On a snowy day, Daryl's daughter tells him about an interesting conversation between you and Aunt Maggie, but Marley ends up spilling the beans to Carol too about her daddy's worst fear.

The whole street, the whole block, all of Alexandria is covered in snow, painting the world of the living white after being blood red for so many years. The green of the leaves has disappeared under the cold season, snowmen on every house as a reminder of the past. Snowflakes sway in a gentle dance in the evening breeze, under a sky that changes color with the passing of the hours.

On her way back home, holding her daddy’s hand, Marley’s little world seems infinite at 5 and a half years old. Her winter boots sink into the snow, lifting it slightly with each step she takes. Her brown hair is identical to her father’s, a little messy under her white wool hat.

“The shot still hurt, angel?” Daryl has to look down to meet his daughter’s gaze, blue eyes looking back at him, deeply. “Ya want daddy to carry ya the rest of the way?”

Marley nods, because the walk back from visiting her mom in the infirmary was too long for her little legs.

“Please, daddy.”

Daryl smiles as his ears fill with the tender, sweet voice of his daughter calling him daddy, a voice he learned to recognize ever since Marley said her first word. He has to bend down to pick her up, holding her against his chest as she hugs him close, his forearms beneath her, her small arms around his neck.

“Why are ya so cute, huh?” Daryl is still smiling as he sets off again for the walk home. “Ya do that on purpose, don’ ya? Is that yer master evil plan? To make daddy love ya so much he can’t breathe?”

Marley laughs, her gaze locked with her father's eyes, the corners of her lip curling into a smile as she continues to learn to understand the depth of her Daddy's love, but before she can respond, a neighbor's wave from her front porch forces them both to look to the right.

Daryl lets out a small hey back without stopping, followed by a nod before turning back to his daughter, but Marley’s eyes are still on the woman they leave behind.

“Sweetheart…” He uses his arms under her body to rock her once, softly, getting her to look back in his direction. “What’s wrong, angel?”

Marley holds a thoughtful expression, her brow furrowing slightly with the seriousness of her little thoughts at her short 5 years old. But Daryl can’t help but smile, because that expression is identical to yours when you both didn’t like something.

“Aunt Maggie told mommy that Mrs. Ellie likes to stare at you too much when you leave the house in your sleeveless shirt in the summer. She said the neighbor was a female version of a dog, but I don’t know what that means, daddy.”

Hearing her words, Daryl has to make an enormous effort not to laugh.

“Mommy said that? Or was it Aunt Maggie?”

“Aunt Maggie...” Marley tilts her head to the side, still thoughtful. “But Mommy said we needed to get you some baggy clothes, or burn that shirt, or maybe just get rid of the neighbor, but I don’t know what that means either.”

It’s hilarious for Daryl at the new information, though he does his best to remain cool, but there’s also something daring in your words, a compliment to his body even though he wore those clothes without a thought for others. Well, he knew he did it to get your attention, but not the rest of the world’s. Daryl also knew that kids didn’t know how to keep secrets, no matter if they knew or not that some things weren’t supposed to be said.

And he can’t help but smile.

“Oh yeah? An’ what else mommy said ‘bout daddy, Marley?”

Marley’s expression changes as in her mind, she starts putting the words mommy and daddy together.

“Mommy told Aunt Maggie that you are still very hot, like living forever on a summer day.” Daryl chuckles as does his daughter, having a blast with your unfiltered words, though he also knew that he had to teach his child later that listening to adult conversations was wrong. “Is that a good thing, daddy?”

“Well… that means mommy finds daddy attractive.”

Marley nods slightly.

“So you are handsome, because you are.” She smiles, because to her, Daddy is the most handsome man in the community. Daryl shakes his head, because his reserved personality still prevented him from seeing himself the way others did. “Mommy said she really likes your long hair.”

The corner of his lip curls into a smile, loving the way Marley’s small hands brush away the strands of hair that usually cover part of his eyes.

“Maybe Daddy should tell Mommy that he really likes her too.”

Marley lets out a sweet laugh, hugging his neck again.

“You stare at Mommy a lot, Daddy. Last week at Uncle Rick’s house, he told his wife that you couldn’t take your eyes off your wife.”

Even in the dead of winter, Daryl can feel the sudden warmth on his cheeks, spreading throughout his body as he climbs the steps of his front porch, walking over to the rocking chair in the corner to sit in it with Marley on his lap, her little legs swinging out on either side.

“Yeah, daddy likes to look at mommy a lot, angel, and s'cause mommy is a pretty thing to look at.”

Marley thinks for a few seconds, trying to understand such simple words that at the same time hide a deep meaning.

“The love you and mommy have for me, is it the same as yours for mommy?”

Daryl has to think about his answer for a few seconds, trying to explain with words that his daughter can understand, the love he had for her and for his wife.

“S'the same, but different. Mommy and daddy love ya so, so much, angel, 'cause ya came into our lives to make everythin' better. An’ daddy loves mommy with all his heart too, that’s why I asked mommy to be ma wife, so she’d be stuck with me for life.” Daryl tries not to laugh as he remembers that that was what he told you when you got married. “Mommy an’ daddy love each other a lot too, and ya were born from that love.”

Marley holds his gaze, her little mind trying to process his words.

“Aunt Maggie asked Mommy if you two were thinking about having another baby.” Marley tilts her head again, looking at her daddy with blue eyes that sparkle with curiosity. “Are we having another baby at home, Daddy?”

Daryl smiles as he uses one hand to tuck a strand of his daughter’s hair behind her ear, but for him, it’s a relief to see his baby willing to share her place as queen of the house.

“Dunno, angel. Daddy thinks it might be a good idea for ya to have a lil’ brother or sister at some point, but that’s Mommy’s decision. S'her body that has to carry the baby, and Daddy ain't pressurin' Mommy into doin' anythin’ she’s not comfortable with, okay?”

Marley nods.

“But maybe if we ask Santa for a baby, he can bring one and Mommy won’t have to carry my little brother or sister inside her.”

Daryl chuckles, but he too is at peace with the idea that his daughter’s innocence is still intact in that cruel world.

“That’s an excellent idea, angel.” His hand, warm despite the season, caresses his daughter’s soft cheek. “If s'okay with Mommy, I know ya’ll be a great big sister.”

Marley smiles at the touch of her daddy’s fingers against her skin, not even noticing that his hand is calloused, somewhat rough, because he always caressed her cheek softly, so gently that she never noticed Daryl’s insecurity the first time he thought he would hurt her skin.

“You, Daryl Dixon…” Marley giggles, because she never used her daddy’s real name, because to her, he had always been daddy. “You’re a good daddy. The best daddy in the whole world.”

Like the snow melting when the weather leaves winter behind, Daryl feels an overflowing love for his little daughter, his baby, his angel, feeling her love that managed to melt those fears he harbored inside him, the mistaken idea that he would never be the father Marley deserved.

“Can ya stay this lil’ forever, angel? Can ya promise daddy ya will never leave his side?”

Marley tries not to laugh, making an effort to keep a serious expression to match her promise.

“I’ll never leave your side, daddy. I promise.”

Daryl smiles, and when he does, his expression softens, always, and his blue eyes become warm as he takes in how identical his daughter is to him.

“What’s this beautiful couple doing here?” Carol’s sweet voice draws their attention, and Marley has to turn to look at her, smiling the instant she recognizes her. Daryl pulls her off his lap, and his daughter clings to Carol’s body the moment she reaches the porch. “Are you better now, honey? Your mommy said you were getting a little sick.”

Marley looks up, smiling instantly.

“Yes, Denisse gave me a shot. It hurt a little, but when she told daddy he should get one too to prove to me it didn’t hurt, he told her only his wife could touch his ass.”

Carol’s laughter drowns out Daryl’s embarrassment, embarrassment he tries to cover with a serious expression, but when she says goodbye minutes later and Marley climbs back onto her daddy’s lap, he has to keep the same expression so as not to give himself away.

“Marley, sweetheart, s'okay when ya tell daddy that mommy thinks he’s attractive, but ya don’ have to tell everyone that daddy’s scared of shots, okay?”

Marley, though confused by the contradictory idea that always telling the truth is okay, nods before leaning against Daryl’s chest, one side of her face feeling the softness of his long–sleeved black t–shirt that he always pulls up to his elbows. Daryl chuckles as he wraps his arms around her, like a refuge from the slight chill while they wait for mommy to come home. Then, he shakes his head in disbelief, his long hair moving with him, because Daryl knows that when the day is over, his family, the family he made at the end of the world, will know that the man who survived a couple of gunshots and several fights is scared of shots.

