Firstly, none of y'all fucks gave a single damn when klaus used ai to colour 2d drawings and people wanted to redefine 2d as being ok if all we see is computer generated.

None of y'all fucks even gave a damn when pixar tried to redefine 2d as 3d art with a 2d filter. So don't try to claim you give a damn about art when you were fine throwing everyone who's ever done 2d animation under the bus repeatedly. (this doesn't apply if you, like me, were there arguing against these fucks. You're fine. But you know the fucks i'm talking about "future of 2d, new frontier bluhbluhbluh")

The shit you claim ai is doing now. It's not. And i've seen some truly unhinged shit that's either 1. been disproven or 2. is just fully illogical.

Example A: The ai is stealing actual furry art scam that was REPEATEDLY proven to be false. But this sure went around on twitter and tumblr and then the people who literally faked it tried to pull some bs "it was a social experiment" "It was to show how it could end up" nonsense. Fuck you.

Example B, the only case i've seen a job "stolen", word used FUCKING loosely: In a comments section i saw a dude explained that for his souvenir photography shop, their boss is using an ai to colour correct the photos and the photographers aren't allowed to change the settings on the camera (implied: because the ai won't work unless it has specific camera settings).

So this dude thinks the photographers job got stolen because the photographer can't adjust the camera settings and because his job description changed from colour correcting to checking that the ai hasn't messed up. Homeboy wasn't fired/ctx

To explain to you, in case you genuinely have no knowledge of history or how things work in job markets /gen:

These things have been happening since the industrial era and yet i'm not seeing a single one of you arguing for us to go back to pre machinery sweat shops for young girls. Cus y'all do realise that pre machinery, in history, the norm was FUCKING SWEAT SHOPS in the global north, right?

Ugh, finally left the Edwin’s Generation/Homeboy’s Got Receipts stream. I usually just unsubscribe and ignore creators I hate but I actually like the guy sometimes lol. But tonight, man he was just a mess. Sometimes you get a peek when he literally fights with people in the comments but he has a really toxic side to him that just fires off randomly sometimes.

Tonight, it was supposed to be about the Chris Hanson Onision documentary, instead it was mostly about criticism from another YouTuber Jaclyn Glenn. More or less what happened was that no YouTuber wanted to be on the documentary because of the lack of trust and the fact that everyone doubted they would keep the victims who wanted to remain private out of the show. Edwin joined anyway despite literally everyone else warning him not to do it and be careful so, he made a stream where he got drunk and heated, even when he wasn’t drunk though, he made a bunch of remarks saying how “Everything is okay” he’d talked to producers and “thoroughly vetted” them to make sure the private victims wouldn’t be exploited. Big Shocker, it happened anyway. Jaclyn then made reviews of the episodes and criticized how Edwin handled his info on and off the show.

The toxicity comes when just a few minutes ago (that I’m writing this) he made this whole stream freaking out and trying to start a fight with Jaclyn. Did she come off condescending, yes, should that affect the validity of her critique, no. She made some really good points but the fact is that Edwin just can’t take criticism. He cried and gas lit, “forgot” about the vitriol he was spitting in the chat, it was just awful.

To top it all off, something that Edwin has been criticized for the longest is the company he keeps. He tried to criticize Jaclyn for being friends with Blare White when ON STREAM Augie RFC defended Shane Dawson and his racist videos which then led up to EDWIN attempting to make a racist allegory about “Running into thugs and rappers in an alley” and having something bad happen to him.

Taio, a timeline

Okay, receipts:

Taio 1.0. OG Taio. Cutie Dummy. Wide-eyed soldier of fortune. More or less beyond reproach. First playthrough of that weird open-world dating sim my friends had been talking about a couple years ago. Over the course of the game as we encountered weird cutscene angles or janky texture shadows or whatever, we did little refinements which ultimately resulted in:

My roommate and I split this playthrough pretty much 50/50 so she got to give him the poofy lips. Dorian is grateful. We got busy and never got to TP, and after I was playing Niamh and Cato a bit in the interim, we got curious about...

Taio 2.5. ~MAGE BABY TAIO~. PRECIOUS SQUASHED BEAN. NICE AND GOOD LAMB. We consider this an AU where he’s about 10 years younger than usual and it SHOWS. Big gooby cartoon eyes. Smooth face smooth brain. Gave up on the endeavor once we got to Skyhold because honestly, it just didn’t feel right to have a Taio who couldn’t go smashy smashy. But STILL. LOOK AT HIM. HOLD AND CUDDLE HIM AND GIVE HIM YOUR PROTECTION.

Reminder at this point that we played the entire franchise widdershins: Inquisition first, then jumping back to Origins (oh, so THAT’S Morrigan...) and finally DA2.

By this point I’ve got a shitload more playthroughs. Reed, Niamh, Ari, Cato. A couple deleted dwarves. Reed’s twin sister Lark who’s more manly than he is. Sarielle who’s going to be our dirtbag solasmancing assquisitor who I just can’t bring myself to work on.

So we fill out the DA Keep with all our best choices, figuring we’ll start a fresh game on my roommate’s PSN, no golden nug, no shortcuts, no skipped characters, and do it all and take our time.

So we get into the generator to whip up Taio from memory for the fourth time. And this happened.

Taio 3.0. Ultimate Taio. Platonic Ideal of Taio. We’re back to the chestnut hair. We've got 1.0′s wider-set eyes and lower-set ears. We’ve got 2.0′s heavy nose and jaw. We’ve got Mage Taio’s more vivid eyes and ridiculous cheekbones. We’ve got a heavy brow situation because we forgot to go in for those sliders and wound up with deep-set eyes that stare into your very SOUL.

I’d been wondering what happened to the guy after his last meltdown and I found the following video:

I don’t want to write an essay so here’s the long and short, including what the video says happened, I used to be a fan of the guy but as soon as he started getting popular he became a real asshole. I followed Edwin because his story started as this genuine sweet guy being kicked out of his house and being the victim of a bigger YouTuber. His retelling of this horrifying experience witnessing the abuse of his girlfriend and having to pick himself up was inspiring. Then he started getting popular and covering other abuse stories, acting like a jerk to anyone who disagreed with him. He started having public freak outs on livestreams and fighting with fans. I finally unsubscribed when he messed up the Discovery Channel Onision thing and wouldn’t take accountability for his actions. I think it’s good that’s he’s stepped away from the internet to recover and I hope he makes more constructive choices in the future.
