i am so tired and also posting this on my rb account because i don't want anyone who isn't like. following following me to see it

rant/vent? under the cut? idk im just. rambling. about how i may to may not be neurodivergent. im trying to figure stuff out and im hoping that if i put it here i can maybe clear my head a bit.

im. like 90% sure i have social anxiety. that's a given though ig. most people prolly dont feel their hearts start to actually hurt when going somewhere by urself with ppl you dont know. and um. im scared of talking to people. like irrationally terrified. and it may be a consequence of me being at home all the time but honestly idk.

i think i may have adhd. i dont have a comprehensive list of everything that i do that i think is a part of adhd behaviour but. everytime i see someone mention something that is supposedly a symptom of adhd im like hey! i do that! and im starting to think its not a coincidence anymore?

BUT at the same time i feel like im. idk trying to convince myself. for some reason. like maybe im not, maybe im just connecting dots that aren't really there, maybe im trying to fool myself into thinking that im different. it doesn't help that i don't really have a reason to care about whether or not im neurodivergent. im doing fine, and im not struggling at all, so does it even matter?

idk. idk if it even matters if it should matter. does that make sense? like maybe if i want to know, then that's reason enough for me to start questioning things. but is that a valid reason to essentially self diagnose? i feel like maybe im undermining somebody else's experiences by just. saying that i might have adhd.

anyways. i think i have the inattentive type of adhd. i don't get hyperactive very often (ironic, considering my user and the general tone that i present myself with here). a lot of my symptoms match up with the inattentive type of adhd. pretty much every website lists the same things (lack of attention to detail, trouble staying focused, frequent spiciness, difficulty following instructions, being easily distracted, forgetfulness, etc) and i always feel like. yeah everyone does that. i always do that. are you sure that that's an adhd thing. it feels obvious!!! but it isn't!!! so maybe i do have it!!! maybe!!!

its. ive also started questioning if my fam is neurodivergent too. just because a lot of the stuff associate with them doesn't seem to be neurotypical. and again im stuck with the issue of like. is that fine to do? to question if they are or aren't neurotypical? because. i think my mom has the hyperactive type of adhd. or maybe both. and my dad may be on the autism spectrum. and my sister may be as well. but it feels bad to write that down!! i don't think it should feel bad to write but it does!! because what if i don't actually know them!! what if my brain is lying to me!! i don't know anymore!!

one of the top 10 things my mom likes to say is that we don't think like each other. my mom and my dad don't think the same. me and my sister don't think the same. me and my mom don't think the same. and it rlly rlly shows, in how we communicate and how we argue. and it is genuinely so frustrating sometimes. but NOBODY thinks the same, right? because its all. a result of circumstance. or whatever. and nobody's BRAINS works the same. but isn't that the point?? of the distinction between neurotypical and neurodivergent people?? are we all neurodivergent?? are only some of us?? are none of us?? I HAVE NO IDEA

Things that are underappreciated abt baljeets portrayal as a ‘nerd’

-people like him. He’s bullied by buford sure but the other characters who arent his friends are just like ‘hey its baljeet from school. Hi baljeet :)’ like they Dont care. Irving doesnt seem to have much reaction to him and wendy even seems excited that they’re under the mistletoe in the christmas episode. At most the fireside girls (minus ginger) find him boring but they dont hate or bully him or owt. He’s just A Guy and buford is the only person who makes a big deal out of his nerd status cos its not actually a big deal

-there are a few jokes about him not being very strong but he’s not unfit. He enjoys sports and is always seen participating in them. Theres no jokes about him being last to be picked on a team or comically bad at it, he’s just…there. Playing with the other kids. He even uses his smarts to help him with certain sports which is a rlly neat touch

-this is rlly subjective but i love when the show leans into that kind of bill nye ‘cool nerd’ energy with him. Like what he’s doing is REALLY lame but its SO lame it becomes cool in its own way. Like riding a unicycle or using a protractor to play baseball or unironically dabbing on someone in 2020. Imo baljeet is at his most powerful when the writers channel those vibes onto him. Baljeets the kinda guy to show up to the school disco in suspenders and a bow tie and rock it simply with his sheer audacity

-he’s at his coolest when he stops worrying. Baljeets coolest accomplishments- ‘mainstream cool’ not the aforementioned nerdy cool- are always stuff he does when he lets his guard down and stops TRYING to be cool. 90% of the time baljeet actively tries to be cool or suave or whatever he just completely embarrasses himself (look to any time he’s flirted with isabella) but when he’s acting for himself like in bully bromance breakup or the baljeatles he kind of fucking rocks????? Like wtf. Dude climbed a mountain because he had an adrenaline rush. Thats sick as fuck. He didnt perform gimme a grade trying to look badass, he did it because he was genuinely angry and no longer gave a shit what anyone thought. He even says it in the song- ‘i wont be told how to vent’- this is a 100% genuine expression of emotion with no outside motivation. And its one of his coolest moments in the show. Everytime baljeet tries to be cool its kind of tragic because he IS just not when he tries too hard

