So the Sonic brainrot has set in hard… whee adhd hyperfixations… these little guys just won’t leave my brain…
It’s gotten so bad I’ve decided to write a more lighthearted modern AU where no one died… except maybe Mrs. Robotnik… and tails parents maybe… it rearranged canon a lot and if there’s more interest I’ll go deeper into it. This sketch started as drawing of the angsty little family I’d assembled for Shadow, then I wanted to draw Sonic… then it got out of hand. I had ones I wanted to do, but ran out of outfit ideas… I’m not good at costuming… the best outfits are the only ones I had real ideas for.
Sorry guys I haven’t actually played most games or read most books but I have watched too much official and unofficial Sonic content…
Uhh this was long but have a nice day may your blorbos steal your braincells nyeh heh heh

Thomas Hewitt Medical Analysis / Headcanons?? Because I love him
TW: Self-mutilation, Hoyt mention {very very brief}, typical canon activities, self-harm?, skin conditions,
Very poor editing, my apologies -
Speech:
I’ve seen many people assume that Thomas either A.) Doesn’t speak by choice; B.) Can’t speak from vocal {cord} issues; Or C.) A combination of the two / his facial deformity. I agree with everyone else but I’d also like to add a potential reason: I’m pretty sure Thomas was diagnosed with ‘metal deterioration’ of some sort in the introduction scene {2006/The Beginning}, and considering this was the mid-late 1900’s, knowledge on mental health was very little compared to now, especially in such a small town. Thomas could possibly be neurodivergent, maybe high-function autism but even then, Thomas could simply have a condition called Speech Apraxia/Apraxia of Speech/AOS/CAS. “In CAS, the brain has trouble planning for speech movement. The brain isn't able to properly direct the movements needed for speech. The speech muscles aren't weak, but the muscles don't form words the right way.” - Mayo Clinic. This could’ve been amplified by his facial deformity. I don’t think it’s irrational to think Thomas can speak, or speaks scarcely, but it’s also not irrational to think Thomas just doesn’t speak. I don’t think it’s a vocal cord issue as Thomas can make sounds pretty well {Considering he screams/yells/yelps at times in the 2003 remake, and even ‘howls’ in the 2006 version after he gets stabbed by Chrissie.} This is just a thought though, I could be wrong.
Skin Condition:
In a behind-the-scenes video {which can be found on youtube}, one of the crew members said Thomas had an extreme form of skin cancer. Now, this could very well be true, but if it was a real-world condition, Thomas would either be bed-ridden, hooked to a machine constantly, or dead. This condition could be made up, but I’ve found two possible real-world conditions which Thomas may have.
Cutaneous Lupus {CLE}. “Cutaneous lupus is one type of lupus — an autoimmune disease that causes inflammation in different body tissues. “Cutaneous lupus,” which means skin lupus, affects your skin. Inflammation in your skin causes a variety of symptoms — most often a red, scaly rash. These symptoms are triggered by sunlight exposure.” - Cleveland Clinic. This, as most skin conditions, can be localized, meaning they’re only in one area. In Thomas’ case, this is his face. This could also occur in his scalp, neck, and ears for all we know. CLE is also not contagious.
___
What is CLE?
“Cutaneous lupus, or skin lupus, is an autoimmune disease that affects your skin, causing skin rashes. Autoimmune diseases happen when your immune system mistakenly attacks your own body tissues. In cutaneous lupus, your immune system attacks your skin cells, causing chronic inflammation in your skin. This manifests as a recognizable rash, often with related symptoms like itching, irritation or swelling.” - Cleveland Clinic
2. Pustular Psoriasis. Now, this diagnosis doesn’t make the most sense until you see the actual ‘photo’ of Thomas’ face. A photo {Which is shown below} is from the 2006/The Beginning behind-the-scenes’ on youtube. This looks A LOT like Pustular Psoriasis to me; Though I could be very wrong. “Symptoms of pustular psoriasis include pustules (white or yellow, pus-filled, painful bumps) that may be surrounded by inflamed or reddened/discolored skin. The pus in pustules is caused by inflammation and is not contagious. People with plaque psoriasis or other types of psoriasis may also develop pustular psoriasis” - The National Psoriasis Foundation. Common placement of Pustular Psoriasis includes the hands, feet, scalp, and face. It usually affects the hands and feet {Palmoplantar pustulosis}, but not in all patients.
___
What’s the Difference?
“Pustular psoriasis is a type of psoriasis that causes skin plaques with pustules or blisters anywhere on your body. Palmoplantar pustulosis, which is also known as palmoplantar pustular psoriasis, is pustular psoriasis that affects only your hands and feet.” - Cleveland Clinic
___
What is Pustular Psoriasis?
Psoriasis is an auto-immune disease, as is CLE: “Your immune system keeps your body healthy by defending itself against foreign invaders like bacteria. These invaders can make you sick. If you have psoriasis, your skin immune system becomes overactive and releases inflammatory molecules that cause healthy skin cells to divide and replicate too quickly, which causes dead skin cells to form on the surface of your skin as scales or flakes. This state of immunologic over-activity also causes certain cells from the immune system called neutrophils to collect in the most superficial layers of the skin, which causes pustules.” - Cleveland Clinic

