I just want to see Veronica at least tweak out on somebody.
Honestly, my girl is doing well
First, Bebe fell out with her
Then Butters laid down some hometruths
Now Wendy?
I would be in bed sobbing if it were me

The Universal Truths
Writing from a universal standpoint in the way I do is an advantage because the universal truths affects us all. No one escapes the universal truths.
My blog The CP Diary is based on my truths and the universal truths. The universal truths are out there, the universe knows everything we haven’t yet thought about. Whether we’re taking note or not, from a universal standpoint if the information is out there, we are governed by what those truths expect of us.
I write from a universal perspective for a number of key reasons. Writing the truth is the right thing to do, and life works out better when we do. Also, writing the truth helps me function in my autistic world. But the universal truths aren’t just my truths, they belong to us all, therefore it is important we live and incorporate those truths into our daily lives.
Once we understand the rules and how universal truths play out in our personal lives, our lives can become more productive and a lot easier. When we work in truth, we set ourselves free.
We make our lives more complicated and challenging when we fail to incorporate the universal truths into our life. Working from our own truths isn’t the same thing. Anyone can put a spin on the truth, on how they see things, how they want things to go.
There would be less to worry about if we incorporated and worked with the universal truths and our lives would work out better, but the truth is that unless we incorporate universal truths into our lives and we start make better choices, we will all continue to struggle.

Another late night relaxation listen. I’d actually heard this one before but it holds up to relistening. Like so many first Doctor stories, it’s almost a creepy ghost story disguised as science fiction. And it’s a clever way to bring back Jean Marsh (one of my mom’s favorite actors from Upstairs, Downstairs) as her character, Sara Kingdom. I know this story is followed up on later, so I wanted to go back to the beginning. #thismakesmehappy #bigfinishproductions #doctorwho #bigfinishdoctorwho #bbcdoctorwho #doctorwho_bbca #doctorwhoaudios #audiobook #audiobooks #companionchronicles #doctorwhohometruths #hometruths #sarakingdom #jeanmarsh #simonguerrier https://www.instagram.com/p/CXWY_XMprFv/?utm_medium=tumblr

❛ you feel like home to me. ❜
A/N: Thank you for the prompt! This is a dad trio fic, so any reference to Rat or Toad is actually Rat Sr and Toad Sr; they just don't get those titles until later.
(This prompt is the reason I took so long with the rest - I got distracted by this, which grew from a ficlet to a oneshot, despite my best efforts.)
x
Everyone knows badgers are solitary creatures, keeping to their homes and their own.
Everyone knows that. Badger, most of all.
Everyone, it would seem, but the toad and water rat.
He turns the blindingly-bright-green invitation over in his paws and throws a disparaging look at the unfortunate delivery-rabbit. “I’m not going.”
“Mr Toad said you might say that,” the rabbit replies, “and told me to tell you, if you did, that that’s your choice.” She pushes the card, which Badger is attempting to return, back into his paws. “But since it is his choice to invite you to the winter fair, all he requests is that you at least keep the invitation.” She winks. “Just in case.”
x
He doesn’t go.
But neither does the invitation, which stays tucked between the pages of a favourite book.
x
Badger wasn’t aware there were that many celebrations above-ground, and sometimes he wonders if Toad is simply making them up, just to have an excuse to send out another round of invitations.
“I mean, cheese-rolling?” he asks the rabbit. “Really?”
“It’s an, uh, old tradition.”
“We don’t have the hills for cheese-rolling.”
There, the rabbit pauses, while Badger tries to recall from his limited forays beyond the Wild Wood whether there are indeed any decent cheese-rolling hills in the vicinity. “Mr Toad will find a way,” the rabbit decides, and Badger supposes that is true, even if Toad has to build the hill himself.
x
He doesn’t see if he’s right.
But the invitation slips into his pocket, and he forgets to remove it.
x
He doesn’t argue with the delivery rabbit over the open garden invitation. Or the scarecrow competition. Or the hog roast.
“Must be racking up quite the collection, huh?” she asks as she hands over yet another bright-green invitation.
“What’s this one for?”
“Does it really matter?”
He suppose it doesn’t. It’s not like he’s going to go, regardless.
x
The next time the rabbit comes with an invitation, Badger sends her back with a present for Toad’s belated birthday.
