The Wolf Charmer: Chapter 16:
Don't have a name for this yet, but I'm just hoping I've finally got over this annoying bout of writers block
Taglist: @vvkingofgaybisciutsvv @thequeenofthewinter @thedevilshardy @mollybegger-blog @wandawiccan60 @cameleonhardyfan63 @inkwolvesandcoffee @potter-solomons
After a fleeting explanation to Rose, the brothers were off, running through the woods on all twelve paws. They weren't sure where they were going, but Howard and Jack figured Forrest would know when they got there. Leaves crunched, and twigs snapped under the black wolf's paws and stout legs as he boldly charged forward, in the lead, as always, and gracefully sailed over a dead fall tree that snapped in half and left part of the trunk remaining upright, not pause nor slip up in his stride as he landed. Jack, being thinner and not as burly as his older brothers, threaded his body through the gap between what was left of the top of the tree and its base, that was just barely wide enough for him to fit through with mere inches between his white fur and the wood. Howard, however, was stopped dead in his tracks by not timing his jump right and running his chest straight into the log, causing him to stumble back and cough as an aftershock or maybe a vague attempt to restart his jarred innards and reclaim his breath, He sat down for a moment, shaking his head to clear his senses before opting to tread around the tree and catch up with his younger and admittedly more agile brothers.

I see now you’ve already started it explain your WIP to me anyway 😍 I’m very excited for it
*whoosh*
Well, the whole idea came about because I constantly talk my saint of a husband's ear off about how I feel Nesta was wronged in ACOSF. How she did so many good things throughout the series and how, just because she doesn't fit into the IC's version of a good person, she is vilified.
I got thinking about the defining moment that we all know but was almost forgotten; Nesta journeying to the Wall to get Feyre.
Add this to the fact that I resonate with Nesta deeply as I had a similar (not so drastic, but low-key kinda) upbringing to her and my family was/is healing from horrid individuals that shaped the developmental stages of my and my brother's lives.
I wanted a story that took a look into the mind of Nesta during the time that the glamour failed to fool her but also to dive deeper into what was hinted at in ACOSF. Her mother and grandmother raised her and the lasting effects of that. Also, how did Nesta convince the mercenary to take her? What was that journey like? What was the mindset that Nesta had when she failed to get through the Wall? This tickled my brain and my husband was like "Why don't you write it?"
So that's how it came about and what it will be about, in a nutshell 😅 thanks for asking!

hey, I love your blog, your analysis and your opinions about the konoha foundation, I'm a madara enthusiast 😅
I have some doubts, one in particular bothers me! why did madara attack konoha, what did he really want, did he want to kill hashirama? anyway if you can comment on this one day, thankss😆
Oh yeah the more Madara-obsessed the better for humanity 😆! Join the premium club wagon💖
But you know what? I'm not sure either about his true intentions, because we don't have his POV, I can only make conjectures. And it's really important, remember the Pain's case. The first time he nukes Konoha we all thought : OMG SUCH A %&$🤬!!!!! And then when Pain/Nagato explains what Konoha did to Ame village it was like…yeah he got valid points to be mad !😅
However one thing is certain : If Madara attacks Konoha, only Hashirama is capable to defend the village. Yet Madara needs to get Hashirama's cell to awaken the Rinnegan, which will later summon the Genzo statue, and to collect the bijuus ect. ect... to realise the infinite Tsukuyomi.
So far Madara lost against Hashirama even with the Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan that Izuna gave him. In his logic, he needs more power to beat Hashirama. That's why he attacks him again using for the first time Kyuubi. But was it really to destroy Konoha? or was it to be sure Hashirama will show up? Because we need to remember that what motivate Madara is always the protection of the Uchiha clan. I talk a bit further about it here
Tumblr media
This being said, let's enter the speculations theories : sure Madara has a masterplan, but Madara is still a human being with human emotions. He had every reasons to both advance his plan and destroy konoha in the same time. The village and at his head the Senju clan and their will of fire philosophy took him everything he got : all his brothers, his clanmen's trust, his reputation (remember he lost for the first time against Hashirama). From his personal perceptive, he made huge sacrifice for the village, he swallowed his desire for revenge against Tobirama, he trusted Hashirama which is a very difficult thing to him, he accepted to reconnect their old friendship. In a nutshell, He put himself in a very vulnerable position and in return he was again betrayed in his back (Senjus conversation about the hokage position and the Uchiha supposed curse). So I'm thinking if Izuna was the most precious to Madara, Konoha was the most precious to Hashirama (sorry Tobirama sorry Mito...😬). There is a song saying : hurt people hurt people. What a better way to make Hashirama pays than destroying what he cherishes the most? And that will join the databook statement :
"Madara’s hatred was split between (two entities): Hashirama, because of his incompatible dreams, and also towards the village of Konoha. He then unfolded [incidents] upon Hashirama by attacking the village on multiple occasions."
notice that they precise the incidents were especially directed toward Hashirama. He feels also that it was on purpose :
Tumblr media
Let me add that Madara loves challenging Hashirama. I have to insert this article on why men and even more martial artist bonds throught rough and tumble play (thanks @kosmickash btw) Madara proves it during the 4th shinobi war, while his timing was really tight, he didn't resist fighting Hashirama a last time before launching the Infinite Tsukuyomi. So maybe... attacking Konoha and provoking Hashirama in battle was the only time he could feel some joy since the rest of his life was void and loneliness.
Tumblr media
this fan translation is a bit extreme, in the official manga translation I got he said : "I can't wait to compete against you"
But lastly there is also the Konoha propaganda, I share it for the sake of sharing but none of them are pertinent since they come from Professional liar number 1 Itachi and Professional liar number 2 Obito. Both of them mix informations to serve their own interest : influence Sasuke to act a certain way.
For Itachi
Tumblr media
Obito who at least heard the story from Madara himself but still modify it depending of his own plan.
Tumblr media
I think I've alluded to all hypothesis, up to your own sensibility to incline to some ideas. in my opinion Madara at this moment of his life was torn between two sides : instauring a real peace and being the most powerful one. The run for power and the thrill of competition was starting to take over his first principle. It is shown many times in the serie than when he's focus on a battle or a goal nothing counts anymore but winning. He's the perfect definition of fire element, he doesn't care that his destroying landscapes and people's life along his way as long as he reaches his objective. So it's maybe possible that even if he actually wants to protect his clan, paradoxically he engages himself in situation that put all of them in grave danger. Old age seems to have teach him some wisdom :

