i've talked before about the iga-ryu's link to crows and tanba's specific affinity with the shadowy birbs, BUT while he is often followed by murders of crows and can call upon any specific one to do his bidding, he does have favorites; an elderly crow that tanba has nicknamed hisa, and another he calls taishiro.

tanba wouldn't go so far as to label these two crows 'pets', but he does call upon them far more often than others, and they do harbor a sort of camaraderie with him, and when he's seen interacting with a crow, its usually one of the two, or both of them, and you'll know for sure its them based on two factors, the first being their appearances; hisa is albino, and taishiro has no eyes (literally none, not even eye sockets on them). the second identifying factor in relation to the two aforementioned crows is that they can speak in numerous human languages (fluently), and often do so when interacting with tanba. it's unknown if these crows could always speak as they do, or if tanba bestowed some kind of power upon them, but they typically only talk to him, or only speak to others when in his presence!!!

in his fate verses (main verses basically), hisa and taishiro are technically minor familiars that are more or less anchored to the human world by tanba's presence, but regardless of the setting, their true nature is debatable-- are they supernatural creatures in disguise? are they the result of some magic fuckery tanba created? who knows! but they are fiercely loyal to tanba either way, and he adores them.

Nameless! Aventurine Headcanons

I have a million other projects I need to be working on, but this tiny brainworm hasn’t let me go.  :(

TW: Talk of Aventurine’s backstory. Nothing explicit, but his brand is shown and stuff is alluded to. Symptoms of trauma are also explicitly mentioned. Also shirtless Aventurine but nothing sexual. 

Nameless! Aventurine who succeeded in bargaining his freedom from the IPC and became a wanderer. Who always wears a shirt with a high collar to hide his slave tag. Who melted down his sixty tanba and had them made into various accessories for his otherwise nondescript outfit. Who pulled scams and took risks whenever the mood struck him and then skipping out whenever things got dicey for him. Until he runs into the Astral Express.

Nameless! Aventurine who had heard of the Express in passing, and needing a quick passage off-world, offers his help with whatever trouble they’ve managed to get themselves into in return for a ride. Only to be thrown completely out of his element by the attitude of each of its members. None of them are interested in what he can offer them (though it takes him a while to figure that out) and are more than willing to still let him join the Express even when his plan doesn’t pan out the way Aventurine promised. 

Nameless! Aventurine who actually ends up fitting very well into the Astral Express’ dynamic. He is always happy to indulge in March 7th’s antics (You cannot tell me these two wouldn’t have spa days where they do facials, paint each other's nails, and just talk for hours about Robin’s latest album or whatever else is a hot topic for Honkai Star Rail’s version of the internet.) and treats her like a little sister. 

March 7th is also the first to figure out Nameless! Aventurine’s aversion to being touched. He frequently initiates contact, but the first time March came up behind him and touched his arm, the gambler jumped almost a foot in the air. He laughed it off, telling her that she ���give a man some warning next time” and pushed the conversation forward. She chalked it up to him being caught off-guard, but then she watched him freeze up when Himeko put a hand on his back, and when Welt patted his shoulder, and whenever March touched him first. 

Nameless! Aventurine who acts like the annoying middle child always pestering the older brother because he secretly admires him. Dan Heng doesn’t warm up to Aventurine nearly as quickly, and is often annoyed when he just waltzes into the room containing the data bank, plops himself in a chair, and talks at him for hours. The first time Dan Heng responded to something he said was actually what got Aventurine to be quiet. Dan Heng turned away from what he was working on to see Aventurine with his mouth slightly agape, not expecting him to actually answer. Dan Heng found it incredibly interesting how the normally smooth talker stumbled over his words for almost a minute before picking up where he had left off. 

Dang Heng is the first to notice how Nameless! Aventurine is always throwing himself in the firing range. Even when there’s absolutely no reason to or nothing to gain from making such a sacrifice. He subtly watched how in every conversation that even verges into dangerous territory, Aventurine pulls all of the attention onto himself with either a comment aimed to provoke, or acting in a way that drastically escalates things. Aventurine had told the Crew about his “luck”, and these instances had certainly liquidated any of Dan Heng’s doubts about that. But if his victory was always certain, why did he smile when he got shot? 