I’m not joking, this is an actual screenshot from the Behind-The-Scenes at around 32:17. Now, I don’t think Thomas’ condition AS SEEN IN THE FILMS is as extreme, but this might be what a flare-up looks like for him. That being said, there’s a significant feature Thomas has that we haven’t addressed yet,
How Did Thomas Lose His Nose?
In The Beginning {2006}, we can see Thomas’ nose cartilage rotting off from multiple open wounds. Just based on this information, it’s safe to assume it just rotten off, right? Not necessarily. Looking at Thomas’ face reveal in the 2003 remake, we notice the nose is cleanly cut off right where the ‘rot’/wound was in the 2006 version. Combine this with his tendency of self-mutilation, this leads me to assume he {or someone in the family} cut it off. Now, I’ve researched this a bit {hyperfixation running rampant rn} and cutting off your nose doesn’t hit any major arteries and isn’t life-threatening on its own. However, your nose is part of what’s called the ‘Triangle of Death.’ The Triangle of Death is a part of the face featuring the nose all the way down to the corners of the mouth. Because this area is so close to your brain as well as openings in your face, infections can be deadly. So cutting off your own nose could kill you from infection, not the act itself. Obviously, Thomas didn’t die from this as he’s in the damn movies with a fully-healed 'nose'. Anyway, going back to observing his face, we can also see the nasal bone. Finally answering the question: It’s safe to assume Thomas picks at his skin alot. Combine this with poor hygiene and wearing his {very dirty} mask all the time, his wounds most likely got infected. This caused him to literally rot from the inside out, which caused necrosis. Thomas most likely cut his nose off because of an infection that had the potential to be fatal. Lord knows Luda Mae was probably horrified and I’m sure Hoyt wasn’t too thrilled either..{Monty’s snoozin’ 100%}
Anyway, apologies for the poorly-edited and non-coherent rant. I see so many theories and get a bit intimidated to comment under most of them so I decided to post this instead. :)

My Personal Gordie Makuwa Headcanons:
To start off, personally, I’d like to think that all the Gym Leaders of Galar are queer in some fashion— besides the kids, they all scream a bit homosexual in some way…and Gordie, that’s no issue. He’s definitely a strong bisexual character. In my GUT I can feel it.
I don’t know if GameFreak ever came out with age ranges for the characters in Galar, but I think Gordie is around early 20s or early 30s. This is mainly because he’s the eldest child of Melony’s and that bro got siblings out the wazoo, older brother shit
For some more sporadic and random ones, he definitely does holiday photoschoot specials for his special league cards!! Not the same kind of modeling that Nessa does like high production and glam shots, but small photos to give out during rare meet and greets (especially how he has fan card albums stated in his league card).
Very confident in his body!! I hate when people or show media always illustrate plus size ppl either as nerds or insecure ppl, like yes that can happen BUT not all the time. Like Gordie exudes confidence in the way he stands and battles on the field! Plus, he does backflips! Bro got some balls to do that every. single. time.
He doesn’t mind Ice Type Pokemon, just likes being petty to upset his mum. Also to prove a point against her and that he personally just loves Rock Type Pokemon
Definitely that kid that collected cool rocks and put them in some kind of box/jar for safe keeping !
With all the media attention he gets and the huge fanbase he has obtained over the years, he definitely has some sort of ego. NOT LIKE EGOISTICAL LEMME BE CLEAR— like he knows he’s good at what he does but it’s slightly amplified when there’s fans around. That’s why he feels shitty when he does lose a battle; cause in the back of his mind, he thinks it’s only proving his mum right and that he’s not strong enough yet
Shuckle is definitely his first pokemon/companion! Why else would this little guy just be on his team when Gordie has literal BOULDERS as teammates? He fucking loves Shuckle
Wears designer clothes and the type of mf to dress up even if it’s to go to the grocery store. He loves to impress ✨
Has that cool dude attitude on the outside, but behind closed doors and a few people he’s comfortable with, will be the dorkiest and goofiest guy around. Pulling up with snarky remarks and stupid photos on his Rotom phone.
A really cool older brother; as much as he isn’t home a lot, he does try to make up for his little siblings by playing with them, taking them out around Circhester/other cities, or making sure they have someone to talk to especially if it’s about their mum
Truth be told, he is a Mama’s boy. He does love Melony but he just wish she would support his drive to be the Rock Type Gym Leader. Just a bit petty towards her (a lot)
That’s it for now since I’m tired from worksjsjsjs hyperfixations do save lives cause I was about to tweak out until I thought of pokemon and Gordie in general :333