Oh, but what the hell, because after marrying the love of his life and having a little girl as a daughter, everyone already knew that, despite his rough exterior, Daryl is a big softie (in a good way) for his girls.

Hi! I was wondering how you think the octa trio would react to a darling who was studying to be a marine biologist? Like I can image that before darling was taken by the mirror they were studying, have an absolute love of the ocean, and even go deep sea diving regularly. I could also see them absolutely gushing over the trios mer-forms, being curious, making treats/dishes based on what their fish equivalent like to eat in our world.

You always asked such strange questions whenever you could corner him or the tweels but he couldn't deny you and your curiosity. You had this hopeful glimmer in your eyes that was so precious to see. "Oh and why do some octopuses like to lead an isolated life? It's, uh, because they don't have a mate or just something innate? And if I can ask more, how do this whole visual communication between octopuses work?"

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ At first, when you still haven't picked his interest, he wouldn't answer you. Not without a contract, that is. But after that, when you became someone dear to him, Azul genuinely feels very happy that you take so much interest on him though he is a little overwhelmed by how many questions you ask per second. Even so, he do his best at answering you when he note your interest on marine life.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ You two has long conversations about the life beneath water. You match his enthusiasm talking about fish, crustaceans and molluscs, about corals and the littles things you love. He might share some fun facts with you about octopuses and answers your questions as best as he can. Though he do gets a little shy sometimes. Like, wow, you really want to know all this? If he was in his mer form, you would see his tentacles moving in a very distinct way, almost like a dance and how his skin changed its color.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ He gets even more shy if you ask to see his mer form, which he is still a little insecure about. He knows you won't laugh at him but he can't help so this might take a while. Till then, he is more than happy to this little routine of yours. Plus he like when you cook some crustaceans for him. Octopus loves to eat it. Your knowledge is cute in his eyes so he, in turn, study human customs to understand more of you. If you compliment on his human form, he'll blush. But if you compliment him on his mer form, he'll without notice release ink, blush and stutter a little.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Azul makes a potion for you to be able to breathe beneath water each and every time you go diving. Isn't he so generous, just as the Sea Witch herself? Though there's a trick to it. You love the sea so much and you want to know so much and there's so many things you haven't seen yet, it's just fair for him (and for the tweels, he suppose) to show you all. The price? Your legs. Yes, your legs. When you drink it you won't be able to go back to your human form.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Though that's only when you guys graduate from NRC. So you still have some time on your hands, use wisely.

You then look at Floyd who is using your shoulder as a pillow. "And is it true that you live to be 100? And my main question is about electric eels, how do they use electricity to communicate?"

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ So many questions. Jade teases you a lot because of how many questions you ask, it's all good fun and he knows when to stop to not make you feel like you're intruding. He gets a little softer answering it, feeling a little nostalgic himself. He felt the same way when he got his legs, he wanted to explore the world, sightsee everything, eat different dishes and hear different songs.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Everything was new though he had to learn everything alone, as his brother and Azul were busy doing their own thing. You don't need to be alone learning about marine life, he can answer your questions, go diving with you, it's a little dangerous but he is there to protect you.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ He likes feeling your gaze boring into his form and you little anxious hands touching his long tail and fins. It's cute. Feels intimate. Even more when he curl his tail around you and cuddle you, staying like that for various minutes or even hours.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ On the other hand, Floyd may or may not answer your doubts based on his mood. He likes to hear your questions, they're so diverse and they make him think about home. So far, he already told you how crabs have a strong exoskeleton, or that crustaceans adapt quickly or how eels sometimes migrate to live in salt water then on fresh water. There are so many things he could tell you about it. So many creatures who he fought against. Ah, the good times <3

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ Most times than not Floyd likes to take you diving instead of answering you. It's just more fun, plus he like to have you pay such close attention to his mer form. He displays his tail and gills proudly, letting his bioluminescence leave you in awe.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ You and Floyd usually cook together on mostro's kitchen and he show you just how he like to eat molluscs, fish, algae and octopus. He even let you spoonfed him and he'll do the same for you, giggling happily, telling you how cute you are where you're eating. Though he knows humans may find eel food a little strange so he often cook your favorite dish as well.

.⁠｡⁠*⁠♡ The Octotrio work together to trap and isolate you in their care. They are the only one worth enough to have you asking your little questions and they'll hate (they totally don't) to hurt someone, if you choose to be ask someone else about marine life. Thus the other octavinelle students are a little afraid of interacting with you.

Shu’s Type Headcanons

shu wouldn’t like someone that’s his complete opposite

he prefers a fair balance of opposite and similar - or even if she had just a handful of similarities, it’s enough

he needs someone who likes relaxing with him as well

someone he can enjoy comfortable silences and beautiful music with

soft, fluffy curly hair would kill him.

he likes long, soft, flowy hair that smells like fruits and flowers that he can bury his face into and use as his personal curtain

but at the same it would become a nuisance if her hair kept getting stuck/pulled while they cuddled and she complained about it. plus, short hair would give free access to her beautiful neck

in terms of bodies, he likes petite, short women because they look cute, innocent and frail

tall and elegant women because they seem poised and gentle, seeming soft-spoken and not noisy, causing less of a disturbance to him

curvy women because they’re warm and soft; the perfect pillow to him (bonus points if they smell good) and he gets to make lewd remarks about their blessed assets

he really doesn’t care that much

soft clothes in soothing colors like pastels and dark shades are appreciated. hates eyesore colors like neons and if his lover were to be a fan of them, they’re sure to hear a few unamused remarks every so often

I REALLY like Bowa as a character now. this is so insanely tragic to me. she's been stewing in Fear for years - but like Trust, this doesn't necessarily just seem like fear. she truly has worked twice as hard as anyone else! she is attacking in rage, yes, but the animators really made sure to show that she's also SMART.

she's got excellent battle prowess, figuring out how to work around an overpowered ability of setting rules, and is more experienced than Queen. she's DANGEROUS and she has a goal that you completely believe she could deliver on. she wants to kill Queen. she wants to stop her from becoming X. and on one of those fronts, she succeeds.

When Queen tells her she can't even go to the tournament anymore and THAT's what takes her out of the Fear...sobbing...

it seems like getting Fear inflicted on you first changes your eye color before changing your shape to be some monster. and it can last quite a long time. I wonder if your Trust Value affects how this process works.

Bowa is extremely strong with Fear, but where is the fear coming from?

Queen almost dies and takes an entire year to recover omg. the damage that heroes can cause to the environment and each other is no joke. the collateral alone probably means everybody has hero insurance or something

Tenna has SO MUCH platonic yandere potential imo. Like, half of the third chapter was me going 😟 at the shit he was pulling(in a good way!! i enjoyed it greatly). To be fair, I have a habit of liking characters with people-pleasing tendencies so I might be biased, but still. Him💚💚💚

Also there's a whole discussion to be had on how he partially raised Kris(or at the very least provided comfort and distraction during a very rough time in their life) and how hhe knows them way more than they know him, but I can hardly form a coherent thought rn so. Yeah.

No, you're great and I absolutely agree!

Some great yandere elements for Tenna are:

He needs/demands attention. Self-explanatory; it's a big part of just the premise of his character. He's unhappy because he used to be a part of the family, he used to be able to receive attention and give support/comfort/entertainment, and now he's unable to do that. Now people are uninterested in him, and for a long time he couldn't do anything about it, but now he can. Now he finally has the agency he's lacked to wrestle back the validation he's been denied.

He is emotionally manipulative. As soon as he gets a "no", his first move is to droop down, turn off all the colorful lights, emphasize how much he needed that "yes", etc. The twofold mental weapon that is a people-pleasing yandere who also guilt trips you is delightful to me.

He's extremely secretive. He has so many moving parts behind the scenes, as a side-effect of his people-pleasing; he's going behind their backs to make everything perfect, and if anything isn't perfect, "They can't find out about this!"

He refuses to acknowledge changes of interest. He does acknowledge, to Susie, "I don't think Kris loves TV," but to Kris themself he only ever says things like, "Remember how much you loved this? Remember how fun this was? Hey, you love this, right?" (This could play into a forced agere thing, but it doesn't have to.)

When all else fails, he makes it impossible to leave. Sealing them in the gacha balls is basically the same thing as tying someone to a chair.

And YES, saying he basically raised Kris is right on the money. Kris is pretty much his baby, in Tenna's eyes. He used to be Kris's refuge, and he's watched both Asgore and Toriel somewhat fail to give them the support they clearly need, and while in practice Tenna isn't great at being what Kris needs either, he's spent years unable to do anything, meaning he's had a chance to mythologize what a great parental figure he'd be if he only had a chance. He knows he could do it better than Asgore and Toriel.

