Part 2: 70 Heart Kisses (1D years)

This post is in three parts:

When Harry got the Heart tattoo

70 Heart Kisses (1D years), and

70 Heart Kisses continued. (Solo career)

The amazing @womanexile and @this-daydream-is-dangerous-13 started this off with finding a good chunk of these. This is by no means a complete list, I think that would be impossible.

It’s also important to note that only Harry knows what this tattoo is about, why he kisses it or if that is for one person and who that may be. Below is a list of times he has kissed it with other events at that time. To me, many kisses appear to be about personal milestones.

2013

In the 2013 timeline Harry and Taylor started the year infamously with the blue dress on a boat. Taylor went to London after Harry's birthday, they seemed neither together nor properly single. 

12 March 2013 - Dublin - While Niall gave a speech referring to Ireland, his home, Harry kissed the heart. (1:07) Home is clearly special to Harry. Taylor had just sold her Hyannis Point House, in the EHC secret message, ‘August’ and ‘I Love You’.

21 April 2013 - Manchester before Back for You (1:20) this is before Harry went to LA during a break both he and Taylor had from tour, Harry started wearing the peace ring.

16 June 2013 -  Louisville - Harry was feeling himself during “Last First Kiss” and at the end was flirting with someone in the crowd, he mimicked pole dancing then he kissed his heart tattoo (4:04). A few days before, Taylor was in London and did an interview with Nick Grimshaw where he said Best Song Ever 4 times and we saw the Never Gonna Dance tattoo for the first time as he got off a party boat. To me this kiss was similar in meaning to the song Careless Whisper - a commitment to be faithful. This is close to the anniversary of Taylors 2011 Lover Journal entry days after Harry was MIA in the US when Taylor had the Temper Trap arm lyrics in St Paul. 

2 July 2013 - New Jersey - during “Change My Mind” (0:23) Harry had gotten the cross tattoo the day before and would be in the same city as Taylor soon.

6 July 2013 Hersey during One Way or Another (29 mins). Near Taylors first home while she was also in Pennsylvania and then not seen for 7 days. While Harry and Taylor were both in Pennsylvania, at the next show Harry threw up off stage.

7 July 2013 - Hersey - Last First Kiss, heart kiss at (0:17) (might be a nose wipe) after Niall gets a lyric wrong and other arm at (2:09)

2 August 2013 - Las Vegas - at the start of “Last First Kiss” (0:06). This was in the lead up to the VMAs which Harry and Taylor were texting each other and in the after party at. Taylor had a Lover Journal a week later where she describes the feeling in I Know Places.

13 October 2013 - Auckland - While watching Niall joke about being 'Niley Cyrus' before introducing Last First Kiss (0:17) and again after his chorus before Liam’s part (2:39).

17 October 2013 - Melbourne - after More Than This, (5:09) kissed the anatomical and black hearts. In the same show, Harry cried in Over Again and rushed off to vomit backstage. Taylor was seen with Alexander Skarsgard 3 days later. 

2014

At the start of the 2014 Timeline Harry was seen backstage at Red when Taylor cut her hair. On Valentines Day Taylor posted a Shirley Temple quote “There’s nothing like real love” and Harry got the Anatomical Heart Tattoo, which he interchangeably kisses with the first heart tattoo. After this they were seemingly together again, Style and Stockholm Syndrome were written soon after. They were seen at parties together and Harry also got the fern tattoo covering “might as well…”. 

8 May 2014 - Rio de Janeiro - in yellow shirt during “You and I” (1:21) on “Silence and sound / did they ever fight like us?” and again (2:38) “['I see what it's like for day and night / Never together,] Cause they see things in a different light like us” before the chorus, which he sang with his eyes closed, and again during Little Things (0:24) on ‘your hand fits in mine like it was meant to be’. The tour has only just started. Harry had been in the same city as Taylor since January. Harry kissed the heart on lyrics about being apart from his love and worrying about the relationship. 

26 May 2014 - London- Niall’s charity football match, after scoring the penalty shot Harry hugged Niall then kissed his heart tattoo (1:22) 1D, Ed, Lorde and Lily Allen had played Radio 1 Big Weekend before this and Ed wrote 18 this week. Taylor was MIA, she had been in NY then reappeared a week later in Shanghai.

