Well, I'm not sure how my last few days in Terceira are going. I haven't been checking the weather but seems to be rainy again. My alternate self is making the best of it, I'm sure.

In the meantime, I've hashed out my itinerary for São Miguel!

I've been using the Civitatis website to "book" tours. Wow! It's already slim-pickings for some of the tours! Or maybe because it's still shoulder season there weren't as many dates on offer to begin with.

In any case, weather or no weather, I'm just going to bite the bullet and book the tours I want before they're gone.

The first few tours still have lots of dates available, so I might be able to cancel and rebook depending on the weather.

There are two tours that depart from Vila Franca do Campo. I've already booked accommodations for the first 11 nights in Ponta Delgada, so I'm not going to try to stay in Vila Franca. However, there is apparently a bus that runs Ponta Delgada - Vila Franca do Campo fairly regularly and is dirt cheap. It's hard to find information online but probably will be easy enough to figure out on the ground. The tours are later in the day so it shouldn't be a problem to catch a bus first thing in the morning and get there on time.

The last tour I've booked before I head to Ribeira Grande is a two-day tour and will actually cover some of the places I'm scheduled to see in earlier tours. I figure this is a kind of "rain insurance". The earlier tours are hiking/biking tours that will be a more in-depth exploration of the areas. But if I get rained out on those days at least I'll get a second chance to experience them. And if I'm lucky enough to not get rained out at all then I'll get to see them twice!

The only thing is, the second day of the tour is the same day I'm scheduled to check in at the hostel in Ribeira Grande. I thought it might be better to spend that night in Ponta Delgada and go to Ribeira Grande on the 18th. But when I checked the dates for Casa do Teatro, they were already completely booked! See, I told you, book accommodations now, figure out itinerary later!

So after a long day of sight-seeing when all I'll want to do is go back to my room, I'm going to have to catch a bus to Ribeira Grande. Oh well, just gonna have to suck it up.

Charlie Morningstar Redesign

Initially I wanted to keep Charlie's design mostly the same, just changing her outfit and adding more goat themed features, but she kinda got away from me. I'm really happy with how she turned out! Though I might end up going a different direction with my rewrite project.

A few notes under the cut!

I do really love the apple theming with a golden apple. Yellow is such a bright happy color and I think Charlie wearing it works super well. I imagine Vaggie calling her Sunshine as a pet name.

I like the idea of Charlie being inspired by Disney princesses and I thought Beauty and the Beast's story has some neat themes of redemption, punishment, and caring for others being a drive to change.

I love goat features a lot, I tried to also get sheep in there for the whole sacrificial lamb biblical motif. Fun!

Also, I'm no animator. No clue if this would be easier or harder to animate.

Lucifer: Literally any pet name you can think of- All the time. He uses pet names more than your actual name. His favorites are Darling, My love, Sweetheart.

Mimzy: Sugar, Dollface, Buttercup, Cinnamon- Would use nicknames for most people, really unique cute ones.

Adam: Hot stuff, Eye Candy, Ball Plunger, Meat Condom, Weiner Wetter- …. Can’t change my mind. Every day, all day. You don’t have a name anymore.

Rosie: Darling, Sweetheart/Sweetie, Love, Doll- Sweet auntie vibes. Love her, she would use them pretty often, both platonic and romantic.

Lute: Hon - Honestly all I could think of. I love her but I feel like she wouldn’t use them much.

Sera: Darling, Dove, Sunshine - She uses pet names on certain people, like children (don’t be weird in like a motherly way), or her SO.

Cherri Bomb: Sugar Pie, Dollface, Cutie, Good looking, Boo - She would use nicknames on people that she close to, like friends. You will usually get a nickname specifically for you :)

Sir pentious: Uhhhh - He would try but can not for the life of him figure any out. Like bro would call you an egg and then just never again.

Nifty (Platonic): Beetle, Rolly pollie, Roach - Personal headcanon of mine; she likes to give people nickname based on different bugs.

Donnie didn’t look up from what he was doing, typing on his laptop at top speed. “Why would you be a worm?”

“Stop asking for specifics and answer the question.” Leo was sitting on the floor next to his bed. He’d shown up and refused to leave, even though it was four AM.

“I’m busy, Nardo.” Donnie said, rolling his eyes.

Leo pulled his knees closer to his chest. He didn’t look over at Donnie on the bed. “Come on, it’s an easy hypothetical meme dude, just answer the question.”

“Would I still love you if you were a worm?” Donnie repeated, incredulous. “What kind of meme is that?”

“Nevermind.” Leo squished his cheek as he turned his head away, oddly sad about it. “It presumes you love me right now, I guess.”

The room echoed with the sound of his laptop snapping shut. Donnie tossed it out the bed with a little bounce and joined his twin on the floor.

“Why are we being stupid down here?” Donnie asked, and wove his arm around Leo’s shoulders. He was cold, just in a sleep shirt and shorts. There were so many blankets for him to steal, why was he sitting on the ground?

“I’m not.” Leo protested, pathetically, still not looking his way.

“I would still love you if you were a worm.” Donnie replied, firm and unyielding. “I would put all of my effort into reversing whatever ridiculous situation turned you into a worm, and if I could not, then I would turn into a worm as well. And we’d be worms together.”

A hazy beat of 4AM silence. Leo turned his head to Donnie with shining, nearly teary eyes, and said in a wobbly voice, “We’d be worms together?”

“Yes, L.” Donnie tucked Leo’s head under his chin and ignored the dampness immediately on the collar of his shirt.
