vito corleone didn’t have smallpox, he had a mental defect/disability (probably autism, it was not discovered at the time but it all matches up), and he was lied to because they thought he wouldn’t understand.
and i have image proof.
this shows what the chalk symbols drawn on people on ellis island means.
Tumblr media
and see, if he had smallpox it would be ‘P’ for physical and lung, but he instead had this symbol. a circle with an x inside.
Tumblr media
see? it’s the same symbol!
i went to ellis island/immigration museum a while back actually, when i went to nyc for vacation. there was a really interesting display about mental testing in ellis island.

Does anyone know what the hell this is?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My grandma found this in a thrift store and everyone we asked has a different theory from bed warmer to spice container to snuff box to tea accessory. The thing in the center unscrews entirely before any of the container things open.

Spider-verse Headcanon #6
Pavitr is totally puts the “buff” in history buff. He gets really heated about Indian history/artifacts. This is partially what fuels his hatred toward the British. Yes, he is salty about the British Museum having their stuff. And yes, he knows all about which artifacts they have there and their significance. And no, he totally hasn’t talked to Hobie about the hypotheticals to pulling a heist on the British Museum.

Hey, you're a fellow history buff? Great! What do you think about how history is taught? Don't you agree that history classes shouldn't be as Eurocentric as they are?
Does the way you perceive a culture change when you learn their history?
Do you think th-
Oh, you're just into WW2, and all you talk is that conflict.
Sorry, I thought you were different.

Pentiment style portraits for @sazeracx and me, based on our family histories!
Emilie Meuniere -- apparently the original version of my irl surname (it means miller!). Family was based originally in l'Ile de Rhé, on the western coast of France. Lace at this time was largely Reticella or Punto en Aria styles, both thread-work styles rather than embroidered or bobbin style (peep at the collar of the shift!) My mom, oddly enough, has taken up reticella lace as of late.......
Laoghaire Moray -- also apparently the contemporary version of L's family name. Laoghaire was another close name to what he decided to choose. He is wearing his academic dress, since he's a man of letters and a Doctor (phd, not medical). A man of letters for those unfamiliar is essentially A Learned Man, a part of the Literati.
Then I asked L if he wanted to explore his farther family history in China - leading to a lot of research about the Ming Dynasty and its art style. He is a scholar-official under the emperor, travelling to Bavaria. Wanted to play with a Sebhat-esque portrait, but for another contemporaneous culture!

Court Martial transcript?
Any American Revolution buffs happen to have a transcript or description of proceedings for how a court martial, as administered in the Continental Army, might have gone?
I have sources referencing dozens of trials and their outcomes, but none get into the protocols.
Could work off of modern examples, but...
Turn fans, any luck?

I've said it before and I'll say it again, yes bridgerton is beautiful and I enjoy it,
However
It is NOT an accurate portrayal of the regency period!!! If you actually want that watch the BBC series version of Pride and Prejudice. Now whenever I'm searching for how to do my regency hairstyles all I get is bridgerton, and I'm not saying don't post your bridgerton things, I'm saying don't say that they are regency. Bridgerton is a prime example of how Hollywood and the TV industry alters things to suit them and what they think is good

aN iNtroDucTioN, i GUeSs
hi! i’m honey, and if i’m being completely honest, i forgot that I’d created this blog, but i never forgot why, to in some way, inspire myself. to challenge my own means of coping, and funnel these thoughts into something worth writing and reading about.
everyone needs some outlet of expression, right? i happen to have many, i’m a freelance photographer, a graphic designer, a painter, a musician, a vocalist, a history buff, an avid reader, and writer. i like poetry, classic romance novels, crocheting, dancing alone in my room, and randomly yelling out whatever phase the moon is in. i like plants, appreciating beauty, classical pieces, musical theatre, classic rock, singer/songwriter tunes, and playing the sims.
i live by the quote that says “you didn’t get this far, to only get this far.” well that, and “you can have my oxford comma when you pry it from my cold, dead, and lifeless hands.”
i know who i am, and the things i want to achieve, and young adulthood in generation z is perhaps the largest whirlwind to have existed on the pinpoint of the human mind.
so, here we are.
and whether anyone gets the opportunity to read this or not, whether it falls across your feed, or you have fallen into a million tumblr rabbit holes to get here.
i’m glad that you are, and i hope that, even beyond your own belief, you appreciate the value you that provide in this very dark world. be it, through your love and compassion, or the way that you pour yourself into your craft, the world will never have another just like you. you are valuable, you are loved, and you are seen. and i can only hope you made it far enough into this blog post to hear that even if no one told you today, you matter.
talk soon, honey.