Nameless! Aventurine who Himeko treats like the rest of her kids right out of the gate. Aventurine is the most suspicious of Himeko out of all the Express Crew, but that doesn’t last long. They bond over their love of black coffee and as the two of the only three night owls on the Express (Dan Heng is also one, but he never leaves his room). While he would never say Himeko reminded him of his mother, she gave her own forms of paternal love freely in the way she always made sure he ate at least two meals a day, immediately patched up his various scrapes and scratches herself when he first got on the Express, and offered him his own room without hesitation. He would go to his grave with the knowledge that he had felt his face heat up when she had ruffled his hair after he beat her at chess during one of their 2am coffee drinking sessions. 

Himeko was the first to see Nameless! Aventurine’s hands were in terrible condition. When she checked him over for wounds, she noticed how he was always fidgeting with a coin. Later it would change to a beaten up poker chip, or his bracelet, or whatever odd thing he had picked up. And when she was bandaging his arm, his hands shook with constant tremors. When he was outside the Express, he always stuffed his hands in his pockets, and Himeko frowned late one evening when she saw Aventurine palm’s had scars from where his own nails had dug into them. 

Nameless! Aventurine who loves messing with Welt. Honestly, Aventurine gets along with Welt just as well, if not better than March. Welt is never without something interesting or insightful to say, and combined with Aventurine’s observant and commentative nature, they sometimes end up talking for hours without even realizing time has passed. However, Aventurine cannot live without a little mischief. And Welt’s naivety when it comes to current trends is just too good of an opportunity to pass up. This often manifests in Welt using slang terms in ways they absolutely were not meant to be, and a few interesting videos that have made their way onto the Express’ group chat. Welt has mostly caught on, but he still plays along if only to see the way Aventurine’s eyes light up whenever he successfully “tricks” him. The “kiddo” had gotten more laughs out of the old man than all of the members of the Express combined. 

Welt was the first to notice and tell the others that Nameless! Aventurine was exhibiting signs of severe trauma. During a pit stop, Welt asked Aventurine to go ask around for a certain brand of coffee beans for Himeko before calling the others for a meeting. After sharing what they knew, the group struggled to decide on a course of action. Aventurine was more than entitled to his past, and it would go against everything they stood for to pry for potentially painful details. But it also seemed wrong to let him continue potentially harmful habits without intervention. In the end, they decided to wait until they crossed paths with a specialist who they could ask for advice before taking any particular course of action. 

Nameless! Aventurine who kept making excuses for why he couldn’t get off the Express. He didn’t realize that no one had ever asked him to.

Nameless! Aventurine who upon waking one day to see his name emblazoned on the door of his room refused to come out for an entire day. The rest of the Crew didn’t even know it had happened, and Pom-Pom swore they hadn’t done it. Meanwhile, Aventurine spent most of the morning crying silently into his pillow and the rest of the day deep in the trenches of an existential crisis. He comes out the next day and acts like nothing ever happened, and the new status quo was set in stone. 

Nameless! Aventurine who was with March and Dan Heng when they found the Trailblazer. And immediately became fascinated with them. Especially after they threw themselves in front of March when the Doomsday Beast attacked the space station. He surprised himself with how upset he felt when he saw the Trailblazer was considering staying at Herta’s Space Station as opposed to coming with them. And how happy he was when they ultimately decided to join the Express. 

Nameless! Aventurine and the Trailblazer who get on like a house on fire. Aventurine is persistent and victorious in getting the Trailblazer comfortable with them, and often ends up in a game of tug-a-war with March for their attention. Trailblazer, who at first glance seems like a pretty stoic character, turns out to be quite unhinged, and Aventurine’s lack of self-restraint only enables them once they set foot on Belobog. Aventurine was a man who clung to unpredictability and the mystery of the dice like a starving animal, and the Trailblazer was impulsivity personified. From their out-of-pocket comments at the most inappropriate of moments to their dumpster-diving habits, Aventurine never knew what to expect from them. 

Trailblazer who is the first to discover the truth of Nameless! Aventurine’s past. It wasn’t anything grand; the two had gone out with March and Himeko for a drink and ended up collapsing in the same bed. Trailblazer woke first with an awful headache, a dry mouth, and dots doing pirouettes across their vision. Which is why they thought they were just imagining the brand on Aventurine’s neck. The high-collar shirt that he always wore had been chucked off at some point during the night. Aventurine stirred when a gentle touch carefully traced irritated, scarred skin. 

