Okay I've been thinking a little too much about Chappell Roan songs so here's a little angst AU based on the song Casual:

In middle school Kenneth died, giving Travis a few years of freedom to unpack his internalized homophobia.

By the end of HS Travis and Larry start to have a situationship, but Travis likes to think that it's more than that and that they'll be oficially together very soon because everything they do is so romantic, except he's always being kept as a secret.

And a few months afterwards they call it off 'cause Travis realises they'll never be more than that.

(Reason: Larry didn't have the courage to date someone that hurt his friends and brother so much in the past. Now, they obviously wouldn’t be buddy buddy w/ Travis immediately - except for Sal, he would immediately be best friends w/ him - but at this point they all know that he was just a very stuck up gay guy w/ an abusive pastor as a father, so they don't really hate him, especially since he hadn't really interacted w/ them since middle school).

Well, a few years later they move to a new city and guess who's there?? Travis. He's in college and works as a server.

Old feelings resurface and they're both pinning for each other but Travis is too hurt and bitter to give it a chance, Larry is very sorry and doing his best to woo him once again while being super jealous of Travis w/ his male friends who are very touchy (they want to see Larry sufer lol).

Anyways, because I love a good hurt/comfort they obviously would have a happy ending.

I'll never write this but maybe I'll draw something about it later.

“Stop moving.”

“I’m not.”

Charles twirls the scissors between two fingers, hoping that his posture is authoritative enough that Max will quit squirming in his chair. They are in the middle of lockdown and neither is sure when their tentative friendship turned into this – at first it was innocuous knocks on the door to play FIFA, then it was to borrow a jar of pesto here and there. Then, trampling into each other’s apartments. Max knowing to wipe his shoes on the carpet, Charles helping pick up cat food on his regular run to the grocery store (in line with lockdown mandates, they’re only allowed to go to the store twice a week.)

And now they are here. Max sitting on a dining room chair, leaning back, a makeshift cowl around his shoulders that Charles had stolen from his maman’s salon. Max tries not to twitch or move, knowing that the process of hair cutting is a delicate process. Sure, he has sat for a haircut many times before, but never under the hands of this erratic ball of energy that is Charles Leclerc, who is currently brandishing a blade like a child would a spork.

“Do you trust me, or not?” Charles says. Indignant.

“I’m here, am I not?”

“Unhappily, it seems.”

“Kerel. You have wavy hair. You look like a Disney prince. Me? One wrong move of the scissors and there will be memes in my name.”

“But it’s kind of fun when they are making the memes about you. No?”

Max glowers. “It is when they’re nice ones.”

Charles makes a noise between a snort and a guffaw. Charles perched on a stool behind him, so he can’t see the other man’s expression. But when Max looks to the corner of his living room, Max can see Charles’s face in the reflection there. Just a sliver of his face, in profile. Max expects to find Charles’s eyes crinkled, maybe teasing. Max is used to it, after all. Being the an easy target, a convenient villain. Because a lion never roars back. Not outside of the track, anyway. Even if he sometimes hides in his apartment with his cats and licks his wounds instead.

Max’s shoulders tense, hackles up. But Charles’s eyes are very soft. The punchline never comes.

“Well. I think you very handsome, Maximilian.” Charles says.

Oh. Max’s throat bobs. He doesn’t really know what to say. He’s been called many things in the past. Handsome isn’t necessarily one of them. And somehow it has a greater weight, a different bearing, when it comes from Charles. Because Charles is someone he’s begun to acknowledge that he cares about, perhaps a great deal.

“And now! We are doing the short at the sides and long at the top, oui?” Charles says. Snapping straighter in his makeshift hairdresser’s stool, energy whipping through him like lightning. Changing the topic as if he hadn’t just confessed to Max the very same thing that Max has been thinking about Charles for weeks – or if he’s honest – years, now.

“Whatever you do, make sure it’s tidy, yeah?”

“Come on mate. I am always careful.”

“Like you were when you drove into the Copse wall.”

“That was an isolated incident. Due to a combination of unexpected mechanical factors.”

“Pfft. Okay. Save that response for Sky.”

