That there’s a gemfolk alchemist who travels around the domes. And that they help imps escape favors, and keep out of trouble. In exchange for company and…keeping an eye out for gem shards?
Apparently the Imps that they hoard are like- set for life! And they help any others they run into.
Maybe you’ll run into them, the other Imps in my dome call them The North Star :}
Oh, that’s! Comvienent!
I’ll keep an ear out

{Am I...a God? Neat!}
-Chapter Nine: Shadow’s Gaze Upon the Land-
(Y/n) sat at the table staring holes into the two males across from them. They listened as Childe and Zhongli explained the situation and Zhongli's intentions of performing a parting rite for Rex Lapis. The old god hummed but said nothing during the entire exchange much to Aether's confusion and worry, Paimon was far too busy eating the compensated buffet to fully engage with the topic at hand. "So you wish for our help with this...rite of parting as you say...what do you think Starlight? Are you up to that task? If not do feel free to refuse..." They said gently whilst still looking at the two with sharp eyes of scrutiny. Upon hearing Aether quietly agree the old god nodded their head. "Very well then...I'll leave the children in your capable hands Mr. Zhongli....do see to it that nothing happens to them in the meantime..."
While they said this with a smile the tension in the air was so horribly charged with hostility it was clearly an underlying threat. They then stood up ruffling Aether's hair and patting Paimon's head as they began to leave," I have some matters to attend to for the moment...I'll return for the children later..." (Y/n) said with a wave of their hand as they finally parted from the restaurant. They then made their way to a darkened alley before fading into the shadows. Once done they soon reappeared from the shadow of a balcony that was being reconstructed on the peak of Dragonspine.
"Ah back again...How goes things Dorian? Polaris?" They asked as they floated behind the two with a curious look seeing the creature that they created was bouncing about happily whilst the homonculus poured over what looked like blueprints or schematics. Dorian glanced to the side a bit before fulling turning around with a short bow of respect. "I see you've returned..."
This drew of chuckle from the god’s chest as they gently straightened his form before speaking, “No need for that now Dorian….I may be something godly but treat me as you would anyone else….” They finished with a smile before patting his head and floating upwards towards the floating pillar in the sky just as Polaris flew after them to catch up as well. Reaching the top of the Skyfrost Nail, (Y/n)’s eyes glanced around at the view before them. A soft smile graced their face as they then closed their eyes and began to concentrate their power into an orb. The orb of condensed magic cosmic magic began to grow rapidly before it was the size of the average wagon wheel. Spinning it they chuckled before opening their eyes and letting the orb float above them and continue to grow before it was big enough to cover the top of the nail like the flat end of a nailhead. “I suppose I’ll repurpose this….” They murmured to themself as the orb exploded into a wave the covered the entirety of Dragonspine into a ripple effect. The snowstorm cleared and the Skyfrost Nail began to crack more before breaking into smaller and smaller chucks of crystal.
By this point the remaining crystal chunks floated around as the air around them compressed and spun them, like a rock tumbler polishing them to a fine finish. These refined crystals then gravitated towards each other before forming itself into a javelin style spear, glowing the same bright blue as the Skyfrost Nail had. “Perfect…hmm I’ll keep it simple and call it the Frosted Sky…” (Y/n) murmured to themselves once more as they floated back down to meet the curious gazes of the hilichurls and Dorian. Polaris was swaying from side to side in his typically happy dance, the sound of bell chimes ringing out as he cheered in praise of both the new weapon his creator had and the removal of celestial influence. “Dorian? I have something for you dear….” They murmured to old god said with a knowing look as they presented the javelin to him. “I’m aware you prefer the sword but I believe this polearm might serve you better in your question of self realization…and sorry not for your proficiency it will teach you how to use it best…..”
The blonde in question was slightly skeptical but regardless took the javelin from the god he’d begun to serve. As soon as his hands touched it he felt a wave of cooling like an icy wind wash over him. With a hum he swung the javelin to the side finding it to be with far more ease than he’d ever had wielding a sword, the ringing the weapon made as it swung through the air also gave a him a sense of awareness that he was deeply unaccustomed to. Yet despite this it felt oddly familiar as if there was a helping hand guiding his movements to wield this new weapon as if he’d done so always. “How…?” Dorian’s voice was now bewildered as home stared between the newly acquired weapon and (Y/n). “Simple…I just gave you a guiding hand is all…now use it well my dear Dorian…there will be changes to the monsters here and they will need both your and my guidance….but mostly yours as I will be busy for the next few days…If you truly need me that spear will call for me…take care everyone!”
They waved just before Dorian could speak and teleported back to Liyue.
As they exited the shadow cast by a nearby tree they took a moment to look around. Noticing that Zhongli and their children were all standing in front of Babu Pharmacy. Childe was also nearby laughing up a storm about a ‘Cocogoat’. Seems the old god was gone far longer than intended, they merely shrugged before approaching. “Ah greetings everyone I see you’re all in good spirits…” Aether smiled seeing his parent standing behind the no longer laughing Harbinger. Zhongli’s expression was slightly troubled at their presence and Childe was looking like a nervous kid that was caught being naughty.
Paimon’s smug expression as she floated past child acting huffy like an upset toddler making (Y/n) coo. “Oh it’s alright stardust…You couldn’t have known that little Qiqi was talking about Coconut Milk….” Though despite their comforting words they too were giggling about the situation with a knowing look. No one questioned how they knew what was being discussed. "But I suppose that means all the preparations for the rite of parting are completed yes?" The old god asked though it was obvious they already knew the answer. Zhongli cleared his throat before speaking, "Precisely...With that we shall be headed back to Yujing Terrace...Mr Childe, Dr. Baizhu, Little Miss Qiqi...see you soon..." As he left he could feel the eyes of the old god on him, and it took everything within him not to shudder at the feeling. Once he was out of sight (Y/n) let go of Paimon to let her float back to Aether's side as the two began to speak with Baizhu and Qiqi a bit more. Childe too had made his way out of the pharmacy shortly after Zhongli. Childe stood off to the side a bit as he calmed himself down from the good laugh he'd gotten from the situation, "So...you've been ease dropping I hope? What have I missed?" Instead of the voice he expected to hear which was that of his agent Ekaterina, he heard another familiar voice that instilled a sense of panic within him that he was unaccustomed to. "You've missed nothing other than my warning it would seem little harbinger...and no need to worry for Miss Ekaterina...she's back at the Northland Bank...though I can't attest to her mental state at the moment...poor girl seems rather...forgetful...." Once finished speaking they approached him before tapping his back," But I will throw you a bone for my own amusement...the Qixing are keeping the Exuvia in the Golden House....do use this information wisely...it'd be a shame really if you weren't able to fufill your mission of obtaining the Geo Archon's gnosis now wouldn't it..." Their voice came out almost like a purr that relayed the underlying threat to their words. "off you go~" They said with a gentle shove than sent him stumbling forwards a bit as the redhead quickly made his way down the long staircase without another word. With that interaction completed Aether and Paimon had just exited the Pharmacy having finished their conversation with Baizhu and Qiqi. "Ready to go you two?" (Y/n) asked with their usual chipper tone as they gentle pinched both companions' cheeks. Receiving a nod from their blonde son the old god then began to lead the way to Yujing Terrace.

