now that I'm farther in the show I can say that I don't think nico robin would be a pony in the mlp au (the multiple hands/arms thing is too cool to assign to a hoof-only having race. but if she was a pony I think she'd be earth and not a unicorn as I previously doodled. though flower fruit unicorn could use the ability to make a spike trap and that'd be pretty fun)

the challenge of i should commission art of my ocs. would love to commission like, siiyr or bokrae, maybe krachyn or jula. siiyr or bokrae would make the most sense, maybe krachyn. i think theyre the ones with the most detailed notes on their anatomy
but also
oh god i cannot subject another artist to the anatomical war crimes i committed in making these ocs
#toy txt post#ig id be best off commissioning someone w a lot experience w like. centaurs. let alone commisioning them actually doing anything#interesting. the good bad news is ai cant do it either. fucking i cant even do it. why did i make these bitches. i gave bokrae a gf#but shes not. she cant even. her lips dont really do a kiss shape shes all teeth#siiyr has too many fucking elbows and a weird skull situation#bokraes skull continues to break my brain. i think it does break physics in universe. birdie did weird shit w that eye#its constantly trying to explode#the art ideas i have for bokrae and siiyr have plagued me for years even now in my depression funk of no new ideas#i cant bring myself to subject other artists to them?????#i should specify Bokrae's teeth more tho probably. i used to jokingly explain it away as she has all the teeth/they change#and. they do. canonically birdie has to replace all of her bones over time especially her skull. but also#that was me being lazyyyyyyyyyyyy#idk i know you dont necessarily need like a super detailed ref sheet to commission things but like. if i was commissioning my own ocs id#want that probably?#maybe i will try to draw the girls today. probably not doing anything interesting#bc i have not drawn for One Billion Years and im out of practice with Normal Human Anatomy let alone#these fucking Monsters#also maybe one day ill figure out Jared#pigeon head on a deaths head moth body with gemstone eyes is something i can see in my head but when i try to draw it it doesnt look right#so. need to work on that? the main thing about jared is that he needs to Scuttle#and id like to incorporate a pigeon#hm#hmmmmmmm

"Shall I grant your greatest wish? Hm.. And what will I receive in return? Your company, maybe?"
Sketch of my unicorn centaur Yan, Beau before I crash. A snob of a unicorn who doesn't take kindly to humans making a mess of their forest/home to get to them, sending humans who seek their magic on wild goose chases till they're swallowed up by some forest creature or lost/gave up. It supposes if Darling's good they'll reward them every now and then. He hopes Darling isn't too much of an angel tho.... Fowl mouthed humans and with tempers are....interesting (Bit of a brat tamer if ya catch my drift)
It's hard to see from this angle, but the... right(?) side of their head is trimmed short/shaved. They probably don't have their titties out all the time but I didn't feel like drawing clothes...or their lower half. It's 6am now, night.
Beau uses any pronouns btw

How to Win the Girl
Ominis Gaunt x f!MC - NSFW - Friends to Lovers - 4.9k words - ao3
Part 2