She doesn’t comment, but he sees her eyes skitter over the mirror set into the wall behind him. In its frame is tucked the card which he had dismissed so thoroughly on her previous appearance.
To remind him to pass the present along, he had told himself, but he forgets to discard it after.
x
“It won’t work, you know,” Badger overhears Rat warn Toad once.
Badger lingers behind the doorway, a tray of rapidly-cooling tea in his paws.
He doesn’t remember if he actually invited the two animals over, or whether they simply turned up and he took it as read that he had, either intentionally or accidentally, offered for them to visit. Perhaps it’s better that way; if they waited for an invite in as many words, his home would have forgotten how to house guests by now.
“Of course it’ll work,” Toad scoffs.
“Just like all the other times?” Rat asks.
“I have a really good feeling about this one.”
There is a pause, the kind which Badger has come to recognise as Rat mulling over the best way to rein in his friend’s eccentricities. “Toad,” he begins slowly, “not everyone is quite the social butterfly you are.”
“And?”
“And, well, you know what badgers are like. They’re homebodies; they keep to themselves. I know you want him to come, but–”
“So I’m going to keep offering,” Toad says.
“And if he keeps refusing?”
“Look, Rat,” Toad says, and there’s something not quite patronising in his tone, but as if gently revealing a hometruth gone unnoticed, “it’s not about whehter or not he comes to the summer fete, it’s about giving him the choice.”
x
Badger misses the summer fete.
His friends drop by the following day regardless, and he accepts the gifts they bring from the fair (the jam and chutney he can make use of; he’s not so sure about the umbrella Toad won from the tombola) and patiently listens to their recounts of the day.
At the end of the evening, Badger remembers to lend Rat the book he’s been promising to for weeks, but forgets the bookmark within until a seasons-old card slips from its pages.
Rat doesn’t remark on it, but a week later Badger receives another invitation.
This one is not printed on expensive green card, but instead is a simple, handwritten affair. It smells of water and fresh vegetation, and bears Rat’s familiar legible-but-untidy scrawl.
x
Badger doesn’t attend the picnic, but the invite joins the rest, in odd places across his home.
It is the first of its kind, but not the last.
x
“This says Mr Badger’s Sett.” Badger looks over at his two best friends. “I’m not hosting a party.”
“But that’s the beauty of this!” Toad enthuses. “You don’t have to organise anything – I’ll take care of it all.”
“We will,” Rat amends.
“Has it perhaps occurred to you that I don’t want a party here?”
“Not even for your birthday?”
“Calling it a party might be overselling it,” Rat says, overriding whatever spiel Toad was about to embark on. “Seeing as there’ll only be three attendees.”
“Three?”
“Rat convinced me to scale down the celebration,” Toad says, with a good-natured eye-roll. “Something about you preferring a more low-key event.”
Badger looks over the beautifully-embossed card, as lovingly crafted as any of Toad’s other invitations, and begrudgingly grumbles. “Alright. But I’m ruling out charades.”
x
Somehow, after a good meal, possibly too many drinks, and a lot of laughter, charades happens anyway. He doesn’t even mind Toad’s disastrous attempt to convey War and Peace through plot alone, nor Rat’s hapless go at Sense and Sensibility, and as the evening draws in, something akin to coming home settles in him.
x
The invitation finds its way onto the mantelpiece and somehow never leaves.
x
A month passes, and Badger finds a familiar invitation being thrust into his paws. He reads the immaculate script, and turns the blindingly-green card between his claws.
“The winter fair again?” he asks.
The rabbit shrugs. “It turns out that winter’s kinda of an annual thing. I can take it back, if you want – I mean, I get it if you don’t want a duplicate–”
“I’m good, thanks.”
She smiles and tips her hat. “Always good to see you, Mr Badger.”
x
He isn’t sure what he’s doing until he’s out of his sett, coat and scarf wrapped tight, and moving through the Wild Wood. The invite hasn’t moved from his pocket, but that’s purely coincidental.
“You know what badgers are like,” Rat’s voice echoes in his mind, words from what feels like a lifetime ago.
He breaches the edge of the wood, where the weak winter sun is casting the river in pale light. There’s a crispness to the air along the bank he had forgotten.
“They're homebodies.”
There’s no need to ask for directions, for all he need do is follow the sound of people to bring him to Toad Hall. He stands in the shadow of the mansion, and abruptly feels the scale of the celebration, of the grounds, and of the guests.