“You’re nearly as annoying as them, sometimes.” Charles says, frown gentle before he lifts the scissors again. 

Comfortably back in their banter-y element, the chatter continues. Charles is careful about his work, the blades moving slowly and carefully. And what Charles lacks in finesse he makes up for in social skills, clearly inheriting this from his parents. Talking and filling the silence comfortably, wandering from topics as diverse as sailing on the Monaco coastline, to David Guetta’s recent bizarre fundraiser video, to the latest model of automatic cat feeder that has become available on the market. Charles’s fingers brush his jaw occasionally to adjust the angle, scissors glinting in the afternoon sun. Max deliberately avoids eye contact, only glimpsing at him occasionally to share a laugh. 

At the end, Charles uses a towel to brush the loose hair off Max’s neck. They both get up to stand at Max’s living room mirror, surveying Charles’s handiwork. Their reflections loom large, shoulder to shoulder at the same height. Besides, Max isn’t really looking at himself, and neither is Charles, either.

“It’s good, yes?” Charles says. Low, conspiratorial.

Max’s grip tightens on the towel that he’s holding. His pulse etches up. The whole afternoon has been gentle touch, contact that aches because the pandemic has made him even more pathetically wanting than usual. Contact that he’s been trying very hard not to think about or keep for more nefarious purposes later. 

The other man's gaze is warm in the mirror. Max thinks of fresh cut grass at Imola, his favourite corner in Silverstone.

“Yes.” Max says. It’s good. The haircut, him, them. This strange rhythm they’ve found together. The quiet space of each other’s apartment, each other’s company, temporarily safe from the world. The trust offered to one another: enough to let them run you into gravel and trust that it was worth the fight. Enough to hold a blade in your hand and only let one other person in the world come near you with it. Risk, and promise.

Then he’s turning towards Charles. Charles mirroring him. The light is bright and the sky blue in the window, but all Max can see for a moment is Charles’s face, his half open mouth ripe like a plum. The scent, this close, of Charles’s carrefour laundry softener and woody aftershave.

And they’re leaning towards each other, a boundary they might finally cross, let the cards fall where they fucking may, when—

A yowl. A screech. A mighty crash. 

“Sassy!” Max says, practically jumping out of his skin.

Both men whip around at the source of the noise. Sassy’s frozen on a shelf, a beige mass with yellow eyes. Paw half up, looking guilty – if a cat could look guilty– at a trophy that he has just knocked off a counter. Jimmy, on the other hand, is absolutely nowhere to be seen, already having escaped the scene of the crime.

Max groans into his hands. But then Charles is laughing, an asthmatic penguin noise that Max has really come to like. It melts the fire in Max a little, amusement tempering his frustration. (The trophy is not the source of Max’s current frustration, but Charles does not need to know that.) 

“I shall get the broom.” Charles says.

“Thanks.”

So the moment passes. They clean up. On their hands and knees, near, but not touching. The broken trophy is the one he got for his overtake on Nasr in his first year in F1, and offers a chance for them to reminisce about their races. For Max to joke a little about whether Charles will get his first WDC when the pandemic is over, both of them excited about the future, a future with both of them in it, still trying, still racing each other to the brink. It’s much easier to do this, than to talk about the almost-kiss, or break the seal on this moment that they know won’t last forever.

Debris cleared, and the cats shooed into the study, Charles mentions that he should go return his equipment to his mother. They stand at the doorway for a moment that stretches too long.

Max doesn’t know how long they have. Of this, of each other. Of being left alone, of the world not encroaching with cameras or demands for explanations or labels for what they are. Of getting to know each other not as competitors, but on their own terms, in their own time.

But for a long time, Max will always remember this moment. The two of them, a dining chair. His crazy cats, Charles’s toothy smile. Their partial reflections in the mirror, an afternoon unfolding with potential.

A warm hand on his back to let him know he’s cared for, and looked after.

It hurt to open your eyes, so here you are in this dark environment; more specifically a cold floor. There's a blindfold over your eyes, not that it matters because once again it hurts to open your eyes.

The smell of mold is so powerful that it's the only thing you take note of. Where the fuck are you? You aren't even sure how long you've been— where ever this is.