Summary: After hearing her proclaim that she'll only date someone who can beat her in a duel, Ominis grows determined to win her affections by any means necessary.
“I’m a simple man. I’ll snog anything with a decent enough behind.” Sebastian proclaimed matter-of-factly.
She didn’t know how this became the topic of discussion over breakfast at the Great Hall, but she indulged him nonetheless. Ominis seemed completely uninterested in the subject matter, engrossed in a Potions textbook he was currently tracing over diligently with his wand in a last bid attempt to pass the final practical exam.
She cast him a sidelong glance as she cut into her eggs. “I’ll make sure to tell Poppy to keep her mooncalves away from you.”
Sebastian rolled his eyes. “Okay, anything decent and human.” He paused for a moment, contemplating, before he amended. “Actually, no, I did have a little tango with a Centaur some blue moon ago…”
She blinked at him. “You genuinely concern me, you know that?”
“She was cute!” He scoffed defensively. “Excuuuse me for embracing diversity. Pray tell, what are your shining standards, hm?”
She paused for a moment, considering, before she shrugged and took a swig of her pumpkin juice. “He has to beat me in a duel.”
She didn’t notice the way Ominis immediately perked up beside her, unburying his nose from the pages of his book and narrowing his attention on the conversation he had been only half-listening to.
Sebastian snorted. “Ha! Good one. You’ll die alone at that rate. Better start collecting kneazles to keep you company.”
She rolled her eyes. “Just because you’re incompetent with a wand, doesn’t mean every man is, Sebastian.”
“Hey! Incompetent is harsh. I prefer the term mildly handicapped.” He protested. “And just a duel? Like one time?”
“Yup. One duel.”
Sebastian rose resolutely from his seat, slipping from the bench hastily and nearly knocking over several goblets in the process.
“Where on earth are you going?”
“I have to go practice. If I knew a roundabout with the Hero of Hogwarts was on the line I would’ve tried much harder at Crossed Wands.” He gave her a wink.
She grimaced and called out to him as he quickly made his way down the rows of tables towards the exit. “You are excluded from the list of contending bachelors, Sebastian!”
“Square is fair!” He called back and she bit back a laugh at his butchering of the Muggle saying.
Beside her, Ominis looked very much enthralled in the textbook he was only pretending to read, his thoughts instead drifting to other matters. He had spent far too long hopelessly pining for her to not consider the opportunity he was just presented with.
It was no unknown fact that she was notoriously hard to get, and that reality had only served to make him want her even more. It was utter torture.
He was so unused to not getting what he wanted, and the stubborn little witch sitting beside him just so happened to be what he wanted most.
He rose from his seat with much more patience than Sebastian did, though arguably fueled by an even greater determination to finally win her affections.
“Where are you going? I thought we were going to study for Potions together.” She frowned as she watched him slip past her down the Great Hall.
“I’ll make it up to you.”
He made his way to the exit and rushed to the Undercroft in Sebastian’s footsteps, his magic thrumming in his veins with a vibrant, newfound energy.
//
Sebastian crashed into a groaning heap on the stone floor of the Undercroft after the leviosa Ominis had casted wore off after a few seconds.
“Fuck’s sake, Ominis,” he sat up, rubbing his throbbing head. “I thought you said you’d go easy.”
“That was easy.” Ominis crossed his arms, thrumming his fingers impatiently on his forearm as he waited for Sebastian to collect himself and get up again.
He admittedly had been a bit harsher than usual, using this “practice” as an excuse to take out his displeasure and poorly-concealed jealousy in Sebastian trying to win her affections in a duel himself. The mere thought of him anywhere near her had his magic coursing through his wand with an added bite and ferocity that usually wasn’t there.
Sebastian shook the woozy feeling from behind his eyes as he positioned himself in an offensive stance again. The first hex had barely slipped off his tongue before Ominis had a protego up and was veering a counteroffensive stinging jinx towards him.
No matter how fast he cast, the blonde always seemed to be one step ahead, moving lithely around the stone pillars in the Undercroft while Sebastian lept and rolled out of the way of his spells.
It didn’t take long for Sebastian to inevitably cry forfeit, after a barreling confringo missed his head by a few centimeters, singing the tips of his brown locks.
Ominis made his way over and outstretched a hand to help his friend off the ground. The brunette instead took this as an opportunity to tug him to the floor along with him.
He rolled his eyes. “Very mature, Sebastian.”
“Maturity is one of my many attractive qualities, you should know this by now, Ominis.”
“Yes, right there alongside your dueling abilities.” He jeered. “So…where do these duels take place, anyways?”
//
Ominis warily dodged the sounds of hexes and charms as he made his way through the dueling club towards Lucan Brattleby. Approaching the Gryffindor, he placed the few galleons for the entrance fee on the counter in front of him.
“I’d like to duel, please.”
Lucan eyed him up and down with poorly-concealed disbelief. “You’d like to duel?”
Ominis’ jaw set. “Did I stutter?” He nodded his head towards where he had heard her engrossed in a duel with a trio of upper-years when he walked in. “And I’d like to duel her.”
Lucan laughed as if the blonde had told a terrific joke, and then when he noticed Ominis had remained completely stoic and unamused, quieted. “Oh, you’re serious?”
Ominis’ fists tensed at his sides. He was used to being underestimated due to his condition, but it didn’t make the blatant disrespect any less infuriating. “Are you going to let me fight or not?”
“Well, we have a hierarchy here, mate.” Lucan scoffed. “You can’t just walk in and duel someone. Especially not someone her level. You start at the bottom rank and win your way up.”
Ominis was mentally restraining himself from engaging in his own duel with the annoying little prat in front of him when Sebastian made his way over and clapped a hand over the blonde’s shoulders with a grin.
“Come to watch me fight, old pal?”
Ominis turned and raised an eyebrow and Sebastian winced. “Er…poor choice of words, sorry.”
“I’ve come to participate, actually.”
Sebastian raised his brows. “Against me? You haven’t battered me to your satisfaction already?”
“No, not against you, although I’ll admit I’ll never be satisfied with any level of battering I’m allowed to inflict on you.” He nodded his head towards where she was still battling on the mats. “Against her.”
Sebastian’s brows reached his hairline now. “Ominis Gaunt, you little minx.” He butted the blonde’s shoulder playfully. “Trying to conquer her for yourself, eh? How come this is the first I’m hearing about this?”
Ominis rolled his eyes. “Don’t be so crass, Sebastian. I don’t want to conquer her, how antiquated.” He muttered admonishingly. “I want to prove myself to her. But, someone here won’t let me.” He narrowed his eyes at Lucan who had been listening curiously to their conversation.
Lucan steepled his fingers over his chin contemplatively. “Hold on. You said Ominis Gaunt, right? As in…heir-of-Slytherin, dark-magic, rich-up-the-wazoo, Gaunt?”
Ominis’s mouth set into a line at his family’s notoriety before giving a reluctant nod.
“I’ll tell you what. Pay triple the entrance fee and I’ll let you jump ahead and get your ass kicked by your little girlfriend.”
Ominis fished out the hefty sum of galleons from his pocket and slammed it on the counter, not pleased, but certainly in no position of loss by the demand. He’d be willing to pay a hundred times the amount if it meant a chance at winning her hand.
“Pleasure doing business with you.” Lucan greedily pocketed the money before handing the blonde his entrance slip, indicating his place for the duel. “Also, hope you’re aware that no Unforgivables are allow—”
Ominis scowled before yanking the ticket from his hand. “Sod off.”
He cut past the crowd of onlookers and found his place in line by the mats where she was dueling, that same ardent determination making his magic hum in his core as he listened to her cast spell after spell.
He couldn’t deny he felt a bit nervous about actually being in a battle with her. He had thrown around Sebastian in the Undercroft enough times, but never had he faced an opponent as formidable as her. Every incantation rolled off her tongue with a practiced amount of ease, short and concise, and he didn’t have to see her to know she was barely breaking a sweat as she fought off three foes on her own.
He would have to be creative if he were going to come out victorious.
When the match was declared a definitive win for her, she made her way off the dueling mats and broke into a smile when she caught sight of Ominis on the outskirts of the crowd.
“Ominis! What’re you doing here?”
He held up his queue slip. “Whatever one normally does at a dueling club.”
The corner of her mouth quirked in subtle amusement. “I’ll be eager to see your skills in the arena.”
“You’ll see them, alright.” He smirked. “We’re up next.”
She was certainly surprised by this revelation, but to his satisfaction, made no doubtful comments about his sparring abilities. Instead, she stretched her shoulders and promptly got back onto the dueling mat, beckoning for him to follow.
“Come on, then. I’ll make this quick for you.”
//
She in fact did not make this quick for him.
She was soon greatly impressed by the realization that Ominis was actually an incredibly talented duelist.
Sharp and agile, every swish of his wand calculated and precise. She was half-convinced his lack of sight actually led him to have even quicker reflexes than her average opponent, deflecting every single one of her spells with ease.
Her pleasant curiosity quickly turned into begrudging frustration, though, when they’d been throwing hexes back and forth with no considerable gain made on either of their parts.
Never one to accept a draw, she cast the next spell with a little bit of extra ferocity, determined to at least knock the blonde off his feet and pull this duel that had stretched on for far too long now closer to its end.
Unfortunately, she underestimated her own strength, and had caught Ominis in an unfortunate blind-spot —pun unintended— flinging him backwards across the arena. He landed with a sickening thud on the floor after colliding with one of the arched pillars in the room.
She winced as she knew that must’ve hurt. Badly.
Which is why to her concern, and increasing horror, Ominis hadn’t let out even a single whimper of pain. Instead, lying completely motionless and cold, sprawled out on the flagstone floor.
Her stomach sank.
Immediately, she ran over to him, her wand slipping from her fingers and clattering to the floor as she fought the nauseating dread inside of her at the thought of having seriously hurt him.
Sinking to her knees before him, she immediately took his face in her hands, scouring over him for any signs of serious injuries.
She had only briefly noticed the slightest quirk of his lips, before she was flipped over onto her back with his wand pressed under her chin, his hips bracketing hers to the floor as he held her down with his weight.
Several emotions passed through her at once. First, the terrified dread dissipated from her system, quickly replaced by molten-hot anger at being so cruelly tricked, which then morphed into something almost akin to admiration for someone actually having gotten the best of her for once.
Strangest of all though, was the budding feeling of something else pulling just below her navel, as she realized just how close they were in this position. His hips pressed flush against hers, his breath ghosting her lips almost imperceptibly. Her entire body warmed.
Ominis held the most self-satisfied smirk she’d ever seen hovering above her, levels of smugness to rival even that of Sebastian’s, as he kept his wand pressed firmly under her chin with one hand and her wrists pinned tightly to the ground in his other.
Finally, she mustered the ability to speak, though her voice regrettably came out a lot more unsteady than intended with the feel of his body on hers making her thoughts hazy.
“Get—get off me!”
Ominis tsked, shaking his head. “Make me.” He tilted his head and his lips curled at the corners, infuriatingly sly. “Use your wand, go on.”
She struggled against his hand futilely, but quickly realized that even if she was strong enough to free her wrists, she had recklessly abandoned her wand about ten feet away on the floor in her panic. She whined in frustration.
“Forfeit?”
“No!” She protested, her pride getting the better of her. Though she quickly realized that wandless and pinned underneath a wizard nearly twice her size, she had little leeway in turning around the outcome of this duel.
He raised an eyebrow expectantly as he waited patiently for the little gears in her head to turn and click and realize that she had actually lost.
She had never lost a duel before.
She expected to feel devastated. To have suffered an agonizing blow to her ego, to feel mortified, something. But instead she could feel nothing but mesmerization as she stared up at Ominis above her, features cool and nonplussed.
He had won. Square is fair.
Finally, she relented and muttered through gritted teeth, “Fine. I lost. Now get off me.”
He grinned as he finally slipped off her, her cheeks proceeding to heat even more at the brief brush of the front of his trousers against hers. As she sat up from the floor, she noticed with even greater embarrassment that the entire club had stopped what they were doing to gawk at them.
She wanted to sink into the floor and disappear.
Quickly picking up her wand from where it had been discarded on the floor, she cleared her throat and with as much practiced sportsmanship as she could muster, directed a tight, “Good game.” towards Ominis before promptly departing from the hall.
It wasn’t long before she heard the tell-tale sounds of footsteps tailing her down the corridor. She glanced back to see Ominis jogging to catch up.
“Where are you going?”
She sighed. “Ominis, if you plan on rubbing it in my face how much of a better duelist you are, I’m really not in the mood.”
“What? I’m by no means better. Honestly, I don’t even come anywhere close.” He settled into pace beside her, his tone sympathetic and understanding. “I just had…stronger motivations.”
She looked up at him curiously and reluctantly decided to indulge him. She crossed her arms and stilled in her tracks, raising an eyebrow inquisitively. “Stronger motivations?”
He nodded. “That’s what it’s really all about, isn’t it?” He stepped closer to her as he continued, “It doesn’t really matter how powerful you are, only what you’re willing to do to win. Willpower supersedes strength by brute force.”
“How ambitious, spoken like a true Slytherin.” She teased with an eye roll. “Tell me, then, what strong motivations are behind Ominis Gaunt’s willpower?”
His lips curled into something almost predatory, and she had never seen him look the way he did now in the dim light of the secluded hallway. Usually so soft-spoken and unimposing, Ominis looked as if he had just won some grand prize she was unaware of. He crowded her against a woven tapestry adorning the wall and her breath caught in her throat.
A sticky-hot warmth seeped through her as she found herself once again pinned under the compelling presence of the blonde in front of her. Her eyes instinctively flitted to his lips, and for some reason she expected him to kiss her then.
For some reason she wanted him to.
Instead, he pulled away, slipping his hand into hers and interlacing their fingers.
“Come on. I’ll show you.”
She found she could do little more but mindlessly obey at the moment.
//
Ominis couldn’t wipe the smile from his face as he pulled her along down long corridors, leading her to the secluded stretch of empty classrooms in the northern wing of the castle.
He had never witnessed the hard-headed little witch so incredibly flustered before. It was a terribly addicting feeling.
And although he usually prided himself on being so decorous and patient, he couldn’t help but throw all caution to the wind as he strode hastily down the halls in an urgent bid to finally get her alone.
His heart thrummed in his chest at the very thought.
Clicking open the door to an empty classroom with a wordless alohomora, he dragged her inside and pushed her against the door immediately, body pressed flushed to hers.
He half-expected her to hex his bollocks off at his imprudence, but when she did little more than let out a soft squeak of surprise, he leaned into her even further.
“Where’s your wand?”
His lips were so close, she could barely even think straight.
“In — In my pocket.”
He smiled in satisfaction at the dazedness in her voice, her breath coming out in short little pants against his lips. He slipped his arm down to feel for her pocket and she gasped when she felt his hand grope at her thigh.
“Good,” He murmured when he felt the familiar wood poking through the pocket of her skirt. “If you’d like me to stop, use it. We both know you have no trouble defending yourself.”
Before she could ask stop what, his lips were capturing hers in a suffocating kiss, her words dying on a gasp.
Even if she did possess the current mental capacities to slip a hand into her pocket and fling him off her, she had no idea why she would ever want to. He felt heavenly.
He groaned into her mouth when she sank into the kiss, slipping a hand to hold her jaw, pressing himself further against her to keep her pinned and still just where he wanted her.
She had never felt so utterly listless and weak.
Stripped of all reason, a melting puddle of warm sensations as his tongue met hers and explored her mouth in earnest. Her legs had gone limp the moment he had pressed his lips to hers, and she was more than grateful for the way his hips were currently supporting her against the door.
The kiss was far from anything she would’ve expected from the ever-composed and austere Ominis Gaunt. It was messy and lewd, too starved for any sense of decorum, leaving her spit-sticky and aching until she could barely even recall her own name.
“Fuck,” He whispered, breathless, as he came up for a brief moment of air. He was seemingly just as wrecked as she was, his voice hoarse. “I’ve wanted to taste this pretty little mouth for so, so—”
The whimper she let out as she instinctively pressed her lips back against his was nothing short of pathetic, but Ominis seemed to have adored it if the twitch she felt against her hips was any indicator.
The way he rutted softly against her as he took her lips in kiss after bruising kiss made her head dizzy. Seemingly brought to his limit, he pulled her away from the door in favor of pinning her against one of the empty desks instead, slotting himself in between her legs.
She gasped when she felt him then, throbbing and strained against his trousers.
He huffed an amused breath of a laugh. “Feel that?” He nosed at her jaw, inhaling the intoxicating scent of lavender that made him throb even more in his pants. “That’s what you do to me.”
Her head fell back when his tongue connected with the soft, sensitive skin of her neck, licking a greedy stripe down her throat as if he wanted to sink his teeth into her.
He felt like a man starved. He was so tired of being patient, of hopelessly longing for her from a distance.
Actually having her there, in his hands, soft and pliable and mewling his name as he peppered her skin in kisses, licks, and love bites, was enough to almost make him lose all sense of self-restraint.
Hell, it was almost enough to make him finish in his trousers he quickly noticed as he drew his hips back with a hiss. He flipped her onto her stomach on the wooden surface before he got ahead of himself.
She gasped from his assertiveness, at just how out of control he seemed, usually so reserved and cautious. That flicker of desire inside of her roared into tumultuous, consuming flames.
He slipped a hand into her pocket and grabbed her wand, placing it on the desk right above her head in eyesight.
“What did I say?”
She panted, thoughts hazy, but tried to construct some semblance of a coherent sentence anyway. “If I — I want you to stop, use it.”
“Mhm,” He hummed in approval before pressing a kiss to her temple. “Good girl.”
She preened at the praise, arching back into him, feeling him pressed stiffly against her arse, thick and so incredibly stiff through the fabric of his trousers.
She wanted to burn all her pride and beg him to fuck her, touch her, anything to satiate the unbearable yearning inside.
“Needy little witch,” He grunted as he felt her rub herself back against him. He brought a hand to her hips to still her. “Be patient, hm? I’ve been patient for you, haven’t I?”
She nodded, forehead falling to lay against the desk as she let his hands explore her, groping the soft flesh in his strong fingers. He leaned over her, his breath warm against the shell of her ear.
“So fucking patient.” He murmured as he ran his hands down her sides in admiration. “Do you have any idea how long I’ve waited? How many times I’ve come into my own hand thinking of you bent over for me just like this?” He nipped at her ear, scraping a biting kiss down her jaw until she whined from the sting. His cock ached in his trousers with every little noise she made.
Unable to bear it any longer, he fisted her skirt in his hands and tugged the fabric over her hips in a single, succinct motion. Her breath hitched in her throat but she made no move for her wand, sitting idly by where her hand was palm down on the surface of the table.
“Gorgeous,” He breathed against her skin, tugging her blouse down one shoulder so his lips could find contact with the sensitive patch of skin there. “So perfect for me.”
His fingers trailed up her thighs and quickly found their way between her legs, rubbing soft, slow swirls over her knickers. The way he had been talking to her, touching her almost reverently, had already left an embarrassingly sticky mess between her thighs.
Ominis groaned as soon as he felt it seeping through the sheer fabric. “I need to be inside of you.”
He hooked a finger into the hem of her knickers and tugged it down her legs, helping her step out of it before tucking it into his pocket. He pressed against her again and she squirmed from the feeling of the bulk of him against her bare cunt.
“Look at you. Making such a mess on my trousers.” He ground his hips into her even more as he felt her wetness sully the fabric.
She keened. “Please, Ominis…”
“Please what?” She heard the metal clink of his belt as he began to divest himself behind her and she clenched around nothing in anticipation.
She tucked her face into her hands, desire sending blood to her cheeks as she finally reduced herself to begging. “Please, please, please fuck me,”
His forehead fell to her shoulder at the sound of her pleading, his grip turning vice-like on her hip. She felt him then, the blunt tip of his cock pressed right against her entrance.
“This is what you want?”
She nodded fervently, her head fallen lax against the table. He tangled his fingers into her hair and tugged her up until her back was pressed to his chest not letting her hide from him.
“Say it.” He gritted through clenched teeth. “Tell me this is what you want.”
“Please, please, oh Gods, I— I want this, I want this so—”
Her words died on a strangled gasp as he sheathed himself completely inside of her. Her legs went limp, and she would’ve fallen forward if he didn’t snake a hand around her waist to keep her flush to him, her head falling back against his shoulder.
“Always knew you’d have the tightest little cunt.” He pressed a kiss against her warm cheek, his breathing heavy against her skin as he hummed in approval at the feeling of her squeezing him. “Alright? Hurts?”
She shook her head, grinding her hips back against his in a show of just how good it felt.
He huffed a laugh at her eagerness before easing his own hips back and bringing them back to meet hers again. This time, he let her fall forward onto the desk, her nails digging into the wood as she moaned from the intrusion. He felt so big inside of her, stretching her out so deliciously until she felt full to the brim.
Her hip bones bit into the desk as his thrusts slowly became more forceful, jolting her and pressing into that sensitive little spot on her walls that made her toes curl. When her wand clattered to the floor following a particularly hard thrust, her lips parted in awe at the wandless bit of magic he used to bring it to his hand and back into her eyesight.
She had never been more attracted to the wizard currently fucking her senseless.
She couldn’t contain the sounds spilling from her mouth as he fucked into the desk, pathetic and utterly depraved noises that seemed to only spur him on even more. His pace grew punishing, pulling similarly debased noises from the back of his throat as he slid in and out of her.
“Kiss me. Gods, fucking kiss me.” He groaned, taking her jaw in hand and tilting her chin back so he could capture her lips. She moaned into his mouth and he responded in kind, nipping at her bottom lip until she squeaked. He’d never get enough of these noises.
“Perfect. Fucking. Witch.” He grunted, and his voice was low and rough, a wrecked, gravelly mess as he continued to rut harshly inside of her. “Mine now, aren’t you? All mine. Fuck.”
She nodded fervently, feeling inclined to agree to just about anything coming from his mouth when he was pushing her so close to release, building up that aching knot behind her navel and winding it tighter and tighter.
He could feel her walls fluttering around him, feel just how close to the edge she was. Reaching a hand in front of them to rub tight little circles between her legs, he pressed his lips to her ear.
“That’s it, you’re so close, aren’t you,? I can feel you tightening around me. Be a good girl and come on my cock.”
The combined feeling of his hand between her thighs, him thrusting so perfectly inside of her, and the filthy things he was whispering in her ears, was enough to push her over the edge.
She came with a sharp cry, her entire body trembling while he continued to fuck her through her climax, falling over the edge along with her. She felt a warmth coat her insides as he pumped inside of her, his face tucked into her neck while he murmured incoherent praises into her skin.
He kissed all over any exposed patch of skin he could find as he tried to regain some semblance of composure, his chest heaving. He mouthed softly at her jaw as he finally pulled out, and she winced at the slight soreness from the abrasion. His brows knit together.
“Did I hurt you?”
She shook her head, giggling at his sudden concern. “I’m okay.”
He looked unconvinced as he collected her in his arms. “Do you promise?”
She smiled and leaned forward to press a kiss to his lips. “I’m fine, I promise. Probably won’t be able to walk properly for a few days, but…”
He chuckled. “Well, that won’t do, I have a date planned for us. Will I have to carry you through the castle in my arms? A bit of a forward way to announce our relationship, but I’ll oblige I suppose…”
He made to wrap her legs around his waist and she bat at his arms. “Awfully presumptuous of you to assume we’re in a relationship already, Ominis.” She raised an eyebrow.
He returned the inquisitive look. “I’ve met your terms, haven’t I?”
She sighed and wrapped her arms around his neck, tucking her head against his chest. She couldn’t help the warm, fuzzy feeling she felt deep in her stomach, possibly a side-effect of all the post-orgasm endorphins making her head buzz. Nonetheless, she felt inclined to peck his cheek and concede with a smile.
“Yes. I suppose you have.”