(This could also be part of why he's not quite as obsessed with Toriel as he is with Kris, despite mentioning that she was the last one to regularly watch him. He loves Toriel, but Kris is his baby, and he wants his kid to love him and think he's cool again, like they used to.)

"How did you manage to follow me in the first place?" A valid question.

Alucard usually never left the manor aside for an occasional walk in the forest. When he was called to a mission it was most definitely an exception. However, he so very rarely visited any nearby towns or villages that his appearance next to you startled you in more ways than one.

Somehow you doubted that. But then again, Integra was rather affectionate with Alucard. In her own way… as much as one could dote on a monster anyway. She might have truly allowed this for his sake. Or the sake of the other members of the manor.

Many people glanced at you, or rather your surprise guest. Alucard was so tall and made people naturally uneasy. Of course, his vampiric nature made the people around him just as curious.

Still, you did not feel comfortable with how_small children started to cry around you and how some people even pointed fingers. "Perhaps you can make yourself less… scary? I think you are frightening the people."

"Would you prefer if I turned into a puppy for your amusement?" Alucard almost sounded annoyed but he was also teasing you. In the end, you have started to gain way too much influence over the vampire. He would do so many things for you. Including turning into a puppy, apparently. Or his definition of it anyway.

"Are you capable of that?" It should be no surprise to you that he was not going to turn into a cute, sweet puppy.

Still, when Alucard disappeared into a dark alley just to return as a massive black hound, you could not help but make a face. "That is not a puppy… you look more like a hellhound. You are still scary."

That only flattered his ego. People were supposed to fear him. Not invite him for dinner like you so often did. "Fine, just don 't bite anyone, okay?"

At least this massive beast would keep people at a safe distance from you. Shopping had never been so easy.

As you started to move, Alucard trotted next to you. Even his dog form seemed to have way too long limbs. His red eyes darted around in London. It looked very different the last time he had been here.

Plastic. Mass Production…Life had become so easy and yet so lifeless. He still remembered how people came together to cook, sing, and dance. How peasants and royals alike dyed their clothes eagerly to be colorful.

As much as he hated god, the colorful churches built in his name were gorgeous. He remembered how people decorated their homes and surroundings for practically any occasion.

Flower wreaths, frilly clothes… Humanity once worked together to create. At this point, they relied more on bleak machinery than their own hands.

"What do you mean-Wait, did you just speak to me in my mind?" At first, you had not even noticed the weird quality of his voice. It seemed to be echoing in your mind.

The lips of the dangerous pup next to you curled upward into an unsettling smile. "Oh don 't give me that grin."

You did not even know that hellhounds could look so smug. That must be another one of Alucards endless and weird abilities. Could he read your thoughts? You hoped not.

Regardless if humans were in their twenties or in their eighties, compared to him, everyone was still so very young. But he must admit that scrolling through London with you somehow made him feel younger as well.

Even when he had to wait outside stores that did not allow "pets" inside. When the day started to end, he watched you settle down on a bench.

Being an opportunistic man, he took the chance to sit next to you. It took but a little nudge for your hand to come to rest on the top of his head.

Get comfy and reread with me the finale of the Il Mheg arc and the intro of a certain loser.

First off, I wanna emphasize how important this arc’s for Vivi. Had he not liked Il Mheg in general and Feo Ul in particular, the rest of the story would play out very differently, and not in favor of the sundered. His initial positive impression of the First is pretty much the only thing that saves it.

Initially this was Vivi's inner monologue, then I thought that I should just let them talk, and it wrote itself.

Drawing a buncha vivi-lookalikes that act soooooorta but not really like him, just slightly off, was a surprisingly fun exercise.

Luckily for Thancred, though, he sniffs out the pixie magic, and knows better than indulging them.

This here’s an example of a moment where I’m uncertain if I’m being too subtle and if this flies over some readers’ heads. He refers to Alisaie’s “job” of dragging Vivi back to msq, which she recently started lowkey dreading (episodes 32-33)

...Though she goes back to her “duty” in episode 43.

She's pointedly SILENT throughout the episode, doing her best to hold back.

Thancred's a man who can say no to begging dogs.

Gridania mention! Vivi’s gridanian! He never speaks ill of the elementals, he's wary of them even a world apart.

This pixie's life is something Feo Ul's willing to sacrifice. Episodes 42-43 tell this story in reverse order, yes this’s the pixie that was supposed to agree with Thancred and go with the Scions to the Crystarium.

As to why there’s a dozen of vivis popping up as a backup: they needed just one fake Vivi to go with the Scions, but try organizing the pixies. Their plan’s already failed when this first pixie-Vivi refused to play their part.

“Yeah no, our guy’s special, but not as special as to explode in confetti”

I love his first ingame appearance in that Varis cutscene, this moment has similar energy: barely enters the stage, instantly gets impaled on a long object. This’s not foreshadowing, no, why would you think that-

The “camera” is perfectly still, there’s even some symmetry, demonstrating how calm and prepared Emet is. He didn’t expect much and he’s still disappointed.

This’s a super old comic. I spent the first half of 2022 testing and trying to find a style for Fragments, back then I had no plans, none, zero, absolutely no interest to give Emet a role bigger than a mention. The earliest version of the script had very few Emet scenes, which, looking back on it, was gonna be a disservice to his character. Well, that changed rapidly in late 2023 when I fell for him so hard that I broke my neck, and now I look back on a lot of what I did with Vivi with new eyes. THE EYEROLL. After spending two years developing a guy for a fun wolgraha chemistry (at the same time I was perfectly aware that Exarch and Emet are foils. I made a foil for Exarch, what on earth did I expect-), I’m going through a mindblow after mindblow as I realize HOW GOOD VIVI IS FOR EMET (and vice versa ofc) and how many things they have in common. This wasn’t always the case, Vivi just gradually got more cynical, tired, ✨grey✨ and everything else that makes a guy consider hitting it with The Other Old Man.

They’re off to a great start.

From Emet’s pov, this must really hurt, as in how many other shards of Azem might’ve snarled at him like this. Even though he must be numb to it by now, who says that there isn’t the tiniest flicker of hope when he approaches yet another not-Azem. He may deny and hate and try to snuff out that spark, but the fatal Soulmate Magnet keeps doing its thing.

Parallels to episode 2.

Apparently, Vivi’s first reaction to encountering his to-be-most-prominent boyfriends is to attack them somehow.

This’s really, REALLY dumb of him, and he even comments on it shortly after. But yes, his isekai tale in the First was rather pleasant just until now, and it lulled him into the false sense of security. OF COURSE there are ascians everywhere, not just on the Source. Vivi just forgor.

Emet tests Vivi's reactions to insults/being treated as a lesser, silliness, flirt.

I regret to inform you that both Vivi and Alisaie have been disarmed so easily. The tone quickly shifts, the weapon’s lowered.

Alisaie makes bad puns/jokes in canon, I thought it'd fit if she laughed at that kinda jokes too, and in the least fitting situations, to top it off. Alphinaud’s disappointed, even if he can hardly be called an expert in humor.

“It’s up to you”. Emet stops fooling around, assuming a more serious tone. He may not respect Vivi or his agency here, but he provides him with a choice that's guaranteed to give him some trust points, and uses "we" for an illusion of unity/equality, a not really subtle nudge towards cooperation, it's not me vs you anymore, it's "us".

Whether Vivi picks up on the manipulation or not remains to be seen, but Emet gets his way here.

Forgive me this lil tangent, but I’m so giddy and excited to write Emet. If Exarch’s decently emotionally intelligent but still obtuse at times, Vivi’s a tier or two above him, he’s not a stranger to manipulation, he registers it being used on him, and doesn’t hesitate to use it too when it suits his fancy. He's quite good at people-ing. Emet, though, Emet’s THE emotional intelligence personified. He’s had literal thousands of years to practice, he leaves everyone else in the dust in this regard. It’s daunting but so exciting to write him, I hope to do him justice.

Hidden Angst Time! It's all hehe haha until you realize that this might be a product of the hectic wol lifestyle forcing him to speedrun his emotions like this. Either speedrun, or be left with no opportunity to process them at all.

Also, the sandwiches! The framing’s deliberate, they’re on the foreground all the time, and Vivi only notices them in the very last panel.

The fact that a guy that Vivi had briefly considered as partner material shut himself away in the Crystal Tower for what could be the rest of his life has stuck with Vivi for good. Or should I say for bad. He might not necessarily care about ARRRaha, still it upsets him that he kissed someone who practically killed himself some days later.

