cw for this rambling post since i talk about sexual predation and harassment targeting teenagers as it concerns myspace and scene/emo/pop punk nonsense. its not particularly scholarly or anything just shit i keep thinking about lately

still fascinated by scene/emo revival shit i see from people younger than me, being that it was my year-older sister who was really into the scenemo shit in middle school and pop punk in high school and we were both pretty young during its height of popularity. specifically in the idolization of myspace, warped tour, etc. being pretty idealistic because they never actually interacted with it themselves. its not like i dont have an interest in the 2000s as a space of music, and the way that myspace was had an effect with regards to how musicians shared and marketed their works. but there was still plenty of drama, bullying, bigotry, and sexual abuse which becomes pretty clear when doing actual research. or if you were there. and being harassed was both inter-community and from external sources.

part of it seems to be a veneration of the idea of a simpler time before a more 'homogenized' online experience, but myspace still was social media that fell into the same trappings as its contemporaries and later successors with regards to user data, spam, stalking... maybe it's the idea that doing something as a stupid teenager was less permanent because... well a lot of myspace garbage is lost/forgotten.

but people who were teenagers on myspace still got shit for being teenagers on myspace, you get me? and they still got doxxed and targeted for drama-fiending. there's pretty notable fucking cases of this that i remember. I was as old as some of the victims were when they happened, and im sure some of them still get shit for being victims to this day.

musicians in this culture predating on teenage girls was actually A BIG DEAL in conversation with warped tour... because who do you think were taking advantage of the young audiences they marketed themselves to, and where did they have the biggest opportunity to do so?

I just think its naive to have this really sanitized view of how things were on the internet for young people then, and really just the entire culture around emo/scene and pop punk in general here. i suppose that only makes sense. but the 'community' fucking sucked then and was filled with predatory and vile behavior that went unchecked, just like a lot of communities centered around shitheads have and will continue to suck. that's just not something you can escape by going backwards or forwards in time even if you want to believe that you would be left unscathed by it.

maybe its more uncomfortable knowing that some of the people that remain nostalgic for this period and were actually there are those washed-up sex offenders lamenting on how you can't be offensive anymore

You knew about Tommy and his character and channel, you enjoyed his content a lot as well, but you wanted to play around a little bit. Hopefully Tubbo will play along.

After that whole, incredibly longer than you thought, stream Tubbo decides to invite you along to their little meeting. Which you didnt know how you found yourself walking along Brighton's rocky shore in old Crocs. You were walking along the shoreline letting the cold water come up and hit your feet every so often.

He was waiting for Tommy at the moment, but you wanted to walk for a bit, he let you ho on by yourself while he waited for Tommy by himself.

You were quite a long way from where Tubbo seated himself on the rocks, you were doing your own thing looking at people who stared back at you for temporarily blocking their line of view of the shore, and little kids who decide to run away from their parents who weren't paying attention. Your peaceful walk got interrupted by your thoughts because you were quite a long way from Tubbo's resting place.

You started to head back, following back the way you came, but this time picking up the pace a bit to reach your destination. As you came upon Tubbo you saw a taller figure approach Tubbo and they seemed to greet eachother, it was hard to see where you were standing. Of course it was Tommy so the two of them started talking about who knows what, until Tubbo pointed your way.

As you kept walking, Tubbo continued to wave you over enthusiastically. You waved back with the same energy, finally making your way over to the both of them.

"What's up?" You asked the two of them with a smirk.

"Nothing much! Apparently you two haven't met before! So Tommy this is Y/N! Y/N thjs is Tommy!" Tubbo user hand gestures to introduce eachother.

OKAY ABOUT THE KNIFE TO THE THROAT SCENE

I like and agree with many plot points and ideas @marzzinaa talked about, which I remember you liked!

And I remember how she described the meeting scene and like how I see it is different? Can we talk about it?

In mine, they kept him in the castle but not a cell. Like yes, punishments. (Just for fun is so cruel so Cordelia would kill them all... Just for fun (: ) Yes, making the Pouncebuys keep only him. Yes, Alastair gathering information. Yes, Alastair fighting a guard.

The thing is I thought they killed/imprisoned Elias and let Alastair stay not-chained and they keep an eye on him.

I don't actually have a reason like he's a prisoner in his own castle but not imprisoned like his father (would make a weird needed conversation though..)

I'm saying this here because in the other version Alastair is all bloody, frantic, and in his flight or fight mode. Not royalty looking at all. Not fierce sophisticated look. Just pure WAR look. Which are both really cool so I don't know which I prefer

The reason is mostly my first thought of action course:

- Like in Ash Princess they met before the actual getting out. They get a plan on how to get him out. Also, the plot moves a bit faster but also a little less rushed. (in story)

- umm but in all honestly I prefer the idea of him not knowing about the secret attack, so he's like "Well I'll just knock this guard out and use secret passageways to move through the castle".