Creak, thump, thump, thump. That tiny voice was telling you to pick your head up because someone is coming, the louder voice was reminding you that you answer to no one so you will not pick your head up.

The blindfold was removed and you let out a groan. The light hitting your eyelids already feels bad enough, opening your eyes is going to be a pain in the ass.

"Open your eyes." A soft spoken voice commands. You do so out of curiosity, and boy, are your findings humorous.

"I refuse to believe I was kidnapped by a thin, blond, boy such as yourself." You attack him with your words. Those baby blues widen, the blond smiles maliciously.

"I didn't kidnap you, my friend did. I'm just here to get answers from you." The blond runs his hand through his short hair.

"So you're supposed to torture me? How cute." He only has shown enthusiasm to your behavior, which pissed you off a little.

"Precisely, I may not seem all that scary but I know how to get answers from people." He say intimidatingly.

You say nothing in return because you don't believe him at all.

"F/n, L/n, is it? That little sister of yours is very pretty. Wonder what would happen if I sent some guys-"

"My sister is more than capable of kicking ass, she learned from the best." You imply yourself as the best.

You're twenty-three while your sister is twenty. She's learned self defense and offense attacks in case of an emergency.

"Interesting, most people crack when a family member's life is at stake." He grins.

You are a little bit worried, but you know your sister better than anyone. She can handle anything thrown at her.

Armin, you learn, keeps asking questions, trying to get information out of you.

"You might want to just tell me because my buddy Connie isn't as nice as I am." He threatens.

"Let's hope he doesn't hit like a sissy." You respond.

Armin laughs like he's crazy. Then once again asked, "why have you been stealing our shipments and sabotaging our missions?" His voice no longer held any softness it had earlier.

"Like I said the last time, because I wanted to." A smirk creeped onto your face. Armin was getting impatient with you and your annoying back and forth with him.

He clicks the little earpiece and starts talking, "should I send in Connie or Mikasa? She's refusing to cooperate."

He was silent while the person on the other end spoke.

"Oh... alright I'll wait for you to arrive." Armin smirks at you an evil look in his eyes.

"You've done it now, have fun speaking to him." Armin crosses his arms and begins to whistle.

Excitement flows throughout your body, who are you going to encounter next?

Within a few minutes a man with long brown hair, emerald green eyes, and a well fitted suit walks in with a woman who has short black hair and a red scarf, the other man has a growing buzz cut and a nasty scowl on his face.

"It still surprises me that one woman has been able to cause so much chaos in my group." His velvet voice shook your soul.

"Never underestimate a woman, Eren." The black haired girl speaks, she has the voice of an angel.

"You can go Armin, thanks for the help." The brunnette dismisses him.

"Of course, if you need anything I'm in the main building." Armin smiled at you as he walked out, it was more of a childish 'you're in trouble now' kind of smile.

"Do I look familiar to you?" Eren asks.

You knew an Eren when you were a young girl, that was a long time ago. This man doesn't look the Eren you knew.

"No, am I supposed to recognize you?" Eren looks at your chained arms and he chuckles.

"You should recognize me, does 'Eren's famous mud pies' ring any bells?" He asks folding his big bulky arms.

"I didn't want to believe it was you." Is all you say sighing.

"What was your reasoning, if you didn't know I was the head of this group?" When Eren had found out his childhood crush was antagonizing him, he thought that you were trying to get his attention.

"Your father." Eren's eyes widened.

"My father?" He asks.

"Yeah, at first I thought he just didn't like my family. Recently though, from the test results it turns out he killed my father and once attempted to murder me in my sleep. I was only returning the favor. Seems the old geezer retired and put you in his place to save his ass." Before Eren could respond Connie spoke up.

"How do we know she isn't lying?" He asks.

"That would be a very sick thing to lie about." Mikasa counters.

"So Dad wasn't lying about that..." Eren whispers more to himself than to anyone in particular. You hear it anyway and your eyes squint.

"You knew?" Betrayal starts to seep through your body, even if you haven't seen Eren in a long time he was still somebody you used to trust your life with.