1 June 2014 - Manchester - start of Story of My Life (0:12) Harry Kissed things I can. 

8 June 2014 - Wembley during ‘You and I’ (0:41) on “'Cause they see things in a different light like us” again. This was the last show before a week’s break, Harry wasn’t seen, Taylor had shows in Asia. 

17 June 2014 - Copenhagen - ‘You and I’  (1:22) 

30 August 2014 - Chicago - You and I (0:29) Last show before both Harry and Taylor are MIA. 

13 September 2014 - Rose Bowl Los Angeles, during You and I on “did they ever hold each other tight like us?” (1:21) Harry had chest pains later in this show. Harry and Taylor had the week before off and both went from London and LA, 2 days earlier the Rolling Stone article ‘things you learn hanging out with Taylor Swift’ included: “now I go in thinking, ‘How long do we have on the clock — before something comes along and puts a wrench in it, or your publicist calls and says this isn’t a good idea?'”

16 September 2014 - Phoenix- You and I - after “Silence and Sound, did they ever hold each other tight like us?” (1:22)

20 September 2014 - iHeartRadio festival - Las Vegas - on the  “Little Things” chorus (1:13). Harry looks like his mind is wandering, and trying to focus on the song. Harry and Taylor both played the iHeartRadio festival that weekend, Taylor played songs from Red, Love Story and Shake it Off.

23 September 2014: Tulsa - on “Better than Words” chorus (4:23) and in C’mon C’mon at (1:14)Harry was hurt earlier in the show but was seemingly in a good mood. Taylor was seen in NY this day, but had been MIA since the 19th when they were at the iHeart festival together. 

28 September 2014: Charlotte - during “Right now” (0:06, and nearly again 1:40) Charlotte a few days before Tampa. Taylor held 1989 secret sessions in Nashville this day and talked to sessions about Harry. On their 28 September Anniversary

3 October 2014: Tampa Florida during “Right Now” Between ‘lights go down’ and ‘lets go crazy’. (1:00 and 2:20). This was the second last show before both Harry and Taylor went to London, Taylor did a Riptide performance on BBC 1 5 days later with the lyric "I love you when you're singing that song / And I got a lump in my throat / 'Cause you're gonna sing the words wrong"

2015

Harry and Taylor dated throughout the rest of 2014. At the start of 2015 timeline Harry went to LA 3 weeks early to start writing for MITAM and saw Taylor. This post on the 6th seemed to mark a break up and so began Harry’s horrible year, he was seen with Kendall and models after that.

11 February 2015 - Brisbane - WDBHG - things I can - (10:31) and the right shoulder at the start of you and I (1:18:27)

15 February 2015 - Melbourne- (Valentine’s Day in US) during Night Changes (0:13) The Style Music Video was released the day before (13th in the US). On what would have been their 1 year anniversary Harry kissed the heart. 

20 February 2015 - Perth - ‘You and I’ (2:16) other shoulder kiss. During Happily in Perth Liam asked Harry "Are you OK?" (1:01), it was song 7 for 8 shows, then never played again. Harry posted a photo of a crosswalk B&W stripes caption 'chains around my feet'. His feet have 'never gonna dance again' tattooed on them, George Michael lyric about being faithful. 

24 February 2015 - Osaka - Night Changes  -Harry kissed the anchor tattoo (0:28) this was the last night happily was played ever, the show before Harry looked close to tears in Happily and Liam asked if he was ok. 

25 February 2015 - Osaka - Night Changes (1:48) (there’s a great crowd shushing before this). Taylor was pictured with Calvin Harris the night before. Happily was replaced by Stockholm Syndrome this show after a few shows where Harry looked upset. 

18 March 2015 Hong Kong - Night Changes an anchor kiss at the start (2:19) and heart kiss at (3:58) Before this, Harry walked so far back from the microphone Liam checked on him. This was the last show Zayn was at, this Reddit post gets into why the band probably expected him to finish that tour leg, they had a show with songs for his voice in 3 days. Taylor was in Nashville and Calvin was rumored to be seen with her at dinner. This may be a continuation of the Night Changes kisses. Tayvin then went public and the heart kisses become hard to find.