- The Pouncebuys find it funny to let Alastair go around the castle knowing it's not his anymore (only the castle though, he can't get outside the castle by sneaking because he still needs a distraction).

-We get to explore more the dynamics of people (noble and not) toward Alastair and the royal family, inside the castle, in the plot.

- better for snooping around than in prison

- I won't lie it's a bit devastating to me to think of all the trauma this boy gets from being beaten up just for fun. But I also... want the trauma. I want him to be so scared to die and never see his family again. I want him to cry or have nightmares at night and someone to comfort him because what he's been through is hell. I also want him to be happy his mother and sister didn't have to go through this.

- I just want him to have access to his beloved daggers and spears he hide in his room and be comforted by it (we don't question why. It's just that way)

Realize they are getting nothing

And come back to Alastair who is comoletley chained and still manages to look smug and completley prince like, as if he were still royal like

"I told you so"

But the thing is

What the pouncebuys decide to do is that he needs to give them information, and Alastair says that he only will if he stops the look for the princess and queen

Plays their own mysoginy against them like "Theyre just women, why would you waste all your energy on them"

They agree, make him tell them info (which like he does but they are all lies well crafted enough to believe)

That same evening the gather the twon before the castle

Make a public fool out of Alastair telling the people their own precious heir had ratted them out, and the rest of the family had escaped

To make them trust the pouncebuys

Also said that in punishment for the disloyalty every punishment anyoke who oposes them would receive

So. “An Innocent Sin” is a dumpster fire unlike anything I’ve ever seen. I don’t remember why I decided to read it. maybe I was crazy. Either way... I read it. I'm gonna start writing my entry now so that later I'm not too exhausted to actually TALK about stuff.

Yesterday Bee gave me a link to watch Supernatural on my computer so later tonight I probably will.

I'm in class right now, we just had a test on evolution (boring) and I studied some of the book State And Revolution by Lenin (I also took notes) (he's 100 percent correct by the way)

I just had a wonderful discussion with my friend on Instagram XD it was kinda funny. I dont have much else to say Yet. I'm having a coffee and listening to Samaris

Sometimes they argue and fight and shit and they yell at you yell at you Yell at you scare you into submission and fuck having angry parents is terrifying because they're suppsoed to protect you and be understanding and gentle with you, the child, the cattle of the shepard, the egg of the black goat... ESPEICALLY WHEN YOU ARE IN PAIN. Every time you cry they get angrier and angrier, every time you wear what u wanna wear they get angrier and angrier, every time you are ANYTHING OTHER THAN WHAT THEY WISH YOU WERE... they get angry. You start to feel like maybe they dont ACTUALLY love you. There is a disconnect between what you need and what you are given. What you see in media and what you see at home. You start to feel like shit.

Eventually you learn that if you dont want the head of your favourite stuffed animal twisted off or your sisters barbie doll thrown out the window in a moving car or to be verbally insulted or to have them do SCARY things like make moves toward you before they remember they aren't suppsoed to hit you and just punishment that's emotionally fucking damaging all those words that you remember years later but they don't, every time they tell you they wish you were dead.... you gotta be quiet. Shut up. Do as you're told and don't say a fucking WORD. good boy. Upset? Don't tell them. Don't cry in front of them. Say nothing. Maintain the illusion, it'll keep you safe.

Soon enough your entire life is a secret and you need therapy but can't get it and wow, I wonder why I'm like this? I fucking wonder.

Sometimes I feel like I never got to develop past a certain point in childhood. Maybe 5, 10, 3, 6, I dont fucking know. Over 2 and under 10. Like my brain is emotionally stuck there and all of my behaviour is stuck there too. Sometimes if shit hurts me in ANY WAY I just sorta allow the bad hurt to happen. I tell myself, endure. Stay quiet, don't say a word. I've trained myself this way and now it's hard to learn to be loud and talk to people and be my own self without being scared. And part of this... is why I appreciate my friends and JAY. Jay, who always makes sure I'm okay. And everyone I know who likes to drop into my messages every once in a while to see how I'm doing... everyone who never forgets about me.

Hold them in your hands as if they're these lovely little stones you found on the ground and put in your pockets cos they had cool stripes. Feel their WEIGHT. It's one of those things where it's so happy it's sad. It's so sad its happy. You're laughing and crying all at once and all you want is a hug. Because you can FEEL the human parts of you coming out, seeping out like a styro, starts off white then... blood. Humanity. I am vulnerable and exposed and I leave myself here.

