Most players manifested a connection to a mob, so it was a bit of a surprise for Xisuma to wake up after an update and realize he'd become one with the moss.

It suited him, though. The green added some lovely texture and gentleness to his otherwise intimidating armor, and the already beautiful lush caves held an even deeper joy for him. There was nothing quite like sinking a hand, or his whole body, into the thick, verdant green to feel across the whole server, an ever-expanding network that served no purpose other than to exist and be gathered.

(It was also a great way to prank people, lying beneath the surface until another Hermit walked nearby, then popping up to call hello and watch them shriek.)

What was most surprising about the whole thing, though, is that it was helpful. As moss made its way into everyone's builds, so too did Xisuma's awareness, when he spread it out. For the sake of privacy, he avoided his friends' bases when merging with his origin—but when someone had a problem, he could fall into the mound of moss he'd made his bed, seek out the Hermit in question, and come far more prepared than he once would have. If nothing else, it took a lot of stress off his mind, and he would never be annoyed with that.

Yes, the moss suited him well.