23 June 2015 - Sweden-  during You and I anatomical heart kiss in Sweden after Liam sings “did they ever fight like Dan” (guitarist) (1:14) Taylor and Harry were both doing European shows. Harry posted a colour picture to IG, that he missed you Sweden, kissed the heart in Sweden the day Taylor flew to Glasgow then Harry posted it felt great to be in Sweden. The next day, Taylor’s Clean speech included “I’ve never been so sure that it’s treacherous and difficult to be happy in 2015.”

26 September 2015 London O2 during “Don't Forget Where You Belong” (3:55) Taylor was in Nashville and gave a longer than usual Clean Speech,it was one of 2 to refer to loss “I was in London making this album […] I was dealing with kind of getting over the loss of a relationship, and everyone else’s kind of speculation on it, and everyone else weighing in on everything I was doing.”

28 September 2015 - London - You and I (1:29) anchored kiss on “a different life like us”. On their 28 September Anniversary. Same show Harry talked to a fan about their anniversary. Taylor also talked about heartbreak and time in her Clean Speech the same night. 

12 November 2015 - BBC Radio one lounge, during Torn. Before this, Harry was really struggling to get through "Story of My Life", he turned around twice, and ended the song on “the story of…”  (2:13) This was the last push of promo for 1D about MITAM. The next day Harry said “you think it’s so funny you sing it” instead of the Perfect bridge and 3 days after Harry was so quiet on Xtra Factor it was on the news.

My sister was the first to bring me in a big hug and then my manager and producer who were also such a big part of this album. I hugged everyone around me and at the table next to us was Harry sitting. I looked over and he was already on his feet clapping with a genuine smile on his face. I put my hands together and leaned forward a bit to express my gratitude.

Walking up the stairs will never get old or boring, it’s always a huge honor. Accepting the award I stepped up to the mic.

“Thank you so much for this. Ugh… It’s always an honor to get one of these but I think it’s even more special to me to be named beside my fellow nominees. I would’ve never thought that my name would be in the same conversation as ABBA. Absolutely insane to me,” I chuckled looking down at the award. “And everyone else in the category, you guys are incredible and the art that you all create is what this world needs and I’m just happy to be named beside you. I uhm… I wanna thank Romeo and Phil, my producers and Jenna, my manger. My family, of course, you guys are the best. But mostly my amazing fans, who relentlessly support and love me, and without you, I wouldn’t be standing here, so thank you.”

“Tonight we have a very special guest with us, multiple Grammy award winner singer, and songwriter, please welcome Y/n Fleur Depp,” said Jimmy Kimmel, and as the door opened I stepped out, waving to the crowd and making my way to the chair after sharing a hug with the host.

“Y/n, welcome to the show, how are you doing?” Asked Jimmy. “Thank you, happy to be here. I’m great, how are you?” I asked politely. “Great, thanks. Are you and Harry back together?” He replied so fast and my eyes just went wide as the whole crowd started cheering. “Oh no, we’re not. I’m absolutely single, believe me. I don’t need anything right now,” I chuckled uncomfortably. I admit I’ve been talking the most with Harry since we’ve broken up but there’s nothing between us and we both know there’ll be nothing. “Okay, just making sure. Did you enjoy his concert?” “Yes, definitely. He is an amazing performer so I wasn’t worried.” “You start your tour in two days and it’s gonna be a very long journey. You start in LA on February 22nd and the last date is in Soul, Korea on December 22nd. That’s a long tour.” “Yeah, it is. But it’s gonna be awesome. We’ve been preparing for a while now and I’m very excited to see everyone and sing the new songs,” I smiled giddily and the crowd cheered hearing my words. “How do you prepare for a tour like this? I mean obviously, you have the dance stuff and all but mentally and physically?” “Yeah, I prep for the show with all of the dancers 3 times a week for like… 3 months. But I work out every day also, even if it’s pilates or gym. Shows can be very hard on your body when you perform 5 times a week for two and a half hours, so I try my best to prepare for the year. And mentally I guess I just try to enjoy every quiet moment before going on the road. It’s very hard obviously being away from my friends and family but someone always comes to each show so that’s nice,” I explained. “And as I know, you bring your cat on tour with you.” “Oh absolutely. He’s my baby, I can’t leave him for that long.” “His name is Bucky, right?” “Yeah,” I smiled. “How did you get the name?” He asked. “Uhm… I really like the Marvel movies and Bucky is one of my favorite characters of all time so I thought why not? The Winter Soldier already seems like a black cat type of guy so I chose that.”