“You should really be applying some kind of salve to that.”

Reality cut through Aventurine’s hangover faster than a bucket of ice. He leapt out of bed and locked himself in the bathroom. He refused all of the Trailblazer’s attempts to get him to respond, and it was only after they promised they would give him some space and that they wouldn’t tell the others that his heart rate was able to go down. It still took him an hour before he left the bathroom. From there he avoided the Trailblazer like the plague. When the other members of the Crew asked what had happened, the Trailblazer explained it away as “drunken shenanigans” and let the subtext run its course. If only to give Aventurine some initiative to speak to them. This standoff lasted weeks, and probably would have gone on much longer if Aventurine hadn’t taken a dagger to the gut and a crossbow bolt to the knee. And the Trailblazer, out of the generosity of their heart, offered to personally make sure he made a full recovery. And many painful nights later, with the help of a few glasses of whiskey, Aventurine shared a few pieces of his past. He still had enough clarity of mind to keep the less palatable details out of it, but gave more than enough for the Trailblazer to understand what he had been through. Somehow, the bottle was emptied, and the two once again found themselves cuddled up in Aventurine’s bed and drifting off into peaceful slumber. 

Nameless! Aventurine who found a new family, and would continue to protect them with everything he had as he continued his journey starward.

i think he would definitely appreciate encouraging words and compliments, and i think that he would definitely take kind words to heart. even if it's little things, like complimenting his one of many home runs, or simple plays that he seems to pull off flawlessly.

as an older sibling, i feel like he doesn't expect things to be done for him. so when someone goes out of their way to do something for him, he feels really touched. i think he can be sometimes cold on the outside, but with close friends you know he really means well.

i feel like he feels the best spending time with those he loves. in the show, he feels like miyuki is ignoring what he wants to pitch, so it really messes up their relationship as teammates. so i think when people bother to pay attention to what he's saying really makes him feel loved or appreciated.

i feel like there wasn't too much of his character shown in the anime, but i feel like he would love gifts (not just pudding!). he's a really kind person, and i think he'd honestly be appreciated with any type of love language.

isashiki jun love language: physical touch

he can be loud and brash sometimes, but someone slinging their arm over his shoulder lets him know that he's being heard. i feel like if he's stressed about something, but if someone pats him on the back, or if his s/o links their pinkies, he can feel grounded again.

miyuki kazuya love language: quality time

he definitely has trouble expressing his emotions/feelings. i think that through time, he'd be able to express himself to those he cares for, or people will be able to understand when he's trying to show that he cares. and i think he is able to show it by spending time with others. i feel like he's okay with being alone, so when he puts in the effort to spend time with people, it shows how much he likes them.

he is definitely a physical touch type of person. absolutely LOVES to have physical contact with people, whether it be platonic or romantic. holding hands, an arm slung over another's shoulder, wrestling someone to the ground. he's definitely the type to hit people or fall all over them if he's laughing too hard.

kawakami norifumi love language: words of affirmation

he needs reassurance in his life. i feel like he's a bit timid, especially for a pitcher. he would probably feel most appreciative if someone gives him time to vent to them, and then reassure him that he's doing well, or subtle hints towards how he can improve.

in the show, i think the love language of quality time shows the most. i honestly think he would have a bit of every type, but this stood out to me the most. he spends time with his teammates because he cares about them. and you can tell that the more he practices with his catchers, the more intimate relationship they have (whether you want to see it as platonic or romantic).

i'd like to think that he'd really enjoy gifts from others. he was probably lonely growing up, and he struggles with expressing his emotions (other than passion towards baseball). so really anything from giving gifts or spending time with him really makes him feel wanted.

he'd definitely find value in compliments and encouraging words. not in a toxic way, but when someone encourages him to do his best or that he's doing well, it makes him want to work harder. i feel like he's a people pleaser, and that's not a bad thing.

