Tears of the Kingdom Duplication Glitches:
⚠️⚠️PATCHED AS OF VERSION 1.1.2 ⚠️⚠️
Duplicating Materials (Extremely Easy)
1. Jump off a ledge and paraglide.
2. Pause the game, in the Materials screen, select the items you want to duplicate and 'hold' them (they do not all have to be the same thing).
3. Press 'Y' and 'B' at the same time. You should see the items drop on the ground, but notice your item count did not deplete.
This works on almost everything in the materials tab, creatures will attempt to escape, you'll have to chase them. Bugs will just fly away, and eggs will break, there might be other weird interactions with items I haven't seen yet. NOTE: YOU CAN ONLY HAVE 20 DROPPED ITEMS ON THE GROUND AT ONE TIME BEFORE ITEMS START DESPAWNING.
I recommend doing this on Diamonds (highest selling material) and whatever your highest fuse attack power items are (Silver Lynel Saber Horn being the highest attack) Large Zonaite (and regular too but that's really tedious) is another good option to expand your energy cells. Any Hearty or Stamina increasing item item works too for cooking meals and expanding hearts/stamina in a pinch.
Duplicating Weapons (Including Bows and Sheilds)
1. Equip the desired weapon/bow/sheild.
2. Return to gameplay (basically you want to see Link equip the item ingame).
3. Pause and save your game (yes this is necessary).
4. Drop the equipped item from the menu.
5. Equip any other weapon/bow/sheild (if you want to duplicate a weapon, equip any other weapon, bow for bow, sheild for sheild)
6. Press '+' followed by '+' VERY QUICKLY. You should not be able to see the first item drop when you go back to the menu.
7. Drop the second item you equipped
8. Load the save from step 3. You should see the item you wanted to duplicate on the ground, while still having it in your inventory.
This works on every item you can drop. To speed up the process, you can fuse 2 items together and break them apart without destroying the fused material for 20 rupees in Tarrey Town. I recommend doing this to the Hylian Sheild.
⚠️ Use these at your own risk. I did not come up with these, but they're being passed around online, I just wanted to write them out here. I have gotten them both to work multiple times, the weapon one IS harder to do, remember to save, it is a necessary step, if you mess up start from the beginning.
Don't give me shit for ChEaTiNg I'm VERY liberal with the block button. Good Luck!!

Oh Raven (Sing Me a Happy Song)
< Chapter 4 | Chapter 6 >
Chapter 5:
The group followed Raven until they reached a wall. Their guide quickly scrambled up it, waiting to offer a hand at the top. Wind went first, followed by Four, Legend, Warriors, Sky, Hyrule, and then Twilight. Time came last, and once he was on the other side of the wall Raven hopped down himself.
He showed them a side door, which he explained was for deliveries to the kitchen, and then they were inside the palace.
It seemed that all the guards and staff had been evacuated or were stationed to outside to help with crowd control. The halls were dead silent, so they just followed the sound of arguing voices, and when they looked around a corner eyes widened, and someone gasped.
The entire foyer had been destroyed, and people in uniforms were putting out any remaining fires. Glass shards covered the plush red carpets, and there were multiple people being treated for injuries. In the centre of the wreckage sat a giant mechanical machine, wiring hanging out of its side.
Raven ducked back around the corner, muttering to himself.
“Hey Raven? What the hell was that?”
Raven swallowed thickly. “That was a guardian. It’s a piece of ancient machinery that was discovered not long ago. Scientists and Engineers are trying to reprogram them for the Hylian army. That one must have gone wrong.”
“You look like you recognised it.” Time observed.
“Remember how I said I used to work in Upper Hyrule? I worked here, in the palace.” Raven looked away. “I- a rouge one did this. To my face.” He pointed to his scars.
A scream interrupted any response the group might have given. A steady beeping sound filled the air, and people began running past, paying no attention to the chain.
There was a creak of metal, and suddenly they were looking at the massive creature. A single glowing eye focussed on them. The beeping increased. Raven looked around at them, and then his eyes shot to a red dot on Winds chest.
“Run!” He shouted, before tackling Wind to the ground, a laser missing the both of them by a hair. The chain didn’t need to be told twice. They ran.
“Don’t run straight!” Came Ravens’s shout. “Zig zag!”