After the interview, I got back to the green room and I was a little angry not gonna lie. “I go to one of his shows with literally multiple people and have one drink with him at the fucking Grammys, and suddenly we are back together. How does that work? And besides, we broke up over 4 years ago,” I packed up my bag and grabbed my phone. “You know they always do this, don’t bother,” said Chloe, my assistant, as we made our way to the car. “I know they do, but fucking hell, I can’t be single for one goddamn minute.”

“Hello, it’s Y/n Fleur Depp and today I’m gonna let Elle ask me anything,” I smiled at the camera.

“What’s your favorite memory from doing your last album?” Asked the journalist.

“I’ve got to work Doja Cat on one of the songs and I think it was one of the greatest days of the album making. We just had such a fun time with that song and we were just vibing a lot. She has a really interesting character and it was refreshing to work with someone like her.”

“What are you most passionate about outside of singing?”

“Ooh, that’s a hard one… food? I don’t know, I just love to try new stuff and cook new stuff. It’s a fun thing to get into.”

“Biggest pinch me moment in your career?”

“Oh my god, on my last tour, I was in New York, performing at Madison Square Garden and it was like halfway into the show and I looked up to the… well VIP section I guess and Rihanna was there, dancing and singing along. I almost fainted.”

“What is the best industry advice you’ve received?”

“Enjoy every second of it. I think especially now with social media, there are so many opportunities for people to make it in the music industry. And now, someone can easily take your place overnight if their song is gonna be a trend on TikTok. So I enjoy every little moment.”

“Who’s your biggest cheerleader?”

“My sister Lily, for sure. She has always been my biggest supporter. Since we were little kids, she always made me sing her favorite songs. And even now, even if I have a show on the other side of the world she will fly out and dance and sing through the whole thing. She’s the best.”

“What’s your 5-year plan for your personal life?”

“Oh damn… Uhm… I just want to be in a secure and stable place. Definitely move out of Los Angeles, it’s been too long for me to live here. I want to live somewhere different and new and have new experiences. And uhm… be in a calm and loving relationship.”

“Come on people, night one,” I stood in a circle with all of my dancers. “I just want to say how proud I am of us and the work all of you put into this tour. I am extremely grateful for all of you because everybody in this crew is so amazing, dedicated, and talented. I want us to have fun. It’s gonna be a long road but we’re gonna shake up the world and do some incredible stuff. I love you all and let’s have some fun,” I said and we cheered before putting our hands in the middle. “Reflections on 3, 2, 1!” “REFLECTIONS!”

I stood on the lift and I got my mic handed to me. Then the intro for Ready for it began playing on a loop.

The podium rose and the crowd erupted in cheers and screams. “Los Angeles… Are you ready for it?” I said and seconds later the song started.

About an hour into the show, I was at the front of the runway part of the stage. Sitting on a chair with only a guitar and a mic stand.

“Before we dive into the next song I wanna thank all of you for coming,” I said and as soon as they started cheering I smiled widely. “The last few years were absolutely crazy. ” I looked around the stadium. “But now, we are finally at peace kind of and I think we should enjoy it. We worked so much on these shows because I think we all took doing concerts for granted and me and my crew want to give you the best. It’s so cool to be back on stage, in front of all of you. Uhm… I love you and thanks again,” I smiled and they all cheered which made me smile even more. I just love that they love me.

Doing another hour and a half was a little exhausting but I enjoyed every second of it. “Thank you so much, Los Angeles, I’ll see you tomorrow,” I blew kisses all around the stadium as the lift was moved down.

I walked behind the stage and as soon as I stepped into the hallway, I had champagne sprayed all over me as my friends and family screamed around me. “Oh shit,” I covered my face as the champagne was just coming. “Congratulations!” heard Lily’s voice before she hugged me as soon as the alcohol stopped flowing. “Thank you, it was so fucking cool,” I said. “Oh my god, it was!” She shook my shoulder and I hugged everyone who was around basically then made my way to the dressing room, changing to something that wasn’t covered in champagne.