Tanba

he’s got, he’s got a lot of room for forehead kisses.

anyways, for me, tanba seems like the type to avoid any pda or physical touch from anyone. not that he doesn’t like you or anything he’s just not entirely alright with it.

but once he does become comfortable with it, whether it be just you in general or everyone. he’s asking for a lot more than before.

typically before games, he sits alone quietly for at least a minute. sometimes you’re there, sometimes he just aimlessly thinks of you.

on a day you’re there, he asks for a quick kiss, and another. and suddenly you're peppering his face with kisses, the ones to his forehead never growing old to him.

he asks for more forehead kisses, for good luck of course.

Shunshin

i know shunshin is like a typical stoic ‘i won’t acknowledge you until you do something amazing’ kind of person but i think just the right person could change that instantly

he’s minding his business watching recordings of games, taking mental and physical notes of flaws in his pitches, and even sketching batters movements.

and suddenly, there’s just a soft peck on his temple. and before he could look to see who it was, another one is placed to the middle of his forehead a quiet, “go to sleep” filling his ears

there’s a blush growing on his face, but he’s glad the night hides it.

Sawamura

it’s hard containing this boy, the literal epitome of a lasting sugar rush.

you could try handling him with bare hands and motivation, but he will not go down with a fight.

it’s all the same one particular day, he’s running around yelling and laughing while the team sighs and looks at you, half expecting you to do something about him.

haruno is the one who suggests it, kissing him randomly to shut him up. and if you weren’t already nervous about being stared at, kissing eijun in front of everyone was going to make it worse.

he’s jumping in front of you for a moment, holding onto your hands while he does. at your call he stops jumping entirely, eyes wide when he feels your lips against his head, face flushing red when you pull away.

The exact name of the kink escapes me at present but Tanba seeing other people be absolutely unhinged and/or feral while they make bloody, visceral messes of their targets (and maybe themselves too) definitely makes him feel-some-type-of-way™.  Honestly the second part is more 👀 for him but both together just 👌

Kuramochi Youichi

The first time his son wants to play baseball, Kuramochi is beside himself.  Smug, but like weepy proud at the same time.

Probably takes the kid to the sports store way too young.  He tells you that it’s never too early to get a glove for baby!

(Let’s be honest, Miyuki probably got the kid a mitt as a baby shower present, because wtf he doesn’t know anything about babies)

His favorite times is taking the kid to the park and playing with him.  His son wants to play short mostly because that’s what’s Mochi teaches him.  Plus, Uncle Kazuya told him that he has runner’s legs like his papa, so kid decides to be lead off too.

Cries at his son’s first official game.

Isashiki Jun

Since he has a girl, he doesn’t expect it.  Like, never really thought about girls playing ball.

Might have said something about girls not playing baseball and about kid being a manager.  Its not meanspirited, or anything, he just doesn’t think before speaking.  Gets himself smacked by you, and has to calm down his baby girl.

Once he gets used the idea, he throws himself into it.  Definitely wants her to be a pitcher.  Knows that girls don’t get to play baseball at higher ages, so he starts her young in softball.  Convinces her that softball is just as good and that she can play the same position as him in softball too. Goes out of his way to start watching softball on tv and treasures the time he spends with his baby watching and playing.

It is literally the funniest thing the first time his girl strikes him out.  (Uncle Ryou teases him forever.  Even when he too is eventually struck out lol)

Tanba Kouichirou

He’s the hesitant parent – not because he doesn’t want his son to play, but because he knows how easy it is to get hurt, and doesn’t want baby boy to get injured young.

Researches and makes sure to start at an appropriate level.  Very involved in his son’s game when he’s really young – coach of little league and all that.  Until middle school anyway.

He’s worried about his son becoming a pitcher, since he knows the emotional toll it plays on you.  However, he knows his son is stronger than he was at that age and so encourages him to play whatever position he wants and teaches him everything he can.

Probably still good friends with Tetsu, Chris, Ryou, Jun, Masuko and Manaka.  I can see them all getting together with their kids to play.

Is the completely supportive dad.  Doesn’t mind anything his son does and always supports him, no matter how many times he changes his mind or doesn’t.

Ends up with twins, one boy and one girl.  Also 100% best dad.  Nurtures them both equally.

It’s his daughter that wants to be a catcher.  His son wants to be a pitcher, and has the pitcher attitude.  This amuses Chris, but since he is knowlegable about both positions it works for him.