The lumbering hunk of metal followed them, the constant beeping ringing out and occasional blasts throwing chunks of the walls into their paths.
Time, who had been running behind the rest of his boys, briefly registered that Raven was no longer with them. He had turned back to face the guardian, feet planted and shield held high.
“Raven!” Time said, turning back.
The guardian fired.
But Raven didn’t flinch, only swung his sheild and the blast ricocheted off the shield and straight back at the guardian.
The giant creature worried, then collapsed, still.
Time ran over. “Are you ok?” He asked. Raven nodded, too winded to use words. The others were quick to join them.
“You know what?” Twilight said. “You're definitely a Link. Just the right amount of crazy and people call you brave.”
Raven laughed as he stood. “Let’s get out of here. I don’t want the guards to find us.” As the group went to walk away though, he stopped, frowning.
“Raven?” Hyrule asked. “Your not injured, are you?”
The boy shook his head. “I was just thinking. I don’t think a single guardian caused that massive explosion. We could see it all the way from the roost. It must have been something else.”
The Links exchanged looks of concern, but Raven shook it off and began to walk. They all followed, sharing theories of what it could have been.
“I don’t know much about technology.” Sky offered. “But maybe one exploded and caused a chain reaction?”
“Or maybe they were hijacked by monsters!” Wind suggested.
Raven hummed to let the two know he was listening, but the boy was still deep in thought, hood pulled over his head.
He was quickly jolted out of it when a group of well-dressed people started screaming and running away from the castle gates. Another guardian, not the one they had encountered inside the palace, was running through the streets, carried by its mechanical legs.
“Somethings not right.” Raven said.
“What do you want us to do?” Warriors asked, readying his weapon.
“Run. Before it finds us.”
“What about those people?” Four questioned. “We can’t leave them.”
“We can’t fight that!” Raven hissed.
“You did back there!”
“That was when there was one.”
Looking back towards the castle, four other guardians had joined the first one.
Raven started to move, but Time caught his arm. “What are their weaknesses?”
“You can’t seriously want to fight-”
“What.” Time demanded. “Are their weaknesses.”
Raven glared at him. “The only weakness is the eye, which in case you haven’t noticed, shoots deadly lasers! You won’t be able to target anything else, and they move quickly.
“We’ll partner up.” Warriors strategized. “One can distract and the other attacks.”
Raven looked at them all in turn, baffled, then he sighed. “I’ll take the last one then.”
Time nodded at them all. Then they ran out into the open to face down the monstrous machines.

The Great Hero. Link, hero of the Wild.
My fic masterlist
Main navigation center
Yiga slashed, their blades cutting through the air like it was nothing more then paper. Guards yelled, some fought against the horde of ninjas, despertely protecting their princess.
Zelda watched in horror at the sight of the solidrrs fighting. A gentle hand came to her shoulder, shoving her back as a yiga suddenly appeared in front of her. She glanced up, seeing Link drawing his sword and slashing at the yiga.
Zelda gasped as the yiga cut across the hero, leaving blood staining through his clothes. He slashed the yiga down, and the yiga disappeared in a puff of smoke. Leaving behind a handful of rupees and bananas in their wake. Link bent down, offering his hand to her and Zelda took it.
Zelda offered to help support Link, but he refused. She stared at the castle as the yiga swarmed it, as she and Link ran.
Collasping, she stared at the ground in front of her, glancing up, she stared at Link sorrowfully. She could feel sobs forming in her throat. They were painful and raw.
“Do not worry.” Link said, his voice confident as he clasped his hands between hers. “Why?”
***
“Because I am here.” Link whispered quietly. Holding Zelda tightly in his grasp.
Wisps of malice floated through the air and faded. The bow of light felt heavy in the hero’s hands. His sword and hylian sheild clung to his back. He heard his horse huff, her white coat shimmering in the rising sun.
Zelda breathed in quietly, and together they stood up. Both, together again. They rose, and held each other tightly.
After all, its been 100 years.

last night i got omega high and imagined a 4th legend of zelda cdi game called "The Wizards of Evil" that was a side scrolling shoot em up starring gwonam on his flying carpet and also link was there to reflect certain attacks with the hylian sheild. it was a surprisingly well done game marred by the clunky controls of the cdi but still had the goofy cutscenes that really killed the mood of the more intense game

So I decided to say screw it and beat Calamity Ganon in BotW...
