ngl i think everything about the closet scene in CL gets way worse when you realize that donnie did, genuinely, 100% believe that they had left him in there to die. he didn't think it was just a punishment, or that he'd be let out eventually, he thought he was going to die in there. he considered it an attempt on his life.

really beyond the trauma of isolation itself i think its why it was such a breaking point for him. this was before they'd hit him, when their behavior was just neglect and bullying. he'd never had a reason to think he should fear for his life around them.

when they changed the lock on the door he thought they were going to do it again, and he thought that this time they were never going to let him out. he took it as a death threat, and it's why he completely shut down afterwards

the more i re watch/re listen the legacy + resolve + silver bullet combo (im so normal i promise) the more i see how fucking CRAFTED everything about nero's ost was, including devil trigger. like devil trigger and that combo can only exist and be as epic as they are because of the context that surrounds them. devil trigger can only exist after the dead weight scene, legacy can only exist after the talk with kyrie, resolve + silver bullet can only exist in that fight with vergil (before and after dt, because they symbolize nero's life as it was before and as it is now, how far has he come and all that beautiful context and growth) and silver bullet HAD to be a remix of devil trigger to pretty much show the growth nero has had throughout the game: same rage, new focus, same spirit, more confidence.

what makes minedai even sadder is that we never rlly see daigo try to build a bond with anyone else like he did with mine it rlly shows how badly it effected him like yeah he reached out to shinada in y5 but that’s rlly it and he probably would wanna leave him alone after that and not involve him in any yakuza stuff so i don’t think they would’ve hung out or anything like that afterwards. All he rlly had were saejima and majima but they were more like babysitters than anything, wish we saw more of their dynamic tho like we did with majima and daigo in dead souls since that was fun and we were lowkey robbed but in canon he’s just as lonely as he was before majimas promise to kiryu. And mine is the only person he really had a meaningful relationship with romantic or not they were still really close and we don’t see that again with daigo ever (from what i recall after y3) ok sorry for rambling LMFAO

even with shinada, he reached out to him more so out of 'duty' and trying to make up for the misfortune that befell him because of yakuza than wanting to rekindle any kind of friendship they might have had in high school (though it sounds more like they were just acquaintances if shinada needing a second to remember who daigo was is anything), so yah i doubt they really had any kind of bond afterwards

dead souls really was the only time after Y3 where we got to see daigo be more sociable with someone, but its as you say majima and saejima are more like retainers than close friends

You've mentioned that rarely Swanatello's family is unable to come visit him. What would make it so that they couldn't?

Overall, they're very on top of coming to see Swannie and making sure someone is with him at just about all times, but there have been one or two occasions when things have popped up-- and even then, it's not that the family didn't come to visit him for the day, but rather that they were delayed. Think things along the lines of "X villain is doing something completely fucking batshit and we need all hands on deck to make sure no one dies and get things under control before we can go visit" and/or just simple miscommunication about what the plan is. It should also be noted that they are currently almost entirely reliant on Leo to portal them over to the Lake. If Leo is incapacitated or occupied for whatever reason and can't portal them over... then they can't visit.

i know this has been said 473773474833 times by the kavetham/haikaveh shippers and probably even nonshippers, but i'll say it again. I finally finished the genshin summer event and did the little after quest in sumeru and.....every time kaveh is sneaking around trying not to be noticed coming out of alhaithams house it's just such a gay vibe. he's basically screaming "I can't be caught being gay in a homophobic society!" even if that's not what the game writers are *actually* saying. that's just how it comes off and they can't make it come off any other way. with hoyo's gay history, it makes me wonder if it's on purpose and all a cover-up to have a technically different reason for it so they can get away with it lmao but we will never know.