-baljeet is a nerd specifically because of his autistic coded rigid thinking. He’s not like that for no reason or because his parents are stereotypically abusive- he’s like this because he needs strict rules to understand the world around him. Baljeet needs to know he’s good enough. Grades give him a simple ‘yes or no’ answer to that question. Therefore: he needs to get good grades to be good enough. Its how he makes sense of the world and pulling that system out from under him throw him into a breakdown. We see this in the baljeatles, again with his schedule in bubble buddies and this black and white view of the world gives him extreme anxiety over decision making in primal perry. That last plot point is especially interesting to me because baljeet has shown signs of an anxiety disorder before that all tie into this world view. That one wrong move can cause his life to spiral and so he NEEDS the rules to keep him safe. This is probably why he stayed with buford (y’know before they became friends). He was a nerd and buford was a bully. Thats a binary he can understand. And the rules here state that the bully picks on the nerd. He may not always like the rules but he does follow them. His nerdiness has actual depth and reasoning behind it thats often overlooked

-baljeet does not shy away from things he is bad at. When he accidentally signed up for a rock and roll camp, he didnt simply leave because he cant get his head around rock. He sat through the whole course, learnt to play that damn electric guitar and turned up for his concert. Yes sometimes he can be scared or defeatist- but he always comes back from it. He’s not good at building but he always helps phineas and ferb. He’s clearly no expert at romance but he still pursues it fairly often. He’s still just a kid and no expect on astrophysics, but he’s gonna do his best to help his friends out of a tight spot dammit! The ‘cowardly nerd’ aspect was dropped from his character fairly early on and while he has plenty of mundane fears and anxieties, in a crisis he’s one of the most level-headed of the group. He’s way braver than most give him credit for, just as willing to jump into situations he’s not suited for as the brothers or isabella

My mom never had a real job. She had me at 19 and my father who is a military promised to provide for her while she would take care of the baby and the house. It was old fashioned but here in northeast brazil people were still kinda living like it was the 40s in 1993. Everything she had that produced income was temporary and unstable and dangerous, like working on a drugstore and getting robbed thrice a week, convincing people to make credit cards on our town’s main square all day long walking by feet under a 90° sun to get paid like $600 a month… and it wasn't even close to enough to keep two kids (my little sis had just been born back then) and lead a decent life, since it was one my parent’s longest break ups. But that was when she was finally able to get a high school degree, at the age of 30.

Ten years later, in 2014, I convinced her, after 25 years married to my incredibly toxic father that blamed HER (who was drunk) for being sexually assaulted by his brother, and used this through my entire childhood and adolescence as an excuse to cheat on her many times with many different women. We also had to deal with my father being chemically dependent to drugs since he was 18yo, which led to many missed opportunities and irresponsibly spent money, which would always take its toll on our finances. tea is we never rlly spent a single month without hustling a lot to get basic living. Maybe once for 3 years exactly when I was born and he got into the army, but that was it.

Nowadays both me and my mom work part time at this place teaching little kids their home-works to get paid a little less than $180 dollars each/a month. Six months ago my father managed to cut my alimony off and now only pays my sister’s alimony which basically pays for our three bedroom half-house. The other bills & food & gas is paid by our salary + the graphic design freelance thingies I get every once in a while and when she has enough courage to UBER.

We’ve been living together for a year now, from 2010—2017 I was living with my father’s sister, an incredibly toxic aunt that would disguise her fatphobia and motherly issues that she has with her sociopathic daughter as overprotectiveness and control and compulsion towards me. So yeah, I’m just glad we’re finally getting this time to be an actual family together but it has been tough since our financial conditions been unstable. So thats why I am asking for yalls help: My mom needs money to start this radiography course that takes 2 years and it costs an amount of money that is completely out of our budget (like 2k dollars) but it can get discounted up to 45% if we pay everything in advance, or get like 20% off if we pay every month without delay. since my mind keeps replaying all the reasons u were perfect, here are the reasons u were fucking far from it.

1. ur ex drama. u dumped me for ur ex, then u realized that she was not right for u so u hit me up again. u got jealous that ur best friend was hitting me up and made sure to put an end to that really fast by making moves on me while u were still w ur ex. then u talked to me for a good period to follow thru on ur own ego problems and then proceeded to hook up w ur ex. who the actual fuck does this. stick to ONE u absolute manwhore. if u were so in love with ur ex why would u flirt with me while u guys were together, if u were so in love with me why would u hook up with her while we were talking. u literally just dont care about anyone but ur motherfucking self and it took me way too long to realize it, it took me my literal parents having to split us up for me to see the damage u did. 