Okay I'm gonna go insane here for a few minutes so bear with me. Or just don't click Keep Reading because this is gonna be a long post. Anyway I started having Thoughts a few weeks ago, as per usual, except these thoughts were just. "What if Starlo from UTY was a system." So now we have that I guess. I wrote down a list of all his alters as well as several notes. Please enjoy the culmination of at least 3 full Discord messages' worth of mental illness.
Starlo (he/him) - Co-host. The original guy in there. Farmboy. Handles family matters. Emotional Repression at it's finest; the others go and get him when something emotional is happening, he feels all of it but acts like he feels none of it.
North Star (he/him) - Co-host. Formed when Starlo was 15, so he's one of the two "normal" Stars. Sheriff of the Wild East in every way but one. Very silly, very over-the-top, and was the one that essentially adopted Clover at first sight while Starlo was trying to say Hey, Please Don't Do That. The hat is a trigger for him to come to front, but sometimes he takes a while. Starlo is a good actor, though.
Polaris (he/they) - The one to deal with truly dangerous situations. Formed after the first real bandit attack on the Wild East. Scared everyone when he came out for the second. Just talkative enough to intimidate his opponents and get things done, otherwise very quiet and often won't reply with words. He sticks to front for a long time, and won't leave until he sleeps. This has resulted in days without sleep and with only Polaris before.
Meta (??/??) - Formed after the Asriel Dreemurr fight, since Flowey had all the memories of Clover's Neutral runs. The sprite that appears in battle if you kill Star, a.k.a the guy I've written 65 whole physical pages about. Has a Hard Fucking Time talking but tries anyway. If he knew how to use a mouth, he'd be much more talkative, but as it stands he mostly just makes noises and short phrases. No shared memories, but vague feelings towards everyone the others know. Feels every bit of pain that their physical body does. Unfortunately hostile towards Clover, if they get revived.
Chujin (he/him) - Factive of actual Chujin, just… smugger and meaner. Treats Ceroba the way actual Chujin treated her, to an extent enforced by Starlo because he's awkward about it. Very "mad bc i had a kid with her and you didn't?" towards the others. Formed a few weeks after actual Chujin died, out of a desire to give Kanako back her father, somehow. Doesn't remember anything the hosts do, on purpose. He does, somehow, remember what Polaris and Meta do, though. Starlo and North Star hate him, but they have to admit that his handiness with tools is a good thing, sometimes.
And now: Notes
Polaris was co-fronting with North Star during Clover's battle with him. He was holding back. He knew, if the danger didn't come from Clover, it would've come from North Star himself. Didn't leave until long after Clover's battle with Ceroba (co-con with North, then with North and Starlo before he sent the letter to Clover warning them about her, then with just North again. If he'd been there alone and not just lurking in the shadows behind the other two, Ceroba probably wouldn't have knocked them down as easily.)
Fronting is like playing a video game, and then getting transported into the game until you step out again. There's a controller and a TV and everything- it's one of those old box TVs, since that was what Star used to watch all his movies on. It's probably a video game specifically thanks to Kanako.
North Star is responsible for breaking up fights in the headspace(usually verbal, and between Chujin and one of the others), by his own decree. He's pretty good at it... except when he gets into a fight himself. (This is why he sometimes takes a bit to come to front.)
Chujin doesn't know how to activate the glamour on North Star's hat that shadows his eyes like that. So unless North was already there immediately prior, Star's glasses are always visible when Chujin fronts.
Ceroba doesn't know how to react when her best friend suddenly starts acting like her dead husband.
... actually, she doesn't know how to react to any of Starlo's headmates, save for North and Starlo himself. She tends to treat them the same and tries not to read into it too much.
Starlo is aware of North Star, not so much of the others. He thinks Chujin might be a haunting, although "why me" is a question he can't really answer. He started thinking differently after finding the basement. He thinks Polaris is just a "mode" he set up for when Real Shit goes down, since he didn't know what to do the first time and panicked. He doesn't know that Meta exists for a long time.
After Kanako fell down and then was never released from the lab, Chujin got real depressed. Like, he took the brunt of all the Sad in comparison to everyone else. He doesn't front very often after the fact, but sometimes he'll come out to spend time with Ceroba and comfort her.
During Genocide, Polaris is co-fronting with North Star. He's been lingering in the back since they got the evacuation notice. They plus Starlo got everyone evacuated and then Starlo and North Star promptly had a full-blown panic attack meltdown once the town was well and truly empty. Polaris tried to keep track of what was going on outside of them, but the panic wasn't very good for that, so he stepped back for a bit to let them both calm down. When Clover arrived, Polaris was ready to shoot them on sight but North Star was the one who realized "oh shit fuck that's a CHILD" and made them hesitate for too long.
Upon viewing the tapes in their entirety, after Clover gives up their SOUL, Chujin starts to blame Ceroba for what happened to Kanako. Starlo reminds him that she was completely and entirely devoted to him, and technically this is his fault for not realizing that she Physically Cannot Say No to her family when it's not about, like, having two bowls of ice cream for dinner. They end up fighting over this for a while and North Star is just there, in the basement, putting all the tapes back where they belong so he doesn't start screaming
During the Asriel Dreemurr fight, I like to think that all the SOULs are There, in a sense, like in a giant room all grouped together as sort of ethereal versions of themselves. Star (as well as any other system present) looks weird, since it's a manifestation of his SOUL and not his actual body. So instead of looking like his normal self, he's mainly Polaris with North Star's hat, Starlo's habits and a couple colors. On top of the hat, Chujin's freaking out like "oh god where's my wife where are the human SOULs where are we where's my WIFE" and occasionally Starlo pops up there to tell him to calm down, they'll find Ceroba, and all this is happening while North is trying to call the Feisty Four over to him so they have some sense of being okay in this weird fucked-up mindscape
Also Meta starts forming while they're there in Asriel due to the abnormal amount of other-timeline memories messing with everyone. Polaris was paying more attention to their surroundings than everyone else, so he kept catching glimpses of all the memories and saw a lot of Clover killing him
#undertale yellow#starlo uty#did system#dissociative identity disorder#oh boy who wants to make bets on the mail i'll get regarding this#gosh this is a Real Doozy of a post#also fun fact: polaris was inspired by sirius starlo#starsys#that's what i call them

