What if reader was an old childhood friend of some of the competitors (ie Courtney, gwen, bridgette, Heather, duncan, Izzy, cody, etc) with said character(s) having strong feelings for before reader moved away just to come back into their life during one season with reader initially unaware of these returning feelings in said camper.
Bonus: What if reader/camper did get together in that one season, only for next season to have a love triangle form involving another character. The camper is aware of said triangle forming though reader might be oblivious due to now having eyes only for first camper. What'd this be like for different people?
Compretitors with returning feelings for childhood best friend reader!
u guys r really feeding me with these prompts I can't even lie this one was a little tricky with all these moving parts! Sorry if some of these are a little angsty and don't really have happy (per say) conclusions, but I'm just doing what I think best fits the character! I only write pure fluff if that what im given. I hope you enjoy anyways anon!
Courtney
Courtney is beyond stricken when she sees you.
What are the odds you both would have signed up for the same shitty reality tv show?
Well, high as Courtney would tell you. You always were very similar even back when you were inseparable as children.
You knew Courtney was always very fond of you before you moved away, so the reunion is very sweet, and heartfelt.
The two of you attempt to spend a lot of time catching up on what you missed out on after you had moved, but on the show there isn't much time for it.
Courtney can't help but think about how absolutely heartbroken she was when you moved away.
I would think with Courtney's determined attitude (plus based on what she says to Gwen during their friendship) she has made too many friends.
So when you moved away, especially since she was little, it sort of felt like the end of the world to her.
I imagine you being around is wildly distracting for her. Despite her returning romantic feelings.
You were the only person who ever had that type of close vulnerable relationship with her, she would do anything to please you, receive attention from you, or keep you in the game.
All of it leads to some very undesirable slip ups from her, which with you is how I imagine she goes home on the island.
She watched you as she got pulled away, she's not going to leave it unsaid this time, she remembers what that feels like, she remembers how isolating and awful it feels.
"I'm going to miss you ______!" She called out to you from the end of the doc of shame.
You waved wildly "I'm going to win this for you Courtney!" You call back.
"No- I mean! I'm going to miss you because I'm in love with you!"
You stand there stunned as she boards the boat and calls out one final thing "You had bet your butt you'll win this for me! I just confessed my love to you on live television!"
You try to call back that you feel the same, but Chris does what Chris does best and gets in the way of a good time. Even if the boat hadn't driven her off before you got the chance to confess back, the motor is loud enough to where she probably couldn't hear you anyways.
By action, you two have fully discussed your feelings, and how everything should go now that you're into each other but still competitors.
You both agree that your first real official date should be after the show is over, so while things aren't technically official by next season, you two are undoubtedly interested in each other and therefore not getting involved with anyone else.
You stick true to that, but Courtney can see Duncan keeps looking at you, and she's not stupid, she would know that punks gazes in and out.
She doesn't bring it up to you, she knows you're generally very dense about those kinds of things.
But eventually, she can't take it anymore and her jealousy starts driving her mad.
She declares that you two are official, and that you very much are dating, which causes some tension between the two of you during action since you both agreed it just wasn't a good idea.
After some fighting, fighting, and more fighting eventually it's you this time taking the walk of shame to the lame-ousine.
Courtney fights her way to you.
"I'm sorry, I didn't expect it to play out this way!" She says sorrowfully.
But you did, you know just how Courtney is, you know how she gets, and while you didn't fully understand why she did what she did you could've guessed that some kind of fight was inevitable. Plus you know how she gets during competitions.
"Hey don't sweat it," you smile "now that I'm not technically on the show, I don't have as much of a problem doing this-" you say and bring her in for a short and sweet kiss.
After years of waiting for this moment, Coutney can't help but freeze up.
You pull away, and head towards the lame-ousine as she calls "I'll win this for you!"
"You had better win this for me! I just kissed you on live television!" You say smiling as you duck into the back seat.
Gwen
Gwen feels nothing but nervous when reuniting with you.
She was happy to see you sure, but her anxiety held her back in how she displayed that happiness.
She's mainly worried that too much time has passed since the two of you knew each other, and that the two of you won't have anything to talk about anymore.
Eventually the two of you slump back together and things go back to the way that they were before you had moved away.
Another reason she was desperately trying to avoid you at first is because of the huge massive crush she used to have on you.
And dang it of course you had to get cuter as you got older!
Just as she realizes that those feelings for you are slipping out of hiding, is also when she realizes that it's already too late.
Once again the two of you are glued at the hip, just like how it used to be.
You, being who you are and were, are wildly oblivious to these feelings because of course you are.
Gwen isn't one to wear her heart on her sleeve, and even though you two are close she is less so with you, she's been burned before, she's not letting that happen again.
The two of you are sitting next to each other at the talent show when it happens.
Heather goes up on stage and says "Originally I was going to dance for you, but instead I want to celebrate team spirit with a collaboration" She holds up a dark notebook with an evil look plastered on her face.
Gwen seems to recognize it and instantly freezes up "Gwen? Are you okay?" You asked, knowing immediately something was off.
"She wouldn't," she says, and then braces herself.
"So with words by Gwen, performance by me, enjoy."
She cleared her throat before beginning "Okay so I've been trying to ignore them. But they're just so cute! I know it's been forever since we've seen each other and in that time they have gotten so hot! Out of all my childhood friends, of course it had to be them."
Gwen dashes away from the bleachers, and Heather seems satisfied.
Of course you run after Gwen to comfort her.
She lamented on and on about how you must think she's such a creep now, and was acting like a total school girl, still writing in a diary.
But of course you didn't feel like that at all, this was Gwen you were talking about here. The cool, collected, funny quiet girl, and you were obsessed with her.
You two start getting a little more romantic after that, and Heather seeing her plan to drive a wedge between the two of you did not work realizes she has to get her hands messy and plays a little bit more of a direct role in getting you eliminated.
It's a sorrowful goodbye until you see her again in action.
Bridgette
Reuniting with Bridgette is nothing but vibes.
She's beyond stoked to see you again, and even more stoked to ride the wave with you again.
I imagine the two of you met at the beach, and it was love at first sight for her.
You two click all over again like no time has gone past, and she fills you in on every little thing you've missed.
Things are super cut and dry with Bridgette, no mess, nothing but chillness.
She makes her feelings pretty clear, with some hints and stuff.
She learned her lesson the first time, letting you leave without having ever told you how she really felt hurt in ways she wasn't ready to feel again.
But if you don't pick up on it she'll just flat out tell you.
"I'm not doing this cause you're my team mate, I'm doing it cause I like you. You dork."
"I like you too Bridge, you know that."
"Not like that-!" She exclaimed, splashing you playfully, rocking the canoe as she did "-like like like you."
You stare at her in disbelief for a moment.
"what?!" you exclaim.
"Do you not feel the same?" She frowned.
"No I do... I just wasn't expecting-" she cuts you off tackling you rocking the whole boat as she does.
The rest is history and you two are pretty much inseparable from that point onward.
Up until World Tour, where Alejandro starts becoming a plane wide problem.
He tries targeting you at first, but youre so in love with Bridgette he can't get any headway.
But Bridgette being stuck on an opposing team leaves her exposed to his manipulation, he lies about you and makes her question her loyalty.
After she gets stuck to a pole, you find her, but when she explains what happened you just feel so hurt and betrayed that you leave her in the dust (or well, snow).
After a world tour it takes a lot of apologizing and healing to get over what happened between the two of you but you're both determined to make it work so you both put your strongest foot forward and work at it.
Heather
Heather is absolutely stunned when she sees you.
You greet her excitedly when she hits you with a "hello? Earth to nerd, I don't know you!"
That's enough to keep you away from her for a while.
She 100% is only pretending not to know who you are, but what choice did she have? She couldn't risk her feelings for you returning and ruining her chances at winning.
Close tender friendships like you used to have were bad for her image now, she had an impression to keep in this competition and she'd be dead in the ground before she let you or anyone else come in the way of that.
Her tenderness for you starts to show through and through though, you know her like the back of your hand, still, even after all these years.
You'd recognize those glances anywhere, and you knew it meant more than just being a strong team mate when she would point out all the ways in which you did well in the challenges. She was trying to keep you in the game.
The two of you never have any heart to hearts, nothing like that anyways.
She never reveals that she does remember you, not even as you watch her fade into the horizon on the boat of losers.
World tour she's more determined than ever, you've never seen her so deranged to win.
I'd imagine the love triangle would have more to do with her and Alejandro then you and anyone else.