Once I cleaned up, I checked a couple of messages on my phone when I heard a knock on the door. “Come in,” I said, still scrolling through my phone. “I brought some guests, sissy,” Lily spoke and I looked up immediately, not hearing a noise from the guests.

All of a sudden Blackpink was standing in front of me with shy smiles. I’ve met Jennie before and we clicked really well. She is a very funny and sweet person, but I haven’t met the other members yet. “Oh my god, hello,” I went to hug Jennie and she was quick to greet me too, before turning to her members. “It’s Jisoo, Rosé, and Lisa,” she pointed at each of them. “I know, I’m a fan, you know that. It’s so nice to finally meet you,” I said, honestly feeling happy to meet them. “We’re happy to see you, it was an amazing show by the way,” said Rosé with a noticeable Australian accent. I put my hands together and bowed my head. “That means a lot coming from you. We should hang out. Are you guys free for the next…” I looked down at my watch, checking the time. “…couple of hours?” I asked and they all looked at each other before nodding their heads. “What do you have in mind?” Asked Jennie. “We could have some drinks back at the hotel if you’d like. It’s a calm place,” I suggested. “Let’s do it.” Jisoo excitedly said and we all chuckled. “We’re gonna be great friends, Jisoo.”

“Dunno,” Harry says, trying his best to shrug with his hands still on your body. “You’re so cute. I love it.”

“So how about that date?”

“Surely you’re joking?” You responded to the man standing in front of you. I mean, you had an honest right to be a little incredulous at his intentions. You hadn’t even wanted to come to this party in the first place; your best friend had just gotten a fancy new industry job in LA and you knew none of the people here. She had said it was going to be a small get-together, and practically dragged you out of bed to accompany her. You’re pretty sure Kaia Gerber just walked past you a few minutes ago, and now for some godforsaken reason Harry Styles is standing in front of you, leaning against the bookshelf you were trying to camouflage your body with, asking you to go on a date with him.

“Are you drunk?” You continue, watching as Harry crosses his arms in front of his chest in amusement. “Did your friends put you up to this? Spicing up the night with a bit or truth or dare?”

“What, I can’t ask a cute girl out on a date without getting interrogated anymore?” Harry yells over the music. Some old Tame Impala remix comes on the house’s speaker system and a group of people bump into the two of you as they rush to the living room to dance. You look at Harry with a deadpan expression and cross your arms to match his stance. He’s infuriatingly tall, you realize as you tilt your head up to look him in the eyes, unimpressed.

Twenty seconds into your staring contest, Harry breaks the silence between you with a laugh. “For what it’s worth, I’m completely sober. I don’t drink when I’m touring. Not a fan of truth or dare either, at least not when I haven’t even had one drink yet. And I’d really love to grab dinner with you before my show on Saturday.”

The singer smiles at you as you consider his offer. You had to admit that he was attractive: you’d seen him enough times on magazine covers and your friends’ Instagram stories to understand that he was hot. And surprisingly sweet, with the way that he just tried to ask you out. You’re also fairly sure that your best friend would never let you live it down if you turned him down. Fuck it, you think, what do I have to lose?

You pull your phone out of your purse and hand it to Harry, with the screen opened on your Messages app. “Don’t give me your work number,” you joke, watching him type his digits into the top of the screen. Harry smiles at that, then sends himself a text using your phone. When his own device pings with a notification, he unlocks it and saves your contact.

Right then, a guy with bleached hair pulls on Harry’s arm and starts dragging him towards the living room. “You gotta come here, H, they’re getting them to play ABBA and we need your voice on the floor.”

Harry laughs as his friend continues to lead him further and further away from you, his feet shuffling against the hardwood floor as he hurries to catch up. Right before he turns the corner, he looks back at you, his hair slightly messed up and his eyes sparkling with excitement. 

“Thanks, love!” He yells over the crowd, giggling when his friend pulls on his arm harder. “See you Saturday!”

“Fuck, Jeff is going to kill me,” Harry says when the two of you finally make it to the train station. You’d lost track of time during your date and now he was fifteen minutes late to his own show. Since it was the evening, LA traffic was in full swing, and the metro was his only hope for making it to the venue on time to take the stage after his opener.