"Well yeah, but when he confessed it sounded too ridiculous to be true but now that I know it's true, I'm angry. I can't believe he tried to fucking kill you." The look on his face is lethal. You understand his anger but it makes you upset that he's more concerned about you than the fact that Grisha killed your father.

"It doesn't matter to you that he killed my dad?" Venom is laced in your voice, Eren's emerald eyes flicker your way and they soften for a moment.

"That's not what I meant. Of course I'm mad he killed your father. I'm... I just- I'm pissed he tried to kill the girl he knows I love! Even if that bastard is my father, he's going to pay." Eren blurts his love confession to you and everyone else is shocked, including you.

"Love? Eren what the actually fuck? Why didn't we know about this?! I thought we were like family!" Connie shouts he sounds more betrayed than angry.

"Yeah Eren, what the hell? Saying you love me won't bring my dad back." You're smug now, it hurts thinking about him but you won't cry, especially not in front of the son of the man who killed him. That would only make his death more pitiful.

"You can't seriously be implying you don't feel the same way." Eren's voice holds none of that comfort from earlier.

"Eren, don't do this. Not everything will go your way." Mikasa reminds him calmly.

"I wasn't fucking talking to you Mikasa! Answer the damn question!" He screams at you.

It seems he's the same as he's always been, your little maniac.

"Eren you are so pathetic, why obsess over someone like me?" His hands ball up into fists and it looks like he might bust a vein.

"Quit stalling, you can't tell me you don't love me after all those years we spent together." Connie grips his shoulder, but it does nothing to ground Eren because he's lunging at you in rage.

"No Eren, I don't love you. How could I? You and your asshole father can rot in hell." You're lying straight to his face, you want nothing more than to kiss him right now. It's not possible, maybe in another life where your father is still breathing.

Mikasa and Connie use all their strength to pull him back. You watch as they escort the love of your life out of the basement. He's screaming and cursing at you. The only thing you seem to tune into is, "This isn't over! I know you love me! You can't punish me for something I didn't do! I still love you." The last part was spoken quietly.

Your heart was beating loudly in your chest from everything going on. When he's out of sight, you mouth, "I love you too."

favourite thing about them

His whole character and character arc, honestly, particularly how he slowly becomes disillusioned over the course of the series and qualities that were there in the beginning like his latent suicidality and disregard for his body become more and more extreme the longer he works as a sorcerer. But if we're talking about something specific, I like how at first glance he seems like the typical happy-go-lucky shonen protagonist, but how this is often an act or a way to distract himself from pain. In reality he's quite the loner and tends to isolate himself from people. He'll easily make friends with other or get along with strangers, but he rarely lets people in and see his vulnerable side or opens up about his problems to them.

least favourite thing about them

Nothing really. Although I don't like how distanced he is from the whole Kenjaku being his mother thing. It makes sense for him to act this way, it's a defence mechanism and he's like this with all his extended family, but I wish he was challenged on this more. Or at all.

Mostly Nobara, but I've also been really enjoying seeing him fight next to Maki and I like how their skills compliment each other. They're the only one besides Angel who can seriously hurt Sukuna. I also really like his relationship with Higuruma, the guilt they are struggling with and how they are both supporting each other in their death wish, despite not actually wanting the other to die. Although I don't know if I'd call that a "brOTP".

Once again, I don't really ship Yuuji with anyone, much less have a ship I'm really invested in (in contrast to you haha). I like him and Junpei when their taste in horror and being kind of outsiders is highlighted and I also like him and Todo in the sense of "bros who sometimes give each other a handjob to let off steam".

Not really a hc, but I think he started joining sociable clubs and trying to find friends in highschool because he knew his grandpa would die soon and he realized he needed people around him when that happens.

unpopular opinion

He's not a soft, whiny sunshine boy. He's nice, he loves his friends, he believes that almost everyone deserves being saved, but people sometimes tend to really infantilize him, especially in fanfics, so that he's barely recognizable. He already had a death stare in middle school and was notorious for beating up people/bullies. He's not gonna break down and cry because someone is being mean to him.

Hirasawa Susumu - Royal Road Paradise. It's about a king overlooking his fallen country and wondering why the people around him are burning and suffering. He can't remember anymore what started all this. Especially after the recent chapter it seems very fitting and captures for me the spirit of jjk as a whole.

