This morning I saw my breath
As I opened the back door for the dogs,
And on the way to the doctor
I saw snow
Late in the season
But a sign I would be okay
Because I have been let go,
No longer burdening the weight of another,
No longer under foot,
Being controlled -
Being told who I am allowed to be,
Who I can become
Free and unexpected as May snow

18 and 30?
18 - if you keep them, share a deleted sentence or paragraph from a published fic
Oooh I largely don’t—I JUST got finished taking the editorial axe to the latest chapter of the WIP du jour—but I remembered I still have an outtake from The River Runs Forever, a scene I wrote well in advance of the ending, and then used none of, because I wrote in a different direction:
“Lan Zhan and Wen Qing can keep each other company,” Wei Wuxian said, in a terrible approximation of lighthearted cheer, and indeed, if Lan Wangji wanted company, he knew where the infirmary was; that was where Wen Qing was mostly likely to go. “We’re having brother time.”
Brother time. They’d often slept together this way, when they were children, sharing a room, both of them tending towards bad dreams and restless, interrupted sleep. It had been a surprise, an unpleasant shock, even, when his parents had announced, at ages twelve and thirteen, that Wei Wuxian was big enough for his own room, now. They’d traded off sneaking into one another’s rooms after bad dreams for months, after that, before they finally adjusted to the change. Then they’d shared a room again for months, at the Cloud Recesses, just a couple of years later, which Jiang Cheng had appreciated, as it helped stave off any pangs of homesickness, at the longest stretch of time he’d ever spent outside Lotus Pier in one go. And then again at the indoctrination in Qishan, where it was even more welcome (oh, he’d been so selfishly grateful, that Wei Wuxian had insisted on coming with him there, even though he didn’t have to). If he were to add up all the nights in his life, Jiang Cheng thought he must have spent more of them sleeping in the same room as Wei Wuxian as not; the sound of his breathing was the most natural lullaby in the world. He wondered if Wei Wuxian felt the same way, even now.
30 - share a fic you’re especially proud of
Man, I always waffle over these because I have so few to pick from, and I always pick the same favorites. (Because they’re better!) But uhhhh, the word that would best describe this feeling / would be haunted is the first fic I ever wrote for The Untamed, and while I’ve undergone whole shifts in perspective and reevaluated stuff since then, I still love it because it was a pretty raw reaction to the way CQL made me feel, and it got me properly writing again after a bit of a hiatus, after I petered out on the batfandom. Also? it’s good.

hi! i was wondering if u could make give a little synopsis of scott kellerman and any little fun facts about him? i really love his character even though he’s not a significant piece and id love to know even more about him! also, paper men is the greatest fanfiction ive ever read :))
Oh, wow, this one is unexpected, but in a really good way! 😊
I don’t have a ton written down for Scott Kellerman’s profile, but I’ll do my best.
*clears throat*
— Scott Kellerman AKA “Skelly”
Despite having the whole California boy/skater vibe, Scott Kellerman has never actually lived in California. He’s from Wisconsin, originally, and he moved to Derry in the sixth grade.
The youngest of three brothers (the oldest, Jack, is currently serving in the military, while the other brother, Trevor, is a freshman at UMaine), Scott has never had a hard time fitting in with kids his age. A friendly person by nature, he’s very good at dealing with diverse (and even difficult) personalities. Because of this, Scott tends to get along with almost everyone, regardless of whatever clique they belong to. He’s also well-known for dealing pot around school, which he gets from his older brother, Trevor. Scott does smoke a bit himself, but contrary to popular belief, he’s not a total burnout and is rarely ever stoned at school. That’s just his personality.
— Fun Facts
Scott was largely inspired by Travis Birkenstock from the movie Clueless.
His dad's a carpenter and his mother does astrology readings out of her kitchen.
His hobbies include skateboarding, ice hockey, drawing, baking, and coming up with new nicknames for his friends.
He collects novelty T-shirts.
He currently has the longest Bowers Gang avoidance streak among the sophomore boys.
He had a brief run-in with Henry in the 6th grade, but he’s remained untouched ever since.
Victor Criss is one of his regular customers as well as his good friend.
Scott, Vic, and Christie Gibson hang out a lot outside of school. They like to smoke and listen to music together. Sometimes, on rare occasions, Reggie is there as well, but he's not too big on smoking.
He had a potbellied pig named J-Bird, who unfortunately passed away due to kidney failure. This was referenced in Ch. 28.
He’s attracted to intelligent girls and has a little crush on his classmate Jeanette Gough.
_______
That’s all I got. Hopefully it’s okay?

Obsessed with how you can immediately tell which celebrities have posted israeli propaganda just by their comments. If they’ve shut their comments off, they posted bs. If they haven’t, then you’ll see the abundance of people calling them stupid.
Not looking to celebrities to be smart honestly it’s a dumb collective, but it’s wonderfully refreshing to see so many people shame them for their stupidity and call out propaganda.

My dearest Davnitt,
Now that TWILE is finished, I was wondering if you would tell us more about what inspired you to write and share it? What did you learn about yourself through the process? What do you hope your readers take away from it?
I totally understand if the answers to any of these questions are too personal to post here, but if they aren’t, I would love to hear them ❤️
My darling Katie,
Trust you to ask me such lovely insightful questions. I think you know me well enough by now to know this will not be a short answer, so I also commend your bravery for opening this particularly large can of worms.
I’ll actually start by nixing the first question - I’ve written a separate post that answers it, I’ll probably post it this weekend on Saturday, as a wrap up to TWILE.
Writing TWILE taught me a LOT about myself. I learned I have a love/hate relationship with deadlines on a creative process. I learned that I know way too much about Star Wars and that the space in my cognitive memory bank could probably be put to better use but I, regrettably, have no say in what my silly little brain does. I learned that I use far too many hyphens and run-on sentences.
I learned that putting a piece of your soul out there for others to judge is terrifying and exhilarating and exhausting and so, so rewarding.
I learned that I use writing as an escape from the world, a way to turn off everything else and immerse myself in my own head - I wrote the first draft of TWILE during an especially stressful period of my life and I realize now how much I relied on slipping into the world of those characters to relieve the stress of my day to day. It was my therapy, in a way, getting to write about characters overcoming their trauma and finding solace.
Which I think is what I ultimately want readers to take away from it. I wanted to write a story about someone learning to recognize their trauma, to face it head on and to learn to live with it. Not someone magically cured of their pain, but someone who has to work through it constantly and still manages to find happiness.
I wanted readers to see that, because especially for those of us who do struggle with anxiety, depression, cognitive dissonance and distortion, etc, it can feel like an impossible task, being happy with these types of thoughts. Even harder because at some point we realize they’ll never truly go away, and much like an addiction, will be something we fight the urge to fall into every single day.
I wrote about Tionas pulling her internalized trauma out into the open, breaking it apart into manageable pieces, and finally getting what her trauma never let her have - love, a family, a home. Because I want that for me, and for everyone.
And you didn’t ask, but I want to say this - what I took away from writing TWILE is a better understanding of myself as a person and as a writer, as well as a lovely collection of incredible human beings who I met through comments and DMs (including reuniting with you 🥰) and who I keep in my pocket like my most valuable treasures.

In the witchcraft community we talk about witch's ladders a lot but y'all are seriously sleeping on the potential paper chains have. Yes the ones you made in Kindergarten.
For example, I just did a protection spell for myself and my community by making a paper chain from recycled local newspaper and some light sigilwork on each loop. You could do all sorts of workings with paper chains by changing the material, using color correspondences, sigils, etc.
