You really should start posting fics on AO3! It’s a pain in the butt and time consuming at first , but I can walk you through the essentials in a “How to AO3 for dummies” course so to speak.

Not to sound old, but-

I have been doing Sailormoon fanart for A Long Time™️ (and to save my sanity here- I’m speaking in internet years)

I’m a Chibimoon fan, and it has never been a popular hill to die on. People hate her, and I don’t care. I get Rini yelled in my face, and I. Do. Not. Care.

But back when I did- I had a 100% wholesome chibimoon dedicated webpage that I html coded myself (in friggen notes) and uploaded to a free FORTUNECITY site. There I displayed a wide variety of chibimoon fanart, mostly mine, but also gathered from other artists I had been desperately hoarding. All of it had been dug for over time (Netscaaaape), then the artists sought out to ask for permission to post, collected into a gallery where I made clickable thumbnails, and finally uploaded it through an ftp-

Dude- There was work involved y’all. This was pre-Pinterest, pre-Instagram, pre anything that posted photos for.

And the webpage was terrible, I can admit that, it’s fine. There was flashy fake glitter stuff, I had a guestbook and counter. Bad art made into page links, irrelevant song and poetry quotes. (But I did not have a midi play!) Most of what I was drawing back then was a weird mishmash of tracing the anime and learning anatomy, so it ain’t great, but everyone starts somewhere.

Still-

There was a lot of it. A LOT. And there still is! I’ve never stopped making it. I still draw sailor moon art all the damn time. It’s my therapy when I’m art blocked, it’s my doodles. I still upload stuff to random places (depending on what lets me) to this day.

I’ve been doing this for 20 years.

My art names have changed, but not drastically, and while thankfully improving, the art style itself isn’t all that different. I’ve been told I’m easy to spot. So yknow what I don’t get??

It’s nowhere. The art isn’t floating around online, I can’t find any of it.

I should be so embarrassed by it. It should be an absolute pain, running facefirst into that awful shit- and with so much regret. I taught myself enough html to do the absolutely ridiculous coordinates of an image map (omg the numbers) but- but it’s not anywhere!

When I haven’t looked at my old crap in awhile, sure, I’m relieved at this fact. Cause yikes (and I still have it stored, it’s good to know how dare I’ve come).

But after days of cruising through 3 hours of really, really awful sailor moon art (yes I do this), I’m kinda, mildly insulted because I should be one of those. I should be standing accounted amongst those who are shamed!

I recognize so many of the old artists that I once knew, and most of them have been plagiarized to death on overseas websites because they aren’t really around anymore. If anyone else was around at that time and into Sailor Moon, I had a very pink and very goofy ‘Child of the Crystal World’ website. It was all I knew about my Pink fucking Princess on about thirty separate page clicks.

So- best guess is- either someone is following behind me and cleaning up my online fingerprint- or (most likely) Im feeling ignored and entitled from years worth of effort and it’s gurgling back up like a clogged, invalidating garbage disposal of paint and crayons.

I use https://www.stuffbydavid.com/textcolorizer and https://www.browserling.com/tools/text-replace to do it! You can access html in your tumblr posts by clicking on settings when you're making the post and changing rich text to HTML. It's a pain in the ass to do lol and I have all of the html for the characters' banners (their little ombre name that you see in headcanons posts and such) saved to a google doc to save me the hassle lol

OK so it's super complicated and there isn't really one way to do it. i'm not even especially good at using computers LOL. it's a lot of trial and error. but in more or less words, i manually go through the html of websites from before 2004 and find photo files. it takes forever and i often can't see the photos until i download them- then a lot of them aren't even worth the effort LOL.

i can spend a few hours looking through one website if it was active, had lot's of content and didn't use flash. a lot of image links are dead though, no matter if you put them through wayback machine or archive.is etc.

another problem: it's a pain to find new, old websites. i have to look through affiliates and cringey forum posts.

