Trans representation in Housebroken is kinda weird. 

Like we only know that Chico is trans because we know he is a tom cat and one time he gave birth. 

And the other characters are confused by him giving having kittens, but they never question Chico’s maleness, just the birthing part. 

The show gives no indication that there is any reason he could have kittens beyond the obvious, and this show come out in 2021, the writers had to have at least a general idea of what a trans man is, so they had to know what they were doing, at least a little.

All in all, I think the show has okay trans rep. I don’t expect the next season to have better or worse trans rep, I think it will most likely just keep at an okay level. We will have to wait and see.

20th Television Animation’s Bless the Harts Canceled at FOX

Bless the Harts will not be back for a third season.

Fox has canceled the animated comedy from creator Emily Spivey. The series, a co-production between Disney's 20th Television and Fox Entertainment, will wrap its second and final season in May on the independent broadcast network.

The adult animated comedy featuring a voice cast that includes Kristen Wiig, Maya Rudolph, Jillian Bell, Ike Barinholtz and Kumail Nanjiani, has been a lackluster performer in its second season as part of Fox's Sunday night block. Its most recent original episode drew 56,000 total same-day viewers, a series low.

The cancellation comes as animated comedies typically take longer to produce, with creatives needing to know sooner in order to make a fall schedule. Fox, meanwhile, continues to build up its animated slate with an eye on full ownership of its programming. In addition to Disney-owned The Simpsons, Family Guy and Bob's Burgers, Fox has The Great North (a co-production with 20th), Housebroken (fully owned internally) and the recently picked up Dan Harmon series launching in 2022.

Fox's animation push comes after the broadcast network purchased animation studio Bento Box, best known for Bob's Burgers, in a bid to own its animated offerings. In success, animated comedies can become cash cows for networks and their owners with lucrative merchandising lines. Bob's, Duncanville, The Great North, Family Guy and The Simpsons have all been renewed for the 2021-22 broadcast season.

We have a special pair of hounds to share with you this week: Slim and Mac. Their former owner surrendered them to the animal shelter in Duncan, Oklahoma, saying that, at about 8 or 9 years old, they were too old to hunt. When they arrived, Slim was seriously underweight and both had a significant positive titer for the tick borne disease Ehrlichia Canis.

Slim is a big, fuzzy, blonde Staghound who loves playing with toys. He craves affection and gives the sweetest butterfly kisses. His big green eyes make him even more striking. Slim is a bit of a fussy eater but has filled out nicely in foster care. He is a low-energy dog who moves slowly and loves his naps. He is great on the leash and, while he rides very well in the car, he needs a little help getting his back legs up and in. Slim is fully housebroken and has excellent house manners. He rarely barks but will bark to ask to go out and come back in.

Although he comes off as a little aloof at first, Mac is a calm, sweet, and loving boy with a beautiful brindle coat. He isn't much of a barker but can be vocal to make his opinion known. Mac is a well-behaved dog who loves rides in the car and walks great on the leash. Mac loves his meals and is easily motivated with food. He has learned that living in a house with soft beds, regular meals, and people who lavish affection on him is to his liking! Mac recently discovered the pure joy of tossing toys in the air and catching them. Mac is just a very good boy who loves affection and attention.

Slim and Mac are feeling much better thanks to the loving care of their foster home and will soon start their search for a forever home. They are a closely bonded pair who will do best if adopted together. They look for each other and don't like being separated for long. Both seem to do well with small dogs. Mac and Slim are on daily maintenance medications to support their kidney functions. Mac is also on a special kidney support diet. Hulu New Releases: June 2021

Hulu’s list of new releases for June 2021 is highlighted by a host of useful library titles and one fascinating original film.

The original film in question is the one that lends its delightful photo of Pierce Brosnan delivering a baby to this post. False Positive stars and was written by Ilana Glazer (Broad City). It sounds like a really fun, creepy time with a synopsis that reads: “After months of trying and failing to get pregnant, Lucy (Glazer) and Adrian (Justin Theroux) finally find their dream fertility doctor in the illustrious Dr. Hindle (Pierce Brosnan). But after becoming pregnant with a healthy baby girl, Lucy begins to notice something sinister through Hindle’s gleaming charm, and she sets out to uncover the unsettling truth about him, and her own “birth story.” Cool!

Hulu’s other original offerings aren’t too inspiring this month. Only Love, Victor season 2 on June 11 moves the needle much. If you count “FX on Hulu” as Hulu then June 17 sees the arrival of Dave season 2. Dave was one of TV’s best surprises last year and it’s nice to have it back.

After those two, it’s just a bunch of library titles. Thankfully, those library titles are fairly intriguing. Arachnophobia, The Dark Knight, Kick-Ass, and Slumdog Millionaire all premiere on June 1. Willy’s Wonderland, featuring Nic Cage’s battle against animatronic puppets, arrives on June 13.

Q. How to set boundaries with neighbor? My roommate and I have been having more backyard fires as a safer way to see friends during the pandemic. Our one neighbor “K” is in her 50s and keeps inviting herself over when we are having a fire. She usually dominates the conversation, complaining about her kids or work, and she won’t take the hint to leave when we are ready to pack it in. We’ve tolerated it up until now because she doesn’t seem to have any friends of her own and the pandemic has been difficult for everyone.

However, last night she crossed a line. A friend “B” was over for a socially distanced backyard fire, and B agreed to pee in a discreet corner of the yard by the shed because she wasn’t in our house bubble. Later, K walked up to our back door and peed where a welcome mat would normally be, in full view. We were shocked and didn’t say anything to her at the time, but her bathroom is literally next door. She was already making us feel uncomfortable, but this act was the final straw. How do we tell her that we don’t want her inviting herself over and peeing on our doorstep anymore?

Dear Doormat,

Seems you’ve been letting yourself get pissed on all over, huh?

The pandemic... fucking sucks... but it also doesn’t mean you have to tolerate people who likely had no social skills before all this went down.  Your neighbor’s actions indicate a severe lack of hometraining, and what’s worse, she’s clearly not housebroken. 

As a woman, I’m kinda flummoxed at how it went down.  I mean, my first thought was, did she pee on her pants, did she use one of those funnels that people take camping?  Generally the juggling alone keeps a lot of women from peeing outside a proper bathroom.  (Not that women shouldn’t be able to, it’s just more of a chore.)

The most non-confrontational way would be to leave a note on her doorstep explaining that her actions were gross and would appreciate it if she kept herself and her fluids in her yard.  Pissing in someone else’s yard without asking is a declaration of war in some parts of the world I’m sure, but she’s acting like someone’s weird cat.

It’s unlikely she’ll accept the letter, so make sure you have a copy, and then when she shows up next, make sure a friend is filming while you calmly explain to her that her behavior is not okay and tell her to leave, your parties are private from now on.

This way, evidence for cops.  Someone who pisses on doorsteps is probably going to turn into a Karen when you tell her to fuck off.  Be prepared.  Tell your friends to not respond to her, only you.  Everyone just needs to not talk and just stare at her like she’s the biggest idiot in the world for being there.

It’s passive-disgust, make her uncomfortable by proxy.
