More clothing studies, this time from my fic Axis. I was aiming for authenticity while also trying to have each of their personalities show a little bit in their clothing choices. Two for Nicky, to show his layers.

i finally got around to centaurworld's finale and holy fucking shit??? they can go that hard??

#god i cannot put into words just how fantastic that finale was #it just makes me so... disappointed that the rest of s2 was so boring #like i had to rewatch s1 when it came out before i could actually appreciate it because its so far from my kind of thing #BUT THE FINALE FELT LIKE IT WAS AN ENTIRELY DIFFERENT SHOW? And it was RLLY GOOD #that last episode practically carried this season holy fuck.#the nowhere king is such an amazing villain and i am just so confused .#i wishhh s2 focused more on picturing the past for us and answering s1 questions and maybe even developing characters like the princess #(where did she even go actually i didnt see her in that last scene)#because i still have questions about some things but they come from a place of pure interest in the world only because of this last episode #girl i dont know how to word this at all. i feel like we couldve had something great #anyway s1 is fun as an introduction to the show s2 is boring because i expected more answers about the past and im not #as interested in the centaurs anymore but i liked the main casts backstories i guess and the finale was pretty amazing all around #this show just keeps bouncing around for me lol. also it feels like the cast had so much fun with it. i wouldve too! love that

Every time I listen to that song, it reminds me of how Aya views her relationship with Khalan. after some time - and especially after he starts showing signs of illness - Aya realizes that things are changing in their lives and doesn't want to accept those changes.

so she wants to hold onto the past; the way things were before - when their familial relationship only first started to blossom. when she wasn't afraid of what the future might hold or afraid of potentially losing Khalan. when things were fun and new and the responsibilities of growing older didn't weigh down so much on her.

I tried to portray that sort of 'moment of reflection' with this image, loosely basing it off of this particular entry in Khalan's Journal: a moment that's both serene and comforting, yet somber at the same time. but despite those complicated emotions that Aya is struggling to deal with, Khalan always does his best to give her the love and support that she needs to help her through it, as every good big brother should;;

gosh I love these two so, so much;; everything about them gets me right in the feels every time <3

"so much practice at the mechanically challenging bits" can I ask what exactly you mean with this? :o like do you just mean you've written so much in your life that your skill comes from a lot of practice, or are there specific things you did to hone your craft? I'm super curious, your writing are such goals!

Nope, that's exactly what I meant! My AO3 account looks like I just jumped in and started spawning writing with a hugely popular 60k word fic with the advent of the pandemic in 2020 but the reality is that I spent 5-ish years before that writing countless hundreds of thousands of words in Homestuck fantroll multi-paragraph style RP, none of which was done with any specific goal other than to have fun.

Literally just doing the writing makes it easier to do more writing in the future! I don't need to fish around for vocabulary ideas as much, structuring sentences and scenes to achieve a specific effect is second nature because I've already done it before, being able to get into the heads of multiple characters in a scene is WAY easier now than it used to be, etc, etc. It literally just takes less effort because I have a large bank of "I've done this before!" to draw from.