I guess I'm still walking. But jesus christ. People affect me so much. So much. These memories, how it was cold or sunset or hot outside or nighttime and dark, how we were there as humans. I'd never be happier than in those little moments but you don't see it until years later. You don't see how important it was until you think of it and cry... fucking hell. Nils, Mark, Gabe, Max, James, Kyle, Liz,, every friend I've ever had. Nothing is better than music and memories because jesus christ I would've loved to have... died.

Died? No. My brain does this thing... I dont mean died. I guess I mean I wouldve liked to be frozen in those moments.

Sometimes I get a similar feeling. It's not the same, but its similar. This thing where you are so happy and grateful and sad because this is a tragedy and wow look. A happy moment in a tragedy. But jesus its happy enough and I want to cry because I really do appreciate the people who's lives cross paths with mine. I cry because I think of every little moment in which I knew that I wasnt alone and every little moment in which I felt their SOUL with mine and every little moment where my heart was touched... even unintentionally and in ways that dont make sense.

There was a girl, I'll call her Jade, I came out to her before anyone else. And sometimes, in the back of my head, I play that moment. In my mind. It was over fucking Skype. But I still felt it.

Oh man... I should proabably tell my coming out story. The story of how I came out to my parents. I was scared. I really was... but I felt like if I couldn't be ME, I couldn't live, or at least I didn't want to.

This was the song I played as I wrote a letter at... around this time actually, 3 or 4 am

I wrote it so spontaneously. I didn't even THKNK. I just wrote it. Because I was tired of crying myself to sleep every night and well... I had camp the next morning. That gave them a solid week or so to think about my letter... that would ensure they would be able to cool off whatever anger it would make them feel.

I wrote on one sheet of sketchbook paper front and back. I tried my best to explain. I tried my best. And that paper is stained with tears and still rests in my moms sock drawer

The whole thing got complicated after that... but in the end it worked out, with a lot of fucking work and persistence on my part.

Soemtimes I hope they look at it and cry themselves like how I did writing it.

Sometimes I just wish things were different. But they're not. I gotta deal with this.

But hey! Hey! We were happy earlier. Because... I dont kNow. I love everyone and I love the planet and i never want anyone to have to be hurt. Okay??? I love. Everyone.

Its hyperbole but still. I just want the best for everyone and I hate when other people are suffering cos it makes me upset. And. I don't know. I feel so... emotional right now. Like right now? I hope I can listen to his song and think of him and pull out every memory as perfectly as I can for everyone else. I just. I don't know. I see all these people in my mind, in flashes and it all comes flooding back to me. That isnt just a face. That was my friend and now they're gone. That was my friend and now? Not a word from them... that was my best friend and now its awkward. I don't want that anymore.. its painful. All of these people that have forgotten me years ago... who I still remember. Ouch. I dont know. I think I'm being dramatic because tlaking to Jay and being sleep deprived made me all mushy and then I listened to music. So.

Music makes everything feel so much more consuming but I cant live without it.

I'm just happy that I get to experience love.

Even if in the very end I am left alone... even if I'm tormented with memories of a happiness that can only be temporary,,,

Time was a very odd thing to consider. Never did you think that it would bring you to where you are now, that’s for sure.

You had known Hakuryuu the whole of his life. You knew him as the third prince of Kou before the fire that almost took his whole family. You were that constant person with him that helped him get through after his uncle and cousins took the place his father and brothers had. You had known his hatred for his mother—something he had confided in you—and how he wanted nothing more than to avenge his family. You had never been in agreement on that matter. Though you wanted her to pay for her part in the fires, you didn’t want hatred to fill his heart.

Hatred you couldn’t hope to cure. Not with the precious little thing that was growing inside of you—the little bit that grew out of the love you had for him and one that you hoped he still had for you. But in this frenzy and with Judar by his side with both anger and hatred corroding him, you didn’t know what to do. You just knew that staying wasn’t an option. 

So you left. It turned out to be the hardest decision you ever made. You didn’t leave a note, nor did you bother talking. He wasn’t the Hakuryuu you knew anymore. You could only hope that the precious boy and caring man you came to know would surface once he realized how what he was doing would only hurt one person.

You escaped to Kina before the civil war engulfed everything, hiding from were you originated rather easily. The island was quite friendly. King Takeruhiko was kind to you as well despite you being pretty sure that he figured out you were from Kou the instant he laid eyes on you. He didn’t bother asking questions. He instructed his people to give you a warm welcome; you supposed that as part of the Seven Seas Alliance, they were honor bound to take in refugees too. 