Ahti suddenly talking like a normal person is so much........ like. Tor and Odin aren't "real" gods. they aren't meant to be the literal Norse gods themselves. they are people wearing the ideas, the concepts, at first as stage personas, but close and repeated contact with the paranatural made it a bit more literal, brought them a little closer to the archetypes, blurring story and reality. almost an inverse of Scratch (and possibly filmmaker Zane?) - not literally Alan, but a paranatural entity wearing the idea of him to the point where things blur.
the way Ahti talks, Finnish idioms translated very literally, reminds me of Fra Mauro - somewhat incomprehensible, but the gist is (mostly) apparent if you pay attention. Fra Mauro is a very clear example of this kind of embodiment - an entity wearing a spacesuit and loosely mimicking "our" reality. including strange speech patterns, much like the Board.
when the influence of the Dark Presence around Cauldron Lake is strong enough, Ahti switches to "normal" Finnish and English. I wonder if he was a normal person at one point, someone like Tor and Odin, or Alan, or Jesse, who came into contact with the paranatural and was changed by it, maybe even played physical host to it. with the idea of the Finnish sea god painted on top, an idea thus becoming embodied. he is a kind, friendly presence, like Fra Mauro or Polaris, so it probably wasn't a violent or hostile contact. but maybe it was a transformation all the same, and maybe a bit of who he used to be shows through the cracks of a reality buckling under titanic oceanic pressure.
#alan wake 2#control game#ahti#awake at 4am. why#anyway i keep thinking about the interplay of paranatural and 'physical' reality#they can't help but overlap. and paranatural things seem to need a physical anchor upon breaching#remedy posting#*posts