I recently talked a lil more about the Bitchless Liar. This’s how Vivi remembers him forever, take it or leave it. But hey, this cool Exarch guy has big balls probably <- in-universe hc \o/

This episode taught me to draw BREAD.

Even though Exarch’s been nothing but sweet so far, one thing’s to acknowledge a fact with your brain, another thing’s to wrestle with your trauma and paranoia that have all rights to exist and fester. Ever since HW Vivi doesn’t accept food and drinks from anyone except the few trusted sources. This isn’t really covered in this episode, but hopefully hinted at just enough.

He takes a leap of faith. Or maybe he’s simply sick and tired of living Like This. Maybe sandwiches kill him, and he doesn’t really mind. And, when they don’t, he goes through a visible shift in attitude towards Exarch, as we’re able to see in the following episodes.

Tsukasa's Winter Uniform

Many people forget, but Tsukasa has appeared in TBHK since the very first chapter. He even shows up before Kou, less you count the pilot adaptation.

The odd thing is, despite Tsukasa later confirming he only wore the winter uniform to match his older brother, Tsukasa shows up in the winter uniform much earlier than their fated rooftop encounter. About a month earlier, at least.

If that weren't enough, he even shows up wearing it in the reflection of Hanako's knife, implying he wore it when he died.

Previously I guessed this was done because AidaIro hadn't finalized the designs of Amane (specifically, alive!Hanako) and Tsukasa yet, but upon further reflection I like to think it was to wordlessly show the deep connection between Hanako and Tsukasa. To leave hints for the reader, and keep them second-guessing.

I mean, who's to say the character handling the radio in Chapter 1 wasn't Hanako? It's unlikely with what we know now, but it's something a lot of people probably thought when they first read it. And I think that's kind of brilliant, given that the twins are mirror images of each other in everything except clothes. When we can't see Tsukasa's identical face, it only makes sense to give them the same clothes.

It's interesting when Tsukasa first shows up on the rooftop, too. Tsukasa has a few differences between himself and his twin, but in this encounter he shares much of the same traits. He lacks his pointy teeth and you can't even see his eyes till the end, which don't even look particularly Tsukasa-like.

The only true major difference is his kokujoudai and the black seal, which really lack any individuality at all... they are just black-colored versions of Hanako's own seal and tsueshiro. It's a very interesting choice; the least I can say is Tsukasa really went all out in matching his brother.

In some ways, it's a bit underwhelming for his face reveal. In others, it's not: I mean, Hanako's murder victim literally shares his face! What a compelling surprise! I can only imagine AidaIro was trying to emphasize this.

Later, Tsukasa returns to the broadcasting club room and catches up with Natsuhiko and Sakura. This is where his individuality begins to shine.

He changes into his hakama outfit, his pupils get tiny or his eyes go completely black, and while not every panel has them he's drawn with his signature pointy canines in a few.

His personality changes, too. You get to see Tsukasa's more childlike, innocent side. He's so much more serious when he's with Hanako, you feel a lot of tension and maybe even resentment there. But here, he becomes so carefree. While the rooftop has him feeling more like a spectre of Hanako's guilt rather than his own person, here it really sinks in that this is not just some recolored Hanako we're dealing with.

On that note, I find it interesting the twins seem more carefree when they're away from each other... hmm...

Anyway, one thing I like about this era of Tsukasa is the art AidaIro made of him. I'm a big fan of early TBHK art, and the matching baggy winter uniforms really look nice together.

I like how this art emphasizes a sort of perverted sentimentality between the two of them. They can't help reaching out to each other. I like how Hanako distinctly doesn't look happy either, something Tsukasa inquires when they meet again. He looks distressed, helplessly so. And he is: he can't break away from his guilt of killing Tsukasa, nor Tsukasa himself, who is content to keep eating away at him while he still can, knowing Amane will be his doom. It's mutual self-destruction--They can't live with each other, can't live without each other...

My love for chapter frontispieces aside, thanks for reading this far! I used to not have much appreciation for Tsukasa's winter uniform but I've come to love its symbolism a lot more as time has gone on. Perhaps I'm reading too deep into things, but what do you think?

Oh yeah, and here we are. Vi's poster is finally out and we can put them all together. Jinx is actually in all of the posters, but as I said, they did a lot better than I expected.

Initially I thought it would be a consistent story according to the release of the posters, but the more I look at them, the more I am convinced that each poster is a separate story of a character in its own time period.

I'll return to the first poster with Vi and Jinx, but I won’t consider the second general poster in detail yet – for me it is really just a general promo with a small symbolic hint. And personal posters are really more interesting.

Ekko

Actually, he was the first. With the release of the trailer, I understand why the poster did not show anything else from his image, except for decoration and a close–up of his face - because now we know that there is also a pink cross and other attributes of Jinx painted on his clothes. This is definitely a different costume, but it is already obvious that at some point Ekko (either himself or his gang) will cooperate with Jinx. Whether this will be a temporary truce, whether this will be the final forgiveness of everything that happened between them in the past is an open question (I am more inclined to a temporary truce).

Caitlyn

Oh yes, that hard look and angry face that contrasts so much with the innocently charming face from the first season. I assume that Jinx's rocket will take her mother's life – it's too obvious and there are too many hints about it. This means that Jinx becomes a kind of Vendetta for Caitlyn, and the matter of her capture (and elimination, I assume) becomes, among other things, her personal business. It is noteworthy that Caitlyn's poster is the only one on which there is no pink color – neither Vi's pink hair nor Jinx's pink eyes. The whole poster is cold and icy blue. I can assume that at some point Caitlyn will remain completely alone in her mission to capture Jinx, and Vi will either not be with her, or for some reason she will be on Jinx's side (especially since on the general poster the girls were separated by a green stripe, which is associated with Ekko. Isn't this the moment from the trailer where Ekko is acting in concert with Vi?). In any case, Caitlyn's poster looks very cold and aloof. And only in red strokes, like blood or a spider's web, threads pass, which Caitlyn used back in the first season, when she drew up her own scheme of evidence of what was happening in the Undercity. The "Red web" is a great metaphor for Caitlyn's condition this season. Red is the color of Noxus, and Ambessa will definitely have a very strong influence, even pressure, on Caitlyn in matters of martial law. The web of Ambessa's decisions, the council's decisions, the confrontation between the two cities, the relationship with Vi and personal revenge against Jinx, in which Caitlyn is obviously entangled, will really change her beyond recognition and I am very interested to see it.

In the first season, Caitlyn looks at her "red web", trying to figure out what is happening in the Underground City. This season, she literally got herself tangled in this web.

Jinx and Vi

Yes, I'll look at them together because I can't separate their posters from each other. In my head, they fit perfectly and intertwine together, like two pieces of one whole. I like the way they are arranged "jack", like a playing card. And both sisters dominate each other's posters. In Jinx's poster, Vi's dominant hands are at the top of the image and are literally on Jinx's neck in an aggressive and suffocating gesture, while Jinx herself is literally upside down and is at the bottom. On Vi's poster, Jinx's hands are already at the top of the image and, obviously, they also bring pain to her sister, only in a different way. Although Vi herself occupies most of her poster, Jinx really dominates – a light gesture that closes her eyes, but literally puts Vi in a very vulnerable, painful and desperate position. Jinx's eyes are open and looking with a certain mixture of fear and malice, whereas Vi's eyes are completely closed – does she not see the real picture of what is happening? Doesn't want to admit the obvious? Or does she just not know what to do next? (It is noteworthy that Vi does not look directly into the frame on any of the posters where she appeared. None at all. The eyes are either averted or closed).

These are definitely different time periods – on Jinx's poster she still has her own finger, whereas on Vi's poster she has already lost her finger. So according to the chronology, the events from Jinx's poster will be earlier than the events from Vi's poster.

Speaking of Jinx's finger.

Yes, it is mechanical, but it is much more interesting what is painted on it and what color it is painted. A pink smiling face. I like the theory that it's Caitlyn who's going to shoot Jinx's finger off, and I tend to stick to that theory. Because if so, the symbolism turns out to be very beautiful. This smiley face, by the way, breaks the color scheme of the manicure.

Blue? No, dear. Pink again. Because it's Jinx now.

As a result, all of Jinx's "pink fingers" cover her eye. The same eye that often stood out somehow in many of Jinx's images. Now it is "Jinx" that completely covers the view of Vi for at least one eye for sure.

