Goncharov posting is so popular because it requires no time commitment to read/watch source material in order to have fun engaging with it, which is vital because we all know full well it’s never the Right Time to start a new show/movie/book/etc.

#goncharov #tumblr is collectively pouring out their creative energies into making edits and music and meta about goncharov #specifically BECAUSE all of us have a lot of passion and talent and creative drive for those things #but are lacking the crucial executive function/mental energy to start a new show/movie/band/podcast/book whatever #so we've all just decided to sublimate those artistic talents into this thing that does not exist and validate each others' efforts #honestly that's beautiful #fandom is community not content #there have been a lot of post nov 5th days that have had the feeling of an aftershock #but this is the only absurd communal yes/and nonsense that has managed even a fraction of the same energy

Studying linguistics is actually so wonderful because when you explain youth slang to older professors, instead of complaining about how "your generation can't speak right/ you're butchering the language" they light up and go “really? That’s so wonderful! What an innovative construction! Isn't language wonderful?"

#linguistics #gen z slang #english #as people in the reblog pointed out!#most gen z slang comes from (or was appropriated from) aave #honestly I was just excited to talk about how people in my field actually get excited about non standard uses of English #instead of ridiculing speakers #and I tagged incorrectly and didn’t point out the very real issues of language and power and appropriation inherent in modern slang #in that much of it was appropriated #and even that which experiences language change in the wider culture still originated in aave #aave is just as linguistically valid as any other English dialect because it is a proper language #and the grammar is incredible!!!#habitual be is fantastic and an excellent example of how a richer case system or a certain case can render an adverb unnecessary #and the phonology is just beautiful #anyway I’m very sorry #I fucked up

The tragic thing about him is that he goes through cycles of doing this, this isn't the first time he's thrown all of himself into someone in the hopes that that someone will save him from this darkness that's in him. And I think all the characters in this show have that to an extent and battle with degrees of that and Armand is like particularly devastating ‘cause you really want to help him but then he does not help himself, so it just makes you love and loathe him and I know people like that in my life where you're just like, ‘I really want to love you but you're making it so difficult because you're not seeing the patterns in your behaviour’. [x]

Congratulations My Hero Academia for providing, possibly, the biggest and longest legit straightbaiting yet in shonen history.

Bonus points that their final chapter was released on yaoi day.

#first of all absolutely no hate to izuocha #i actually really like them together romantically or not. i love their dynamic so much #but you must know just how hilarious and absurd it is #that this series started with them crushing on each other #and then ochako's attraction to deku became an important part of her character #BUT they completely turn it around and made it about #deku's meaning as a hero and being saved #and ochakos expression of love and understanding others #like. that is legit very compelling and a beautiful relationship #but they did not become A Couple. at least- nothing confirms nor denies it #just like how a queerbait relationship would be #absolutely hilarious. i honestly love how it ended like this #doesnt mean i love the ending tho. oh boy its weird and legit bad in many areas #But this?