Boy...where to begin. I love that they are a mad scientist, but they don't take themselves too seriously and don't fall into the common trap of being unaware of their own weaknesses. I like that they are at the core actually pretty chill. It's why they were able to stay unnoticed for such a long time (besides the body-hopping of course). Like they don't stand out like someone like Sukuna, Mahito or even Uraume if they don't want to because they just don't make that kind of ruckus. That leads to them being often overlooked or not taken as seriously, even by the protagonists. They also have pretty normal hobbies if we ignore the whole cursed energy manipualtion, merging of people etc. That's what's so great about it. They'll do the most abhorrent shit, but also do such basic things as watching stand-up comedy or reading manga. They have a fucking favourite comedian! And are apparently deep in the manzai lore. It's so ridiculous, I love it. Kenjaku is what keeps this series fresh and unpredictable, they sow chaos wherever they go. Miss them.

least favourite thing about them

Died too early and more importantly didn't get to meet Yuuji again. Don't think there's anything else I don't like...maybe that they died in Geto's body. I would've liked to see them change bodies at least once. Otherwise what's the point of having a bodysnatcher character if they're 99% of the time in the same body (in the story, obviously Kenjaku has swapped bodies many times before, but we barely see any of it).

Uraume. I just love their dynamic so much. They manage to bring the most annoying side out of Kenjaku and Kenjaku is a master at making them lose their cool (literally lol). The bickering is fantastic, I wish we would've gotten more of it. Maybe in the Heian flashback. I like how they like to complain, but then more or less reluctantly help each other out. Like Kenjaku bothering to take Uraume to Sukuna in their fishmobile while still being beaten up from the fight against Yuki.

Tengen/Kenjaku (my absolute fave at the moment), Takaba/Kenjaku (most wholesome Kenjaku ship honestly) and the recent reveal has renewed my passion for Jin/Kenjaku. Need to know more about the cursed married couple. Mahito/Kenjaku is also great for the cannibalism and vore.

Not so random, but I think Kenjaku has gotten pregnant before, (almost) every time with not very satisfactory results. That's part of why they decided to take a step back for the Death Painting experiment.

Kenjaku isn't cis. Kenjaku isn't drooling over Sukuna's dick or being jealous because he "rejected" them or something. The backshots meme are such a beaten horse that it has gone beyond death and come back to life only to die a miserable death again and again.

Róisin Murphy - Ramalama (Bang Bang) I think it captures Kenjaku's whimsical spirit fantastic, which contrasts with the kind of disturbing lyrics. I took the fanfic title Stitches Across The Eye from this song.

Miyamura Yuko's cover of Hirasawa Susumu's MOTHER Think the title makes the connection obvious. Could refer both to Kenjaku as a mother and their general perception of motherhood. The incorporation of dreams, connecting to the universe and passage of time make it especially fitting. The "oh mother" chorus is also especially haunting in this version.

like, obvi the submission for the other person was more passionate and included more details - and this is out of your hands as the person who's taking submissions, putting them in a randomizer and doing hard work compiling, tracking and posting everything - but the contrast between the two becomes funny

