MASTERLIST | MY PATREON
Tumblr media
The night had been one for the books.
Harry became a Grammy winner for the second time within the first 30 minutes of the ceremony, getting the award for Best Pop Vocal Album, and your heart bursted with joy and pride and you watched him collect it.
He also delivered an amazing performance even though he had a stage malfunction that was out of his control, and after a few minutes of pep talk backstage, you convinced him that he should be proud of what he did no matter what.
Nights like tonight made you look back at your journey with Harry, from getting frustrated each year when the Grammys refused to give One Direction a nomination, to consoling him when his debut single Sign of the Times got overlooked and celebrating when they finally ave him his long overdue nomination for Fine Line. And now, being one of the most nominated artists of the night and a winner already.
Harry was not an artist that let awards or numbers define his career at all, but you knew that deep down he appreciated getting a nod and recognition for the hard work he puts into his music.
"What's on your mind, honey?" Harry asked and he noticed that you had been quiet for a few minutes, the show was on a commercial break so you could talk freely.
"Just thinking about how am I getting a picture with Beyoncé before the night ends," you joked, making him laugh along, "I'm also thinking about the bub, do you think she's okay?"
Harry couldn't help but smile at the mention of your daughter. Little baby Styles had been welcomed into the world a year and a half ago, looking like an exact carbon copy of Harry with curls, dimples and charming green eyes.
It's safe to say that she became Harry's entire world from the moment he saw her for the first time.
"I bet she's fast asleep by now after snuggling with mum for hours," you smiled at the thought, "You know she's obsessed with mum."
"She just loves her nana," you almost cooed, "And her Grammy winner daddy, even tho she doesn't have any idea what that means."
"You know," Harry began, and by the look on his face you knew he was up to no good, "She could become obsessed with her bay brother or sister too, if we decided to give her one."
The smirk on Harry's face after his statement was almost devilish, making you look him with wide eyes and a grin on your own.
"Are you asking me for another baby in the middle of the Grammys?" Harry shrugged, the smirk not leaving his face, "You're a menace. But, maybe if you win, I'll think about it."
Before Harry could reply, the lights dimmed signaling that commercial break was over and it was time for more awards, more specifically, the most important award of the night: Album of the Year.
Trevor Noah, the host, talked about the importance and meaning of the award, the fans the production had invited to support the nominees stood beside him in a line.
You could barely focus on what was being said because your eyes were fixed on Harry's hand gripping yours tightly, and you felt like throwing up from nerves if you looked at the stage.
And the Grammy goes to…” Trevor spoke into the mic, making a dramatic pause that felt way too long and made you finally look up no the stage, noticing that he was standing in front of Reina, Harry's fan.
And that was the moment you knew, the Album of the Year was Harry's House.
“It’s you!” both you ans Jeff whisper-yelled in unison, looking at each other with shocked faces and making Harry give you a confused look.
“What do you-” and before he could even finish his sentence his name was being called out and the trumpets from Music for a Sushi Restaurant filled the place.
Harry immediately covered his face in disbelief, shaking his head and taking in in the moment. You couldn't help but stand up and jump in your place, adrenaline and excitement, but mostly pride, running through your veins.
"My love, you won! Harry's House won!" you said into his ear when he finally wrapped his arms around you, pecking the side of yiur head repeatedly before kissing your lips quickly.
"I love you," was all he said before getting rushed into the stage along with his collaborators and friends.
"Shit!" was the first thing that came out of his mouth once he had his Grammy in hand, making everyone laugh, “I mean, shit! I’ve been so, so inspired by every artist in this category with me. At a lot of different times in my life I listen to everyone in this category when I’m alone,” he took a breath,"I think on nights like tonight, it’s obviously so important for us to remember that there is no such thing as best in music. I don’t think any of us sit in the studio thinking, making decisions based on what is gonna get us one of these.”
You stood with your hands clutched to your chest, your eyes filled with happy tears and nothing but love and admiration for him.
"I'd like to thank my mom and my sister for being my biggest supporters and giving me a great childhood, I would be nowhere without you," he paused to look directly at you from the stage, his eyes immediately watering again, "And of course my beautiful wife, YN. Thank you for sharing your beautiful life with me and giving me an amazing daughter who is the reason I do what I do everyday,"
You were unaware of the camera focusing on your and catching the moment you mouthed an 'I love you' to him from your place.
"I love you both so much, you mean the world to me. And YN," he paused, the devilish look from earlier making his way to his face again, along with a teasing raised eyebrow that told you that he was about to do something major, "I want another one."
The entire arena erupted into laughs and cheers, Jeff clapped and whistled from beside you and you couldn't help but cover your face in shock and embarrassment, astonished by Harry's anctics.
"You said, maybe if I won, and I did!" the crowd laughed even more, "I love you, so much. Thank you for this, I'll never forget it."
Harry got off the stage and you met him backstage to congratulate him properly, after a final performance the night came to an end and everyone headed outside the arena to celebrate.
"Do you feel like partying tonight? The label is throwing a celebration but if you feel tired we can skip it," Harry said as you both sat on the back of his Range Rover.
"Honestly, I just want to go home, kiss our baby goodnight and celebrate with my Grammy winner husband in private," you smiled at him teasingly, "Maybe get started on that second baby making."
The smile that appeared on Harry's face after hearing your words was bigger than the one from winning a Grammy.
"Home it is, then."

Coffee Talk | H.S
pairing: boyfriend!Harry x fem!reader
warnings: it’s supposed to be like a podcast episode so it’s a little long and has a lot of dialogue—just did some experimenting, lmk what you guys think :)
overview: Harry is a guest on your podcast.
a/n: Clearly, I’ve been listening/watching a lot of podcasts. I just like hearing people talk. Reader’s co-host, Mable, is inspired by Selena Gomez <3
Tumblr media
Coffee Talk Ep. 96: (Y/n)‘s Boyfriend, Hobama, and Marriage
“Hello friends and welcome back to another episode of Coffee Talk! I’m your host, (Y/n), and I hope you are all doing well!” You waved at the camera doing your usual intro.
You did a drumroll with your hands on the table and continued, “Now, we have an exciting episode for you guys today. You have been asking—basically begging—for us to get this person on the pod and it’s finally happening today! So grab a blanket, get some snacks, and get comfortable, because this is gonna be a fun one!”
The video cuts to your co-host, Mable, who is sitting across from you on a loveseat.
“I feel like we should build the tension before we tell them who it is.” Mabel chimes in, stirring her Starbucks cup (whose label has been covered since you guys aren’t sponsored by Starbies).
“That was a really good segue for Roll Call, Mae.” You pointed out, calling her by her nickname.
“I gotchu, babe.” Mable assured you, throwing a wink in your direction. You laughed and adjusted your legs up on the couch you were on, “Right, so obviously, we have Mable across from me. How are ya, Mae? What’s the coffee order today?”
Mable smiled at you and crossed her legs, “Well since you asked so kindly. I’m doing very great this morning (y/n/n) and I have a caramel macchiato today.”
The video then cuts to Ryland who had a “bitch please” look on his face, “Mable’s only happy because she got laid last night.”
“RYLAND!” Mable screamed in shock, the video cutting to her reaction. The room erupted with laughter as she flipped him off and let empty threats stumble out of her lips at Ryland.
“YOU LITERALLY TEXTED IT IN THE GROUP CHAT!” Ryland stressed, leaning over the table to get closer to Mable. The video moved to you taking a long sip of your coffee while a familiar tattooed arm rested behind you on the couch.
“Clearly, the energy is through the roof today in the pod—we’ll probably get to Mable’s sex life in a bit.” You paused, smirking at your friend, “But back to roll call, we’ve got Ryland on cameras and sound. Ryland, how are you pookie?”
Ryland posed at the camera in front of him and waved wildly at it, “I’m doing swell stinkabutt.”
“What’s your coffee order today—actually Ryland doesn’t have coffee today, he has juice.” You explained to your listeners. Ryland held up his green juice, “Yeah, I’m on a juice cleanse everyone. Me and Sean are going to Aruba in a few weeks and I refuse to work out, so I’m drinking juice instead.”
“You look great Ry.” A voice off camera chimed in. The voice had a distinct accent that could only belong to a specific someone. Ryland smiled at the person, “Thanks Ha—wait I was just about to spoil who it was.” He immediately clasped his hand over his mouth with wide eyes.
“Y’know what, we’ve made you guys wait long enough.” You sighed before continuing, “Our guest is very special to me. He’s a recent Grammy winner, one of the biggest artists in the world, and he happens to be my boyfriend; please welcome to the pod mister Harry Styles!” You cheered, causing everyone in the room to clap. The video finally cut to Harry who was sat next you on a blush pink couch nursing a pastel yellow mug.
Harry adorable scrunched his nose and waved at you all bashfully, “Oh, stop it.”
“How does it feel to be on the pod, Harry?” You asked, turning your body towards him. Harry nodded and looked around the room, “I’m happy to be here, love, thanks f’having me. Also, I like what you’ve guys done to our shed, s’very comfy.”
“I totally forgot we were in your shed.” Ryland chuckled.
“Oh yeah, to everyone listening or watching, we’ve been filming this podcast in Harry and (Y/n)’s backyard.” Mable explained to the audience with a chuckle.
“It’s not a problem honestly, I’m glad you guys are getting some use out of it.” Harry assured you all as he glanced at the decorations around the room. There was an old school looking blush couch in the center of the room, which was across from a burnt mustard colored love seat. While the walls were painted a darker shade of matcha green with fairy lights strung along it.
Harry was seen glancing at the rug as he toed at it with his socked foot. “Where’d y’get the rug?” He asked you.
You peeked at said rug, “Your mom picked it out when she was helping me furniture shop here.” Harry’s mouth made an ‘o’ shape as he leaned back into the cushion, one of his legs crossed beneath him and the other hung off the couch.
“So Harold, what’s the coffee order today?” You motioned to his coffee. He proudly held the yellow mug up and smiled at the camera, “I’ve got my usual black coffee, courtesy of my lovely girlfriend.”
The camera panned to you hiding behind your Starbucks cup trying to hide your heated cheeks.
“And what do you have today, love?” Harry returned the question, naturally fitting into the conversation. You looked at the label on your cup, “I have my usual coffee order—H actually went out on a coffee run for me and Mable, so thank you bubs.” You answered, the corners of your mouth quirked up.
“They make me sick.” Ryland fake gagged.
“Aren’t you also in a relationship?” Mable narrowed her eyes at him. Ryland rolled his eyes at her, “Yeah, but they make me sick in a good way, like the wholesomeness is just too much.”
“What the fuck..”
Harry grinned at Ryland, “Y’gonna be fuckin’ puking by the time we’re done then.”
The camera cut to Mable smirking at you, “I find it so weird how you’re being so quiet.”
“Me?” You pointed at yourself amusingly. Harry glanced at you and visibly scooted closer to you. The sound of equipment being moved can be heard over the audio since Harry attempted to discreetly move his mic stand next to yours.
“Yes ma’am.” Mable nodded. You placed your cup on the round coffee table beside you.
“I don’t know why, but it just settled in that this is us, kind of like hard launching our relationship to the public.” You softly answered, hands fiddling with your (Harry’s) loose knitted sweater.
“But everyone knows you guys are together.” Ryland stated, confusion etched on his features. Harry rose his hand to answer. You giggled at him and nudged his arm, “You don’t need to raise your hand to speak, hun.”
“Sorry.” He shook his head.
“Don’t be.” You chuckled, allowing Harry to continue. “Everyone knows, but we haven’t been very public, y’know? We like keeping things between us. Like, this is the most public we’ve ever been.” He gestures to you guys sitting beside each other.
You chimed in jokingly, “Yeah, this is our first time sitting next to each other—like ever.”
Harry nodded along, “I’m shitting m’pants right now.” He stated, causing a few chuckles in the room.
“How much persuasion did it take for (Y/n) to get you on the pod?” Mable asked Harry, sipping her coffee. Harry’s brows furrowed as he stared at the ceiling.
“Not much. She asked and I was like—yeah, I’m down.” He answered, shrugging his shoulders for emphasis. You chuckled at him and added, “He’s forgetting the part when he admitted that he’s been waiting for me to ask him to guest star.”
“Have you really been waiting?” Ryland questioned your boyfriend. Harry’s brows raised as he exclaimed, “Yes! I bloody have! You guys literally had my sister on here before me!”
You all laughed at his slight frustration, “I swear it wasn’t on purpose!” The camera cuts to you and Harry, your hand squeezing his knee.
“Wait so did you guys meet through Harry’s sister?” Mable asked you both, she then was quick to add, “If you guys don’t mind me asking!”
You waved her off to assure her it was fine.
“We met through his stylist Harry Lambert.” You began before pointing to the camera, “Shout out to Lamby by the way!” Harry followed suit and instead waved at the camera with a lopsided grin.
“Anyway, Lamby and I know each other through work. We’re under the same company and we do similar things, etc. One day he invited me to come out to one of H’s shows, I didn’t have anything better to do, so I decided to go.”
“We met before the show though, remember?” Harry gently interjected, using his arm behind you to tap your shoulder. You nodded, “Yeah we did, I was fortunate enough to meet him before he went out on stage and we got on really well—“
You looked at Harry, “We probably spent about five minutes talking, right?”
“Yeh, it was pretty quick. I don’t know if you felt it at first, but like—Y’know that feeling when you kinda just know a person is gonna have some kind of impact on y’life?” Harry wondered aloud, hands waving around to try and get his point across. Mable and Ryland nodded, making sounds of agreement.
“It was like that and I thought about it the entire time I was on stage. After that everything seemed to fall into place and the rest was history.” Harry finished, smacking his hand on his leg. Ryland was the first to speak, “So after the concert did you try to always come up with an excuse to go to his shows or did you try to persuade Harry Lambert to invite (Y/n) more often?” Ryland pointed between the couple in front of him.
You and Harry stared at each other, his brow raised at you while your eyes squinted at his. Harry stuck his pointer finger out, “Well I got her number after, so I didn’t have to make any excuses for her to be at my shows. I’d invite her, she’d come and watch, then we would hang out after. Sometimes when we were in the same place, we would meet up too.”
“I’m assuming this went on for months?” Mable looked between you and Harry.
“Yeah, but the thing is, he was touring and I was working. So we had to be in different places all the time.” You clarified. Harry picked off where you left, “We managed to make it work though, I don’t think either of us were going to give up that easily.”
The video caught you and Harry gazing into each other’s eyes momentarily.
“Absolutely.” You agreed, scrunching your nose at him, similar to what he did earlier. Mable pouted at the two of you, “You guys are so cute.”
Harry quietly thanked her as he situated himself on the couch again. While Mable and Ryland gushed about how much you guys were “goals”, the famous singer got even more comfortable on the couch. He placed his mug down and leaned his body against your side, he softly took your arm and held it against his chest so you were holding him. He leaned the mic lower so it was closer to him and was mindful of where his feet was to avoid bumping his mug on the floor.
“I’m just curious, but what are like the weirdest rumors have you guys heard about yourselves?” Ryland asked, moving the conversation along.
“I don’t have any.” Mable shrugged.
“Maybe that guy last night can share some, should we call him?” You sang, jokingly pulling out your phone. Mable groaned and slapped her forehead with her palm, “I hate the both of you.”
“I’ve heard stuff about us, but I really think this rumor would be more fun to talk about.” You pondered. Harry shifted his head on your chest to look up at you, “Wha’ rumor?”
The corner of your lip turned into a smirk as you simply said, “Hobama.”
Harry suddenly threw his head back and bursted out laughing.
“Like President Obama?” Ryland screamed in shock, his brows raised to his forehead.
“I honestly don’t know how it started. It randomly popped up on the tabloids and followed me around for years—till this day, might I add!” Harry tried to clarify.
“I feel like it got even worse when Graham asked you about it.” You chuckled, fingers mindlessly playing with Harry’s brunette curls.
“What did Graham ask?” Mable leaned towards the couple.
“He asked if it was true that I had a sexual relationship or affair with Obama—I knew they were gonna ask me about it prior to the show being filmed. But at the time I was like fuck it and just went along w’it.” Harry started, “I didn’t know that it would become an actual thing.” He deadpanned, sending a look at the camera.
“Have there been any Hobama signs at any of your recent shows?” Ryland squinted his eyes at Harry.
“Not a one.” Harry paused, “But after this episode airs, I wouldn’t be surprised if I see a couple in the crowds.”
Mable crossed her arms, “Your shows are very interesting—in a good way—of course.”
“Thank you.” Harry grinned, “Yeh, we’ve got a lot of things going on. Every night it’s like a giant sleep over with a bunch of friends. We sing songs, we dance—“
“Trauma dumping!” Ryland interjected excitedly. Harry gestured to the man opposite him, “Right, we do therapy sessions.”
“Don’t forget the gender reveals, proposals, and helping them come out.” You continued to list, Harry nodding his head at every thing you said.
“Harry’s like a Swiss Army knife, he just does everything.” Mable joked. Ryland sighed and rested his chin in his palm, “You’re so talented.”
“You’re better at controlling cameras and all the sound equipment than me.” Harry acknowledged, raising a brow at him. Ryland snapped his finger at the Brit, “You’re so right, thank you, Harry.”
Harry placed his hand on his heart, “I gotcha man.” You then raised your hand, catching Harry’s attention, “Yes, m’love?”
“Can I just say how proud I am of you and like how insanely successful the tour has been?” You sat up, making Harry sit up as well. He remained close to you, wrapping his arm back around your shoulder. Though your statement made him pout at you, “Y’make my heart feel fuzzy.”
Mable and Ryland audibly awed at the both of you.
“No! Like seriously, it makes me so proud to see how much of a safe space your concert is to all you fans and anyone who steps foot into those shows.” You placed your hand on his tattooed arm and gave it a small squeeze. “I don’t think you realize how much of an impact you make on people’s lives, like we all appreciate you so much and I just wanted to remind you of that.” You shrugged, shrinking into your own shoulders.
“C’mere.” Harry said dragging out his words as he pulled you into a hug, this time he held you and your head was tucked into the crook of his neck. Instead of letting you go, Harry helped you get comfortable in his arms.
“While we’re at it, I just wanted to say how much fun I’m having right now. Thank you guys for having me” Harry gestured to Mable and Ryland across from him then turned to you, “And thank you to you for allowing me to be in your workspace and sharing it with me. You’ve always supported me throughout everything and now I finally get to support you and your craft, so thank you for trusting me to be here.”
Now it was your turn to pout, though there was a twinkle in you eye, “Thank you, H.” You hummed as Harry pecked your temple.
“I’m rooting so hard for you guys, you have no idea.” Mable said from her seat, the camera cut to Ryland who agreed.
“Yeh, I guess we like each other a lot.” Harry joked. You smiled softly at him.
“I don’t wanna intrude but is there a possible wedding in the future?” Ryland asked. It was silent between you and Harry, the both of you staring at each other before answering.
“I think so, I have some pretty high hopes.” You answered. Harry made a sound of agreement, “I think when everything calms down we’ll figure it out, but without a doubt it’s definitely in the cards.”
Harry let out a small chuckle and added, “Let me release the fourth album and then I’ll put a ring on it.”
The camera cut to you blushing with wide eyes, clearly taken off guard by your boyfriend’s comment. Mable and Ryland were quick to react, sending you teasing looks and screaming “oooo”.
The corner of Harry’s mouth lifted into a smirk, turning his head to look at you he asked, “How’s that sound?”
You scrunched your nose (adorably, Harry might add) and pretended to put some thought into it.
“Sounds like a plan, but on one condition.”
Harry’s brows raised as he waited for you to continue.
“You have to release Medicine.” You said, Harry caught on to your banter and feigned an annoyed sigh, “Babe, we’ve talked about this.”
“Fine, then can we get a puppy?”
“Of course we can, darling, we’ll have one by tomorrow morning.” Harry jested, sounding incredibly posh.
You turned to the camera apologetically and spoke directly to your boyfriend’s fans, “Sorry guys, I tried.”
Though in reality, you knew that Harry would release Medicine in a heartbeat if you asked him to.