Where do you think your MCs would be in Zenith. Like Madeleine, Uchiha Twins, Obito's cousin, Polaris and Road to Hell MCs like which clan and techniques would they have
Oh hmm this is a fun ask haha. So, uh, a few other MCs in JJK-verse essentially?
Madeleine would, unfortunately, still grow up with an abusive mother -but in this 'verse one of her siblings gets scouted by a Window, and later ends up rescuing all of them from their hostile home environment. Thank you, Katakuri.
Madeleine does not become a sorcerer! She does, however, end up meeting a friendly, freckled boy during college, and the two of them end up working on a research project together that involves quite a lot of globe-trotting. Katakuri hates the kid.
Uchiha twins... man, that was a really really long time ago. They're probably born to some sorcery clan and end up becoming very codependent.
Stella is probably related to Mei Mei, and helps her with numerous connections to black markets and what not.
#QA#mc stuff#i wouldn't toss any of them into zenith-verse in particular#too much of a mess to deal with haha

Found your Danganronpa OCs and I'M IN LOVE WITH THE ART FOR THEM! Assuming you haven't talked about them yet, can I hear more about Polaris by any chance?
Ah! THANK YOUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!! And yes, I’ll tell you more about Polaris!

Getting it out of the way: Polaris is also the Ultimate Soldier. And yes, she’s part of a mercenary group. I know, I know, Mukuro. But she doesn’t exist in this universe, so it shouldn’t matter, we don’t have to bring it up. Okay? Okay.
She go in involved with the mercenary group young, very young. At first it was just so she would have people that would look out for her as she grew up, as her only biological family then was her uncle who joined the group. Growing up, the group sort of became her family as they traveled and helped any population of people that needed protection. It was through these experiences that she developed an inherent need to help people. But she still has to learn that not everyone can be helped with violence and can have their problems solved with just like….chatting. She’s working on it.
As she got older, she learned more about being on the battlefield and was trained to fight with weapons. With that, and all of the knowledge she learned from observing her group in action, she became a pretty skilled fighter very quickly, moving more towards the frontlines with every new mission.
Also important backstory detail! She was very close to her uncle, and he became like father figure to her. He was the main one that taught her everything she knows and he as kind of like her only tie to her life before the constant fighting and running. So she had a very hard time after he was killed during one of their missions. But she had no time to mourn in the moment because she was in the middle of something important. Maybe that experience will shape how she approaches the killing game idk!!!! Haha!!
While she may come off as very stoic and serious, she is very awkward and nervous to talk to people. She didn’t grow up around a lot of teenagers, especially other teenage girls. That and the hostile environment she’s grown accustomed to has led to her being disconnected from other people her age. She’s also just naturally shy with everyone.
But she wants to make friends! She wants to so bad! It was the main reason she accepted the invite to the academy and was okay with leaving her home and group for a little while. She even tried to research on things that people her age like these days. She’s very determined to make at least one friend!
I wonder how that goal will clash with the instant defense mode that activates in her when she finds herself in the killing game.

#i rly like polaris!!! im haven’t portrayed this side of her yet. but i find her personality to be very endearing#she may look rough and rugged but she just wants to hug someone and do fun teenage stuff like sleepovers and gossiping#but she’s also very ‘must protect and attack’ because of the killing game. which makes it very hard for people to view her as approachable.#she’ll figure out something. she’s smart like that#also. to use blorbo logic: she’s the most like kiyotaka in my eyes#the share some similar qualities#anyways. i miss rambling about them. thanks for the ask!!!#ramblepuff#danganronpa#danganronpa ocs#dr:o

What if an Omnitrix had Markazian DNA?
I wanted to do one more pic for Talwyn Apogee Day before the official day ended so I want to talk about a recent idea I had of what I think a Markazian transformation would be like if it was in not only in the Omnitrix but if the race was in the Ben 10 series. Hey after watching The Ink Tank's Ben 10 themed "And Beyond" series (which I highly recommend) any species can exist in Ben 10.
I could see Ben either getting a sample of Markazian DNA during a Ben 10 X Ratchet & Clank crossover, correction Ratchet & Clank X Ben 10 crossover, when interacting with Talwyn Apogee OR in an alternate universe the Polaris Galaxy coincidently exist in the Ben 10 franchise and during one of Ben's adventures outside of the Milky Way galaxy he ran into one of the species (maybe that universe's version of Talwyn) and thus got a sample for his Omnitrix.
Markazians come from the planet Markazia, a arid hostile planet that an ancient race once tried to colonized but had to leave when it became to hostile, and I wouldn't bland them as it is filed of natural pools of dangerous acid. This fact makes me think that Markazians are immune to acid and other corrosive substances to a degree.
However I think a key power Markazians have is enhanced intelligence, admittedly not on the same level as Grey Matter's or Brainstorm's species but still very intelligent. The species has shown to good in maybe fields like
management and archeology, but it seems like they really specialize in linguistics as canonically the Markazian language has 600 characters! This makes me think that a Markazian form would be good at translating all kinds of languages and codes including computer coding as Talwyn Apogee once had to decrypt such stuff in Tools of Destruction.
I wonder what Ben would call his Markazian transformation. What do you think he would call it?
Happy Talwyn Apogee Day!
Talwyn Apogee is owned by Insomniac Games
Omnitrix is owned by The Ink Tank
Base by Mask-of-Vice

