this might be an odd choice of character (idk how many people pay attention to him) but i absolutely adore grant's uncle paddy and think he's a king, so have some info about him 👑

i briefly mentioned this in a story post but he did NOT finish high school 👀 he dropped out for [REDACTED STORY REASONS], despite being a straight A student. he went straight into the workforce instead and he did construction work for a really long time. he switched jobs when aoife and joseph opened the bakery, though, and now he's worked there for a long time and it makes him very happy. Finally read Mystic Christmas and.... wow, that sure is a lot of narrative foils going on... Tomte for MC, Ded for Mononobe, the unfair naughty/nice dichotomy for the Game/loops, the imposition of Eden's belief system for the superimpositions of the Exiles......

Heck, you can even make the argument that Tomte's struggle to repress his naughty side parallels the fact that MC is never given the opportunity to actually voice their grievances.