WORD COUNT: 2.2k
SUMMARY: Harry has been into you for way too long, but you haven't given him a chance. You run into each other at the Grammy's afterparty and you finally tell him why you're so adamant about keeping your distance.
MASTERLIST | SUPPORT ME!
Tumblr media
Harry will forever remember tonight.
It’s his second time going home as a Grammy winner and nothing can ruin this experience for him, not even how his performance was ruined. He did it again and nothing else matters for now.
Or at least that’s how he should be feeling as he is celebrating with his friends and other winners and artists at the after party, but something keeps bugging him.
Just hours earlier he ran into you again and he hasn’t been able to get you out of his mind since then. It’s no surprise you were at the award show, even though you’re not a singer he could have expected to run into you at one of the most important nights of the year. Yet, he was still surprised to see you walk down the red carpet, but it might have been because you always have that effect on him no matter what.
If someone asked Harry who his celebrity crush was he would say you with no hesitation or remorse. He’s been enamored with you since the first time he met you at some other after party a few years ago. The two of you were introduced by a mutual friend and he stuck to your side for as long as possible, drinking up every word, every laughter and every look you gifted him with. He thought you were way out of his league, he still does, but that doesn’t stop him from yearning after you like a lovesick puppy every time your paths cross. Harry can’t tell how many times he tried to flirt with you before, but his flirty comments were met with soft rejection every time, you never seemed to be returning the gentle feelings and though it was devastating, he knew he could do nothing.
He could at least call you his friend, more or less. He definitely has a tither connection with you than with most people in this room, there’s a bigger circle of friends you both share so you end up meeting every few months without planning it and there are periods when you’re even texting.
He hasn’t talked to you for a while now, so seeing you brought his feelings back he’s been harboring for so long.
Now as he’s sipping on his drink he can’t help but keep looking around, trying to spot you in the crowd to no avail for now. He pulls out his phone and opens the message thread with you, rereading the last few texts he exchanged with you a while back. His thumb hovers over the screen, fighting the urge to hit you up with a message when an elbow meets his side. Looking up he sees Mitch beside him.
“Your crush is here,” he informs Harry with a knowing smirk, nodding towards the bar.
He follows his friend’s gaze and spots you only seconds later. You’ve changed out of your burgundy gown he saw you wearing earlier, sporting a chic pant suit this time, but you’re just as breathtaking as ever.
Mitch just chuckles when Harry gets up without a word and heads over to you. Pushing between guests he ignores everyone who might try to strike a conversation up with him until he finally reaches you.
“Y/N, hi!” he smiles at you warmly. You turn to face him with a cocktail in your hands, a wide smile stretching across your face.
“Harry! What a nice surprise!” you chuckle. “Congrats on your wins!” You don’t hesitate to put an arm around his neck and pull him into a hug that he returns gladly.
“Thank you.”
“Though it was no surprise you won, the album is amazing.”
“You listened to it?”
“Of course,” you chuckle. “I wouldn’t have missed it.”
“Do you have a favorite?” he asks with a cheeky smile.
“Hmm, probably… Satellite.”
“Great choice.”
The conversation keeps flowing and suddenly it feels like it’s just the two of you even though it’s a crowded party that’s happening around you. Harry realizes that no matter how much time passes between each time he sees you, he will always catch himself falling for you over and over again. He tries to flirt with you this time as well and this is the first time he can feel like his rizz is not going straight over your head.
“Y/N, I need you to be very honest with me,” he starts, when you both had a few drinks. Neither of you is drunk, but definitely tipsy.
“About what?” you chuckle.
“Do I have a chance with you? For real, I’m not playing here,” he smirks, placing one hand to his chest, while holding up the other one, his half empty glass rising into the air.
You sigh deeply, looking away from him as you busy yourself with your own drink.
“Ah, it hurts!” he acts as if he was shot in the chest. “Am I that ugly and boring?”
“Of course, you’re not!” you roll your eyes.
“Okay, do you like me?”
“I do,” you admit, avoiding to look him in the eyes.
“Alright, then let’s take this conversation over to my place.”
“I can’t,” you shake your head.
“We can go to yours as well, I’m fine with that too,” Harry half jokes, but he notices that you’re not laughing. “Y/N, what is it then?”
“I need to get some air.” Jumping to your feet you leave your drink behind and head out to the back of the place that’s the smoking area, hoping to be alone for a bit, but Harry rushes after you, determined to get answers this time.
He finds you in a dark corner, your arms wrapped around yourself as you stare out into the void.
“Y/N, I’m sorry if I went too far, I didn’t mean to.”
“It’s… fine.”
“I just… fuck, I really like you. A lot. I can’t stop thinking about you and… I couldn’t just not shoot my shot.”
“You’ve been shooting your shot for a long time.” He finally sees a tiny smile on your lips.
“So you did notice my attempts?” he grins. “Just chose to ignore them, I guess?”
“Harry, I can’t.”
“Can’t ignore them anymore?”
“No. I can’t date you.”
“Can’t as in…?”
Sighing, your head falls back, against the wall as you close your eyes for a few seconds before opening them and finally looking at him.
“I don’t date.”
“Why?”
“Because of Arian.”
The picture is finally crystal clear in Harry’s head. You’re depriving yourself from dating because of your son.
It’s no news to Harry that you’re a mother, he has even met your five year-old son, but he never thought of him as the reason why you keep rejecting him. You keep your private life pretty hush hush, especially since you split from your ex, Arian’s father three years ago. No one knows why you called it quits and there’s actually no photo of the little boy online either, that’s how dedicated you are to protect him from the public. Harry completely understands it, but he doesn’t see why you can’t date because of Arian.
“The little guy doesn’t want to share you with anyone else?” he tries to joke.
“I’m a single mother who is also an actress. My life is complicated enough without dates and boyfriends.”
“Woah, we’re only talking about one boyfriend,” Harry puts his hands to his chest. You crack a smile, but it’s not as genuine as he would want it to be.
“It’s just not the right time for me to start dating again. I’m sorry.”
“I’m a little hurt you’re not even giving me a chance.”
“I’m sure dating a single mother is not exactly your dream either.”
“Y/N, I haven’t even thought about it until you brought it up. Arian is a cool little guy and I have no problem with you being a mother.”
“You will at one point, trust me,” you scoff and Harry tries not to take it personal. You’re just trying to protect yourself and your son, it’s not against him.
“What if I prove that it’s fine? That I’m not just some random guy who will come and go?”
Staring back at him you chew on his words as you tilt your head to the side.
“We’ll see.”
Tumblr media
At first the peace and quiet takes over your waking mind. You feel a gentle breeze from the window you left open for the night and you stretch long underneath the silky covers when it finally dawns on you.
It’s peaceful. And quiet. You haven’t had a morning like this in about… well, five years. Arian loves to wake you up whenever you’re home, jumping on the mattress, or just cuddling to you, either way, he never misses a chance to spend a morning with you.
So where is he now?
Slight panic rushes through your veins as you quickly wrap yourself in your silky robe and head out to find your baby. All the worst case scenarios flash through your mind, but they dissolve the moment you reach the stairs and hear his laughter coming from the kitchen. With careful steps you approach the source of his voice that’s mixed with another one, a more mature male voice that you don’t recognize at first but when you round the corner and see what’s happening in your kitchen, recognition washes over you.
Harry Styles is making pancakes in your kitchen with your son. And they are making a big mess, but Arian seems to be enjoying it. Music is playing in the background and there’s a ginormous bouquet of flowers on the kitchen island. Your heart flutters in your chest as you walk closer.
“Mommy!” Arian notices you and climbing off his stool he runs over to you and you gladly pick him up into your arms.
“Hey baby, what’s… what’s happening here?”
“Harry is making us pancakes!” He throws his hands up into the air in excitement as you walk over to the kitchen island and sit him down on top of it.
“Good morning, Y/N,” he smiles at you so charmingly, it’s hard to focus on the fact that he is in your house on a Saturday morning.
“Hi, what do you… Um, what are you doing here?”
“Mommy, I told you, he is making us pancakes!” Arian giggles.
“I know, baby. Hey, you’re still in your pajamas, why don’t you go up and change?” You help him off the counter and gently push him towards the stairs. He runs off singing to himself.
“Before you throw me out,” Harry starts, holding the spatula up, “You told me to prove it.”
“Prove what?”
“That it’s fine that you’re a mom. So, this is our first date, in your house, with your son, so you don’t have to worry about him or get a babysitter.”
“How did you even get into my house?” you chuckle in disbelief. You’re definitely touched by the gesture, you don’t like to spend time away from Arian when you’re not working.
Grinning, he starts flipping the pancakes in the pan.
“Well, I might or might not have contacted your agent who hooked me up with your housekeeper who let me in this morning.”
“Wow, my own staff betrayed me,” you chuckle.
“I wouldn’t say betrayed. They both were happy to help me, because they want what’s best for you.”
“And that would be you?” you ask, arching an eyebrow at his cockiness. He shrugs, but his smirk tells it all.
“Look,” he sighs, turning the stove off. “I really did mean it. I don’t care that you’re a mom. It’s all good, it’s part of you. I don’t want to just come and go in your and Arian’s life. Just give me a chance to prove that it could work.”
He must have some kind of magic power over you, because he really just waltzed in here, made some pancakes and convinced you to change your mind.
“Arian will always come first for me, Harry.”
“Of course, I wouldn’t expect anything else,” he nods.
“That means that even in my limited free time, you’ll most likely have to share me with him. I’m not the type to let nannies and babysitters raise my child.”
“And I love that about you. Arian is lucky to have you as his mother.”
Staring back at him you want to say no, but you simply can’t. It’s impossible.
“Okay,” is all you say.
“Okay as in… You’ll give me a chance?”
“Yes, but don’t fuck it up,” you chuckle as Harry walks closer and his hands find your waist, pulling you closer. It’s the first time he is physically this close to you, but it feels like he’s been doing it since forever, like you belong in his arms.
“Never,” he smirks and as he leans closer you hear a pair of tiny feet running down the stairs, so you step back just in time for Arian’s return.
“Give me the pancakes!” he giggles, climbing up to a stool and you smile at Harry.
“See, he is already cockblocking you,” you whisper to him chuckling.
“Touché,” he sighs with a smirk. “But he is cute, so it’s alright.” Shaking it all off he turns to Arian as he places the pancakes on a plate. “So, what do you want on top?”

tears of love
Tumblr media Tumblr media
summary - a whole bunch of tears and a whole bunch of love for the album of the year grammy winner
warnings: swearing, tears, shyness?!, slight media hate mention
word count: +3.6k
pairing: new-boyfriend!harry x reader
The night before the Grammys, Harry had never been more stressed.
He had tried everything to get himself to sleep, but no amount of lavender spray or chamomile tea could get his eyes to close.
He knew he needed a good night's sleep if he wanted to survive the next day, but not even a soothing bubble bath helped him settle down. So he resorted to the one person he knew would help him fall asleep, but he had been too shy to contact at first.
His phone rang as he waited for you to pick up, his bitten nails a clear sign that he was stressed with both not being able to sleep and calling you.
“Hi lovie. I’m not keeping you from anything am I?” He asked, not wanting to ruin your nighttime routine.
“Hi lovie. I’m not keeping you from anything am I?” He asked, not wanting to ruin your nighttime routine.
“No, no. Not at all. Wouldn’t even matter if you were anyways.”
Harry smiled and laid back on his bed, running a hand over his forehead and back through his hair. He pictured you in a similar position, laying in your own bed across the city. He wished you could be laying beside him instead, but your relationship was only recently new and it was too soon to be sleeping over.
There had been too many people coming and going in Harry’s life that it took him a little longer than most people to become comfortable, and safe, around the people he was dating. He was beginning to think you may be the exception though. There weren't many nights he wasn’t thinking of having you next to him always. He craved the intimacy of falling asleep with you and then waking up in the morning with you still wrapped around him.
For now, he would have to deal with the fact you were across town and would see you in a matter of hours to get ready for the Grammys.
“Thank you.” Harry said quietly, more for himself than you.
“I forgot to tell you earlier, but my mum says have fun tomorrow.” You said.
“I wish she could be there with us all. I wish my own mum could be there, y’know?” Harry sadly chuckled, wishing more than anything he could spend more time with his loved ones and ones who love him.
“I have no doubt she has subscribed to Paramount plus especially to watch the Grammys, lovie.” That much you knew. Harry chuckled and nodded because he knew you were right. His mum was his biggest supporter, as any mum should be, and he was lucky to have a mum like her.
“I know.”
“She’s so proud of you, H.” You made sure he was reminded.
“I’m more proud of her.”
“Give yourself a little credit. You’ve not always had it easy either. The way the media harrasses you, I would have given up years ago.”
“I wouldn’t have let you give up, just like you don’t let me.”
“You didn’t know me way back when, H.” You chuckled over the phone and Harry’s heart beamed like sunshine at the sound. There was no better sound for him now. Not even awards calling his name.
“I wish I did. I wish I could have met you sooner.” He replied honestly, moving one hand onto his chest and over his heart where it stopped. If he pressed hard enough he could feel you there, where his heart was beating a little extra rapidly for you. No one had ever made him or his heart feel the way you do and his biggest regret in life was not having found you and that feeling years ago. Now you existed in his life, it made all the other moments seem insignificant to the ones you were now creating together.
“Don’t think about it like we’ve wasted time, lovie. Think about it like we needed to break and fix our own hearts, to become stronger, before we could find the strength to begin again with each other. I think my heart is stronger for you than anyone else because of all the heartbreak it took to find you.”
Late night conversations with you were not a rarity, but it wasn’t common for you both to be so ‘heart-on-sleeve’ with each other. You were only 3 months into your relationship, having spoken for a couple months before that too, but both of you clearly felt something more than just a simple attraction for one another. Harry didn’t want to call it love, because he knew the consequences of falling in love too quickly, but he was scared that’s just what his feeling for you was. Little did he know you felt exactly the same way.
“I…” Harry had to stop himself short, “I think my heart is stronger for you too.”
Harry looked up at his white ceiling, running a hand over his stubble beard that he would have to shave in the morning. Then he looked over to the other side of the bed. The neat side of the bed, where the sheet was still tucked into the mattress. He ran his hand over the expanse of the vacant bed and swallowed back a tearful lump at the back of this throat.
“I miss you.” Harry said softly.
What he really meant to say was; I need you here. I love you.
You were quiet for a moment, making Harry think he said the wrong thing, but it was only because you were trying not to cry. Your heart hurt over the thought of it taking so much courage for Harry to be so open with his words. His feelings had often been so vulnerable to the crazed media and ex-partners, but with you he had never felt so safe. His feelings had never felt more protected and accepted. You knew what his words really meant and he could tell what you meant when you whispered the words back too. “I miss you too.”
I love you too.
•••••••••
Harry had gotten a good seven hours of sleep.
You had gotten a few more, since Harry had stayed on the phone to tell you stories of his life to lull you to sleep. Something about knowing you were peacefully sleeping made Harry fall asleep so easily. He knew you would be able to help, even if you didn’t realise it.
It was now only an hour before Harry had to head off to the Grammy red carpet venue. It was so hectic in his house, where he was hosting pre-drinks and the getting ready antics. Harry Lambert was busy ironing all of Harry’s outfits for the 15th time and Anthony would not stop taking photos. Jeff was busy social networking with Harry’s friends and family, whilst Harry was busy checking his phone for text messages off you.
Y/N: I’m here xx
Harry smiled, leaving his phone on top of his kitchen counter before jogging to his front door in excitement. He was dressed in a rainbow patterned jumpsuit and white boots, his hair styled so perfectly. He looked so fun and young, representing the younger generation of artists this evening.
He opened his front door and smiled so brightly when he saw you standing at the front door looking so pretty. Your hands were cradling a box of cupcakes, a bunch of flowers and a heart-shaped balloon. All of the gifts were lovely, but nothing could put a bigger smile on his face than you.
“Baby…” He pouted when he saw you, cupping his hands over his cheeks as his mouth gaped in shock.
“Surprise! Happy Grammy day!” You giggled excitedly, laughing at his initial shock and love-heart eyes on you.
“You didn’t have to do any of this.” He put his hands over his heart, itching to just have you in his arms now.
He moved forward to take the cakes and flowers off of you, placing his other hand on your waist to tug you closer to him. He softly laughed as he desperately pulled you closer and titled his head down to kiss you. He didn’t wait a single second to kiss you senseless, giving you more than just a sweet peck. Your hand not holding the balloon snaked up to around his neck and held him close, making his lips crush over yours again and again.
He tasted like a winner already with your cherry soaked lips on his.
You pulled away flustered, cheeks blushing and lips wanting so much more. You licked your lips to conceal Harry’s taste with you and Harry’s beady eyes watched every movement like he would be tested on it later.
“Y’look amazing.” Harry spoke quietly, just wanting his words to be heard by your ears.
“Thank you.” You blushed, not knowing how else to respond. “Did you forget a t-shirt?” You joked, snaking your hand down from around his neck and over his chest. His skin reacted by giving him a chill of goosebumps and a sense of pride rushed over you for being able to make him react in such a way.
“Just thought I’d get my tits out for you, baby.” He joked in return.
“And your millions of fans.” You patted his chest right over his heart he had been touching before.
“No. Just for you.” Harry reiterated, needing you to understand, like most things, he did this for you. He knew how much you loved it when he embraced his own masculinity and showcased who he truly was with his clothing, so when it came to choosing outfits for events he always kept you in mind and what you thought might be a good option. It seemed he had chosen well with the way your eyes had dilated upon taking him all in.
Harry couldn’t help but lean in to kiss you one more time, turning into two, three and four. You smiled into the end two, making it harder for Harry to kiss your soft lips but he made do anyway. He couldn’t get enough of you, not even caring that he now had lipstick on and around his own lips.
“Are you coming in?” Harry asked, always making sure you were comfortable with everything before making you actually do it.
“I need the loo, so yes please.” You nodded. Harry took your spare hand in his and he walked you through the front door, shutting it with his foot behind him.
He could tell you were nervous by the slight tremor in the hand he was holding, but he gave you a soft squeeze to let you know you were alright. He realised it was daunting to be in a room with a group of people you barely knew, apart from Harry Lambert and Jeff, so he made sure to stick close by.
All Harry ever talked about to his friends was his undying adoration for you, but the majority of them had yet to meet you because Harry enjoyed keeping you just his for as long as possible. Your relationship wasn’t public, but even if it was your social media were private so the fans wouldn’t get a hold of anything anyways. Harry’s friends knew he had someone romantic in his life, because his smile hadn’t been so bright in years.
They were all excited to meet the person responsible for the rebirth of Harry’s happiness.
“Y/N!” Harry Lambert shouted across the room, putting down his iron and walking over to you with open arms. You would’ve done the same, but Harry kept a grounding hold on your hand, which you were very thankful for, and so you let Harry Lambert reach you before hugging him the best you could.
“Hi!” You laughed as Harry Lambert hugged you.
“Oh you look incredible, darling!” He gasped as your outfit, similar to the way your Harry had.
“Thank you.” You, once again, blushed.
“Harry is very lucky.”
“I know.” Your Harry spoke up, pulling you back into his side with a tug of your hand. You smiled as he kissed the top of your head, feeling the butterflies all over. Your nerves were already calming just by having him close by like this.
“I need pictures of you two later, okay?” Harry Lambert warned you, knowing that you would both try and get out of it.
Once he had walked away, Harry walked you into the kitchen some more and dumped the cakes and flowers on the obscenely large kitchen counter. A chorus of hellos sounded as you both walked in the room and made yourselves present.
Harry took his time introducing you to every person, getting you to hug them as you did so. Everyone was so kind and lovely, complimenting you on your beauty and your outfit and your ability to bring out the best in Harry. You began to feel a little tearful towards the end of greeting people and after you were done you told Harry you were going to the toilet.
He didn’t think twice about it, until you still hadn’t come back after ten minutes. Yes, women stereotypically take longer than men in the toilet but ten minutes was quite long for you. So he went in search of you, seeing as you had to leave in five minutes anyways.
He went straight upstairs to his bedroom, knowing you would’ve chosen his bathroom rather than the downstairs one out of familiarity. He knocked on the door softly before opening it slowly. When he made it inside, he softly shut the door behind him to notice you weren’t in the bedroom. He rounded the corner to the bathroom and that’s when he saw you standing at the bathroom mirror with a tissue, drying away the tears that had clearly been running stray.
“Baby… What happened?” Harry cooed, walking in the room and urging you to face him by cupping your cheeks delicately.
You looked to the ceiling, trying to keep the next round of tears at bay, before shrugging your shoulders at Harry with a sad chuckle. “I don’t know what came over me! Just feeling a lot of emotions right now. Proud of you but then just feeling so loved and accepted by your friends.. It’s.. I.. Just, it’s a lot!” You laughed at how silly it sounded now you were trying to explain how you felt.
“Oh you emotional softie. You’re going to be a right water fountain today, aren’t you?” He rhetorically asked, but you nodded with a laugh regardless.
“I can’t control it!” You exclaimed, your eyes watering over again. Harry chuckled at you, eyes crinkling and dimples showing from smiling so hard. “I’m not even sad. If anything I’m too happy!”
“Well that’s a good thing, hmm?”
“Yes, it is. Sorry!” You apologised for crying, feeling silly. “This is so embarrassing.”
“Cry all you want, baby. It’s your day as much as it is mine. Any wins are yours to celebrate too.”
“Oh fuck off, you’re making me cry again…” You whined and Harry laughed along with your tears, before helping you reset your makeup in time to leave.
•••••••••
You were backstage at the Grammys, in a room large enough to house all of Harry’s friends and family he had brought with him.
Since you two weren’t publicly official, you decided it best if you stayed in the back room whilst Jeff, Kid and Tyler sat at the table with Harry.
You had cried so much already from Harry winning best pop vocal album and his performance was just absolutely perfect. Someone had even had to bring another box of tissues for you, since you’d finished the first one you had been given.
Anthony Pham had been taking photos of all the backstage fun and reactions, since Harry had asked to be kept updated on everything. Especially all of your reactions and enthusiasm. You had recorded yourself dancing and singing to his performance, ready to show him later.
“Oh my god, it’s the album of the year category.” Someone screamed and you pulled yourself away from the conversation you were having with Sarah to watch the screen.
You were already sitting on the sofa, but the next few moments of your life would be grateful for that.
The fans of the artists lined up on the stage, ready to give their respective artists the Grammy. Harry’s fan was an older woman and you aspired to be her when you were older. You couldn’t wait for the day you were 70 years old and still attending a Harry Styles concert with a feather boa. The woman was so cute and she reminded you of your grandma. Harry loved interacting with old people, so you were sure he would find her and hug her no matter the outcome of the award.
Trevor Noah stood centre stage and held the card in his hand. Everyone was on the edge of their seats waiting to hear the reveal for the biggest and most prestigious category the Grammys offered.
“And the Grammy for album of the year goes to…” Trevor said.
He opened the envelope and paused for dramatic effect.
You sat on the edge of the sofa, your leg bouncing anxiously. You clasped your hands together and stared at the screen so you didn’t miss a single moment.
You were confused when Trevor didn’t announce the winner and instead moved over the fan of Harry. People in the room around you started to gasp lightly, catching on to what might be. Then the woman shakily held onto Trevor as she said the name.
“H-Harry Styles.” She said before screaming in congratulations.
Your head fell into your hands as you sobbed. You had never cried so hard before, but this was an emotion worthy moment. Your sobs were heavy and loud, but they were silenced by the roar of cheers and laughter in the room. You were too buried in your hands to see, but everyone was up and screaming for Harry, running around the room. Sarah and Mitch had collapsed on one another in happiness.
Someone came and hugged you from where you were hunched over. “He did it, Y/N, he did it!” They screamed excitedly and you couldn’t help but just cry and cry. You had never felt pride like this.
Your emotions were so strong for someone who you’d only gotten to know for a mere five months. You were overwhelmed by how you felt for Harry in that moment, feeling nothing but… love.
Taking your face out of your hands you sat up and watched him with blurry eyes on the screen with his award. He himself looked really tearful and shaky with adrenaline. You just couldn’t put into words how you felt in that moment.
The next five minutes were a complete blur. From Harry accepting the award from the woman, to Harry’s speech with Tyler and Kid. After they walked offstage you started crying all over again the minute someone said; “Harry is a three time Grammy winner!”
You had no idea what you were going to say to him when you saw him, even if you saw him again tonight. No doubt he would be swept up in interviews, photos and parties. No matter, because you would have the rest of forever to express how proud you were of him.
Anthony was busy snapping photos and you reminded yourself to have a look at them later, when you could actually see past your blurry eyes.
As you started blowing your nose on a new tissue the uproar in the room started again and you shot your head around to see what was going on, only to see your boyfriend walk into the room with his Grammy held high. He cheered as his eyes watered, people patting him and ruffling his hair. Sarah gave him a tight hug and he kept on thanking her, no doubt because she had much of a part in the album as Harry did.
You kept back, wanting Harry to get treated with the love from his closest friends and family first. You kept crying, picking out new tissues from the box every twenty seconds from how quickly you were using them. You definitely knew you looked a state, shoulders shaking from crying and clapping your hands in cheer.
Harry’s eyes kept on you as he hugged the last few people, not turning his head away for one moment. You shook your head as you warned him not to come close, because he would only make the crying worse. You held out your hand to keep him at bay, walking backwards as he walked forwards. Harry was quicker than you, though, and used the arm not holding his Grammy to pick you up at the waist and give you a twirl. He spun you around, before safely landing you back down.
You laughed out a sob when you finally got to look up at him close. A strand of his hair had fallen down over his forehead, but you made no effort to move it back into place.
Cupping his cheeks with your shaky hands you licked your lips to wipe away the salty tears. His own tears were now silently falling, his eyes intensely focusing on you. His thumb was stroking soothing lines into your back and all you could think about was how he made you feel.
“Harry… I..” You started, hiccuping in between words.
Harry nodded encouragingly, “It’s okay. You can say it.” His eyebrows frowned as he anticipated what you’d say next.
“I.. I love you.” You said with a smile.
Harry smiled nodding. He knew that’s what you wanted to say, because luckily he felt exactly the same way about you.
“I fucking love you, Y/N L/N.” And his lips were on yours for the rest of the night. And the rest of forever.

