Some experts have predicted that with the rise of AI, 90 percent of the internet's content will be 'synthetically generated' in a few years--and I don't understand how anyone can feel optimistic about the future.
Another thing that's horrible about the rise of AI is that you can't just post things online anymore and let them speak for themselves-- you now have to constantly post about your Process and Yourself as a Person. If a machine can generate soulless empty hollow products that look similar to the art you create, you have to constantly post about how you're a human being and explain why you draw the things the way you do, and discuss the meaning and intent behind your work. It's not enough to make a painting, and let people naturally intuit how you think and feel through the emotions you express in it-- you need to write a long-winded explanation of why you should follow a human being painting something out of sincere emotion instead of a machine producing hollow synthetic algorithmic sludge that imitates it. It's infuriating and horrifying. I hate how people are pressured to commodify every aspect of their life and personality to post online, because your existence as a human being is the only thing that can't yet be automated and turned into a product. AI generated imagery is a disease. It's the absolute pinnacle of the idea that 'art is just product' and of the cynical condescending belief that most people are just incurious unempathetic morons who just want to Consume Products without thinking.

How would a 2003 version of the plot from Issues 24 - 26 of Mirage Vol 1 work, anyway? I imagine the two main reasons why the plot never made it into the animated series (besides, you know, Bloodsucker's entire concept as a character) was because
All TMNT characters and stories created by Rick Veitch (the writer and illustrator for The River trilogy) are presently in legal limbo, as he refused to sign retroactive work-for-hire contracts for his TMNT works; it's why none of his stories for the Mirage comics have ever been reprinted over at IDW
Because of the above legal issues, The River trilogy, along with most of the other stories from the Guest Era that are in a similar situation, are considered to be non-canon to the Mirage continuity. Peter Laird did later clarify on his blog in 2016 that Down to the River, River Hymn, and Old Man River do all fit well into the original Mirage canon, although he also noted that it is merely his opinion on the matter.
Damn it though, now I'm really annoyed that a retro mutation plot with Raphael never did make it into the 2003 series. It would have been really interesting to see Raphael put in such a vulnerable position due to his transformation, and it also would have been an excellent contrast to Don's double mutation plot from S4 (I mean the reason why Don was picked to be infected with the Outbreak mutagen was because him becoming a violent monster was so unexpected of his character. Who would expect Raphael, the most aggressive of his brothers who is always ready for a fight, to change into a tiny, seemingly helpless turtle?)
(Edit: Made some minor corrections to clarify that it is very much the legal status of The River trilogy that prevents it and other Guest Era issues from being considered canon to the Mirage continuity. )

so my workflow for illustrations used to be put down some lines that are approximately good-->put down colors-->merge those two into a single file and go ham painting over the lines with the colors in a hard edged brush based on vibes til i like it/it was "rendered enough". which looked good enough but was extremely time consuming and inconsistent!!! (see: my fe3h tarot cards, for an example)
so lately ive been trying to reign that instinct in and just do linework that i like and then a pretty flat mostly unrendered style for the finished product. rendering was my least favorite part and i usually got too in the weeds about it/the results could be pretty inconsistent, so ive just been experimenting with my matsuri prints.
These were finished in the reverse order that theyre arranged here fwiw... i have been wondering if "ink" prints would be st people would be interested in

Dude I don’t know where you’re getting this information that 13-14 guys can’t be tall at all. Literally every guy in my freshman high school grade (13-15 year olds) were all 5’6-6’0 at the beginning of the school year and they were all actively growing taller as the year went by. Letting people think Nico is average height or tall is not hurting nobody and you are still entitled to your opinion that Nico can be short. I believe all of Nico’s of various heights can coexist peacefully.
I did say "average" height and was only referring to the fact that Nico's canon height is never explicitly stated. Anyways allow me to rephrase:
my grievances only lie with the wiki for being baselessly wrong. tall nico headcanoners i have no beef with you understand i am simply being silly goofy on my blog mwah mwah

I don't know why I was thinking about this but I got wondering about those silly little fandom things like what kind of dog would represent certain characters for Spy x Family, and like...
Loid and Anya are kind of obvious. Anya's something small and cute with stubby legs, like a chihuahua or a dachshund. Maybe a pomeranian. And Loid is one of those working dogs who can be highly trained but are also incredibly protective, like a German shepherd or a malinois.
But Yor...
If Yor and, by extension, Yuri are anything other than "husky/shepherd mixes" that were found abandoned on the side of the road by a well-meaning yet clueless individual who didn't know enough about dogs to realize they accidentally domesticated two wolf pups... Then I don't know what we're doing here

Gotta tell ya, as someone who grew up drawing shit from anime realising I could draw stuff that wasn't people fucking shattered my entire world view.
Me: I like to draw but I don't like drawing people... I guess I won't draw anymore.
Artists:... Have you considered, drawing things other than people.
Me:.... You can do that?!
I loved drawing scenery and backgrounds, buildings, clothes etc it did not occur to me for so long that I could just... Do that.
And find ways to still incorporate that into fandom stuff.
Anyway this is my own personal psa to let myself draw shit again.