I don't remember if there will be more posters coming out or if the poster with Vi was the last one, but in any case, the stories they are trying to tell are quite interesting.

based on tarot. i do not know these idols personally. energies are always changing. what i say is NOT straight fact. pls take it with a grain of salt!

female idols

their energy was crazy. i just casually started tearing up and getting weirdly sentimental while writing this, so.. definitely some strong emotion present here? also immediately thought of the song mentioned above. especially the “i used to think you were shy, but maybe you just had nothing on your mind. maybe you were thinking about yourself all the time.” line.

so, hyunjin's reputation among female idols doesn't look great persé. he's viewed as a guy who's likely to have flirted with anyone fitting his idea of attractive. a bit of a ladies' man, who for sure enjoys the ego-stroking that comes with female validation. he's great at these short but emotional flings, meaning in the moment he's great at deceiving and deluding people into him being serious about it. there is this huge perception of him just being kinda.. delusional and unrealistic, living in a dream world of his own and willingly wearing these rose-colored glasses. if hyunjin connects to you romantically, he's amazing at dragging you with him into that world. like dating (? or hooking up? energy is mostly physical with this perception of a shortlived emotional bond) with him can be a bit of a rollercoaster.. with an irresistible high, and the following disappointing low. definitely a certain addictiveness to it. he knows his powers and what he can do to people, how he can use them to his own advantage.

he's very good at appearing a certain way but being another. meaning he puts on this prince charming on a white horse act, but once you look beyond that, or you just get close enough to knowing his actual self, he's much more selfish and greedy for his own good, than you'd expect. many female idols have this view of him as someone who only enters connections in order to gain something for himself, mostly validation. he puts a lot of importance into superficial things, such as fame, popularity, reputation, image, money, power.. they think he struggles finding true emotional fulfilllment, doesn't really know what he sincerely needs and is disconnected to his inner voice. he therefore just goes on hopping from one person to another. pretty bad at committing to relationships. he's great at entertaining the idea of them, but doesn't live up to the idea in reality. he's very in or out, not always available. prone to ghosting people out of nowhere and not recognizing or not wanting to acknowledge the toxicity behind his actions.

he's not very self-aware in their eyes. he hates confronting or acknowledging certain realities and therefore runs away from them. like he just runs away from his problems essentially. doesn't take accountability for his actions. hyunjin is a bit like an immature and irresponsible child to them. he gets afraid to admit to his mistakes because he's scared to get hurt, or make himself appear weak or flawed. some of them think it's pathetic. (they're very harsh in their judgement for sure lol)

there are some female idols though, who view him as mysterious and intriguing, and very desirable too. they think he has a strong presence, and he has this aura to him that awakens your interest, makes you wonder who he truly is. i can sense he's probably someone who does most of the approaching (surprisingly straightforward and direct) but doesn't have many people actually approach him, since he doesn't have very accessible energy. there's a good portion of female idols just staring at him like 🫢😯 and whispering and gossiping. they look at him as this unapproachable guy full of mystery, someone they can't figure out.

male idols

so, male idols look at hyunjin in a lighter manner. opinions do seem to vary though.

he's someone who's also just kinda in and out in their eyes. like at one point, you'll be with him, enjoying his company and seeming like you became pretty close, in the next he'll just be gone and unreachable. he's someone unpredictable and moody to them, like you never really know what phase in life he'll be in. someone very sensitive and easily affected by external influences, who therefore naturally goes through many ups and downs in life. however, they think he doesn't really let people in when it comes to his internal world. he's good at the superficial connections, i can see him being a lot of fun at parties, but many male idols feel like they don't actually know him as well as they think.

however additionally, there is this perception of him being.. overly sensitive. like do not touch hyunjin when he's going through something. some male idols think he's way too easily stressed out about things, makes a big deal out of everything, constantly self-sabotages and creates himself problems when there's none. in their eyes, he's a bit of a pain in the ass in this way. like just unbearable. you won't get him to open up easily, but once he does, he'll probably puke all his concerns out in hours and overwhelm the hell out of the person he's with.

but i have to say, he has an immense amount of respect from his peers in a professional manner. many male idols think he's the stand-out member in stray kids. they think it's impressive how he's been able to pave himself a way and reputation of his own. a lot of approval and acknowledgement of his not only his abilities, but also his efforts career-wise. it's giving this role model among quite a few idols, especially rookies. i can tell there's this tendency for them to be in awe of group members who just stand out and have these main-character vibes among the rest. many of them would like to imitate hyunjin's career trajectory and are eager to reach a similar reputation professionally. he has this image of having fulfilled his dreams with his own efforts, probably because of them turning him into the main dancer of the group, rather than him being “born talented”. the professional applause for hyunjin is something that's for sure spread among the majority of male idols. his career is very commendable and praiseworthy in their eyes.

Okay so I have a lot to say about this one, because it was very long and very detailed! I love details.

I love the allusions to Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon throughout this fic. I noticed it right away in chapter one, and I adored it instantly.

Looooove that Hannibal has maroon eyes like the books! This is one of my favorite things in fics, and I loved that it was included in this one. And the chapter names all having to do with the characters' eyes is brilliant in the context of this soulmate AU! Chapter 2 and 20 having the same title? Incredible.

I liked that many of the characters we know (and some from the books) make an appearance, and some of them even have different appearances from the show, i.e., their book appearances (namely Dolarhyde). This is the first Hannigram fic I've read that mentioned Barney (the orderly from SotL who helped Clarice Starling), and I found it very cool! I've always liked how Barney and Hannibal had a quiet respect for each other, and I wish they had interacted more in this fic.

I also found it interesting that Hobbs gave will the scar across his stomach, which to me has always been a symbol of Hannibal's claim over Will, something he left to mark him and remind him both of what he'd done to earn it and who it belonged to—who he belonged to. I just wanted to note that, because I'm me and I'm obsessive about Will Graham's scars.

I have very few complaints, the main one that comes to mind being that even in the end, Will doesn't accept the cannibalism (example: there's a comment about him being grateful that his meal is cow and not "pig"). We see Will (in the show) being momentarily shocked by it and somewhat repulsed, but then he goes right back to eating dinners with Hannibal and even providing human meat for him. At this point in the show, they've known each other for an estimated 10 ish months. In this fic, he also never fully accepts his Becoming and is still repulsed by his darkness and doesn't embrace who he is, even in light of who his soulmate is, and of having taken lives. This is obviously me being nitpicky, but I love to see a Will Graham who's sure of himself and who he is with Hannibal, and doesn't shy away from his cruelty and darkness. No hate to the author obviously, it's just my preference.

This was an incredibly well written fic, and I did very much enjoy it. I was less satisfied with the character development than I hoped to be, so I likely won't read it again, but I definitely will be recommending it to others! Reasons Why I Think Bryce Callahan is the Best Character in Jock Studio: An Essay

Just wanted to start off by stating that this is obviously my opinion, but regardless I would like to tell y’all why Bryce is literally the best character in Jock Studio.

So let’s get the easiest and most obvious part out of the way first- Bryce’s appearance. He quite literally has the perfect ratio of curve, muscle, thickness, and proportions. When you compare his in-game sprite to the other characters, Bryce is way bulkier than everyone else (except Derek) yet his body isn’t too muscular to the point of looking grossly unnatural. And unlike Derek, Bryce has very thicc thighs, biceps, calves, big pecs, and a voluptuous butt. So, the softness and strength of his body is a very hot contrast. If Ace’s encounter with Bryce’s ‘boobs’ is anything to go off of, it’s that there will definitely be more moments like it when the full game is released.

Hopefully, nothing will change about his appearance once Jock Studio is finally out, in 2027 rip because his naked form is literally to die for. Bryce’s happy trail and airpit hair definitely accentuate his fratboy persona and wrestler mentality. On the other hand, Bryce almost has an hourglass figure; and not one that’s drastic or makes him look like a woman, but one that shows off his hips and his chest. I know it’s not everyone’s thing but these details suit him so well and only serve to make him more attractive. (I came back to this part after realizing I didn’t mention anything about his pp- but obviously, like the rest of him, it has just the right amount of thickness and length. (Can’t wait to see it uselessly flop around when Ace fucks him-)

Of course, you can’t mention someone’s appearance without mentioning their face. Bryce’s freckles are such a nice touch and make his face quite adorable in my opinion. In fact, there’s freckles all over his body, which somehow causes Bryce to be both hot and cute at the same time. The combo of his emerald green eyes and his ginger hair go fantastically together, especially since they’re on opposite sides of the color wheel. Bryce’s signature backwards cap is quite endearing (and stupid, but that’s what makes it endearing) since it doesn’t serve any functional purpose. Plus, and I believe nobody’s mentioned this, but Bryce actually has a slightly curved nose, and it’s wider than other characters’ noses at the base. And I’ve spent enough time staring at Bryce to know that he also has a sharp canine tooth, not one that makes him look like a vampire, but rather displays the edge of his personality. Now for his clothes- Bryce’s casual wear is noticeably different from the other love interests. His mint green Hawaiian shirt, tan khaki shorts, brown belt, obligatory backwards white cap, orange cardigan tied around his waist, and sunglasses tucked into his Hawaiian shirt all make it seem like Bryce is going off on a vacation rather than casually walking around a college campus. His strange taste in fashion really adds to his character, and is quite entertaining since his gym attire strange as well. Maybe this is common among fraternities, but I wouldn’t know.