my muse
harry styles x reader (masterlist)
summary: a lil blurb about the important moments leading up to Harry's wins, and little after <3
warnings: implied smut
Tumblr media
As they’ve grown up and gotten use to being in the spotlight, Y/n and Harry have learned to enjoy teasing their relationship to the public. They still play dumb in interviews, even when the evidence is stacked against them, but as Y/n and Harry get older, they start to not care about the publicity of relationship.
One of those ways was going to events together. Ever since they've gotten invites to these types of things, their plus one has always been each other; whether it was the grammys or the oscars, they always were right there to support each other.
Tonight was no exception.
Harry was fidgeting with the rings on his figures as they were in the limo, waiting in the queue to get out and walk the carpet. He lifted up the ring on his left ring fingure to reveal a tattoo, one that matched the one on Y/n's same finger.
Y/n noticed Harry’s gazed on the ink and nudged him. “Don’t tell me that’s the one tattoo you regret.”
Harry’s smiled and shook his head. “Never would regret marrying you.” The inked band was delicately done, matching their actual wedding bands perfectly. Y/n took off one of her rings to reveal her matching one too, putting her hand next to Harry’s larger one.
“You’re going to do great tonight.” Y/n reassured. She squeezed his hand three times, a simple thing they did for each other just as a way to show their love. “I love you.”
“I love you too.”
They were blinded by the lights before they got the knock of the window from Harry’s security team. For shaded windows they did nothing to stop the bright flashes.
"Ready?" Y/n nodded and slid her ring back on. She followed Harry out of the limo door and put on a smile.
"Harry! Harry! Look this way!"
"Y/n! Harry! Are you two official?"
"Harry! Are you going to go home with Y/n?"
They smiled as they posed for the cameras. After nearly ten years of the "are-they-aren't-they", you'd think they would get over it.
"Hey." Y/n whispered into Harry's ear. "You're doing a costume change right?"
"Yup."
“Want me to give you a pre-celebration present?” Y/n whispered, her voice airy and breathy against her husbands ear.
Harry gulped, not sure if she’s implying what he thinks he is—he’s been caught out too many times with misinterpreting her comments. “What-ah, would that be?”
“Head.”
He gave a flashy grin for the camera.
“Thank you for the pictures but I think it’s time we should go.” Harry announces to the photographers and interviewers lined up. He causes a commotion, but when does he not? He doesn’t care as he grabs Y/n’s hand.
~~
“I think that’s a new record.” Y/n jokes as she fixes her lipstick. “Get off from the couch and fix your hair. You look like a mess.”
“That was so good.” Harry practically moaned, still in his post orgasm high. “That thing you did with your tongue was truly some really great work.”
Harry was spread out on the couch of a small yet lavish room for performers of the night. It had a vanity, bathroom and small kitchen area inside--Harry thought he could live here.
“Nothing fancy.” She mumbled, but Harry wasn't yet done.
“And your hand groping my thighs and balls.” Harry gasped. "So good."
“Styles!” A loud bang, a distinct one at that. “Put your clothes on! I don’t want another Munich situation!”
Harry’s dazed was cut short by tripping over his old outfit—didn’t even take it fully off before Y/n went down on him—and racing to the hanger with his outfit for the evening. He knew that angry pounding on the door, and he did not want Jeff to see him naked again.
Y/n was giggling as she fixed her hair and got some spray to keep her makeup in place. "Stop ya laughin'"
Y/n shook her head as she got up from the vanity chair and opened the door, peeking her head out. "Jeff."
"Y/n." Jeff sighed and stifled a laugh. "Is he getting dressed?"
"Yup."
"Alright, just be out in five. Make sure he looks good."
"Will do."
She shut the door and was met with Harry tucking in his shimmery tank and buttoning the pants. Y/n smiled as Harry looked up, causing him to grin.
"Wha?" Harry grinned, walking over to his love. "Want another round? Could pay ya back."
"As much as I would love that I think Jeff is ready to kill us." They giggled as they lightly kissed, foreheads resting on each other.
"I love you."
"I love you too."
~
"And the grammy, for Album of the year goes to..." Trevor Noah held his breath as he opened the envelope, smiling as he read out the card. "Harry Styles, Harry's House!"
Applause rang out as Harry cupped his face with his hands and then reached over to topple onto Y/n--who was frozen with shock--engulfing her in the tightest hug they've had since their wedding.
"I-I won." He voice was shaky, breathless despite sitting. "They called my name right?"
They broke apart, staring deep into each others eyes as Y/n nodded, eyes watering. "Yeah, go accept your award!”
She pushed Harry away, towards the stairs and the award. Lizzo was filming their hug and kept her camera focused on Y/n a bit longer before she flipped it round and filmed her face.
"Shit." Harry's voice rang out. "Thank you for this award. Since it's a big one, I want to explain this album a bit more."
Harry cleared his throat before he spoke. "I wrote this album for my person. Someone that has been by my side for everything in my life. All of the big things and all of the things that caused me to go to my lowest, you've been there, and I hope you could tell by this album."
Harry looked at y/n directly, something that was not missed by the room.
"I always keep you in my heart, especially when I can't be with you physically. Writing about you makes it seem like you're there right beside me. And I want you to know how much I love you when we are apart, when you can't reach me or my mum won't let me hang up the phone."
Harry sighed, not sure what to say next, except for one thing.
"For family." Harry lifted up the grammy and applause rang out. He was escorted off the to the side of stage, making sure to catch one last look at his muse. He didn't want to be apart from her for much longer. He wanted to go spend time with her, but of course, photos needed to be done.
He tried to reach for his phone in his pocket every now and then, wanting to call his mum and sister, tell them the big news even though he knew they would be home watching it on their telly—no doubt they were calling Y/n as he poses for some updates on the boy—but he left it with y/n who no doubt was taking a bunch of photos of herself while waiting.
Harry ment everything he said about his family, his with his wife and child, even the little critters that he wasn't too sure of at first; Harry just couldn't believe his life was going this perfect.
Once he was finally released from the photographers hold, Harry ran back to Y/n, making a couple wrong turns along the way, but eventually running in to the girl he was looking for in a small room outside of where they were filming the show.
"I won!" Harry's voice broke, nearly in tears again as Y/n's head whipped from who she was talking to--Adele, who quickly excused herself with a smile-- to embrace her love.
"I'm so proud of you!" They squeezed each other until both could hardly breath. "You deserved both of those grammys, love."
She started peckering a bunch of kisses all over his face, hands now squeezing his so squeezable face. "What do you want to do now? Go back to the show? After party? I got us invited to a couple so you can pick-"
"I kind of want to head home." Harry admitted. "Spend some time with you and the babe. That's all I want now."
Y/n smiled, giving him one last kiss on his little stumble. "Not even sex?"
Thats caused Harry to smile, kissing her cheek. "As enticing as that sounds I think it would be best to keep that for the morning." Harry sighed, starring into the mother of his child, his wife, his love, his one and only's eyes. "I love you. More than anything I could describe."
"You're going to make me cry." Harry's own eyes started to water, kissing the corner of her eye. He pulled her down the hall, to the back, where he organized a limo to be able to drop them off home whenever they pleased. Now seemed like a good time.
Harry came, saw, and conquered. Now, all he wanted to do was spend time at home with the ones who mattered.

It’s Pronounced ‘Breasts’
in which Harry gets embarrassed and Angel Baby goes to the Grammys.
im back agaaainnnn
“What’d she just say?”
There’s nothing he wants to do more than to succumb to the belly laugh that’s bubbling in his throat. With a hot face, breath held and eyes practically watering he manages to ward it off. Not because he actually wants to, but because he glanced over at you; mouth agape in horror, eyes blown real wide in unison.
You did not think it was funny. At all.
There’s a pudgy, proud-faced toddler sat adjacent from you both; hair spilling down her back in thick waves with a neatly tied bow a-top her head, cheeks rosy and flush as her round baby face starts contorting in amusement. Harry’s team is swallowing their chuckles, eyes boggling each other to silently confirm the word that just flew from your daughter’s mouth.
That very familiar shit-eating grin she inherited (from Harry, not you, and you never let him live it down) was touted confidently. The only person who wanted Harry to unleash that laugh more than he did was angel baby.
“Maybe we misheard ‘er?” he has to choke the words out to shoo off his giggle.
And he sucks in a breath when the back of your hand roughly collides with the side of his arm, not long followed by a very unkind side eye. You mutter something under your breath, something he couldn’t quite make out entirely but well-versed enough to know it was nothing nice.
“Baby,” your voice is soft as you lock in on angel baby, but stern enough so that your point hits home as best it can for the barely 1 year old, “that’s a no no word, ok? That is not nice.”
There’s no way you don’t find it funny, he thinks. It’s a little funny. Especially because angel baby isn’t quite processing what the big deal is. She’s just sat sweetly, eyes doe-like and unbeknownst. And when you open your mouth to say something again, you’re interrupted by a squeaky little voice that confirms you absolutely did not mishear her.
“Titties!”
At this point Harry just cuts loose. It’s a gut-ripping laugh that he couldn’t hold down after angel baby doubled down. What ensues is laughter from everyone else in the room. Because, well, Harry’s laughing was the only green light they needed.
Your face, flushed with a dangerous combination of embarrassment and irritation, sends Harry a warning look amidst your quick reach to pick up angel baby. She squeals pleasingly once she takes notice to how she managed to get daddy’s sides splitting, on top of the collective few still bold enough to laugh. There’s nothing angel baby loves more than an audience, a character trait she undoubtedly gets from her father.
The tone in your voice as you reprimand the toddler is enough to give Harry the magnitude of the lecture he’s sure he’ll get about it later, but undoubtedly worth the risk. Angel baby, at the ripe age of 1 years old, can’t grasp the gravity of the issue either.
“G’head and laugh,” your lamenting is just white noise to him at this point, “enable it like it’s not inappropriate!”
Perched precociously on your hip, grin prominent as ever with dazzled eyes, Harry only guffaws harder at the fact angel baby is pleased with the rise she's gotten out of everyone. Especially you.
“Can y’blame her” he mewls standing up, finger going to brush a few face-framing curls from her eyes, “m’honestly thinking th’same, you in that dress n’all. ”
He coos in adoration at the baby on your hip because, honestly, there’s next to nothing she can do or say to get him to see her as anything other than an absolute angel. And he wiggles his eyebrows at you, paying an ode to the cleavage adoring your chest.
“Christ, Harry,” you groan, apologizing to the collective of people stifling chuckles, “can you just back me up here?”
“Y’right,” he admits in unison with a head nod, clearing his throat before forcing himself to get serious “Button, it’s not polite t’say that.”
And, though the moment is incredibly fleeting, you feel a sense of relief that Harry’s managed to see your point. It’s short lived in the most humbling way.
“It’s pronounced breasts, m’love.”
A groan comes tumbling out of you before you hobble off, angel baby giggling as she catches Harry doubling over in laughter again. You mouth a quiet fuck you to him from the door, neck arched to turn your head to glance at him behind you, before following his assistant out of the bedroom and down the hallway.
“M’sorry,” his voice is distant, though he's scurrying to catch up, “c’mon it was too easy!”
He’s mumbling apologies to you, though they’re often stunted by laughter, for the bulk of the evening. And on the red carpet, he can feel his face get hot. Not from the assortment of cameras and flashes, or people yelling his name, but from the toddler clad in designer adorning his hip. Because as he goes to kiss her cheek for a photo, she whispers her newfound word of the day in his ear.
“Daddy,” and her smirk is awe’d at by groups of people, “titties.”
His lips pucker to avoid laughter because, for starters, she’s not a skilled whisperer. So of course, you’re close enough in ear shot to overhear. There’s no way you’ll fold to anger on the red carpet at the Grammy’s, but you’ll fold to it as soon as you get him alone. And while, ok yes, it’s pretty funny when she says it, he’s realizing his 1 year old has a newfound affinity for boobs.
“Maybe y’were right,” his voice is hushed as he leans closer to you at the table, “y’know, ‘bout the thing earlier, at th’house.”
They’re announcing album of the year, and the two of you wave gleefully when the camera twirls to give viewers a shot of him as one of the nominees, so he’s trying to be as demure as humanly possible. But once that camera wanders elsewhere, you seep your smile but the tone is serious through gritted teeth,
“You broke it,” and you smile again when they open the winner’s envelope, “you fix it.”
He goes to say something else while adjusting angel baby on his lap, but he’s abrupt cut off. A wave of cheers and celebratory back pats ensue promptly after his name is read off. And you can compartmentalize, so you stand up and pocket the discussion to congratulate him with a kiss. With angel baby sandwiched between you, he bounces her up and down before planting her back to his side before he starts his trek on stage.
You’re too wrapped up in the excitement, the overcoming proud feeling that’s absolutely permeating the table, to fully digest the fact he’s toted angel baby up on stage to accept his award alongside him. In fact, it’s not until he’s halfway through his speech that you notice.
“And of course,” he wins a room full of coos bouncing the giggly baby on his hip, “m’little co-writer ‘ere. A real way with words, this little one. Say g’night, peach!”
Hand to God, on everything you love, at no point did you think Harry bringing angel baby on stage would go awry. Naturally, you had your reservations; big room of people, an abundance of cameras,
With her hair falling past her shoulders, grin a mile wide and cheeks rosy as she puts her mouth just above the mic, she breaths right into it, “titties!”

Once they finished with the carpet, they made their way inside where they were ushered to their seats at a table with the rest of Harry’s team. They chat while they wait for the show to start. As people enter the venue and move to their seats, many stop to greet Harry and congratulate him on the success of the album. Whenever that happened, Harry made it a point to introduce them to Y/N as the ‘mastermind behind it all’, causing her to blush, and him to laugh.
The show begins, and they watch as other artists perform and awards get handed out. Harry and Y/N sneak glances and smirks, knowing exactly what they’re trying to convey to each other without the use of their words.
As they got closer to Harry’s performance, Y/N noticed the tell-tale signs that Harry was starting to get nervous, so she reached for his hand under the table, lacing her hand into his to calm him. He grips her hand tightly and smiles gratefully at her.
She leans in close, to whisper in his ear. “One thing at a time, just focus on the performance right now, that’s the only thing that you have any control over tonight. The award is what it is, but you make or break the performance.”
Harry smiled and nodded, but from the moment they entered the auditorium, all he could do was picture the two of them on that stage, accepting an award together. He wanted her to have this moment, and he wanted to be a part of it.
Before long, one of the producers came to retrieve Harry for his performance. Y/N stands with him and pulls him into a tight hug, whispering in his ear as she runs a soothing hand up and down his back. “You’ve got this. If you get nervous, or overwhelmed or anything, I’m right here. Just look for me, I’ve got you.”
“You always do.” He whispers back before kissing her cheek and stepping out of the embrace. He follows the producer backstage, and Y/N takes her seat.
Y/N watches the show as she tries to keep her thoughts on Harry and his performance, and away from the fact that they were that much closer to the end of the show, and the awarding of Album of the Year. She was quickly pulled from her thoughts when she heard Harry’s name announced, and the lights lowered. She stood from her seat with a big smile on her face.
The performance went off without a hitch, it was well received by the crowd, they were on their feet dancing and singing along. His voice was flawless and his moves were on point, but more than that, he felt great about it. He was feeding off of the energy of the audience, and felt fully redeemed from his previous Grammy performance.
The final notes are played and he hits a final pose. The audience cheers and applauds, and he bows before rushing off stage to change back into his suit and return to his seat, and to Y/N.
“Did you see that?!” He beams to Y/N as he returns to his seat.
Y/N looks at Harry with wide eyes. “Oh no, you performed already? I must have missed it, I was in the bathroom!” She says teasingling.
“Very funny, you are hilarious.” He says sarcastically. “Okay, let me rephrase, did you see how amazing I was?”
She wraps her arms around him in a quick hug. “The most amazing. And you had the audacity to be nervous.”
Harry laughs and shakes his head. “Yeah yeah yeah, you were right…”
As the show begins winding down, the final presenter of the night steps on stage. As she presents the nominees, Harry slips his hand into Y/N’s and squeezes. They look into each other’s eyes and smile nervously.
“And the Grammy goes to…”
Harry and Y/N slide their chairs a little closer, and then it happens. Harry’s name is announced. It’s as if time freezes for both of them. Harry snaps out of it first, standing to his geet and pulling Y/N with him, wrapping her in his arms and burying his face in her neck.
“We did it?” Y/N whispers in a state of shock.
Harry closes his eyes and pulls his head back, opening them to meet hers. “You’re goddamned right we did.” He replies with the brightest smile she’d ever seen from him. Harry pulls out of the hug, linking his hand with hers and walking to the stage side by side.
“We’re in this together, you and me.” He whispers to her as they ascend the steps to the stage.
“Okay, but you talk first.” She replies.
They step toward the microphone, and Harry is handed the trophy. He takes it with his free hand, keeping his other linked with hers. Y/N looks out over the crowd, her eyes glistening with tears as the moment sinks in. She grips Harry’s hand tightly, like a lifeline.
Harry takes a few deep breaths and looks over at Y/N before turning back to the microphone. “Wow…” He starts off with a deep sigh. “This whole album started one night on the beach in Italy, I was figuring out what was next for me, and while I didn’t know what it was, I knew who would help me get there, and I couldn’t have been more right. I am so proud of this record, and the person I became while we were making it, and none of it would have been possible without this wonderful woman beside me.” He holds up their joined hands.
“Of course, I owe all the thanks to my amazing team, my family, my friends, my fans, but more than anything, I owe everything to Y/N. This album would not have been possible without her. She’s not only the most talented producer I could have asked for, but she’s also my best friend in the world. Her support and kindness throughout the years are a big part of the reason that I’ve gotten here.” He turns and locks eyes with her before continuing. “Y/N, thank you so much for this and for your unwavering love and support.”
Y/N uses her free hand to wipe away a stray tear as she takes a shuttered breath. Before she has a chance to push back, Harry tugs her hand so that she’s now standing in front of the microphone. She looks over at Harry, he can see the slight panic in her eyes, and he winks at her, giving her a reassuring smile.
“Well… okay… wow… First things first, I need to thank my mother for being nothing but supportive. When I told her at fourteen years old that I wanted to be a producer, she stood behind me and never doubted that I would be standing here someday.”
She takes a deep breath and shoots a quick glance at Harry. “I also want to share one quick story. Fifteen years ago, I was lucky enough to land my dream internship at a recording studio. I was at the bottom of the barrel, just trying to make connections and get my foot in the door in the music industry. One day, this newly formed boy band from a television show in the UK came in to work on their first album. I was in the lounge, enjoying the brief moment of calm that I would get in a typical day and two of them walked in and introduced themselves. One of them was very sweet and polite. The other was Harry Styles.” She pauses as the audience chuckles, she can also hear Harry laughing beside her, but she keeps her eyes forward, she knows she won’t be able to get through this if she looks at him right now.
“He was this seventeen year old, floppy haired ball of energy with this big dimpled smile who refused to leave me alone. He followed me around the studio incessantly, asking me questions and begging me for my instagram handle. I never had a little brother, but meeting Harry made me realize what I had been missing. And I immediately thanked my parents for giving me a sister instead. For some reason, he was insistent on befriending me, and I will forever be grateful that he was. I got to watch this annoying little teenager grow into an incredible man. As amazing and kind as everyone always says Harry Styles is, I can assure you, he’s one hundred times better than that. I have been so honored to call him my friend all of these years, but to take the relationship to this whole new level and be able to work with him was a dream. It was the most fun I've ever had in a job, and the hardest I’ve ever worked. This album means everything to me, so to have it recognized is a great honor. Harry did all of the work, I just pushed buttons. He’s always told me I was good at pushing his buttons, but I had no idea I was this good.”
The crowd chuckles again, this time she looks over at Harry, and sees his eyes glistening, and a few tears rolling down his cheeks. He chuckles at her joke, and the wrap up music begins to play. “And there’s nobody’s buttons I’d rather push.”
She looks back out at the crowd, “So thanks to all of you,” she turns back and locks eyes with Harry once again. “But the biggest thanks goes to you, Harry. Thank you, and I am eternally grateful to have you in my life.”
As Y/N steps away from the microphone, the audience is on their feet applauding. As the two of them walk offstage, Harry unlinks their hands, instead wrapping his arm around her shoulder and pulling her close.
Once they get backstage, Y/N wraps her arms around Harry and begins crying into his shoulder. Harry holds her tightly, his own tears falling. “I’m so proud of you,” Harry whispers into her hair. “You talked so much.” He says with a small chuckle, knowing how much she hated public speaking.
“I love you, Har. Thank you, thank you for the last fifteen years.”
“I love you too,” he whispers in reply. The two of them stand there in each other's arms, completely oblivious to everyone around them, the pictures being snapped, the videos being taken.
The whole world fades away as they hold each other. Both of them are overwhelmed by the emotion and everything that has led them to this point. Every struggle, every fight, every long stretch they had to spend apart, it was all worth it to get to this moment.
Y/N pulls away first, her watery eyes meeting his. They stare in silence for a moment before Y/N makes an unexpected move and leans in, pressing her lips to his. Harry doesn’t miss a beat, his hands move to her hips and pulls her against him, kissing her back passionately. The moment lasts for what feels like an eternity. When they finally pull away, they rest their foreheads together, their chests heaving, and hearts pounding. Harry’s eyes remain closed as he lets the moment wash over him.
“Sorry…” Y/N says through a broken whisper.
Harry shakes his head and opens his eyes. “Don’t be sorry,” he replies softly. “This may be the most perfect moment of my entire life.”
Y/N is about to open her mouth to say something else, but they are interrupted by a stagehand who ushers them to the press room for photos and interviews.
Just before they step into the room, Y/N looks up at Harry, “Does my makeup look okay? I just did a lot of crying…” She chuckles softly as she wipes the last of her tears away.
“You look absolutely beautiful.” He reaches up, and helps her brush a tear away with his thumb. She shutters slightly at the touch.
They’re both handed a trophy to pose with. They look at each other, each taking a deep breath and stepping into the press area. As soon as they enter, flashbulbs start going off, and their names are called from every direction. Harry immediately takes her hand and the two of them stand together, posing for pictures. Harry moves his hand from hers and places it on the small of her back.
After a few minutes, the flashes die down and the press begin asking their questions.
“How does it feel to win?” One reporter asks.
“Well, it’s old hat for Harry at this point, but for me, it doesn’t really feel real yet. I’ve had this dream so many times that I think it’s going to take time for it to sink in.” Y/N chuckles and looks over to Harry.
“Any time my work is recognized, it’s a surprise and an honor. But to win with my best friend, it’s one of the greatest feelings in the world.”
Y/N looks over at Harry with a sweet smile, and he throws an arm over her shoulder.
Another reporter speaks up, with their question. “What is the secret to the success of your friendship? After fifteen years, to be this close, how does that happen?”
Y/N and Harry look at each other and laugh, they aren’t really sure how to answer that question, because it’s something they’ve never really thought about.
“Honestly, I can’t say I have an answer to that,” Harry starts. “We’ve never really had to try, everything just falls into place when we’re together. I guess the secret is to not think about it?” He chuckles and looks to Y/N for her response.
“I don’t think there really is a secret,” she shrugs. “There are people in this world that just click, and that’s always just been Harry and I. I think it happens because we get each other, we have the same sense of humor, we like a lot of the same things, but we also have our own things, so there’s always something new to share or talk about.”
The reporters all raise their hands, hoping to be selected. Harry points to one of them. “There has been a lot of speculation about a romantic relationship between the two of you, and there’s an undeniable chemistry there. Do you want to address any of those rumors tonight?”
Y/N’s body tenses at the question. Five minutes ago, it would have been an easy answer. But they had just shared that kiss, and in that moment, something inside of her changed. Were they just friends? Or had something more always been lingering just below the surface?
“I’ve never been one to speak publicly about my relationships, I like to keep my private life just that. But what I will say is that this woman, right here, is an invaluable part of my life, and she always will be.” He grins at the press, hoping that will be enough to fend off the personal questions. Y/N smiles up at him gratefully, for the way he handled the question.
“We have time for one more.” the producer running the press conference chimes in.
Y/N selects the final reporter, and they ask their question.
“Given the success of this album, do you think you’ll work together on future projects?”
“I don’t know,” Harry says cautiously. “This one here has just become a commodity, she may get too busy and leave me in the dust.”
The crowd laughs and Y/N slaps his chest playfully. “Don’t be an idiot.” She says, causing more laughter. “Honestly, I have no idea why it took us so long to do this in the first place. No matter how busy I am, or what I’m working on, if this guy calls, I’m making time.”
Harry and Y/N pose for a couple more quick pictures before being ushered out of the press area. The producer thanks them for their time and lets them know they are free to go for the evening.
Once they’re alone, Harry lets out a deep sigh and scrubs his hand over his face.
“That was… a lot…” Y/N sighs.
Harry nods in agreement. “That it was, but we survived.” He offers her a tired smile, the whirlwind evening finally catching up to him.
Y/N studies his expression, she can see the exhaustion in his face, and can feel it in herself as well. “Wanna head back to the room and order a ton of room service?”
He looks at her, his brows rounded in surprise. “It’s your first Grammy awards, you don’t want to go to the after parties?”
She shakes her head. “No way, you know I’m not a big party person. Besides, this is our night, right?” Harry nods. “So why would I want to celebrate with a bunch of ass kissers who didn’t care about me, or even know I existed six months ago? If it’s our night, we should celebrate together.”
Harry chuckles and offers his arm. “You do make a compelling argument.” She takes his arm and he leads her out to the lobby area to find their car.