I got stuck in the area where you obtain the Hylian Sheild... my puzzle senses were tingling and I had to deal with it. I'm surprised that stalnox had his ankles after I hit those so many times. I didn't even do the shoot it in the eye thing because I just destroyed those ankles.
Something to know about me is I have awful timing in this game. I've only successfully done a flurry rush 3 times and they all were let loose on Calamity Ganon's face. Still haven't parried a guardian laser...
I almost died to Calamity Ganon, entirely because I suck. I swore I'd beat him so hard he'd have to resurrect his human form again. Given that Tears of the Kingdom is about here, I'm not entirely wrong about that.

TotK Intermediate/Advanced tips/things not to miss (spoilers ahead)
⚠️⚠️ DUPLICATION GLITCHES PATCHED AS OF VERSION 1.1.2 ⚠️⚠️
Zonai Devices + Hylian Sheild = OP
You can put Zonai Devices on the Hylian Sheild and they won't break. If you duplicated the Hylian Sheild (and have the sheild slots), you can have a cart for mobility (basically an unbreakable skateboard), a flame/ice/shock/beam emitter, or a cannon for pesky caves. The ice emitter is OP for stunlocking every enemy that isn't a Lynel or Boss, and a cannon is good too for armored enemies, and as long as you hold still while aiming, it fires straight (this is true for all devices fused onto sheilds).
Most Efficient Zonai Machine
Getting to different sections of the Water, Fire, and the section leading up to the Wind temple can all be pretty much skipped using an airbike. It seems to be the most efficient use of Zonai devices while providing the best mobility. It's also amazing for exploring The Depths, just throw a Giant Brightbloom seed on it and you're set (be careful as throwing a seed on it activates the device). Also if you don't have much battery, consuming a Large Zonai Charge will fill your battery and give you a brief period of unlimited energy use. They are rare however (but again, easy to dupe).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(I recommend a YouTube video for instructions on how to build it, it can be REALLY finicky if not done correctly)
Expensive Taste
Once you finish the Gerudo section you can unlock the full Accessories shop. (You might have to do the side quest, I'm not sure) but you can buy the diamond circlet. It's better than it was in botw as it now has Attack Up, and when fully upgraded has 28 defense. It will cost you 18 diamonds and 3 star fragments and some flint to fully upgrade, but is definitely worth it.
Pimping out the Purah Pad
Complete Josha's quests which involve exploring The Depths to unlock the Autobuild ability at Hyrule Central Mine, but then go see Robbie to unlock the Shrine Sensor, Heroes Path and Travel Medallion. To unlock the Travel Medallion you'll need to enter Robbie's old Tech Lab in Akkala (use the chasm and ascend into it), and this is also part of the Yiga quest chain. The Travel Medallion is definitely worth it for going back to hard to reach areas, or putting it in useful spots (I have one right next to the item break-down place in Tarrey Town).
Yiga Clan Questline Rewards
If you've gotten the Travel Medallion for Robbie from the Akkala Tech Lab, you've already done 1 of 3 hideouts for getting the Yiga suit. The other two are in the Old Man's cabin on the Great Plateau, and just west of the Great Hyrule Forest in a cave in Aldor foothills. The suit's stats aren't the greatest, but Yiga clan members won't ambush you while wearing it (and they'll all have unique dialogue), you can enter the Yiga Clan hideout and participate in a challenge to unlock their paraglider design, their earthquake technique, and a replica functional Thunder Helm making you immune to lightning.
Gleeok Horns Pack a Punch
If you've managed to take down a Gleeok, the horn they drop does a MASSIVE aoe if you attach them to an arrow. They're also the highest elemental fuse component at 30 Damage. They are rare, but are also easy to duplicate.
⚠️ I've purposely left out a bunch of details on how exactly to accomplish some of these, but feel free to message if you need further instructions, also google is free ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My Kingdom for a Shield
In which I project my experiences onto Skyward Sword Link; by which I mean I suffered so I make him suffer.
BTW, i realize that description is misleading. This is not angst. Mostly comedic. I hope you enjoy!