Works with them separately and together.  Somehow makes criticism seem positive?  You don’t know how he does it, but his kids almost always come around to his thinking immediately.

Even when it was time for his daughter to switch to softball and he told her, she accepted it with only a few disappointed tears.

Studies softball intensively so he can continue to support and help his little girl even after the switch.  Makes it so that son doesn’t tease sister at all, and over all the transition is smooth.

At every one of both kids’ games.  Sometimes it’s hard, but he always finds a way to make it work.

Miyuki Kazuya

Loves his little girl beyond measure, even if he isn’t sure how to deal with her.  Starts her on baseball early because it’s what he does for a living and because it is not confusing like parenting lol  He can relate.

Is secretly choked up when his girl tells him she wants to play catcher.  Literally turns her into the best catcher – doesn’t care that she’s a girl.  As she grows, he teaches her how to call games, how to quicken her pick off and how to keep pitchers in line.

It’s their bonding time.  Baby girl never misses daddy’s game, and he does his best to be there for her when he can, including calling her every day when he’s on away games.

The transition to softball is rough – baby girl doesn’t like it as much at first.  But eventually gets into it when she sees all the similarities.  Becomes absolutely terrifying.  Eventually starts criticizing her dad’s play lol

When his daughter is named to the Olympic team at nineteen, he’ll retire if he has to (if he hasn’t already) so he can be in the stadium watching her from behind the plate.  Just try to stop him.

the moment he saw you he knew you’d never miss a chance to let your sharp tongue out in order to lead those who needed it, and the more he saw you boss around and generally hold the keys the more he was willing to throw the keys to his own heart to your feet.

Tanba loves it the most when you show up at his restaurant and help him run it during a particularly tough day. seeing you dive into the job as soon as you step in, ordering everyone and keeping an eye out for anything that could go wrong makes him almost ecstatic and lets him rest at least a little.

to Fukuoka your appearance is always a blessing since you have a slightly better way with your words than his boss does, although he knows that any form of loafing inevitably leads to getting a handful from both of you.

if the previously described happens, honey, you got a big storm coming. Tanba goes off himself and seeing you going off as well while trying to calm him down is the sweetest sight, seriously. he lives for your fury outbursts.

being partners with someone who is as dominant as you has one undeniable advantage: now you not only protect, but get protected, too. Asuka might still have plans for either Tanba himself or his business since her pie trade is kinda shaky, but with you around president sometimes develops slight blush thanks to how hot impressive you look when you beat the shit out of her.

Sometimes, she'll do odd jobs around the docks—being a technical "sailor" herself, she knows her way around aquatic vessels! I feel like Miyuki wouldn't get into a relationship until the end of his first year/beginning of his second year

He was kinda thrown into the catcher position when Chris got injured so I feel like he probably put most, if not all, of his focus on the team

With that being said

The entire team knows Kataoka's daughter

She would hang around practices and go to all the games so everyone knows her (I feel like she would do this even before officially enrolling to Seidou. She had nothing better to do and liked watching the different dynamics of the team over the years)

She's really close with the third years because she's watched them grow from the messy batch of first years to the absolute power houses they were now

So in short, she's kinda like the third years little sister :')

Obviously she'd be very knowledgeable about baseball. When you grow up with a parent who's job is coaching you're bound to pick up things about the sport

I can definitely see her, if not being a manager, than at least helping them out a lot

Honestly I think she'd help out regardless if she was an official member of the team or not

Because Kataoka was a pitcher I think most of her knowledge would be on pitching

Which brings me to how she more formally meets Miyuki

Her father had entrusted her to take notes on how the main batterys were doing now that Chris had injured himself, leaving a first year catcher to take his place

Miyuki payed her no mind as she observed, only acknowledging her when she pointed out small mistakes the pitchers were making

Once she had finished watching the pitchers she instructed the group to return to the field for the remainder of practice. The girl lingered in the bullpen until it was just her and Miyuki

He wasn't expecting her to talk to him but she did, pointing out a few things he could work on with Tanba. Miyuki suspected she had waited for the others to leave so she wouldn't embarrass him, which irritated him slightly but was grateful for nonetheless. Everyone was still warming up to the idea of him replacing Chris so it was nice of her to refrain from saying something that would bring even more attention to him