Harry Styles Imagine: College AU! The Eras Tour
Tumblr media
Warnings: college!reader, fem!reader, mentions of anxiety, age gap
September 2023
“Hey luv?” I hear Harry call out for me from the bedroom.
“What’s up?” I say as I walk in holding my laptop so I can continue the homework I had been working on.
“Do you still have a lot of homework to do?” he asks, and I look up from what I was doing and look at him, placing the laptop on the dresser and walking over to him, standing next to him as he sits at the edge of the bed.
“Um yes and no. Why?”
“I have a surprise for you, and I don’t think I can keep it a secret anymore,” he says, and I step in between his legs and rest my arms over his shoulders.
“What is it?” I say, and then lean forward and give him a kiss. “You know how I feel about surprises,” I say when I pull back and he laughs.
“Yes, to quote you ‘as long as you know every detail ahead of time you love surprises.’ They just can’t be blindfolded in the car with no idea what is happening,” he says laughing.
“Absolutely correct. I mean, I have really strong deduction skills, so usually even if I’m blindfolded in the car I can still figure it out, but then I feel bad and act as though I didn’t. As long as I know exactly what is happening at least a day prior to it happening it can be a surprise.”
“Right. Well this surprise is two months in advance, so hopefully that is plenty of time,” he says with a small laugh and I smile.
“Okay so gimme. Or tell me. Whichever applies in this situation,” I say, and he gently grabs my waist and pushes me back so he can stand up. He gives me a quick kiss and then turns us.
“You sit on the bed, and turn the tv on. I need to grab my phone so I can airplay this to the television,” he says, and I do what he said. I sit on the bed with my legs crossed under me,  right at the end of the bed so I’m closer to the TV and grab the remote, turning it on. He walks back into the room right as I get it pulled up to the airplay screen, and connects his phone. All I can see is a black screen, so I look at him with a look of confusion.
“Are you ready?” he asks, and I smile.
“Babe, I’ve been ready. What is going on?”
“Okay so you know how at the Grammy’s I got to talk to Taylor for a little?” he asks, and I nod my head, remembering the conversation we had afterwards. “Okay well we talked a little about you, and I left that out when I first told you the story because with your school schedule I didn’t know if we could make anything work.”
“Make what work?” I ask him, grabbing his hand.
“Just wait. Anyway, I talked to her about you that night, told her all about you, told her how we met, how much I love you, all sorts of things like that,” he says, and my jaw drops.
“You told Taylor Swift about me? The Taylor Swift? Your ex-girlfriend Taylor Swift?” I say, a look of shock completely taking over my face.
“Yes. What other Taylor Swift is there? And why wouldn't I tell her? We may not be engaged yet but I do fully intend on marrying you,” he says, and then places a quick kiss on my lips before pulling back and continuing. “I also told her about how when she announced her tour  you got all excited and waited in the ticketmaster queue and didn’t get any tickets and how sad you were, she had an idea. So I needed the airplay to show you the video I got from her, for you, the other day,” he says, and then takes my chin in his hand, and gently turns it towards the TV.
“Hey Y/N!” the video starts as the screen lights up and Taylor appears on the screen. “I’ve heard so much about you from that amazing man of yours! You chose a good man,” she says, and I turn to Harry really quick, just for him to point me back to the screen, causing me to turn back. “He texted me last week and told me he had worked out a day for you guys to come to a show. So you better start looking for an outfit, because on November 11th you will be coming to the Eras Tour in Buenos Aires!” she exlcaims in the video, and I look at Harry, only to be pointed towards the screen again. “Not only will you be here but I told Harry I could get you guys into the friends and family tent, and I have some more surprises for you when you get here. I am so excited to meet you!” she says, and then the video ends, and  I just sit there staring at the screen in silence, unmoving.
“Luv?” Harry questions from next to me after I’ve been sitting there for probably a minute.
“Hm?” I hum, still not moving my eyes or turning my body from the blank screen in front of me.
“Are you… um… still with me?”
“I’m physically still here. My mind is blown though,” I say, finally turning my head to look at him. “I mean, you got your ex-girlfriend to not only give us tickets to her sold out show, but put us in her friends and family tent. I didn’t realize the two of you were so close.”
“Y/N, are you jealous?” he asks with a teasing lilt in his voice.
“Yes and no. I’m half still in shock, and half jealous because she’s Taylor Swift, a famous popstar, and your ex, and I’m just… me,” I say, looking down at my hands.
“You don’t actually believe that do you?” he asks, taking my hands in one of his, and lifting my chin up with the other. “She may be my ex, and a popstar, but you are everything to me. You light up my sad days, you care about hearing about my days, how recording is going, how my family is. You are the person I want to come home to,” he says and then presses a quick kiss to my lips. “ Now, if this makes you uncomfortable and you don’t want to go I would complete-” he starts, and I cut him off, placing my hand over his mouth.
“Nope, we’re going. I’ve wanted this for so long. I just got a little jealous and insecure. I want to go and meet Taylor Swift. Can you imagine if we hit it off and become  best friends? I’d be part of her crew and…” I keep going as Harry just laughs and pulls me in for a hug, placing a kiss on my forehead.
“There’s my girl,” he mutters as I continue jabbering on.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
October 2023
“I can’t believe you hired Lambert to put together era’s tour outfits for us,” I say as I stand in front of the garment bags that are hanging over our closet doors.
“It was stressing you out, and you needed to focus on school. It was nothing. Basically it was the same as the outfits for the last show on tour, just different outfits” he says, wrapping his arms around me and placing a kiss on the top of my head.
“So can I look yet?” I ask, toying with the zipper on the bag that has my name on it.
“Is your homework done?” he asks with a teasing lilt.
“Yes it’s done. I wouldn’t be standing in the bedroom if it wasn’t. These garment bags have been teasing me since I got home and came in here to change,” I respond with a little eye roll, and he squeezes my waist before letting me go.
“Go ahead. Open that bag up,” he says, and I take the step it takes to reach the garment bag and yank the zipper down.
“Wow. Lambert really kills it every time,” I say as I reach out to touch the fabric of the dress.
“Yeha, ‘at’s why I keep hiring ‘im,” Harry says, and I laugh.
“Is there shoes that go with it?” I ask, turning back to Harry and walking towards him, wrapping my arms around his waist.
“Yes and no. He got a pair of shoes for you to wear with the outfit, but I thought you might like some shoes that were more comfy,” he says, and unwinds from me, before walking into the closet. “So I’m going to show you both options, and over the next month you can make the choice before we leave.”
“Babe, we both know I’m going to pretend like I want to wear the uncomfortable ones, but I will wind up wearing the comfy ones,” I say as he steps back into the bedroom.
“Exactly. Hence why you have two options. Okay, here are the uncomfortable ones,” he says, and holds out a shoebox. I take it from him and open it.
“Okay but these are really cute,” I say, putting the box on the bed and taking one of the boots out. “And they would go perfectly with the outfit. And they probably wouldn’t be that uncomfortable,” I say, and then slip it on. I slip the other one on and then stand up and walk around the room. “These aren’t so bad. They just feel like boots.”
“Well they are an option. Do you want to see the comfortable pair?”
“Have you met me?” I ask as I sit down on the edge of the bed and start to take the boots off. Right as I get the second one off Harry steps in front of me holding a box of Converse. “Ooh Converse,” I say as I take them out of his hand, and he laughs.
“I know you better than you think I do,” he says, pressing a kiss to my forehead before moving next to me and putting the boots back in the box as I take the Converse out.
“These also match perfectly!” I exclaim as I look at them. “Did you pick these or did Lamb pick them?”
“I picked these. Lambert sent me pictures before he finalized them, and I saw the shoes, so I went online and ordered you these because I knew they’d get here around the same time.”
“Babes I’m gonna be honest, these will definitely be the shoes I wind up wearing at the concert. However I’ll wear the boots on a date night or something,” I tell him, placing the box next to me and reaching out for him. “Can we go to bed now?” I ask, shoving both shoeboxes to the side and laying back.
“Yeah,” he says with a laugh. “But before that did you want to see the outfit he put together for me?” he asks, and I sit back up.
“Yes! I got so distracted that I forgot!” I exclaim, and he walks over to the closet, pulling the zipper on his garment bag down. “Midnights!” I exclaim, jumping up and walking over to him and his garment bag. “This is great! I would have put you in something 1989 style because… well… You know. But this is even better! It is so close to your style!”
“Well Lambert has been dressing me for years now, he would know my style,” he says, and I laugh. “He also said that he considered something 1989 style, but ultimately decided on this. And I’m wearing my pair of Satellite stompers from the Grammy’s.”
“It was a good choice. You’re gonna look great,” I say, and then grab his hand. “I would love to go to sleep now,” I say, and he laughs, allowing me to tug him to the bed with me.

“This is so exciting!” I exclaim as we deboard our plane in Buenos Aires. “It’s so pretty here!”
“It is,” Harry replies, wrapping his arm around me as soon as we are both back on solid ground. “So, I have a question,” he says as we climb into the car that was waiting for us.
“Okay, hit me with it,” I say as I settle in next to him.
“Would you like to go to dinner with Taylor and Travis?” he asks, and I choke on the drink of water I had been taking.
“WhAt?” I ask once I can breathe again.
“Taylor invited us to dinner. Would you like to go?” he repeats, and I just gape at him.
“What?” I ask again, still in shock.
“I know you heard what I said and that you’re just in shock. So I’m just going to let you sit there in this,” he says with a smile, and leans over and places a kiss on my forehead. I sit there in silence, still shocked by the question for another few minutes.
“What time?” are the first two words I mutter after probably five minutes.
“Around 7:30,” he says, and I look at the time.
“Yeah I would like to go,” I say, looking at him.
“Are you sure? I know there’s a lot of things running through your mind right now. You can say no. I’ll understand, and so will they,” he says, and I smile and scoot closer to him on the bench seat.
“You know me so well. But yeah. I’m sure. It’s going to be amazing,” I tell him, and then press my lips to his.
A few hours later I’m standing in front of the mirror in our hotel room.
“I feel like this looks awful,” I say, running my hands over the dress I had put on for this dinner.
“You look amazing. And honestly, I have a feeling that Taylor will be wearing something similar,” Harry says, holding my satellite stompers from the last show up in the air.
“No, I feel like I should wear nice shoes,” I say, grabbing a pair of heels from the floor.
“Okay. If you think you’ll be comfortable,” he says, and I nod.
“I’ll be okay. It’s dinner. Mostly sitting anyway,” I say, and then sit on the edge of the bed to put them on. I slip them on, and then hold my foot out. “Will you buckle these?” I ask Harry, and he laughs, before kneeling on the floor and grabbing my foot. When he finishes buckling one shoe he drops my foot and taps my other leg, and I lift that foot towards him and he buckles that one as well.
“Wow,” I say when I stand up a moment later. “I forgot that in these shoes I’m almost as tall as you.” He laughs and tugs me to him, pulling me in for a kiss.
“Are you ready to go?” he asks when he releases me, and I laugh nervously.
“Yep. Let’s go,” I say, the nerves coming through my voice.
“How are you feeling?” he asks as we step into the elevator.
“What do you mean?” “I mean, you’re nervous and I want to make sure you’re okay,” he says, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me into him.
“I’m going to word vomit all my feelings on you, is that okay?” I say, looking up and into his eyes.
“Luv, o’ course it’s okay,” he says, pressing a quick kiss to my forehead. “You’ve been doing it since I met you. It’s one of the things I love about you.”
“Okay that’s sweet and you’re amazing. Here is all of my thoughts and feelings,” I say, and then pause and take a deep breath. “Okay, so, I know that since I am with you it has become more common for me to meet celebrities and I should not be this nervous. I’ve just looked up to her for as long as I can remember,” I pause for another breath as we step out of the elevator and start walking through the lobby of the hotel.
“I’ve listened to her music since I was 7. Her music is so important to me, and knowing I’m about to meet the person whose music I turn on anytime I need to feel comfort. And the work she does empowering women, and using her fame to help people understand who they’re voting for. Knowing that she also suffers from the fear of disappointing or upsetting people. She’s just so important to me and the idea of meeting her is so amazing and one of the few things I have wanted for so long, and yet I am so terrified. What if I word vomit at dinner?”
“Oh love,” he says, and stops walking,  pulling me fully into him, wrapping his arms completely around me. “She is going to love you. You don’t need to worry about being anything other than yourself. You’re amazing as is. I am so excited for you to meet her, because I believe that you two could be good friends.” He presses another quick kiss to my forehead, and then takes my hand, leading the two of us out of the hotel to the waiting car. “Plus,” he says as he shuts the door behind him when we’re both in the car. “Who cares if you word vomit? Literally no one. It’s so adorable.”
“I’m 100 percent sure you are the only person in the world who thinks my word vomit is adorable,” I tell him, leaning into him on the seat. He laughs and takes my hands in his, gently rubbing them as we drive towards the restaurant.
“Hey, one thing I want to do for you before we go in, to help calm your nerves,” he says, and I close my eyes, knowing where he is going with this. “One thing you can taste.”
“The breath mint I popped in my mouth when we got in the car.”
“Two things you can smell.”
“Clean car and your cologne. You smell amazing by the way,” I say, keeping my eyes  closed but turning towards him with a smile. He laughs and presses a kiss to my forehead before continuing.
“Three things you can hear.”
“You breathing, the other cars on the road, the quiet music that is playing.”
“Good job. Four things you can feel.”
“The mint melting in my mouth. Your hands rubbing mine. The press of your leg on mine. Um, my eyelashes fluttering on my cheeks.”
“Okay, good job. Last one honey, open your eyes,” he says, and I open them, blinking fast to clear them up. “Five things you can see,” he says, and I lean into him.
“Your eyes. The inside of the car. The anchor on your arm. A car passing by. The necklace I gave you with a charm from my charm bracelet,” I say, and he pulls me in for a kiss as soon as I finish talking.
“You did amazing. Do you feel a bit better?” he asks, and I nod.
“Thank you. I love you,” I say, and he leans back in for another kiss.
“If it helps, I’m a little nervous too because I’m meeting my ex's new boyfriend, and having dinner with the two of them,” he says, and I just laugh and lay my head down on his chest.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
“Y/N, Harry said you were still in college. What are you studying?” Taylor asks about twenty minutes into our dinner.
“Oh, um music education and theatre,” I say, smiling at her.
“That’s so awesome! Are you wanting to teach music or theatre more?” she asks, and I laugh.
“Well it depends on what grade levels. Um, I would love to teach high school or middle school theater or speech, but if I were to teach music I would prefer to teach the younger grades, like kindergarten through fifth grade,” I respond, and Harry reaches out and places his hand over mine on the table.
“Whatever she winds up doing she will be amazing at though,” he says, and I laugh and shake my head.
“He’s just saying that,” I say, and Taylor waves her hand.
“No, I'm so sure you will do amazing,” she says, and I just shyly laugh in response. “Harry, are you working on anything new right now?” she asks, and I gently squeeze Harry’s hand and mouth a silent thank you to her.
“I have a few things in the works. Just enjoying the break right now though. I’m loving being able to be there for this one whenever she needs me,” he says, placing a gentle kiss in my hair.
“I have to say, I am so glad to see you so happy,” she says to him, and I flush. Travis takes the momentary silence to stand up and head towards the restroom.
“It’s nice to see you happy too,” Harry says, and I watch as Taylor’s smile slips a bit. “I mean hiding out for six years because of a guy isn’t really you,” he says, and I kick my leg into his.
“He doesn’t mean any offense,” I say, giving her a small smile.
“Oh, no it’s okay. I know he doesn’t. And he’s not really wrong. It wasn’t me, but I thought he was the one and I was hurting, so it seemed right at the time. But now…” she says, trailing off, looking in the direction Travis had gone. “Now I can see that it was all wrong,” she says, looking back at the two of us.
“I’ve had that feeling before,” Harry says, squeezing my hand. I lean over and press a kiss on his cheek, trying to hide the blush on my cheeks.

November 11th, 2023
“Hazza?” I call out towards the bathroom in our hotel room, and I hear him walk towards me before he pops his head around the corner.
“Yes?”
“I’m ready to give you your bracelets, come here,” I say, reaching out for him. He playfully groans and walks over to me.
“How many of these are you putting on me?” he asks as I start to slip bracelets on his arms.
“Umm, enough,” I mutter as I slip another one on. He groans again, and then starts playing with the hem of my dress with his free hand.
“We look great,” he says, and I laugh.
“Yeah we do. When do we need to leave again?” I ask him, putting the last bracelet on his arm and letting it go.
“As soon as you are ready. The security will be waiting for us whenever we get there,” he says, and I turn to him.
“I’m ready. I just need to grab my bag,” I say, and go past him to leave the bathroom. “Oh and I wanted to take a picture.” I grab my bag and my phone, and then pull Harry over to one of the mirrors. I position him in front of it to take a picture of his outfit, before handing him my phone and having him take a picture of me and my outfit. We take a picture together, and then I take his hand and lead him to the door. “Is the car ready for us?” I ask as we head into the hallway. He nods his head and together we walk to the elevator.
“Are you nervous?” he asks as he holds my hand. “I can feel your hands shaking.”
“Yes and no. I'm buzzing with energy because I’m so excited, but I’m also nervous because I know there is some sort of surprise tonight but I don’t know what it is,” I tell him, and he nods. “Plus, she told us last night that Travis and her dad will be in the tent with us, and that made me even more nervous than I already was about the surprise tonight,” I tell him, and he laughs and shakes his head.
“Nothing to be nervous about. Dinner last night was amazing. You two really hit it off. She even gave you her number. There is absolutely nothing to be nervous about. .” He pulls me into him as we exit the elevator, keeping our heads down, because the paparazzi had learned we were in town the night before, when they caught the four of us leaving dinner last night.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
“Hey Travis!” I exclaim as we get into the friends and family tent
“Hey guys!” he responds. “Your outfits are great!”
“Oh thanks! Harry’s stylist took my ideas and really made them into great outfits,” I tell him, and he chuckles.
“Stylists are the best,” he says, making Harry and I also laugh. “Without them I’d probably walk into games dressed like… well, my brother,” he says with a laugh.
“Hey, I’ve seen social media posts here and there, he has his own style,” I respond with a laugh.
“His style is very dad-chic,” Scott pipes up, and all four of us crack up. “Hi, I’m Scott,” he says when we stop laughing, holding his hand out to me.
I take it and shake it saying, “Hi, I’m Y/N, it’s nice to meet you.”
“I heard you are a big fan,” he says, and I look down at my feet, feeling my face flush.
“Yeah. Um, since I was like 7. This is so much better than I ever could have imagined. Not that I ever would have in my wildest dreams imagined this.”
“I hear you. It was a shock for our entire family when she first started becoming famous. Everything felt crazy and out of a dream. Still does sometimes,” he says and Harry nods.
“Same here. It’s especially surreal when you fall in love with someone who isn’t famous and you get to experience everything through their eyes for the first time again,” Harry says, looking down at me and wrapping his arm around my waist.
“I’ve never heard anyone explain it like that,” Travis says, and Harry laughs.
“I’m a songwriter. Coming up with new phrases is part of the job,” he says with a laugh, and everyone laughs right along with him.
“Ooh I met Taylor last night, but do you think I’ll get to meet Sabrina Carpenter tonight? We’re the same age. Well, she’s a year older, but still the same age.”
“We all get to go backstage after the show,” Scott says, and I jump up and down for a few seconds, before realizing who I am and where I am and what I am doing.
“Oh, sorry,” I mutter with a shy smile on my face, and the guys all laugh.
“Sweetie, you’re just so adorable,” Scott says, and I smile and look out at the stage. I go and stand right at the edge as Sabrina Carpenter starts her set, fully turning all of my attention to the stage. Harry comes and stands right behind me, gently resting his hands on my waist as I start to sing along with the music.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
“Babe this has been the best thing ever,” I whisper to Harry, standing on my tiptoes with my arms wrapped around his neck as we wait on the side with Travis and Scott during the last song. I feel him chuckle, before he takes my chin in his hand and guides my lips to his. I smile into the kiss, and pull away a lot sooner than either of us would have preferred, but we’re both aware that we have an audience. I turn back around in his arms, allowing him to wrap his around my waist again, and turn to look at the path Taylor will be walking down any moment. I look over at Travis who is waiting there with his hands behind his back and smile, tears welling up in my eyes. I watch as Taylor comes down the walkway, her pace turning into a sprint when she sees Travis, running right into his arms.
“Aw that’s so sweet,” I whisper as they kiss, and then after they pull apart we follow them into the tented area where no one can see us anymore, security trailing after us.
“So what did you think?” Taylor asks a few minutes later, after she’s drank almost an entire bottle of water and has managed to catch her breath.
“Taylor, it was so amazing. Thank you so much for inviting us,” I tell her, and she pulls me in for a hug.
“I’m so glad you enjoyed it. It’s such a rush being up there and performing every night. Something I’m sure Harry has told you about,” she says, glancing over at Harry.
“Oh yeah. I’ve heard a lot about it. But seeing you do it was just so insane.” She smiles and then glances around the room, with an arm still wrapped around my shoulder.
“Oh! I heard you wanted to meet Sabrina! She’s right over here, come with me,” she says, and begins tugging me towards a different area. She stops abruptly and turns back to Harry and Travis. “We’ll be right back,” she says, and they both laugh, and I do too. I allow her to tug me over to Sabrina, trying to control the shaking in my hands. “Sabrina!” she says when we get over there, and she turns to us.
“Hi Taylor! The show was amazing!”
“Thanks! So was your opening! Your closer gets better every night,” Taylor says with a laugh, and Sabrina laughs too. “Anyway, this is Y/N! She’s here with Harry, she’s his girlfriend.”
“Hi! It’s nice to meet you!” Sabrina says, with a little wave.
“It’s nice to meet you too!” I say, waving back. “I’m a big fan. When Emails I Can’t Send came out I felt like some of the songs were taken right from my brain,” I say, and she nods with a smile on her face.
“Thank you. I’m glad you like it!” she says, and then looks over my shoulder towards where Harry and Travis are. “Wait. By Harry you meant Harry Styles?” she asks Taylor, a bit of shock in her voice.
“Yeah. We reconnected at the Grammy’s a couple of years ago, and then again this year, and he was telling me about Y/N, and how she’s a huge fan, and about to graduate college with a music and theater education degree.  She was unable to get tickets because of ticketmaster, and I told him if there was a day where they could make it out for a show to just let me know and I would put them in the friends and family tent. This is the show they could make it to,” she explains, and Sabrina opens her mouth in shock, turning back to me.
“Okay, you have to tell me all about what it’s like to date Harry Styles. And how you guys met. And how college has been. I’ve always wondered what it was actually like and if it was like the movies and shows portray it. Actually, if you don’t have to leave right away, what if tomorrow you and I went out and got coffee?” she says, and I just kind of freeze.
“Really?” I ask, my voice quieter than it had been.
“Yeah! You seem super cool and like you could be a good friend!” she says, and pulls me in for a hug.
〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️〰️
“That was the craziest weekend of my life,” I say to Harry as we step onto the plane a couple of days later.
“Yeah?” he says, motioning for me to hand him my carry on, and then taking it from me and placing it on one of the extra seats on the plane.
“Yeah! Sabrina Carpenter invited me out for coffee, I met Taylor Swift and she joined us, and I got both of their numbers and we’re planning out the next time we can get together. I handed out so many friendship bracelets to people who were fans of you and of Taylor. I met so many of your fans. It was so insane.”
“I love you so much,” he says, sitting down next to me and wrapping his arms around me. “I’m glad we were able to pull this off. And that now we can take the week off and go to see my family,” he says, and I smile.
“And my family is being flown out to meet us there. Sometimes, life feels like a dream,” I say, looking out the window.
“A good one, right?” Harry says, and I turn back to him with a huge smile on my face.
“The best dream ever,” I tell him, and then lean forward and press my lips to his.