She becomes torn between the two of you, and the inherit struggle in trying to pick over someone who actually matched her wit, and her childhood best friend and longest crush.
She makes her decision when she inevitably votes you out.
"Heather... you voted for me?" You asked, heart breaking, eyes already feeling wet.
She scoffs, "Don't take it so personally."
You sniffle a little bit, and then shake your head "I should've known better than to fall for your two faced snake self twice." You spit.
And with that you're gone.
She's not stupid, she's not forgetful either, and you knew that she knew just what "twice" really meant.
But she'd dug her grave now, she would just have to hope it could hold a million bucks.
Duncan
The meeting with him is very awkward I'd imagine.
He'd likely pretend not to know you until he can get a moment alone with you.
I would imagine he's largely embarrassed of your relationship due to the fact that he met you before his Juvie days, and you were one of the only people who had known him before he became nothing more than a delinquent.
So yeah, he's hell bent on making sure people don't find out about you two knowing each other.
But we all know deep down Duncan is a totally sweetie, even if it is deep, deep, deep down. His affection for you is bound to show one way or another.
Ever the observant one I'm sure it was Courtney who noticed first, marveling at how strange it was that you two of all people had romantic feelings for each other.
She urged the two of you together, subtly, attempting to be your sort of wingman, unbeknownst to even you.
Eventually Duncan works towards getting her voted out because of this, he's so obsessed with keeping his bad boy persona he'd do just about anything in this competition to keep it up. Even risk losing a million big ones.
You knew something was fishy about Courtney getting voted, but you couldn't put your finger on what. At least not until you heard him in the confessionals.
"I had to get that Courtney chick voted out, she was getting too close. I hate people who get to close,"
"Duncan!" you exclaim.
You can hear him mutter curses from the outhouse.
"Forget it! You know I can't believe I was actually starting to like you again!"
After that it's a nonstop battle for Duncan to win back your affections.
I would imagine the love triangle would consist of you, Duncan, and of course, Courtney.
She would start falling for you based on the way you shamelessly defended her despite your feelings for Duncan.
Only problem for you was those feelings hadn't exactly gone away since last season, and you were still very much into him.
You three fight a lot, and are the reason all three of you end up going home.
Which leaves nothing but time to work out your messy feelings for Duncan, and his for you.
But maybe time is really all the two of you need.
Izzy
Izzy is a bit of a wild card (obviously).
I feel like reuniting with her is just super duper chaotic, and very overwhelming at first.
She wants to fill you in on every little detail in her life within the same second she sees you again.
But you remember how to rein her in, she really hasn't changed much from the chaotic messy kid she was. (save for being a criminal now (whoops!)).
You being in the challenge with her would keep her much more rallied and motivated towards an understandable goal.
She can feel those intimate feelings creeping back, but she isn't shy with it.
I imagine she probably would've confessed to you once before, when you first moved, only neither of you wanted to try out long distance and thought it might only ruin what a good friendship you had. So through your move you decided to just stay friends.
You don't get long to sit and wonder about if those feelings still linger for her as they do for you when she abruptly asks
"So hey, are you interested in dating during the competition?" she asked, sitting beside you, anything but shy.
"What?"
Izzy was nothing if not explorative, she collected new experiences like pokemon cards, and she wanted to live fully every part of life.
"It might be a little bit messy. But I think maybe it could work, if all that was keeping you was distance the first time... well... I'm here now."
She stares at you with an expectant kind of rare almost nervous look, and though the confession is anything but picturesque, with her, it's perfect.
I think the love triangle would come in with her next season with maybe Alejandro falling for you.
Hard to say whether his attempts at flirting are due to advancing in the game, or genuine attraction. Either way you have trouble picking up on it, especially when things are going so well with Izzy.
I wouldn't say Izzy isn't a jealous person, I just think she could fall either way, depending on the person, depending on the day, the humidity in the air, basically on nothing at all. She's nothing if not erratic.
With Alejandro, she might be inclined to threaten him with her license to kill depending on her mood, and depending on what he tries to pull with you.
Cody
The reunion with Cody is one that is very heartfelt, and he instantly lights up upon seeing you.
You can see that he's fairly committed to his "too cool for school" schtick, so having any genuine connection with him might be a little tricky.
He's one person I feel like would have definitely tried to keep in contact with, it wasn't anything like every day phone calls, but the two of you had definitely spent at least some time sending letters back and forth.
So when you too meet there isn't a lot of catching up to do, only some.
He's overall very excited to see you back, and you know him enough to know that, even if he's refusing to show it.
You can feel those creeping feelings sneak up on you until the hit you smack in the face during one of the challenges.
"Cody!" you exclaimed during one of the challenges as he hit the ground hard.
"I'm fine," he lied, his voice strangled, the wind having been knocked out of him wholly.
You helped him up, and picked up a piece of paper that had tumbled out of his pocket and went bouncing a few feet.
At first you mistake it for trash, but with the way that even injured and put out Cody grabs for it, you figure it must be something good.
You were due for a little bit of teasing when you decided to open it, only to realize that it was a letter from you.
It's an old one, a really old one, perhaps even the first one you'd ever sent.
"Uhhh... how'd that get in there!?" He exclaims, swiping it out of your hands which are too stunned to fight against it.
Realization dawns on you just as quickly, there is only one reason he'd would've kept that with him after all those years.
"Oh my god Cody, you like me!"
The rest is history, and you two start dating among the challenges.
The conflict would come with Sierra I would think, who's hell bent on breaking you two apart.
All of her attempts fall flat unfortunately for her, and you two stand as one of the more healthy and strong relationships within the show.

Pls i NEED more Chris McLean x reader. I NEED😭🙏 ive read everything of him on here😓
So pretty please something like chris mclean x wife reader and like, the whole tdi cast gets to meet her bc they didnt believe that Chris had a wife at first?😇
TRUST ME WHEN I SAY I feel the exact same way😫 I love Chris so much and it’s such a huge pleasure that I can write for him while having other people who love him enjoy it as welllll. I will be writing him for a very long time so you can always expect something new evolved around him to come up ;)<3
CHRIS MCLEAN X WIFE! READER ONE SHOT
Tumblr media
Having your daily hug with Chris, the tender moment reminds you of what he told you earlier.
“Were you being serious when you told me the kids laughed at you when you told them you were married?"
“Mhmm.” he responds from underneath you,“They called it a sick joke and told me that stand up comedy was way out my league.”
“Aw darling.” you kiss his forehead,“I’m guessing you’re gonna ask a favour for me to stop by to prove them wrong?”
He raises an eyebrow,“What do you mean? Stand up comedy is in my league. I just don’t prefer it, doesn’t mean I’m not good at it.”
He can be so silly sometimes,“I meant your marital status, baby.”
“Oh, yeah...” he holds onto your wrists,“Please?”
You let your body relax completely on top of his, still smiling,“Your wish is my command.”
“Aw what’s the matter, McLean? Couldn’t your wife make it?” Duncan was the first to pick up on ridiculing Chris, eyes still puffy from his chronic cries of laughter from last night. On another circumstance, Chris would’ve been fuming, had he not have reason to smirk.
“How sweet of you to worry, Duncan!” the host begins off, clasping his hands,“But she’s made it in one piece!”
On cue, you walk into the mess hall, linking your arm with Chris’,“Hii everyone! So happy to finally see you all in person!”
All conversation died.
Everyone turns to you.
This woman they’ve never seen before...
His... His wife?
Were they hearing that right?
No way... He was being serious?
Chris was rolling on the inside at the shared alike look of being slapped spread across the contestants, especially of the mocking kind.
“I...didn’t know you had enough space in your heart to love someone else!” Beth’s the first to break out of her ice of shock to chirp.
“Surprised?” Chris chuckled, allowing you to introduce yourself, which was not what you guys decided.
“Yeah, I’m (Y/N)! This hot mess’ wife...” turns out improvising in front of teenagers wasn’t as fun as it sounded,“Sorry, I’m...not too good with words, so...help yourself to these cupcakes I made for you guys. I made them as a way to say how huge of a pleasure it is to meet you all!”
As you turn around to unwrap the trays, Leshawna clears her throat to privately address the cohort,"One of two things are gonna happen. One, those cupcakes are filled with maggots and hair. Or two, it's the first actual food we're gettin’ on this set."
Everybody nods in agreement.
They were right to inspect the wrapping and texture with their noses and eyes.
Yet didn’t expect to have the flavour of delicate buttermilk crumble on their tongues.
