tho i will say its actually kind of incredible how atla is used as the bastion of western animation. the pinnacle. nothing lives up to it. how? its not perfect. it reuses tropes (in a good way!!!). watch an anime. etc. how is it the pinnacle of western animation? but at the same time, i cant actually list a better western cartoon when it comes to long form narrative storytelling. which baffles me because atla could literally be better. "zuko is the pinnacle of redemption arcs" i have literal critiques about it. its just like i swear there can be other shows like it. or similar. or on par. or better even because it was written by two white men in 2005. but i cannot list one.

Q: How do you balance the tensions between being yourself and being needed by the masses?

A: Well firstly I don't think I'm needed by the masses, that's a bit much of a pedestal LOL. But at my concerts I'll often tell everyone that first of all you've got to properly love yourself, and you've got to properly be yourself – you're the only one who knows how to be who you are. I think this is the one biggest takeaways I've had from the nearly 11 years since my debut, because without the support and energy from them… forget about being myself, I wouldn't even be able to really look at myself. Perhaps I would just be spending each day going between the things I have to do, maybe going from one class to another, or if I was working then between one completed job to another. And it's really difficult, finding that balance of being yourself. Because to be yourself in this world, that's just the hardest thing. Quite often there just isn't a way to be yourself.

As an introvert, I might even especially suggest for fellow introverts to interact with the outside world just a little more within situations you're comfortable in, because it's really not easy at all, being an introvert. And nowadays more people are willing to bring up the fact that they feel more and more like they're living an NPC life, like they're just side characters in someone else's plotline. But the way I see it is that everyone starts out as a side character and finds themselves from there. So you've got to first be somoeone else's side character, and while that's going on you must start writing your own plotline – you've got to find your own script, you can't always keep being that side character. Back then there were a lot of factors at play for me, but that's just how it is; it's a slow process, and I can't give you an answer because I'm also still searching for it myself.

If you love A GOOFY MOVIE, please please give yourself the gift of watching NOT JUST A GOOF. It just came out for the 30th anniversary (today April 7th, 2025) and it is a very fun documentary, filled with incredible behind the scenes footage. Plus so much heart.

The last segment of it had me in overwhelming tears, feeling the connection of all my fellow fans, that this movie found its audience like the film makers wanted all those years ago. In another world, we might've never had AGM; in another world, we might've had a bigger audience embracing it from the get to; but we're so lucky to live in the world where we *do* have it.

Just saw the part where that unamed Ultramarines dreadnought (please tell me this guy has a name) hits the heldrake with a Big Rock and Gadriel is rightfully awed by that display.

And I'm reminded of little brothers by endless tavern (a love letter to ogryns basically).

Now I have this idea of an ogryn on the battlefield seeing a dreadnought and having a 'he just like me fr!' moment. Once the fighting has died down he goes over and is basically like 'you done good. We big ones gotta protect the little ones' all sincere, the guardsmen of the regiment he's assigned to, still high on adrenaline, trying their hardest not to burst out laughing.
