#idw is constantly Kiling It with the turtle characterizations but man what they are doing with raph is so special #he was alone for a Year at the very start and then finally found his family #he’s familiar with how to survive but now he has a support system! a family!#and then bit by bit everything gets more dangerous #casey gets hurt Badly. leo is kidnapped and brainwashed. donnie almost dies. splinter’s desperate to kill shredder and succeeds #and then mikey leaves bc he sees the path splinter is on and he can’t be a part of that #raph’s family keeps getting hurt or they leave and he’s trying so hard to protect and keep them together #god the talk raph has with mikey absolutely rips me apart bc it’s literally right before splinter sets up harold as bait #we all know raph is the fighter and the protector but i really like how idw showcases it #he’s terrified but he can’t stop fighting or else something else will happen to his family and they will possibly get killed #sorry i’m insane about him #tmnt idw #tmnt #idw #idw raph #idw leo #idw donnie #idw mikey #teenage mutant ninja turtles #turtle talks

im realizing what’s really bothering me the most about the upcoming kiryu cancer arc (words i never expected to write in total seriousness) isn’t the cancer itself but how kiryu’s response to it (or lack thereof) is straight up suicidal in a way that’s impossible to ignore or deny. like there’s no way around that this time- he can explain in circles about “taking responsibility” and how “retirement’s just not in the cards for me” and whatever else but the fact is he was getting treatment and then he gave up and stopped, resigning to literally fighting til he’s killed or drops dead. because that’s all he thinks he’s useful for at this point and he’s got nothing else to live for. I really don’t wanna be a huge downer or whatever but like god it’s hard for me to enjoy all the fun silly stuff announced for this game when the whole time I know that oh, kiryu’s actively slowly and painfully killing himself and a good number of the people around him having fun doing whatever apparently Know About It and are just. not making a bigger deal of it. sorry kiryu I love you but karaoke isn’t very fun when everybody knows you should seriously be in chemo instead.

#I kind of think part of it is that he’s running from the issue of haruka finding out he’s alive #like. it’s almost convenient for him that he gets sick. if he dies like this then he won’t have to worry about admitting to faking his #death and putting his kids through hell and whatnot. cause he’ll Actually be dead.#plus at this point it’s like- what would he even say? hi haruka sorry I had to fake my death like that. im back for now but I have cancer so #we’ll see how long that lasts #fuck.#sorry it just really hit me that this is the most. outwardly. suicidal thing he’s ever done #hearing his explanation………. it’s really. the most depressing thing I think I’ve ever seen in this franchise #rambling #kiryu #y8 #rgg 8 spoilers

So, my family is rewatching Rings of Power, and since I’m the one in the family that read The Silmarillion (like a masochist), I’m the one who keeps getting asked all the questions.

#‘did this happen?’ well broadly speaking yes but Tolkien never fleshed this part of middle-earth’s history out in much detail #but I know exactly where they got the idea for whatever it is most of the time #‘is Galadriel’s husband really dead’ of course not #‘did Sauron ever go by the name Halbrand?’ well not really but also how much time do you have because this is going to take some explaining #‘is that Gandalf?’ almost definitely but they’re doing the blue wizard thing with him by taking him to Rhun #also I think they’re making him the basis for the hobbit’s ’man in the moon’ song so I’m honestly okay with it #‘is the Queen lady’s nightmare significant’ Yes three times over but how am I supposed to say anything about it #without giving away what’s probably a season finale #‘what’s with the mithril?’ Hell if I know I’m as confused as you are about that #actually the Galadriel’s husband one was funny #because of course Celeborn shows up in the movies #but my mom wasn’t sure that was actually her husband #or some random blorbo #or a second husband #which then opened up the whole conversation #to how the elves are painfully monogamous even when their spouse dies #because they way they die is weird and also #they all still have generational and firsthand trauma from the fallout of that one elf guy who did get remarried #rings of power spoilers

what piercings does Danny have in your CFAU?

Danny’s got double lobe piercings on both ears, and then helixes, and an orbital on one side! Then he’s got an eyebrow piercing on the right side of his face. I don’t have any particular reason for why he’s got piercings as an adult, I just thought it’d be a fun way to indicate a physical change from when he was 14 and last saw the Waynes, to the next time they see him. Although with this version of Danny (rather than my original, unserious beta version of CFAU), it probably would follow that he'd potentially get piercings when he was older. (So not a total shock)