Oh my God...
Maybe they were deprived from having treats so long on the show, but it was unanimously categorised as a whole new delicious nonetheless.
The punk delinquent scoffs over,“Yeah... I’m not buying that’s his wife.”
“That evil maniac with a permanent smile is probably holding her hostage!” The ginger geek dramatically pinpoints.
“I can see why, these are too die for!” Owen squeaks, scoffing down an entire cupcake, wrapping included, not comprehending what situation it would mean for you if you really were abducted.
“Hm... Maybe he’s paying her.” Gwen suggests alternatively after taking another glance at you: it was your arm around him. Too touchy to be forced...
“I’d understand if he was hot like me, but he’s not even halfway there! Where would he find someone willing to do all that for him? No amount of money should convince anyone to ever lose their dignity for the likes of him." Justin criticises out of his internal debate of skipping the cupcakes or not.
“You’d be shocked if you’ve seen the fansite.” Noah opposes like it was the most known thing.
Speaking of which,"Sierra.” Heather directs, taking sudden control of the situation and everyone’s eyes to peel towards the superfan whose mouth was staining in the same dye as her magenta hair, perking up from her snacking at the mention of her name,“You know everything about everybody. Say, is Chris paying that woman to pretend to be married to him for laughs?"
The girl whose lifeline was Total Drama quickly swallows the last portion of her cupcake to appease her idols with a packed answer,“Oh, no! It’s all true! Unfortunately. Those two got married way before Total Drama was aired. A lot's happened... My mom waited years for Chris to propose to her and there he goes, chasing after that nobody! Do you have any idea how painful it is to see my mom’s husband having an affair? (Y/N) is nothing but a block of concrete, blinding Chris from seeing his true soulmate! A.k.a my mom!” The last few sentences gradually grazed with personal prejudice, but not enough to throw the next cupcake away.
“Wait, but if Chris did get married to your mother... Wouldn’t that make you his stepdaughter-?“ Alejandro posited, already having a hard time imagining Chris take that role biologically.
"So Chris,” Cody interrupts the impending awkward ambient Alejandro’s phrasing would bring, steering the conversation back, still bewildered,“...really does have a wife."
Bridgette takes her slo mo time in grabbing another frosted vanilla good, rethinking, the same man that laughed at their pain,"I...honestly don't know how to feel about that."
"Huuu... I feel like I went overboard with cupcakes, Chris!” you freak out to your husband, fidgeting with the sleeves of your turtleneck,“Why did I pick to make something so childish? I should've picked something more formal... Like a dish from my home country..."
"Relaaaaax, no one else is thinking about that." Chris assured, biting into one of your delicacies.
You continued to murmur on,“I wanted to make something universal, a collection of sweets so in case one likes a certain flavour more than others... I thought teenagers around here liked cupcakes... I feel like such a fool... I hope they don’t think I see them as childish...”
He grabs one and holds it horizontally to your lips, painting them yellow,“It’s not just teenagers that like them, (Y/N). Besides, they are children. Children like things that are childish.”
That’s true... Your paranoia’s sunk,“Well... They seem to be enjoying themselves. I’ve been worrying for nothing.” you smile, drawing your finger on his stubble to take for licking,“You had some icing there.”
Turns out, you were really nice.
The angel to Chris’ devil.
The sun to Chris' moon.
The calm to Chris’ energetic.
“So (Y/N)... I just...have a quick question on behalf of everyone else.” The CIT girl shields her mouth with her hand, like she didn’t want anyone else to hear.
“Of course, Courtney. Whatever would you like to know?” you welcome her, all kinds of possible questions cloud your mind.
She tightens your shoulders in her palms,“What the hell do you see in Chris?”
...You expected that one,“Why, I see a strong, handsome, hilarious man. A goal-driven, deep down caring, loving, in need of love man.”
Now the only true thing she heard was “goal-driven”- to kill them as spiritually as possible. Maybe even physically.
"You're not brainwashed, are you?" Her eyes widened like your answer had tossed her deeper in her horror.
"Get her to blink two times in a row if she needs help!" Tyler shouts, unintentionally defeating the purpose of being discreet from his clean intention.
"Hm?” Teenagers are so funny!,“It's not brainwash when it's love! After all, wouldn't you say you've found yourself in love with someone you never thought you'd be with?" You smile warmly at the type A when the butterflies fluttered an external reaction across her freckled face.
"Th-That's different!” she impulsively shrieked before closing her mouth in embarrassment. She looks around, and after making sure no one was judging her, she continues speaking, back to her whispering voice,“That’s Duncan. This is Chris.”
“Well, we both seem to have a type for the ones that went to jail, don’t we?” you wittily mention, giving her a wink to the similar parallel.
Leaving Courtney to her common dynamics contemplation, there was no better timing for Owen to ask if you had any more cupcakes to give.
“I’m so happy you liked them! I’ll tell you what, I can make more and send them to you."
“Don’t get too flattered. Bed crusher there would eat anything, even things you can’t call food.” The overruling antagonist scornfully gestures, her hair as black as her heart.
“...Ah, right.” you shouldn't have thought so highly of yourself over baking. To Owen, they probably weren’t good, just something to give his appetite.
“Well... That's not entirely true...” The foodie looks to the side uncomfortably for a moment from Heather’s harsh perspective,“Having eaten a lot of things gives me a solid judgement on a variety of tastes. With that said, I’d specifically be really happy to eat (Y/N)’s baked cupcakes again. You can't buy that kind of quality!"
Aw! “Thanks, Owen!” it’s no mystery why everyone was in his support back first season!
“You didn’t use any store bought cake mix, did you?” DJ asks, his naturally kind pitch of voice crunching up an otherwise accusing delivery his words may have played.
“Nope! If I was gonna have half of the ingredients already done for me, I may as well have just ordered the finish product.” the truth radiates through your magnetism, not as magnetizing as your husband, smothering you away in his arms.
For some reason, no one said anything right away. Like taking an exam, silence had scattered among these group of teenagers.
"I'm convinced she has Stockholm syndrome."
Up till Harold breaks it.
"Stockholm syndrome?! Come onn, you know that’s not a real thing!” Lindsay asserted, turning to Beth,“Is it a real thing?"
The nice-hearted nerd smacks a hand to her forehead. Rather than finding humor in uninformed Lindsay, Trent finds his eyes trapped on the sight of Chris’ hand holding onto yours, fingers locked, palms resting. Above all his faults, Chris...still had you.
That kind of love...hard to find, lucky to have.

Pretends it doesn’t matter but gets possessive as Hell, and threatens anyone who says they’ll tell on you.
If around others he’ll brush off the gesture but the moment he has you alone he’ll return your affection tenfold, letting his guard down to be soft and hold your hand, kiss your forehead etc.
He’d rather die than admit it, but you make him feel special and needed, and like he matters to someone for things other than competitions.
Definitely brings out his softer side overall.
Honestly, I think once you guys get out of the show, he’d learn to cook for you too- he wants to make you feel as flustered as you make him.
Gwen:
Tumblr media
Absolutely melts whenever you show up to your cabin with her favorites in hand. Nothing makes her more whipped than affectionate gestures like that- and it makes her love you all the more.
Will try to match by doing more overt gestures herself, like offering you her clothes or accessories so you guys can match.
Heather says something snarky and gets a muffin at her face for her trouble(one of Chef’s, not one of yours. Yours is too valuable.)
Sets up the cutest picnic dates in the forest both to hide from Chef and spend time with you.
So grateful for you, honestly.
Courtney:
Tumblr media
Also loves to cook actually, so she makes it a competition to try and out-do you.
She tends to be more private in her romantic relationships but it becomes a lot more obvious to the others when you both get caught smuggling the others favorite ingredients and snacks.
Tries to brush it off when she gets teased for her sweet actions, but she’s super flustered.
Worries she’s not doing enough now and again until you remind her you’re doing it because she does more than enough and you just want to shower her in the same love she gives you.
Excels at baking so lots of cute dates where she makes dessert and you make the entree.
Izzy:
Tumblr media
Is astounded by all the different ways you know how to cook things she really just puts whatever over a fire or eats it raw.
You really help her expand her palette and she has even more energy now because of it.
Wants to learn anything and everything about cooking now- constantly following after you and bouncing around the kitchen like a maniac.
Teaches you her more rudimentary cooking skills too…it’s not very good, but you love her so you help her make even cooking over an open flame delicious.
All the other campers are grateful.