Hardest to Love
Tumblr media
Summary: Harry and Y/N are broken up but still good friends. He worries that he’s holding her back from moving on and finding love again, so he tries to distance himself from her. But Y/N is too sweet and people are too dumb to treat her right. Stuck between his fear of hurting her and his desire to give her the love he knows she deserves, Harry finds himself in a difficult predicament.
Word count: 8.7k
Warnings: some kink-shaming, mention of cheating, angst, smut (dom!harry, bondage, choking, spanking, degradation, orgasm denial, teasing)
A/N: This fic was inspired by two songs by The Weeknd: Hardest to Love and Scared to Live. Also, Y/N is bisexual in this one—just mentioning this for anyone looking for bi!Y/N fics :)
***
Harry hasn’t been good to Y/N.
The awful realization dawns on him while he’s sitting in a cafe with her one afternoon along with their two friends, Elena and Jordan. Well, actually, they’re more Y/N’s friends than his. He met them through her and only hangs out with them when she’s around. He may not have much in common with them, but whenever Y/N invites him to hang out, he always says yes because how could he turn down an invitation to spend time with her?
At least after Elena and Jordan leave, he gets to have her to himself. Not today though. Today, Y/N announces prematurely that she has to head home. Harry’s shoulders sag in disappointment.
“Whyyy?” he whines, resting his chin on his ring-adorned hand. “What could possibly be more important than spending time with your mates?”
She smiles. “I have a date tonight.”
Her three friends eye her with curiosity.
“Ooo, is it that guy from Tinder you’ve been seeing?” asks Elena.
“Yes, but don’t get too excited. I’m ending it with him.”
“What? Why?” they all ask, almost in unison.
She shrugs vaguely. “I realized he’s not my type.”
Elena snorts. “You say that about everyone you date. What even is your type?”
“Him,” says Jordan, pointing at Harry, who just chuckles.
Y/N’s cheeks flush. “I just haven’t found the right person! Leave me alone.” Her phone vibrates on the table. She checks it. “Oh, it’s him. He’s asking if our date is still on.”
“Poor guy,” says Jordan. “He’s got no idea he’s about to get his heart ripped to shreds tonight.”
Y/N rolls her eyes. “Please. You’re acting like he’s in love with me. We’ve been on two dates.”
“I don’t know. You’re pretty easy to fall in love with,” says Harry, smirking at her.
Her cheeks turn even more pink as she attempts to bite back a grin. “Okay, I have to go.” Rising to her feet, she grabs her phone and pulls her bag over her shoulder. “See you guys!”
“Good luck tonight, heartbreaker!” Jordan shouts after her as she walks away.
“I can’t with this girl.” Elena shakes her head. “I thought I was picky with dating.”
“She wasn’t always that picky. It was only after Mr. Grammy Award-Winner over here came along,” says Jordan, nodding his head towards Harry.
The comment elicits an awkward laugh from him. “What do you mean?”
The two friends exchange looks. Harry hates when they do that; he always feels left out of the joke.
“You do know that you’re the reason Y/N keeps turning down all the people she dates, right?” Elena says, as if it should be blatantly obvious to him. “She’s still not over you.”
He scoffs. “That’s ridiculous. We’ve been broken up for eight months. She’s been seeing new people for four of them. Don’t reckon she’d be doing that if she wasn’t over me.”
“It literally could not be more obvious,” says Jordan. “She goes on dates with people, then she hangs out with you for five minutes, and oh, all of a sudden, those people are no longer good enough for her?”
Shaking his head, he leans back in his chair and crosses his arms. “I think you’re reading too much into it.”
Elena sighs and tucks a strand of her pink-dyed hair behind her ear. “Look, ever since you told her that you’d be willing to get back together with her when the time feels right, she’s decided—either consciously or subconsciously—not to give anyone else a chance. It doesn’t help that every time the two of you are spotted anywhere, Twitter acts like you’re back together again.”
“Y/N doesn’t even use Twitter,” he says, purposely deflecting now.
“You know that’s not my point.”
“So, what then?” He throws his hands up in defeat. “What am I meant to do? Stop spending time with her?”
“That, or you can just tell her you’re not open to being romantically involved with her again,” Elena suggests. “Until you say something, she’s never going to move on.”
He won’t admit it to them, but he knows they’re right. He too has noticed Y/N’s pattern of going on a couple dates with someone, then conjuring up some excuse for why she can’t envision a future with them. Everything from “he’s a snorer” to “she thinks bald cats are ugly” to “he uses too many exclamation marks in his texts.” And Harry is guilty of enabling this behaviour by telling her that it makes total sense to turn someone down for such trivial reasons.
Truth be told, he likes watching these other people try and fail to win her heart. It gives him a sick sort of satisfaction to know that for her, no one compares to him. But he recognizes the deep selfishness of these feelings, and it’s something he doesn’t like very much about himself.
Harry and Y/N’s relationship has been complicated from the start. They met at a wedding. Harry was fresh out of a year-long relationship, and in no way, shape, or form was he ready to jump into another one just yet. But how was he supposed to resist Y/N, who looked like a fairy in her pretty floral dress and had a voice sweeter than honey and blushed whenever anyone said anything remotely nice about her and made him laugh harder than he’d laughed in weeks, maybe even months?
He couldn’t do it. He couldn’t resist. So, he pursued her until she fell for him hard. And he fell for her too. And they had the most magical three months together, attached at the hip whenever possible and constantly texting each other when not. But the spark began to fizzle out once Harry realized, and Y/N did too, that he hadn’t completely moved on from his ex.
Y/N was so understanding, albeit heartbroken.
Harry went off to Japan for a few weeks to focus on himself and his music. She was on his mind the entire time, so much so that his ex began to feel like a distant memory from another lifetime. On his first night back from Japan, he called her. And it was as if nothing had changed between them; they picked up right where they’d left off.
Over the next couple years, their relationship was a turbulent cycle of breaking up and getting back together, rinse and repeat. It was almost always Harry who would get cold feet and call it off when things began getting too serious—a habit he’d developed after getting his own heart broken too many times.
He could see the effect that this back-and-forth was having on Y/N, how it was wearing her down and sucking the liveliness out of her. He didn’t want to cause her any further pain, but he didn’t want to completely lose her either.
When they broke up for the last time, he told her that maybe now just wasn’t the right time for them to be together. They could still remain friends, and perhaps in the future, if the time ever felt right, they could try again.
He knows that Elena’s suggestion of telling Y/N that he’s not romantically interested in her anymore is the most sensible thing to do. However, he can’t find it in himself to do that. Instead, he decides to create a bit of distance between him and Y/N, hoping that it’ll be enough to help her move on from him.
Only time will tell if his plan works.
***
Y/N is pissed off. She doesn’t get angry very often, so when she does get like this, she doesn’t quite know what to do with herself.
Last night, she invited a few close friends over to celebrate her recent promotion at work. While Harry initially promised that he would be there, he texted her last minute that he couldn’t make it because he wasn’t feeling well.
This morning, as she was scrolling through her social media, she stumbled upon a picture taken by a fan of him leaving a pub last night with his friend Ben. He appeared perfectly fine and healthy, making it abundantly clear that what he’d told her was a lie. This isn’t the first time he’s cancelled on her in the past few weeks. She just assumed it’s because he’s been super busy with work, but now she feels stupid and naive for thinking so.
The discovery of Harry’s lie made her so upset that she got dressed that morning and drove straight to his house to confront him. Now, as she stands on his porch, waiting for him to answer the door, a sudden sense of self-awareness comes over her.
She’s never been a confrontational person. Showing up on someone’s doorstep unannounced to go off on them isn’t like her at all. She hasn’t even thought about what she’s going to say.
Just as she’s considering turning around and sprinting back to her car, the door opens to reveal a freshly awoken Harry, dressed in the fluffy lavender robe that she always loves seeing him in because he looks extremely soft and cuddly when he wears it, like a big, purple teddy bear. She has to resist the urge to squeeze him in her arms.
“Y/N, hi,” he says, brows perked in surprise. “Wasn’t expecting you this morning.”
“I just came to check up on you and see how you’re feeling.” She forces a smile and observes his reaction closely.
At first, he just stares at her blankly. Then it suddenly hits him, his eyes going wide as saucers. “Oh! Right, yeah, I’m, uh, I’m feeling much better. Thank you.”
Liar.
Y/N’s lip almost quivers from watching him lie straight to her face, but she maintains her composure.
“Must’ve been pretty bad, huh?” she asks. “Since you had to cancel so last minute.”
He looks down and fidgets with a loose thread on his robe. “Yeah, I wasn’t in the best state. Threw up three times.”
Her brows arch up, feigning surprise. “Three times! Wow! And you still had the energy to meet Ben at a pub on the other side of town?”
His face falls.
Y/N drops her facade now, letting her true emotion show. “You know, if you didn’t want to hang out with me, you should’ve just said so. There was no need to lie.”
“It’s not that. I love hanging out with you... Probably more than anyone else I know.”
“Then why did you lie? And why have you been so distant?”
He looks past her shoulder. Since she got here, a light drizzle has started, tiny droplets pattering softly against the ground.
“Let’s talk inside,” he says.
A stubborn part of her wants to keep her feet firmly planted on his porch, but it’s cold out here and the warm interior of his house does look incredibly inviting right now. She steps inside, taking off her shoes on the mat before marching into the kitchen.
He shuts the door and joins her there. “Do you want to sit?”
“No.” She leans against the edge of the kitchen counter and crosses her arms. He stands across from her, his hands resting behind him on the kitchen island.
She can’t help it. She has to say it, “It’s not fair, you know. I’ve always supported you and been there to celebrate your successes. I know getting a promotion at work isn’t nearly as exciting as getting a Grammy nomination, but still—”
“Don’t do that.” He shakes his head. “Don’t put down your accomplishments like that.”
She shrugs.
“I’m sorry I lied. And I’m sorry I’ve been distant. I just...” He hesitates. “I feel like I’ve been holding you back.”
Her brows furrow. “Holding me back from what?”
“From moving on. From falling in love again. I feel like the more time we spend together, the more you struggle to connect with the people you go out with. When we broke up, I told you that I’d be willing to get back together when the time felt right, and I said that because I still wanted you to myself, even if I didn’t want to commit to an actual relationship. And I realize now how shitty that was.” He sighs and stares down at the floor, seeming ashamed with himself. “I don’t want to sabotage your chances at finding love. Don’t want to be that guy.”
His explanation takes a minute to sink in and wrap her head around.
“So, wait,” she says, “you think I haven’t fallen in love with someone yet because I’m still hung up on you?” She laughs a little. “C’mon, H, that’s a tiny bit egotistic, don’t you think?”
He lifts a shoulder. “Maybe. But Elena and Jordan think so as well.”
She scoffs. “Oh, so now the three of you are, like, the committee of experts on my love life? What, do you meet once a week to discuss all the reasons why my love life is a flop?”
He blinks at her slowly. “Y/N...”
“No, no, this is stupid.” She uncrosses her arms, clutching the counter behind her instead. “You are not the reason that I can’t fall in love. You’re... You’re...” She finds herself grasping for some way to convince him that his whole theory is absurd, but suddenly, she’s not even sure if it is. In the end, all she’s able to say is, “You’re my best friend.”
His green eyes soften. “And you’re mine. But maybe...” He winces, like he knows the next part is going to hurt her. “Maybe, staying friends after the breakup was a bad idea.”
This feels like a punch in the gut. It’s like experiencing their breakup all over again, except worse because the pain of losing a best friend is somehow more visceral, more agonizing than losing a romantic partner.
“You don’t mean that,” she says brokenly.
“I’m just saying that we should try spending some time apart and see how that works for us. If nothing changes, fine... But if something does, then maybe it’s for the best?”
Swallowing the lump in her throat, she says, “Fine. If that’s what you want.”
He says nothing to reaffirm her statement, making her doubt for a moment that this is really what he wants, but then she snaps herself out of it. No, he has made it clear that he doesn’t want to spend time with her anymore, and she’s not going to chase after someone who obviously doesn’t want her around.
“I should go.”
He follows her to the front door. They both stare out the window at the rain, which has escalated from a light drizzle to a full-on thunderstorm within a matter of minutes.
“It’s pouring out there,” he says. “Do you want to wait until the rain stops?”
“No.”
“Well, do you at least want an umbrella?”
“No, thank you.” She’s being stubborn, but she doesn’t want to be around him any longer than she has to. After slipping on her sneakers, she steps out onto his porch and makes a run for it to her car but gets drenched by the time she ducks into the driver’s seat.
***
The next time Harry sees Y/N is three weeks later at a mutual friend’s birthday party. They’ve developed so many mutual friends over the years of knowing each other that they’re bound to cross paths at one point or another.
She arrives at the party a little while after him, accompanied by Elena. Her sleeveless maroon dress hugs her curves perfectly and brings out the natural pink tint of her cheeks. Her hair is shorter too, he notices. He tries not to stare when she walks in, but it’s hard not to. They make eye contact from across the room. She looks away before he can lift a hand to wave hello.
For the entire evening, every time he enters a conversation that Y/N is also a part of, she discreetly withdraws. Any time he even comes close to her vicinity, she drifts further away from him. It’s frustrating. But he probably deserves it after how poorly he handled things with her. Lying to her instead of just having a candid conversation about his concerns.
While he’s receiving the cold shoulder from her, Elena appears to be receiving quite the opposite treatment. Y/N sticks by her side the whole night, holding hands or linking arms with her, sharing longing glances, blushing whenever Elena speaks directly to her. He suspects there’s something going on there, but he can’t be sure. There is one person at the party, however, who might be able to give him the answers he seeks.
“Hi, Jordan,” says Harry, walking up to the short, dark-haired man who was oddly standing by himself in one corner, staring down at the phone in his hands.
Jordan glances up at him for a quick second. “Oh, hey, what’s up?”
“Not much. You?”
“Just sexting with this hot older guy I met last week,” he replies casually, his thumbs flying across the tiny keyboard on the screen.
“Oh. Nice,” says Harry. He’s not sure how to bring up the topic subtly, so he decides to forgo subtlety altogether. “So, um, Y/N and Elena...”
“I’m as shocked as you are.” Jordan laughs. “Who would’ve thunk those two would ever hook up?”
“Are they serious or...?”
“Depends who you ask.” Jordan glances up again and registers the confusion on Harry’s face. He elaborates, “If you ask Y/N, she’ll tell you they’re serious. If you ask Elena, she’ll tell you it’s still early days and too soon to say.”
“Huh.” He looks in Y/N’s direction again. This time, she’s resting her head on Elena’s shoulder, listening intently to whatever conversation was happening around her.
“Oh, fuck. Oh, fuck,” Jordan suddenly says.
Harry whips his head back around. “What?”
“The guy I’m sexting. He just sent me a video of him putting his dick in a—”
Raising a hand, Harry says, “You know what? I don’t think I want to know.”
Later that night, everyone gathers around to sing happy birthday to the birthday girl and watch her blow out the candles on her huge, extravagant cake. Afterwards, as the crowd disperses around the house again, Harry loses sight of Y/N. He decides it’s for the best since he’s spent most of the night watching her from afar instead of enjoying the party and mingling with friends he doesn’t see very often due to his busy schedule.
From that point onward, he tries to be more present in his conversations with people.
When he breaks away to find the bathroom a bit later, he passes by a room that looks like a den. The door is slightly ajar, enough to make out Elena sitting on a couch with a few other people. Y/N is nowhere to be seen, though she could be in some part of the room that isn’t visible from where he’s standing. But as he listens in to their conversation, it quickly becomes clear that she’s not in the room with them.
“Where’s your shadow?” asks one of the other girls sitting with Elena.
“Who?” she says.
“Y/N. She’s been following you around like a lost puppy all evening.”
“Oh, yeah, I don’t know where she went, actually.” Elena looks around vaguely.
Harry steps away from the door before she can see him. He leans against the wall next to the doorway, taking out his phone so that if someone catches him standing there, he can pretend he’s just messing around on his phone.
“The two of you are a couple then?” asks the other girl.
“I wouldn’t call it that,” replies Elena. “We’ve just hooked up a few times.”
A male voice chimes in, “What’s she like? In bed, I mean. I’ve always wanted to know, but she was always with that Watermelon Sugar guy.”
Harry rolls his eyes at that.
“She’s kind of a freak, actually,” Elena speaks in a hushed voice, like she’s revealing a scandalous secret.
“Oh yeah?”
“Uh-huh. She’s into that choking, slapping, getting tied up, being called names type of shit.”
Harry rolls his eyes once again. These must be the most vanilla people ever if they think liking a bit of bondage and degradation makes someone a “freak.” Most of the people he’s been with were into things like that, not just Y/N.
“Damn,” says the male voice. “It’s always the sweet, innocent-looking ones.”
“Yeah,” says Elena. “It’s kind of weird, but I just go with it. At least I can laugh about it later.”
A grimace has settled onto Harry’s face after hearing their conversation. He doesn’t appreciate the way they talk about Y/N, as if she’s some sort of anomaly or a sex object. He knows all too well what it’s like to have your sex life dissected and gossiped about by people who don’t even know you.
It especially irks him when he remembers how insecure Y/N used to be about her kinks when he first met her. It took her some time to open up to him about what she liked in bed because before they met, she’d never had the chance to explore her deepest desires and fantasies in a safe space with someone who made her feel comfortable. He’s grateful that he was able to give her that.
Now, he leaves to go find the bathroom again, but when he gets there, it’s already occupied. He heads upstairs to find another one. The music from the party fades as he ascends the staircase. It’s mostly dark up there, except for the warm white light spilling out of a room down the hall. As he gets closer, he realizes it’s the other bathroom and, of course, someone is inside this one too.
He groans internally until he reaches the open doorway and realizes that the person inside is Y/N. She’s standing in front of the sink, fixing her hair in the mirror. Her gaze shifts to Harry as he appears in the hallway.
“Hey,” he says softly.
“Oh, sorry, do you need the bathroom? I was just leaving.” She starts to exit, but he steps in the middle of the doorway, blocking her path.
“You’re avoiding me.”
She meets his eyes reluctantly. “Well, I didn’t know if I was allowed to talk to you or not.”
He frowns. “What? Of course you are.”
“Just wondering, you know, because we’re not supposed to be spending time together anymore.”
“That doesn’t mean we can’t talk if we see each other at a party, Y/N.”
“Well, how was I supposed to know?!” She crosses her arms in front of her chest. “These rules are confusing.”
His eyes wander over her face, taking in her pretty features. “They are confusing,” he agrees, pausing before adding, “and stupid.”
“Oh, so now you admit it.” A playful grin dances on her lips, making him chuckle.
Lifting up a hand, he takes a strand of her hair between his fingers and twirls it around, examining its length. He notices her breathing stop for a moment.
“You cut your hair,” he states.
“Yeah.”
“Looks nice. Pretty.”
She blushes. “Thanks.”
He releases the strand of hair and watches it bounce back into place. Then he reaches up and brushes his fingers against her cheek. She leans into his touch, almost on instinct. His gaze rests on her lips now—so red and full and tempting. He begins inching towards them, but at the last moment, she pulls away.
“H,” she whispers, “we can’t. I have a girlfriend.”
“You do?” he asks, even though he already knows what she’s about to say.
“Yeah. Elena. We’ve been seeing each other.”
“Oh,” he says. And he tries to control himself. He really tries to stop the words from leaving his mouth, but they come out anyway, “Y/N, I don’t think she’s right for you.”
“What?”
“I don’t think Elena’s a nice person.”
She frowns. “Where is this coming from?”
He doesn’t want to tell her about the conversation he overheard earlier. It would only hurt her. “I just think you deserve better.”
Her eyes narrow. “And what exactly is ‘better’? You?”
“I didn’t say that.”
“Then what are you saying, Harry?”
He can sense her losing her patience with him. Y/N, who normally has the patience of a saint and puts up with a lot more than most people would, is done with his shit.
“Because you told me that you were worried about holding me back from moving on and finding love again. But now that I’m with someone new, you’re telling me that I’m with the wrong person? It’s just— It’s not making sense. You say that you don’t want to hold me back, but that’s exactly what you’re doing.”
Her words pierce through his heart. “You’re right... It doesn’t make any sense. And I’m sorry. But I stand by what I said about Elena. She doesn’t have your best interests at heart, lovie. She doesn’t deserve you. Neither do I.”
She stares at him for one long moment, a tenderness flashing in her eyes for the briefest second before she looks away. “I can’t do this.” She squeezes past him to leave the bathroom.
“Y/N—”
“Bye, Harry.”
***
Settling in bed with a book in his hands, a cup of chamomile tea on the nightstand next to his phone and his songwriting notebook, which is always there in case a lyric idea pops up in his head while he reads. This is how Harry spends most of his nights lately. It’s a soothing ritual to come home to after a long day.
The only thing missing is having someone in bed next to him. Someone to read with or read to. Someone to kiss goodnight. Someone to hold as he drifts off to dreamland.
Ever since his breakup with Y/N, he has been taking the time to figure himself out, to really look inward and, with the help of his therapist, work on some deep-rooted bad habits that he seems to carry from one relationship to the next. He’s never been good at being alone, which explains why he has a propensity to dive into a new relationship before he’s even moved on from the last.
He regrets rushing things with Y/N. If he’d just taken the time to get to know her and properly befriend her before taking the next step, things might have panned out differently. He truly believes that.
A yawn pulls itself from him as sleep begins to fog his brain. He places his book on the nightstand. Before he can turn the lights out, his phone buzzes with an incoming call. It’s Y/N.
He picks up. “Hello?”
He doesn’t receive an instant response. All he can hear is the beat of some techno song in the background and the muffled sound of female voices. He wonders if she just butt-dialed him by accident.
“Hellooo?”
This time, he hears her say on the other end, “You were right.”
Puzzled, he replies, “What?”
“You were right about Elena. She’s not a nice person.”
She doesn’t elaborate any further, but he can infer from the hollowness in her voice that Elena broke her heart.
“I just called to tell you you were right,” she says. “You can feel all smug now and say ‘I told you so.’”
“You think I’m that much of an arsehole?”
She sighs and mumbles, “No.” He hears her sniffle. “I just don’t get why everyone treats me like I’m some toy they can play with and throw out when they get bored. Am I that easy to discard? Or maybe I’m just hard to love.”
“No. You’re not.” If anything, that’s me, he thinks to himself.
“Then why does this keep happening to me?” She sounds so defeated, it makes his chest physically ache.
“Because, Y/N, people are stupid—and I’m including myself in that statement—and they don’t realize what they’ve got until they lose it. By the time they realize it, it’s far too late.”
She goes quiet. He can hear the music thumping in the background again.
“Where are you?” he asks.
“In the bathroom of a club.”
He quirks a brow. “What are you doing at a club? You don’t even like clubs.” He recalls her telling him once that she hates being surrounded by all the sweaty bodies bumping into each other.
“Jordan dragged me here. Said the best way to get over a heartbreak is to go to a club and find a stranger to hook up with. But he ditched me as soon as we got here, so I thought I would just drink and dance away my sorrows, but then some creep tried to grope me on the dancefloor and I wanted to throw up and now I’m hiding in the bathroom.”
“Fuck’s sake,” he mutters under his breath. His frustration isn’t directed at her but at Jordan for giving her such terrible advice and then abandoning her in such a vulnerable state. “Stay where you are. I’m on my way.”
“Wh— You’re coming here? You don’t have to do that.”
“Well, I’m doing it.”
He gets the name of the club from her and tells her he’ll text her once he’s there. Climbing out of bed, he quickly throws on some clothes and heads out to his car.
He’s prepared to go into the club to retrieve her when he gets there, but she’s already standing outside by the curb, rubbing her hands up and down her arms. She has on a flimsy jacket, far too thin to block out the cool night air. As soon as he pulls up, she climbs into the passenger seat, finding refuge from the cold.
“You all right?” he asks, studying her intently.
She nods. “You know, you really didn’t have to come all the way—”
“Hush. Put your seatbelt on.”
She raises her eyebrows at his authoritative tone. “Yes, sirrr.”
He feels something stir inside him when she says that but quickly squashes the feeling and starts driving.
“Do you want me to take you to your flat?” he asks.
“Ugh, no. Jordan’s going to come home with some guy in the middle of the night and wake me up with obnoxiously loud sex noises.”
He nods once. “Okay then. My place, it is.”
When they reach his house, he prepares one of the guest bedrooms for her to sleep in while she uses the bathroom. By the time she comes out, he’s sitting on the edge of the bed, waiting patiently for her. She sits down next to him. As he turns to look at her, he catches her staring directly at his mouth.
“Kiss me,” she says.
“You’re drunk.”
“Just one kiss. Please?”
He rolls his eyes and gives her a peck on the lips, forcing himself to pull back before he gets carried away. “Happy?”
“No, I want more,” she says, leaning forward.
He smirks and squeezes her chin between his thumb and forefinger. “Greedy girl.” He releases her chin. “Go to sleep.”
She complies and gets under the covers. Staring up at him with her sweet, tired eyes, she says, “Thank you. For taking care of me.”
He shrugs. “I like taking care of you.”
He gets up then and leaves the room, shutting off the lights as he goes.
***
Y/N wakes up with a miserable headache compounded by a deep embarrassment over her actions from the previous night. Calling up Harry just to whine about her pitiful love life, prompting him to come rescue her drunk ass from the club, begging him to kiss her...
She wants the ground to swallow her whole.
Eventually, she drags herself out of bed and into the bathroom. After cleaning herself up, she heads down to the kitchen, where Harry is sitting at the island in his purple robe, having his morning coffee. The sight is all too familiar to her; she used to wake up to this on a regular basis when they were still together.
“Morning,” he greets her as she walks in, avoiding his gaze. “How are you feeling?”
“Hungover.”
She fills up a glass with cold water and savours the feeling of it pouring down her parched throat. Finally, she turns around and forces herself to look at him.
“Sorry about last night,” she states. “I was, um, a bit of a mess.”
He gives her a kind smile. “It’s all right. You don’t need to apologize. Honestly, it made me quite happy to see your name pop up on my screen when you called.”
Her heart swells. “Really?”
He nods and takes a sip of his coffee to hide the timidness in his expression.
A smile spreads across her face. “Well, okay, that makes me feel better.”
He gazes at her for a while, like he’s carefully contemplating his next words. “So... You were upset last night and I didn’t want to ask, but... What did happen with Elena?”
Her eyes drop down to the floor at his question.
Noticing her reaction, he quickly says, “Sorry, it’s none of my business.”
“No, it’s fine.” She looks up at him again. “I found out she was sleeping with someone else. I caught her texting this other person while we were in bed, cuddling. She thought I was asleep.” A bitter laugh escapes her at the idiocy of it all.
Harry’s eyes turn sympathetic. “Jesus. That’s awful.”
“Yeah... So, hey, you may have broken my heart, but at least you can say you never cheated on me!”
“I mean, that bar’s pretty low.”
“Oh, the bar is fucking underground at this point.”
He laughs. She grins. Then he stands up and walks around the island to her, pulling her into a tight hug, which she happily reciprocates.
“I’m sorry people suck,” he says, resting his chin on her head. “I’m sorry I suck.”
She frowns. “You don’t suck.”
“Yes, I do. All I’ve done is break your heart. Over and over again.”
She pulls away to get a proper look at him, noting the guilt in his eyes. “That’s not true. You’ve been an amazing friend to me.”
He smiles sadly. “I don’t know about that.”
“Harry...” It concerns her that he’s being so hard on himself. He really has been a wonderful friend to her. Despite all the hardships they experienced during their relationship, he has been there for her more than anyone else in her life. To hear him fail to recognize that makes her sad.
“I want to be a better friend. I think I can do that. If you’ll give me a chance.”
“Of course.”
“I can even be your wingman if you need me to be.”
She laughs and makes a face. “My wingman?”
“Sure, why not?” He gives a casual shrug, as if the concept of her ex-boyfriend, whom she’s still undeniably attracted to, being her wingman isn’t weird as hell.
“Thanks for the kind offer, but I’m actually putting the brakes on dating for a while.”
“Oh, okay.”
She hugs him again, content to have him in her arms, content that she can finally go back to hanging out with her best friend again.
***
“I think we should watch the new season of The Crown tonight.”
Y/N’s eyes widen with excitement. “Oooh, yes! I’ve been dying to watch that.”
“We could order pizza as well. From that new place I told you about. You need to try it.”
“Absolutely.”
They’re sitting in their little corner of the cafe. Y/N finished work a while ago and headed there to meet up with Harry, who was coming from a writing session at the studio. Now, as they discuss their plans to wind down for the evening, something—or someone—catches Y/N’s attention from across the cafe.
“Oh, fuck my life,” she mutters.
“What’s wrong?” asks Harry, as he follows her gaze over his shoulder.
“I just realized Elena’s here. With her new girlfriend. They’re sitting over by the window.”
“Oh.” He turns back to Y/N. “Do you want to leave? We can go somewhere else.”
She replies with an adamant shake of the head. “Nope. This is our favourite cafe too. Why should we have to go?”
Suddenly, Elena’s gaze shifts over to her and they make eye contact. Without reacting, Y/N returns her attention to Harry. But then, out of the corner of her eye, she sees Elena standing up and walking over to them.
“Oh, great, she’s coming over here,” she says with an agitated sigh.
Harry squeezes her hand on the table reassuringly. “It’s okay. You’ve got this.”
“Y/N,” says Elena, once she reaches their table.
“Elena,” says Y/N.
“Harry,” says Elena.
“Elena,” says Harry.
A long, awkward pause follows.
Unable to endure the awkwardness any further, Y/N breaks the silence, “How are you?”
“I’m all right. You?”
“I’m fine.”
Another pause. Elena turns to Harry.
“So, the reason I came over here is because my girlfriend, who’s sat over there”—she points over to the table she just came from—“happens to be a massive fan of yours, Harry, and she was hoping she could get a picture with you. I told her that we’re friends and I would ask for her.”
It takes everything in Y/N to resist the urge to roll her eyes dramatically. The nerve of this woman to cheat on her, then come over here to ask Harry—whom she only knows through Y/N—to take a picture with the same person that she cheated with! Truly mindboggling. Not to mention, it puts Harry in a very awkward position.
He looks at Y/N unsurely, waiting for a cue from her before deciding how to respond. “Uh...”
She gives him a small nod.
“Sure,” he says to Elena.
He stands up and follows her to the table where Elena’s girlfriend is eyeing him with a frozen, starstruck look on her face. He chats with her for a minute, then poses for a selfie before walking back over to Y/N.
“That was quick,” she says.
He shrugs. “She was more interested in getting a photo than talking. I asked her not to post it until later though, once we’re gone.”
Now that the uncomfortable encounter is over, they return to their conversation from earlier, debating what else to get with their pizza tonight.
Some time later, long after Elena and her girlfriend have left the cafe, Y/N notices a group of young people lurking outside the entrance, trying to peer in through the glass door. It’s getting dark out, but she has seen, and worn, Harry’s merch enough times to recognize it on someone else even in the dark from a distance.
“Uh-oh,” she says.
“What?” Harry looks at her. With his back to the entrance, he has no idea what’s happening.
“I think I see fans outside. Elena’s girlfriend must’ve posted the picture already.”
He throws up a hand and lets it fall on the table. “Oh, for fuck’s sake.”
Y/N takes out her phone to check, and surely enough, the picture is all over social media. The cafe logo can be seen on a sign in the background. “Yup, she posted it on Instagram and now it’s making rounds. This place is going to get crowded real fast if we don’t leave soon.”
“Would it be bad if we snuck out the back? I’m just not in the mood to deal with this.”
“Yeah, we can do that. I’m sure Theo would let us use the back exit.”
Theo is the owner of the cafe, whom Harry and Y/N have befriended over the years.
Harry scoots his chair back to stand up, then stops and looks at her with a conflicted expression. “I feel bad.”
She leans forward and locks eyes with him. “H, people can’t expect you to be on all the time, ready to interact and take pictures with them whenever they want. You’re a human being, not a tourist attraction.”
“I know, I know.” He bites his lip and sighs. “Okay, let’s go.”
They stand up, grab their jackets, and find Theo, who doesn’t even hesitate to help them sneak out the back exit into the empty alleyway behind the cafe. Once outside, they stop to put on their jackets. Y/N shivers as a cold breeze passes by.
“Holy crap. How did it get so cold?” she mutters through chattering teeth.
“You need a better jacket. This thing is paper thin.” Harry pinches the arm of her jacket to prove his point.
She rolls her eyes. “Okay, mom. It’s not that thin.”
“Here, put this on.” He hands her his thick, green jacket, but she pushes it away.
“No! Then you’ll get cold.”
“I’ll be fine.”
“Nope.”
He glares at her. “Y/N, put it on.”
“Make me.”
His eyebrows raise high on his forehead. “What did you say?”
A devilish grin materializes on her face. “I said... Make me.”
Grabbing her by the waist, he pushes her up against the wall of the cafe. She stares up at him, gasping when she notices the unmistakable lust in his eyes. He leans forward and presses his lips against hers so firmly, so hungrily that it literally takes her breath away. She kisses him back with the same hunger until, all of a sudden, he pulls away.
“Fuck, I’m sorry,” he blurts out.
She shakes her head. “No, don’t be sorry.”
He releases her waist and takes a step back, a look of dread now replacing the lust from before. “This is bad. This is so bad.”
“What? What are you talking about?”
“I can’t do this again. Us being together. It never ends well.” He runs a flustered hand through his curls. “I don’t want to hurt you again. I love you too much for that.”
She tilts her head to the side. “Why are you so convinced that you’ll hurt me again?”
“Because that’s what I do, Y/N. I think I’ve proven that. It’s just who I am.”
“No, it’s not.”
He turns away, but she steps forward and takes his face in her hands, making him look at her again.
“I know who you are. You’re kind and thoughtful and loving, and you have the biggest heart of anyone I know. You’re also flawed and imperfect and you make mistakes, but who doesn’t? At least you’re trying to be better, which is more than most people can say.”
His eyes never leave hers as she talks, which tells her that her words are actually sinking in.
“I know you’re scared of hurting me again, but I’m not scared. I trust you and I trust that it’ll be different this time.”
“How can you still trust me after everything I’ve put you through?”
“Because like I said, I know you.”
Like a light switch, Y/N catches the shift in his eyes from fear to hope.
“Now kiss me,” she says. “Properly this time.”
And then she’s back against the wall with his hands squeezing her waist and his mouth claiming hers. No hesitation this time. No internal conflicts. Just pure love and fervor and affection.
He gets even closer, until their fronts are touching, and rubs up against her. She moans, squirming between his body and the wall. Whereas she was cold before, the heat of their passion is enough to warm her up.
He starts speaking in between kisses. “We’re not”—kiss—“having sex”—kiss—“in an alleyway.”
She giggles against his lips. “Okay, then take me home.”

