Peter Parker has always been my Boy. As someone who read the comics first, to find out that most comics purists hated MCU spidey was so surprising to me, because while there are Many problems with the MCU adaptation of Spider-Man (many of them revolving around Tony Stark, yes) I still think that MCU Peter has the Essence?

MCU Peter dies and walks it off. Gets a building dropped on him and walks it off. Almost gets shot point-blank and walks it off??? To log into tumblr.com for the first time in many, many years and see MCU spidey largely regarded as some uwu, noob of a character was cognitive dissonance.

Until. I read a few fics! And suddenly it all made sense.

I still don't trust comics fans who hate MCU Peter for uwu reasons simply because that isn't Him, and that can be true while also being annoyed at the way fannish works have bred this misconception of who MCU Peter is.

Writing MCU Peter into a world where he calls Tony Stark "dad" or calls the other Avengers to come save him at the drop of a hat is not illegal. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions and interpretations of media, but I PERSONALLY believe it's a disservice to Peter Parker's character to file down his nails and teeth because doing so erases not only his competence and tenacity but also! His flaws!

Most (I'm sure there are exceptions but I'm yet to see them) of these worlds created to showcase MCU Peter Parker as a soft li'l bean do not allow Peter to keep his ego, selfishness, or even his optimism? He is a "perfect" little child, a kid with a boatload of trauma but whose coping mechanisms have been changed from kicking the shit out of criminals to??? cuddling?? on the couch??

It does not make sense. To me. In MY mind palace. Peter Parker is a fascinating character (and has been since his conception decades ago) in large part BECAUSE of his flaws. To take them away leaves a character who is boring, flat, and also... Not Peter Parker lmao.

And on TOP of this, to have hate directed at MCU Peter not because of how he's actually portrayed but because of how fandom has massacred him and to see how that hate gets translated into cries that the MCU has "ruined spider-man," or is "the worst spider-man adaptation" when it's the only Spider-Man adaptation to feature POC in really any sense, and especially as Peter's friends/love interests/supporting characters? side EYE.

I love me some media critique! I am a believer that Disney made so many Wrong choices with the MCU, with Spider-Man in particular. But so much MCU Spider-Man critique is actually fandom critique without being labeled as such, and it has an effect on attitudes regarding characters who are portrayed by POC. MCU Spider-Man doesn't do right by its POC lmao, but fandom's psdeudo-straw man hatred of MCU Spidey Isn't Helping.

All this to say, I avoid teen!Peter now in fics now unless I recognize/trust the author, and MCU critique is only as good as the author's understanding of the actual MCU versus fandom's portrayal of it.

Me yapping about something that happened on TF2 today

I was playing casual TF2 with a friend now that there aren't as many bots (I SUCK like REAL BAD, so no way we're going to community servers, I would get OBLITERATED the second I stepped on one, also a lot of players on community servers dislike F2Ps for existing) and found a player who shares names with my light and it was really awesome

I legally cannot answer this.

#1. Bi-Han, aka Sub-Zero/Noob Saibot. He was bae to me from before I could even comprehend how to play video games.

#2. Kane. (I'm not sure if this counts? bc he's technically a wrestler) but he's a wrestler from an era where kayfabe was a thing that existed and wrestlers did their best to maintain it.

#3. Jadeite from Sailor Moon. I can't really explain why? Maybe it's bc he's usually ignored by fandom and when he is acknowledged, he's grossly mischaracterized and unjustly hated. I will love him more than any one could ever hate him.

#4. Captain Jean-Luc Picard. Riker literally gave up the powers of the Q just bc Picard disapproved. Can you imagine?? His hypothetical opinion matters more to me than most irl people lmao.

#5. Free Space. Idk, I just have too many favs, so anyone could be in this place, and tbh, barring Bi-Han, any one of the characters above could move around to make room for whoever the current hyperfixation of the season is. so here are some your turn to die opinions and if you agree with them i'd love to be your homie! i promise i have lots of headcanons and goofy jokes and badly constructed essays.

spoilers for your turn to die up to 3-1b!

my top favorite characters of all time are reko, nao, kai, and jou! honorable mentions are kanna, gin, q-taro, sara, and shin!

i'm honestly not a massive fan of any of the floor masters or dolls in 3-1 purely because i feel like i didn't get the chance to know them well. it's a real shame too because i think they're super cool! just not quite fleshed out enough to my liking. i'm hoping we at least learn more about the floor masters in the finale because they have the potential to be so interesting!

i don't really like shipping in your turn to die, i kinda think it's unnecessary (though i don't hate on people who do ship!), but if i had to pick a ship i like, it would be reko x nao! i think it could be cute, and they have a lot of sweet moments in the game!

my favorite part of your turn to die to play is hands down 2-1. those attractions are so much fun! and all the mystery is insane, the part with the fake mishima ai was INSANEE. i also really liked 3-1 because of the part where you use the lantern to uncover people's memories about hiyori and asu-naro. it was so cool to get a glimpse of people's pasts!

to be honest i'm kind of a noob so i can never get it straight which route is logic is which is emotion (even though it's probably really obvious), but my favorite route is the one where kanna and reko live! i watched a playthrough of a route where shin lives but i didn't really like it as much, even though it was interesting to see that side of it!

this isn't really an opinion, just a confession, but i'm really dumb and really bad at the logic stuff so i lowkey thought it was impossible to save reko for the first like three years of playing the game...i figured it out though!

i've never once used a walkthrough to figure out your turn to die, i've always just used my own brain to figure things out. maybe...uh...maybe in hindsight, that's why it took me so long to figure out how to save reko...