“You sure you can’t come with me?” He asked you, hurriedly trying to add a metro card to the wallet on his phone. The two of you watched as the screen loaded slowly.

“I want to, but I don’t really feel like seeing our faces on a gossip site tomorrow morning,” you said sheepishly, “and I was kind of looking forward to having a quiet night in.”

“No, you’re right,” Harry said, “but I have to say a night with me is much more preferable than your bed and ten episodes of a Netflix Original.”

“Shut up,” you laughed, shoving Harry in the chest. His t-shirt was soft and worn, which made sense since it clearly seemed to be a vintage tour shirt for a band you didn’t recognize.

Harry’s card finally loaded and he used it to get through the turnstile. You followed closely behind him, since the train you took to get home had a stop at the same station. You checked the transit app on your phone: the next one was coming two minutes after Harry’s train.

Harry stepped on the train as soon as it pulled up, the tracks leaving a gap between your bodies. His limbs were long enough that he could rest his hands on your shoulders as the train stalled. “Did you have fun on our date, or are you still convinced it was a prank?”

You raised an eyebrow at him, feeling a warm sense of comfort from his touch. You thought you saw a girl pull her phone out in the corner of your eye, her camera obviously directed towards the two of you. Harry notices this motion too, glancing at her briefly, then returning his attention to you. He doesn’t seem to care.

“You’re probably going to have to take me out on another one before I decide,” you flirt back. Harry’s eyes light up in challenge, and he looks down at you in amusement, the corner of his lips quirking up in a playful grin. He smells like clean laundry and lavender. Removing one hand from your shoulder, he squishes the tip of your nose.

“What was that for?” You asked. The conductor standing behind Harry stops looking around the station and tucks his head back in the window, signaling that the train was going to leave soon.

“Dunno,” Harry says, trying his best to shrug with his hands still on your body. “You’re so cute. I love it.”

You roll your eyes at him playfully and the train moves forward ever-so-slightly. Startled by the movement, Harry suddenly cups both sides of your face with his hands. He presses a kiss to your lips, and it’s so brief and gentle that you don’t register what just happened until after he pulls away.

You open your eyes and Harry is smiling at you from six feet away, his train pulling away from the station. Your hair whips around in the wind and he waves at you, one hand pressed to the glass window in the middle of the doors.

“See you soon,” he mouths, and you stand there dumbly until your train arrives, wondering what the hell just happened.

“Styles.” You said seriously, pinning your boyfriend down into the couch. The two of you were sitting in his green room, trying to pass the awkward amount of break time that he had between soundcheck and when he actually had to be ready and dressed for stage. “What did you just say?”

“Nothing,” Harry replied defensively. “You heard nothing.”

You pressed his arms deeper into the couch, kneeling on both sides of his body. The loose front strands of your hair dangled above him, and Harry tried to swat them away, blinking rapidly as they brushed against his face. You laughed and grabbed the hood of Harry’s sweatshirt out from under his body, then pulled it over his hair. You reached for his hoodie strings and tightened them, the fabric closing over Harry’s face so that only his nose and lips remained in view.

“Y/N,” Harry tried to reach for you, but he couldn’t see and had terrible accuracy. You tied the strings of his hoodie in a large bow, then leaned back and admired your work. You looked at your boyfriend as he tried to untie the knot, his hands fumbling around in the air as if he were a baby. Here you were, traveling the world with the boy you loved, (although he didn’t know that just yet.) It was strange how much your life had changed in six months, all because of a party you almost didn’t go to.

“Tell me what you said and I’ll let you go,” you said, flopping your body on top of Harry’s. You rested your chin on the top part of his chest so you could look up at him. He looked impossibly cute all wrapped up in his sweatshirt.

“IsaidIloveyou,” He mumbled.

“What?”

“I said,” Harry enunciated clearly, slowly dragging out the syllables. “I love you.”

You giggled, then pulled at the ends of one of the strings in order to untie the knot. You grabbed both sides of the hood, pulling at them lightly to loosen it. When Harry’s face finally appeared out from under the fabric, he grabbed at one of the decorative pillows on his side and threw it at you.