Now that I’ve finished explaining why Bryce’s appearance is gorgeous, let’s move on to the hard part. His personality. Because let’s be real, no man, fictional or not, can be that hot and also be single without having a LOT of issues. This is probably what caused many players of Jock Studio Demo 2 to be turned off by Bryce, and why his overall popularity, according to BLits’ survey that came out today (March 7th, 2025), has dropped to #4.

So, let’s not beat around the bush. People got to see what Bryce’s personality is like over a one-week period in the second demo, and many didn’t like how dismissive, abrasive, and defensive he was. Fans thought he was too mean, which yeah, I won’t deny. Bryce doesn’t want to come off as gay, and will say anything (besides the F slur thank goodness) in defense of his actions. He’s private about his life, and doesn’t show his real thoughts or conduct his emotions in a healthy way. Bryce doesn’t care how the members of Jock Studio perceive him, as long as they don’t mention his involvement with the club to anyone else.

But guys, you only saw Bryce in the second week of the game. The finished storyline is going to take place over at least 3 months, but is likely going to be a full school year or multiple semesters. So, one needs to keep in mind that the Bryce we’ve seen so far hasn’t had any time to grow or change, which I think is GOOD. If Bryce had any sort of character development during the first two weeks of his involvement with Jock Studio, that wouldn’t be good writing; because someone like Bryce needs time, guidance, and support to be able to grow as an individual to be able to be a better person.

Therefore, I actually love Bryce’s personality rather than dislike it. His romantic storyline with Ace is going to be a slow burn, but the small milestones and character growth will be so much more impactful than with other love interests, because Bryce hasn’t accepted his own sexuality yet. So there’s no where to go but up from here. Obviously there’s going to be bumps in the road, so the angst will hit hard, but then the soft and happy moments will hit even harder (and so will the NSFW). As Jacques stated, Bryce is a tsundere, and a very abrasive and hot-headed one at that; so his demeanor in Demo 2 blatantly displayed it. But the seeds for what comes down the road have been planted, and Ace and Bryce will go from being (one-sided) enemies to lovers.

To add on to that point, Bryce is unique among the love interests in the way that he starts off on the wrong foot with Ace. Ace pisses Bryce off, and he doesn’t like him. However, all the other love interests, Derek, Leo, Avan, Yuuto, and Zayne have friendly and warm introductions with Ace, so their starting points are all positive. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with that, but that means that conflict will come from more external factors rather than an internal struggle with internalized homophobia or very bad communication skills. For example, Derek with his ex who looks exactly like Ace, Zayne with his bad experiences with romance and inability to tell if the people around him genuinely like him or the idea of him, Yuuto with his ADHD-induced memory loss leading to issues with his everyday life, and Avan/Leo’s very busy schedules (or something, idk enough abt Leo and Avan’s backstory but from what I’ve played they seem relatively fine. Just overworked). Bryce and Ace’s romantic storyline, however, will have both internal and external conflicts on their developing relationship. Bryce will have to come to terms with his sexuality and make peace with his body image, as well as how he is perceived by his frat, along with his parents. I have a feeling that Bryce’s parents are either absent, mentally or literally, and are alcoholics, or may have abused Bryce as a child leading to how he handles situations as a 21 year old now. Additionally, Bryce is adamant about getting money, so it’s safe to assume that his home life probably is not good or that he is indebted to another person. Or something worse.

So throughout the game, Ace and Bryce will be dealing with a substantial amount of problems that will be as captivating as they are heartbreaking; but I imagine that watching a hot fratbro with a hatred for gay people and major self esteem issues turn into a (still somewhat hot-headed) out-of-the-closet man with a boyfriend and healthy ways to deal with his emotions will be extraordinary. For me, I hope that Bryce will maintain some of his personality present now at the end of the story, but be less aggressive and standoffish, and of course be less defensive about being associated with homosexuality.

To clarify, other love interests will definitely be working on themselves and their internal struggles with communication (Zayne and Yuuto) during their respective storylines with Ace, however, they definitely aren’t dealing with major internalized homophobia in the way that Bryce is, or start off coldly with Ace, so their growth as characters won’t be as drastic as Bryce’s will be. Drastic, as in going from being a loud homophobe to being out as queer with a short boyfriend.

Storylines aside, the sexual tension between Ace and Bryce is already immaculate, so imagine what it will be like once they start crushing on each other. And despite what people thought about Bryce in Demo 2, there are very subtle but noticeable details alluding to Bryce warming up to the idea of being friends with Ace. Just the subtle detail of when Bryce let Ace chat with him outside his dormitory and had beers together. The slow burn is already starting, and as the saying goes, “all good things come to those who wait.” Bryce is a challenge. And I enjoy a challenge.

If that wasn’t convincing enough, Bryce is very submissive in sexual situations despite his muscular physique. This contrast is just the icing on the cake for me, because even if this game had zero sex scenes, I’d still play it. But the NSFW content is definitely a huge plus. Bryce becomes embarrassed and red-faced when Ace tells him what to do, and he adamantly says he doesn’t care, but he obeys Ace anyway. Bryce is shy, and his cap comes in handy when he wants to hide his face. Seeing a bulky guy blushing and acting shy was almost like whiplash, but a good kind of whiplash. So it’s safe to assume it will happen more in the future.

In conclusion, Bryce Callahan is the best character in Jock Studio because his extremely hot body, mixed with his tsundere-typical behavior, along with his deep seated issues which will later be dealt with, make him a compelling character that I cannot wait to know more about.

He's stupid and I love him. He was the main reason I found out about Solarballs. I just wish they’d focus on something beyond his angst.

I'm not really interested in his storyline. Even though I like his design and I'm fascinated by robots, it's just not my thing.

Character you think deserve more love: Caelus/Uranus

I really like everything surrounding this character and, in a way, I understand him. I’ve seen that he gets a lot of hate on TikTok, but I think his reaction is valid, not every character needs to have a perfect cardboard-cutout personality and morality. He’s shown that he cares, he’s just tired. Please let him come back soon 🥲 I really hope they don’t rush or compress his centric episodes.

Character you think gets too much love: Earth

As much as I love him, the way they give him the spotlight always for something angsty makes it feel a bit tired(fanon and canon). The script passing gets on my nerves sometimes, cutting off other arcs just to center everything around him…🙃

Character you want to see more of: Caelus/Uranus and Saturn!

If we're talking about the current arc, I want to see Uranus/Caelus. I want to see his reflections and comfort, I hope Jupiter sees him soon, I don't know if I should have high hopes for how they'll resolve their conflict… if he pull a "this isn't you" moment, I'm going to scream🫠.

If we're talking about the future, I've seen rumors about Chrysalis becoming a character , I find it interesting to imagine what their relationship with Saturn would be like, since he's a very sensitive planet I'd love to learn more about.

Character you think has missed potential:

I have mixed feelings about Neptune, he used to be one of my favorites, but now I'm not really sure what they have planned for his character. They dropped the fact that he was having a conflict with Triton, only to cut it off, and I guess they resolved it off-screen? There are too many assumptions and I honestly don't know where they're trying to take it.

Character who has a similar personality to you:

Callisto, we have a similar way of speaking, and I relate to being apathetic, using sarcasm, and having a fascination with "darkness." While I'm evasive, I also care.

Character with your favorite design:

Iapetus… I have no words, such a unique design with that black eye. I love the color contrast, I really like it. 10/10 for me.

Character you didn't like before but you like now:

Ganymede... wow, I really enjoyed seeing his character development. Watching how much he's changed in his decision-making feels so satisfying to me.

Character you'd befriend IRL:

I struggled a lot to decide, since I feel like I can identify with all the characters, but I think being with Luna would be something really pleasant and fun.