Over the years, she’s come to accept her life. Did it hurt when it felt like her entire life ended? Of course. Does it still hurt when she turns on the television to see them basically rubbing it on her face? —Whatever.
In theory, she probably could’ve gotten away with it had she not been a daughter of one of the big three—thanks a lot, dad. —but it was proven one too many times that it was not safe for her or any of the other kids. If it didn’t put anyone else’s life at risk, she would’ve disobeyed her mother, she really would (she was a child, she really hasn’t grasped the full concept of what other people would feel).
But, you know, oh well.
It’s sixteen years later and she still has that lingering grudge in the back of her head as the screen plays another Grand Prix — another Grand Prix she could’ve probably been a part of.
She tried, she really tried so hard to forget about it, to let go of it, but again, it was proven to be way too hard to let go of something she had an actual chance of, an actual good chance.
Though it might be hard to let go, she couldn’t really complain much about the life she actually had now.
Sure, it gets pretty lonely sometimes being a forbidden child, there weren’t exactly much of them (that are known and living at camp). But she had everyone else, despite practically being an only child at camp, to her everyone else there were her little siblings—of course, that probably has something to do with the fact that she was the oldest camper and the one who has been there longest.
When she heard a set of the all-too-familiar clops her heart dropped from its current fast-paced beating.
She quickly closed your laptop shut, cringing when you heard how loud of a sound it had made. That was it. She didn’t even try hiding her disappointment in herself. She slowly emerged from under the blanket with her lips tightly-wound shut, bracing herself with whatever the Centaur will have to say, her mind playing a quick telepathic farewell to her laptop.
“Hello, Y/N.”
She sighed, “Chiron.”
“Where and how?”
She swallowed the pre-existing nerves in her throat, “Mr. D.”
He hummed in response, so she continued.
“A pack of Heineken and two bottles of Jack Daniels.”
“Hm, good picks.” She responded lowly under her breath with a small ‘yeah’ as Chiron walked closer to the head of her bed near the bed-side table—his hooves making clopping noises each step.
The silence was taking too long to her liking so she just went to get it over with, “So, you’re gonna take it away from me?” she paused, then mumbling under her breath for herself, “—it’s probably another Red Bull win, anyway.”
Apparently, it was loud enough for the Centaur to hear, making him chuckle.
Surprisingly, he didn’t mention anything else about the laptop, “Who do you support?”
Hearing the question quickly made her look up from her fidgeting hands to see the smile on his face, she screwed her brows in confusion as she continues to look at Chiron for—something. Then, realizing that he was still waiting for an answer, she shook her head.
“Uhm—well, uh—”
“You think that Lando will ever get a win?”
That seemed to loosen her up, “Ugh, Gods, I hope. I’m getting exhausted over here—you know, sometimes I really wish I could ask the Oracle about it.”
He chuckled then which made her crack a smile.
When it died down, Chiron looked at her smiling face. He couldn’t help but frown a little, he knew how she felt about racing, he knew how she still feels about it.
“Y/N.”
She looks up at him, “Yeah?”
“So, I am aware that your birthday is nearing…”
“I mean… why wouldn’t you be? I’m here all-year-round.”
Chiron cleared his throat at her interruption, giving her a look.
“Sorry.”
He acknowledged and continued, “I am also aware that it lines up with a certain event…”
She raised an eyebrow it that, almost guessing what that said ‘event’ was.
“So,” he stopped, initially had her thinking he was just pausing but when he left out the door of her cabin she raised her hands as if saying ‘what gives?’
Seconds passed and it seemed like Chiron wasn’t going to come back any time soon so instead she stumbled off of her bed to quickly catch up to the Centaur that was headed to a building—the girl almost caught up to him, almost following him into the building but he was already back out in a good few seconds, stopping her right in front of the set of stairs, raising both her hands in question once more, “You just left. ‘So’, what?”
“I have it arranged that you will be attending the Miami Grand Prix.” He smiled as he handed her a lanyard.
She swore her eyes looked like it could’ve popped out of their sockets in a matter of seconds. She couldn’t believe what she was holding; a paddock pass. She couldn’t believe Chiron had done this for her considering how careful of a man (well, half-man) he is especially with her being a forbidden child. This was about to turn into the best birthday yet.
When she looked up to the smiling Chiron, her mouth still hung open in shock but her arms immediately wrapped around the man’s body in a bone-crushing hug.
She didn’t know how many ‘thank you’s that spilled out of her mouth but next thing she knew he was hugging her back with a chuckle escaping his lips.
After a few more ‘thank you’s from her, she pulled away smiling at him, “I thought you’d rather keep me here forever, why now?”
He cleared his throat, “Well, you are turning twenty-one, not many of you reach that kind of age—don’t tell them I said that—so I’d like to make it a bit more special.”
Still smiling, she looked at the paddock pass in her hand again, “You don’t know how much I appreciate this, Chi. Thank you, again.”

Being there felt… odd… unnatural.
She always thought if she were ever walking through the paddocks she would be walking as a driver.
What was even more odd was she felt her senses tingling, like she was being watched.
It was a bustling crowded place with many more interesting people compared to her, so it was weird to her that she felt like she was being watched of all people.
But alas, she brushed it off. It didn’t feel like anything bad—if it were, she would know—so she’s just going to have to save that thought for later.
She had to remind herself why she’s here; daydream in real-time of what could’ve been.
Yeah, she weren’t really keen on letting that go.
That is, until she was into her head she failed to notice the person—and group of people that came with said person—she was running into.
Before she knew it, a strong arm was holding her back with too much force for her liking, the action itself almost kicking in her self defense instinct until the person she did bump into pushed the hand away.
He was now talking to her, she assumed, but she was too focused on the person who had pushed her away.
Something about him felt… off. He was what she would count as freakishly huge for a normal human being, her eyes couldn’t help but recalculate the large man over and over until eventually the person that has been trying to get her attention snaps her out of it.
“Sorry, that’s Theo, he’s like that. I swear he doesn’t mean any harm.”
The scowl she hadn’t realized that made it’s way to her face slowly dropped as she slowly move her gaze to the person that was talking to her.
When their eyes met, she swore she saw a flash of something pass by his expression.
“Yeah,” she finally let go of this ‘Theo’ person and found her words, “Sorry I bumped into you.”
“That’s fine.” There was a brief silence across them until he cleared his throat, “I’m Logan, by the way.”
“Yeah, I know. You drive for Williams.” She replied flatly.
He cleared his throat again, scanning her for the shortest moment, “Do I know you?”
She looked to his eyes again with a small squint. “Most likely not. Good luck, bye.”
Before he could say anything else she was already speed-walking away. And for some odd reason, Logan found himself watching her walk away before getting pulled away himself just in the same time as the girl turned around to give a watchful eye.

It was getting annoying. This was supposed to be a weekend to enjoy but she could not help but feel that uneasiness creeping up on her. Over the years she had somewhat mastered the ability—well more the ability mastering her—of sensing bad things, whether that was events or creatures alike.
So, to simply put that together, that’s how she found herself sneaking around the Williams garage. Not hospitality, garage.
From years of quests here and there, many hours of weapons training, and not to mention capture the flag schemings with other campers, she had mastered the skill of being sneaky. It really did work well in her favor.
What she didn’t expect was to be completely entranced the moment she got into the busy garage; it was the first time she was seeing a real life-size F1 car in real-time.
Everything was so enchanting to her, it felt like she was reliving her childhood dreams all over again. When she had gone through with her plan, she didn’t really register the fact that she was going to go face to face with an actual working Formula One garage.
She really tried to stay focused on the task at hand but it really was in her blood to be unfocused.
“Hey!”
Somehow, just somehow, she had heard his voice over the loud noises around her and just somehow, she knew he was addressing her.
Immediately, she tried to hide or duck behind something—anything just so she didn’t have to face him.
Before she knew it a hand was gripping her upper arm and pulling her somewhere quieter and she was met with green eyes that looked at her with suspicion.
“Are you like a fan or something?”
She was taken aback by his words.
“…what?”
“Are you following me?”
“What—no. I mean not you specifically—why did I say that.” she whispered the last part to herself. If she was being honest, she hasn’t really been brushing up her skills in socializing with anyone else that weren’t the campers.
“What do you mean?”
“Nothing! I—”
Their conversation—if you could’ve called it that anyway—was interrupted by the same man she had been suspecting from earlier.
“There you are.” It was the first time she was hearing his voice and just by that she already knew that they were going to be in big trouble. His voice was low and unnerving, saying the words as if he’s been searching for them not for worried purposes rather unfortunate ones.
Logan didn’t seem to have the same feeling as her as he looked more relieved among other things to see the man. “Theo!” he greeted while throwing his hands in the air, “What’s up, man?”
Fortunately for Logan, Theo wasn’t exactly paying attention to him instead looking at the girl in front of him instead.
When he noticed he tried to interfere, “Oh, no, don’t worry about her, she’s not harmful.” He then realized he didn’t exactly know this girl so he looked at her with questioning eyes, “You aren’t, right?”
Except her focus didn’t waver from the big man that looked at her with a stare that tried to kill.
Logan, still clueless, looked between the two back and forth in confusion until Theo said something that really caught his attention.
“Daughter of Poseidon.” Theo growled.
Logan’s head couldn’t snap towards her faster.
“Shit.” She mumbled under her breath.
Before they knew it, she had grabbed a hold of his hand and running away with it, Logan still very much in shock at this new information he attained.
Through empty places and crowded ones, the girl forgot that the man she had ahold of weren’t just anyone but a very real and hard-to-miss Formula One driver. Sure, he was a rookie but a driver nonetheless.
But she couldn’t care less about the attention she was gaining; she was far too busy running for her life than think about cameras and the public.
“What the hell was he talking about? Poseidon?!” she didn’t answer his panicked question so he continued instead, “Are you a half-blood too?”
The ‘too’ in his question was what finally caught her attention but still, she didn’t answer him, only cursing herself for not noticing one when she saw one.
Just when she thought they had lost them, the monster once disguised as Theo was standing there at the end of the opening, she and Logan had slipped in.
Next thing she knew she was fumbling around trying to fight off the apparent Giant that was Theo.
“What the hell are you doing there, mind a little help over here?” she yelled over at Logan who was pretty much… useless in the corner.
He continued to panic, looking for anything he could use to get the Giant off of her.
Suddenly, while she was struggling to get the Giant’s grip off of her, the force stopped as a cloud of mist poofed where the monster was once before. She quickly scrambled herself up and was met with a figure in McLaren clothing holding a gold-dust colored weapon pointing at her.
“Oscar Piastri?!”
He didn’t answer her, dagger still pointing at her direction, “Who are you?”
Putting her hands out in defense she explained herself, “I respect that.” she commented, “I’m Y/N L/N, I am the daughter of Poseidon,” then she cautiously pointed at the Australian, “I’m assuming you’re a half-blood too.” she nodded at him, “Who do you belong to?”
Oscar then slowly lowered his weapon, his trust building by the minute, “Athena.”
Then both of them turn to Logan simultaneously.
“No!” he got defensive immediately, “I want to know what just happened!” he pointed accusingly.
All of a sudden, it just finally hit Oscar, “Poseidon?!”
The sea god’s daughter made a face and ignored the Australian, “What do you mean what just happened? Typical demigod stuff!”
The look on his face made her double-take, “You… do have occasional encounters with monsters here and there… right?”
When Logan’s expression doesn’t change, she turns to Oscar.
“I have this for a reason.” He said slowly, showing her the dagger. “—and, well, if I’m being honest, that has never happened before.”
“Shit.” she shakes her head in disappointment then pulling out her phone, “I need to make a phone call.”
She left the two men by themselves and went ahead as the line rings a couple of times before getting an answer.
After a brief conversation—that will continue later for details—the girl locked her phone and walked towards the two drivers.
“You’re coming with me this summer. It will not be up for debate and don’t worry about your… duties, I have it covered.”
Logan was quick to stop her explanations, “Wait—what—no! At least explain what the hell that phone call was about. You can’t just drop all that on us and expect us to be okay with it.
She rolls her eyes, “I’ll explain later, right now, you two have a job to do.” They didn’t object to that, the three of them walking out the pretty-hidden space the Giant had decided to corner them before.
Oscar stopped just outside, “I can take care of myself if anything else decide to come out and attack me, you should probably go with him. And uh, I actually need to talk to you,” he pointed at her, “—later. Not exactly letting you off the hook that easily.”
She didn’t complain.
The two walked in silence, every once in a while getting stopped for a picture and such, until Logan speaks up.
“Apollo.”
She turned to him, eyebrow raised.
“My dad.”
“Oh.” She paused then comments, “Fitting.”
He didn’t know what it was in her voice, it didn’t sound exactly like a compliment but he wasn’t sure if it was an insult.
Whatever, he shrugged it off.
After that, they both went into their own train of thoughts.
Without noticing, they both sucked in a breath in unison.
“I’m sorry for—”
“I think you should—”
The two quickly stepped back from whatever it was they were going to say, heat rushing up their necks. They kept walking on the awkward silence that fell upon them until Logan re-focused his attention and remembering what she had said—well, what she almost said earlier.
“Wait—‘sorry’? What were you apologizing for?” he turned to her who was now ducking away from his eyes, her own focus stayed on her fidgeting hands.
She made a noise before finally finding her words, “It’s just—this always happens, you know. I’m a forbidden kid, I attract the worst kind of trouble there is for half-bloods. And earlier; I had brought it to you and Oscar.” he was going to say something to ease her guilt but she beat him to it, “I’m just glad that monster didn’t hurt any of you.” She threw her hands in the air, “I mean, it’s qualifying day for Gods sake! —maybe I shouldn’t go to the race tomorrow.” She mumbled the last part to herself, though not quietly enough that the driver didn’t hear.
Logan was taken aback by her statement, giving him an opening on his almost-offer.
“What—no! Why not?” he asked.
“Look, it’s bad enough that there’s two demigods in one place; adding a forbidden kid in the mix won’t really make it any better. I still want everyone to have a safe race. Who knows what kind of other monsters I could attract.”
From every point of view Logan could gather, it was simply a fact that this girl knows about their world far more than he did, far more than Oscar did, so he couldn’t really be the voice of judgement in whatever she had to say. But… he wanted her to stay.
It calmed him down for some reason, knowing someone shares the same—if not, worse—fate as you.
So, he tried to find a reason, a good reason to make her stay. Of course, he wasn’t a pro at this half-blood thing so he offered something that he was familiar with. He gave her a more… human reason.
“I think you should stay.” He blurted.
“Logan—”
“Dude—is it alright if I called you that?”
“Uh, go nuts.”
“You deserve to have some fun, watch a race! I’ll even have you as an official Williams guest!”
She hummed with a smile creeping up.
“And if you’re worried about trouble, that’s fine. We can always handle trouble! We are all trouble-bound any way, better face them now than later! Plus, I think it’d be good if you could teach us the basics early.”
She felt the warmth spread through her chest. It’s been a while since she felt someone so welcoming that wasn’t anyone within Camp Half-blood. It was nice. He was nice. Almost made her forget that she was in the place she was meant to be in.
Her heart felt wholesome, but didn’t make it show, her mouth couldn’t stop the comment from escaping her mouth instead.
“You really want me to stay, huh?”