omg that reminds me one time i was looking through DSP's website (which took me FOREVER to track down for some reason) and i found straight up porn hidden in the image files amongst pictures of sechskies

anyway! basically i use archive sites and then manually spend hours looking for gif, jpg, png files. i hope that sort of answers your question 🥴

via Barb's Place I finally have a version of the first scene of POM Ch. 14 that I don't hate! I mean, it's still a rough draft, but for the first time, I feel like it's a scene that goes somewhere and accomplishes something, rather than just being "And then Buffy said this and Xander said that and Dawn said this other thing." Now if I can just get the rest of the scenes to do the same thing! So last Friday I noticed that my left knee was sore. I am no stranger to sore knees; I have had a number of falls that resulted in soft tissue damage. This felt different. On Saturday, it got worse. By the time I went to bed, it was so painful that it hurt just to lie on that side, and I could hardly bend it. Sunday the outside of my knee and upper calf was tender and swollen, I could barely walk, and under the swelling I could feel a definite painful lump on the outer side of the upper calf, just below the knee joint, that wasn't there on the other side. Monday I called my doctor, and of course as soon as I did that, it started to get better. By the time I got in to the doctor's on Tuesday, it was much, much better. Today it's still a little sore, but I can walk and bend it with no problem, and the swelling is gone. My doctor had me go in for an xray, which turned up nothing other than that I have mild arthritis (which, given that both my parents had very bad arthritis by the time they were my age, is surprising only in that it is mild). She had originally suspected that I had a Baker's cyst which had burst, but apparently the x-ray didn't show anything like that. (Though if it burst, would it show?) Anyway, she's having me schedule an ultrasound to make sure there were no vascular issues, and suggested a knee specialist if things didn't improve. Since they have improved, I'm dithering on that (assuming the ultrasound shows no vascular issues.) The acute swelling and tenderness are gone, but I can still feel that lump, and the knee and my upper calf have some funny twinges to them that Don't Seem Right. Guess I'll wait on the ultrasound and see. comments

Describing Ms Amati as “a woman of very good character … of considerable intelligence not an axe murderer”, Mr Waterstreet said Ms Amati had severe depression and had been suicidal.

He said she had “excruciating” physical and psychiatric pain from a gender reassignment operation she’d travelled to Thailand with her family to have, and had “resorted to taking cannabis”.

He said before her gender reassignment, Ms Amity had been known as Karl Amati, had worked as a unionist for seven years, and was “brilliant” intellectually.

But after becoming a woman, she had increased her cannabis use and took both antidepressants and female hormones.

However, he said Ms Amati was “dead set against any amphetamines” and had “unwittingly” taken some on the night of the attack which adversely affected her.

On the night, three types of “feminising hormones”, cannabis, MDA and alcohol was “a toxic mixture on a fragile mind” which had resulted in “a gory, gory scene”.

Mr Waterstreet said he would call psychiatrists who would testify Ms Amati had been in “a toxic delirium” and a “drug-induced psychosis”.

He said she had tried to take her life twice since the surgery and had believed on the night a potential girlfriend thought she was “too ugly”. 

Earlier, the court heard Ms Amati had posted disturbing messages on Facebook less than an hour before she swung the 2kg axe at the heads of two 7-Eleven customers.

It was claimed she changed her Facebook status to read, “humans are only able to destroy or hate so that is what I shall do”, and at 1.13am on January 7, also sent a Facebook message to a woman she thought had rejected her saying “one day I am going to kill a lot of people”.

She allegedly also wrote a Facebook message saying “some people deserve to die. I hate people” and “I know where you live haha”.

Within 67 minutes of writing that message, Ms Amati had armed herself with the axe and an 18cm long knife and entered Enmore 7-Eleven and launched the attacks, it was alleged in the NSW District Court on Monday.

[The Crown Prosecutor] said that in March 2016 Ms Amati had been “fantasising about ending her life in a blaze of violence” and “wanted to twist people’s necks on the bus”.

He told the court Ms Amati had bought the axe in early December 2016 and sent a message on Facebook Messenger to woman she had a romantic interest in saying: “OMG I just destroyed an old couch with a new axe. It was incredibly satisfying. It gives me ideas haha.”

When that woman updated her Facebook relationship status to say she was now with a man, Ms Amati unfriended her.

[The Crown Prosecutor] said that Ms Amati’s defence of an underlying mental illness would be disputed by Crown witnesses.