Favorite duo: Jupiter and Saturn

God, every time I see it, it makes me feel homophobic🤭 /joke

I think the duo they are is very beautiful, it is so sweet whether romantic or platonic, I genuinely enjoy seeing them together.

Favorite friend group: Rocky planets!

An Introduction To My OCs

Hi, you may or may not have seen my previous post introducing one of my OCs, Bungy, and if you have, you would know that I ended it on a bit of a cliffhanger. Now you've been falling for a few days now but I've finally caught you, here are the rest of the OCs I've made (so far)!

The basic story is that all of these characters come from different universes, but all ended up in one infinite white void called Vadentoru, which is the highest layer of reality. Vadentoru has various lifeforms and structures, many of which control the fundamental rules of every reality beneath. It is a very cosmological setting. Now I know you just want me to get to the characters, and you're right. The setting of Vadentoru will be expanded upon in a future post, as I have quite a bit to cover.

Vadentoru is also the name of the series(?)/project(?) these characters are in. Anything related to this project will be tagged with #vadentoru

We'll start from the smallest and end with the tallest.

Crait

Age: 6

Crait is a cube-shaped entity native to Vadentoru, which acts like a dog/cat. He is a very good boy and he loves pets. Crait moves by rolling, sort of like the small cube in the Gamecube startup screen. Crait may seem small, but that's because he is a very young individual of his species, they can grow quite large as they age, but that will be explained in further detail in the future setting post.

Belle

Age: 20 Pronouns: she/her Bisexual

Belle is girl who is also a bell, who would've guessed! She is a nice chill girl, she's generally friendly and sociable. However, you should not get on her bad side. She has a pretty short temper...

...and she takes no bullshit.

She can wreck you if need be.

Bungy

Age: 19 Pronouns: he/him Asexual

You may already know about Bungy from my previous post about him. If not, I'll give you a quick refresher.

Bungy is curious and friendly, although he gets nervous in unfamiliar situations. He doesn't speak, but he conveys meaning and emotion through expressions and body language. He is great at playing the piano.

Bungy can shapeshift to a limited extent. He can't change color, his eyes are always fully black, and his ears are always present in one form or another. Other than that, he can go wild.

Oh and he also has hair sometimes, if he feels like it.

One interesting thing to note about Bungy is that, canonically, he experiences every art piece ever made of him, no matter when it was made, who made it, or in what medium, with the only exception being in cases where he is not portrayed accurately (i.e. shapeshifts in a way he is usually unable to or has a different personality), something major happens to him (i.e. serious injury or death), or the creator of the art piece specifies that it isn't the original Bungy (be it an AU Bungy, a character that looks like Bungy, etc). If all of the requirements are met, that means he has canonically experienced it.

When Bungy falls asleep, sometimes instead of a dream, he is transported down into a lower reality and into a universe, wakes up, experiences things in that universe, and either he goes back to sleep or suddenly goes unconscious, in which he will then be brought back up to where he fell asleep, and wakes up.

If you go to where he fell asleep while this is occurring, you will not find him.

Arboir

Age: 37 Pronouns: they/them Pansexual

Arboir is a pink starfish-like clump of hair. He is a member of the Amburl species, and he speaks their language of Urelan. Below is a sample of Urelan script:

(Note: this does not actually translate to anything. If I was good at conlangs I would make this into an actual language, but at the time of writing, I am not)

Arboir did not know English at first, but he learned from the rest of the gang, and now can both write and speak rudimentary English.

Arboir is a bit of a wildcard, nobody really knows what hes about to do next. He typically minds his own business, keeping to himself most of the time.

Arboir's species, the Amburl, are single-sex. They reproduce by having a bunch of them lay eggs in a pile, which then absorb each other and form a single offspring. Therefore, an Amburl can have almost any number of parents. They do not mate nor have sexual partners, but they can form close bonds that could be considered romantic.

In Amburl society, almost everything is communal, and they don't really have a concept of ownership or a concept of "yours" or "mine" except when referring to friends (your friend), body parts (your appendage, my appendage) or excretion (your egg, my egg). Arboir sometimes takes things from others without asking beforehand.

They consider an "excretion" to be anything that comes from another thing, they consider rain an excretion as it comes from rain clouds, they consider art an excretion as it comes from Amburl, they consider voices excretion. If one were to make something out of LEGO blocks, they would consider it to be an excretion.

They mostly refer to things as "the." For example, if someone drops something, like a piece of food. you wouldn't say "You dropped your food," you would say "You dropped the food."

Phil Trifle

Age: 30 Pronouns: he/him Asexual

Completely original character! Not based on any preexisting yellow triangular character with one eye!

Ok fine you caught me, Phil is shamelessly based on Bill Cipher from Gravity Falls.

Phil's personality was originally based on the original Bill's personality, but I haven't watched Gravity Falls in a long time, so I've actually kinda forgotten most of his personality. So Phil's personality is more based on my memory of Bill's personality.

Phil is Bill but much more pathetic and ineffective. He is mischievous and sometimes malicious, but things almost never go his way. He likes to get into fights but often backs down. He tries to be scary and intimidating but fails often. He is petty and sometimes annoying, but everyone feels bad for him so they let him tag along.

EBI

Age: 17 Pronouns: any Asexual

EBI is a robot of some kind, with various plugs as its feet, a camera for an eye, and a beacon on her back.

EBI speaks in multiple voices, one sentence he may use a male voice, and another a female voice. They may sometimes switch voices mid-sentence.

EBI is incredibly straightforward and seemingly unemotional, but deep down they truly do deeply care for the people around xem, she just shows it in unconventional ways.

Kami

Age: 22 Pronouns: she/her Lesbian

Kami is a robot with a screen for a head, which displays text to form her face. She's a friendly gal. She loves to hang out with people. She enjoys talking to and getting to know people. She's mostly feminine but has a tomboy side.

Sendril

Age: 205 Pronouns: he/him Bisexual

Sendril is chaotic, charismatic and charming. He's also the antagonist. Nobody really knows where he came from.

Sendril is a loner who sometimes causes havoc, and he's never too far from the other characters.

Sendril likes mischief and mayhem. He has a friendly demeanor but his intentions are never clear (except for them being almost always malicious).

He likes to joke around, but he never says anything outright disrespectful.

Ticon

Age: 23 Pronouns: he/him Straight

Ticon is from a race called the Tomerci, who have circular head and long, centipede-like bodies. Each segment has two legs. They are born with two segments and gain a new segment an average of every 2 years, but the growth is irregular. As they age, the line separating the black & white sides of their head slowly become less straight and more squiggly/rugged.

Tomerci can separate their feet and used them as fingers for their hands, the palms of which are discs that are stored behind the head when not in use.

Ticon is a trans man. The heads of AMAB Tomerci have the black side on the left, and AFABS have the black side on the right. His deadname is Temari.

The naming conventions are that every name starts with the letter T, male names contain a C and female names contain an M.

Ticon is a chill guy. He's generally serious but in a cool way, and would rather stay in his lane and do his own thing.

Nazel

Age: 45 Pronouns: he/they Gay

Nazel is an elephant trunk-lookin dude. He is basically the dad if the group, complete with dad bod and dad personality. He likes to make jokes, which are often of the dad variety.

Nazel is supportive and and tries to lift the spirits of everyone else.

Nazel is also really good at cooking.

He can make something delicious with practically any combination of ingredients.

He also has an incredible sense of smell, his eyes are also his nostrils. He can smell a piece of food and guess the ingredients that went into it with decent accuracy.

Roja

Age: 26 Pronouns: she/her Pansexual

Roja is a tall red woman with a really fucking cool hat, I mean look at it! Badass.

Roja is mute and has autism. She is quiet and reserved, but kind. She's a bit socially awkward but always helps people when needed. She's kind of the mother figure of the group.

She communicates through gestures and sign language.

Roja is very attached to her hat, she is almost always wearing it, and she never goes anywhere without it. She takes it off when she sleeps but she keeps it in her arms while she does.

Oh, and also her and Ticon are gf and bf.

Tecks

Age: 21 Pronouns: he/him Straight

Tecks is literally just giant text. He's... well.. honestly he's just an asshole. Nobody really likes him, but they bring him along because they don't really want to just leave him to die alone.

Tecks is rude, brutish, and likes to hurl insults around. He often talks down to people, but in reality he feels inferior to the others.

Tecks is self loathing. He originates from a 2D universe that is essentially a giant text document. He was tormented by other text for almost his entire life. He usually fought back, but they never did truly stop.

Tecks often lashes out at people, and you should not get on his bad side.

Nobody really likes him, but Kami in particular seems to sense some good in him. She can tell that there's something deeper about him, that there's more than meets the eyes. What is it? We'll see.