Heather:
Tumblr media
Doesn’t show it but actually really worried you’ll be caught, and is terrified you’ll get in trouble or worse from trying to be too kind.
…blackmails and bribes other campers to give you time in the kitchen and distract Chef/play guard dog.
Acts surprised every time even though she always sees it coming.
You’re just too kind for your own good- you can’t even help it.
“Oh my God, for me? How did you know?”

Desperate housewives au stuff (mostly Duncney) bc it's been on my mind latelyyy
So, Duncan and Courtney were on and off for awhile before splitting. Then a little after they split she meets a decent guy (possibly someone her parents set her up with) and their relationship moves pretty quickly "For the baby" they're having which is actually Duncan's but no one needs to know that.
The whole housewife thing really isn't for her though and it would be a reoccurring argument between her and her husband but she would stand her ground every time. She's too good a lawyer to quit and "become like the rest of the girls in the neighborhood" sooo...
Her and Duncan would reunite years later when he moves onto the street. Courtney would go over to welcome her new neighbor and nearly chokes when she sees it's Duncan.
Duncan has a hard time fitting in on the street. The neighborhood is pretty judgy and he's a total punk, so they're wary of him. And does he have some deep dark secret? Probably. But the neighbors definitely take things too far and assume the worst
Him and Courtney would reconnect and eventually it'd lead to an affair. Courtney would feel Super guilty about it since she was once cheated on, but rlly her and Duncan are falling in love. They'd sneak around a lot, there'd probly be some comical scenes abt it. Courtney would do everything to uphold her reputation. Really, it's the only reason she's married.
Idk how they'd get there but the main angst points would be Duncan finding out the kid is his and Courtney's husband eventually leaving. She'd probly have a s8 Bree Van De Kamp type arc. But some probably traumatic event would bring them back together and they live happy or smth
Aleheather would be the Carlos and Gaby equivalent. Without the cheating ofc. Alejandro wouldn't WANT anyone else and Heather tbh also wouldn't. No one likes her like Alejandro. Plus in desperate housewives Gabrielle's Gardner she has an affair with is UNDER AGE so yeah no.
But they'd definitely have similar fights and similar issues. Maybe they'd divorce for some petty reason, have a few days of trying to mess w each other before just getting back together. Instead of Alejandro going blind like Carlos does he would suffer similar injuries to the ones in the show (volcano robot suit incident) and sustain leg damage that would hinder him.
I don't have as much for them they just rlly remind me of Carlos and Gaby. Like yeah she'd push him out the window on impulse and then call 911
Also if u haven't seen desperate housewives (I highly recommend it's so good) a lot of this probly seems rlly dramatic n stuff but it is very much a drama mystery so it fits. Trust there have been some absolutely insane plots in that show.
Also if u wanna send asks pls do bc I kinda wanna explore this more. Or send ideas too could be cool :3

"I want you to love me
Like I'm a hot ride
Be thinking of me
Doing what you like~"
Only Girl (In The World) - Rihanna
Previous Next
--
"Yo! We're coming at you live from Camp Wawanawka, somewhere in Muskoka, Ontario." said a black-haired man, smiling into the camera.
"I'm your host, Chris McLean, dropping season one of the hottest new reality show on television right now!"
"Here's the deal," Chris said, walking across the dock. "Twenty-three campers have signed up to spend eight weeks right here at this crummy old summer camp. They'll compete in challenges against each other, then have to face the judgement of their fellow campers."
"Every three days, one team will either win a reward or watch one of their team members walk down the Dock of Shame, take a ride on the Loser Boat," Chris laughed. "And leave Total Drama Island for good."
The camera panned away to a campfire looking setting.
"Their fate will be decided here, at the dramatic campfire ceremonies, where each week, all but one camper will receive a marshmallow," Chris explained, eating one of the marshmallows. "In the end, only one will be left standing, and will be rewarded with cheesy tabloid fame and a small fortune, which let's face it, they'll probably blow in a week."
"To survive, they'll have to battle black flies, grizzly bears, disgusting camp food, and each other." Chris smirked. "Every moment will be caught on one of the hundreds of cameras situated all over the camp."
"Who will crumble under the pressure? Find out here, right now on Total Drama Island!"
--
Dear Mom and Dad, I'm doing fine
You guys are on my mind
You asked me what I wanted to be
And now I think the answer is plain to see
I wanna be famous
I wanna live close to the sun
Well pack your bags, 'cause I've already won
Nothing to do, nothing in my way
I'll get there one day
'Cause I wanna be famous
Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
I wanna be
I wanna be
I wanna be famous
I wanna be
I wanna be
I wanna be famous~
--
The camera pans to Chris, still standing on the dock.
"Welcome back to Total Drama Island! All right, it's time to meet our first eleven campers. We told them they'd all be staying at this five-star resort, so if they seem a little t-owed, that's probably why."
The camera panned over to a short girl with her brown hair in a braid, with glasses and braces.
"Beth, what's up?" Chris asked.
Beth ran and gave Chris a hug.
"It's so incredulous to meet you!" Beth exclaimed, getting off of Chris. "Wow, you're much shorter in real life."
"Uh, thanks," Chris said as Beth waved to the camera.
Another boat pulls up to the dock.
"DJ!" Chris called out.
A dark-skinned, muscular guy steps of the boat. He's wearing gray shorts, and a tight green shirt that really shows off his muscles.
"Yo! Chris McLain!" DJ said, high fiving Chris. "How's it going? Hey, you sure you got the right place here? Where's the hot tub at?"
"Yo dawg! This is it! Camp Wawanawkwa!" Chris smiled.
DJ frowned and picked up his bags, walking to the other end of the dock.
"Hm. Looked a lot different on the application form." he said.
"Hey Gwen!" Chris calls.
A pale skinned girl steps off the next boat. Her hair is dyed blue and black, and she's wearing a blue, green, and black corset/shirt, and blue and black shirt, black tights, and black boots.
She does not look happy.
"You mean we're staying here?" Gwen asked snarkily, looking around.
"No, you're staying here," Chris smiled. "My crib is an airstream with AC, that way." he pointed in the opposite direction.
"I did not sign up for this." Gwen angrily said.
"Actually, you did," Chris said, pulling out some paperwork.
Gwen pulled the forms out of Chris' hands and ripped them up and threw them in the lake.
"The great thing about lawyers is, they make lots of copies." Chris smiled, pulling out some more paperwork.
"I am not staying here." Gwen said, picking up her bags.
"Cool, I hope you can swim, though," Chris said. "Because you ride just left."
"Asshole!" Gwen spat.
The next guy to arrive is wearing a pink unbuttoned shirt that shows off his abs, jean shorts, and a large cowboy hat.
"Chris McLain!" the guy said, after doing a literal flip off the boat. "Sup man! It's an honor to meet you man!"
"The Geoffster!" Chris fist bumped him. "Welcome to the island man."
"Thanks man."
"If they say man one more time, I'm gonna puke," Gwen said.
"Everybody," Chris said. "This is Lindsay,"
The girl he was talking about had straight blonde hair, and was wearing a red and orange crop top, an orange miniskirt, brown boots, and a blue bandana.
"Not too shabby," Chris muttered to the camera.
"Hi!" Lindsay said. "Okay, you look so familiar."
"I'm Chris McLain," Chris explained.
Lindsay had a confused look on her face.
"The host of the show?"
"Oh, that's where I know you from," Lindsay smiled.
"Uh, yeah."
The next camper to arrive has long black hair, and is wearing a red crop top, green shorts, and aviator sunglasses.
She takes off the sunglasses and looks around, a look of disgust on her face.
"Heather," Chris says, as she walks right past him.
"Hi!" Beth says, running up to Heather. "Looks like we're your new friends for the next eight weeks!" she says, spitting all over a disgusted Heather.
The next boat to arrive is playing rock music. The guy to get off the boat has a green mohawk, piercings everywhere, a black skull shirt, jean shirts, and a spiked collar.
"Duncan, dude," Chris says.
"I don't like surprises," Duncan said, raising his fist.
"Yeah, your parole officer warned me about that man," Chris said. "Also told me to give him a holler anytime and have you returned to juvie."
"Okay then," Duncan said, walking off.
"Meet you by the campfire, gorgeous."
"Drop dead, you skeeze," Heather says is disgust. "I'm calling my parents. You cannot make me stay here."
Chris smiled and pulled out a copy of paperwork.
The next contestant to arrive was water skiing, the rods attached to the boat.
"Ladies and gentlemen, Tyler!" Chris exclaimed.