“You’re not gonna say it back?” He pouted at you, his hair now adorably messed up. You pulled the pillow he just threw at you into your lap and looked at your nails, making a show of ignoring him.

“Babeee,” Harry whined, pushing you up against the other side of the couch. You laughed again and threw an arm over his shoulder, twirling your fingers around the curls growing behind his ears.

“I love you too.”

Would there need to be “seeding” or “pre-warning” (I’m sorry I’m not sure how to phrase it) of anything relating to that stunt coming to an end? I might be missing the point entirely, but surely it coming out of the blue would be appropriate? the Aussie press are being very unpleasant- and there was me thinking that’s the job of the UK tabloids! I’d love your insight into this- thanks!

Heya!! Hmm… I think there would be, just to make it look less like a stunt? Ya know? And a lot of the GP have probably forgotten about it, they need to remind them and then give the shock headline. If they’d ended it with a paternity test a few months after the kid had been born, I think it could’ve come more out of the blue. But it’s been like 8 years, and we’re the only ones who really have kept up to date with it and believe it’s a stunt. So I mean, let’s have a go at writing some paternity test headlines and compare:

“Wrong Direction: Tomlinson, 32, posts shock announcement that he is in fact not the father of 8 year old son, F”

^ this would be a huge shock right???? Like… the gp would be questioning why the hell it’s taken this long, and why it’s all of a sudden been announced mid tour without any photos of him looking sad or annoyed or frustrated. I sure as hell would be DEVASTATED if that was me, ya know? I loved my “little lad” for 8 years, and all of a sudden, I’m actually not even a biological parent of him? I’d probably cancel my shows. I would be distraught.

However, if you had some pre warning, or seeding as it’s called, it might be a little easier to digest. Let’s have a look at a couple of headlines that could align over a number of weeks that gives Louis consistent PR, and align with the narrative.

“Testy Tomlinson: Louis Tomlinson, of former boy band One Direction, looks annoyed at fans as he lands in Sydney airport.” (Week 1)

“He’s No Harry Styles: Louis Tomlinson looks frustrated on stage, putting on a mediocre performance while he sits down and lets the fans sing for him, in a string of disappointing shows for Australian fans” (Week 3)

“Battle of the Band Member: Tomlinson, of former boy band One Direction, supposedly goes through custody battle of 8 year old child F, while B demands more money. Sources say the case has been going on for weeks, and Tomlinson will take a paternity test as per B’s request” (Week 6)

“Tomlinson in Trouble?: Louis Tomlinson partied hard last night, with leaked video of ex One Direction superstar under the influence of more than just alcohol” (Week 9)

“The Kid is Not My Son: Tomlinson, 32, makes shock announcement that F, 8, is in fact NOT his son. Sources say that ex-fling, B J, lied to the superstar around the time of conception, and used him for fame and fortune” (Week 12)

^ now, the above scenario doesn’t leave much room for Louis to come out, without leaking the stunts, unless he says he’s Bi or him and Harry have never been together prior, when the announcement that they are together happens. SO if they go down the track of not leaking any stunts as of right now, further seeding happens.

“Where Do Broken Hearts Go?: Louis Tomlinson, 32, leans on old friend and former bandmate Harry Styles, 30, after news breaks that he’s not the biological father of son F, as pair share a drink together in an LA club” (Week 15)

^ so this narrative actually shows Harry and Louis reuniting, and works well to move them forward as friends first. And after that, well there are multiple avenues they can take to come out, but the above is what fits the narrative the best, in my opinion. It also gets chatter about a reunion happening, linking the One D boys back together.

Also, the reason I’ve chosen those amount of weeks between articles, is because usually a successful ongoing PR stunt, or PR in general (I’ve worked on album launches etc, which are usually seeded and then hyped up at a typical 3 months before release), keeps his name in the headlines and has a story that people wanna know the ending to.

Also, the headlines are just examples and I never said I was any good at writing headlines hahahaha. Hope this helps with context on why I believe it’ll be a seeded and ongoing process!

¿Quién es Harry Styles?

Harry Edward Styles, conocido artísticamente como Harry Styles, es un cantante, compositor y actor británico, integrante de One Direction. Nació en Redditch, Worcestershire, Inglaterra, el 1 de febrero de 1994.