Back at Harry’s house, they’ve barely stepped in through the door before he’s pressing her up against it, attaching his lips to her jaw and neck while his hand wanders down the front of her body. His deft fingers unbutton her jeans before sliding inside them. He caresses her clit through her panties.
She tilts her head back, exposing more of her neck for him to kiss and suck on. Her hands weave through his hair. He continues rubbing languid circles into her clit until her panties dampen with her arousal, then stops.
“Nooo,” she whines.
“Shh, just taking you upstairs. C’mon.” He leads her up to his bedroom where he begins stripping off her clothes. He doesn’t remove his own clothes just yet, knowing she likes it this way. Something about being completely exposed and vulnerable while he’s fully clothed is a turn-on for her.
He tells her to lie on the bed while he goes to the closet to grab a couple of silk ties. When he returns, her hand is between her legs. He climbs on top of her and grabs her wrists, sliding them up by her head.
“Can’t leave you alone for two seconds without you touching yourself, hmm?”
She gives him an innocent smile.
“What am I going to do with you?” he says.
“Anything you want.”
His cock twitches in his pants. “Gonna be a good girl and keep your hands above your head?”
“Yes, sir,” she says, still smiling.
He kisses her briefly and gets up to bind her wrists to the bedposts using the silk ties. He has her tug on them a bit to ensure that they’re secure but not overly tight. Then he’s back on the bed, positioning himself between her spread legs, almost drooling at the sight of her dripping wet cunt.
She watches eagerly as he lowers his head between her legs and swipes his tongue over her slit, savouring her intoxicating taste and scent. It occurs to him while he’s sucking on her swollen nub that they haven’t does this in so long and she’s probably been in bed with several other people in that time. The thought makes his fingers dig deeper into her thighs.
“You taste so fucking good,” he comments. “Annoys me to think of all the other people who’ve tasted you.”
“There haven’t been that many.”
“Well, even one is too many for me, so...”
She giggles and squirms as he dips his tongue into her hole. Whenever he draws back to take a breath, her hips automatically buck towards his mouth. He has to hold her down with one hand on her abdomen.
It’s easy to tell when she’s nearing an orgasm from the way her thighs tense and her moans become more frequent, breathing more ragged.
“I’m going to—” she begins.
“Don’t even think about cumming until I say so,” he warns.
“But I’m so close. Please—”
“Hold it.”
“I can’t!”
Ignoring her pleas, he continues licking at her clit as he pleases until she’s writhing on the bed, slowly coming apart. Her back arches as the orgasm ripples through her body. He waits until she’s done before pinning her with a disapproving look for cumming despite being told not to.
“What?!” she exclaims. “I told you I couldn’t hold it any longer. Not really my fault, is it?”
In a mere second, he’s hovering over her with a hand wrapped firmly around her neck. Her wide eyes stare up at him. He feels her throat bob up and down beneath his palm as she swallows. Her racing pulse can be felt under his fingers.
“What was that?” he asks.
“N—nothing,” she squeaks out.
“That’s what I thought, you greedy little slut.”
“I’m sorry.” Her voice is so small, barely above a whisper. He can see her sinking into subspace before his eyes. Tied up with his hand around her throat, completely and utterly at his mercy.
“That’s all right, darling,” he says. “I think you’ve forgotten who’s in charge, but we can fix that.”
He starts untying her wrists. She eyes him curiously but doesn’t dare to speak. He flips her over onto her stomach and reties her wrists.
Leaning down to her ear, he asks, “Do you remember the safeword?” He expects her to have forgotten after all this time, but she proves him wrong.
“Peaches!”
“Good girl.” He plants a soft kiss to her lips, then straightens up again.
He runs a hand through her hair and down her spine before resting on the delicious curve of her bum. He gives it one brief squeeze before lifting his hand in the air, watching her tense as his touch disappears. He allows the anticipation to build before bringing his hand back down in one swift motion. A resounding slap echoes through the room, followed by a grunt of pain from Y/N.
“Count, slut,” he orders.
“O—one.”
He spanks her again, harder this time, and relishes the way her ass bounces from the impact.
“Ah! Fuck. Two.”
The next few arrive in quick succession, causing her to squirm and fight against her restraints in a futile attempt to escape her punishment. He knows she’s enjoying it though because when the next slap lands on her pussy, his hand comes away covered in her juices.
“Look at you, getting off on your punishment. Only whores enjoy getting punished,” he teases.
Y/N presses her reddening face into the pillow and moans. He chuckles at her reaction and delivers a few more slaps directly to her cunt.
Finally, he stands up to undress himself. Then he lifts her hips off the mattress to shove a pillow under them, propping her up into the perfect position for a fucking. His dick is rock-hard at this point. He’s been palming himself through his pants here and there, but only her pussy can give him the relief he needs. He presses himself against her opening, then stops and starts rubbing his tip against her clit instead.
He keeps this up until she grumbles impatiently, “Can you fuck me already? Please and thank you?”
“I thought you’d never ask,” he says with a smirk, then plows his cock into her.
She inhales sharply. He groans. It takes them both a few moments to process the intensity of her walls stretching around him. He pulls out and pushes back in, his length gliding in and out effortlessly due to her wetness. She tries to grind her hips back into him, though his strong grip keeps her locked in place.
As he brings her to the brink of yet another orgasm, she says, “I need to— I mean, can I please cum?”
He slows the pace of his thrusts. “You came once already, remember? Now you want more?”
“Yesss.” She tries to look over her shoulder at him, and if he could see her big, beautiful eyes, he would probably give in way sooner. “Please, H, I’m sorry for earlier. I really am.”
“Hmmm, I don’t buy it.”
She whimpers in desperation, her hands curling in their restraints.
“I think I should cum inside you and leave you here, unsatisfied, alone, and dripping with my cum.”
Her jaw drops at his evil proposition. “No! God, please don’t do that to me. I’ll do anyth—”
“Shhh, I’m only teasing, sweetheart.” He rubs a soothing hand over her back.
She lets out a sigh of relief.
“You can cum now.”
The words are barely out of his mouth before her pussy is flexing fiercely around his cock, shrouding it in more of her creamy wetness. A few more sharp, sloppy thrusts and he’s cumming inside her too, moaning and repeating her name in his blissful haze.
After pulling out, the first thing he does is remove the pillow from below her hips and untie her wrists. Then he lies down next to her and pulls her into his arms, pressing his lips against her forehead.
“You did so good for me, baby,” he says. Then he draws back to take a good look at her. “Are you all right?”
She gives him a dazed grin. “Oh, I’m amazing.”
He chuckles. “Yes, you are.” Pulling her into his chest, he tells her, “I love you.”
“I love you.”
As they lay there together, he marvels at how lucky he is. Not only to have another chance to be with her, but to have her in his life at all. Y/N is right; things will be different this time. Because this time, he’ll spend less time worrying about getting his own heart broken and more time cherishing hers.

It was a busy afternoon at the Styles residence. Hair and makeup teams were running around, style teams were laying out last-minute options in case he or Y/n wished to change their outfit ideas for the night, and obviously, his most important team was hard at work to get him ready.
"Stay still, Daddy!" Collette, his second daughter said, looking up at him with a pout.
"Sorry, sorry. I'll try my best," Harry said, nodding for her to continue painting his nails. He peered down at her, eyeing the careful work she was doing. "You're quite good at this, you know."
Collette didn't look up from his hand, but Harry saw her smile, one that was nearly identical to her mother's if it wasn't for the dimples in her cheeks. "Thank you."
Before he could respond, Harry's chin was being tilted up by Simone. "This should make the bags under your eyes go away," she said, placing gel masks just under his eyes.
Harry tried not to frown at the implication that he had bags under his eyes to begin with. He never thought his daughters would be so brutally honest, but they never minced their words, especially when it came to his appearance.
So instead of opening that can of worms, he asked who was helping their mum get ready.
"The twins, but I think it's more pretend," Simone said, combing his eyebrows in place with a little brush.
"I see," he mumbled. "Well, thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to help me look pretty."
In truth, Simone was so excited about Harry going to the Grammys, she wanted to be a part of it in some way, shape, or form. She wouldn't be able to go, as that would stir up a media frenzy. For the first time, though, Harry had considered risking it all just so he could have a Daddy-daughter date tonight. Ultimately, he decided that it was better to keep that secret a secret, though he did have to promise to get Olivia Rodrigo's autograph and bring it home by the end of the night to make up for Simone not going. How he was going to manage that, he had no idea.
Still, it was a big night, for many reasons. Not only was Harry nominated for some of the night's biggest awards, Y/n was also joining him, marking their first public appearance. Ever.
His wife had been nervous, and rightfully so, but Harry wanted her to be there, wanted to spend this night with the people he loved, and there was no one else he loved more than Y/n. Except for his children, obviously.
So Y/n was in a different room getting her hair and makeup done, preparing for a night no one would soon forget while Harry was letting his two oldest children pamper him before he had to get dressed.
"Do you know what your mum is wearing? She refuses to tell me," Harry said. Simone seemed to be done with his face for the time being and was helping Collette paint his nails.
"We're not going to tell you, either!" Collette said.
Harry frowned playfully. "And that is why Julian is my favorite. He would've told me."
The girls giggled before continuing on. When it came time for Harry to start getting dressed in his red carpet outfit—a fun jumpsuit that passed voting from all six of his children (mostly four because Geneva and Natalia couldn't talk yet, but they seemed as excited as they could be)—Simone and Collette watched with wide eyes. The hair and makeup teams, who were all under strict NDAs, were incredibly kind to Harry's daughters and even styled their hair and put a little blush and lip gloss on them. Harry could only be glad that they got to have a small part of this whole experience.
He was ready in no time, and suddenly it was time to go. Harry waited patiently and anxiously downstairs as the time to walk on the red carpet drew nearer. He was nervous about tonight for so many reasons, but all he could think about was what revealing such a well-kept secret would mean for his family.
Had they really thought this through? Did Y/n want to come tonight or was she humoring Harry? Would she be more comfortable watching from a dressing room? Or even here at home? What if something happened to GiGi or Natalia or Maeve—
"Harry?"
All his thoughts came to a halt as his wife appeared in front of him, brows furrowed with concern.
And as he blinked, taking her in for the first time since she disappeared to get ready, the only thought he was capable of thinking was he was pretty sure he'd just fallen in love all over again.
Y/n had secretly gone to a handful of events for years, they'd gone to dates at fancy restaurants, and had attended weddings that required dressing up. But all of those times Y/n had dressed to blend into the background so as not to raise suspicion. Tonight, however...
Tonight Y/n was meant to stand out, was meant to be noticed. She was in a dress of gauzy, white fabric that gathered in ruffles all the way down until the gown hit the floor. The fabric was light enough to see just a hint of skin, but not enough to reveal much, though Harry could identify every curve and dip her body made. She was ethereal, an angel in white, almost like—
"It almost looks like a wedding dress, huh?" Y/n mused, twisting so the gown swished back and forth on the floor. "Don't know if I would've worn this to our wedding, though."
Harry and Y/n never had a big white wedding. They'd snuck out to a courthouse one afternoon while One Direction was touring, with Niall and Louis as their witnesses while Liam distracted everyone at the hotel. It was small and rushed, and the judge definitely thought the couple was much too young to be getting married. They didn't even have rings, as a wedding band on Harry's finger would be completely unacceptable. But none of that mattered as they both recited the vows they prepared and sealed their union with a kiss.
Her jokes did the trick, and Harry's brain began functioning normally once more. He grinned and took her hand so she could spin and show him the whole thing. "The judge definitely would've raised his eyebrows."
Years went by and they never had a vow renewal. Since Harry had bought out his contract with One Direction's management, he'd wanted to have a proper wedding, but there was just never any time. And now that they were six kids in, free time was a pipe dream, though they were the kind of busy he would never be sorry for.
Tonight, though, in this dress, Y/n looked like she could walk down an aisle, and Harry was nearly tempted to run upstairs and grab the velvet box he'd had since he was seventeen years old.
"If you're not ready, I completely understand," he said.
"I'm nervous about tonight," Y/n admitted, and with one look at her face, Harry could see the anxiety written all over it.
They could keep the secret going, he could brave this night with Kid and Jeffrey and it would be great. He would miss Y/n and the rest of his family, but he would manage as he always did.
Y/n shook her head, and Harry's shoulders sagged just the tiniest bit with relief. "I want to be with you tonight. This is a big deal."
"It's nothing—"
"Don't do that," Y/n chided, holding Harry's face in her hands. "Don't minimize what a great achievement just being nominated is."
Y/n knew Harry like no one else. She knew he would try to downplay tonight if it made her worry about him less, but this was his big night. Win or lose, she was immensely proud of him, he had to know that.
"I'm coming, you just have to promise to hold my hand the entire night," she said.
Harry grinned. "What if I win and have to make a big speech?"
She wrapped her hands around his neck, her fingers tangling in the soft strands of his hair. "Then and only then can you let go. Oh, and for your performance. But that's it."
"I think I can make that work."
Harry leaned in, his nose brushing against Y/n's teasingly until she pressed her lips against his. They were hardly brushing when the sound of footsteps hurtled down the stairs.
"Mommy! Simone says she gets to stay up all night to watch the show and I don't!"
"You're not old enough, Collette!"
"Neither are you!"
"Daddy, don't go," Julian cried, tugging on Harry's pant leg. He gave Y/n a look as they pulled apart to attend to their children. Sweeping Jules into his arms, he gave his only son a kiss on the cheek, which was already sticky with shed tears.
"Don't cry, Julian," he said softly, pushing the boy's thick hair from his face. "We won't be gone long. I promise."
Julian continued to cry, nuzzling his nose into the crook of Harry's neck, and Harry whispered softly into his ear until his son's little heart stopped beating so wildly in his chest. Jules hiccuped as Harry walked over to see that the argument between Maeve and Collette had been settled, and they were now admiring Y/n in her dress.
"I wish I could take you with me, Jules, but I don't think you'd like it very much," Harry said. He tried to set his son down, but his little legs clung to Harry's waist even tighter. "It'll be loud with lots of bright lights and not a chicken nugget in sight. I think it's best you stay home, don't you think?"
Julian nodded, but he was still clinging to Harry, who shot a look of desperation to his wife. Harry loved all of his children dearly, but they were on a tight schedule.
Y/n understood and took Julian into her arms, not at all worried about the couture dress she was wearing. She took him back upstairs where the babysitter was with Geneva and Natalia and Maeve. When she came back down a couple minutes later, Julian was gone.
"Poor thing tired himself out," she explained. Then, to her two oldest children, she said, "The second the last acceptance speech is done, up to bed. Understood?"
Simone and Collette nodded, then rushed forward to hug Y/n and Harry before ushering them out of the house, telling them to say hi to Auntie Lizzo.
As promised, Harry took Y/n's hand as they walked to the car that would take them to the theater that was hosting the Grammys. She looked at him appreciatively, resting her head on his shoulder as the car pulled away from their house.
"I'm proud of you," she said out of the blue. "If I don't get the chance to say it when you win, when you win," she repeated when Harry tried to object. "I just want you to know how proud I am of you, and not just as an artist, but as a dad and a husband too. You're one in a million, H, and I'm so happy I get to be a small part of that."
Harry was speechless. There was nothing to say that would express how much he appreciated Y/n, so he settled for a kiss. His hand was steady as he cradled the back of her head, his lips immediately finding the familiar place around her bottom lip. He suddenly wished Y/n's dress didn't have so much fabric so he could have better access to her, but he settled for trailing his hands up and down her arms and kissing all along her jaw and neck and chest until she eventually pulled him up again.
"This is one way to settle nerves," she joked, thumb grazing his jaw.
"Let me know if your nerves need any more settling throughout the night. We can sneak away during commercial breaks."
Y/n shook her head at the look Harry gave her, the same one that landed her pregnant six times. "I'll keep that in mind."
*.*.*.*.*.*.*.**.*.*.*.*.*.*.**.*.*.*.*.*.*.**.*.*.*.*.*.*.*
Harry took a bow at the end of his performance, then straightened. His eyes trailed the room back to where his table was, finding Y/n's gaze instantly. Her hands were clasped together tightly, covering the bright smile on her face.
Looking at her, his heart settled. He'd gotten lost in the heat of the performance, but she always managed to bring him back down to earth.
*.*.*.*.*.*.*.**.*.*.*.*.*.*.**.*.*.*.*.*.*.**.*.*.*.*.*.*.*
Before he could think about it, he pressed his fingers to his mouth, then gestured out, blowing a kiss to his wife. Not caring who was watching, Y/n reached up and grabbed the kiss out of the air and placed it on her chest, her eyes crinkling even further as she continued to smile from ear to ear.
"So, Harry, talk to us a little about how it feels to win Album of the Year."
Harry gave his answer, talking about how surprised he was to win and what it meant to him that his music meant so much to people. Y/n thought it was cute how he stumbled over his words, trying to piece together how he felt.
"And how do you plan to celebrate? Can we expect to see you at any after parties tonight?"
"Uh, no. It's back home to the little ones for me," he said, the answer rolling off his tongue before it was too late.
"Little ones?"
"My, um, my cats. I have a few cats that are practically my children. I'll be celebrating with them tonight."
"There's no way in hell anyone is gonna believe that," Y/n muttered to Jeff, who was holding his head in his hands, not unlike Harry had when he won earlier.
"Well, Harry, we wish you all the best!"
"Thank you, I appreciate that," he said before shuffling away from the press room.