the eclipse fics in a nutshell
sleepless eyes, closed to light: oddly tender, pho is sexy, slightly heartbreaking
devil’s dance: fog, marty friedman made into a vampire anyone?, gay omegaverse
venus in furs: louie in gloves louie in gloves louie in gloves louie in gloves louie in gloves louie in gloves louie in gloves louie in gloves louie in gloves louie in gloves louie in gloves louie in gloves louie in gloves louie in gloves
angel’s trumpet: vampire alex, doing it on the floor, turning blue, “good boy”
frangipani: invitation to the woods, joey is into bdsm… turned a lot of type o headcanons sideways… heh hehe hoho 😅
the cuckoo clock: alex is soft, coupl’a boys doing it doggy style before breakfast
mise en abyme: my insecurity over sex toys put into a humorous perspective, mark accidentally gets into it
dreaming of you: alex’s full, soft voice put to sensual use whilst ensconced in velvet and the black of night. eric is also hungry.
diamonds and guns: FUCKING EPIC, there’s a car accident and then alex gets a stripper pole, leather teddies, and body glitter. chuck also says probably my favorite thing i’ve written in a fic ever, “you sexy little matzo ball.”
suicide blonde: eric and florence confessing and getting hammered. bah-BOOM!
camera obscura: lily nicks the skol-camera and takes a bunch of naughty pics to surprise alex and it goes oh so wrong. rob gets some “free porn”, too 😂
monolith: alex brushing his hair in the mirror and being a bad boy 👀
my girlfriend’s girlfriend: hot metal and superheated water, a sex bot?, two girls and a bad plan that will lead to saving alex. sounds like a lost wayans brothers movie and what i get for growing up in the 2000s
the moth: lily hiding in the closet and watching her kid sister nibble on a couple of filipino boys. good lord that sounds wrong 😆
covalent bonds: i shit you the fuck not, the idea for that one came to me in the middle of the night as i was falling asleep. i described it as “terry gilliam directed a sex in the city episode only way more gay”
tiny bubbles: alex taking a bath and francine just waltzes right in to use the toilet. discussion about feeling gross and dirty in the genitalia. the real tension exists with them, after all (and also alex and eric).
magic stick: eric and a pregnant florence hiding in an extra large coffin in a mortuary from killer robots. this one is weirdly wholesome?
night of the witch: two words: slutty alex.
rattlesnake shake: krista missing joey because she will always love him and alex thinking of krista because he wants someone to love him.
bailar conmigo: joey and alex doing a very vague dirty dancing homage (i somehow managed to avoid using “nobody puts baby in the corner”)
basil hallward blues: a roundabout reference to dorian gray, with joey being dorian gray and chuck being basil but also lord henry (like blood from a stone is an odd little homage to dorian gray, because i love that book so much)
effets de soir: alex is by himself and peter calls, and thus ensues a very interesting conversation (i also unpacked some more type o headcanons, probably for good this time, that tag is awful quiet right now 😅)
disciples of the watch: remember that episode of family guy where lois gets fat and peter wants her fatter (or that episode of malcolm in the middle where lois gets fat and hal wants her fatter)? yeah… 😏
cosa del pantano: a de facto double date in yosemite and probably the weirdest shoutout to gary paulson’s hatchet books known to man.
fresh deadly roses: alex resisting the urge to screw chuck silly… while lilian is sound asleep right there right next to him. king diamond’s fairies also may or may not be aphrodisiacs.
man of golden words: the eerie inhabitants ‘verse set in the mid-2000s, with flip phones and everything. need i say more 😜
the sensual world: slutty alex, meet slutty jeff.
blood for poppies: t.s.o. era alex sans the t.s.o. part. featuring an eclipse!
last day in paradise: sending up a similar thing with disciples, but in tahoe. also jeff is on a bicycle and being a good boy for alex 👀
summer in the city: alex is so cold from his state of undeath that lily wants to play with his thermostat- that is the worst thing i’ve ever said, what’re you doing?
dust in the wind: shirtless joey, alex in tight jeans and showing his tummy so much love, pumpkins, candy, a tiny knife, and a big ass nod to the exorcist. any questions?