AEIWAM - Some details about whats going on with Komamura. IIRC canon said he was a werewolf, are you doing anything with him?
Me: What IS Komamura's backstory? Me: *reads backstory and eventual canon fate of Komamura* Me: Hm. Me: That's thematically weird and depressing. Me: I'll just ignore that :)

So in An Elephant Is Warm And Mushy, there's ALL KINDS of animal-people and supernatural creatures of varying degrees of anthropomorphic states in the Soul Society! Wolf people! Yokai! Centaurs But Bad! Snake people (sneople)! Mothmen! Whatever the fuck The Philosopher Wax is! Hell, Zaraki Kenpachi was raised by eagles! More nonhuman persons than you can shake a stick at!
They just stay away from the humans because The Humans are TERRIBLE.
...Not as terrible as my immediate family though, The Young Wolf is willing to gamble. he has to leave his home suddenly, in the middle of the night, frightened and injured. Family feuds are bad enough, but a drought year for a large group of apex carnivores and great-grandmother dying and creating a power vacuum? I'm lucky I got out alive! He reasons, tightening the bandages and wincing.
It doesn't look so bad. he lies to himself, looking at his reflection in the where he had finally collapsed from exhaustion and blood loss the previous night and somehow woke up alive this morning. Great-Grandfather did me a favor, trying to bite me in half like that- a tail would just make it even harder to blend in with the humans!
...Clothes would help more though. He sighs.
One man's trash is another's treasure, and that has never been more true than in the case of wolves that want to live with humans. The Young Wolf nearly weeps with joy when he finds the dump- barely-rotted animal carcasses to eat! broken wood for a fire! and clothes! Big enough to fit him! Alright that's definitely a bloodstain with a big, sort of sword-slash-shaped hole in the middle, but nothing a dunk in the river won't solve!
...Or not. Well, at least being covered in mud is less suspicious than being covered in blood? How does this thing even go on anyway? The garment is so confusing, he almost doesn't hear the humans who came to dump something until they are nearly upon him, and realizing they'll panic if they see his face, he grabs a broken basket and jams it over his head.
"Hey!" one of the humans calls out, seeing the movement. "What're you?" An old man peers around the pile at him, curious.
The Young Wolf sputters- he's heard tales of humans before, but this is the first human he's ever actually seen- The stories tell of their strange dark eyes and flattened faces how their fur is so fine they're nearly bald all over, and this man fits the description perfectly. An old woman- he guesses this one is a Woman, because what little fur she has is longer- she appears behind him, equally curious, then smacks the man under the ear.
"You dummy!" She snaps. "That's a monk!"
"Big damn monk!" The man laughs- indeed, even though he's one of the smallest of his people and not even grown, The Young Wolf towers over him- but still, he extends his open hand. Like the stories say, his claws are blunt and pale and the pads of his paws are soft. "What's yer name, venerable?"
"He can't answer that, he's a monk!" the woman snaps, exasperated. "They got- whatchyamacallit- Vows of Silence!"
"Oh, right!" the old man laughs. "Well, wouldn't matter if you could talk anyhow- my Old Lady's deaf as a post and I'm dumb as a rock! Come on, this is no place for a holy man!" he waved.
"Our home is up this way- it isn't much, but it's better than sleeping in Garbage! You stay with us and I'll fix that ratty old robe right up!" She said, grabbing him by the hand-
-
Ba-San looks down at his hand- it feels strange in hers, but it's not the fine gray fur covering his fingers or the rough pads on his palm or the dark nails that taper to claws.
It's that the hand is bleeding, scraped and cut and one of his nails missing like it had been torn off in a fight.
Ba-San is so old that everyone has forgotten her name and they just call her Ba-San, even her husband (who is so old that everyone has forgotten his name and calls him Jii-san, even his wife), and she didn't get this ancient by being an idiot. She glances up at the broken basket she knows got thrown in here by her neighbor not a week ago and sees the large golden eyes inside, staring down at her.
She's also old enough to know what a frightened child looks like, no matter how tall or what species he is.
She makes a show of squinting at his hand. "Why, your nails are FILTHY! You can wash up at the well out back too." She pats his hand.
"Of course! That's right!" Jii-san laughs. "Like I said- I got gravel for brains! He can sleep in Sajin's bed- Sajin is our Boy, but he's long since left home. It'll be good to have a young person around again!" he says, taking the boy's other hand.
He follows, stumbling awkwardly in the badly-tied robe and like he's been injured, but if he leaves paw-prints behind him, they don't remark upon it. - After about a month, the boy has something to confess. And something to ask.
Ba-San and Jii-San have been kind to him- they let him into their home and fed him and Ba-San didn't fix his robe so much as make an entirely new one "appropriate for a Monk", and Jii-san found a pair of old work gloves for him "so you can do your Good Works without losing another nail". Ba-San always gives him her soup-bones "I don't have the teeth to chew them anymore" and Jii-san always moves over so they can both sleep in the sun-patch that appears in the middle of their home every afternoon.
He's tried to repay them how he can- he's tall enough to fix the holes in the roof of their one-room shack standing flat-footed on the floor, and he carries water from the well every day to wash the stone steps outside and re-painted the red gate out front and every morning he makes them breakfast to wake them up and every night he rubs their tired necks and shoulders.
"Mmm-rr." he tries at breakfast, and they both look up, but it's hard enough practicing human words in the woods behind the shack to the birds, let alone now, at the table with the two people he cares most about in the world.
"You say something, Venerable?" Jii-san asks. "Don't worry- I won't tattle to the abbot on you-" he teases.
"Shush!" Ba-san barks at him. "What is it?"
He sighs, and tries again, focusing on the sounds. "mMnoddamunk."
The two elders stare blankly at him.
"Ahm nodda munk." he tries again, enunciating better. "Ahm nodda yumn eethrr."
The two look at each other, then turn back to him and place a hand on each of his.
"...Sorta figur'd the first when you didn't recognize the shrine." Nods Jii-san. "-But that's alright. You take good care of us."
"...Sort of figured the second when I saw your hand on the day we met." Nods Ba-San. "-But that's alright. You're a good person, which is a very different thing than being a Good Human."
The Boy stares at them, stunned, then cringes, embarrassed. Of course! They're old, not stupid. "Aiyee- r-r-r MN! Aiyee LLied." he apologizes, stumbling over the difficult consonant in the middle, determined to conquer it.
"I didn't hear any lies, did you, Jii-san?" asks Ba-san.
"I didn't hear nothin' and my ears even work!" he grins, ears perking up.
The Boy sighs, still exasperated with their antics but mostly relieved.
...Then something Jii-san said caught up with him, and he frowns.
"Aiyee- Aye haffa..." Another tricky consonant. "Aye needa assk ssmmng." he changed tracks. L was enough of a battle for one day, Q and his frustrating wife U could wait.
"Whadday wanna know, Venerable?" Jii-san asked, and Ba-san frowned, turning her ear out behind their home, already suspecting his questions.
He held up two fingers and they nodded, waiting. He'd gotten very good at numbers and pointing already, and until today, that had carried the conversation. "sssHrrine?" he asked.
Jii-san frowned. "...what's your second question?"
"th-Therre'ss ah- Grrrave?" he pointed out behind the shrine, to where a stone stood, with what he now recognized as marks signifying a name carved into it. "wHo?"
Ba-San and Jii-san looked at each other, distraught for some time before Ba-San finally turned back to him, both hands on his.
"...Venerable," She finally spoke. "You had to run away from home in a hurry, didn't you?"
The boy nods.
"-And Jii-san and I were the first people you met that weren't you family, right?" She continues.
He nods again. She purses her lips, agitated.
"Jii-San." She finally speaks. "I think we ought to show him Sajin."
Jii-san sighs and nods, agreeing with her, and stands up. At the back of the house, there is a little cabinet with two boxes they never open, and something covered by a black cloth. Jii-san opens the cabinet and takes out the thing covered by the black cloth, pulling the cloth aside and bringing the thing to the table. It's a flat rectangle, and on it is a drawing of a very strange creature.
It's face is almost perfectly circular, and it's body covered in clothes, like how Humans dress, including a funny hat. What the boy can see of the creature is perfectly smooth and hairless and the same color as not-quite-ripe peaches. It has a long mane of straight dark gray hair growing from the top of its head, and a beard a bit like a billy-goat's
"This is Sajin," Says Jii-san, voice wavering a bit. "He wasn't our son- you can tell, we're not related by blood- but he was Our Boy. He took care of us, like you do now."
"He was Our Boy." nods Ba-San, on the verge of tears. "Then he was Our Man. And then he was Our Old Man, and then-" She stopped, and began to cry in earnest. "-And then he left home, and we buried his body out behind the shrine, and marked his grave, as Humans do."
The boy continued to stare at Sajin's portrait. "...Sajin." he whispered, and the name didn't fight him at all. "...Ihff- if Sajin iss Yumann-?" he looked up at his friends. "Whattrrre You?"
Ba-San beckons him and Jii-san back to the cabinet, and puts her hand on one of The Boxes They Never Open. Jii-San puts his hand on the other, and together, the open the lids just a tiny bit for The Boy to see inside.
He gasps and steps back in horror- the things in the boxes are very much like the skulls he's seen of his people before, but the noses are all smooshed like they didn't grow right, and the eyes are too large and- -And they're just the right size each to belong to Ba-San and Jii-San.
"We are Koma, Guardian Dogs, and this is our shrine." Says Jii-san, closing the lid on his box as Ba-san closed hers, and placing the drawing of Sajin back on the shelf above them. "We wear clothes and speak like humans because we once took Names, a very long time ago, and thus we are People and we act like People." He explained.
"Nnames?" the boy asks.
"A Name is... a sort of contract, that the humans made up." Says Ba-San, locking the cabinet back up. "Humans can live together in such huge packs and crowded cities because they have Rules- you're not allowed to kill other people except in self-defense. You're not allowed to take food someone else caught. Nobody is allowed to kill a child for any reason, things like that. If you take a Name, it's like saying- 'I am this Person! And I agree to abide by the rules of being a person!', and you have to follow the rules, but everyone else has to follow the rules for you too, because you have a Name. So Humans can live very close to each other, because they all have an understanding that nobody is going to violate those rules."
"It's not just humans that can take names- long ago, some wolves decided to take names, and those wolves became Dogs, that live with humans. They were our ancestors, and like our ancestors, we took Names, and we obeyed the rules, and for that, we were fed and allowed to sleep inside and given soup-bones and let to sleep in the sun-patch, but most of all, we were Loved." Said Jii-san.
"-And just the same, we Loved Sajin. He was Our Boy. And We were His Dogs." Said Ba-san, bursting into tears again. Jii-san held her, tears running down his face as well.
Ba-san cried into Jii-san's shoulder for a long time, and The Boy Who Was A Wolf That Wanted To Live Among The Humans sat in silence, thinking.
"...Cour-could Aye- take a nName?" He asks, slowly.
"You'd have to take two, and learn all the rules-" Nodded Jii-san. "But yes. Anyone who can talk can take a name. And you've been talking my tail off!" he wagged.
"Two?" the boy asked. He didn't need to use his fingers this time.
"Humans have two names- one is the name of that specific human, and one is the name of their family or the place they came from or what they did, as a sort of... Introduction. Humans are very big on introducing themselves and all their friends- though I suppose it makes sense, what with them having names to introduce themselves with."
"You can be a Komamura!" Jii-san said, wagging excitedly. "Ba-san and Jii-san are Koma, and we are your Ba-San and Jii-San, so you must be part of our family, so that makes you Mura, a relative- so you're a Koma-mura!" he nodded.
"Humans also give their children names of revered ancestors, to honor the ancestor, and protect the child." Added Ba-san. "You do Sajin's chores, you sleep in Sajin's bed, you take care of Sajin's Dogs... You must be Sajin!"
"That's your name, if you want it- Komamura Sajin!" Said Jii-san. The Boy stared at them for a long time, completely still, until they realized that, for the first time since they'd known him, the scarred nub on his backside was wagging too.
"Thank you." Said Sajin, tears streaming down his face too. --
Many months later, a Monk* leaves the little shrine to Ba-san and Jii-san at the edge of the dump. He leaves his home in no particular rush- if anything, he's lingering- in the middle of a bright morning, hale and with joy in his heart. He waves to his Ba-san and Jii-san as he heads down the road, promising to come back and visit.
"Look at that." says Ba-San. "Our Boy is leaving home again."
"I know," Says Jii-san. "-but this time it'll be alright."