“They keep to themselves.”
He tries to ignore the curious looks, but there is a sinking sensation in his gut that he has made a mistake. A craving for earthen tunnels and heavy underground air and home hits him and –
And then two very familiar animals find him – a toad and a water rat – that same feeling of returning settles him.
“What happened?” Rat asks later, once they have drawn Badger into the celebrations, and that instinct to flee has quietened. “I thought you told us you’d never leave home for something like this.”
“Never attend one of Toad’s blasted, overdone, overflowing parties when I can just as easily – easier, in fact – have just as good a time at home,” Toad quotes with a grin. “If I remember correctly.”
“And I stand by that,” Badger says. “But I realised one very important thing: you feel like home to me.”
x
Everyone knows badgers are solitary creatures, keeping to their homes and their own.
Everyone knows that.
Badger, most of all.

open event 003. word count: 4,023.
“seo junhwan, where’s your head at?”
it’s not the first time she’s asked him that, but his reaction this time is vastly different. this time, he can’t lie, looking over his shoulder with a wounded expression at one of lgc’s vocal coaches. junhwan slumps over further in his seat in the dimly lit studio, slowly turning around while using the table as leverage. his initial answer to her question is an absent stare, betrayed by emotionally revealing furrowed brows, as he runs his tongue along the edges of his teeth.
“nowhere good, i’m guessing.”
she’s a kind woman, kinder than junhwan probably deserves, leaning against the doorframe wearing a good natured smile. she doesn’t come any closer. junhwan’s painfully aware of the invisible bubble he’s surrounded himself with, affording him the safety he needs right now in exchange for his usual approachable warmth. his hands dangle between his spread legs, feet positioned precariously on the wheeled legs of the chair. he’s poised to leave, to brush past the vocal coach with a rough swing of his shoulder, to march all the way back to his new old dorms. there’s liquor there, a bottle kept snug beneath his socks and underwear. he wets his lips at the thought of it.
he’s ready to leave, but he stays, and straightens his shoulders, sitting back in his chair. the air in the room lightens up, just a little, and the vocal coach steps into the room properly, shutting the door behind her with a solemn sigh before she faces him directly, hands clasped over her stomach.
“are you done sulking?” there’s a hint of annoyance in her voice, a skeptical tone that puts junhwan back on edge. but she’s inside now, there’s no saving himself from whatever hometruths she’s planning on delivering. with a sniff, he pulls one leg up to his chest, and turns his face away. a definite no. “junhwan, i’ve seen how you’ve been acting, and you brought this on yourself.”
silence. he knows she’s right -- it was the first real opportunity he has to make something of himself and he treated it like a joke. then, once he realised he had to get serious, his confidence crumbled. he wasn’t prepared. he wasn’t ready.
would he ever be?
“why are you acting like your life’s over?”
because it is, he wants to say, but he knows that’s not true. junhwan is still breathing. he can still make something of himself. this just wasn’t his time. he knows all of that, but picking himself back up to move on with his day to day routine feels impossible. a massive part of him wants to leave. performing wasn’t ever his dream before he came here anyways. he never had ambition of any kind before, not in school, not in his personal life, nothing. but somewhere along the line, he decided that this bullshit, this stupid singing and dancing bullshit, was what he wanted to do -- really, though he’d never admitted it, not even to himself, he wasn’t just at the company to fuck around and see what happened. not anymore. that scares him more than anything else. living without goals or expectations is easy, he’s never been disappointed in his life before now, before kim hyuncheol sat him down and threw his own clownery back in his face. his skin is too thin. his fate was sealed at that interview, when junhwan had to scramble to defend himself, tail between his legs like a puppy, groveling to prove that he could be better.
he was never going to be better, not after he sacrificed his pride like that. he never recovered from that humiliation. there was no way he was going to perform at the level he needed to with his ego so brutally wounded.
but now he has a chance to recover his pride, an opportunity that’s arguably going to be better for him in the long run. junhwan knows that, and sees that point projected from the vocal coach’s fond gaze.
he clears his throat, dry from disuse all evening, and croaks, “i’ll be fine.” she accepts that easily enough, seemingly satisfied that she managed to get him to say anything at all.
“i’ll see you bright and early tomorrow then for singing practice?”
“yeah.”