referring to this individual as a funky autistic man is a pretty common meme in the autism and new wave communities (and the considerable ven diagram overlap therein), and it's likely the submission was made by an autistic person - but at the same time part of what makes that individual attractive is the way he's so unapologetically himself, and the way that manifests is in how he dances, moves, talks and sings - in a way that people call weird but in a way that a lot of autistic people have done in the privacy of our own spaces - even been shamed for if we do it publically. some of the ways he sings is really reminiscent of a lot of vocal stimming for a lot of folks, for example, and his more jittery movements are very relatable so the autism is both a bit of a meme, but also a way that we feel seen - and that individual being (almost certainly) autistic and mainsteam people knowing about it and valuing him and finding him attractive and talented is a source of pride/hope in a lot of ways. There's many musicians, especially in alternate scenes like postpunk/new wave who seem pretty autistic to a practiced eye, but this individual has actually discussed the way he relates to that experience. i understand how, without that context, one could be genuinely worried that people believed that if you didn't vote for him you're abelist - but i really think that it's more of a lack of communication/understanding about how this is joked about in the relevant community, if that makes sense like, no-ones genuinally tracking down who voted for what and taking u to task for it. it's fundamentally a contest about who's hotter, and for some people this particular individual being [likely] autistic is relevant and makes him hotter - in the same way one might find an individual hotter if you enjoy or relate to their music, even if the person they're versed up against is objectively more attractive (if attraction can even be measured objectively, free of social practices/norms!) - and the fact that the only piece of propaganda was the word autism means that if you don't vote for him it must be because you hate the only thing that was mentioned about him is funny because it's so ott, but also cathartic for autistic people to joke about because so many of us have experienced hatred due to having autism. it's nice for that to be something funny and relevant in a real but also absurdist sort of way its very liberating, honestly, for an autistic person to be considered hot (being so often infantilised), so its this sense of pride in it too i guess - it can be okay to move in the world in a way that doesnt hurt and isnt tiring and brings you joy, and not only okay and normal but even desirable i hope this makes sense, i just wanted to reassure people that no-ones actually making a moral judgement, it is a meme but there's also something serious there too and it just seems like a joke that's not translating between communities i appreciate all the work that you've put into this tourney!!!! it's been very fun and i'm excited to keep on voting!

type of bed.  t.abaluga grew up sleeping in a raven's nest in the mountains , so he makes a similar nest in his cave , just bigger . he can go simply by sleeping on the cave floor with no problem , but it's still nice to have . / i'm still considering where lilli "lives" after she's freed , but i reckon it's with t.abaluga , so her bedding is similar .

number of blankets. no blankets are really necessary for t.abaluga , as he's warm enough with his own inner fire . / lilli would sleep with at least one .

what do they do if they cannot fall asleep?  t.abaluga will either go for a midnight flight , or simply look at the moon and stars until he falls asleep . sometimes if he isn't alone , he'll snuggle up with someone he trusts . / lilli is guilty of simply staying still and pretending to be asleep in hopes it will finally find her , but she'll also look up at the night sky or the aurora borealis if she can see it . she also sings lullabies , pretending to be singing it for someone else .

frequent dreams, nightmares. both kids are very vivid dreamers , and i think their spiritual connection can also grant them the ability to share a dream . independently however ,

t.abaluga's most frequent dream has him visiting his father's star , where they simply talk or fly in the surreal , space-like dreamscape . his frequent nightmares typically have loved ones dying or him dying , usually in disturbingly brutal ways . lots of blood . he doesn't often feel secure enough to fall back asleep unless he sees that they're alright . /

lilli often dreams of flying on colorful wings . i'm not sure if she's more prone to nightmares than t.abaluga , but i think they vary more . one specifically includes her being alone (?) in a castle , feeling like her head is being pierced on all sides with icicles . sometimes there's a monster inside or trying to get in the castle that wants to eat her , and she only has a limited time to escape . what really sticks to her even after waking up is not really the visuals, but whatever horrid sounds her overactive amygdala cooks up .

deep slumber or naps? deep slumber for both children ! they don't feel really refreshed unless they've dreamed . t.abaluga is more likely to take naps , but lilli can only nap if she's sick or exceptionally tired .

when do they sleep?  nighttime most often .

what could wake them up?  while t.abaluga will fall asleep instantly and long , he's more of a light sleeper . sudden changes in the ambiance and even whispering near him can be enough to rouse him . / lilli is an early riser and has a harder time getting to sleep , but waking her up especially during REM sleep is a lot more challenging . she'd at least need a little nudge .

same with the volkihar vampires i had a whole thing in my head of Plot but i can't quite seem to finagle it into the plot points and >:0! also using their werewolf form. tho that's usually less on purpose more when a fight is going Bad and they freak out

but jackal as a Person is just! little guy energy! recognizable as "that skittish Breton/Nord (??) who's pretty polite, doesn't talk a lot, but helps out the local farmers a bunch, plays with the kids, seems generally chill? so we let em be. also they bit ulfric once SO. good for them."

ough but no jackal is sooo. gnaws on them like a chewtoy. morally grey is probably the best label that fits? they're able to rationalize a LOT of what they do, at least to themself as a coping mechanism but also some of their actions are Objectively Not Great! (murdering grelod, stealing from ppl, the whole eating people while in dog mode, making out with an immortal dragon god who kinda wants to rule Skyrim. y'know)

this is also compounded by the dragon souls thing because of hc's i have for them, especially after mirmulnir initially. they got a bit of internal "im a Dragon, morals don't apply because im built Better <3" going on they have to shove down hard (esp when alduin enters the scene and goes 👀? oh??? i could make them WORSE??)

