female friendships together as much as it should be, and always makes some weird romance happen between the (male) protagonist of the series and their closest (female) allies. Seems to be changing in recent years tho!

I'm actually glad we as a society kinda move on from having a forced romance for the protagonist trope in shows ajdjwjr

Also I ranted about this to @cosplayprincess21 but sometimes I feel like the reason why we have both Taiju/Yuzuriha and Chrome/Ruri as established will be couples in the series, is to divert from Senku like "Nooo, look at those romance plots, nothing to see over there, yes look away from the scientist" and even then their romance plots are very, very subtle and don't feel forced, they're very sweet and I like them!

To paraphrase myself from one of our convos, in a way, the series just feels AroAce-spec by having every other types of relationships, like family (Byakuya and Senku, Ruri and Kohaku, Ryusui and Sai, etc, etc...), friendship (I don't think I need to give examples for those hahaha but the best has to be Senku and Taiju), and alliances from mentor and student to enemies who become allies to fight the same enemy, be highlighted much more than the romantic ones.

Like yes, we have obvious romantic moments, but they don't feel overpowering, they just feel natural and like a side note.

Plus again, they're not focused on Senku hahaha He's like a bystander who has to roll with the punches lmao

I hope this makes sense, I don't know how else to explain it ajdje 💀 Just the fact that romance is a footnote, not a driving force for plot in the entirety of the manga. You could rewrite the entirety and have the romances be just friendships and it still works, even if some details change. Plus again, just two of Senku's closest friends (Taiju and Chrome) having the romance instead of himself as the protagonist just feels very "How to make sure people won't scream for a romantic main plot"

Also yeah, I don't really count Luna's switch over as a romantic subplot, because Senku gave it his all to trick her into joining his team lmao

Boy exploited romance for his convenience and then dropped it the second he didn't need it anymore hahaha

But I’m glad I’m not the only one who hates the idea of walking down an aisle with everyone’s eyes on me. Even the idea of saying vows in front of others makes me want to light myself on fire tbh. Personally I would prefer a very quiet ceremony with just me and my partner (and maybe a witness or two) and then perhaps a more public reception with friends and family if that’s what they want. Thus, this is also what I imagine with my fictional other. Tho considering my fictional other is Reborn I feel like the reception will be extra rowdy. But I have a feeling it would be a good kind of rowdy ☺️

I had loved that site, which was myfconline, I found out, but it's been shut down really. Also, good evening my lovelies, I have survived the first of the four brutal shifts...barely. The fact we had over 200 scripts to fill when I left an hour ago and the walk in clinic was handing out narcotics like candy (which sounds good until you take into account that I need to double count every script for narcotics, and then the pharmacists need to count to ensure my counts were right, meaning they take twice as long to fill, on top of having to get into the safe to get them, which is a 5 minute time delayed opening and just...it's a lot). All of that is a problem for tomorrow me, not tonight me hahaha.

I am so with you on just that idea, everyone staring and so much potential of embarrassing myself, my future spouse, disappointing someone, messing up somehow so publicly...it's too horrific for my mind to really handle and I literally cannot imagine myself getting married because of that. It doesn't help that I tend to attract, like a magnet, these really attention-hungry people romantically who must have the hugest wedding, with all the people and formalities and drama and traditions. Saying my vows publicly...I hadn't really thought about that and that is a new wave of nausea, yep. I have a teensy, tiny little voice and nobody really hears me well and to be expected to shout to have everyone hear me, or stumble on words like I do....terrifying. But aww, that sounds like the most perfect type of ceremony. I really do love and enjoy seeing people do small legal ceremonies and then really have a party for everyone to celebrate afterwards.

And most definitely on the fact that, with Reborn as your spouse, you would have a packed crowd at that reception. You'd get the most amazing gifts, don't get me wrong, and so many people would be trying to get into your good books, and of course Reborn isn't leaving your side because this type of very large event leaves you very vulnerable both physically and emotionally, but I could see the honeymoon being a quiet one, at least at first, because you'll need a little breathing room after all that. Thank god Reborn knows and accepts that about you and already planned a couple quiet days together as a 'pre-honeymoon'.

And thank you! I got so used to, because of previous jobs, not being able to wear jewelry because of it being a huge risk factor around machinery and equipment, so wearing it feels weird to me. Having a ring on 24/7 would kill me with discomfort and I know a friend of mine who works for a factory who tattooed his wedding band on and I loved the idea of it a lot more than I thought I did because it sure showed up in my dream (also, point of pride, since I sit amazing for tattoos according to every artist I've been to, I did better at publicly getting my tattoo than my squirming, fidgeting, wincing husband did lmao, though to be fair, I have fatter fingers).

now, with no more further ado, lets begin with my class!

First of all, i recommend you to save your workspace and put the Animation one that come by default, right here:

Looks a little messy, right? Worry not! Just configure everything in the Dockers until you're satisfied: (yes i dont have windows activated, fightme microsoft)

Now, i always use the default Animation Template (Animation-Japanese-En), but they usually come with lots of layers/groups that we don't really need, so i always delete them until the Layout Paper is the only group. Then i create a group for the Characters and another layer for the backgrounds (we'll get there later!)

And before actually getting in the timeline and shi, letme explain two points, they're important i swear!

Onion Skins menu: (at the right bottom of the screen)

Here you can configure all that has to do with seeing the past/next frame in the timeline for when you're drawing. The bars show how many past/future frames you want to see and their opacity, you can also change their colors. Once you're done with the config, you can just close it, to open it again just use the weird striped drop shaped button or choose it from the Dockers.

And the Animation Settings menu: at the right of the Onion Skins button.

Here you can see the starting frame from your project and the last one, but we're focusing in the Frame Rate. It comes with 24 FPS by default, but for simple animatics like mines 8 FPS are more than enough.

Now, going with the actual animation things.

To start drawing you don't actually need to make a first frame, but i think is more practical make that type of start an habit to yk, dodge bad moments haha

This move also works for imported images, since they come as layers and we need to make them actual frames by creating another frame at their right.

Talking about imported images, all my backgrounds are done in Sai2 since i feel more comfortable drawing there haha.

When we import more than one image, they become separated layers, and to combine them all in one we must make them frames and move all to one timeline (?)

+ if you dont pin the layer in the timeline they dissapear from it, but you can just select it again from the layer menu and they will appear again (you gotta pin it so they dont go).

now some personal preferences,,, i don't actually organize my timeline in any specific way, the only thing i want is having all the important layers at the display, so i re-use layers for different things (like the arashi/izumi layer is also used for tsukasa's hair that i forgot to draw in the first scene haha)

Still, to simplify and organize things a little more you can always color the timeline as you want, selecting a single frame or many as you want!

My last tip is that Copy a Keyframe is nOT the same as Clone one. Copy will make them a complete separate frame, while Cloning one will make them into another frame, but whatever you do will affect the original frame. I learned that by force :)

That's all i honestly know about animating in Krita, in terms of theory i have no idea what im doing 120% of the time, so forgive me if its messy or hard to understand hahaha.