All he wanted was the shield.
Ever since he first heard the rumor about an indestructible shield, Link knew he had to have it. No more repairs, no more potions, no more having his shield break mid-fight and leaving him defenseless. He’d never have to buy another shield again. It sounded like a miracle, too good to be true.
So when the Thunder Dragon had issued his first challenge, Link threw himself into it head-first.
He’d forgotten what they said about things that are too good to be true.
The first time he took on the challenge, he’d been defeated on the eighth boss, Moldarach. It was like rubbing salt in the wound—not only had he failed (and his defeat had been long, painful, and drawn out for that matter), but the shield had been right there.
Still, he was exhausted, so Link listened to Fi’s advice and retreated.
Once he was out of Lanayru’s sight, he’d laid down on the ground and screamed.
Still, he wanted that shield. So he’d rested and prepared, and took on the Trial with renewed determination.
This time, he’d died on the 7th boss—to Moldarach. Again.
Cue more screaming.
Fi made some pointed comments about his mental state, so once more, Link had taken a break. He rested. He prepared.
What’s more, he planned.
This time, when he went down and took the trial, he had the heart medallion in his pouch. He downed a souped-up Guardian potion.
And most of all, when Lanayru asked him which enemy he’d take on first, he picked Moldarach.
Soon after, Moldarach exploded into a cloud of purple mist, and Link was ready to take on the rest of the Trial with his pride avenged and hope in his heart.
One by one, he tore through the bosses. Some were more difficult, leaving him bruised and bleeding and exhausted, but the Goddesses seemed to be smiling upon him, for the 7th boss was Scaldera, and at the top of Scaldera’s ramp grew a whole cluster of heart-flowers.
With seven wins to his name and all his hurts wiped way, Link knew in his heart that this was it. Third times the charm, after all.
And he did. He beat Koloktos. He beat the third stage of the Imprisoned.
HE’D DONE IT.
As the Imprisoned vanished in a burst of brilliant light, Link felt triumph sweep through him in a glorious wave. It’d taken a long time, and he’d paid in blood, sweat and tears, but it was all worth it because the shield would be his!
“Well done!” Lanayru rumbled. “You’ve defeated all nine bosses. Here is your prize!”
Link sucked in a giddy breath as the dragon clapped his hands.
“2,000 rupees!”
WHAT
The Chosen Hero stared blankly at the dragon, waiting for all his prizes to appear. Especially the shield.
He waited a few moments. He spun in a circle, examining the ground around him. He dug frantically in his pouch.
Fi let out a soft chime. “Master…” her voice was hesitant. “There is a 97 percent chance that the prizes for the Trial are not, in fact, accumulative.”
Link swallowed hard. “So… my shield…”
“It appears that in order to acquire the shield you must stop after defeating the 8th boss in the trial.” Fi said.
Her voice, usually free of nearly all inflection, sounded distinctly apologetic.
Link stared for a few moments into some middle distance that only he could see, then slowly nodded.
“If you’ll excuse me for a few moments,” He said to the dragon, his voice distant-sounding; then, without waiting for an answer, Link turned on his heel and meandered off.
As soon as he got out of sight, he collapsed, dug his fingers into the ground, and screamed. He screamed for five minutes straight, until his throat ached and his eyes burned with the tears that refused to fall.
“2,000 rupees.” He muttered into the dirt. “My wallet can only hold 1,900. And I already had about 500 at least. After all that. I didn’t even get 2,000 rupees.”
Fi floated above Link where he lay prone, hesitating. Finally, she spoke. “You may have not gained the shield this time, Master, but you did finish the trial. That proves that gaining the shield is well within your capabilities. With adequate rest and preparation, you can once again attempt the trial—”
“No,” Link said, and pushed himself off the ground. “No.”
Fi stared down at him, discombobulated.
“You said it, Fi,” Link said, beginning to clamber to his feet, a determined light in his eye. “I proved I can get the shield. So I’m going to. Now. I’m not gonna wait any longer and let my skills get rusty. I’m going to get that shield.”
Fi floated uncertainly for a moment, before bowing her head.
“…Perhaps you should at least get a fresh Guardian potion?”
Link considered this. “All right. But then I’m going to go get the shield.”