They walked back to the field together making small talk as they went. Miyuki was surprised to find out she was in the same class as him, he had just never noticed her

Miyuki quickly understood why his upperclassmen were so fond of the girl. She was always nice to him and had a plethora of tips and tricks up her sleeve. Her constant presence in the bullpen led to an odd sort of friendship between the two

Miyuki always had the impression that people didn't like him very much -old teammates complained that he was horrendously arrogant and pushy- but he couldn't help how welcomed he felt when around the younger Kataoka, almost like he was drawn to her

At the beginning of his second year it became painfully obvious his feelings for her were anything but platonic

In any normal circumstance he would ask her on a date and everything would be A ok!

But this wasn't any normal circumstance

It was an unspoken rule at Seidou that Kataoka's daughter was strictly OFF LIMITS

So Miyuki decided to ignore and suppress any and all romantic feelings he had for her

Out of sight out of mind

Well... That is until she confessed to him

Yikes....he uh... didn't see that coming at all

Miyuki would have classified himself as a grade A dumbass if he turned her down so the couple turned to the only logical answer

We all know Miyuki is a cheeky lil shit so he's really gonna push the limits with this

I'm talking stolen kisses in the bullpen, holding her hand under the table, pressing his hand to her lower back when they passed each other in the halls, "going over the scorebooks" which is code for meeting on field A once the lights had been shut off and going for a walk together

The Seidou team is HUGE tho so they were bound to be found out by someone

That someone was Furuya who walked in on the two making out in the bullpen one night

That's when they decided to finally come clean and tell her dad

Miyuki had NEVER felt mOre awkward than at that moment

Sure he dealt with Kataoka's bone chilling stares and strict coaching on the daily, but being sat across from him in his office holding the hand of the one thing that's more important to his coach than baseball felt like he had been thrown into the deepest pits of hell

Kataoka is smart. He had a sneaking suspicion as to what was going on between the two but never wanted to confront the idea

And now he was struggling with wanting to protect his little girl -his pride and joy!- and letting her follow her heart

Ultimately he agreed as long as they kept it to handholding only when around him and if Miyuki promised to take care of his daughter

The smile on his daughters face was more than worth it when he approved of the relationship (his heart melted on the spot :'))

Do you really think Miyooks got away with out a smidge of threatening?

No....no he did not

Before Miyuki left the office Kataoka warned him that if he ever broke his little girls heart he'd never be able to pick up, let alone look at, a baseball for the rest of his time at Seidou

Now that the cats out of the bag, the pairs relationship would be way more open, but still low-key by Miyuki's request

A lot of their time shared together is at practice. She brings him water, helps Miyooks put on his catchers gear, and almost always joins him in the bullpen

Before games she pulls Miyuki aside and places a kiss on his cheek for good luck. In return he gives her his Seidou cap to wear :')

They probably barely get alone time so whenever Miyuki gets the chance he sneaks her into his dorm so they can hang out in an environment that's not on a baseball field

He probably uses this time to just hold onto her bc wOw he's never met someone whose hugs feel so warm and cozy

You can bet that when the rest of the team discovers their relationship the third years are ready to throw hands if Miyuki even makes her frOwN once!!

Crosseyes headcanons (with special guests)

Moving forward after the whole Hole-kun shit

- Once the rest of the team gets revived there is a serious meeting:

--- Natsuki gets voted in as a full elite

--- Dokuga gets demoted from vice boss for withholding critical need to know information and getting his allies killed

--- Tetsujo gets a demerit for withholding critical need to know info from the team. Only a demerit tho b/c a higher up told him to keep his mouth shut.

--- The only fair way to pick a new leader is via battle royal. Last one standing is the new boss. The new boss chooses their vice boss.

--- Even if the old boss didn’t believe in the organization’s mission doesn’t mean they have to give up on it.

--- Start actually vetting people before letting them join. Just seems like a good idea.

- Natsuki wins the battle royal and picks Ton as her vice boss

- First order of business is making money to support both them and their organization. Time to use those drug dealing and murder skills. Turns out a week long murder spree is the perfect advertisement for selling your skills as a hitman.

- They may not have more black powder (yet) but there’s plenty of drugs out there that can sell. The boys put their gardening skills to use for weed and opium.