Behold 5

"Yes, that creature could be... an Ichthyocentaurs!" Iron Tongue Tian bodly exclaimed proudly to captivate the attention of listeners. But honestly, all they're hearing is a huge ass monster that could possibly destroy the harbor. (They got traumatised from Osial lmao.)
"No, that just looks like a Centaur." Zhongli interjected, a hand on his chin.
"I-If that's what the wise consultant says..." Iron Tongue Tian looks defeated.
Strange.
This isn't how he remembers them.
They weren't like this before.
But he never finished studying under them in the first place.
So, who is he to judge his master's knowledge?
That creature... they have the upper body of a human, but a lower body of a horse. Horns adorned their head with long vines of hair that covered the chest. Undoubtedly, that's his Master.
--
Well, this is awkward. Isn't it?
You just blankly stared at the woman infront of you. You can't speak, you jave no means of communication. But the woman named Ningguang makes it her mission to converse with you.
"They seem to understand phrases.. can you write?" Ningguang asks, a bit hopeful due to some quick deduction.
You showed her your hand and basically gestured how it is impossible to write with a hand that incredibly large, then you showed her just your fingertip--which was enough to crush 40 Jade Chambers.
Ningguang retreats to her thinking process. It's fine, she can do this, she's Ningguang after all.

"Hm, I hope Xiansheng doesn't blame me for this rather large catastrophe."

Tw: swearing, violence
——————————————————————————
Within a village deep in the mountains lived a blacksmith. One of the best in the lands. The orc who lived there was once a great chief, but retired many years ago, no longer finding pillaging could fill his heart. He worked often, gathering orders from far off lands to keep his mind and hands busy.
The hearth of the workshop burned bright and hot, there was a constant thrum of hammer to heated metal, many would find the workspace suffocating. But Xürgarh quite enjoyed it.
While it would be a while before these weapons would be picked up, but Xürgarh had nothing better to do at the moment. Needing to keep busy.
The orc had only stopped his movements when he’d heard a loud, excited knock at the door. He sighed and dropped the sword into the cold water beside him, slipping off his apron as he walked to the front of the shop. The knocking only got louder.
“Yeah Yeah im coming”
He mutters under his breath, he’s about to reach for the door when it bursts open. Xürgarh keeps an unamused expression as he catches the door from hitting him, a familiar centaur stood in the doorway. His next-door neighbor, Tymatius, huffs as he sees his friend still working.
“What are you doing?! Labor time ended hours ago!”
Xürgarh could only grunt in response, turning back to the store counter as he starts to straighten up his workspace. The centaur huffs in irritation
“For the last time you can’t just stay in your forge all day just because you don’t wanna socialize”
“Well not with that attitude I can’t”
“You’re impossible”
“Good”
Tymatius scowls and snatches the hammer out of Xürgarh’s hand, nearly dropping it from the weight.
“What thé hell are you doing?!”
Xürgarh growls as he tries to grab the hammer from Tymatius, who quickly shuffles away
“Getting you out of this damn shop!”
“No. Now give that back.”
“How about this, you go out to the fireplace tonight with me to have fun, and I leave you alone the rest of the month”
The orc thought over the proposition, eventually sighing as he gives in
“Fine, just let me put away my things”
“No need! I’ll do it, you need to change. You reek of sulfur”
Xürgarh grumbles but does so, knowing if not he would never hear the end of it. He comes back down a moment later and is dragged away before he can see the state of his work area. The orc huffs as he locks up the forge
“you better have put my tools up properly”
“Yeah yeah hurry up, I want to get a good booth”
“You just want a good spot to ogle at the barkeep”
Xürgarh snides as he puts his keys in his pocket, walking toward the tavern. His lip twitches to a slight smirk as he sees Tymatius fail to defend himself, The centaur caught off guard before catching up with his friend.
They enter the tavern, the place has had many owners but none have made it more homely and inviting than the Minotaur who now runs it, Marvin.
The tavern was reopened a year ago. At the same time, they started appearing.
A hooded figure sits in the same seat every time Xürgarh is there, they drink a single glass, pay, and leave. Only occasionally staying for conversation with the barkeep. The other patrons never seem to notice them. Except one orc.
The usuals are all here, but strangely, thier seat is empty
“What Are you staring at?”
Xürgarh is snapped out of his thoughts as his friend speaks to him
“Hm? Nothing, how’s Marvin Doing?”
“He’s doing well”
“Mhm, and have you given him your courting beads yet”
“Shut up”
Xürgarh huffs out a laugh,
“you better get on with it, you know many he has many admirers”
Tymatius starts talking but Xürgarh can’t listen, his eyes catch the midnight blue cloak pass through the crowd with ease, almost as if they weren’t even in the room.
They sit down, Marvin immediately tending to them dispose the rowdy bar, Tymatius seems to catch on that his friend is distracted, his gaze finding the same location as the orc Infront of him.
“Hm, I wonder who that is? I’ve never seen them”
Xürgarh only grunts in response, looking away from from the stranger, Tymatius breaks out in a grin
“You’ve seen them haven’t you, you’re always so quiet when we’re here! This is why! You like them”
Xürgarh is caught off guard and growls
“no, no no no”
“Yes yes yes yes yes yes! You need to talk to them, they could have your mark!”
Tymatius receives a glare from the orc,
“If you know what is good for you you’ll keep your thoughts to yourself.”
“Oh come on! A soul mark is so rare, especially for orcs! A seat just opened up, go sit next to them-“
“Tymatius.”
“Look, just because you like to be sad and alone doesn’t mean the rest of can stand to see it. now go! And don’t come back till you’ve talked to them”
“And if i don't?”
“Then I’ll tell Marvin You’re paying my tab”
“… you’re evil”
“I know, now go!”
Xürgarh grumbles but does so, taking the free seat beside the unknown figure, from their stature he would guess they’re human.
He tries to get a glance at them from where he sits, but it would be hard to do so without being obvious, he glances back at the centaur with a scowl.
Marvin stands Infront of him after a moment.
“Xürgarh, how are you, it’s been many moons since you’ve been in my bar.”
“Yeah. Ive been keeping busy. A certain someone doesn’t understand that”
Martin laughs “I figured he’s why you’re here”
Xürgarh grunts and glances down back at the human again, even though they’re looking straight ahead, it feels as though thier eyes are staring through to his soul.
They’d sat until thier glass was empty, placed two coins on the counter, before slipping off the stool and leaving. Xürgarh felt a little defeated, but what was he supposed to say?
‘Hello strange person I’ve gazed at every day I’ve seen you! What’s your name? Promise I’m not a freak!’
The orc sighs and glances behind him, seeing Tymatius has had more than one too many and is currently swapping stories with one of the other regulars. Xürgarh uses this moment to slip out of the tavern. Placing two coins down before making his way outside.
Xürgarh took his time walking back to his shop, thinking over the situation over and over with different ‘what if’s each time. He didn’t understand why it bothered him so much, they were just some random patron, there’s no way Tymatius could be right. Marks were sacred, few orcs had them.
He’s snapped out of his thoughts as he hears a scuffle up ahead, his pace speeds up unknowingly until he reaches the entrance of an alley. When he looks down he sees the same midnight blue cloak he’s stared at so many nights. He feels his blood run cold as he runs into the alley.
Xürgarh makes his way through, being met with a sight that makes him see red. A man has them pined up against the wall as blow after blow hits. The sound of fist hitting flesh is sickening. His mind leaves him as his body acts, ripping the attacker off of them, thier body slumping to the floor as the man is thrown into the nearest wall. A harsh crack is heard at the impact.
Xürgarh is quick to kneel at thier side, cradling the human as they’re curled up, thier arms blocking thier face from his view. He’s unsure of what to do until he hears them speak, causing him to lean down to properly hear them
“My cloak- please.. please-“
He picks them up, keeping his gaze ahead until he reaches the entrance of the alley, finding the cloth where he’d last seen it.
Xürgarh grabs it, wrapping it around the human in his arms, they seem to relax at this, taking a moment before speaking
“Marvin- take me to him.. please”
The orc can only nod, making haste in his way back to the tavern, this time going to the side door for employees only. He knocks frantically, not stopping until the door opens.
The Minotaur stands there, agitated, until he sees the crumpled form in his arms. Marvin stands there stunned for a moment before taking the human from Xürgarh
“Thank you.”
Xürgarh can only nod as the door quickly shuts, frantic footsteps to the upper level can be heard until it all grows quiet. He can only stare at the door.
Praying to the gods that the human lives