So it goes tells the story of the 2014 Victoria Secret After Party: ''All eyes were on Harry and Taylor when they turned up. [...] The drinks were flowing until 3am, when they snuck out of a rear exit five minutes apart to avoid being pictured together." In context of the 2015 timeline 1989 (I know places established they wanted their relationship to go private) and 1D’s Four (with Stockholm Syndrome) had just been released. They were photographed the after party:

So it goes has only been played live 8 times and not yet on the Eras tour. The last time it was played was in the last Rep show in Tokyo, (9:38) with 2 other rare songs for the Rep Tour: I Know Places and Wildest Dreams. Harry Styles was in Japan that month and wrote Little Freak before he left Tokyo.

Timeline

3 December 2014 - Harry and Taylor seen dancing till 3am at the VS After party, where they were described as having "all eyes on them."

14 February - Style music video released, Two Ghosts and If I could fly written.

24 February - Taylor meets Calvin Harris, if she already had lyrics about the muse 'doing a number' on her on the 3rd Calvin could not be the muse. Harry's Winding wheel post

11 march - Calvin breaks up with his girlfriend.

Taylor met Joe 15 months later.

Fun fact: Taylor's only lyrics "so it goes" are in Haylor songs, the very first night, So it goes, Style and You are in Love.

Live performances

So it goes has only been played live 9 times, ever. For a fan favorite love song this should further confirm it is an emotional song to Taylor at the time. She's also played it at particular times and paired it with particular songs:

June 22, 2018, Wembley. Where Harry lives. First time played was 2 months into the tour. Taylor also had Niall Horan as a guest in an NYC shirt. The same night Harry was very emotional, he sung Still the One in Madison Square Garden. Taylor later had that suit in the Me! video. It’s unclear why this date was so special, though it was 1 year and 2 days after his step-dad passed.

July 10, 2018, Landover, with State of Grace

July 14, 2018, Philadelphia, with Treacherous. Close to State of Grace/Temper Trap arm/tattoo anniversary.

July 22, 2018, New Jersey. End of Live on Tour.

July 28, 2018, Foxborough, news of Harry's break up with Camille broke 2 days later.

August 4, 2018, Toronto, with Come Back... Be Here (1 of 2 live performances of CBBH). Harry left LA for Italy and was seen driving a Maserati (was it a dead end street?)

September 1, 2018, Minneapolis

November 21, 2018, Last reputation show, played with Wildest Dreams. Harry had been in Tokyo and wrote Little Freak in the same period.

November 20, 2023, Eras tour, with Me! wore and made the Stadium green.

The first verse sets the scene, similar to the articles Harry and Taylor are the focus of many, drawn to each other and wanting to keep their connection secret.

In Hoax, Taylor has a similar lyric to magician "Your sleight of hand"

'Gold cage, hostage to my feelings' refers to being trapped by love. Similar to Stockholm Syndrome, which was released only 2 weeks before the VS party, Taylor is trapped in a gold/gilded cage (a luxurious prison) by love.

So it goes is a lyric in Style. In the chorus Taylor lets us know that when they are away from others they have great chemistry. She also refers to lipstick, referred to in many 1989 songs. Taylor is described as a 'bad/good girl often, she talks about it in Miss Americana and also in:

Style: And I got that good girl faith and a tight little skirt

Only Angel: That she's gonna be an angel, just you wait and see, When it turns out she's a devil in between the sheets

The afterparty was in Basement bar. The illusionist/magician references are enjoying knowing that she and her muse will leave together without others knowing. 'Make all grey days clear' tells us the muse is British.

[Bridge] You did a number on me But, honestly, baby, who's counting? I did a number on you But, honestly, baby, who's counting? You did a number on me But, honestly, baby, who's counting? Who's counting? (One, two, three)

The bridge tells us more about her relationship with her muse, they have a history, have hurt each other before and are wanting to move on. Though she says she is letting it go she is also keeping score. At this point the events of Red, 1989 and most of the one direction songs about TS had transpired between them.

In Grapejuice Harry starts the song with 1, 2, 3 and ends on 1 (I.e let’s start again) here Taylor also counts 1, 2, 3 after “you didn’t a number on me but honestly baby who’s counting”