The Final Late Late Show
A/N: how are you lovies?! its been a minute since I've posted but i just HAD to write about this as soon as I saw it! 💚
SUMMARY: For the final Late Late Show, YN and Harry are two of the three final guests. Here are some snippets from the final episode! (2.5k)
GENRE: 1dbandmember!yn, married!ynrry, famous!reader
SINCE 2010 masterlist
Tumblr media
“Joining us also, he’s the biggest superstar in the world. He’s a three-time Grammy winner. He’s your friend, he’s my friend. Harry Styles is here tonight!”
Harry’s dimple smile appears from the small window on the door. “Hi, mate! Man, terrible timing with this door thing, eh?...Cause it’s yeh last show.”
“Yeah, yeah. I know,” James dramatically sighs in frustration.
“I mean what are the chances, you know? Absolute disaster,” Harry humorously rolls his eyes with a smile. “...cause it’s yeh last show.”
“Yeah, I’m well aware that it’s my last show, Harry, thank you very much! I don’t need anybody to tell me that. Nobody knows that more than me. This is a disaster!”
“James! James!” YN steps in next to her husband and peaks through the tiny window through the door.
“YN! Oh, thank God!” The talk show host sighs in relief. “Also joining us tonight is the multi-talented mega star of the century. She’s another dear friend of mine and married to this guy right here. Everybody give it up for YN YLN-Styles!”
She gives a small wave before turning her attention back to the host. “Don't worry, James. V’got everything under control,” YN says with a confident nods of her head.
“Oh, that’s great to hear. So you’ve called security to get the doors unlocked then?”
“Umm...no.” Fans can see Harry’s lips tucked in frown, shaking his head along to his wife’s words. “But I’ve got this fire extinguisher that m’gonna use to bash in the window.”
The audience members yell and cheer excitedly as they see YN hold up the red object and ask everyone to stand back. But before she can take a swing, the voice on the intercom lets them know that the door issue has been resolved.
...
“Everyone, please give it up for the one and only, Mrs. YN YLN-Styles!”
When the curtains zip open, YN has her back to the crowd. She comically looks over her shoulder and playfully acts surprised at the screaming crowd. As she walks down the stairs, everyone is able to see her full outfit for the night. Her white skirt and top combo hug her curves in just the right places but her (and Harry’s) favorite part has to be the white stain roses that hold the slide slit of her dress in place.
She smiles and gives high fives to the audience members as she passes them by. When she gets to James’s parents in the audience, she gives them kisses on both of their cheeks. And once she’s reached the stage, she happily takes her husband’s outreached hand as he helps her up the short steps.
When the third guest of the night makes his way onto the stage, Harry puts a hand on YN’s back and shuffles them over to the corner at what’s to come. They watch as Will takes swing after swing at James’s desk with a sledgehammer, destroying it into pieces. While Harry’s face expresses one of remorse over the obliterated scene, YN puts a fist over her smile as she laughs.
...
“Then you and your former bandmate turned wife—” James presents the couple sitting next to each other on the couch with a grand hand swing of his hands as he looks out to the screaming audience. “—came on the show a few years ago as a band. Then again when Harry hosted for the first time where you, YN, were one of the featured guests for that night. And you guys even played a game of Spill Your Guts Or Fill Your Guts.”
With the mention of the atrocious food game, James mentions how Will Ferrell loves the game so much that he specifically requested for them to play it one more time. Each guest is given their own cards with their questions on them and an obscene food concoction to eat if they do not want to answer their question.
Soon after, YN claps along with everyone else but her jaw is on the floor at the hefty scoop and bite Will takes from his nasty food arrangement despite not having to do so.
“Yeh really enjoyed that didn’t yeh?” She teases.
“It’s like Thanksgiving,” Will responds around a mouth full of bug trifles. “Alright, your turn YN.”
“Okay, mine says...” She says as she slowly gets the card out. Harry leans over to her to get a peek at the question and immediately lets out a chuckle, trying to cover it up with a cough to his fist but fails. “Uh oh. When and where did you and Harry have your first kiss together?”
The crowd goes into a frantic frenzy at the possibility of getting official confirmation of the heavily researched and hypothesized answer. She wiggles her brows in a playful manner towards her husband and it only makes him laugh harder.
She contemplates on revealing the answer, it is the last show after all...but where’s the fun in that?
“Umm...” She hides her smile behind the purple card before shrugging her shoulders. “Guess m’taking a bite out of a grasshopper.”
“I’ll do one with you,” Will generously offers, already reaching for one of the little bugs in the small bowl. They clink their grasshoppers together before plopping them past their lips. While Will happily reaches for seconds, YN puts on a strained, pained smile as she chews.
“Mmm, yummy,” She sarcastically says, making James let out one of his high-pitched laughs. She gladly takes the mug from Harry’s giving hands to rinse her mouth of the odd taste.
When Harry reads his question asking if there will be a One Direction reunion, the crowd erupts in screams once again. The couple gives each other a humorous look, absolutely eating up the way the audience goes crazy at the mention of their band.
“I think if there was a time where we all felt that that was something we wanted to do—” Harry’s interrupted by Will mocking the crowd awing and cooing at the mention of their old band. It has the two former band members giggling before he continues. “Then I don’t see why we wouldn’t.”
“YN, this question kind of goes to you as well,” James offers.
“Yeah, I mean. I totally agree with everything he said. We’re definitely not opposed to it. If it happens, it happens.”
“I’ll take that as a yes!” James exclaims. “I mean, we already have a permanent, mini reunion with the two of you being married.”
“Wait, you guys are married?” Will dramatically questions with faux confusion that makes everyone in the room laugh.
“Wait, wait, can we please get a close up of this really quick,” James frantically moves his hands as the couple holds up their hands to show their wedding rings. It’s in this moment that fans realize that the two of them aren’t wearing any of their regular set of rings across their fingers, solely the ones that signify their promise to love one another forevermore.
...
“Who’s more talented? Will Farrell, YN YLN-Styles or Harry Styles?”
There’s no forethought or second guessing with the couple’s response to immediately vouch for Will.
“Sustainable talent,” Harry points out with a sweep of his hand.
“There’s literally nothing this man can’t do,” YN compliments.
The couple breaks out in bright smiles when Will begins to sing a solemn version of As It Was. But what has YN turning into a fit of giggles, her head leaning back as she hovers her hands over her mouth is when the famous comedian begins to sing 34+35 with a strong vibrato.
It’s then Will’s turn to let out a string of giddy chuckles when James then asks the married couple to do an impression of the comedic actor.
“Ladies first,” Harry quickly says with a tap on his wife’s hand.
“Hmm...Oh okay, ‘ve out it.” YN comically clears her throat and readjusts herself on the couch. “Yeh ready for this? I’m singing. I’m in a store and I’m singing. I’m in a store, and I’m singing!”
Will doubles over in laughter, applauding along with everyone else at her spot-on impression. As The Roots plays a snippet of celebration music, YN stands from her seat and takes a grand bow.
“Actually, I’ve been meaning to ask you, YN,” Will turns his attention to the pop star next to him. When she gives an encouraging nod of her head, he continues with a professionally acted sense of genuine curiosity, “What exactly does 34+35 mean?”
While everyone else in the room breaks out into laughter, YN lifts her gaze to the ceiling as she contemplates how to explain the sexual song. She tries to hide her smile by tucking in her lips but it's really hard to keep it professional when there’s an iconic actor asking that type of question. Even Harry has his face in his hands, his shoulder bouncing as he laughs.
She clears her throat as she adjusts her skirt and places her clasped hands over her crossed legs. She goes to open her mouth to answer but instead leans over to whisper the answer in the actor’s ear with a cupped hand instead.
“So it’s not about solving a math problem?!” Will dramatically exclaims.
“Harry, what’s your impression of Will?” YN says through a laugh, playfully attempting to change the subject.
Without saying a word, Harry gets up from his seat, grabs the sledgehammer, and smashes what’s left of James’s desk. YN puts her fingers in the corner of her mouth and blows a loud whistle at the sight before them as everyone else applauds with a mixture of cheering.
When it’s time for James to answer his question, he says, “So, we’ve known each other for quite some time, haven’t we? I would even go as far as to consider you both as family.” The married couple nods their heads in agreement. “But A, I watch Elf every year on Christmas. And B, I didn’t get an invitation to your wedding so,” James gives a shrug of his shoulders as the audience goes crazy.
...
In between a commercial break, fans and crew members record the interactions happening on the main stage. While James goes over to talk with Will, everybody else focuses on the married couple.
A cheeky sound technician plays Late Night Talking as background music. They watch as the two of them mouth along to the words and cheekily dance in their seats as they get lost in their own little world.
The fans watch them with hearts in their eyes. On some parts of the song, the couple will do the same little dance moves together, speculating that they do this behind closed doors as well: rolling their arms like they’re going to hit the woah, hands up and slicing the air in front of them as they move their upper bodies, and dramatically swiveling their heads to the funky beat—every move has them end up laughing quietly to one another.
It reminds the OG fans of how the two would be on their third world tour with the band. They’re easily reminded of when the two of them would sit next to each other on the raised platforms on the humongous catwalk and get distracted from singing. They would lean into each other, talking in one another’s ears, and squeeze their eyes shut as laughter overtook them. Almost a decade later and the two still act like a couple of love-sick teenagers.
There’s even a part during the chorus where Harry gets up from his seat to move his hips with a swing of his elbow; YN does the same movements but from her sitting down position.
When the couple turns their attention to the cheering crowd, Harry points to his wife and mouths, “She produced the song!”
...
“And to add onto that,” YN places a hand on Harry’s arm after he complimented James. “I think I can speak for both of us in that we’re so grateful to have met yeh. You’ve been such a great friend to the both of us and I’m just super excited for what’s ahead of yeh.”
James pulls the both of them into a group hug from their spots on the couch and the audience laughs when Will scoots up to join the hug as well. YN can’t hold back the laugh that tumbles past her lips as the comedian reaches over her and her husband to pat James on the back.
When Will begins his mini speech to compliment the host on his hard work in the late night talk show industry, in the process he calls England a “shithole of a country.” While everyone knows he means it in a playful way and while the comment has James laughing, the married couple raise their eyebrows, purse their lips, and nod their head as they take the diss.
And while Will tries to continue what he has to say, it's not long before Harry gets up from his seat and grabs the sledgehammer.
“Hold him down, lovie,” He tells his wife who's already playfully reaching her angry fingers toward Will.
...
The Late Late music provided by The Roots mixes with the ear-piercing screams from the audience as they watch what’s happening backstage. Harry’s already sat in the photobooth’s seat and gently tugs his wife into his lap. She wraps an arm around the tops of his shoulders as they get ready for their picture to be taken. She tilts her head to touch his as he fully wraps his arms around her middle.
Right before the countdown reaches its end, his fingers dig into the ticklish part in her side and she jolts up in a laugh. Just in time, the picture captures YN’s bright, open-mouthed smile, her eyes squeezed shut and her nose cutely scrunched up; her husband’s expression matches similarly to her own.
In the end, the picture ends up in the middle of three pictures on the collaged wall: one of the band during their last Late Late interview as a four piece. YN is sitting in the middle of the group with a sly smile on her face as her long haired band mate has a hand on her shoulder. On the other side, one of Harry’s solo shots of when he first came on the show as a solo artist, and beside that one is one of YN when she came on the show when Harry hosted. At the time, her hair was barely below her ears, her naturally curly hair looked like a cloud on her head. She has one eye squinted shut, her tongue peaking out from between her teeth as she holds up a peace sign.
Looking at the pictures in front of them, they reminisce on their shared history of being on this show. The Late Late studio has seen these two back when they were merely bandmates, secretly pining over one another with so many barriers in their way. It’s seen how they came back on the show as solo artists a few years later. It was a perfectly timed occasion for the both of them as they hid their secret relationship away from the public eye with a live audience and cameras in their faces.
And now, as the last guests on the show, the studio sees the pair happily married and more in love with one another than they’ve ever been before.

Y/N L/N and Harry Styles Argue Over The Internets Biggest Debates | Agree to Disagree | LaDbible TV
(Playing Leah and Matthew Hampton in the new movie, The Good and Bad Days)

Tumblr media

“I honestly think my amazing singing abilities shouldn’t go unnoticed. I’m going to have my breakthrough one day,” You shrugged, speaking more to the crew behind the camera. Chuckles passed around, and Harry joined them.
“Yeah, what’s the name of your single going to be?” He asked, genuinely interested in your idea.
“I’ll probably name it after a vegetable because you apparently love singing about fruits and naming your songs after them.” Both you and Harry shared sneaky smirks, before glancing at the camera. “Think I just gave away a secret. Sorry not sorry.” Harry’s new album, Fine Line, hadn’t come out yet, nor did people know the names of the songs, so your comment exploded on stan Twitter.
Harry sighed, “Trying to expose me now, competitor?”
You pointed at the camera and exclaimed, “I’m coming for all those Grammys.”
“I thought you were rooting for me to get one?”
“I can’t root for the competition anymore, sorry,” You frowned, reaching a hand out across the table. Harry instantly took it, even though he was supposed to pretend he was offended, but he wouldn’t pass an opportunity to touch you. “I’ll add your name under mine in Sharpie so we can share it.”
[Agree To Disagree]
You and Harry looked at the table that had ‘Strongly Agree, Agree, Disagree, and Strongly Disagree written down in a line.
“I thought we were going to be working together,” Harry cocked a brow up, noticing two cups filled with water in front of each of you.
“Honey, it’s called Agree to Disagree,” you snorted, “we’re supposed to debate.” The producers had explained the simple concept to the both of you earlier, and Harry was there nodding at their words, but for some reason forgot everything that was said.
You slapped your hand on your forehead while Harry huffed, “This isn’t going to go well at all.”
“Why so?” You asked, feeling for his feet under the table. There was no cloth covering the sides, so the camera captured Harry tangling his legs with yours. The fans were already in the mist of making edits with that clip.
“Because the nights when we’re up talking, and supposedly “debating” about stuff, I always end up agreeing with you in the end.”
You looked at the camera and smirked. “All true. I’m one persuasive gal.” Instead of verbally agreeing, Harry pushed his glass over to Strongly Agree, and a chorus of laughter strung around the room.
“I think that’s why we’re working out just peachy.”
“Did you just label our relationship peachy?” You squinted your eyes at him.
Harry only shrugged. “I like fruits, what can I say?”
Y/N L/N Leah Hampton
“Alright I’m ready,” you rubbed your hands together and wiggled your brows at your boyfriend across from you.
Harry Styles Matthew Hampton
“Are they easy questions?” Harry asked to the crew behind the camera.
-
HARRY’S ACCENT SOUNDS BETTER THAN Y/N’S
Both you and Harry darted your eyes to your glasses then to each other. You were the first to break out into loud laughter, throwing your head back. Harry rolled his lips inwards and sighed.
“Okay wait, let’s choose then talk about this,” You put one hand up while the other moved your glass to Strongly Agree. Harry paused, thinking about it, before sliding his glass to Disagree. “Oh? You don’t agree?”
He shook his head and leaned back into his chair. “I think yours is beautiful.”
“Oh, what a suck-up,” You laughed, kicking him softly. He blushed slightly and adjusted in his seat. “I know for a fact, Mr. Narcissist, that you think your accent is ten times better than mine.”
“No,” He frowned. You turned to face the camera and gave it a bored look. “Y/N, I always compliment your accent. I think it suits you very well.”
“That doesn’t mean you don’t absolutely adore the power your accent has over the world,” You smirked. Harry stayed silent, and you flipped your hair behind your shoulder dramatically. “Would you like me to move your glass?” You asked him.
He shook his head and wrapped his hand around it to push it farther, landing on Strongly Disagree. Instead of acknowledging your scoff, he turned to the crew and camera.
“Y/N has a lovely accent and I think it’s better than mine. Signed Harry E. Styles,” Harry announced, before using the tip of his finger to scribble on the table.
“Well, there you have it folks,” You laughed.
“Next.”
-
DOGS ARE BETTER COMPANIONS THAN CATS
You both didn’t hesitate to drag your glasses to Strongly Agree, before leaning forward to high five each other.
“No need to bother debating about that,” Y/N rested her chin in her palm, elbow on the table.
Harry said, “I think cats are great, but dogs are just better. Nothing against them,” he then motioned to you, “and Y/N said her spirit animal is an Australian Shepherd, so I think that just enhances my love for dogs even more.”
You giggled and scrunched your nose at him. “Thank you, honey.” Then you pointed at him. “But you know, people started comparing you to cats, so that might be your spirit animal.”
“Do they now?” Harry smiled.
“Yeah, but I agree with them. Especially cuddling-wise. You snuggle up on me just like a cat would, which I love very much.”
The crew behind the camera awed and laughed as Harry blushed at his girlfriend. “I will neither confirm nor deny that.”
“You’re never beating those cat allegations, kid.”
The producer suddenly spoke up. “So, if we were to bring out a litter of puppies and kittens, which would you want to—”
“Wait, that’s unfair. Both puppies and kittens are adorable. I love them both,” You groaned.
“You immediately moved your glass to Strongly Agree, Y/N,” They laughed.
Harry chipped in, “No, I get it. Dogs and cats are different from puppies and kittens.”
You crossed your arms over each other. “Even though it would be difficult, I’d still choose the puppies. But I would, like, sneak a hand over to pet some kittens,” You said, slowly reaching over for Harry’s hand and brushing the back of it.
“Oh, am I said kitten?” He questioned with a chuckle.
“It’s the snuggling. You can’t convince me otherwise that you aren’t spiritually a cat.”
-
Y/N IS A BETTER SINGER THAN HARRY
Harry glared at the crew with a smirk, knowing they were just trying to get him in trouble. Y/N only shrugged and moved her glass to Strongly Agree.
“I’ve asked him multiple times if I could be featured in one of his songs, but he said my singing f[bleep]king sucks,” Y/N said. Harry immediately slammed a hand on the table and scoffed loudly.
“I never said that!”
Y/N gave him a bored look. “Did you not?”
“I would never, I think your voice is amazing,” He started, nudging his leg against hers, “but what I did say was: I wasn’t doing any collaborations on the album. It has nothing to do with you, babe.”
Y/N stared at him blankly, before turning to the camera. “Did he not just say the same damn thing I just did?”
Everyone laughed.
“Jesus, Y/N,” Harry sighed.
“I honestly think my amazing singing abilities shouldn’t go unnoticed. I’m going to have my break through one day,” You shrugged. Chuckles passed around, and Harry joined them.
“Yeah, what’s the name of your single going to be?” He asked.
“I’ll probably name it after a vegetable because you apparently love singing about fruits and naming your songs after them.” Both you and Harry shared sneaky smirks, before glancing at the camera. “Think I just gave away a secret. Sorry not sorry.”
-
WINTER IS BETTER THAN SUMMER
Both you and Harry had to think about it. You tapped your nails against the glass.
“I’m torn because I like both,” You said to Harry. He nodded, before looking back down at the table. “We go to the beach and stuff during the summer, but I really like traveling with you during winter. Especially during the holidays and New Years, ya know?”
“Is it because you get to kiss me, Ms. L/N?” Harry wiggled his brows. You blinked at him, before looking at the camera.
“Maybe summer isn’t so bad after all.”
“Hey!”
You finally decided to move your glass to Agree, then Harry followed. “Why so, Mr. Harold?” Your chin found your palm again.
He shrugged, “You like winter better, and I like you, so that’s enough convincing I need.” Yeah, the fandom was going crazy over the video, and you were scared to open any social media platforms the next day.
“See, I’m very persuasive without even needing to try.”
“But actually, I do enjoy winter activities more, like the outdoor ice skating and the cliché hot chocolate while laying together near a fire. I’m a real romantic,” Harry said.
“You should be in a rom-com. I’d kill to see you in one,” You exclaimed. “But I think I’d get jealous of the female lead, so probably not.”
Harry smirked, “Who said you wouldn’t be the female lead?” Both of you winked at the camera. “Besides, I do all the rom-com stuff from the movies with you in real life.”
“That is true.” You turned to the crew to tell a quick story. “Last year, the week before Christmas, we went to New York and did all the most cheesy ‘couples during the holiday’ things ever. Remember?” Harry nodded. “Then went to his hometown to do it all over again. And come Christmas Eve—”
“Stayed up with hot chocolate, cookies, Christmas karaoke and movies, and watched Santa on a tracker to see when he’d stop by. It was great,” Harry finished, sighing while he reminisced.
You did too. “New Years was fun, as well.”
“Don’t worry, we’ll do everything again this year,” Harry held your hand.
“I’m counting on it.”