Tyler had brown hair and was wearing a red tracksuit with a matching red sweatband.
As soon as Chris stopped talking, the ski's fell from under Tyler and he flipped into the air before slamming down onto the dock, right into the pile of everyone's luggage.
One of the suitcases, fell into the water, creating a wave that splashed onto Heather.
"Ugh! My shoes!" Heather groaned.
"Wicked wipeout man!" Chris yelled.
Tyler only gave a thumbs up in response.
Chris snickers, before jumping as a loud exhale rings out.
"Welcome to camp, Harold," Chris says.
Harold looks scrawny, has ginger hair, glasses, and is wearing a blue shirt and green pants, while holding an electric keyboard.
The typical Napolean Dynamight type look.
Harold looked around, not saying a word.
"What's he looking at?" Beth asked.
DJ shrugged.
"So, you mean this show is at a crappy summer camp and not on some big stage or something?" Harold asked.
"You got it!" Chris said.
"Yes!" Harold exclaimed. "That is so much more favorable to my skills." he said, walking off.
Chris cringed as the next contestant arrived.
"Contestant number nine is Trent." Chris said, gesturing to Trent.
Trent has a black mullet and is wearing a green shirt with a green camouflage handprint, and black trousers, while carrying a guitar.
"Hey, good to meet you man," Trent smiles. "Saw you on that figure skating show. Nice work."
"Thanks man." Chris fist bumped him. "I knew I rocked that show!"
"I saw that!" Beth said, raising her hand. "One of the guys dropped his partner on her head. So, they got immunity that week."
"Lucky," Harold said. "I hope I get dropped on my head."
"Me too!" Lindsay said.
Trent looked around. "So this is it?" he asked.
The camera panned over to Heather squeezing the water out of her hair and Harold picking his nose.
"All righty then," Trent said, concern etched on his face.
Trent walked off and stood next to Gwen. He smiled at her, but she turned away, a scowl on her face. When Trent looked away though, Gwen had a small smile on her face.
The next contestant had her blonde hair in a ponytail, was wearing a blue hoodie, short jeans, and holding a surfboard.
"Hey, what's up?" the girl says as she gets off the boat, leaning on her surfboard.
"All right, our surfer chick Bridgette is here." Chris says.
"Nice board," Duncan scoffed. "This ain't Malibu, honey."
"I thought we were going to be on a beach." Bridgette said.
"We are," Chris said. The camera panning away to a gross looking beach with trash and weird green liquid.
"Great," Bridgette sighed.
"All right, that makes-" Chris started before getting in the head with Bridgette's surfboard. "Ow! Damn it! That hurt!"
Bridgette walked off, ignoring Chris' complaints.
"Hey guys," Bridgette says to the other campers.
"Hey, I'm Geoff."
"What's up?" Bridgette says, turning around, making everybody duck to avoid getting hit with the surfboard.
"Dang! Watch the board man!" Harold said.
"Hi! I'm Beth!"
Hey," Bridgette says, turning around again, almost smacking Trent, Duncan, and Harold.
"Okay, we've all met surfer girl, can we get on with the show, please?" Heather said, still squeezing the water out of her hair.
"Someone missed their double cappuccino macchiato this morning," Duncan smirked.
"Fuck off," Heather spits out.
The next camper to arrive is short with brown floppy hair, a frown on his face. He's wearing a white undershirt, a blue polo, a red vest, grey shorts, and lace up boots.
"Our next camper is Noah," Chris said, rubbing the spot on his head where he got hit.
"You got my memo about my life threating allergies?" Noah asked, walking past Chris.
"Sure someone did," Chris answered.
"Good. Is this where we're staying?" Noah asked, his face scrunching up in disgust.
"No, it's your mother's house, and we're throwing a party." Duncan said, cracking his knuckles.
"Cute. Nice piercings, original, do them yourself?" Noah asked sarcastically.
"Yeah, you want one, shithead?" Duncan asked, pulling on Noah's lip.
"No thanks, can I have my lip back please?" Duncan let go of Noah, smirking "Thanks,"
The next person to arrive is a curvy, dark-skinned, girl. She's wearing a yellow shirt and blue jeans, with her black hair pulled into a ponytail.
"What's up ya'll?" she calls from the boat. "Leshawna is in the house."
Harold gasped when he saw her.
"Yo baby. Hey, how you doing?" Leshawna said, stepping off the boat, giving Chris a high five. "How's it going?"
"Feel free to quit now and save yourselves the trouble, 'cause I came to win." she said, walking to where everybody else was on the dock.
"Oh, what's up my brother?" Leshawna said, high fiving DJ. "Give me some sugar, baby."
"I've never seen a girl like you in real life before," Harold said.
"Excuse me?" Leshawna asked, her eyebrow raised.
"You're real big, and loud."
"What did you say to me?" Leshawna said angrily. "Oh, no you did it. You have not seen anything yet. I'll show you big, baby.
Just as Leshawna was about to pounce on Harold, DJ and Bridgette ran to hold her back.
"Oh yeah, you want some of this?" Leshawna said, struggling against DJ and Bridgette. "Come on then!"
"All right campers!" Chris sternly said. "Settle down!"
Leshawna readjusted herself, glaring at Harold.
Harold smiled shyly in return.
The next two campers to arrive were dressed like twins, with the same haircuts as well. One was tall, skinny, and dark skinned, while the other was short, chubby, and pale. Both of them were wearing black and white striped shirts, and hot pink shorts.
"Ladies, Sadie, Katie, welcome to your new home for eight weeks," Chris said, gesturing towards the camp.
"Oh my gosh! Sadie look! It's a summer camp! Katie said.
"Okay, I always wanted to go to summer camp!" Sadie squealed, as the two of them ran down the dock.
The next camper to arrive was very pale. He was wearing a blue hat, a green hoodie, and blue joggers.
He looks like he doesn't get out much.
"Ezekiel. What's up man?" Chris asks.
Ezekiel looks up at the sky.
"I think I see a bird," he says, making Trent chuckle.
"Okay, look dude, I know you don't get out much," Chris says, his hand on Ezekiel's shoulder. "Been homeschooled your whole life, raised by freaky prairie people just don't say much and try not to get kicked off too early. Okay?"
"Yes sir," Ezekiel says, walking off.
"That's just...wow," Gwen says.
Next, comes a short scrawny kid. He's wearing a striped, yellow sweater and blue jeans.
"Cody. The Coadster. The Codmesiter!" Chis says, finger gunning him before high fiving him.
"Dude, psyched to be here, man," Cody said, walking off. "I see the ladies have already arrived. All right."
As he's about to say something to Leshawna, she puts her finger up to his lips, silencing him.
"Save it short stuff."
The next girl to arrive is very intimidating. She has her black tied into a ponytail, and is dressed in a blue tracksuit, showing off her muscles.
"Eva. Nice. Glad you could make it." Chris says.
Eva walks past him, ignoring him completely.
Cody holds his hand up for a high five, but instead gets his foot smashed by Eva's bag.
"Ow!" Cody says, holding his foot. "What's in there? Dumbbells?"
"Yes," Eva answers.
"She's all yours, man," Duncan says to DJ.
"Woohoo!" screams a voice, making Chris cringe.
The guy who screamed is a chubby guy with blonde hair, wearing a white shirt and green shorts. He has a big grin on his face.
"Chris! What's happening?" he laughs "This is awesome! Woohoo!"
"Owen!" Chris says. "Welcome!"
Owen picks up Chris in a giant bear hug.
"Awesome to be here man!" he says. "Yeah! Man, this is just so..."
"Awesome?" Gwen finishes, a smirk on her face.
"Yes! Awesome! Woo!" Owen exclaims. "Are you gonna be on my team?"
"Oh, I sure hope so," Gwen says sarcastically.
"Wooooooo!"
"You about finished?" Chris asks.
Owen puts him down, still grinning wildly.
"Sorry dude," he says. "I'm just so psyched!"
"Cool, and here comes Courtney."
Courtney steps off the boat, with help from Chris.
"Thank you," she says.
She has short brown hair, and is wearing white blouse, and tight green jeans.
"Hi! You must be the other contestants. It's really nice to meet you all."
""How's it going?" Owen says, grabbing Courtney's hand and shaking it. "I'm Owen!"
"Nice to meet you Ow-wow," Courtney says, distracted by the next contestant.
The next contestant had sculpted muscles and nice dark skin. He had black hair just barely covering his eyes and was wearing a tight green shirt and simple jeans.