Monster Bride Part 3 Douma
Tumblr media
(Warnings: Douma IS his own warning. Possibly some innuendos. Douma kills and eats a few people but there's no explicit scenes of killing. Douma is covered in blood at one point. Someone tries to kidnap reader for an arranged marriage. Threats
Douma seems to fall for Shinobu pretty quickly so I'm experimenting with Douma experiencing feelings fast and falling hard on first sight. I'll probably add more character development later in his route. Also I know Akaza has the most votes but at the time of writing this chapter Douma actually had the most so I will write Akaza next as per the votes. The poem Douma recites is inspired by Corpse Bride vows.)
Tumblr media
Quietly you stepped closer as and closer and CLOSER to the bush silently. Slowly behind the henhouse you went and stopped right in front of the bush. The wind blew swaying it's branches creepily and looked like thrashing arms. You grabbed a handful and silently and slowly pulled them back.
And you froze at what you saw-
The winds howled as the darkness crept across the skies. The darkness behind the bush shielded your form from the moonlight which cascaded down between the trees and clouds in the sky. The shadows danced and branches creaked as the wind blew them about. Like arms beckoning you closer to grab you away in their rough grip. Drag you into the shadows never to be seen again. But in the darkness something shined.
CLIP. CLOP. CLIP. CLIP. CLIP. CLOP.
The sounds of hooves entered the air as a creature of one's most insane imaginations walked about. Your eyes shrunk to the size of pins. A man's hair shined in the moonlight. As bright and beautiful as the stars and looking as soft as silk. Except for a peculiar ring of red around the top of his hair like a crown of blood. His eyes were a kaleidoscope with a rainbow captured within his irises as they blinked about. His chest obviously toned well enough to even challenge the most strongest of men.
CLIP. CLOP. CLIP. CLOP. CLIP. CLOP.
There was really only one peculiarity-
CLIP. CLOP. CLIP. CLOP. CLIP. CLOP-
The thing stopped under the lowest branch of a wild apple tree. Effortlessly he reached out and plucked one out before opening up a mouthful of fangs and biting half of it away.
HE HAD THE LOWER BODY OF A HORSE!!
The pale golden horse body was as beautiful looking as the rest of him. With the tail swishing about being the same beautiful platinum blonde silky hair as on his head. His hooves were perfectly polished black and looked like they shined from how polished they were. And BIG horse ears flicked on top of the man's head as he minded his own business and ate the fruit. If there wasn't a man's torso attached to the horse's body you'd say that it would be a beautiful stallion that anyone would be proud owning . He wore a red shirt and some kind of cloak over it. It was ...It looked like.....
A CENTAUR?!
Your mouth dropped open as you continued to stare at the thing that continued to eat it's full of your fruit. You just..stared silently. And stared some more. You shook your head blinking and looked again...It was still there. You could hear it chewing on apples. T-This..THIS COULDN'T BE HAPPENING!! It must've been some dream! You were sleeping walking! Or the light was playing tricks on you! Or your paranoia was making you see things!! Something you ate was making you hallucinate!! You were running a high fever!!
SOMETHING!!
Your brain wanted to pinch your hand or smack yourself awake but paralyzing fear. This wasn't happening. This wasn't happening!! You needed to get out of here. You needed to get out of here NOW. You made to just as quietly step back- But you froze as the thing's horse ears flicked in your direction.
"Hm?"
He turned creepily and faster than any human being and rainbow irises made contact with yours. You both stared at one another- You ran. Running back into your house. Fumbling hands shut the door closed behind you and locked it tightly. Stumbling back your lungs heaved for air and you stared at the door. Before your eyes shifted towards the window and you again froze as a smiling face with rainbow irises staring back at you. It was like a shock of electricity went through your body as your jaw dropped. Before your eyes rolled up into your head and you collapsed in a faint to the floor.
The next morning you woke up finding you had collapsed on top of your futon. You disorientedly looked up blinking... before a jolt of adrenaline shot through you. With a scream you turned on your back and scrambled away from the window with the monster peeking in. Only to blink as you found it...shut?
WOT
The windows shutters were closed...The shutters were closed? THEY WERE CLOSED!! THEY WEREN'T CLOSED LAST NIGHT!! You jolted to your feet and approached the door. But stopped before you opened it. Taking a moment you turned your head and quietly pressed your ear to the door....Nothing. Nothing but the distant sounds of birds chirping... Slowly you reached out and clicked the door lock open. Still listening for anything but hearing nothing. Slowly you reached for the sliding door..and slid it open just enough to peek an eye out...
You slid the door wide open blinking.
There wasn't anything there!! Your backyard was bright and sunny and beautiful with absolutely nothing weird there. You just stared. Your head turned left. Your head looked right. Nothing. What the what? Dazed you stepped out on light footed you stepped out and turned to the window. The shutters were closed just like you left it before you left for town the other day. You even reached out to tug it. It was closed tight. Your head whipped to the ground near the window and saw.. nothing. No horseshoe prints and it didn't look like the ground was disturbed. Your head whipped to the bush. The hens in your yard scattered about as you ran past them and through the bush to the other side looking around widely also finding...nothing. No missing fruit. No hoof prints. No nothing.
Just.. nothing.
Like you just had a bad dream.
"Y-Yeah. T-That must've been it." You sighed. Body relaxing and relief washing over you. Careful long strides of some long legs stopped behind you before curiously leaning down to peer over your head. "Heh. I've been hearing so many fairytales and ghost stories that my imagination has gotten the better of me. It was all just a bad dream."
"Yes! I must be so since Im too handsome for a hallucination." You froze as a deep man's voice chuckled behind you. "So I must be a dream come true.~"
You froze feeling the blood drain from your face... before you slowly turned around and looked up. A beautiful figure with horse ears and rainbow eyes chuckled and wagged his fingers at you....You remained staring at him before he leaned down to grin widely.
"My. Oh my. I've never seen a woman with your looks before." He tilted his head with a flick of his ear. "How... interesting."
You were sent shivers down your spine as you stared at those eyes. "Your eyes are strange."
He perked up. So she could talk. "Strangely beautiful?~"
"Empty..." You took a step back as he froze. "Y-Y-You're not human!" You took more steps back as he blinked wide eyed in shock. "W-What are you?!"
He didn't answer at first. Standing there shocked at your blunt words.. before he rose to his full height and turned to you still wide eyed and mouth in a thin line... before a warmth busted from his chest and his hair and tail poofed out in a bristle as something new was added!!.... Before shivering like a naked mole in winter, his mouth broke out in a shaky grin and he decided right then and there.
Y O U  W E R E  T H E  O N E.
Tears so quietly started running down his cheeks as his face split in a Cheshire cat grin. A swirl of strange emotions echoed in him. Before it was always so... empty. Nothing mattered, but now it's like the world suddenly has color. Like..he was just an empty room and someone opened the door and just tossed around a happy flowing assortment of colors. A loud whinny went off as clawed hands grabbed  his face. With a happy kick he galloped off in a big circle around a tree and snapped back around to- He snapped his head up and around with a blink as the bush moved and there was a flurry of footsteps before a slam of a door was heard. He stood there blinking for a moment as he noticed no one was there. He blinked before turning to the house-
".....Oh...Um...I guess I have to court her before trying to initiate the mating ritual. I'LL BE BACK WITH GIFTS SOON MY LOVE!!" He called waving to the house despite you not being able to see him at all.
He giddily grabbed his cheeks with a happy whinny and gave a happy trot back towards the stream. He was so happy!! For the first time in forever he was HAPPY!! In his mind he associated the good feeling with her.
SHE made him feel happy. Therefore SHE was the source of the feeling. SHE WAS HAPPY. HE LIKED HAPPY. HE WANTED HAPPY. HE NEEDED HAPPY. HE WANTED HER-....
....no....
H E  N E E D E D  H E R.
You didn't dare come out of your house for the rest of that day. Or the next. And you only slipped out long enough to take care of your animals and then raced right back inside locking up the doors behind you. This was bad! This was so very, VERY bad!! What were you supposed to do?! You never encountered anything like this before?! You didn't even know what that thing was?! Was it dangerous?! Was it trying to harm you?! Whatever it was it hadn't come back in three days by then...and it wouldn't be back for another week and two days after that. At this point you couldn't tell if you were going crazy or if he was even real, but you ever so slowly started to creep out a bit more but still looked vigilantly over your shoulder but never saw anything even if you thought you heard something. Every little noise put you on edge. Until one day you were getting some water and heard your cow running startled into the barn. Your head snapped over your shoulder instantly.
YOU BOLTED!! With fear shooting down your spine, you whirl around on your heel, flew through the small of your backyard, and almost dove through your back door. Quickly you whirled around to grab your door only to again freeze as you saw the big thing standing in beside your henhouse. HOW'D DID HE GET THROUGH THE BUSH WITHOUT YOU HEARING IT?! He silently stared through your eyes and right into your soul-
SLAM!!
The door was slammed shut and you never fumbled to lock the door quicker in your life. The lock clicked into place and you backed away from the door. Each footsteps sending a thud echoing through your living room until you just stood there and panted in fear as you stood there. The silence almost made a ringing sound go off in your ears as you stood there and breathed out in fear. Your heart was in your throat and hammered in your chest. Your breaths burnt your throat. Your hands trembled. And then you heard it.
CLIP. CLOP. CLIP. CLOP. CLIP-
Your body went ice cold as whatever it was stopped right outside your door. Then there was more silence. Then there was a snort sound like a horse snorting. Then there was a couple of hooves clopping in a shuffle and then you heard it. A thudding sound like he was curiously scrapping a hoof against the door. Before there was a...Whiny horse whinny? Like...an annoyed horse noise? You blinked at it. Still shocked and scared but now caught off guard. What-
"Now this isn't fair!" A loud man's voice whined followed by a loud foot stomping. CLOP!! "How am I supposed to show off my new mate to Akaza-dono if you don't even let me court you!? He'd be so jealous I found someone so pretty!"
You stopped fully and just... blinked at the door. ".... What?!"
You looked over and yelped finding a face literally pressed against the glass as he gave you a weird version of puppy dog eyed. "Come out so we can talk."
You. Just. Blinked. "What? No! I'm not going out there with you!"
"Then open the door and let me come in!"
"No!"
You just watched as he whined again and pressed himself further into the glass smoothing his cheek against the window. Making him look...well ridiculous. "It's not ffffffaaaasiiiiirrr!!!" He whined again. "Every other girl comes to me because they think I'm pretty! What if I say please?!"
".....NO!!"
He pouted before stepping away from the window view. You followed the clip clops with your head until it stopped in front of the door.Anf and there was a massive thud sound. Like a small tree fell over.
"Then I'm not moving until you come see me!!"
..... Again wot
You...You just blinked at the door... before you approached the window again and peeked outside only to find him....Curled up on the ground and pouting?? You just.. blinked at the centaur curled up on the ground on his side arms crossed and face scrunched up like a toddler being told he couldn't get any candy. You just stared at him...Was he serious?
"Are you serious right now?!"
He looked at the window before firmly flopping his head back down and snorted.
"I thought monsters were supposed to be fierce."
"I'll have you know I am considered VERY fierce! I'm just mad right now!"
"..... You've GOT to be kidding me!" You gestured out the window. "My first time seeing a monster and THIS is what I see?! I thought you all were supposed to be scary!!"
"I am scary! And I'm not a monster! I'm a kelpie!" He pouted more as you rose a brow.
"Kelpie? You mean the water horse that eats people?!" Again alarm shot through you. "Then I'm DEFINITELY NOT coming out now!"
"NNNNNOOOOOO!!!" You watched as he gave a half course whine half demon like call before turning on his back and kicking his horse feet up. "It's not ffffffaaaasiiiiirrr!!! I wanna talk!"
......Again THIS was a monster? The only bad thing about him so far was that he was extremely annoying. And he was a kelpie. You've heard a few stories about the mysterious water horse monsters that ate people. So no. You were NOT going to get close to that thing...But the shining was starting to annoy you. A lot.
"Oh for the love of the gods! Fine!" His head perked up funny looking as he looked at you with his skinny legs still in the air. "We can talk through the window I guess."
He perked up immediately and you watched him quickly get up and jumped back as he literally ran to the window again pressing his hands and face to the glass. "My happy, you are so sweet to me!!~"
You took two more steps back from the window just in case. "Uh huh." Ok...You guessed you were doing this. Talking to a monster on the other side of your window. You weren't sure you even believed yourself right now. Your eyes narrowed at him. "Just who are you? What are you?!" Those seemed like good enough questions to start off with.
He gasped as if remembering something. "Oh that's right! I never told you my name!" He waved quickly at you from the other side of the glass. "HELLO! IM DOUMA!!" He loudly greeted you with a smile. "And like before I already told you what I am, Silly. I'm a Kelpie! What's my Happy's name?"
"Shouldn't I not tell you because it gives you power over me...or something?"
"That's fairies and other fae. And sometimes witches." He corrected you. "I can't control anyone with magic. If I could I would've already had you open the door or attacked you outside."
...You supposed that was a fair point. And made sure to keep that information tucked away later. "My name is...Y/n." You narrowed your eyes as he seemed to light up more. "It's very nice to meet you Mr. Douma but you happen to be trespassing on my farm. I'm gonna have to ask you politely to leave."
"Nnnnnnoooo!!" He whined again leaning again the window. You deadpanned now. Again THIS was a monster?! "But wwwwhhhyyyyyyy?!"
"Because I don't want to be eaten by a human eating horse monster?," you bluntly stated the obvious gesturing at him, "That's what you're here for right? To try and eat me?"
He gave a look like you suddenly slapped him. "What? No! I would never eat my happy. No, no, no. I'd never forgive myself!"
"Then what do you want? Apples? Help yourself. There's plenty of fruit in the back. Take as much as you'd like and leave."
"Oh I don't want that either." You opened your mouth to ask what he wanted then- "I want a wife!"
A silence passed through the home.
Your blank eyes and numb mind stared at the window. ".... I beg pardon?"
"I want a wife!" He happily chirped. "And you're my happy. Happy wife happy life as they say! So should we induce the ritual that will seal us as mates now or do you want to wait until later when you get a wedding kimono?"
You still stared. "....What?!"
"Is that a yes or no?" He rambled on tilting his head.
"NO!! I'm not going to marry you!", you squawked staring at him. This thing wanted to marry you!? "Absolutely not! I don't even know you!"
He hummed again before he perked up in sudden realization and snapped his fingers. "Right! The courtship process has to take place first! Here! One second! I brought courting gifts!" He leaned away from the window and pulled a soaked saddle bag off his side. It'd been soaked during his trip back up stream and was full of jewelry and gold bits. "Here!" He held up the bag to the window. "I brought you things I know women like!"
Jewelry, gold, diamonds, and other nice things the humans near his lake sacrifice once a week to him in exchange for his glorious generosity of fishing in his waters. He didn't have much use of them and usually just gave them to Daki or Akaza whenever he visited them, and preferred the offerings of livestock and sometimes humans far better. But surely they'd come in handy when it comes to this problem. He shook the bag jingling the contents inside as she gazed at him blinking. Oh to have his happy in his arms! He'd make her so happy too! He could already picture it-
She'd gasp seeing the contents of the bag and immediately open the door.
"Oh Douma. You're so handsome and strong and rich." Then she swooned opening her arms begging him to take her in his arms. "I'm so grateful you chose a weak human as me for your mate! Let's get married and live together forever! Take me away! I am yours!"
Then he'd take her back to his lake where he'd make the villagers treat her like a QUEEN. He'd introduce her to Gyutaro and Daki and they'd become such great friends!! And he'd show her off to Akaza! Akaza loved women! They'd be great friends too and then his best friend would finally stop being so mean to him! The wedding would be splendid and she'd look so beautiful!!
And he'd teach their children everything he knew.
They would all be so beautiful. Cute little kelpie fouls frolicking around and swimming around and playing with Gyutaro and Daki and they'd be as happy as their mother!
BONK!
He was snapped from his fantasy when a squirrel ran across a branch hanging over him and dropped one of his acorns hitting him on the head. He blinked as he no noticed that the curtains were drawn on the other side of the window and he could no longer see Y/n....He began knocking on the window.
"Darling?"
"I'm not interested! Go away! I have enough problems with men trying to court me without adding a monster into the mix thank you very much!," she called out from the inside.
He whinnied in shock before knocking on the glass again. "Ok. Ok. Maybe I'm moving too fast. Let's just court first then!" No answer and he felt....panic? Is that what this emotion was? "Ok. Can we at least talk? You said we can talk through the window right?"
There was again silence before he heard a groan. "Fine! But don't expect me to come outside."
He lit up. PROGRESS!! "You're very pretty! Do you use one of those fancy skin lotions?" He'd compliment her but disguise it as a question to not come off as pushy.
There was another pause. "...No. But thanks I guess." He smiled again. "Why are you trying to court me?"
Fair enough question. "I think you're very beautiful! And I've never met anyone before who talks to me like you did. Why don't you want me to court you?" He glanced at himself raising a hoof. "Aside from the monster bit."
"Despite the fact that we're strangers? I literally just want to be left alone! I've got men trying to get me to marry them literally every other day! And now just my luck here's another man trying to court me again!"
His ears flicked and smile strained. "Oh?... Sounds like a big problem you have there."
"IT IS!! IT'S SO ANNOYING AND NOW YOU'RE HERE AND I HAVE A HUMAN EATING MONSTER WANTING TO COURT ME!!....No offense."
"None. Taken." Others were just trying to take his happy? Oh that won't do at all. "... How about a deal?"
"Deal?"
He smirked. "Let me prove myself worthy over the human courters. If you are not satisfied by blood moon then I'll take my leave of you with no harm."
A hand grabbed the curtain and pulled it back to reveal your suspicious face. "Yeah? And what's the catch?"
"If you cannot give me a good enough reason to reject me, you become my mate!"
You weren't stupid enough to accept this deal. "That sounds like it'll benefit you more than me on both sides. No deal! Good bye!"
"I can keep other people at bay!" He said quickly before you could close the curtain. "I promise!"
"I can do that myself! What will you do if I agree to nothing?"
"I'll just keep bothering you!"
You groaned before facepalming. This guy was NOT getting it. What was his deal?! ....Deal. you perked up. Deals. Didn't fae creatures like making deals? You looked back to Douma who still smiled at you.
"Hmm...How about a..bet?" That IMMEDIATELY caught his interest.
He hummed. "What did you have in mind?~"
"I bet you can't win my heart by the blood moon. In fact I bet you can't you can't even  fulfill all my desires by then. If I let you court me and you can't do that by then, then you leave me alone.  And NEVER bother me again."
He smiled impossibly wider. "Deal. But if I fulfill every whim by then, you have to become my wife without a fight. Are you willing to abide by my terms? It's not too late to back out."
With a challenging scowl at him you nodded. "Deal! But we both know I'll win."
He chuckled. "Then I'll fulfill your first whim now." He held up the bag. "I heard you mumbling about being low on money. This should last you quite a while. Any other whims, Darling Wife?"
"Firstly you can not call me that and secondly you can replace the chicken you stole!"
He seemed surprised. "You noticed that?"
"One of my hens mysteriously disappeared the day YOU show up? That's not a coincidence. I'm not stupid."
He chuckled. Smart too. Perfect traits for their future family. "It shall be done. Don't worry about a thing. Can I at least kiss you good bye?"
You rolled your eyes. "The day I kiss you Is the day I agree to let you in my house."
Alright. Bet.
************************************************
He left after that day. Slinking back through the bushes and out of sight. You still remained it your house for another couple of hours before daring to even open your backdoor and look outside. He was gone alright but he left a drenched bag behind. You got your pitchfork to push open the top of the bag to peer inside and your eyes nearly popped out of your skull.
HOLY SHIT!!
THAT WAS A LOT OF GOLD!!
There was a massive pile of gold and different colored jewels and jewelry and silver- EVERYTHING a treasure hunter could want. You stared at it for the longest time before struggling to bring it inside the house.
Perhaps this bet wouldn't be so bad after all.
********************"**********************************************
You didn't see this mysterious Douma again for about another week. In that time you decided to at least indulge yourself a little bit and used a handful of the gold coins to buy a few new books. Once of which was a VERY romantic book you found intriguing.
Hey. You liked reading sappy romance everyone and a while. It wasn't a crime to indulge in a good romance story every so often.
"And then he caressed her cheek and held her close to his body. Their hearts bursting with love for each other!" You gave a giddy giggle squeezing the pitchfork. "Isn't it romantic?"
Your cow mooed annoyed and looked at you as such. Waiting for you to finish putting down fresh straw in her small corner of the barn.
You sighed. "You're right. But still .. it'd be nice to think about." You sighed again. "I'd like someone who'd hold me and love me and tell me sweet nothings. Wouldn't you like that?" Bessy mooed louder. "Yeah. Guess it's easier for cows to not worry about things like romance. I wish one day to find someone like that. To kiss me and hold me tight too."
You went back to finish shoveling out the clean hay before hanging up your pitchfork back up and went back towards the house to sleep the rest of the night off. The darkness outside didn't phase you much anymore and you stepped outside, taking a moment to turn around and close the door behind you.
"My beautiful love.~"
You jumped whirling around at the noise but froze when you saw his form. Ethereal and serene. Like a ghost in the night. The stars paled in complexion to the pale. Broken colors of iris more beautiful catching the moonlight perfectly like stained glass in a fine temple.
"Bind out blood in ceremony and let me share your name." A hand outstretched to you. "Under the stars of the heavens, I solemly swear, that this hand will always be kind and never cruel. That my voice will only speak truth. That this life is now forever yours." The outstretched hand grabbed yours as you stared. Skin was incredibly soft. "Now as yours is mine."
She was beautiful. Her eyes captured the starlight perfectly and he could see the reflection of the twinkling lights in her eyes. Her skin against his rough from work but soft. A testimony of her dedication. She was as memorized by him as he was of her as the hand pulled her closer to the ever wide smile closing the distance between them.