It was after you settled into your new home that would eventually house two that you heard from the Kinans about what became of the civil war. Hakuryuu had won and as punishment his brother, Kouen, would be executed. The others exiled, and his sister Kougyoku pardoned. Your heart ached knowing deep down that this would only leave his heart hollow. The hatred he harbored for so many years finally had done what you had fought so hard to avoid. It left him utterly alone.

You wanted to run to him. To assure him that, despite what he had done and that you didn’t agree with how he had approach things, that you still loved him. Hakuryuu would hear you out after all. He always did. And you would have had it not been for the child growing in you. After witnessing what he’d been capable of when overtaken like that, you couldn’t chance it. Not with the child.

So you kept your distance for three long years.

Until the day one rogue magi found you. Aladdin, now much older than the young magi you once knew, came to you out of the blue, you couldn’t believe it. He had been missing the past three years according to rumors along with a young Fanalis, Miss Morgiana, and Hakuryuu. That tad bit didn’t hit you until Aladdin mentioned that they would be staying in Kina and help it escape the reign that would come down on the world after Sinbad formed the International Alliance. Curiously enough, he had heard about you from Hakuryuu himself from the many stories he would tell them. 

After hearing of what became of Hakuryuu you breathed a sigh relief. He had undone the cycle of hatred on his own. He liberated his heart of it all. 

“He always spoke fondly of you,” he told you kindly. “And about how much he regretted never searching for you after you left Kou. Which is why I searched for you here when Uncle Takeru told me about a young Kou citizen that fled to his island before the civil war was waged. If you’d like, I would like for you to meet Hakuryuu again. The two of you.”

But now, given the chance to finally, finally meet him again, you faltered. Looking over to your little boy, just three years of age, playing about the expand of your home, you faltered. Questions rushed through your head like crazy. Would he be mad? Would he accept you? Would he love him?

Aladdin—bless his soul and kind heart—calmed all your worries.

“I’m sure he will love to see you again and meet him.”

You don’t know how those simple words convinced you, but they did. 

Aladdin took you to the palace and left you both in an empty room that the king had provided. There you waited and waited and waited until finally the door opened once more, this time to let in the one person you had loved the whole of your life.

You couldn’t believe how much he had changed in the span of three years and just how much he hadn’t at all. Almost instantly after recognizing you, without missing a beat, he rushed towards you and held you closely. It shocked you, honestly, to be taken so suddenly but when you felt his arms around you, the distinct smell of him, his warm breath against your cheek, you broke down crying. Despite having imagined this reunion so many times you never thought that the first thing you would do would be to cry. But you did, not out of sadness but from joy. Holding him closer for a moment longer, he finally separated from you long enough to take in your expression before pressing his lips against yours. You fell in tandem, rejoicing at how this still felt the same even after so many years.  

“No, mama, no!”

You sprung back at the hands of your little boy pulling you back. Both of you stood surprised at the little boy, a spitting image of his father, pouting and red-faced at the attention that his mother was getting from the strange man. 

He was as mad as Hakuryuu was confused. You decided this was as good a time as any to explain. Picking him, you cradled your boy in your arms and tried to explain one rather simple thing to the both of them at once. 

“It’s alright, my love. You see, this man is your papa.”

“My papa?”

“I’m his what?”

“You're his father, Ryuu.” Tears welled up again in yours eyes as you turned to Hakuryuu and smiled. “Yuu’s our son.”

im so fucking pissed and worried rn, my mom and sister are on vacation. and on my moms phone i downloaded instagram and logged into most of my accounts i own or co-own, around 4 to 5, all of them. so u know when you have multiple accounts insta just lets u save the info so u dont have to type in your password everytime right? i did that on my moms phone because nobody ever uses her phone except for me apart from her, she also doesnt use insta. So i have all my notifs on for all my accounts [1]

and while i was talking to my friends i found out that my aunt requested to follow me on my spam account. my aunt is also on vacation with them. i am NOT out to anybody but my closest friends. nobody knows i have a spam account except for my friends that im out to. i was so fucking confused as to how she found my spam account. my aunt doesnt follow people unless she knows them personally. so i went to check how she found me and apparently i was following her on my spam, which i dont ever [2]

remember doing. i dont follow any of my relatives or family on my spam account. My spam account is filled with all my personal and private stuff, me ranting about my problems, sexuality and shit. i went to check when i followed since i dont recall doing so. so i sorted my follows from latest and her account was the first, which means i followed her recently, right below her account was a page i followed just about 2 days ago, so if i followed her, i would have remember doing that.