Everyone on the dock was staring at him in awe. The girls and the guys, especially Owen.
When Justin smiled, Eva and Katie swooned while Sadie fainted.
"This is Justin," Chris said as Justin got off the boat. "Welcome to Total Drama Island."
"Thanks Chris, this is great." Justin said.
"Just so you know, we picked you based entirely on your looks."
"I can deal with that," Justin shrugged his shoulders.
"I like your pants!" Owen said.
"Thanks man," Justin said.
"Because they look like they're all worn out." Owen laughed. "Did you buy them like that?"
"Uh no, just had them for a while."
"Oh, cool," Owen gave a thumbs up before smacking himself in the face. "Stupid."
"Hey everyone," Chris said, getting everyone's attention. "Izzy."
Izzy had curly ginger colored hair and was wearing and a green crop top and a green skirt, that looked like it was made out of leaves.
"Hi Chris!" she exclaimed. "Hi-Oh!"
As she started to run off the boat, she tripped and hit her chin on the dock before falling into the water.
"Ooh," Tyler cringed. "That was bad."
"Guys, she could be seriously hurt," Courtney said, trying to pull Izzy up.
When Izzy got onto the dock, she shook the water off her like a dog.
"That felt...so...good! Except for hitting my chin. This is summer camp? That is so cool! Do you have paper mâché here? Are we having lunch soon?" Izzy ranted
"That is a good call!" Owen said, pointing at Izzy.
"Calm down," Chris said. "We still have one more camper to meet."
At that moment, a boat pulled up, and a H/C haired girl stepped onto the dock. She was wearing a black and white stripped long sleeve, a black skirt, red converses and had nose ring.
"Last but not least, we have Y/N!" Chris smiled.
Y/N looked around at the camp, a frown etching itself onto her face.
"Um, I thought we were going to be staying at a resort?" she asked in confusion.
"Can't believe you guys actually believed that," Chris chuckled.
"Is it too late to go home?" Y/N asked.
"If you like swimming, then no." Chris cheekily.
"Douchebag," Y/N muttered as she walked to the other side of the dock.
"Before we do anything, we need a group photo for the promos," Chris said. "Everyone on the end of the dock!"
Y/N walked over along with everyone else, her frown still on her face.
'Oh well, I'm already here,' she thought. 'Besides, all of this is for Dad.'
Y/N was between Duncan and Tyler. She gave both of them a small smile before smiling towards the camera and putting up a peace sign.
Chris hopped onto the boat, a camera in his hand.
"Okay, one, two, three,"
The camera clicked.
"Oops, okay, forgot the lens cap," Chris said.
Y/N blew some hair out of her face, already annoyed.
"Okay, hold that pose. One, two, no wait...card's full, hang on,"
"Come on man, my face is starting to freeze," Leshawna rolled her eyes.
"Got it!" Chris said. "Okay, everyone say 'Wawanawkwa!'"
"Wawanawkwa!" everyone said.
As if this were a movie, at the exact time, the dock gave out, plunging everyone in the water.
Y/N screamed as she felt the cold water hit her skin. She struggled to get above the water, throwing up her hand, hoping someone would help her.
As she was about to sink, a rough hand grabbed her and pulled her to the surface.
Y/N coughed and spluttered up water, the person still holding on to her as they both got to shore.
"Okay guys," Chris called out. "Dry off and meet at the campfire pit in ten."
"So far, this fucking blows," Y/N said, standing up.
"You're so real for that," Duncan says. "You alright?"
"Yeah," Y/N mutters. "Thanks for helping me."
"Don't mention it," Duncan shrugged, before a flirty grin came up on his face. "The names Duncan. I didn't catch your name, sweetheart."
"Maybe if you were paying attention, you would have caught it, Duncan," Y/N smirked, walking off. "I'll see you at the campfire."
--
"This is Camp Wawanawkwa," Chris explained to the campers sitting on trunks in front of him. "Your home for the next eight weeks."
Y/N was currently standing in in between Eva and Duncan.
"The campers sitting around you will be your cabin mates, your competition, and maybe even your friends, you dig?"
Y/N and Bridgette looked at each other, smiling.
"The camper who manages to stay on Total Drama Island the longest, without getting voted off will win one hundred thousand dollars!"
"Excuse me," Duncan said. "What will be the sleeping arrangements be? Because I'd like to request a bunk under her." Duncan said, pointing at Heather.
"They're not co-ed are they?" Heather asked, concern on her face.
Y/N elbowed Duncan hard in the ribs.
"No. Girls get one side of each cabin and dudes get the other." Chris said.
Heather sighed in relief.
"You are so gross," Y/N muttered.
"What? Jealous 'cause you wish it was you instead?" Duncan smirked.
Y/N elbowed him in the ribs again, harder this time.
"Excuse me, Kyle? Can I have a cabin with a lakeview since I'm the prettiest?" Lindsay asked, batting her eyelashes.
"Okay you are," Chris said, making Y/N and Duncan look at each other with their eyebrows raised. "But that's not really how it works here. And it's Chris."
"I have to live with Sadie, or I'll die," Katie said, holding onto Sadie's hand.
"And I'll break out in hives, it's true," Sadie whined.
Y/N tried to contain her giggles by covering her hand with her mouth.
"This cannot be happening," Gwen sulked.
"Oh, come on guys!" Owen said, grabbing onto Gwen and Tyler. "It'll be fun! It's like a big sleepover!"
"Yeah, with people who I would never want to be around in public," Y/N muttered.
"Here's the deal," Chris said. "We're gonna split you into two teams, when I call your name out, go stand over there," he finished, pointing to the left of the campfire area.
"Gwen, Trent, Heather, Cody, Lindsay, Beth, Katie, Owen, Leshawna, Justin, and Noah. From this moment on, you are officially known as The Screaming Gophers!" he said, throwing the team a dirty green banner.
"Yeah!" Owen exclaimed. "I'm a gopher! Woooo!"
"Wait, what about Sadie?" Katie whined.
"The rest of you, over here," Chris said, pointing to the right.
"Geoff, Bridgette, DJ, Tyler, Sadie, Izzy, Courtney, Ezekiel, Duncan, Eva, Harold, and Y/N. Move! Move! Move! Move!"
"Can't this guy have a little bit of patience," Y/N mumbled.
"Clearly not," Bridgette giggled.
"Excuse me?" Heather raised her hand. "How come they get an extra player?"
"Because I'm the host and I get to make the rules," Chris laughed.
"Ugh, whatever," Heather scoffed, giving Y/N a dirty look
Y/N gave one back.
"But Katie's a gopher!" Sadie whined. "I have to be a gopher!"
"Sadie, is it?" Courtney said. "Come on, it'll be okay."
"This is so unfair!" Sadie cried as Courtney walked her away. "I miss you, Katie!"
"I miss you too!" Katie cried.
"You guys will be officially known as The Killer Bass!" Chris said, throwing them an identical red banner.
"Awesome," Harold said. "It's like, amazing."
"It's so amazing," Y/N sarcastically said, making Courtney glare at her for whatever reason.
"Alright camper," Chris cleared his throat. "You and your team will be on camera in all public areas during this competition."
~Confessionals~
"You will also be able to share your innermost thoughts on tape, with video diaries anytime you want," Chris said, sitting in an outhouse, flies buzzing around him. "Let the audience at home know what you're really thinking. Or just get something off your chest."
-
~Confessionals~
"Um, okay, so far this stinks," Gwen said.
-
~Confessionals~
"I don't get it," Lindsay said, facing away from the camera. "Where's the camera guy?"
-
~Confessionals~
"Hey everyone, check this out," Owen said very seriously. "I have something very important to say."
Owen then farted, a sly smile on his face before he started laughing.
-
~Confessionals~ "So far, only like two people look reliable," Y/N said, covering her nose, "And oh my lord, what died in here?"
-
"All right, any questions?" Chris asked. "Cool. Let's find your cabins. Gopher's, you're in the east cabin, Bass, you're in the west." Chris said, gesturing to the cabins in the distance.
Y/N grabbed her luggage and started walking over to the cabin.
"Hey, you're Y/N, right?" Bridgette said catching up to her.
"Yup, that's me," Y/N smiled.
"Cool. I'm Bridgette," Bridgette smiled back. "I really like your nose ring."
"Thanks," Y/N said, as they reached the girls part of the cabin. "You wanna bunk with me?"
"Sure," Bridgette answered. "You want top or bottom?"
"You pick first," Y/Nsaid. "I don't care which one I get."
