"Issue #33: Hurt Me! Beat Me! Just Please Don't Leave Me!"

Thank you all for your patience while I worked on this! It's the longest issue of PATFW to date, so I hope you understand why it took me so long to produce. At the current pace it seems like issues will come out about every three weeks (or a little more), which is a bit funny to me. I called them "issues" as a reference to comic books and now look where I am. Full circle.

The boys are having a rough time of it, though, unfortunately. If it wasn't already abundantly clear, Cormorantpaw has some pretty severe abandonment and trust issues, which led to him keeping secrets from Pinepaw out of fear that he'd be left once again. But it's hard for Pinepaw to see that perspective when he's just lost his sister, and thinks that she possibly could've been saved... bad situation all around.

At least Thrasher is finally dead! That's worth celebrating, right? Both he and Crow died from a kick to the head, by the way, and the deer who killed Crow is Wild Rose's son Hyssop.

Casting Instructions for 'Spell to Banish Jealousy'

What you will need:

A candle in your favorite color

A green candle

A small knife

Cinnamon joss sticks

Cinnamon essential oil

Hyssop - the herb

The timing of this spell should also be considered as it forms part of the ingredients. Perform the spell during the dark moon.

1. Have a purifying hyssop bath to wash away negativity, then cast a magick circle.

Starting in the east, walk around the room clockwise with a cinnamon joss stick in your right hand. Visualize a blue sphere surrounding your home.

2. Step into the circle. Using the knife, etch your name on the candle chosen to represent yourself, and the jealous person's name on the green candle. Start so the name begins nearest the wick and goes down the candle. It’s ok if you don’t know their name, just wrote ‘enemy mine’.

3.Anoint your candle with cinnamon oil. Light it saying:

''It is my will to banish jealousy from my life.''

Now anoint the green candle and say:

''This candle represents a jealous person who will trouble me no more.''

4. Light the green candle and move it out of the room towards the front door, saying:

''I banish envy out of the door. May your spirit grow past petty spite, to fill your soul with love and light.''

Allow the candle to burn down to the wick.

5. Bind your spell by imagining a blue ribbon of energy and tie a knot with this around your candle, saying:

''I call on Earth to bind this spell, Air to speed its travel well, Fire bring spirit from above, Water fill this spell with love. This spell bound around shall be, to cause no harm nor return on me. As I do will So Mote It Be.''

6. Thank the elements, saying:

''Earth, Water, Fire, Air, leave this circle to my care. Go with my thanks and with my love.''

Now walk around the room counterclockwise with a cinnamon joss stick, seeing the blue circle of flames fading away.

Hyssop

Planet: Jupiter Element: Fire Powers: Purification, protection

Hyssop is one of the most widely used protection and purification herbs in magic.

It can be added to baths in sachets for purification. Dip hyssop branches in water and sprinkle it on people or objects to cleanse them. Hang in the home to purge it of evil.

Hyssop has analgesic, antifungal, and antiseptic properties. Poultices and salves can be used to treat burns, rashes, and irritated or inflamed skin.

Hyssop tea is good for the digestive and respiratory systems. It is used to loosen phlegm in upper respiratory infections, reduce fevers, suppress coughs, and aid in relaxation and sleep.

"Issue #28: Viscera, Shiny In the Light of Day"

This absolute monster of an issue is one I've been incredibly excited to get to for months now. Deepdark is a very important character, as the primary antagonist, and he's finally gotten a real spotlight on him. At this point I'm really just writing original xenofiction too, which is fun. Yeah, this a Warrior cats story, you're getting a deer murder cult and you'll be happy with it.

One thing that I think it important to make clear is that Longest-Claws was not the "leader of Defiance before Deepdark". He was the leader of a group that Deepdark took inspiration from and poached several of its members, but Defiance is entirely Deepdark's creation.

Also, it's nice to finally reveal that Lingonberry is just Deepdark's original name! He took on 'Deepdark' after he killed Longest-Claws. Although they are not separate characters, I'll be tagging posts that refer to Deepdark's past with just 'Lingonberry' so as to not spoil any future readers who may be looking through the tag.

The animals featured in the big panels on page 2 and page 9 are cameos from the PATFW Discord, many of which are Defiance fan-characters. All of the characters and their respective creators will be tagged under the cut.