Everyone (except Sendril) lives in one giant motorhome.

The motorhome, however, is bigger on the inside, and the interior seems to shift when nobody is looking. One might consider it a Motorhome.

Also there's a chance that it might be alive.

Now you may be thinking "You didn't go into enough detail on the personalities of these characters, I am going to break into your house and steal all of your towels and washcloths." First of all, don't do that, I need those. Second of all, I'm bad at describing the personalities of my characters, so some of these descriptions were partially written by a friend of mine. They were quick and short sentences. Third of all, fret not! For I have a solution, kind of. In a post that will be made shortly after this one (30 minutes, for some reason the tumblr scheduling system won't let me post it any sooner), I have filled out a bunch of alignment charts with my characters. Those will (probably) give you a better sense of the personalities of these characters. So stay tuned for that.

In the meantime, I'm going to working on expanding the setting of Vadentoru. As mentioned before, I will be making a second post specifically about the setting of Vadentoru. It may take a few days until it is posted, so please be patient!

But his type is still evolving and changing quite a lot. It’s like he’s discovering with each new experience his love style. It’s not codependent, it’s very light, very zen and about sharing and enjoying pleasures together. jeonghan: he’s the type of dad that loves spending time playing with the little kiddies. his humor is sometimes right around theirs, so no matter what they do, he’s always giggling with them. it’s very endearing. your tired body spending time with your lovely husband who’s struggling but successfully entertaining a baby. this is your family, and it warms your heart. jeonghan might not know all the ins and outs of childcare, but he loves carrying the baby around and laughing at all the things your baby finds interesting. he just has a certain laugh that’s reserved just for them. 

joshua: another girl dad! he has been hoping… praying… begging, even, for a girl. he’s been preparing very meticulously. he learned how to braid hair, how to do pigtails, and how to color coordinate outfits. knowing josh, he’s pulled all the stops. after learning about your pregnancy, josh was the most excited one about it. every day, he goes to sleep with a smile on his face knowing he’s going to be a dad! he grew very close with his mom after talking to her a lot about how to take care of one and how he was as a kid. much to your surprise as well, josh also became close with your parent(s)/caregiver(s) in the same way. you just know you’ll find josh singing sunday morning to your baby girl more than once. 

jun: he hard carries your post-pregnancy days. baby crying? no worries. he’s already on it. many days, you find him sleeping on the couch with the baby in his arms. they’re both so cute that you fill folders full of those photos. a lot of times, seeing the baby sleeping makes him tired too. it’s cute because that baby gets the same droopy eyes as him, so it’s very easy to tell when they’re sleepy. the baby sleeps in a cradle next to his side of the bed. later on, sometimes you catch him eating some of the baby’s food in between spoonfuls of feeding them. you scold him every time (because “that food’s for the baby, jun. you have your own!”) but he just grins at you and continues feeding your kid. you just know the baby is going to be just like their dad. 

hoshi: this one is a bit funny. he loves babies and he’s definitely interacted with them before, but he’s never had to really take a good look at a baby. not gonna lie, fatherhood is a steep learning curve for hoshi. his first times changing a diaper (what am i supposed to do with this?), burping the baby (what if it breaks?), seeing you breastfeed (because what do you mean you have to pump? what about the baby?), and putting them to sleep really brings him more appreciation to you (who will end up doing most of the baby caretaking) and his mom who took care of him. to make it easier on you, he tries to do whatever he can. he lets you take naps throughout the day by playing with the baby and feeding with the bottles to give you the space you need. he likes talking and singing with the baby because it gives him time to bond. you let him decorate the baby’s room. it is tiger/jungle themed. the baby wears a tiger onesie. he teaches the baby how to horanghae. your baby is horanghae. 

wonwoo: he’s a dad who shows his love through his actions rather than his words. after finding out you were pregnant, he bought a lot of parenting books, took a lot of notes, and even studied baby nutrition so you can be as prepared as you can be. wonwoo is always overjoyed with the idea of being a dad. after you had the baby, his favorite activity is seeing how the baby loves when he laughs and they’re laying on his chest. the vibrations of his dad’s laugh soothes him into giggles and smiles every time. you tell wonwoo it’s because it was their favorite thing to hear while it was in the womb -- its own beethoven symphony. with his love of filmography and editing, that baby is going to grow up with a bucket full of flashdrives about their life. after all, there’s nothing more endearing to wonwoo than you growing as a mother and his baby, who has many more amazing memories to come. and he’ll be there every step of the way.

woozi: this is a dad who has been possessed by the ancestors to become a dad full of wisdom. you don’t even really know what happened, but you had a baby and now your husband walks around like the most dad-ful dad of all time. he likes walking around with the baby and multitasking. the baby carried with pats on the back while the other hand is still producing music… mark his words, this baby will be the next genius producer. he is enrolling that baby in piano lessons as soon as they can run around. but for now, he’s gained a lifetime of dad wisdom and even makes funny-not-so-funny dad jokes too. he’s truly just a born dad. 

dokyeom: he cried. seriously, every single big moment of this baby’s life, dk has cried. you’re pregnant? tears. baby is born? tears. baby is named? tears. announcing the baby to his family, your family, and seventeen? still more tears. dk’s baby is his lifeline, and he is obsessed with being a dad. he loves carrying his baby to the hybe building, because it makes him proud when other idols and hybe staff compliment him on how pretty his baby is. his answer is always, “it’s all from the mom,” but you can always tell he’s brimming with pride. but if you thought dk was loud, you’d be sorry to hear that your baby has inherited his very spacious lung capacity and vocal chords. good luck hearing ever again between dk and your baby. 

myungho: somehow, he makes parenting look so easy and cool. he likes when everyone in your little family is wearing matching clothes. he’ll buy himself and you a matching sweater. and then he’ll also get one for your baby, too. it always is such a hit whenever you all go outside together or meet the family. hao calls your baby his little bao bun, since their cheeks are so squishy like bao! sometimes he doesn’t know what to do with all of the cuteness overload. at the end of the day, he likes to sit there with a smile on his face and watch you talk to the baby as you put him to sleep. 

mingyu: there is not one person who loves being a dad more than mingyu. seriously, he is so in love with this baby. he is so in love with you for making this baby, too. the first time seeing the baby laugh make him burst into giggles so hard, and you’re glad you filmed it on your phone. mingyu is into scrapbooking, and he likes sitting with you at the table while your baby is sleeping to arrange the photos and create scrapbook upon scrapbook of your kid’s early days. mingyu loves playing with the baby, and you know he’s already plotting and scheming on ways to have more kids. the more the better for him. your family’s first halloween had to be a puppy-themed one for obvious reasons. mingyu screams girl dad, but you know he would love your baby regardless of if they were a girl or boy. (but he would be so happy doing their pigtails and buying them little bows for their hair.) mingyu loves when the other members come over and play with your kid too. his heart is just so full of love to give. 

seungkwan: another girl dad alert. but, he wants at least one boy and one girl. he’s very invested in the entire girl dad vibe. his idea of speaking with the babies is spilling tea with them. your baby is always so enthralled by it, like they know what he’s saying and they want more. it amuses seungkwan to no end, so he always looks forward to his nightly debrief when he comes home and he sits down with you holding the baby to spill the tea. he was always very nervous about holding the baby, because babies are fragile and get hurt easily and have soft bones and cry a lot and-- yes. he was definitely very nervous about being a dad, but he likes singing them lullabies to sleep and taking them on walks outside. 

vernon: honestly, he didn’t see himself as a dad until he became one. he was very surprised about the pregnancy (“oh, wow. really?!”) and he spent a lot of time bragging about how he was going to be a dad. he’s excited, and you can tell because he came home with some new idea or new item every day. after the baby is born, he found out that the baby loves seeing his facial expressions. sometimes, you can find the baby mimicking him, which is so funny. vernon enjoys the simplicities behind fatherhood, and always offers to help you out in many roles. he changes the diaper (though learning how to do it the first time was crazy), prepares the bottled milk, and reads the baby stories in his downtime. he loves the slice of life type of activities. 

dino: surprise, he’s a boy dad! he is always jumping off the walls about how he wants to teach his son how to dance, just like how his dad taught him how to dance. all throughout the whole process of pregnancy and birth and beyond, he was very attentive to what you needed. he made sure to pay special attention to the baby’s birth certificate, because you both didn’t need a lee jungchan junior. he likes playing with the baby and being someone you can lean on. just like his group calls him the super maknae and the future of kpop, you like to call him a super dad and the future of your baby’s childhood.