"Okay, if you're sure," Bridgette shrugged before picking the top bunk.
"Excuse me, Chris?" Y/N heard Geoff call out. "Is there a chaperone of any kind in this facility?"
"You're all sixteen years old," Chris said. "As old as a counselor in training at a regular summer camp. So, other than myself, you'll be unsupervised. You've got half an hour to unpack and meet me back at the main lodge, starting now!"
Suddenly, Y/N heard a loud shriek coming from the Gopher's cabin, making you and Bridgette look at each other.
"What the hell was that?" Y/N asked.
"I don't know," Bridgette answered. "Let's go check it out."
Y/N and Bridgette walked over to the cabin, peeking your heads in, along with Tyler, Gwen, DJ, Duncan, Harold, Heather, and Leshawna.
"Damn, that white girl can scream." Leshawna said.
Peeking in, Y/N saw that Lindsay was the one screaming. She was standing on a stool, in front of her, was a tiny little cockroach.
"Are you serious?" Y/N asked, dumbfounded.
"What is it!?" Lindsay asked. "Kill it! Kill it!"
The bug started to move around, making DJ squeal like a girl and jump onto one of the beds.
"That was my bed," Gwen groaned.
Everybody started screaming and jumping onto objects, trying to avoid the cockroach.
"It's just a tiny cockroach!" Y/N grumbled. "You guys are acting like a bunch of pussies."
Suddenly, Duncan walked through the door, carrying an axe.
Y/N swore the heard the cockroach saying 'Help me' before Duncan brought the axe down on it.
"You know, stepping on it would have worked to," Y/N said.
"Then why didn't you do it?" Duncan asked, smirking.
"Didn't wanna get cockroach guts on my shoe."
"If you ever see one of those again, just let me know, kay?" Tyler said to Lindsay. "Cause, you know, I could do that too,"
"They always go for the jocks," Duncan scoffed.
"What? Jealous that it's not you?" Y/N mocked his earlier statement, walking out of the cabin.
"Y'know, you still haven't told me your name, sweetheart," Duncan said, catching up to her.
"Chris literally said it earlier when he was making the teams," Y/N laughed. "Not my fault, you're dumb as sand."
"Ow! You hit right where it hurt!" Duncan said, holding onto his chest.
Y/N giggled. "Tell you what, I'll tell you my name at the end of the first challenge. Deal?"
"Why you waiting until then?" Duncan asked, the two of them now standing on their cabin porch.
"Just to make you wait," Y/N smirked. "Now if you don't mind, I'm gonna finish unpacking my stuff."
--
"Listen up!" a voice rang out through the mess hall. "I serve it three times a day, and you will eat it three times a day!"
"Grab a tray, get your food, and sit you butt's down NOW!"
"This guy is seriously crazy," Y/N whispered to Duncan.
"Seriously," he whispered back, as the line in front of them started to move.
"Um, what exactly is this?" Y/N asked, grabbing her tray. "There's not any wheat in here is there? 'Cause I'm really allergic to wheat."
"I don't think it's gonna be that much a problem, sweetheart," Duncan muttered, also grabbing his tray.
"What did you say!?" Chef yelled.
"Nothing sir!" Duncan said, before him and Isabell quickly sat down at one of the tables.
"Sheesh, you're gonna die before the show even begins," Y/N laughed, poking at her food.
"Dying would be better than eating whatever this is," Duncan said, taking a bit then immediately spitting it back out.
"Welcome to the main lodge!" Chris said, walking in.
"Yo, my man," Geoff said from right next to Y/N. "Can we order a pizza?"
Y/N barely had time to react before a butcher knife was thrown right in between her and Geoff's head. Isabell's eyes widened in fear.
"Woah! It's cool G!" Geoff panicked. "Brown slop is cool!"
"Seems like you're gonna be the one dying before the show starts," Duncan muttered.
"Go fuck yourself," Y/N muttered.
"Your first challenge begins in one hour!" Chris said, walking back out of the lodge.
"What do think they'll make us do?" Katie asked.
"It's our first challenge, how hard could it be?" DJ answered.
--
At the top of a thousand-foot cliff, was Y/N and the rest of the contestants, all dressed in their swimsuits.
"Holy fucking shit," Y/N said, looking down into the water.

Chapter Nine: Wilderness Survival Camp (Again?)
Tumblr media
Nine years ago
Duncan's dad called his son down to the living room. The boy walked down carefully, his head was bowed, and his body was tense. Duncan noticed his mother, makeup covering the bruises on her face, her posture painfully straight sitting on the couch beside his father. "Pack your bags, your going to a wilderness survival school in Canada. I expect you back as a man, not a boy." The stern man ordered his son.
Duncan felt his body tense. What about Y/N, he wanted to ask. She hated being away from home, because Duncan already knew that she would be coming along too. Duncan's father and your father were best friends. So anything he had to do, you did as well.
"May I be excused... sir?" Duncan said albeit reluctantly.
Duncan's father nodded and Duncan strolled out the door turning into a running pace the second the door shut. You were right across the street and so when he knocked on your door, he was surprised to see you standing there ready to open it.
"I don't want to go." She whispered her body shaking with anxiety from her spot in the treehouse.. "My dad can't handle being alone for that long." She explained staring at her hands. Her mother had died when she was young and so her father was constantly in a depressive state. Y/N had to take care of him.
"He'll be fine." Duncan assured her, scooching closer to his friend.
Two years later
Duncan's father and Y/N's father were picking the two of you up. What they saw was not at all what they were expecting. Duncan wore a pair of black shorts, and a tank top that had the camps logo on it. His hair was partially dyed green, and his eyes were dark and cloudy as if he had been through a war, he had the posture of a soldier, and his body was still.
But when Y/N's father turned to see the girl next to the boy he was horrified. That was not his little girl. This girl had hair that had been partially dyed green at the very tips of her hair, she wore a sweatshirt that looked as if it was Duncan's, and her eyes were emotionless, the eight-year-old who loved to laugh was now a ten-year-old who showed nothing. Duncan had his hand entwined with yours, as if you were the only thing keeping him steady.
What had he done...?
The next month was terrifying for Y/N's father. His daughter woke up screaming in the middle of the night but the second he came to take care of you, he saw a green haired boy laying next to you in your bed whispering stories.
One day, Duncan's mother had invited you both to visit the beach with her and Duncan. She was worried about her son too, but couldn't voice her opinion to her husband in fear of harm to her or her son.
Duncan wore a sweater until he had arrived at the beach and his mother chatsied him, saying he was not going to get the sweater dirty. Duncan raised the shirt above his head and his back and front were littered with scars and bruises. It was horrifying.
Miles stared at his daughter from in the car. They had just arrived at the beach and she still hadn't tooken off the sweater. Once he pulled into the parking space, she had dissapeared going off to find Duncan.
Miles followed her, but stayed a respectful distance. Duncan's mother, Lilly gave the young girl a look which clearly meant take off the sweater.
Miles couldn't tear his eyes off of Duncan, it was terrible, the boy was beaten and bruised. But it wasn't from his father, not this time. It was from the camp. Duncan was way too skinny for his age... then Y/N took off her sweater.
Large jagged scars ran down your back, he could see your ribs through your swimsuit, bruises danced on your collarbone as if they were painting some horrible piece of art.
What had he done?
----
Chris had you all gathered in the pavilion. "Campers, today's challenge will test your outdoor survival skills. I'm not going to lie to you, some of you might not make it back alive." You snorted from your spot on the bench by Courtney. Duncan playfully hit your shoulder in a sign of 'Shut up.'
"Just kidding. All you need to do is spend one night in the forest. Everything you guys need is at your campsite in the forest." Chris explained. "You just need to find it." Chris said laughing as he threw some objects to certain people. You let Duncan catch it because you were horrible at directions.
"Oh and watch out for bears, we lost a few interns in preproduction." Chis warned. Man, these poor interns.
"First team back by breakfast earns invincibility." Chris ordered as Courtney snatched the compass out of Duncan's hands shooting him a glare. Chris blew the god awful airhorn signaling it was time to get moving.
Your team began treking through the woods, Courtney leading. "You know this reminds me of our- I wanna say fourth week- at WSC, when that one teacher lady had us climb that huge tree because there was water bottles at the top and if no one climbed it we wouldn't get water, but in the end I ended up rigging an engine to your knife and we cut it down with everyone on it still." Duncan laughed and you burst into giggles. "Oh she was so pissed remember. But we still got to drink." You choked out between giggles.