"Bind our souls to infinity and I will promise you love and devotion through sickness and health and beyond the realms of death." Another strong arm wrapped around her body pulling. Pulling her forward until their warmth was shared by contact. "I will love you in all your forms now and forever. Through several lifetimes and back." His voice was low and smooth. A hand reached up to caress her cheek before cupping the back of her head for safe support. "From now to infinity." He was close now. Eyes half lidded. "Unyielding." Her body shivered. "Untainted."
He spoke against her lips before the hand behind her head guided her and both were connected in a sweet kiss. His eyes slowly closed as hers widened in shock to the size of plates.
"HM?!"
Without breaking the kiss, two arms swiftly wrapped around your body and pulled you up bridal style. In fact he took the chance to deepen the kiss and pull your body closer to his. Douma hummed pleased before finally pulling away from you and chuckled at your shocked face. Jaw dropped and cheeks pink. How cute. You didn't respond to him until he started walking by squealing and grabbing onto him.
"W-What are you doing?!"
"Taking you inside of course. After all you said I was welcome inside if I ever kissed you.~"
"Absolutely no-"
Your were cut off again by another kiss from him which caught you off guard and shocked again before he hummed and pulled away with a smile showing off his fangs. "Absolutely sweet. Like honey or sugared fruit.~ Oh I'm going to enjoy this part of the courting.~"
You sputtered before slamming your face into his shoulder and screaming red faced.
"P-PUT ME DOWN!!"
You struggled red faced within Douma's grip but you found out he was actually VERY strong and didn't even flinch at your struggling . Only carried you across the yard and ducked as he just stepped  on into your home.
CLIP. CLOP. CLIP. CLOP. CLIP. CLOP.
His hooves echoed across the wooden floors before he stopped in the middle of the home and looked around nodding at the sight. "Nice home. It's very cute. Like you.~"
You still sputtered red faced and pushed a hand against his cheek. "S-S-Stop that!! You can't just step into my home like you own the place and...and..." You patted his cheek feeling wetness. "And why are you all wet?!"
"Oh! I just swam up from the river behind your house!" He smiled. "I got you a few chickens like you wanted! So another whim is filled! On top of the wish you had to have someone to hold you and care for you." He leaned forward. "And whisper sweet nothings to your ear.~"
A hand firmly pushed him farther away as your face burnt red. "H-how did you get the chickens?! You didn't steal them did you?" You asked ignoring everything else he said.
"Oh no. I traded a farmer in exchange for some fish! I was just going to leave the cage on your doorstep but I overheard what you said in the barn and decided I might as well fulfill your other requests while here! And just look at how far our relationship came already! You might as well give in now-"
"I still have a month until the blood moon appears! My chance isn't over yet. Now put me down! I'll have to get you a towel! You're dripping all over my floors!"
He hummed looking down noticing the drips of water on the floor. "Oh."
You were put down on your feet and sighed as you turned to stop your way towards the bathroom and opened the door. You'd have to get Douma a towel to dry off with. Douma however stared down at himself and his clothes. Probably should've taken it into account. He looked back up in time for his face to be smacked by a towel.
"Here. Take this. I'm taking my futon and sleeping in the bathroom."
"You aren't going to sleep with me?"
"Absolutely not." He removed the towel watching as you dragged your futon across the floor and towards the door leading to the bathroom. "I've dealt with you enough for today. But here's another whom for you since you're feeling so generous. Clean up the mess you made off my floor."
He blinked before pouting and pulling his ears back. "But I thought we could cuddle together. It's not very fair-"
"You're the one who made the conditions of the bet. Not me. So just deal with it. On top of that, you can help me with gathering some fruit to sell in town."
"You mean I have to work?"
You smiled at him. "It's not too back to back out." You repeated back his words and he pouted harder as you shut the door.
He pouted harder before a thud rang out as he plopped himself down. "This isn't very fair."
*********************"*********†******************************************
"Darling! Oh darling look at me!!"
You looked up just in time to see Douma literally quickly raise his back legs and kick your apple tree very hard shaking it's trunk. It sent a vibration through it's being but it backfired on him because he was then bombarded by a flurry of apples falling down on himself and leaving him to cover his head from the shower of apples. You busted out laughing at the sight before going to pick up the scattered apples and throw them into a nearby barrel. After it was nearly full you heaved it up and up towards a wagon at the front of your house. You'd let Douma have whatever was left. Unsurprisingly he followed you all the way over and watched you heave the barrel into the wagon alongside three others already in there.
"Can I help more?"
"No. You've done enough for me today. You can leave now." Your hands grabbed the handle of the wagon.
"But I wanna come with you." He insisted and you could hear the clip clops of his hooves as he followed you on the pathway towards town. "I can still help. You could use someone to help you pull the cart."
"I don't think so. There's no way you'd safely be able to go into town looking like you just walked out of a fairytale book. You'd either scare people away or have an angry mob chase after you. Both of which I don't need, Douma."
"Oh...I understand!"
Soon you heard the stop of clip clopping behind you and you smiled. Seemed he finally got the hint. Although...the cart became strangely easier to pull. You ignored it in favor of enjoying your walk through the peaceful woods and pulling the cart along until you got into town enjoying the blissful silence. As you walked into the streets where the path to your house connected, a strange reaction started to occur. As you walked people started to stop and stare in awe. Ok. That was weird. Usually a few men would stare at you but never this many and never women.
"What are they staring at?"
"Beats me."
The cart jolted to a stop. You stared at nothing before snapping your head around and choked on air as you saw Douma...With a completely human body and hands on the cart. He chuckled again staring at your shocked face.
"DOUMA?! What the hell are doing here!?"
"Helping you push the cart. It looked heavy." He then pressed a hand to his forehead. "And I would rather perish then let my darling wife do all this labor-"
"SHH! Don't call me that in public!," you hissed at him before looking around. Now you understood why everyone was staring. They weren't looking at you, they were looking at the beautiful man that was walking with you. "What are you-..How are you looking human?!"
He chuckled. "I can change my form a few times but I did want to help."
You held up your hands like you wanted to throttle him before just grabbing the cart and pulling it. "Fine. But don't call me your wife in public and don't do anything that'll ruin my sales."
"Why are you selling these anyways? I got you enough money to last a lifetime."
"Because I don't want to have all this fruit go bad and I like to earn my living." He hummed again but didn't do anything else as you pushed your cart between two buildings and did what you usually did when this happened. You called out and waved a hand to people passing by. "APPLES!! PEACHES!! COME GET FRESH APPLES AND PEACHES HERE!"
Douma stood by and watched curiously as a few people passed by. A few stopped to buy a few fruits from you but not as many as he'd like. At this point you'd be dragging back a whole lot of fruit. That wouldn't be good. He had to prove himself as a capable mate that could help provide. So that's why his gaze landed on a group of nearby women staring at him. They. Looked. Delicious. But he wouldn't eat them. They'd be more useful a different way. With a bright smile unbeknownst to you he smiled widely and approached the ladies. Making them all fall silent and wide eyed as the handsome stranger stood before them.
"Ladies. My how young and beautiful you look today,~" a voice dropped a tone with a purr making them either blush or giggle, "Like little buds about to flower.~ Could I possibly interest you with the sweetest fruits that'll ever grace your even sweeter lips?~"
AAAAAnd that's how a hoard of women lined up just to buy your fruits. You had no idea where all these flustered blushing women and men were coming from until you heard a giggle and you turned around to find Douma leaning incredibly close to a girl's face and kiss her hand before he gestured to your wagon. With a timid nod she walked off towards you...And you finally figure out why you had such a massive influx of customers. You scowled at him but he only winked your way. That stupid donkey arse! He was bribing people to spend on you! You scowled harder not noticing the tall figure walk up to you until you felt something against your hand and you snapped up only to yelp seeing a man covered in a fur pelt BITE INTO THE PEACH YOU WERE JUST HOLDING!!
"HEY! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?!" You pulled your hand away as the man smiled at you. "You looked at the partially eaten peach in your hand in disgust before dropping it. "That's going to cost you two bits buddy!"
He chuckled and stood back up wiping his mouth with the back of his arm. "Well it wouldn't be costing me anything else if you had accepted my offer."
"Offer?" You squinted your eyes at him before they widened in realization. "Nori?"
He chuckled again. "The one and only. I thought you wouldn't recognize me with my new scars. Like them?" He tilted his head at you. "Got them from hunting a monster sized grizzly in the mountains."
You scowled. "I've Heard. I've also heard that you left town last year because you nearly killed a man after you got drunk." You scowled harder. "Why are you here?"
"Your parents didn't give me your hand when I asked them so I came directly to you." Deadly cold, colorful eyes snapped to him with a pop of Douma's neck.  Nori leaned forward with a smile. "I missed you. I've Heard you've gotten more beautiful but I wasn't expecting such a diamond."
"How DARE you! My parents have no say in my life! I make my own choices! You've been after me since we were children and my answer is the same to you now as it was back then! No! Absolutely not! I will never marry you. Now either pay for the fruit or get out of my sight!"
He didn't like that statement. You found out when you blinked and a force was on you. It all happened so fast. One moment you were standing there and the next you were being pulled against his harshly by the front of your kimono with a growl. Your eyes wide open as he growled.
"You'll regret this. I'll give you the end of this month to change your mind until I leave. Because either way you're coming with me whether you want to or not. I'll have you for a wife."
"Is there a problem here?" Nori froze and looked up at the looming form of Douma as he calmly grabbed your shoulder and with strength that surprised Nori, yanked you back. Nori yelped falling forward and landing flat on his face."That's no way to treat a lady. You'll pardon me but you won't treat my friend like that in my presence."
Nori snapped up to him looking ready to argue but stopped seeing Douma's shadowed eyes. After a moment Nori slowly got up staring at Douma the entire time before looking at you...And turning and walking away but not before saying-
"Don't forget what I said."
You sighed in relief at his leaving form as Douma didn't let you go. "Who. Was. That?"
A shiver went down your spine from the low dip Douma's voice had despite the smile he wore and shook your head. "T-That was Nori. He's a hunter and his family owns a fur trading business. But he was run out of town last year after he almost killed a man in a drunken fight."
His eyes flickered down to you. "You seem to know him well."
You scoffed rolling your eyes. "Yeah right. He's been infatuated with me since we were children. His parents were always trying to convince mine to arrange a marriage for us but I refused. He's nothing but a beast who thinks he can have anything he wants."
"...What did he want?"
"He wants my hand whether I like it or not. Unfortunately for him, I happen to be very skilled in welding a pitchfork."
Douma's smile crinkled up wider. "Yes...How unfortunate it is for him.~"
The next few days were..odd to say the least. Douma stayed for two more helping you harvest the rest of the fruit behind your house and selling it in town(albeit with his sweet talk-) and just bring a general annoyance. But he left on the third day he left back to wherever he came from. You weren't sure whether to be relieved or concerned about it. However you had other concerns. You  could feel the fast approaching blood moon approaching. The end of this month would be the sight and people were starting to get more desperate and scared. Now you couldn't walk into town without seeing most of the women hiding in their houses and peering out of the windows in fear. You started to feel nervous too with everyone acting like this. But it was just one night. You told yourself. It's just one night then the blood moon won't show up until another hundred years. It'll pass and then everything will be back to normal. You stopped going into town after four days with all the fear, in case something did try to take you away. However you had one fear. One REAL FEAR. When you were gathering water from your well two days before the moon. The water was cold and wet- And it spilt on you as something grabbed your arm and whirled around and your eyes widened.
"You didn't forget did you?"
"Darling, are you alright?"
You hummed looking up at Douma whom smiled as you laid against his side. He had come back after taking care of a few things back where he lived and was currently back in his centaur form. But looked puzzled when you suddenly went quiet.
"Sorry. What did you say?"
"I asked if you're ready to accept defeat yet." His ear flicked at you. "After all the moon is tonight and you haven't given me any good reasons to reject me?~"
You blinked before frowning. "Well you'll have to wait until that." You went back to sharpening a carving knife you brought out of the barn. "I have more important things to worry about "
He dramatically gasped. "More important than me?~"
"Yes!" You forced more pressure of the sharpening stone and blade. "Nori tried to make off with me the other day." Douma's form became cold but you didn't notice. "I have him a good kick where it really hurts and gave him a piece of my mind but he'll be stubborn enough to come back tomorrow. So I'm readying myself! He's taking a hunting trip before he leaves so I'm planning on being ready before then."
Douma slowly looked back to you. And his smile slowly widened to show teeth. "What's he hunting? Another bear?"
"There's a herd of wild horses where the streams connect with the local river in the woods. A group of  the town's men are going in there to try and round up a few. They'll be good money. Why do you ask?"
"Because he did say he was a hunter. There's many hunters where I come from so perhaps I knew him."
"I doubt it. He's just a hunter."
"True...but soon he'll be prey.~"
"What?"
"I said neigh!"
You snorted at him. "You're really weird Douma."
*******************************************************************************
Beware those who do not herd the  blood moon's waning.
Beware those who do not herd the thirst of monsters
For tonight Is the night of monsters.
And a night of bloodthirst.
A fire crackled in a bit of rocks. Feasting upon wood that melted into ashes in its grip. A sloshing of liquid heard as a gourd was passed exchanged from one hand to another. Warm skin of a hand warmed by the fire brought the sickly sweetened alcoholic drink to his lips. It burnt his throat in a good way that left him licking the burning sweetness from his lips with a snack, a sleeve wiping at his face as he did so.
"We shouldn't be out here," one man out of the six gathered around the fire commented. His face illuminated by its flames casting dancing shadows among them. "I don't like how quiet it is tonight. Listen...Not a bird. Not any beast. Not even the crickets sing their tunes tonight. I tell you it is a bad omen."
The man with the burning sweetness on his tongue sneered at his comrade. "Don't start giving me that talk about devils and inhuman monsters. I've hunted and camped in woods more silent than this since I was a child. The only danger you'll face out here is nothing but the usual teeth and claws of a wolf or a bear if you're really unlucky. I don't believe in such things."
The rest of the men only murdered in agreement with him or gave glances of weary. "Then we all share in your incompetent thinking by being out her while the moon wanes ordering bloodlust. And for what? A couple of measly horses that hasn't even shown themselves." A stick was tossed in frustration to the fire. "I tell you the beasts were scared off by something far scarier. I say we take their warning and head home while we still have light to see by."
Another scoff. "A single stallion would fetch more gold than two giant grizzlies on a good day! Are you really letting your fear blind you from what you could have?!"
"Perhaps he's right, Nori." Heads turned to the second oldest man of the group whom was staring at him with a thoughtful expression. "We haven't seen any hide or tail of the herd. Not even a footprint since we got here this morning. Even if there's no monstrous beast, it's obvious that the herd has moved out of the area. We should be home comforting our wives' worries and protecting our families from the dangers of others this night. We'll not be seeing anything here."
"BAH!!" The fire hissed in protest as liquid was spilt on thrown from the gourd splashing it as hot the ground. "You all are nothing but a lot of whimpering dogs catering to a woman's stupid fears! We should be looking more instead of lazing around where nothing is happening!!"
The older man sighed once more. "Alright...We will give one last look around the area, but afterwards we go home. I would rather have the warmth of my wife than that of the fire."
Grumbled were had. Murmurs were said. Footsteps crashed through the otherwise silent night. The light of the moon distorting everything with an eerie red hue as different men headed different directions. Splitting up to widen the search and make it back to dose the fire faster. Perhaps an unwise choice they would make.
Bushes and branches of the trees did not stop the ambition of one man whom stepped his way forward to a direction where the beasts drank their full of water. And the place he'd find a strong stallion or beautiful mare to take for his own. A good horse would put quite a good amount of gold in his pocket. Bushes and leaves scrapped against his body clinging for the briefest of seconds before letting go. No match for the body that marched onwards and onwards and onwards through the dark. Until he got nearer to his destination. A small sound reached his ears. The calming sounds of a running river. A few yards further away from was a break in the brush. Ah. A good place to hunt for the beasts. Lower now his body crawled along and closer towards the edge of the water. A clear view of the entire area.
The moonlight shown up on the deep moving water. Water so deep that the blackness cloaked how deep it was. There he sat as still as a rock. As quiet as a mouse. No noise but the water moving along to break the silence. No beasts could be seen however on the bankside. Irritation made a curse stir from his throat.
To hell with this! He'd get no prize tonight. The only prize he'd get was the woman in the morning. He made to move but a single sound stopped him in his tracks. A pair of eyes looked over and widened in manic glee.
"There you are."
As pale as the starlight, a beautiful horse stood. Nevermind that it was not seen by him just a moment ago. The beast was beautiful as it was large and muscular. A perfect stallion for sure. A coat of the most beautiful pale-blonde and a  tail of platinum silver swishing in the light. However he he could not see the beasts' head. Strangely it's body part was stationed within a bush nearby cloaking itself. No matter. Even if it's head was blind, a horse such as this would still sell for plenty.
"Ah. Look at you. You're a beautiful beast aren't you?"
The horse didn't move an inch as he slowly stepped forward with a greedy grin on his face. Step after step he took getting closer to it's body. Nothing but the swishing of it's tail.
"You'll fetch a pretty bit. Bet every man in town would want a fine steed like ya. Haha. Hell I might keep ya myself."
He stood in front of the beast admiring the rising and falling of its chest as it breath. Strong muscles rippling.  It still hadn't moved. The beast must've been deaf. No matter. He awed over the beautiful creature before him before placing his hands upon it. Good gods! It's fur was the softest he's ever felt! His hands just SUNK into it.
"Ah. You're just a pretty little thing aren't you?"
The bushes rustled. Eyes turned. His body froze. A torso of a man arose from the bush. Tall and strong looking and a man of platinum cascading down over his shoulders. A head turned with an eerie bone crackling noise as a wide smile speared across it. Red moon illuminating colorful eyes and a sharp smile as horror beyond belief sat in.
"Why thank you.~"
He watched the man's face contort into one of horror as he realized his mistake and became trapped in his skin as he found out he couldn't unstick his hands from the beautiful body. It was like a neverending sticky glue keeping him stuck in place. His breathing became more irratic as his body struggled harder to free his hands. He chuckled at the useless endeavors.
"W-What the hell?!"
"Oh. I'm afraid that won't work. You see a kelpie's skin should never be touched. I'm afraid you can't get out."
"W-What are you?!" A voice of horror yelled out. "WHAT ARE YOU?!"
"Oh how rude of me. Allow me to introduce myself." A clawed hand waved at him. "Hello. I'm Y/n's husband. You see.. I've been working very hard to provide and prove my worth to her and I'm afraid someone like you doesn't really fit into the equation. What if someone like you convinces her to leave me? No, no, no. I can't have that....And after the way you treated her in town, I had to do something."
Horrific realization flooded the pale figure. Blood freezing in his veins. "Y-You..."
"Yes. Gaze upon me for it'll be the last thing you see tonight but lucky for you I'm a merciful soul. You'll be a part of me and something greater. I'll be sure to send you to a beautiful eternal paradise."
Colorful orbs rolled back in the creatures head. A jaw unhinged wider than a snakes. A horse front reared up. A screech filled the air that was a terrible cross between a horse whinny and demons cry. A man shriek alongside the deadly cry.
Minutes later there was a rush of footsteps as bodies crashed through the brush. Five men eventually made their way to the river bank where the deadly cries rang from. But not a trace of a man or beast was seen. Nothing but a few last ripples of water.
***************************************************************************************
You yawned widely before looking back out of the window... before tossing the curtains closed again. It was midnight now. The moon hung directly in the sky and shown down dangerously like a deadly red lantern.
Just about seven more hours until sunrise. Then this night will be over.
Douma hadn't shown up once the entire night yet. You were sure he'd given up by now but there was still a chance he'd show up. Or nori if you were really unlucky. Both doors had been locked and you only opened the curtains every so often to quickly check the moons position in the sky. You hadn't slept yet at all during the entire night so far and you'd completely stay up until then-
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK!!
You jumped before whirling around to the front door wide eyed. A loud knocking came again before a voice sing songed out.
"Honey, I'm home.~"
You sighed in relief hearing Douma but made no move to unlock the door or even get near it. "Go away, Douma."
"Aw. But I came to see my darling wife. After all....you made a promise.~"
"I've made up my mind. I'm not marrying you."
"You gave no reason to not marry me! And you have a debt to pay dear. After all...You. Lost."
You continued to stare at the door and a small shiver went down your spine. "I'm not ready to marry you! There's a good enough-"
The front door slid right open. Revealing the smiling figure on the other side before he smiled wider and walked in his hooves clip clopping across the wooden floor. Your eyes nearly bugged out.
"... Reason. HOW THE HELL DID YOU GET THAT OPEN?!"
"It's a sliding lock. All I had to do was lift up the door off the frame a bit to slide it out. You should really get that fixed." He ignored your gobsmacked look as he just made himself at home by plopping on the floor and looking around. "Now what did you make for dinner, Darling? I'm still famished from work."
"I-... You-...RRRRRRRRR!!" You grabbed your face sliding down your hands slowly before pointing at him. "You're as stubborn as a mule! I'm surprised you're not half donkey instead!"
He chuckled. "Naturally.~"
You groaned. "What am I going to do know?"
You yelped as a hand grabbed yours and a second later you were just pulled flush against another body as a fanged smile smiled down at you. "Well...We could always do this, My darling wife.~"
Your eyes only widened as a pair of lips again graced yours.

