Back with some more Norwegian Regions! ✨

Molde football club had a match against German Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League last week. Norwegian football teams ending up in group play in Europa League is pretty big and many national newspapers will say that we need to band together as a nation and support the teams that make it. However, everyone hates Molde - especially people from Trøndelag.

So, when I, my German friend who is a fan of Leverkusen, and another friend of us drove to Molde to watch the game, we all rooted for Leverkusen. My friend was a little unsure whether if they should wear their Leverkusen shirt or not - meanwhile I clearly wore the colours of Rosenborg (Trøndelag's football team) and our friend wore Bodø/Glimt (Northern-Norway's best football team) colours and merch.

Shout-out to my friend who said: "this is the beginning of a bad joke; a german, a trønder, and a northerner walk into a Molde game, and all of them support the germans".

adaine has never been anything other than angry at her parents. every interaction she has with them, she is snarky and talks back and fights with them. she isn’t cowed, she refuses to back down, and she would never in any world consider being obedient.

which is why it’s interesting that aelwyn is so afraid of them. what stopped her from standing up for adaine during their childhood? fear! a cycle of fear, shame, and guilt that she was never brave enough to break through.

but of course it makes perfect sense. adaine was never anything more to her parents than a massive disappointment. she was never going to be what they wanted - by the time they realized she was maybe someone worth cultivating (the elven oracle - to them a useful political tool they could possess) adaine was years beyond wanting to please her parents.

aelwyn was raised to be the perfect elven poster child. she was molded into being a pawn in a much larger game between arianwen, kalina, and kalvaxus. she was nothing less than a perfectly obedient daughter - until sylvaire. until “adaine’s just- she’s just a baby”. and the second she showed the slightest hesitance, angwyn didn’t hesitate to try to kill her.

adaine didn’t know her parents enough to fear them, but she knew them too well to love them. aelwyn knew them enough to be afraid and too well not to love them. head in hands.

Stansas: Is this Sansa shade?

I think it's hilarious that Stansas got mad at me for (accurately) pointing out that they accuse Arya and Dany stans of being motivated by Sansa hate simply because...we get along and like both of them lol. The idea of them getting along is about their characters and has nothing to do with Sansa. Just because they pit Dany and Arya against each other for Sansa's sake doesn't mean we're motivated by the same thing. Are there some conversations that bring up Sansa + Arya's strained relationship? Absolutely, that isn't baseless in the books considering they're written as foils and George has already said they have issues they need to work out. The "Stark sisters 4ever" fantasy they have is just that, and it's funny we never see this same energy for Arya being turned into a prop for her sister 🤔. Sisterhood didn't stop Sansa from siding with Joffrey, telling Cersei that Arya was a traitor (even though she had no idea where Arya was), or calling Arya unsatisfactory when she thought that she was dead so why are we supposed to pretend it's an all-important factor when discussing Arya's potential relationships with other characters?

I love college life! I love living in a dorm and sharing a residential space with other students, really getting the community that comes with living and interacting with other college kids on the daily. After catching up with the Dungeon Meshi anime on Netflix I was very eager to get into representation discussion until I realized that it basically goes like this:

Op: dungeon meshi does something amazing with its main character laios being a real fuckin freak. Like he's totally nuts and people love him. Also he's on the autism spectrum and it's addressed in-universe and senshi is a physically strong and masculine-looking character who takes on a very maternal role and acts very patient and caring and chilchuck is a walking stereotype breaker with his tiny body and big baby eyes and mature backstory and marcille is a female character who--

Op: marcille is a female character who doesn't get sexualized!!! Amazing! Groundbreaking!

Forreal though like. I relate to Marcille and I think she really provides some representation for people struggling with an anxiety disorder, low self esteem and imposter syndrome. There's more to her than just being a normal female character whose boobs don't bounce in-frame every second shot. Anyway.