2. u never made any effort to come see me. everything was on ur schedule, if u didnt want to hang out with me, u would go off. if u were horny, u would stay on. no explanations needed. if u felt like opening up, u would. otherwise, just pictures of ur eyebrow. i was constantly the one running around in circles trying to make this work. i decided to come see u in the morning, i would be the one who would come stand by ur friends at the end of the day, u never would fucking ask me to. unless, of course, it was whether u could come over to fuck. then, you would ask without any hesitation and beg and plead and do everything in ur power to make it work. don’t think i ever saw that effort in any other aspect of our relationship, hmmmmmm. no sentimental gifts or cute texts. u literally did the bare minimum and for some fucking reason i idealized u for it. mostly because i thought that most girls wouldnt even be lucky enough to get the bare minimum from u, and im prolly right. like u fucked me up SO BAD that one day u were telling me abt some girl u ghosted and my fUCKED UP MIND ACTUALLY WENT “WOW I MUST BE SPECIAL SINCE HE NEVER GHOSTED ME. MUST MEAN THAT HE ACTUALLY LOVES ME.” TF??????????????????????? mental issues. 

3. u literally sent me essays about not trusting me and all this shit that made me think that u were breaking up with me the DAY of my sat and then claimed u forgot i had to take it that day. i woke up in such a panic thinking that u were trying to dump me the day of the most important test of my literal life. why the fuck would anyone do that. why. i knew every date of ur physics tests, i knew what was going on in ur life, even finding out things from ur sister because i wanted to know. u just didnt even care at all. like ik u prolly actually did forget but if i was even important to u u would not of ever forgot in the first place. 

4. the constant dumping. dude, if ur just gonna constantly pull that shit for u to fulfill some insecurity in ur head and make u feel like u have the power in the relationship, u need help. im sorry that all ur exes were downright obsessed with u and u never had to wonder if u were the one who cared less in the relationship, but just because i didnt do that doesnt mean that u can just keep tryna dump me to affirm ur power struggles. 

5. blaming ur own shortcomings on ur broken past. i dont doubt it, but letting ur past define u is not taking u anywhere and ur just gonna end up stuck in ur own cycle of not dealing with ur problems.

6. the literal lack of any kind of ambition, drive and hard work ethic. u work hard to appear cool, to get girls, to get drugs, to do all this unnecessary shit, why u cant put that effort into simple homework assignments so ur not FAILING a class, i will never know. 

7. u had every right to get mad at me for being friends with ishan or whatever but i dont fucking think i have ever called u out for being best friends with every single ex u have ever had in fact i trust u so much i dont care that u spend literally 90% of ur time with at least one girl that u have had history with whether its roopa, khushi, and many more that i havent heard abt yet.

8. u hooked up w roopa. bruh. thats just disgusting and u know it. 

9. u always came for ME about hearing things from other ppl abt what i was up to. UM. UM??????? do u KNOW the shit i heard about u but didnt even confront u because i trusted u THAT much. lmaoooooo looking back u were a fucking clown for even bringing up that argument. sure, i was far from perfect and i made some questionable choices, but bruh so did YOU. 

10. u rlly tried to hit it without a condom. are u fucking retarded. imagine if i got pregnant. forget my parents literally kicking me out. imagine the atrocity of my kids having YOU as a father. nightmare shit..

11. u were so fucking emotionally distant that i literally took every small BARE MINIMUM nice thing u did and fucking RAN with it. looking back its so clear that u rlly didnt do anything special, u didnt say anything special, u did not do anything to prove u loved me. all u were good at was empty words to string me on because we both know that saying shit takes no effort and ur all about that no effort lifestyle. like now that im thinking about it..... what have u done for me? what have u done? said i love you, texted me a shit ton when u were horny, said a bunch of future shit and made me laugh. wow u fulfilled the basic requirements of a relationship, and since u have a nice little reputation for being an asshole, i took that as a WOW HE MUST RLLY LOVE ME. thats actually so sad that i lowered my standards THAT much just so that i could be with u.

12. u made me cry and feel so low for so much of the relationship and i rlly dont understand why i thought we were so perfect. the lows we had were downright unacceptable and u never were able to truly put ur pride aside to tell me how u felt about me besides when we were fighting or u felt like u were losing me and thats how i know that the love we had mightve been genuine or whatever, but its not the love i deserve. 

7 months wasted, lowkey grateful my parents pulled me outta that shit bc i never would have had the mental strength to do it and we prolly woudlve ended up breaking up in like a few months bc u hooked up w some unc charlotte hoe or something. yikes. what u have been up to post-relationship is neither my business nor something i have a right to be upset about so im not gonna go off on u for that because i rlly dont have the mental space to care abt what ur up to now.
