This started out as a Drac playing with Ericka's snake hair (and vice versa) and ended up a rather adorable bit about "well after setting up all that anxiety Ericka had in becoming a monster, how did she feel later?" Not to mention Drac's feelings and him and the other guys changing so she and later Mavis (Who was a late addition and...wouldn't be as nervous anyway) wouldn't have to go through the change alone.
I was also inspired by @but-thats-its-own-love-story 's gorgon hairplay prompt.

Do you think he slipped back into his old ways when he lost her again? Do you think he screamed at paintings of himself, demanding to know how he could have been so selfish that once he realized he'd fallen for her, he hasn't sent her away and instead let her lay with him? Did he ask himself how could he ever have loved her if he let her forsake her chance at paradise for him?
How did Dracula handle losing Lisa all over again?

A human finding a Stingmon that is trying to care for several tiny Wormons that are its kids
A human finding a Stingmon caring for its Wormmon children
It was meant to be just a fun little solo hike. Up a short distance and then back down. Safe enough to not need anyone with them. But, of course they stumbled across a rather defensive and aggressive Digimon. Of course they did. And a Stingmon at that.
It threw threats at the human, warning it to stay away, before outright deciding the human knowing where it was… was a danger in of itself. The human tries to reason with the Stingmon, only to spy behind it… quite the little swarm of Wormmons, all hiding but clearly curious and peeking out to see what the fuss was about. They question Stingmon about the Wormmon, and judging by the sudden change in posture, ready to strike, this was its reasoning for the territorial behavior.
The human assures it has no intention to harm Stingmon or the Wormmon but asks why it would be someplace so many people may wander to?
The Stingmon hesitates and responds. It’s a fighter, not a parent, and having so many Wormmon to care for suddenly was hard! It stayed where it was because scaring food off of passersby was the best way it could ensure all its children were fed AND protected. It’s clearly worried about leaving it’s children alone.
The human offers it help. Someplace safer to nest with its Wormmon, so it doesn’t have to attack travelers for food and can leave without worry if it’s children being attacked.
Not that it cures the Stingmon’s worries, of course. It asks for assistance; babysit the Wormmon to ensure the area is indeed safe.
The human accepts. Better than it’s previous situation, for sure, but man… this would be quite the trip to make for babysitting jobs.

The Drac Pack is out of whack! REVAMPED
I had a feeling that my first set of redesigns for these guys' human forms in HT4 from way back in January 2022 were long overdue for a redo, especially since I've come a long way with my digital art skills since then.
Also, even though it's August, it's NEVER too late or early for some Halloween themed art IMO.

small castlevania: curse of darkness headcanon i've been meaning to share:
i 100% believe hector and isaac collaborated on their innocent devil designs, which accounts for the variety you see in-game (and why they both have the same IDs in their arsenal, game logic aside)
but individually, they both have a very different approach to ID designs
isaac is from an accomplished family of sorcerors, steeped in knowledge of the dark arts since he was born. so it makes sense his IDs end up looking way more demonic and hellish, terrifying creatures that in no way resemble anything made by God. and y'know, it really just suits his whole edgy aesthetic lmao. but as a point of reference, his designs really lean into reptilian, draconic, or insectoid forms for all those angular shapes and otherworldly qualities. there's nothing soft or nice about them (but def have that "face only a father could love" vibe going on)
hector, on the other hand, has a fondness for animals, especially creatures of the night, and so his IDs are made in their image. but since so many of his animal companions as a child were chased away or outright killed for the crime of providing companionship, his IDs are made bigger, stronger, and more terrifying so no one would ever dare harm them, or him, again. leans towards the more mammalian side of things - recognizable as animals albeit very fucked up since he likes to mix and match characteristics

Mina's incredible (and underrated) detective prowess would be very useful I bet. Put her on the helm Integra, Van Helsing praised her brains as being above everyone's including himself for a reason.
I honestly can't guess what the chemistry between Integra and Mina would be. Integra doesn't really click with me as a classically heroic character, for all that she does focus on saving humanity from the undead via Alucard and her forces, being the Boss Lady etc etc. She's miles away from being as insidious as an Amanda Waller, but...
The hotel. The fucking hotel will never leave me.
Yes, the order went directly against 'soldiers of the enemy,' but those soldiers had been lied to about who and what they were charging into. Which was obvious even without being a fly on the wall to know their higher-ups had fed them some BS to march them into death and win their own power grab from Millennium. She didn't tell Alucard to 'make it quick' or even just to 'neutralize.' She told him to search and destroy. Folding to Alucard's egging and negging to seem like a Worthy War Commander in the grand scheme~ of the plot
She's not heartless, exactly, but she is arctic and surprisingly quick to breeze past the loss of lives that aren't under her direct care/command. While she might respect Mina's abilities and investigative skills--I wouldn't be surprised if Mina could intuit Millennium's endgame well before the climax could happen--Integra inherited none of her ancestor's warm regard, supposing Abraham van Hel(l)sing had any of the original's tenderness in him (50/50 considering this takes place in aggro horror territory). We can't even say if this universe's Mina played any big role in cornering Dracula; she might just have been a targeted damsel.
All that said, I think Integra would see Mina as another time-displaced bleeding heart with a few useful skills, same as Jonathan. Someone to be an ally at best, a liability at worst. So I don't see her handing over any reins or offering to be co-girlbosses any time soon :c
#Integra is a good character#but not my favorite#Hirano let her look cool a lot and stand imposingly and smoke cigars#she got to shoot a few bad guys including the Major himself!#but the lion's share of development and interesting actions were all Alucard's and occasionally Seras'#I think the story kind of fumbled a lot of her potential to be more than Boss Lady who has cooler/more powerful people do stuff AROUND her#rather than let her really do anything herself without somebody else being the driving muscle/energy#Mina by contrast is ACTIVE#even working within the constraints of being a young woman in the Victorian era#she is hauling ass and making connections and paving the road to victory against Dracula himself#all while having a massively open heart that takes in so many people#like the rest of the original Drac Attack Pack it isn't just the loss of Lucy that drives them#she and Jonathan and Van Helsing and the Suitors all lock down on Thwarting Dracula#because if they just sit back and do nothing then He Wins and Humanity Loses--they became the OG Vampire Hunter Gang out of necessity#and goodwill#whereas Integra kind of just inherits Hellsing and its mission with the same vibe as someone inheriting Dad's job#maybe if we'd gotten scenes where it shows how she's handling the toll of running things; the sacrifices made in blood and its effects#I'd see more chemistry in potentia between her and someone as dynamic as Mina#but as it stands#I think Mina would just be another new accessory#anyway#integra hellsing#mina harker#dracula#hellsing