- Natsuki can sell her smoke. Defense magic is good for protecting construction workers in the rebuilding the sorcerer world after the fucking rain based apocalypse thing

- The Crosseyes set up their base of operations just outside of Hole city, they use stolen gold to buy a farm. 

- Natsuki can make doors to the magic world, it’s very useful

- The En family is still a problem given ya know En don’t like them. But with Natsuki’s magic the Crosseyes can be just a little bit less scared of Shin and Noi

- Honestly Natsuki becomes the MVP and its what she deserves

- Other Crosseye business ventures include self defense classes for the magicless, knife making, crosseye merchandise, exterminators, repairmen, straight up theft

- Literally everyone and their momma knows that black powder is made out of people and no one cares. The elites just don’t know how its made b/c the ex-boss never told anyone and Kaiman refuses to talk about it. 

- Having human Crosseyes is useful because they can weaponize Hole-kun statues. Which makes everyone just a little bit less scared of ... Noi at least. The things don’t work properly on Shin.

Dr. Kasukabe

- Kinda reminds them of the ex-boss but waaaaaay more cheerful and talkative

- Make a deal with him, if he becomes their in-house mad scientist and helps them make black powder and understand their bodies better (maybe even cheap surgeries to help people open up their smoke ducts) they will provide him with all the sorcerer bodies he could ask for for his research

- Has a door to the magic world which is useful and canned door smoke which is also useful

- The elites help keep his house clean and run errands for him in exchange for access to his house and equipment

- Neither Dr. Kasukabe nor Johnson can figure out how his mansion got turned into a halfway home for orphans (both human and magical) in less than a year but so long as no one messes with his work he guesses it’s fine.

- Haru visits one day like, “Who the fuck are all these people living in your house?!” --- Kasukabe:  While you were away I rejoined a gang

Nikaido

- Is declared an honorary Crosseye as the ex-boss’s partner and for being nice to Natsuki, Risu, Dokuga, Tetsujo, and Kaiman

- “Train us Nikaido-senpai!” Natsuki decides that the gang should learn some fighting skills form Nikaido b/c Nikaido is very very good at fighting.

- There is an unspoken understanding that in the Crosseye hierarchy that Nikaido ranks higher than Dokuga and Tetsujo. Not only did she beat them in a fight they also work at her restaurant.

- Nikaido is a-ok with taking drug money as payment and gifts

- Sometimes the Crosseyes rotate young adults by the Hungry Bug like, “X needs a job, they work cheap and they won’t rob you.”

- Nikaido disagrees with the Crosseyes on economics. She’s a capitalist and they’re out and out communists.

Kaiman

- Finds out that Dr. Kasukabe is working with the Crosseyes and just kinda screams for awhile

- There was a serious debate on if Kaiman counted as a Crosseye. Kai was (Kai was officially demoted for killing comrades without good reason and also cannibalizing a comrade without consent) and Kaiman is kinda Kai, But Kaiman’s also kinda Aikawa who definately was not a Crosseye even if he was partners with Risu. Also debates as to if Hole-kun was their real boss and Kai/Kaiman/Aikawa was just his ride?

- Kaiman personally does not identify as a Crosseye. That does not stop him from somehow getting dragged into Crosseye bullshit.

- Gets roped into a weeks worth of knife fights b/c the Crosseyes wanted revenge for the bullshit Kai did to them/put them through. (a lot of people get in on this action, not just Crosseyes. Tetsujo invites Fujita who does stab the shit out of Kaiman for his late homie Matsumura. Tanba and Kirion tag team and WWE Kaiman’s ass.) It’s not a good time but also not a bad time, people are working out their issues.

Risu

- Joins in on the fuck up Kaiman week of knife fights. For fun. Also a little bit for vengeance. 

- Tries a rematch with Dokuga. Gets his ass whupped. Like... no contest.

- Honestly the Crosseyes are rooting for him as a devil candidate. Someone who was one of them making it as a devil? That’d be sweet.

- He likes Kawajiri but the ex-devil’s rich people vibes get rancid and he vents about rich people bullshit to the other Crosseyes.

- Starts actually making friends with the rest of the Crosseyes. He’s not trying to but like he desperately needs more friends.