AS FOR YOUR QUESTIONS!!! lets take a dive (sorry it got long once again woops)

1: hooooo that is TOUGH. i always liked selkies and seals, so I'd def be a seal mermaid of sorts. ive seen the fandom depict stan as a shark merman, which i really like!! as for ford, hmmmm maybe a beluga whale?? im afraid i dont know much abt marine wildlife to give a better concrete answer ;;;; (ford wld def have a better idea than me, as marine life wld be one of his interests)

2: i feel like im the "mid ground" between the twins. like my personality can balance out with the other. im more sociable and outgoing when im with ford, but im more carefree and easygoing with stan. ford reminds me of the importance and value of knowledge. stan reminds me how to let loose and take a few risks.

because of that, it helps when ford and stan butt heads some times. i can sort of act as a "buffer" for them, helping them see the other's perspective. ford and stan are like red and blue, they can sometimes clash, but i can help make things become purple. (if that makes sense?? i mean like help them get along basically)

as for the town, certain citizens notice a little "something" between me and ford during our pining years. people outside of our circle just assume were dating, which leads to a lot of embarrassing explanations of how "no were not dating and no im not flushing red, you are, why is it so humid in here." the tension is obvious to almost everyone who can see (except for me and ford) and it INFURIATES them. but then once we DO start dating, it becomes major town gossip. people pay bets, hushed whispers float through the air, some people even come up to congratulate us as if we got married. but then things change when...

stan arrives. NOW. here it can diverge into diff pathways. but for this post im going to talk about how its affected in canon. portal happens blah blah blah, stan has to pretend to be ford. i eventually learn what happened, and stan and i have to play pretend. FAKE DATING ENSUES~~~~ and then some mutual pining because uh oh we really get along and maybe its because hes pretending to be ford but hes NOT ford, so who am i really crushing on here? stan himself or "stanford"? some angst ensues of course but dw, my s/i is very good at healthy communication so the angst is mostly on stans part....sorry bud. as if the whole "stolen identity" thing didnt have enough baggage already, i had to go and fall in love w the guy too ;;;;A;;;;

as for ways we spend time together, theres the occasional night out on the town, doing whatever the town has to offer! theres also hiking, just enjoying the nature together, monster free. but sometimes we just sit inside and watch tv, binge whatever we want. so many movie marathons......its really all just about being close and relaxing after the intensities of life (and weirdmaggedon) theres a layer of "were here. were safe. i got you."

3: my s/i is very much a dancer, because she's a huge musical chick!! singing and dancing, heck performing, since a very young age. stan def takes advantage of this cuz hes a dancer too, and we KILL IT on the dance floor. its electric, fun, and super meaningful on my part, as i LOVE a good dance partner. we also do the "silly kitchen dancing" much to fords annoyance. fords not big on dancing, claims he has two left feet. but uh oh whats this, theres a vinyl of slow dance songs on this record player and, woops, i accidentally placed the needle on the vinyl and oh noooo theres music playing and its just the two of us in this living room oh noooo.....looks like we gotta dance abt it smh

jokes aside, i can manage to coax him into a little slow dance when were alone in the house (and sometimes out in a secluded part of the forest). it becomes so chill to us that we just start talking about anything as we slow dance. theres laughter, flushed faces, gentle glances and its all just sweet. we hold each other so close we just end up hugging and moving in circles, not really dancing. its safe, comforting and warm.

2. Who’s the messiest? The cleanest?

This one is easy: David is the cleanest, Angel is the messiest. (Really, Angel is just disorganised, their living space is clean, and they can find the things they need... eventually.)