HARRY SHOULD BE CONSIDERED IN THE RUNNING FOR THE SEXIEST MAN ALIVE MAGAZINE
Harry waited for your decision first with a smirk. You only furrowed your brows in thought. “What?” Harry asked you.
“I mean, I don’t really need a magazine to remind me that you’re the sexiest man alive. I always know that,” You shrugged. Harry covered his eyes in embarrassment. He was horrible with compliments, especially from people who’s opinion mattered a lot to him.
The producer said, “Can I add a glass so I can put it on Strongly Agree because I definitely agree with your statement.”
“He’s not going to say what he thinks, so you can use his,” You said, moving Harry’s glass to Strongly Agree. You pushed your own next to his, before turning in your chair to the producer. “People magazine should start a yearly ‘Funniest Dad Joker Man Alive’ then Harry would love to be considered in the running. Can you reach out to them and ask?”
The producer gave you a thumbs up. Harry giggled, keeping his hand over his eyes, but his dimpled smile was a dead giveaway that he was enjoying this.
“I’d like him to run for ‘Most Beautiful Man Alive’ because then that should make me the most beautiful woman by association, right?” You suggested.
“Not exactly, but we do think you’d win,” The producer said.
“Also, there should be a couples version,” You shook your finger.
“For sexiest or most beautiful?” Harry chipped in to ask. His hand moved from his eyes so you could look at him.
You shrugged nonchalantly, “Either or, we’d win anyways.” Harry threw his head back to laugh. “What other category would we dominate for a couple’s version?”
Harry bit his lip to think about it. You could tell he was coming up with a Harry joke simply from his slow smile.
“Oh no,” You chuckled.
“Best Accents, specifically Y/N,” He looked at the camera.
You shook your head at him. “Please tell me you weren't still thinking about that, honey. We moved on.”
“I could’ve brought up the collaboration—”
“Okay, next one!”
-
THE GOOD AND BAD DAYS NEEDS A SEQUEL
You thought that was actually a great question because you weren’t sure.
“I mean,” You slurred, slowly moving your glass to Agree. Harry kept a short smile on his lips as he stared at you, rather than your glass. You suddenly grew shy. “What?”
“You’re very pretty. I like looking at you.”
You rolled your eyes and placed your hand between your face and Harry’s line of vision. Harry’s legs played with yours, but you upright ignored him.
“I think there should be a sequel, because even though I think it ended perfectly, people would probably want more of Leah and Matthew’s story. They’d want to know what they’re doing after the circumstances of the ending—can’t say much until it’s out—but I’d like another movie.”
Harry nodded in agreement. “I think whether there’s a sequel or not, Leah and Matthew got what they really needed. They are happy, which calls for a happy ending. And more conflicts will definitely show up in their long run, so if another movie wants to touch on that, I’d love to see it,” he said.
“I think you guys are going to like the movie as it is and don’t even need a sequel because you’ll be satisfied. But we’ll see,” You shrugged.
-
“Thank you so much for having us,” Harry spoke first.
“Go check out The Good and Bad Days when it comes out in theaters,” You added. “Have a great day, sincerely, from your favorite peachy couple.”
Harry laughed and raised a thumbs up. “Bye.”

break my heart again
Tumblr media
an angsty one shot about overheard conversations, Grammy awards and a girl who just wants to be loved
“I’m sorry,” Harry apologised, regret etched into his face.
“Don’t be,” Bella replied, not turning to look at him. “I can’t say I didn’t see this coming.”
“It’s the Grammy’s,” He implored, reaching out and tugging on her shoulder to get her to look back at him.
She shrugged his arm off and took a step further away before sucking in a deep breath and turning to face Harry once again. “I know. And I get it. I really get it, Harry. This is a big opportunity for you and you have a real chance of winning.”
“Yes, exactly!” He said in relief, allowing a small smile to curl his lips. But Bella didn’t smile back and his own slipped off just as quickly as it had appeared. “There’s a but,” he stated.
“There’s a but,” Bella nodded. “My sister’s wedding is on the same day. You knew this.”
“I know,” he agreed.
“But this is more important to you,” Bella continued for him.
“Don’t put words in my mouth,” Harry replied sharply, his lips turning down as he tried not to snarl. He hated when people accused him of things when they had no idea what was going through his head.
“I’m not,” she shrugged. “I heard you on the phone to your manager,” she took another step away from him.
“You were listening in on my phone calls?” he glared at her, feeling a pinch in his chest. He ignored it, refusing to acknowledge the trickle of guilt forming in his heart.
“You know I wasn’t,” Bella shook her head, already so disappointed she couldn’t even find herself feeling angry at his accusal. “I had come over cause we were meant to go to dinner that night. You were the one who gave me a key to your house, remember?”
Another step back, and this time Harry’s eyes flashed as he stomped across the room and stood right in front of her. “Why are you slowly stepping further and further away?” he asked her, his voice a low growl. “We need to talk about this. You can’t just decide to leave.”
Bella swallowed back the lump in her throat and looked away from him, her eyes landing on her shoes as she tried to draw up enough courage to say what she needed to say.
“This isn’t working, Harry,” she told him.
“What do you mean?” he took a sudden step back, his voice once again back to its normal decibel.
“I mean, I think we need to stop pretending this, whatever this is between us, is working. Your career is always going to be more important to you. I will always be further down that list. I don't even come in second,” she scoffed bitterly, wrapping her arms around her stomach to try and hold herself together as she felt herself fall apart inside.
“What the fuck are you on about, love?” he scoffed right back. “You’re talking rubbish. We’ve known each other our whole lives, no one else works as well as we do.”
“Harry,” Bella sighed, looking up at him once again. “I know.”
“Know what?”
“I’ve known from the start. This thing between us was never real for you.” She lifted a hand and rubbed away the lone tear that had escaped. She hadn’t even felt them building.
“What?” This time Harry took a step back, fear of what Bella was saying and worry about what she was about to reveal, causing his heart to race.
“I heard you talking to Jeff that day over a year ago, before you asked me out. How dating me would be great for your image since we’ve known each other longer than almost anyone else. How dating someone who wasn’t famous would be a better brand for you, to make you more relatable to the fans. How it would make you more endearing,” she spoke, not taking a breath and letting out all the words she’d buried deeper and deeper in her chest for the last year of her life. “I’d hoped maybe, just maybe that you’d fall in love with me too. I thought maybe when you gave me a key to your place it meant that you cared just a little. But I was wrong. And I don’t blame you,” she continued. “It was my fault. I knew what I was getting into and I did it anyway.”
“Bella,” Harry paused and took a deep breath then started again. “I…fuck. I should have told you from the start,” he began, hating the heartbroken look on her face. “But you have to know that I do-”
“Don’t,” Bella stopped him, anger written all over her face. “Don’t lie to me,” she told him. “Not anymore.”
“Did you even realise that I also got the email Jeff sent to you and your management and PR team?” she asked him.
“No,” Harry looked horrified, feeling sick at the reminder of the words he’d read and the words he’d typed back, hitting reply all in the email.
“Yes,” Bella said sadly. “So I’m saving you the trouble. Here’s my key,” she placed it on the coffee table by the door where Harry had thrown his own keys. “I’ve already told my sister that you won’t be able to make it to her wedding - she said congrats on the Grammy nomination and she hopes you win. So, you don’t have to worry about finding an excuse to - what was it you called it? - an excuse to get out of going to a stuffy event that you didn’t care about?”
Harry flinched at the harsh words he’d used. He remembered being so angry and frustrated that day that he’d been rude in every conversation he’d had, and every email and text he’d sent. Things hadn’t gone right in the studio and he’d taken it out on everyone around him.
“Bella,” he tried again, but she held up a hand.
“Don’t worry, Harry,” she sighed, shoulders dropping in defeat. “Like I said we don’t have to pretend anymore, at least not between us. I know you want to go to the Grammy’s. And I know you want it to go off without a hitch, so I won’t say anything.”
“Say anything?” he repeated, dumbly. “About us being broken up,” she told him, not meeting his eyes.
“Broke-broken up?”
“That’s the next step according to the emails. They all seemed to think I was in on all of this,” she waved her hands around between the two of them. “So they sent me a timeline of when and how we were to break up and all the things I was and wasn’t allowed to say about it.”
“They did what?” Harry asked, and when she looked up at him he looked furious.
“Yeah,” Bella reached into her bag and pulled out a crumpled up piece of paper with a list of instructions on it. She handed it over to Harry. “I- I thought you would have helped come up with these.”
Harry was silent for a couple of minutes, reading down the list, his jaw clenching and unclenching as his fingers tightened on the edges. “I would never come up with anything like this,” he told her, looking up. His eyes were pleading with her to believe him. But Bella just shrugged and looked away, and Harry didn’t think his heart had ever ached this much in his life. “It still doesn’t matter,” she told him.
“Of course it matters!” He hissed. “No one told me about this shit,” he waved the paper at her.
Bella smiled a little bitterly, her eyes once again looking so sad. “No one told me about our whole relationship, so I guess that kinda makes two of us.”
He flinched back at her comment and she regretted saying anything. Despite everything, she still didn’t want to hurt him.
“Like I said, it doesn’t matter,” she shut her eyes, counted to ten and then looked back up at him. “I already agreed to all the conditions. You’ll go to the Grammy’s and win your awards and feel accomplished, and I’ll go to my sister’s wedding and spend the day with my family pretending everything is fine between us. Then a few weeks later, your team will let it slip to the media that we’re going through a rough patch and a couple days later we’ll confirm that we’ve broken up,” she told him, not an ounce of emotion behind her words.
Harry hated it.
“No,” Harry shook his head. “I don’t want to break up.”
“Harry,” Bella sighed, this time sounding exasperated. “Not everything is about what you want.”
“I know that,” he said defensively.
“Then you need to accept that this is happening.”
“You-you want to break up?” he asked her, his chest tight. He couldn't breathe.
Bella shook her head and Harry almost felt a little bit of relief until she spoke again. “I want to be loved,” she said sadly. “And I don’t think you know how to do that.”
She took a step forward and gripped Harry’s hand. “I hope - I hope one day you’ll realise your worth isn’t defined by your success and I hope that one day you’ll be able to let yourself fall in love with someone who makes you forget about the rest of the world enough that you put them first. And I’m sorry that wasn’t me.”
Then she turned and walked out the door, leaving Harry clutching hold of the locket he’d given her. He opened it and stared at the two photos she’d placed inside one night when they’d been cuddled on the couch watching a movie.
The two images stared back at him, teasing him cruelly with the smiling faces of himself and Bella when they were ten. The same smiles were on the other side with a picture of them ten years later when they’d recreated their childhood photo.
He didn’t realise he was crying until a single tear dripped onto the locket.

love of my life
chapter two
harry got the text the moment he finished up filming for the day. he couldn’t believe someone was following them. how dare they invade their privacy like that?
he was pissed. no he was livid! it’s one thing to mess with him. it’s another to mess with his wife, his family!
harry called jeff immediately. he needs to know who was responsible. when jeff finally answered the phone harry completely lost it. jeff knew he wasn’t mad at him.
jeff let him know that they’re getting to the bottom of it and whoever is responsible will be sued as soon as possible.
but harry needed to know what to do from here on out. jeff told him to lay low until the grammy’s. harry just sighed before ending the call.
he turned and was startled by olivia. harry gives her the best smile he could due to the circumstances. olivia was cool. but she was very flirty and touchy with the male cast.
she didn’t know he was married. in fact no one here knew he was married. you and harry only told people who needed to know. and that was mostly his team and a few of his friends he had.
he didn’t know anyone here really, so no one needed to know about you. especially now that you have maybelle.
“everything okay, harry?”
harry nods. “they’re great! did you need anything else from me?”
olivia shakes her head.
“if you don’t mind i have to head home.”
“wait! a few of us are going out. why don’t you join us?”
harry shakes his head politely declining. he needed to get home to you and make sure you and may are okay. he heads to his trailer, grabs his things, and drives home.
when harry gets home he hears you on the phone. he heard your moms voice on the other line and knew you were stressing.
when he makes himself known you tell your mom you’d call her later. harry grabs your hand and kisses the back of it.
“it’s gonna be okay, baby. i promise that we will catch this stupid ass pap and sue him for all he worth.”
you sniffle, burying your head into his chest as he kisses the top of your head.
“im more worried about maybelle. she’s just a baby harry. she doesn’t deserve to be exploited.”
“i know baby. i promise you no matter what may will be protected. they can’t do shit because may’s a minor.”
“i heard some of your fans already found my instagram. it’s private but im still worried. what if someone hacks it? there are some photos of may. should i delete them just in case?”
harry hums. “i think you should, babe. just to be safe.”
you nod. grabbing your phone and opening your instagram. deleting the four photos of your daughter you close the app and plop down on the couch.
Tumblr media
the aftermath of everything was hectic. so many rumors were going around. especially since they found your instagram.
they called you a cheater because of your current bio. they called you a slut, whore, bitch. any name in the book. you tried not to let the comments get to you, you tried to keep up the charade, but harry could see right through it.
he honestly had enough. you deserved to get out of this house and enjoy yourself. maybe call up a few girlfriends so you could get your mind off of everything.
when he brought up the idea you shook your head. not wanting to risk being caught again. you’d rather suffer inside your own home.
but your husband wasn’t having it. he called up a few of your friends and told them to come over to get you ready for a girls night.
reluctantly you went. and you had an amazing night. going to the spa, going shopping, buying cute little clothes for maybelle. you felt happier. obviously still not feeling too great.
you kept looking over your shoulders to make sure no one was following you. but you still felt a bit more relaxed.
unfortunately that didn’t last when you got home. you saw jeffs car parked and knew this couldn’t be good news.
when you got into the house your suspicion were confirmed. harry was yelling loudly. you frowned even more when you saw olivia wilde was standing right beside jeff with a small smile on her face.
“i said no, jeff!”
“come on harry. this will be good for you. you could still keep your life a secret from the world and just state she’s a family friend who was struggling with something. then just show up with olivia here and there and no one will have to know about yn or may.”
harry shakes his head angrily. he couldn’t even believe what jeff was suggesting. he’s never been one to lie to his fans. not like this anyway! but he knew he wanted to keep the both you and maybelle safe.
he just knew this would hurt you. and that’s the last thing he wanted to do.
“we can figure something else out, jeff. i can’t put yn through that. she doesn’t deserve—”
“it’s okay, harry. i agree with jeff.” you made yourself known. everyone heads turned to you.
“baby, you don’t have to do this. i know you’ll be very uncomfortable.”
“im a grown up. i could handle it. its for may. we have to keep her out of the spotlight for as long as we can.”
harry sighs as he grabs his wife’s hand. he kisses the back of it before looking at jeff and olivia.
“fine! but two years, two years and that’s it. im not gonna hurt my wife for longer than that. do you both understand?”
they nod. jeff grabs the paper work and has both harry and olivia sign the contract. when everything was finished he holds you as jeff and olivia leave.
“you sure about this baby?”
you hum into his chest. “it’s just two years, yeah? and then we can go back to just being us. you, me, and may.”
“maybe another baby, huh?” you could practically hear the smirk. giggling into his chest you look up at your husband as he kisses you gently
Tumblr media
god, seeing harry pictures at jeffs wedding made you a tiny bit jealous. he was gorgeous! so was olivia. seeing them holding hands though triggered you a bit.
you knew it was all to keep your identity a secret. but, damn! did you want to be the one holding his hand at that very moment.
sometimes you wondered if keeping your marriage a secret was worth it. you wished you could be the one holding his hand. but you also loved that you were able to hide your relationship this long.
you weren’t ashamed of being harry’s wife. your husband was hot! you could never be ashamed of harry. but you liked it just being you and him. you and harry in your little bubble who created your own beautiful daughter.
“babe?”
lost in your train of thought you didn’t even realize harry had just got out of the shower. a towel wrapped around his waist. you smiled at him lovingly.
“you okay, darling?”
you hum, lifting yourself up as you walked over to your husband and wrap her arms around him. kissing him passionately.
harry hums through the kiss. he pulls away and smirks. “what’s gotten into you?”
“nothing! just love you so much.”
harry caresses your cheek. he looks deep into your eyes. staring at you like you were the only woman to exist. and to him you were. you meant absolutely everything to him and he’d tell you time and time again.
“i love you too.”
Tumblr media
today had been one whole year since your daughter was born. you couldn’t believe that she had been here a whole year.
you and harry planned a big party! you knew she didn’t know what was going on but she loved the attention. all of your friends and family surrounded her and showered her in kisses.
but she was one hundred percent a daddy’s girl. as soon as harry would pick her up and kiss her cheek she’s screamed happily.
her gummy smile was so adorable. maybelle made your heart sore every single time she smiled. she was definitely a happy baby!
“dada.”
harry chuckles as he kisses her forehead. “how’s my birthday girl, huh?”
“dada, cake!?”
“oh? my girl wants another piece of cake huh? gotta ask mama.”
“mama, cake?”
you giggle. “i guess. but only a small piece baby. don’t want you getting a tummy ache, yeah?”
you cut a small piece of cake. harry sits her down as you set the plate next to her. you feed her as she babbles.
you hum, pretending to understand every word she’s saying. everyone takes pictures of her. she smiles as she notices the flashes.
a few hours later everyone leaves while you and harry clean up.
“alright baby. you ready for bath time?”
“Bubbles?”
“yes, baby. bubbles.”
you head upstairs to start maybelle’s bath. harry ends up getting a phone call from olivia. he sighs.
it’s been eight months of being with olivia. she seems to always need something from harry. it was frustrating the both of you. it was almost like she didn’t understand this was all just to keep his family safe and private.
harry ignores her call, he heads upstairs to your shared bedroom, and hears his daughter babble as she splashes water.
harry laughs as he walks into the bathroom. “how are my three favorite girls doing?” harry asked as he looks at his daughter, bends down, and kisses your bump.
he was so excited to be having another baby with you. always wanting a big family.
“dada!”
“we’re great.”
and you were. you were very great. happy everything seemed to be in place despite everything you felt at peace.

A/N: I had no plans to write anything other than TLL, but then Harry got nominated for six Grammy’s and the group chat got me thinking so this is all thanks to @hslllot and @harrysblackcoat. Hope you enjoy!

He didn’t want to talk about it.
At least that’s what he said on Monday morning.
“It’s just any other morning,” he said casually. “A normal Tuesday. Nothing really special about it.”
You knew he was lying though.
A new edge to his constant fidgeting and the way his eyes wouldn’t meet yours revealed that there was something simmering below the surface. But you knew him well enough to leave him be and resumed your Google search for the alcoholic beverage that could be both congratulatory and conciliatory.
You’d dashed off to work and he’d wandered off to the gym or the studio or Jeff’s office or wherever he decided to spend the hours before his show, and the topic didn’t come up again. Instead, the texts between you two were mundane – him asking the best way to get a wine stain off his hoodie and you asking how much milk was left in the fridge during your post-work grocery run.
In fact, it didn’t come up until later that night. You were both in bed, him reclined on his pillows, a warm compress over his eyes and you next to him, typing away at the last of your work emails as some movie you’d both seen twenty times over played in the background.
“What do you think my chances are?” he asked softly.
You turned to look at him. The cloth still covered his eyes and most of his face, so it was hard to discern where his head was at.
“Your chances of what? Getting lucky?” You had a clue about where this conversation was heading and didn’t want to miss a chance to inject some levity into the situation.
“I know my chances of that are always 100 percent,” he said slowly. You could hear the smirk in his voice. “No,” he continued. He swallowed thickly. “Of like tomorrow. Getting nominated.”
“I thought you didn’t want to talk about this,” you said, testing the waters.
“I didn’t, but now I do.” He eased himself up onto his elbows and pulled the cloth from his eyes. “I’m just…” He twisted the fabric between his fingers, still refusing to meet your eyes. “It’s going to happen, right? But…” he trailed off. “What if it doesn’t?”
You looked at him. Harry was normally the kind of person that filled a room, his energy and enthusiasm making him seem larger than life. But tonight, in your bedroom, he seemed much smaller and so unsure of himself.
“H,” you said, grabbing his chin and tilting his face so that you could look into his eyes. “I promise you this, your name is going to be called tomorrow. I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life. But if it isn’t that’s OK too.”
He exhaled slowly, trilling his lips. “It shouldn’t matter, but if tomorrow’s a bust I’m going to feel like I let everyone down.”
“You’ve done so much this year, baby. Coachella, the new album, the tour, the charts. It’s all so much more than anyone expected. No one would be disappointed in you.”
“But Tom, Tyler, Mitch. They’d -”
“Still be proud of you no matter what,” you finished, cutting him off.
“I guess.” He started to pick at the damp cloth again. “But what about…?”
The question he didn’t dare voice hung in the air.
When you all at first started dating, it was easy to see that the public aspect of his life weighed heavily on Harry. Your early dates were mostly filled with you talking and him listening. Slowly but surely though, once he was confident you weren’t hoping to hook up with him for the story or a boost in followers, he started to open up and your relationship blossomed in turn. In the years since, you’d made it abundantly clear that you were in love with Harry, not Harry Styles, but it was apparent that deep down, his fears that people were just using him for the moment still lingered.
“Harry, do you remember the conversation we had last year before you left for Vegas?”
He nodded. It had been an emotional discussion as you were both caught up in the realization that you’d be apart for the longest period of time since you started seeing each other. The night before he was set to head out, Harry was honest with you. About the difficulties of touring, how life on the road impacted relationships, how he’d always struggled to find the balance between the thing and the people he loved most.
But, he stressed that this time would be different and reaffirmed his commitment to your relationship. Even though he would be miles away, you remained his first priority. In the moment, you’d nodded and tried to stifle the tears that were ready to flow and the fear that these were just empty words.
But they weren’t.
He talked to you every day. He Doordashed you soup when you were sick and sent you flowers and a cupcake from your favorite bakery on your birthday. When you were having a tough week at work, he sent you meme after meme to make you smile. When he stopped at the bookstore you’d been wanting to visit, there was a book and postcard from the shop on your doorstep the next day. He kept his word and that itself meant more than anything.
“Honestly, I didn’t think you’d be able to keep your promise,” you continued. “But you did. And knowing what kind of man you are, and how you are still that man no matter how much success comes your way. That’s worth more to me than having an Artist of the Year winner on my arm.”
Harry smiled softly, his cheeks pink. “Well, that’s a good thing since that’s not actually a category.”
“OK then,” you said with a laugh. “How about this…whether you get zero nominations, or 47 nominations –”
“I don’t think I can actually get that many,” he said with a sly grin.
“The point is regardless of if your name is called tomorrow morning, I’ve never been prouder of you than I am now. And nothing is going to change that.”
You leaned towards him and placed a gentle kiss on his lips. When you pulled away, you could see that his eyes were watering. You weren’t sure if it was from the weight of the moment or his earlier injury, but you brought the pad of your thumb up to his face and wiped away the moisture that was collecting under his eyes. When you were done, he pulled your wrist to his lips, kissing the palm of your hand.
“Thank you,” he said quietly. “I sometimes need a reminder of what really matters.”
“That’s OK, H,” you said. “I’ll always be here for whatever you need. Why don’t we go to bed now.”
Harry nodded, tossing his rag in the laundry and stripping down to his briefs while you stowed your laptop on your nightstand and plugged your phone in to charge. When you had situated yourself under the sheets, Harry turned off the lights and joined you under the covers, wrapping you up in his arms.
His breath was slow and steady and you’d thought he drifted off – he always fell asleep much sooner than you did – until he spoke again. “I think we should do something tomorrow.”
“What? The Grammy nominations and a concert aren’t enough?”
“No, no, like something for just the two of us,” he chided. “Like something to look forward to no matter what happens. A treat of sorts.”
“OK…” you said slowly. “What did you have in mind?”
“Champagne,” he said confidently. “And a blow job.”
“Wow! You really had that one ready to go.”
“What? If I’m sad, both of those will make me feel better. And if I’m happy…no better way to celebrate.”
“Whatever you say,” you said, pressing a sleepy kiss to his pec. “I love you, Harry.”
“Love you, too,” you heard him mumble before drifting off to sleep.
***
The two of you woke to the sound of a phone vibrating. Once. Then again. Then again. And again until the vibrations were constant and Harry’s phone was sliding across the nightstand.
He rolled over to grab the device, quickly returning to his position beside you. He took a deep breath before looking at the screen.
You studied his face as he read through the notifications. Joy, disbelief, pure happiness, shock – he seemingly experienced every emotion in that moment before he looked at you again.
“Good news?” you asked.
He nodded. “Six nominations. Maybe another one. I’m not sure,” he stammered, words running together. “The majors too. Album, song, and record. Fuck,” he said, as a sob escaped him. “Fuck, I can’t believe it happened.”
“You deserve it, H,” you said, hugging him tightly until the embrace was interrupted by an incoming call.
“Shit,” he said, fumbling to answer it. “It’s just Jeffrey. I’ll call him later.”
“No, talk to him now,” you said, extracting yourself from the pile of blankets and Harry’s limbs. “Take your time. I’ll get breakfast ready.”
As you walked towards the door, you heard Jeff’s screams echoing through the phone speaker, mixing with Harry’s laughter. You padded into the kitchen, starting the coffee maker and fishing the bottle of champagne you’d purchased yesterday from the back of the pantry, pouring it into two flutes. Coffee and alcohol ready, you sat at the table scrolling through your phone, responding to a couple of congratulatory texts from your own friends and family, reassuring them that you’d pass their well-wishes on to Harry.
A few minutes later Harry appeared in the doorway, searching for you and breaking out into a wide grin when he found you.
“Coffee and a treat are ready for you,” you said, rising from your chair.
“Thank you,” Harry replied, clinking his glass of bubbly against yours before taking a sip.
“Good call with Jeff and the rest of the guys?”
Harry nodded. “Yeah,” he said with a smile. “They’re through the roof. Made sure to say that none of it matters and all that stuff…” he rolled his eyes. “But I heard that all from someone much smarter and prettier last night.”
“Who is this remarkable person?”
“The one standing in front of me.”
You leaned onto your tiptoes to kiss him, tasting the sweetness of the drink on his lips. “You did good, baby,” you whispered against them.
Harry wrapped his arm around you and buried his face in your neck. “I owe it all to you,” he whispered back.
He held you like that for a moment, until you wiggled around in his arms, grazing your fingers down his torso until you hooked them in the waistband of his shorts.
“Oh?” he said, pulling back to look at you with glee. “This is happening? Now?”
“What? That was the deal. Champagne,” you took a sip from your glass before setting it on the counter. “And now a blow job.” You rubbed your hands along his waist as you shimmied his shorts down his legs.
“You don’t have to do this, baby.”.
“That wasn’t the deal,” you shot back. “Last night I told you how proud I was, now it’s time to show you.”