What's up with the OIAR?
Disclaimer/spoiler warning: Written after TMAGP ep. 34. Spoilers for all of the Magnus Protocol until this point. Minor spoilers for the Magnus Archives.
These are some theories I've cooked up in the alchemy lab of my mind. They are wild, incomplete and probably contradictory, so take them for what they are. I base all of this on the tria prima theory I explained in an earlier post, so go read that for context.
I decided to only focus on the OIAR in this post. I'll make another post on my Magnus Institute theories later and link to them eventually.
What's the purpose of the OIAR?
Here's what we know:
The OIAR monitors and assesses incidents and (at least in the past) responds to them if necessary
Based on the ARG and Colin's ramblings, it used to be under DDR, probably run by their secret police. Fr3-d1's source code is in German, so that makes sense. The operation was probably moved to the UK after the DDR disbanded.
It employs and (according to Lena) manages "externals". Lena considers this work vital, and Colin blames the OIAR for only caring about the "balance", specifically mentioning mercury and sulphur.
I will start by quoting the German physician and alchemist Paracelsus who first proposed the tria prima as the integral principles and used them in his practice of medicine.
If you have a bone and can say whether it is mostly Sulphur, Mercury, or Salt, you know why it is diseased or what is the matter with it.  The peasant can see the externals, but the physician's task is to see the inner and secret matter. (Paracelsus, Opus Paramirum)
(Translation by Nicholas Goodrick-Clarke. I compared it against another translation and the original German, and it's more or less accurate but much easier to understand.)
This may sound far-fetched, but I think the OIAR are practicing Paracelsian medicine on a macrocosmic level. That is, they are monitoring the universal levels of Sulphur, Mercury, and Salt, the imbalance of which is causing these weird supernatural occurrences. Except they can't address every incident individually, so they can only concern themselves with the overall effect (surely a mercury poisoning somewhere balances a salt poisoning somewhere else) and only step in if there is a universal excess of one principle over others. At that point they arrange for their carefully curated externals to go out and do whatever they do to spread their diseased influence. (As an interesting side note, Paracelsus also likes to use the word external (das Eussere), although he mostly uses it to denote the macrocosmos (the nature/universe) which is reflected in the microcosmos (ie. the human body). Occasionally, like in the quote above, he uses it in the sense of "the human body as viewed from the outside".)
If this is the case, then the OIAR employees would function kind of like diagnosticians who assess the nature and severity of the incidents. I also imagine the responses used to be a bit more aggressive until the response unit mysteriously ceased to be. Could have something to do with their associates at Starkwell burning down the Magnus Institute right before they were about to undertake their Magnum Opus (more on that in a later post). A good call, but probably bad for optics. I also think it's a very bad sign that there is currently no one in charge who knows what their actual purpose is.
What's up with Fr3-d1?
I have tried and tried to figure out Fredi's classification system (or as I now see it, the diagnosis), to no avail. I'm fairly certain that the category CAT simply denotes whether the case concerns 1. an individual/living creature, 2. a location or 3. an object or non-living creature. I imagine the rank has to do with the severity or urgency of addressing it. But the DPHW eludes me. I somehow want to link it to the elemental properties (dry, cold, hot, wet) that (according to Paracelsus) are the usual cause for changes in the principles, but the acronym doesn't mesh. I can't help but feel that the answer is somewhere in Paracelsus's writings, as he appropriately wrote in German and could easily provide direct equivalents in TSHU. Or I could be wasting my time and it's something entirely unrelated. I definitely shouldn't go any deeper into that particular rabbit hole. And yet...
I do think that Fredi was originally just a soulless machine created for a purpose, but it's recently been possessed by a consciousness (anima). Unfortunately, I'm not quite ready to buy the John/Martin/Jonah theory, because it feels too much like a red herring. They gave it to us very early on, so clearly that's a conclusion they wanted us to jump to. No mystery writer does that unless it's for misdirection. Though I could potentially buy a version where they ended up in there in mind (mercury) alone. If you read my previous post (and this probably didn't make much sense unless you did), I explained that the mercurial qualities and associations are reminiscent of the Eye, especially the associations to thought, knowledge, universal essence of existence, the fluctuating boundary between corprorality and non-corporality, and the idea of connecting heaven and earth (and possibly other worlds?). What I'm saying is, the three of them, in the eye of the panopticon, were already in a pretty mercurial state. So while I'm not banking on it, I'm also not saying it's impossible.
Whatever the case, I think we can all agree that Fredi (or whoever's in there) is manipulating everyone to their own goals.

Just remembered an 'argument' I had with my ex-friend over Drarry. She shipped it and I told her she was crazy. I can see why she didn't want to be friends after that.
