something. about. the horror of being sent on an impossible (death) quest and obligations and hospitality politics. the trauma of not having a home, and then the trauma of being in a house that becomes actively hostile to you, one that would swallow you whole and spit out your bones if you step out of line. all of this is conditional, your existence continues to be something men want gone.
it's about going back as far as I can with the perseus narrative because there's always a version of a myth that exists behind the one that survives. the missing pieces are clearly defined, but the oldest recorded version of it isn't there! and there's probably something older before that!! but it's doomed to forever be an unfilled space, clearly defined by an outline of something that was there and continues to be there in it's absence.
and love. it's also about love. even when you had nothing, you had love.
on the opposite side of the spectrum, this is Not About Ovid Or Roman-Renaissance Reception, Depictions And Discourses On The Perseus Narrative.
edit: to add to the above, while it's not about Ovid, because I'm specifically trying to peel things back to the oldest version of this story, Ovid is fine. alterations on the Perseus myth that give more attention Medusa predate Ovid by several centuries. this comic is also not about those, either! there are many versions of this story from the ancient world. there is not one singular True or Better version, they're all saying something.

Pac finding the reports around the disappearance of worker WB011 and the signed yet not sealed report saying Bad is innocent, slooooowly replacing it with guilty. Changing it back, but not leaving the page, not leaving the book. Deliberating with a huge, huge amount of power he now holds in his hands against the man who’s been nothing but off putting at best, dangerous and an attempted kidnapper at worst. Who has been entirely suspicious and hostile.
He swaps innocent out for suspect, and leaves everything where he found it. Of course he did, not only does he find actual reasons Bad is super suspicious, but it’s the decision that gave him some options, some sort of agency in this whole back and forth they’ve got going on.
For once, Pac has control, he has the final choice. He could fuck over Bad’s entire plan with those few changes. The power is finally in his hands.

fit and tubbo would both rather die than discuss their feelings with one another. That being said I think they should try anyway

Idk some malinois owners are so obsessed with their dogs it almost seems like a cult. They go on about the hours they put in and the drive their dogs have and it feels like they’re seeking purpose for themselves rather than what’s actually beneficial for their dogs? If Mals are so high maintenance how could ordinary people own them?
If a malinois is owned by a regular person the cult-like folk will go on and on about how those people must not have intense dogs or that their (the cult-like people's) dogs are soooo much more crazy and work worthy than the people with them as active companions lol.
Really the way they talk about these dogs is no different than the people that worship corporate work grind. Like the type of language is the same and everything.

I like to think that synth Shaun spending the first ten or so years of his life in the Institute didn't fuck with him too bad. Like, he's not xenophobic or anything, he's just a bit... weird.
You're sitting at the dinner table in Sanctuary and he says he wants to tell a joke and he says: "What's funnier than a dead baby? A dead baby in a clown costume!". Everyone's horrified and X6 needs to leave the table because he's laughing so hard

US politicians are so annoying, this is literally how they handle every conversation about vulnerable people dying or the environmental crisis
Conservatives: actually this was a liberal plot by anti-Christians to turn infants trans and put microchips in your toenails. Thoughts and prayers for the future of America. Also we want to kill everyone who isn’t a cisgendered heterosexual fundamentalist Christian because we’ve turned the country into a theocracy.
Liberals: wow those conservatives are super stinky and we don’t agree with them at all, but don’t worry! We made cute bumper stickers with witty liberal one-liners and we're all going to sing a song about America being good to spread love and hope! God bless!
