ive just received an nhs appointment from a waiting list i didnt even know i was on for a problem ive been getting private treatment for since summer 2022. i cannot imagine having to go this last 2 years without any medical care whatsoever i feel like im witnessing a nightmarish alternate reality

#professor james malone lee is literally dead and is still doing more for me than our massacred nhs ever could #the absolute fuck of it all is that the nhs consultant that the appointment is with is a guy ive ALREADY SEEN #i paid £200 to see him at a local private hospital in like 2021 and he literally did NOTHINGGGGG HE DID NOTHING #IM BITING CLAWING KILLING

did some digging and i THINK what actually is causing this new kidney decline is that back in may at my appointment they doubled the dose of one of my blood pressure meds that can really fuck up your kidneys if taken at high doses for a long time and lo and behold a month and a half later there's Problems

#:)#they're treating it as a diet thing but i've been eating the same stuff constantly since i left hospital in march #and this is a sudden downturn that would track with too much blood pressure meds in my system #sucks that i don't get to see my kidney consultant until august because this probably needs dealing with asap #since if it is meds no amount of restrictive dieting will actually help lmao #might hope that the endocrinologist tomorrow will be able to help somehow because it's all technically one expanded care team for me lol #if not i gotta call the gp on wednesday (i'm out and busy monday and tuesday) and hope they can somehow contact someone about this #that said i think the fact that Every Single blood pressure med they've given me has had detrimental effects is not a good sign lmao

afa;ldf;lakdflk;asdf urgh sorry i've been MIA i unexpectedly got super busy with the grant and my grand rounds and having to pick up shifts for people with emergencies/illnesses/moving PLUS my 'graduation' is tomorrow so i'm all over the place AHHHHH

AND fellowship number 2 starts in literally 12 days WHY DONT I HAVE MY SCHEDULE YET #i really REALLY wanted to finish the path to paradise by end of june but honestly i dont think that's happening #the most batshit thing i did on monday is cover for a shift at hospital A from 8am-6pm then cover a shift at hospital B from 8pm to 7am.#and they were both INSANELY busy #the first is just a consult shift so it wasn't too bad #but the second is my icu community shift and GOD #this person coded at 2am and i probably didn't leave her side until at least 5 am #its just INSANE. INSANE that i didn't get called before she coded #like i think the reason all my codes at this hospital get ROSC is because these people would NEVER have coded at the academic one #and this is FAR from the first time this has happened #you. you let this woman. sit on the floor. with BPs in the 70s. for HOW long? you left this OTHER woman completely obtunded on a bipap?!?!?#for DAYS?!?!??!?! WITHOUT TALKING TO THE ICU?! AND ONLY CALLED WHEN THEY GOT HYPOTENSIVE?!#this is horrifying. like legitimately. must be nice to practice shit medicine and when your patient crashes just wipe your hands and let #the icu doc deal with the fallout #i realize i signed up for this #but it always feels crappy when i can't tell families 'yeah no the reason your loved one is dying is probably because they were mismanaged'#and i'm gonna keep it real with you chief. its the racism too #hospital A is in the rich part of the city #hospital B is close to the border with mexico #less densely populated/less desirable areas hire less desirable doctors (all staff really)#its often like 30% people who care about the community #and 70% of people who can't get jobs elsewhere #and the economic disparity even between branches of the SAME HOSPITAL SYSTEM is staggering #healthcare in america is a fucking joke #also. like.#in rich person hospital A monday #got a consult for this guy who is a 'medical mystery'#seen at a bunch of different hospitals by a lot of different doctors #...and i'm 90% sure the way he got his lung disease is by crushing up pain and/or anxiety meds and injecting them #but see the reason no one suspects this. is because he's a wealthy white man

The vtuber enjoyer community is currently learning why multi-channel networks didn't work back in the old days of YouTube, except in the present day it's somehow even more fucked because the companies also own their channels and revenue sources and IP.

#vtuber stuff #i do love creators currently in corporations rn but there is a part of me that is annoyed that the only reason theyre so big is due to money #money as in start up costs and advertising and merch production etc etc #and then you cant really publicly advertise that channel is connected to you and your work #which is double fucked if you leave/get fired/whatever after some time and after a certain point dont even get residuals #cant really put it on your resume either and since its a niche of a niche less-online jobs just dont count it as experience without proof #its such cool technology (even just live 2d tracking) but the barrier to entry and ceiling of quality keeps getting higher even year #not to mention the power that these companies have over their talents in the way the industry is currently configured #its even more fucked if you start thinking on a systematic level #but yeah the current nijisanji PR trainwreck is a special kind of fucked #bullying and isolating their talent to the point of a suicide attempt? im not an expert in Canadian law but im pretty sure thats illegal #at the very least niji continually calling selens emergency contact (and probably hospital) to make a statement is probably against the law #seriously hope selen/doki and her family gets some legal consult because this is so fucked up #and the way they fired her is also probably illegal under canadian law

girl who is not going to be okay (i need to phone the gp to chase up a missing prescription)

#:)#two weeks ago i gave them a letter requesting a dosage change on the order of my hospital consultant #and they said 'oh yeah it should be ready for you in 2 or 3 working days' which didn't happen #but my regular prescription runs out in like two days time and the pharmacy hasn't received any info for almost a month #so like. my regular prescription isn't being processed and my new dosage never got dealt with so. very cool situation #do you know how Awful it feels having to make phone enquiries every single month about my meds because there's always problems #i don't wanna chew them out for not being good because my gp has a budget of 50p but like. it's updating a prescription dosage #why is this so hard for anyone to actually do effectively............#to make matters worse when i gave them the letter they said 'our other services are slow but we are still really quick with prescriptions'#like lol. lmao even #maybe they're withholding my prescription because i have bad vibes. maybe it's my destiny to just explode and die......