the only character in the entire franchise that i genuinely dislike is keiji. i just think he's kinda creepy and off-putting (though that might be in part due to translation errors)? also i'm lesbian so i don't really find him hot i think he just looks like a muscly piece of popcorn.

in terms of my opinion on who the "mastermind" is i actually have literally no idea? the only idea i kind of have is that it's either sara or keiji because they're the only two who we don't get to see how they signed the asu-naro vow. but i also don't really get how it would be either of them because keiji was a victim of hiyori's tricks too, and sara just seems totally clueless. it makes my brain hurt to think about so i kinda choose not to.

i think the "gin is the mastermind" theory is mind-bogglingly stupid. sorry LMAO-

i think the theory of jou being the son of mr. policeman is actually super cool! i don't really know why it exists but i've seen people talking about it and i think that would be a cool connection.

i've read a few things about the referendum theory and i think it's a cool theory! it kinda make sense, though there are a few holes that i can't logic my way through quite yet. it seems very plausible though, and it would make for an interesting plot!

i don't think shin is overrated at all. he's a super interesting character and i love how he contributes to the story, and all the twists about him are so unique and exciting! i do hate when people water him down to like a soggy little man who's super weak and innocent, though. the coolest thing about him is his fortitude!

in case it wasn't obvious, i am on team "q-taro is the goat", especially after 3-1b. even after accidentally getting the ending where q-taro abandoned all of us i was like "okay but that was lowkey cunty af of him..." i've always been on homie q-taro's side and i also think it's hilarious that he's like supposed to be an american stereotype.

Comfort Streamer

Part Three: Ruinforfun

When a sick Dream goes searching for a stream to watch. He stumbles across a viewerless stream and decides to join, finding a new comfort streamer for himself and others and maybe play a little matchmaker in the process.

After the slight disaster of a stream you had sat down to dinner with your roommate to try and figure out how to continue with everything. There was quite a bit to do considering the fact you had gone from 7 viewers to about 1 million. A lot of things needed to be figured out. 

“It was bound to happen eventually. Now we just have to figure out how to handle it. You already have people sending in Mod applications or something like that so then all you have to do is go through them. So the only thing that really needs to be figured out is how you're going to separate the CCs from everyone else and who’s going to mod it.” Ry stated, pointing her fork at you.

“I mean, I could do a discord group and have it next to chat on my monitor and I could make a private twitter for them if I really wanted but like you said. Who’s going to mod it? I don’t want to risk anyone making them feel anything but normal.” That was the part that kept tripping you up. You had worked so hard to try and make them feel normal and you weren’t going to stop but now it would be harder 

“Do mod interviews? I feel like that's something you should be able to do? But then again I know little to nothing about this.” 

“Could you mod it? I know you don’t really know anything about discord or twitch and I’ll help you learn it! There's always youtube too! I know you’d treat them normally! Please!”

“You know Y/n, sometimes I really hate you!”

In so maddddd at my self I found a shortcut through Elysion Boulevard Entrance that cuts out half of the automatons that I was killing at first like ugh. 2. Jade - yeah so I've been in love with Jade for years lmao, though I don't feel like she's ever really been done justice. She's a very likable and fun character tho, they just need to figure out how to give her a story that's her own so she can be more than just Kitana's Friend or, unfortunately now, Kotal's Girlfriend 🤮 (I hate that stupid retcon sorry not sorry)

1. Kitana and Sub-Zero - yes they are both number one idc. Absolutely love their stories and development, I've always been really fond of ice powers for some reason... really I think Sub-Zero might be the reason lmao. As I've said, the Spine Rip did something to my brain. And Kitana's weapons and fighting style is SO cool and pretty. Also they both need a fucking break NRS let good things happen to them for once challenge

SMT fans who say you’re not a real fan if you play on easy are so funny to me. Like yeah buddy, go have fun getting 20 xp per battle when you need about 80000 to level up. It’s not strategy if you’re just under leveled. Noob filter bosses are weird too. Like yes, it’s important to have an early roadblock so the players learn how to utilize the tools the game gives you, but also, give them a hint first??? It’s like throwing a baby into the deep end and expecting it to learn how to swim because “That’s how I did it” like everyone plays games differently, and you shouldn’t be toxic to new players to filter out the “Casual scum”. Like legitimately bosses like beldr just rub me the wrong way.

I have anon off on my blog and it's never not amusing how Hellers and AAs don't have the balls to come at me then lmao it's easy to be brave on anon. One could say takes one to know one, but in my case I don't send anon hate. Rather I use the anon feature on the blogs to support the likes of you against these haters. Stay cool. I am just having fun on the last day of the year 😂 I will probably turn these off tomorrow. My blog was just for storing GIFs and not for my personal frustrations or opinions. I used to scream in the void on my private twitter with just 1 follower who is my best friend in the fandom. But I deleted my private accounts there and only kept my main. And then someone sent me asks and said to answer them but not to post the question and so I opened anon asks just to see what happens cause I'm a Tumblr noob. But still it was pretty quiet in here. And then I was busy and got away from the fandom for a little bit and I guess I forgot how AAs are? I made the mistake of indulging my nostalgia about my love for Jensen and his music and made the mistake of praising him and now they are treating me like the only entertainment outlet in their loveless lives 😂😂😂 it's pretty freaking hilarious.

I'm aware it might look like a noob did it, cuz I am one. I was never in a casino, I literally just know how to play poker and that's it. I looked up for real maps for refs. Also, is the scale right? Probably not. But hey, it's fiction, I gotta stop being perfectionnist in realism someday haha. (Meanwhile, I started a map of a city for another project, scaled to the meter. The file is heavy af, my laptop hates me lmao.)
