Preparing Herbal Concoctions 🌿✨
Hello darlings 🥰
Today, let's delve into the enchanting world of herbal magic and explore the difference between two essential methods of preparing herbal concoctions: diffusions and decoctions. 🌸✨
🌿 Diffusions 🌿
🍃 A diffusion is a simple yet powerful way of extracting the essence of delicate plant materials like flowers and leaves. Here's how it works:
Ingredients: Choose your desired dried herbs or flowers, like calming lavender or uplifting chamomile.
Preparation: Boil water and let it cool for a minute. Place your herbs in a heat-safe container, like a teapot or a mug.
Infusion: Pour the hot water over the herbs and cover the container to let the flavors infuse. Allow it to steep for about 5 to 10 minutes.
Strain and Sip: Once the infusion is ready, strain out the plant material, and your delightful herbal tea is ready to be sipped and savored!
🍵 Magical Properties: Diffusions are excellent for invoking the gentle energies of flowers and herbs. They are often used for relaxation, enhancing dreamwork, promoting focus, or simply enjoying a calming moment in your day.
🌿 Decoctions 🌿
🍂 Decoctions, on the other hand, are perfect for extracting the essence of hardy plant parts like roots, barks, and seeds. Follow these steps to create a grounding decoction:
Ingredients: Select your preferred dried roots, like protective ginger or grounding valerian.
Boiling Process: Place your chosen plant material in a pot with cold water. Slowly bring it to a gentle simmer.
Simmering Time: Let the mixture simmer for around 20 to 30 minutes, allowing the water to absorb the earthy essences.
Strain and Harness: Remove the plant material, and your potent herbal decoction is now ready to be harnessed for your magical purposes.
🍂 Magical Properties: Decoctions are renowned for their strong, earthy energies. They are often used for grounding, protection, banishing, and adding strength to your spellwork.

Both diffusions and decoctions hold an array of enchanting properties that can enhance your magical practice. Feel free to experiment with various herbs and blends, and remember that your intuition will guide you to the perfect concoctions for your craft. 🌟✨
May your herbal magic be ever fruitful and filled with wonder! 🌿🌙

My spell oils are a lot like me, born in the new world and but still living in the old. I did a 5 year self study specifically in the pharmacopoeia of American folk magic (which encompasses many distinct cultures and traditions that make up this living tradition), as well as some research in traditional African religions and diasporic practices in the south in college, which was hugely influential in my approach to magical herbalism. My main background has always been in western herbalism, specifically the plants native to Europe and the British Isles. Working with plants in an animistic way, and incorporating correspondences from western occult traditions and modern witchcraft, I created these spell oils a couple of years ago. Some of them are classic hoodoo formulas, and others are more modern witchcraft formulas. They are now in new and larger bottles. Flying Devil is one of the most popular formulas. It’s used for getting rid of unwanted people and influences. It is a fiery formula that can shake up any situation. #spelloils #magickoil #herbalwitchcraft #herbalmagick #witchcraftformulas #plantmagick #greenwitchcraft #flyingdeviloil #ritualoil #witchcraft #witchcraftspells #folkmagic #folkwitchcraft #folkwitch https://www.instagram.com/p/CXR-jCOr47K/?utm_medium=tumblr