pressure oc info dump!! this oc’s entire existence is for self ship/ oc x canon content so if that’s not ur style then u gotta escape while u still can
(for the sake of convenience while reading, Yonnie is solely referred to with she/her pronouns throughout this post.)
tl;dr - she’s the daughter of an Urbanshade employee who’s trying to unlock the secret ending of Pressure, which you get by making out with a computer really hard (and sebastian maybe).
Yonnie’s dad (Malcolm Polaris) raised her with the sole purpose of having her become a scientist like him in order to work with him at Urbanshade. unfortunately, he ended up committing a bigger sin than any of the ones he had committed during his 10+ years working for Urbanshade: he conceived a theater kid 🤯
Malcolm persists in his goal despite Yonnie’s lack of interest in science. he personally homeschools her throughout her entire life, purposefully keeps her isolated from other people her age, and takes her on as an intern/assistant at the Hadal Blacksite when she’s 23 (so in like. 2022). she isnt allowed near the more hostile monsters, but she still expresses frequent disapproval to her dad about the things she does see (or hears about secondhand). although Yonnie sticks by her complaints, she simultaneously feels like a disappointment for not being interested and doubting her dad.
she’s still working at the Hadal Blacksite by the time Sebastian breaches containment. Yonnie and her dad are able to evacuate, but this event is pretty much the last straw for Yonnie. she’s essentially like “hey. maybe this whole situation is kind of deserved? like maybe this is just one of many consequences that Urbanshade needs to start facing in order to atone for the more. uh. morally grim things we’ve done. and we have a LOT to atone for.”
and Malcolm is like “god you have just been one big waste of time huh. just a consistently ungrateful, consistently disappointing mess. you think we have something to atone for? you wanna make peace with the monsters? then get in a sub, go back down there, and do it yourself — because god knows nobody else is going with you.”
and then Yonnie, fueled by the desire to feel like shes doing something good for someone for once in her life (mixed with regret for problems that she technically didn’t even cause), actually does go back down. nobody is tracking her. everyone fully expects her to die, including her dad. the expendable protocol engages as normal.
Yonnie wanders around for a bit before encountering Painter. he’s the only sentient, non-hostile, responsive entity that she’s come across so far, so she offers him an escape. she says she could bring him back up to the surface and let him go free. Painter tells her about the promise he made with Sebastian and says that if he leaves with her, Sebastian has to be allowed to come too. Yonnie is like “they will gun Sebastian down the millisecond he breaks the water’s surface so. probably not. but i just want yall to be free, so i guess i can help you with your plan!”
she meets up with Sebastian, who doesn’t kill her on sight despite the fact that she’s an Urbanshade employee because they’ve actually met before! plot twist 🤯 they spoke briefly after she had become an employee, and Yonnie’s sense of basic fucking human decency and empathy really left a mark on Sebastian (although he’s still kind of cautious around her) 🥹🫶🏽 truly riveting. Sebastian agrees to let Yonnie help him out. since Yonnie isnt a prisoner, she isnt required to follow a navi-path and therefore wont be penalized (e.g. executed) for going off course, so she has access to areas that expendables dont. with this advantage, Yonnie is able to gather up more data for Sebastian than an expendable would. she also collects supplies for him to sell in his shop. time goes on, everybody bonds, yap yap yap.
Yonnie and Painter’s ship tag is #❥browse her history !!
Yonnie and Sebastian’s ship tag is #❥stars as bait !!
one of these. is probably gonna have far more content than the other. at least until i get used to drawing Sebastian.