I do like the idea of monster!batfam not even just in a human looking monster but like in completely different from human to the point it's animalistic and also don't have the same language/behaviors.
I've read some AU of different fandoms like that and it's always been very fun.
Basically human!reader adopted by monster. Which is like a human adopted by a Jaguar with how different they are. Which also makes it so they don't know what age the reader is which can make a misunderstanding of treating the reader like an adolescent/ baby.
Yeah!!! And I wasn't exactly talking about human-looking monsters either, though there may be a few.
I have drawn and created monsters of my own in the past, and really want to try out some ideas that I have for this little idea of mine that I'm hoping I can pull off. Though I will say that the ideas I have are a bit more... odd-ish?
I do like that idea!! And it definitely has some potential and everything, so I may use it a bit, but in the spirit of an upcoming holiday, I'm hoping to go a bit on the darker side! Er- only a bit, though.
Human!Reader being adopted by a monster, both has SO much yandere and humor potential that I am dying to see how it'd play out- but I do already have some ideas in mind :] (though if an ask got sent in I wouldn't mind-)
Really, I think the only close-to-human monsters may be a sprinkle of someone being a Mimic, or a Vampire (I would also say werewolf but they're in the wolf form for the whole thing so...), and maybe that?? Other idea I have??? But even then I'll probably have some messed up idea along the way so they aren't too human. Which, of course, human-like monster definitely have some potential, and depending on your preference- could arguably be scarier. But I'm trying to push myself a little to see how I can do this!
Oh! And when I say monster, I do mean like, more mythos and creatures??? Not like Elves or Centaurs (in a way where they don't exactly look human, but on a similar mythical level I guess?), but more... hm, I guess more like monsters in film and media. Though I wouldn't go as far as "Alien" or "The Thing."
I just like making monsters, they can be silly guys!!! Though I do want to try and write one out, so we'll see how it goes :]
I do have some ideas planned, even with a monster!reader (who have relatively human shapes and such,,, except for one idea, but we're not there yet-), where it's a whole "you're not human but... that just makes you more special to me, so you're mine now <3" thing (kinda-).
Anyways, I'm glad you like the idea of a Monster!Batfam. I just hope that you and others will like my interpretations and ideas for them! Though if it ends up not being your cup of tea, then that's okay too!
Also if any of this did confuse you then I apologize 😅