"You know the fact she had you do that just for water ain't okay right?" DJ said looked at you both concerned.
"It's how we were raised." Duncan shrugged.
It was around nightime and Bridgette and Geoff had just set up the tent, there was a fire going, and DJ had just returned with a rabbit in his hands. "You know I've never had rabbit stew before." You commented trying to think of what you were going to use to clean your knife after killing the bunny. "I'm game." Duncan commented.
"You are both horrible. This is my new pet, I'm naming him bunny." DJ gasped. DJ had only grabbed the bunny because he didn't want to kill ANY animal, even to eat. You patted the big mans shoulder. "How does it feel being a fucking puss-" You about said before Duncan put a hand around your mouth. You glared at him only to make him laugh.
"You couldn't find any food?" Courtney whined. "Guess we'll be eating grubs and berries for dinner." She sighed. "Has anyone seen tweedle-dum and tweedle-idiot?" Duncan said suddenly. You looked around the camp trying to find Sadie and Katie but to no avail.
You all shrugged your shoulders. "They'll be fine." Courtney laughed and you all sat down around the fire.
An owl hoo'ed causing Bridgette to cringe with anxiety. "Be cool it's just an owl." DJ smiled kindly as he pet his new bunny. "I'm going to shoot it." Duncan smiled as he aimed his gun at the sky trying to find where the sound came from. "You realize you suck at shooting in the dark right. We've established this four years ago." You groaned. He rolled his eyes before sitting back down.
"Sorry, I just get really freaked out in the forest." Bridgette hugged her legs to her chest. "This reminds me of this really scary story I heard once." Duncan said calmly. "Awesome man, tell it." Geoff encouraged.
"Are you sure? The story I'm thinking of is pretty hard core." Duncan warned. "Ooh we're so scared." Courtney said sarcastically. "Alright, but don't say I didn't warn you." Duncan smirked and you had to bite the inside of your cheek to stop yourself from laughing.
"One night, a lot like this one." and so the story began. But this wasn't the story you rememebered. This was the story that had freaked you out when you were around nine and had began bawling at camp.
"So suddenly, they heard this tap, tap, tapping on the side of the car." The night progressed and you felt anxiety clawing at the pit of your stomach. "The girls started to freak out and by this time even the guy was getting a bit scared." Duncan had everyone waiting at the edge of their seats.
"So he turned the car on and stepped on it. When they got back to the girls house, she opened the door and screamed, because there, hanging from the door handle... was the blood hook!" Your heart was beating at a mile per minute now. "They say that this killer is still alive, wandering these very woods. He could be just around anywhere really... maybe even right here!" Duncan held up his 'hook hand' and you felt your heart stop.
Your fellow cabin mates screamed and so did you. Duncan was laughing his ass off. "I love making you scared, scorpion." He smirked grabbing your wrist to pull you closer towards him as he wrapped his arms around your waist. Courtney began to berate Duncan. "You are so vile! That was so not funny." She yelled putting her hands on her hips. "Oh yes it was. I just wish it was all on camera. Oh wait-" Duncan smiled pointing at the camera-man who waved cheerfully.
"No wonder your father hates you." You laughed putting a hand on your hip. "No wonder your mom died." Duncan retorted sticking his tongue out. Suddenly there was a howl from a nearby back and you stiffened.
Seven years ago
Duncan had just came back from searching for food. The camp you had been sent to had this new game. Once a month they would have you all pair up, and they'd send you into the woods without any supplies in the middle of nowhere. Whoever survived the longest would get food for a week.
Naturally, you and Duncan paired up always. You switched jobs each months, this time it was your turn to set up shelter, and he'd hunt.
You had started a fire with your earrings which Duncan had made for you, one was made of flint, the other steel. You both were nervous that night because wolves had been spotted by other teams and they had warned you.
That night as the fire roared the wolves circled your mini-shelter. They stole your food, and spilled your water source. Duncan had tried to shoot them but they had clawed him up as a way of protecting themselves. You finally had gotten the wolves away when Duncan set a stick on fire and threw it at one of the wolves. You followed and began to do the same.
When the wolves left. Duncan looked at you. Your arms were burned badly, there was claw marks on your neck that were actively bleeding. You looked at Duncan his hands were burned, his clothes were a dark red, and his face was scratched up. He then promptly passed out from blood loss.
It was terrifying. Duncan's heartbeat stopped twice that night and you had to bring him back to life.
You were nine.
You instinctively huddled close to Duncan, and his arms wrapped around you quickly. "Sorry darling." He muttered but you were more focused on searching the woods surrounding you with your eyes. "Scare me again, Tarun and I'll break you nose." You threatened and if it had been anyone else Duncan might've believed you. But you promised him you'd never hurt him. Geoff gave him a thumbs up.
You all had settled in, in your tent. Duncan and you were fast asleep which surprised your fellow teamates. Duncan had his arm around you pulling you closer towards him, you had your face nuzzled in his side. Courtney took a picture of you both as blackmail to use against Duncan.
Then Bridgette set the tent on fire.
You know, the usual.
When you and Duncan woke up the tent was gone. "I think maybe we're bad luck." You muttered tiredly. "Oh for sure." Duncan laughed quietly as he rubbed his eyes. He groaned because he heard Miss Smartass yelling at the surfer chick. But you had sat up before he could come to the blondes rescue. "Will you relax, Drama Queen? It's cool." You mumbled rubbing your eyes.
"It's cool? It's cool?! Things could not possibly get worse." Courtney shrieked at you and you had to resist the urge to giggle.
Fucking rich kids.
Then it started to rain and Duncan burst out laughing as Courtney screamed in indignation.
You had all fallen asleep in the rain. But when you woke up it was sunny again... and you had fallen asleep on your best friend...
You see all the other times when people saw you guys sleeping, you were asleep with each other. So people thought it was normal for you. But it wasn't. Actually quite the opposite. You guys just migrated near each other in your sleep.
"Hey sunshine." Duncan's morning voice croaked out too you and you groaned. "We gotta stop meeting like this." You laughed tiredly. "You were cuddling me." He teased. "I was calming sleeping and just because your like a radiator my body moved closer to you." You muttered. "You were snuggling up to me." Duncan teased again causing you to blush. "You are such an ogre." You hissed hitting your head against his chest.
It was whatever for you guys at this point, you had been caught in loads of compromising situations.
"I've been called worse." Duncan shrugged putting his head back down on the grass and putting a hand on your waist. You both basically had chosen to accept that you were touchy together sometimes.
It didn't bother you or him. Because it didn't mean anything.
Right?
---
You stared at the camera in the outhouse with a mild glare. "No I am not in love with my best friend stop fucking asking me, Lucas." You told the camera man who chuckled nervously.
----
Your team was the first ones back to see Chris. But apparently since you didn't have dumb and dumber you guys didn't win. "Those idiots." Duncan said aloud before he turned his head to see you holding a knife staring at it. "Imma take that away." He warned grabbing the object from your hand causing you to grumble.
"Oh, you mean Katie and Sadie? I'm pretty sure they got eaten by wolves last night." Courtney lied smoothly with a nonchalant expression. "Darn shame." Duncan said shaking his head in mock-regret. "We'll miss them." You continued with a sad smile.
Suddenly the two girls came running back.
"FUCKING STAY AWAY IF YOUR GONNA LEAVE. WE WERE GOING GET AWAY WITH THIS-" Duncan had to stop you from jumping on the two girls.
Luckily, Courtney started screaming at them for you.
"See you at the campfire." Chris said cheefully as he told the gophers what they won.
That night at the campfire Chris began his speech. "You've all cast your votes. The camper that does not recieve a mashmallow must immediately hit the dock of shame, catch the boat of losers and get the heck of out here and you can't come back... ever..." Chris warned.
"Now, I can see you're all tired, so tonight, I'll throw your mashmallows to you." and so it began. Chris started throwing the marshmallows and he got yours into your mouth first try which caused him to whoop.
"She's my new favorite." He yelled as he tried to throw another one into your mouth...
making it.
again.
"Can she just win the competition now?" Chris asked the camera man who shook his head 'no'. Chris cursed. Finally he got down to Sadie and Katie, telling them that only one of them would stay.
"Sadie." He said.
The twins began to sob, and wail, and scream, and pout, and holy shit you did not want children.
The girls had their tearful goodbye on the dock which took twenty god damn minutes.
--
-In your imagination-
"Imagine going home." Duncan laughed at you as he gave you a hug. "Bye asshat." You flipped him off as you got onto the boat.
