We have missed seeing our volunteers so much throughout this year but hope everyone has stayed healthy and safe!  Our dedicated volunteers are the reason our events are so successful and we know it will be no different this year for the beloved holiday fundraiser, Journey to the North Pole™. Sign-ups for the magical event in both North Conway and Lincoln are open and you will notice a few changes. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a number of adjustments were necessary to ensure safety for all of our guests and volunteers.  One of the most noticeable changes made has been in regards to the chefs on board the train.  We have had to reduce the number of chefs on the train so we will not be offering volunteer sign-ups for those positions.  The reason for this change is that hot chocolate will not be served on the train this year.  We apologize to those who volunteer as chefs for us each and every year but hope you understand that this change was necessary. One of the other changes you will notice is that there are two types of elf positions to choose from, either a Guide Elf or a Stage Elf! Guide Elves play an extremely important role as well as they get to greet visitors from the train and guide them through the North Pole.  Guests are going to be separated into smaller groups this year to help maintain social distancing so Guide Elves will be essential in keeping the groups together throughout the event!   Stage elves get to bring Santa’s Workshop to life by making toys, singing songs, and dancing!   If you have any questions about volunteering for Journey to the North Pole™, please reach out to Katie Young at katie@believeinbooks.org or feel free to call our office at 603-356-9980.  We are looking forward to seeing you this holiday season!

Dear Everyone,

I know that many people don’t trust donation requests. I’ve been there too, and I understand why. Many times, we hear about scams and false requests, which makes it hard to trust someone asking for help.

Volunteers Needed!

Are you interested in an amazing volunteering opportunity? Believe in Books Literacy Foundation has a fun-filled event open for volunteers! On Sunday, June 13th BIBLF is hosting the Kids’ Fun Run!  Typically held each year at Story Land, the 2021 event will be held here in the 100-Acre Wood!  This means the race will be slightly different than previous years’ events.  Having the race in the 100-Acre Wood will help increase safety and social distancing but will also require the need for a few more volunteers! Volunteers can either choose to help out with registration, greet our guests as they pull into the property, assist as a parking attendant, or cheer and guide our racers on course!  Volunteers are asked to arrive around 8:00 am on Sunday, June 13th and will be needed until the end of race. Volunteers will receive an event t-shirt and a ticket to Story Land for that day!