Mama Hen has no computer (at the moment), The state of the fandom, and everything else.
My chicks, I'm sure you wondered where in the hell I've been. I'm still kicking. Going from doctors appointment to doctors appointment, but doing a little better! Any improvement is an improvement, and I'll take it! I've been battling with severe depression for several months that I honestly, just didn't want to deal with. I won't get into it all, because you don't come here to listen to me bitch about myself. The long and short of things, I'm 40, as most of you know. My sister is 41. I haven't been without my sister for 30 years. That's longer than most of you have been alive. When my sister moved to Texas last year (and there's a LOT more to it, a path of destruction a mile wide, but I'd forgive it all in a heartbeat to have her come home.) I didn't take it well. I haven't done well at all. In fact, I haven't been functional. Like I said, in 30 years, I've not been without my sister. I'm finally having to deal with this. Shit isn't easy, but it's getting better. My beloved oldest child killed my computer, which is why there hasn't been a new chapter released, or even worked on.
I'm going to take my computer into the shop tomorrow to get it repaired when I run errands. I haven't been on Tumblr much, or a lot of anything that required much typing because I have acrylic nails and I abhor typing on my phone. I decided to check in because I had a bad health day and have been stuck on the couch. Lo and behold my chicks, I'm deeply saddened to see there's been some drama, but I guess, when the hell isn't? Am I right?
So, we're gonna have some "Hometruths With Mama Hen" again. I'm not gonna ream anyone's ass, because I wasn't here for this. What I'm getting was a "he said, she said" situation, but it's enough to warrent a speech. Ya'll know I've been around a decade or four. It doesn't mean I'm necessarily smarter than you, it means I've lived longer, and done more stupid shit. I learned lessons the hard way. Sometimes over, and over. I know we've talked about it before, but for those who haven't read my blog, or are reading for the first time IF you read a story in a fandom or PERIOD that is NOT to your liking, what do you? You CAN certainly leave CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM to the writer if it's an issue of something the writer can improve upon. This helps the writer to become a better writer in time. If the issue is content- for instance: you are triggered by bondage stories, and the story you read was a story about bondage, DO NOT be angry at the author and lash out at them for triggering you if they are known to post stories of this nature. DO NOT condemn those who do enjoy stories of this nature, or any other nature, because you are triggered by it. And for God's sake, DO NOT self harm, take photographs of it, and post this. Attempting to trigger others because you were triggered: two wrongs doesn't make a right.
I know I've touched on it before, but I live with PTSD. I understand being triggered. I am 10 years removed from my trauma, and there are things that can still trigger me VERY deeply. I will be very candid. My PTSD was caused from childbirth. I was severely neglected during the 18 1/2 hours I was in labor with my daughter. I genuinely believed we both were going to die. She was born not breathing. She'd aspirated meconium. Where she had been laying in the birth canal for so long, I had developed an Obstetric Fistula the size of a golf ball. That is a hole in the wall between the rectum and vagina the size of a golf ball. I also had a 4th degree tear. I had a repair that failed shortly after her birth. It took 15 months for me to find a specialist to heal me. I lived that way for 15 months. I won't tell you everything that triggers me. I'll spare you. For the most part, I can use my coping skills and deal internally. I attempted suicide twice the first year. I gave you the bare bones minimum details. What happened to me, what I survived, and how I lived was horrific.
Despite what I went through, and as triggered as I am by natural childbirth and the thoughts of ever giving birth again, I realize what happened to me doesn't happen to every woman. Every woman should be able to make the choice to give birth to her baby the way she chooses (as long as she and her baby will be safe). I may think someone who CHOOSES to give birth without painkillers (mine didn't work) is nuts, but it's their choice, I'm not going to bash them. I'm going to show empathy to any woman who has a complication naturally or surgically. No one deserves that. No one deserves what happened to me.
Be kind to one another my chicks, but take no shit. There's no sense in attacking someone because you don't like something. If you don't like something: scroll on. I do it a lot these days on Facebook. If you like something, let someone know, so they can write, draw, ect. more of it. If you have a problem, go to someone and talk to them. If you can't talk to them, talk to a friend- talk to someone. Before you do something rash, take a walk, go for a smoke, take a bath, text a friend, listen to some music- do something to cool down. Trust me, you'll feel a LOT better. Love to ALL. See you when I get this damn computer fixed!
