Dating Zach Dempsey Would Include:

Going to all of his games and cheering him on.

Sneaky kisses on the lips and cheeks in the hallway.

Zach introducing you to Alex and Justin. You becoming friends with them and Jessica.

THE TAPES.  learning about them should have brought some ease to her erratic thoughts,  but all it had given her was more questions,  more worries,  and more hurt.   part of her wanted to drown in the delight of knowledge that she had not driven them all away.   their distance  -  while admittedly painful  -  hadn’t been her fault.  the larger part of her was furious,   burning anger bubbling in her stomach as she realized the secrets they kept were far more dangerous than the distance they had kept her at.   there was also a sickening twist of disappointment and distrust.   they were her friends  and one her older brother.   they were supposed to be there for each other,   but they had left her ALONE.   they tossed her to the side because of their own selfish desire to protect themselves.   ( but wasn’t she selfish?   to be so mad that they hadn’t told her.   that they hadn’t trusted her to keep their secret.   that they had left her by herself when she had always known they were zach’s friends;   not hers. )   

SHE TRIED.   she wanted to hate them  -  even her older brother that she thought the world of  -  but she couldn’t. being upset for keeping their dark secrets would have been hypocritical.   she had secrets of her own,   didn’t she? things zach didn’t even know about  -  things she didn’t want him to ever know about.  disappointment still evident, may dempsey is no quitter.   she is there for the ones she loves  and  she loves all of them even if they weren’t honest with her  -  even if they had unconsciously made her feel overwhelmed by loneliness.  the only thing she can do is be there for them as everything they had tried so hard to keep together unraveled before their very eyes.

• He had tried everything.. Accidently making thembump together in the halls, leaving them alone together at every opportunitypossible and even point blank trying to make them hook up.

• All he wanted was to see them both happy and heknew they could do that for each other.

• So when Justin walked into Zack’s basement oneevening and plonked himself directly onto Alex’s lap (who was busy playing onthe PlayStation) and started peppering the boy with kisses as a distraction, henearly dropped to the ground in shock.

• “So, ummm, when was this a thing?” Zackquestioned. He tried to act nonchalant by grabbing a coke from the table topand being very interested in opening it up.

• “What thing? There is no thing,” Justin replied.

• “Uhhh, the blatant thing that just went on rightbefore my very eyes when you sat yourself down pretty much on Alex’s lap…”

• Justin had since slipped off Alex’ lap and wassitting very close next to him. He lifted his hand a placed it down on Alexthigh and rubbed it along slowly. “I have no idea what you’re talking about. Doyou, Alex?”

• “Nah, babe. No idea.”

• Zach wasn’t stupid, he knew they were kiddinghim. He just didn’t want to say the words outload in case they were pulling hisleg. But they would just make the cutest couple!

• They stayed quiet for a couple more minutes withjust the sounds of Crash Bandicoot coming from the television. It wasn’t untilAlex finally got blown up for a third time that he finally put down thecontroller.

• “You’re ridiculous, you know, Zach,” he said. “Whythe fuck would Justin sit on my lap and kiss me if we weren’t in arelationship?”

• It wasn’t until he watched Alex’s pretty fingersslot in with Justin’s that Alex’s words finally registered in Zach’s head.

• He shot up from his position on the arm of thechair, a huge grin upon his face.

• “Yes!” he shouted. “Yes! Yes! Yes! I knew it! Sotell me what did it, what made you decide?”

Ok but Alex Standall...

• Would most definitely be the one to sit in the front of someones car and turn the music up to as loud as anyone could stand it. It would most likely be Zachs car as from listening to the tapes he mainly trusts him the most.

• “Ugh, this is such a good song!” He would scream and his hand would instantly dart to the dial to turn the radio up.

• And he would sing. At the top of his lungs and roll down the windows and scream the lyrics to passers by on the pavement.

• Zach never tried to shut him up because to see Alex look so free and energised was amazing! Instead he would roll down the other windows and pop open the sun roof to allow the air to blast through the car.

• And when Alex could sing no more he would stick his arm as far out of the window as possible and let the wind buffet into his hand and savour those last few moments after the song ended when he wasn’t weighed down with guilt and grief.

Jeff Atkins loves the Carnival

• Not just one point about it, he loves everything about the Carnival.. • The music, the people, the food, the lights, the atmosphere. You name it and he loves it. • So when the carnival comes to town Jeff cannot contain himself he is too excited!! • The whole day at work he plans on what rides he is going to go on, how much money he was going to take, who he was going to ask to go with him. • Finally he finishes his shift and he almost forgets his car keys as he bolts for the doors. He was picking Clay up at 7, Hannah up at 10 past, Alex up at quater past and then finally meeting Justin, Zach and Jessica at the Carnival at 7:30. • He knocked on Clay's door two minutes early and waited excitedly for a response. "Hello, Mr Jensen. I was just waiting for Clay, if he is ready?" Jeff asked as Clay's dad opened the front door. • "He shouldn't be too long, would you like to come in?" • Politely, Jeff declined. He wouldn't wanna track mud into their hallway from his dirty chuck taylor converse. • Hannah didn't take as long and was ready and waiting for them when Jeff pulled up at the kerb outside her house. "Shift into the back, Clay," he hissed quickly. "It's only polite. Let her sit in the front." • Hannah was in the front and Aex hopped in the back seat next to Clay. Then the four drove to the Carnival. • Justin, Zack and Jessica were waiting for them in the parking lot when they pulled in. They paid their money to the ticket guy and we're finally let into the rides. • The music blaring from the Cups and Saucers clashed horrendously with the music coming from the Ferris wheel and the various combinations of smells from the food stalls were enough to make you feel sick but Jeff took every aspect in. • Jessica lead Justin to the helter skelter and Zach moved away to the Ice Cream stall with Alex in towe. • "Come on, wanna go in the fun house?" Hannah suggested and they scurried off as fast as they could to join the queue. • The night was amazing, Jeff took too many snaps on his polaroid camera but his friends were all beautiful and full of life, moments like these needed to be captured. With the lights and the shapes and the smiles. • The Carnival made the people he loved happy, so Jeff loved the carnival.