KHOC Week 2023 Day 1: Introductions
I decided to participate in @khoc-week this year! My second time doing it, so I'm excited!
I thought I would focus on my character Yui, who I talked about a few years back. She's a mostly cool and composed and sarcastic big sister who sometimes lets her anger get the best of her. Beneath her stoic facade, she feels things strongly and is a bit of a lonely, broken mess on the inside.
Yui comes from a story I’ve started and restarted multiple times at this point, which primarily follows her younger sister Hikaru after their home world is destroyed by Heartless during KH1. Yui is sort of the deuteragonist of the story; where Hikaru learns how to carve out her own role in life, Yui’s journey is about claiming her own identity after spending her whole life haunted by her mother’s (more or less literal) shadow.
The whole Stonewall family has a very special place in my heart, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have a soft spot for Yui in particular. I never did get far enough into the actual written story to dig into Yui’s side, but hopefully one day I’ll be able to get there! For now, I’ll just share some ideas that I had for her later.
Name: Yui Stonewall
Age: 20 in KH3
Appearance: Short and uneven red hair, often dyed dark brown; bottle-green eyes; tawny skin; 5’7” (170cm)
Home World: Polaris
Personality: Distant, sullen, grumpy, protective, sentimental
Yui is a very reserved person. Around strangers, she is usually polite and distant, if a little curt; around her family, she can be grumpy and irritable. Years of having her actions scrutinized and being the target of her mother’s frustration has led her to close up emotionally and keep other people at arm’s length.
As the eldest child of the family, Yui takes it upon herself to watch over her younger siblings. As much as they frustrate her at times, and despite often berating them for their poor decisions, she believes it’s her responsibility to keep them safe and will go through hell to do so. As distant as she can seem, she is fiercely protective of the few people she has in life that she cares about.
At heart, she is a sentimental person who fears losing the things she cares about, which in turn drives her to keep her distance to avoid pain. But deep down, she desperately wants to connect with people and forge a life worth living.
A Very Brief Background:
Yui was born in the distant snowy world of Polaris as the eldest child in her family and had a tumultuous upbringing. Her family was frequently on the move, and the pressure of being skilled swordsmen was pushed on them all at one point or another in part due to their dad’s legacy in a world where sword-fighting was the biggest sport. For Yui specifically, it meant rejecting the path in spite of her talent because it wasn’t what she desired to do, and because the nightmares of a past that did not belong to her frightened her away from wielding a blade.
Her relationship with her mother had been poor and outright hostile at times, and though she cared deep down for her younger siblings, she often felt envious of them. The potent darkness she housed within her was only exacerbated as the years ate away at her.
Over time she became trapped in a cycle of resentment and guilt, which came to a head when the Heartless overran her world and unraveled her very existence—body and heart. While her sister Hikaru would journey to find their scattered family, Yui was left to stew in all the negative feelings that had plagued her for her entire life. Eventually she—or at least part of her—ended up in the realm of darkness, where she met a lost Keyblade master… and from there, things began to change.
Fun Facts and Miscellaneous Notes:
Yui dyes her hair to look less like her mother. The two have a poor relationship, and Yui naturally looks like the spitting image of her—a fact she dislikes greatly.
Yui has an extremely potent darkness that she inherited from her mother (or perhaps it's better said that darkness escaped through her). Her darkness is her main source of power, but also the source of a lot of heartache.
She is a pescatarian.
She eventually works at Le Grande Bistro in Twilight Town.
Yui is a passionate violin player, though she is self-taught and rough around the edges.
Yui is bi with a stronger preference towards women.

do you want to hear a bit about my au as i'm working on the long fic? hit read more! long post.
do have no clue what this au is?
it's a kaden lives au! it starts off in the middle of rift apart, in kedaro station. ratchet, wearing the robot disguise armor, falls into the lombax dimension and gets mistaken as a robot.
after a few shenanigans that is the not yet done first chapter, ratchet is joined by the interdimensional division in trying to fix the dimensional cataclysm and, of course, find clank again.
below are the au ref sheets & backstories for the interdimensional division! since ive been having fun with the timeline and a lot of details probably won't come up
starting off: Kaden!
this version of kaden just barely survived his fight with tachyon. he may have survived by being thrown into blizon so hard it shattered and brought him to the lombax dimension, but it wasn't an easy fight before that. he lost his left ear and lower arm to an explosion.
during the genocide, kaden had thought his family made it out, and he was not the one to hide ratchet on veldin. in the thirty years since, he lost himself to depression and grief for a long while. but eventually he started to find a new normal after the loss of his family.
kaden is currently the "keeper of keepers", the title for the head of the keepers which is one the divisions in d&d au. he is also a member of the interdimensional division, and formerly part of the praetorian guard. he and mags met when he was assigned to keep mage safe in other dimensions, which eventually evolved to him being made the keeper of the dimensionator.
next up: mags!
first id just like to say i did draw this before id designed his prosthetic finger. if you want to see that in more detail there's a drawing a ways back!
now, mags is everything he is in canon and a lot more. he grew up during the great war and in his 20s acted as a translator for any and all alliances the lombaxes had. he was a linguist, and spoke nearly every language native to polaris. when the war ended and the interdimensional division began, he joined and proved very useful in exploring other dimensions with his knowledge of language. he helped to establish the research colony on savali, and was eventually selected for the first solo cross dimensional exploration mission.
it was meant to last five years, where he'd be hopping through some dimensions and spending more time in them to learn. the people he encountered in the first dimension were hostile and he ended up on a rainforest planet in a second dimension with a non-functional dimensionator. it took him nearly ten years to fix it with the limited resources there, but he came back as soon as he could.
when he came back it had been not ten years, but seven and a half centuries. it took him a while to accept that everything had changed and everyone he knew was long gone, but now he's doing fairly well.
mags is the head of the interdimensional division! while the division is mostly gone now, it was actually the biggest that made it to the lombax dimension. without the ability to travel dimensions anymore, nearly all of them spread out into other divisions.
now, the two ocs. the interns. they both have plot relevant reasons to be in the fic as much as they are, im just not going to spoil those :3
firstly, niven! not a new face to this blog haha

niven is a bit of a prodigy in robotics. there isn't a specific robotics division, though, so they ended up studying interdimensional research at the academy. and while they have graduated already, they aren't quite old enough to be a full member of the division, so they're just an intern.
they were born in the lombax dimension after the city had mostly been built again. the population is still small, and niven ended up skipping a lot of grades. they found themselves lonely, and built a friend, M-01. they're almost never apart now.
aaaand, M-01! also known as Millie or Mellon

she's a robot that niven built to be their friend. she's a bit sassy, and enjoys tinkering with random things. where niven enjoys robotics, millie enjoys making practical upgrades to things.
first and foremost, mellon is a companion. but she also likes racing. she wasn't programmed with a calculator and loves to rag on niv for it.
yeah! there's the interdimensional division of denial & disguises. the first chapter is about halfway done, and these guys first appear there! mags and kaden got oneshots already, though i do need to edit a few timeline things in the first one.