6. Going out to eat: Who pays? Who orders the most food? And who has dessert?

This is a cute question omg. David has a high metabolism, due to the sheer amount of energy shifting takes, and also the physique he maintains, so he definitely orders the most food. The money comes out of the joint account though, and it's normally a matter of who takes the card out first - although really, they don't eat out much, as David is a good cook, and it's an activity they like to do together.

(Angel enjoys it for the opportunities to get up close and personal, while Davey definitely sees it as more of a learning experience - but they both enjoy it.)

Dessert... if they've taken the time to dress up for a dinner out, then they're getting dessert together. Again, with that shifter metabolism, Davey's always got room for it, and they both enjoy sweet things.

11. Baths or showers? Together or separate? Any bubbles or bubble fights?

Showers, mostly, quick and fast, as neither of them really have the time for long morning routines. They do have a nice clawfooted tub that's big enough for two people though - and that's a thought... they've definitely tried it out. >:3

John looked around as he entered the bar. It wasn’t that busy, but he still had a hard time trying to find the guy he was meeting up with. John texted him ten minutes upon arriving that he was dressed in purple shirt and a black jacket, so that he would know where to find him.

John went up to the counter and ordered a beer, sitting at a stool on the end and watched the screen above him.

Ten minutes pass and he starts to get anxious; he was so excited to finally meet the person he was talking to for the past four months. They’ve grown close, and John likes that he can be so open about anything when they talk. There was something comforting about telling someone who doesn’t know about your past. It was a fresh slate.

“John?” He turned to find a woman approaching him. She had a soft smile and hopeful, kind eyes. Despite her beauty, he didn’t recognize her.

“Yeah?” John raised a brow and watched as her smile grew.

“Hi, I’m Y/N, it’s nice to finally meet you!” She pulled up a chair next to him and waved down the bartender to order a drink.

Frozen in his seat, John looked around the bar, just checking to see if there was a guy looking for him. Because this...this wasn’t right.

He’s been talking to a girl; he was so focused on how casual the guy- girl was that he didn’t even think twice about their gender.

Not that it really mattered, it just...he was so care free about who he was talking to. If he had known he was talking to a girl, then he would’ve probably been his usual cocksure self, talking more sufficiently or maybe even flirting.

“Sorry I was late,” Y/N pulled off her jacket and set it over the back fo her chair. “There was lots of traffic and I don’t really know this place well enough to walk alone.”

“No, no worries,” John stumbled with his words and scratched his the back of his head. “Uh...how was your trip up here?”

“Ugh, long,” She chuckled and sipped on her beer as the waiter set it in front of her. “The plane ride was exhausting. And I forgot how annoying the whole airport system is. I showed up an hour early just for my flight to be delayed for three hours.”

“Damn, that sucks,” John winced and she shruggedhopelessly. “So, what are you in town for?”

“For work, there’s a position that’s opening in one of the branches and my manager thought it would be the perfect fit for me.” Her smile was bright, John noticed that right away. “So, you know if all goes well, maybe...you might see me around more often?”

“Well, that wouldn’t be a bad thing, now would it?” John laughed and clinked his bottle against hers.

They fell into easy conversation after that, talking about their jobs, their dreams. Y/N didn’t bring up John’s family, which he had recently told her that things weren’t good at the moment. John made sure to remind Y/N that it was awful that she didn’t appreciate sushi. They laughed as they told stories about college.

John realized that he liked taking to Y/N, he felt she understood him in a way. Now that he knows that she’s a she, it doesn’t really change anything. It’s still the same Y/N he talked to on the phone. And he was himself when he talked to her.

When they were walking out hours later, John sighed and realized he didn’t want the night to end.

“Hey, I know you’re quite busy when you’re in town, but...I don’t know, if you’re free, maybe we could go see a movie or something?” He glanced at the sidewalk, avoiding her gaze.

Y/N smirked at his shy attitude, but nodded nonetheless. “I’d like that. As long as it’s the new Marvel movie.”

John scoffed, finally looking up, “Well, then you’d have to come over and watch a decent superhero movie. Like...any DC movie.”

Y/N laughed and nodded, “I’m down for that.”

She’d rearrange her schedule ten different times if it meant that she’d spend more time with John.
