Lokius really pulled a petrigrof huh
ngl i'm more of a casual mcu observer but after watching the Loki series...man
just wow/pos
as someone dealing with abandonment issues and crippling loneliness...haha that ending is NOT helping/hj
don't get me wrong it's a compelling and satisfying conclusion for Loki's character arc from a writing standpoint
but also he's alone now protecting the multiverse with his own hands. To give them a chance. To protect them. The people he cares about the most. He just wanted his friends back and now he's burdened with glorious purpose for eternity.
and Mobius is what just waiting for him for eternity??
It's a beautiful, heart-wrenching tragedy 😭

oh, i think the reason i got So into serirei recently is that they push the same buttons in my brain that brotzly does. yeah, gimme a liar with a heart of gold who deeply hates himself but goes out of his way to help people around him, both strangers and those he cares about, and whose relationship with his boyfriend started out as help in a tough situation and grew into working together in an agency focusing on solving paranormal cases; and the boyfriend — a weirdo with supernatural powers who's socially awkward because he had years of his life stolen from him because of them, and who's traumatized by a nefarious organization that wanted to harness that power, who tries his best to build connections and be kind to people, and who's ultimately, unconditionally, unwaveringly in love with the liar-with-the-heart-of-gold, even in the face of having seen him at his absolute worst and lowest. and also they're both 30yo losers.
ywah, it all comes back to brotzly, it always does.

Just finished Hild by Nicola Griffith and while it’s a good book, I cannot figure out why this is labeled as fantasy.
There’s no supernatural anything (it is very explicit in saying she has no visions from any gods), the setting does already exist and the story itself is based on historical events. This is historical fiction.
I know that some books ride the line between genres but this is explicitly historical fiction, there is no other way to shelve this. Medieval setting and political mechanisms does not a fantasy book make.
And unfortunately I read this specifically for the women in fantasy/sci fi book club so I very much expected fantasy. It’s a shame because would’ve enjoyed this book more without those expectations.