Control
You know, weird shit happens in this world sometimes. Who you gonna call? Not the Ghostbusters, but instead, you should call the Federal Bureau of Control.
Enter stage left: Our protagonist, Jesse Faden.
Whilst searching for her long-lost brother, Jesse finds her way to the headquarters of the FBC with the help of Polaris, the weird blue triangles that sometimes circle around her head that talk to her. Yes, that is a sentence that makes perfect sense.
Finding the place mysteriously bereft of personnel, she finds her way to the main offices, where she hears a gunshot. Like any reasonable person would do, she doesn't immediately leave but instead goes in search of the source of that gunshot.
In the office of the head honcho of the FBC she learns that the gunshot was the result of said head honcho blowing his own brains out.
As any reasonable person would, Jesse elects not to leave in search of aid and maybe call the police and tell them about the dead body, but instead picks up the gun.
This is where our story truly begins, because the gun is no mere gun at all, but some sort of interdimensional laser gun thing that can transform. Its purpose is to designate who the head honcho of the FBC is. Meaning that Jesse is now the head honcho.
What is the FBC, exactly? Well, it's a government agency that finds, contains and studies "Altered Items", otherwise mundane objects that have come into contact with energies beyond the ken of mortal man and developed strange powers. If you've ever seen Warehouse 13, it's basically that. Or if you seen that SCP thing, it's that too.
Anyway, things go downhill from there as it turns out Jesse arrived in the middle of a hostile interdimensional invasion by a sound based lifeform called the Hiss that's already killed about 90% of the FBC's on-site personnel and turned them into pseudo-zombies.
Now it's up to Jesse to fight the bad guys, don't afraid of anything and save her brother, with the help of resident brainiac Emily Pope, Ahti the janitor (who may or may not be a Finnish god) and the mysterious board of directors, who contact Jesse from another dimension (presumably a different dimension from the Hiss) and who appear to be a giant inverted black pyramid hanging suspended in an endless white void.
Don't ask.
Anyway, it's a very interesting game and you should give it a gander.
Also it's connected to the Alan Wake games in some way or another.
It is currently my assumption that Alan retroactively created Jesse, or maybe just instigated her tragic past with the slide projector Altered Item, in order to shape her into the kind of person who kicks enough ass to rescue him from the Dark Place, but the nature of Alan Wake's story makes it kinda hard to know for sure. I've only just started in on Alan Wake 2, so maybe there will be some tidbits of information here and there to fill me in.

If you could visit any location from Lovecraft's fictional settings, which would you choose and what would you hope to discover there?
Man hard question, for this I'm going to assume you are just mentioning the Lovecraft books themselves, so I won't factor in series like The King in Yellow, or any other Lovecraft-inspired work not that they would make that much of a difference in the first place.
There are 2 main issues when tackling this question, the first and most prevalent issue is that many locations in the Lovecraftian mythos [that I have read, as I have only finished 32 of his works], just straight up present danger to your life. Dagon, The Shadow over Innsmouth, The Festival, and The Unnamable, are a small list of examples of settings in which hostile creatures or creatures fit to harm you or turn you into something beyond your present self. Although it may be then easy to claim to avoid all the locations that may present some direct threat over the sanctity of your life when you start to question and factor in your sanity, you start to realise just how miserable a lot of his works are to live in. As the events depicted in Pickman's Model, The Music of Erich Zann and Polaris would most definitely make the most ordinary person go insane. So in the case of trying to persevere in your life, continuity of self in a biological sense, and your sanity, most options but not all are completely restricted to you.
The second biggest issue you would face is that outside the realm of cosmic threats, there isn't any reason to go to many of the locations. Lovecraft loves to create stories which not only have the main character be confronted and challenged by unknown horror, but then be pushed into the ordinary world in which no one understands or believes them, making even the reader question whether the events happened or not. So if you decided to simply for example not go to Innsmouth or one of the other cursed locations, you are pretty much gonna live an ordinary life with some ordinary if not slightly more racist individuals as your neighbours, there isn't any remarkable way you would be able to make your life interesting unless you were either to:
•A. Get a hobby, or
•B. Be absorbed by the unknown and occultism and try your damn hardest to reason with being whose intentions are as mysterious as their existence.
So overall there aren't any "beneficial" aspects, like gaining superpowers or becoming cool, if you travel to any of these locations as your average person. I mean the concept of unlocking the pineal gland exists but I have no understanding of how that works.
However, if I had to choose one place to live, out of all his stories it would probably be, Celephaïs. I mean who would want to be king of their dream and become some immortal celestial warrior? I mean there is the consequence of having to disregard reality become an active narcoleptic, and potentially die on the street, however, I'm sure the eternal pros out way the mortal cons. If I weren't the main character of Celephaïs, I would probably choose "The Other Gods", but unlike Barzai the Wise, I would be cool with it and try and befriend the early gods and vibe with The Other Gods that is if they didn't kill me instantly. Maybe I could potentially go to Cats of Ulthar, and try and learn magic somehow, that would be fun, maybe at some point try and find the Necronomicon. The choice would mainly be those, however, to conclude.
Lovecraft's worlds at first seem impossible, unpractically power-scaled, and overall cruel, which they are, there is still a reason that humans exist to that day, mainly due to human ingenuity and determination, so, so long as you don't hit yourself on the foot on purpose you should be fine.
Although at some point all good things do come like humanity, such as referenced in Memories, so perhaps, the worlds are as impossible as they seem.