Because i feel like i sent a Lot of Percy songs, here is one i think really fits Vex, especially pre canon - Dead Inside by Younger Hunger (personally i prefer the Acoustic Version) This especially just Hits me: I'm all talk with a thorn in my side I got a real big heart that I'm willing to hide You ask me what I want from life, I said to Make a lotta money and feel dead inside Oh and also of course All The Right Moves by OneRepublic is just. Syngorn in a nutshell And Talk by Coldplay could really fit Vex & Vax (bonus angst points for it being after the finale or for this being for Percy as well. Or Cass. oh shit I'm making myself sad) Oh brother, I can't, I can't get through I've been trying hard to reach you 'cause I don' know what to do Oh brother, I can't believe it's true I'm so scared about the future, and I wanna talk to you Oh, I wanna talk to you
🥺🥺 And in general i dunno if you'd be interested but I do have a playlist I made for Percy/Vex as characters and as a ship in my pinned post (and a few other CR playlists on spotify, i Might be addicted to making playlists. just a bit), however this one admittedly did get way too long and out of hand oops. I just love them too much (also sorry i did send a lot of these now jksdfjksdf 😅)
ooooo I just added your playlist! Your suggests have been great so far, I can’t wait to listen to it!
And you’re totally right about Dead Inside it is literally the perfect Vex song. I got a real big heart that I'm willing to hide :(((((
And yess All the Right Moves
Let's paint the picture of the perfect place They got it better than what anyone's told you
I know things are looking up, but soon they'll take us down Before anybody's knowin' our name
They say everybody knows, everybody knows where we're goin' Yeah, we're goin' down
oh my god Talk already gives me so many feelings but now I have even more

So I have a question but I don't know if it's a topic you're going to address later in From this Earth, as it is a character study of sorts as you said, so feel free to ignore it. But anyway! What's Kks's take on It*chi? From subordinate to the murderer of Ob*to's clan to his student's torturer, Kks knows It*chi, he had a first access to him, however brief and without all the info, I'm sure he must think something about him...
Ooo an interesting question, thank you! Yes, it will come up in the fic! I personally don’t dislike It*chi really so that might colour my hcs.
My general hc around this: In a nutshell I think he’s just heartbroken over how it all turned out for the clan and the brothers. I think behind the scenes there was more to him and the clan, there must have been a lot of tension with the eye, I hc that F*gaku, although not pleased about it, was actually kind of sympathetic to him and there’s a flashback scene in the fic that will go into that time of Kks’s life. Also he’s the last of his clan, and while his clan didn’t come to their end in such a terrible manner, it’s a loneliness he doesn’t wish on anyone.
I think Kks isn’t one to judge very quickly because he’s got bloody hands too. So I don’t see him just thinking he’s evil but I do think he’d be distraught about it. I kind of see him being not just hurt but guilty about It*chi’s role in the massacre, thinking he should have seen something was off. I think he would feel rather torn about it all, on one hand thinking there must have been some other way and hating the pain Sas was made to go through after he gets to know him especially, and wanting to hate It*chi for it. On the other hand he relates to the kind of impossible situation and responsibility put on him, both being these prodigies, these most reliable tools for the village and knowing how hard it can be to be in between two things like that. And I mean Ob*to also actively took part in the massacre so I think any anger on Kks’s part would be on Sas’ behalf. But he’s honestly not someone who stews in anger from what we’ve seen. And he also knows that despite everything Sas still loves his brother more than anything else and has forgiven him, so who is he to feel differently? I think he would feel sorry for them both.
Mostly I think it would make him more cognizant as a Kage based on his character traits, and though the truth wasn’t put out publicly in canon I don’t think it’s something he’d ever let himself forget and that goes for in my fic too. I thought it strange and frankly bad storytelling to let the truth get buried like that which is why I addressed it more in the fic than canon did postwar.
Idk if all that rambling answered your question but I hope it did 😅🤍
