While rereading mdzs I am once again shocked by how talked about the "you were the only mistake he ever made" line from Lan Xichen to Wei Wuxian is and how heated it gets some people because honestly... I don't think he actually even believes that.
Stay with me. Look at the actual line. (I Included 2 translations for comparison's sake)
Firstly, yes he is mad at Wei Wuxian in this scene. But his biggest moment of anger was actually before this. By this point he's realized that Wei Wuxian forgot what happened after nightless city (and therefore ISN'T stringing along his baby brother on purpose) so he has in fact calmed down a bit.
Secondly, notice that he starts by talking about how his uncle felt. This is not Lan Xichen making a value statement about what he thinks. When he says Lan Wangji was proper and righteous he is talking about him being a model lan, he's talking about their family and clan's perspective of Wangji. Indeed, in their eyes, Wei Wuxian is the only time Lan Wangji was ever not the textbook perfect Lan.
Thirdly, what is Lan Xichen trying to say here? What is he mad at Wei Wuxian for? It's that he doesn't know Lan Wangji is in love with him. His anger is eased by realizing Wei Wuxian doesn't remember the very blatant confessions lwj made in the cave after nightless city, or Lan Wangji fighting his own clan elders for Wei Wuxian, and so had no way of knowing the whipmarks on Lan Wangji's back were related to him. But he is still mad, he still thinks Wei Wuxian should have been able to figure it out. So what does he highlight?
The fact that the only thing Lan Wangji, perfect model-Lan righteous Lan Wangji, ever defies his clan for is Wei Wuxian.
And Wei Wuxian has seen him do this! Even if he doesn't remember this one instance. Because Lan Wangji has been doing that the whole story through. Wei Wuxian has watched Lan Wangji blatantly stand against the entire cultivation world for him, and here Lan Xichen is highlighting just how unusual that is, how much Wei Wuxian must mean to Lan Wangji that he's willing to do that. The important part of the sentence here is not "mistake" it's "only."
Lan Xichen here isn't trying to say that he disapproves of Wei Wuxian, or telling him to stay away from his brother. Remember, the thing that made him mad in the first place was Wei Wuxian saying that he and Lan Wangji slept in seperate rooms. He thought they were together! He's mad because they're not!
At no point does Lan Xichen say he individually considers Lan Wangji's feelings for Wei Wuxian a mistake. If he ever did, it's clear he accepted them regardless long ago. Mistake or not, what he wants is for his little brother to be happy.

Y’all are aware that Omega was gone for six months and their priority was her, right? Or before that when Wrecker nearly started crying, Hunter had to give the news to Omega, and Omega pleaded for them to go back because she thought they could still find him?
What about before Barton IV? When they were all gathered around the table and his name was mentioned and everyone fell silent and hung their heads? Even Crosshair?
If the creators didn’t want to keep his memory alive, they would’ve never mentioned his name again. They wouldn’t have kept his goggles in the show. They wouldn’t have shown very Tech qualities in Omega’s personality.
Instead, he’s seen in their decisions. He was felt in every scene when the Marauder was flown. He’s felt in every scene that involves tech, to any degree (because I know everyone has had a ‘tech could solve this’ moment while watching)
The characters don’t have to cry, hit a wall, and shout to the heavens in some big scene to show their grief. We’ve seen it already, and I think it suffices.
These characters are cloned soldiers who were created for war—nothing else. I think that’s forgotten quite often. Their mindset is different than your regular Joe. How they approach situations is different. How they grieve is going to be different.
They lost Tech, and almost immediately lost Omega. Their priority was finding any leads that could pinpoint them to Tantiss/Omega. Taking jobs, spending resources, and losing sleep until she was brought home. We have no idea what those six months held. We have no idea what Hunter and Wrecker went through without them there. Tech could’ve found her easily, and they know that. His goggles were sat on the shelf, and they probably felt his presence every single day
Omega wanted to preserve his goggles in that room on Pabu for a reason. He is still a part of their team. He’s still a part of their hearts and someone that the people of Pabu knew and appreciated. His character hasn’t been neglected, and the team hasn’t forgotten about him.
Sometimes you need to read between the lines 🗣️🗣️🗣️

anyone who says "only people who have really educated themselves on this conflict should talk about it" should not by their own admission talk about palestine because at this point anyone who calls this a "conflict" is uneducated to a fault.
that said I strongly disagree - it certainly HELPS to be educated on palestine to talk about it. it makes it a lot easier to understand a lot of the moving parts if you have a foundation of some of the history. but no actually I think I've said it before and I'll say it again, you do not need to read up on something to watch three months of mass murder and understand it for what it is - a genocide. you do not need to have read pappé and rashidi and said and schlaim and chomsky and all the rest to understand that palestine is occupied, that israel is occupying palestine, and that this is wrong.
anyone telling ANYONE not to speak on this issue at this moment is asking essentially for your silence during a genocide. whether or not they realize it, they are doing the work of the israeli government that so many people who say this shit claim to despise.
now I highly recommend you do actually become educated on palestine because you will be able to better advocate for palestinian liberation if you understand it more deeply. you won't be as likely to fall into traps like "from the river to the sea is calling for a genocide of jews" or the very premise that this is some sort of war or conflict or "hamas is isis" etc.
you'll also probably be able to apply your knowledge to other peoples' fights for liberation. to other genocides and occupations. because all of our struggles are connected.
someone who calls this a conflict has not done the reading required to understand that.