Just A Quick Mission
[Polaris "Ursa Minor" Harmonics & Aarre "Switchblade" Kärkkäinen]
Summary: Ursa Minor's first duet mission, but she's being paired with one of Nighthaven's wildcard agents.
A/N: ANOTHER FRIEND'S OC OH MY GOOOOOODDD I dragged @corvidcrows to my R6S brainrot hole
Polaris had a habit of prioritizing other people rather than herself. Kali said it’s a bad habit, but she didn’t have any plan to change it. It was the only thing that marked her parents’ influence on the remnants of this family. She treated her quirk as a family heirloom or some sort.
So when she got hired by Nighthaven to go on a single mission with one of their agents named Switch for the first time, let’s just say that she almost lost her mind.
It was normal at first. A quick sweep through a small abandoned building, weapons in hand. She tried her best not to breathe out loud; her gas mask would hiss loud enough to be detected by hostiles. Switch’s steps were quiet, yet his movements were trained like soldiers would.
So far, no hostiles…
“I’m bored.” The first actual voice came from the taller man as he turned his head towards her direction, mischief gleamed in his baby blue eyes. “Let’s blow up this building.”
“It’s not in our order, Switch.” She responded back.
“Aww, you’re no fun, Ursa.” He looked back to the front. “Are all EMTs like you? Not having fun as part of the training?”
Polaris sighed, her gloved hand fixing her mask’s position. “ It’s not like that—”
“Do you ever have fun, Ursa? All I see in you is all training and more training.”
She sped up her steps and purposefully bump her shoulder against his arm. “What do you think I am? Robot?”
“If you ask me, then yes.” Switch glanced at her; half of his face was covered in a mask, making it harder for her to read his emotion. “You move according to orders from the man upstairs, and it makes you boring. I don’t even think an impulsive thought of just destroying a wall ever passing through your head.”
“What’s that supposed to mean—”
Bullets suddenly flew near her and almost nicked her ear, and Polaris could feel her hand getting yanked by the taller agent to hide behind the nearest pillar. Her breath hitched. She could smell the burnt smell of metal and gunpowder.
Rapid fire from the distance. Must’ve been near the stairs.
She took a deep breath, gripped her firearms tightly, and squeezed her eyes shut. No matter how much she did this job, she felt like she couldn’t get used to the chaos of the battlefield.
“Finally, I was getting bored.” Polaris’ eyes widened, and she quickly tilted her head up to see Switch’s face. She swore she could hear a wide grin in his voice.
He casually trotted out of the pillar, his marksman rifle in hand.
“Watch and learn, medic.”
She watched as the other calmly aimed at his target while bullets went past him. And with several bangs from the agent’s rifle, the rain of bullets stopped completely, and the building went quiet once again.
It was quick—less than thirty seconds.
Lives were lost in under a minute.
[“Sometimes, to protect a life, you need to take another.”]
Right. No time to think about morality in this situation. They were in danger, and it’s technically a self-defence act.
“Ursa! C’mere!” The sound of the other agent snapped her from her deep thoughts. Switch had already left his previous position and was now examining the hostiles’ bodies. His bloody footsteps stained the grey floor, and his loud, cheery voice filled the concrete halls.
Polaris walked towards the taller other, her hands on her hips. “What’re you doing now?”
“No more hostiles in this building. All their radio devices are inactive.” The agent fumbled through a former hostile’s walkie-talkie and his mobile computer. “I think I can safely say that we finished our mission here. Although I’m kinda disappointed that they’re all untrained goons who can’t even aim properly.”
A sigh of relief escaped from her lips, producing a loud hiss from her mask.
She didn’t need to shoot someone for now.
“Phew, finally…” It was like the feeling of cold water washing down her back in a good way. Her muscles loosened up, and tension left the SAR member. No unnecessary injuries nor casualties from their side.
Switch stood back up again, now turning back his head towards the shorter agent, a grin plastered on his face, his mask pulled down. “Then, can I blow up this place?”
Blinks. “You still want to?? How would you do that???”
“I have my way.”
Polaris felt like she would gain forbidden knowledge that she shouldn’t know if she asked him further, especially seeing his grin grow wider and the glimmers of excitement in his eyes behind the glasses.
In the end, it was just a quick mission, after all.