Two things I've noticed about the Count in the last two entries I didn't realise before-
He would not move across the threshold of his own house to touch Jonathan until after John had said that he would enter willingly. This is a reversal - or continuation - of the 'vampire can't enter your house unless you let them' trope. Who knows what would have happened if John had tried to enter without saying anything.
His insistence on learning unaccented English and its customs, that he might blend in seamlessly. So he couldn't be picked out of a crowd. So he wouldn't stand out. So a shadowy encounter might not be traced back to him.

There are a few possible reasons why Dracula doesn't have any servants. He can't get anyone to work for him cause they know he's a vampire, he just eats them all eventually, OR, a way more sinister reasoning, Dracula really wants Jonathan to be completely reliant on him and him alone.

Was in a protective mood night before last. The first is kind of an image I've had for a while somewhat inspired by Drac stopping Ericka from going into the cave and offering to go first, albiet it kinda morphed into looking more like him defending her in HT3. I just liked the idea of even though he's now the less powerful of the two him still being protective. And of course while I was drawing that the second image came to mind. Any excuse to draw Ericka being the fiercely protective badass she is, I will gladly take.
Also somewhat inspired by a pic of @bees-self-ships Cook/SI ship where Hook defends her SI.
May try one with Johnavis too some point.
Bonus from @lovelylivelyv: Man I love both of these! I headcanon the first is him defending her from people who disapprove of the gorgon look/think she’s ugly that way. And ofc protective/angry Ericka is always great.

Another thing to point out is that it's very likely that Lisa is Elisabetha's reincarnation.
I mean we know through Soma that that's possible, and not only do the 2 women look almost identical, have seemingly very similar personalities but also have almost the same name but look at the inspiration behind Mathias' story:
His story was certainly based on Dracula's from the 90s Coppola movie, in that version Vlad Tepes goes mad when his wife dies and decides to become a vampire to spite God. When he meets Mina Harker he realises that she's his late wife's reincarnation (and she is, it's confirmed in the movie itself) and falls in love with her. The main difference is that the Dracula in the movie tries to turn her into a vampire and manipulate her into being his forever while in Castlevania he seemed to genuinely love Lisa
And really, Dracula must've realised that it was more than a simple resemblence, if Brauner can recognise two random girls as his daughters' reincarnations and Alucard could seemingly track down Soma before AoS, then surely Dracula could've realised that he had just met his wife reborn
And at that point if she's technically the same woman that he used to love (though not completely, given that Soma surely isn't 100% like Dracula, only showing more Mathias-like traits when he saw Mina "die"), if she has a very similar personality as before and is willingly in love with you...then is it really replacing her?
I mean it's not like with Julia and Hector where we know for a fact that the former is a totally different woman
As an aside I feel like the best way to imagine what kind of person Mathias must've been before LoI is to just look at Soma
I don't have much to add lol. I haven't watched the Dracula movie but I knew that the Elisabetha plot point was inspired by it (also that has zero to do with the book but whatever).
I don't really know what to make of this reincarnation theme - yes, Soma is Dracula's reincarnation, but that's a special case. Why would Elisabetha reincarnate? Is Brauner actually right in seeing Eric's daughters as the reincarnations of his own, or is he just delusional?
As for the last part, I'm not sure how I'd describe Soma's personality other than slightly rude to people he doesn't know and bashful around Mina :P

No matter if it's your thing or not, Jonathan and Dracula have great enemies-to-lovers potential.
They got along great before Dracula turned up the evilness, and they got to know each other better than any of the other characters got to know dracula.
There's always something intimate about having unique knowledge about another person, and these two have that. The way Jonathan smiled underlined this. You can almost hear him think: "you underestimated my enemy".
The thing is, you can't call someone your enemy without calling them yours in a way. You can't say others underestimated them without saying you think highly of your enemy's cleverness. You can't say anything about them without betraying how familiar you've become with the way they think.
If you put on your enemies-to-lovers cap, you see Jonathan smile and you notice a shadow of fondness in there, perhaps even pride, that this so clever enemy is his, and his alone.