~~~
Link got the Guardian potion, and wasted half an hour trying to get bugs to upgrade it, before dismissing it as taking too long and heading back up to Skyloft. Fi radiated a mixture of disapproval and concern, but Link didn’t care.
Today was the day, and he wouldn’t stop until he had that shield in his hands.
He equipped his shield, he downed the Guardian potion, and he picked Moldarach for his first fight. It was a bit harder than last time, as the potion wasn’t as effective, but the stupid scorpion exploded into purple smoke and Link was off to fight Ghirahim.
One by one Link stabbed, hacked, ran and slashed his way through his old opponents, frantically consuming heart-blossoms and trying to get through each enemy as quickly and safely as possible. After what felt like hours of exertion, here Link was. His Eight enemy.
Koloktos.
Link wielded the whip with confidence, darting forward to lure the enemy into a strike before dancing away and snatching away the guardian’s arms, before running in and striking the core. Ducking and dodging behind pillars, grabbing at heart-blossoms and striking down zombies. His heart raced, his breath came in pants. The insides of his gauntlets grew slick with sweat, yet Fi as ever remained irm and sure in his hand.
And then—with deft flicks of his wrist, the whip snatched away three arms, and Link was scooping up one of Koloktos’ large swords. A surge of emotion flooded through him: hope, determination, satisfaction, expectation, and last but not least, sheer rage.
And with a yell, Link chopped at the legs of Koloktos. The colossus crashed to the ground with a discordant clang, but the Chosen Hero didn’t hesitate for even a moment. He swung at the torso with a yell.
“This is for Skyloft!”
Another sweep across the grating.
“This is for Hylia!”
The grating snapped, leaving the crimson core pulsing and exposed. Victory was near at hand, the shield was near at hand—
He swung again.
“This is for Zelda!”
Koloktos shuddered. Link hauled the massive blade back, sucked in a deep breath, and yelled.
“AND THIS. IS. FOR. MY. SHIELD!”
He brought the blade down in a gleaming arc, slicing directly across the core.
Koloktos jerked, shuddered, and Link let out a final scream of victory. “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
The golden guardian fell to the ground with resounding crash.
“I did it.” Link whispered, a wild grin crossing his face. His hands squeezed around the grip of his sword and shield, his heart still racing, his mind frantically trying to accept the fact that he’d won.
The room filled with a brilliant white light, and it was finally over.
Link was back in the bubble of the ancient past in Lanayru Gorge, the Thunder Dragon before him.
“You have done well, and beaten your previous record,” The dragon rumbled. “If you quit now, you will get an absurdly strong shield—”
“YES.”
It was beautiful A deep blue, adorned with three golden triangles and the familiar shape of a crimson bird. Link stroked his fingers reverently over the metallic surface.
In that moment, Link knew it had all been worth it.
“Congratulations, Master,” Fi chimed. “You have succeeded against great odds, and have obtained the Hylian shield. This shield has a 85% chance of drastically increasing your success rates while battling enemies.”
“I know, right?” Link said, his voice giddy. The fight was over now, but he still felt pumped up. His blood rushed through his veins, and all of a sudden neither his arms nor his legs felt tired anymore.
“…Master,” Fi added, the tone of her voice faintly cautious and pleading, “now that you have gained your objective, I recommend that you return to Skyloft and get the proper rest and recovery your ordeal demands. You have just fought seventeen bosses in the space of a day, and there is a 72% chance that—”
“I’ll rest later.” Link said, bouncing on his feet a little. “I don’t feel like I can rest right now! I wanna do something!”
Fi was silent for a moment. “What activity do you have in mind, Master?”
“Well…” Link said, a manic gleam in his eye. “If you beat four bosses, the reward is a Piece of Heart—"
~~~
...So yeah I got the Hylian Shield. And this is how I got it. So I made Link get it the way I did because I was still buzzing with adrenaline, still on the high of that cinematic finish with Koloktos (I shouted what I made Link shout) and I wanted to do something.
So I made Link suffer as I have suffered.
...also I did get the piece of heart but it was a near thing. And then my dad made me get off because I’d been playing for 2 and a half hours and it was past 1:00 am.
So yeah.
I’ve got my shield now, and I am very happy 💖
(I also got the piece of heart 😉)
