Elle woods propaganda time??!?!?
Aight listen. Barbie may be an Iconic Pink Girl, but she did not start out this way. Barbie started off as a black and white girl in 1959 with her striped swimsuit! Her primary color didn’t become pink until the 70’s.
Elle woods, however, was pink from the START! It’s also an essential representation of not only her character in the movie, but a symbol of female empowerment and what the movie stands for as a whole. While yes, Barbie has made moves in more recent years (and arguably some further in the past) to stand for female empowerment, Legally Blonde is THE iconic female empowerment movie and brings a whole new badass association to the color pink.
Imagine two girls in two pink themed outfits: to compare her to Barbie is to call her cute and fashionable, but to compare her to elle is to call her, cute, fashionable, and BADASS! (not to say Barbie is not also badass- but remember the aforementioned stronger themes of female empowerment). Elle also paved the way for many women to be inspired and empowered to either pursue or keep pursuing their law careers despite it being something of a “boys club”, including THIS iconic woman:
She literally started an all-pink, all-female law firm of her own where she and her partners were free to be badass lawyers who were ALSO feminine- making waves in a traditionally male, conservatively dressing profession!
And she’s only one of many other female lawyers and professional women Elle inspired!
Tl;dr, Elle had a more profound and impactful effect on bringing empowerment to the color pink and femininity as a whole, something women are/were often thought lesser of for expressing. While Barbie has had some similar effects, her dolls have also had a good amount of negative effects on young girls/women as well (although that’s been turning around lately, woohoo!). Elle has been strictly KEEPING IT POSITIVE (oh yeah, did I mention she has an iconic and absolute BANGER of a musical? Stream Legally Blonde rn).
Anyways, ELLE SWEEP pls i need her to win i care her SO MUCH. GN.

i like to think, as a hc or a theory (because it’s definitely possible), that charles has had a few kisses throughout his high school years, sure, but past that he’s undeniably a virgin– well, kind of undeniably, because I think he’d deny it if found out by trying to use technicalities (“I mean that one time there was friction involved–“), but to any reasonable person, and by occult standards (see: edwin being a virgin sacrifice), he’s a virgin.
and i think this because it seems like him to fib about his level of experience (like he did when agreeing he’d sleep with crystal, matching her level of casualness about it) when in the presence of people who do, actually, have experience, in the hopes he doesn’t come off as lame or childish. given what we know about his “friends” when he was alive, they seem like the type to have teased or bullied boys– especially in their own circle– who haven’t gotten laid, or at the very least would’ve thought less of someone for it. and given what we know about charles, i don’t think he’d be nearly as sleazy and inconsiderate as his group when it comes to landing girls with the primary intention of adding to his body count. and considering he’s only supposed to be 16? and has never mentioned any significant relationships pre-death? it just seems unlikely.
all that to say– I can see him maintaining that facade of experience and confidence literally right up until the moment it matters, and in the heat of the moment getting nervous and embarrassed because “uhhh. so I may have been exaggerating some things.” though he’s not totally clueless either, I think it’d take a bit of a soft heart to heart moment for him to be reassured enough that he won’t fuck up and hurt his partner to go any further.
anyway not sure what the relevance of this is, but it’s something.

The fallout show isn’t NOT anticapitalist, but it’s anticapitalist in that way that a lot of recent media goes for, where it makes vague gestures towards ideas like ‘There Is Wealth Inequality, Perhaps’, or ‘maybe a few dozen people having more money than god Isn’t A Good Thing, Actually’. But ultimately it kinda just tiptoes around commenting on anything systemic by offloading the blame onto its shadowy cabal of the ultra-rich, and turning the wastelander underclass into a constant running joke that the audience is expected to laugh along at. Which like. Fine. That’s honestly more than I was expecting I guess. But bad-appling fallout feels like missing the point extra hard, given how much it absolves the US of its role in everything, up to and including literal nuclear armageddon

any recovery tip for someone's who's deep in the "I need to starve myself" trenches? thanks <3
i have so many things i could offer up as advice but if im being honest, the heart of it all comes back to something that feels pretty infuriating to hear. unfortunately, it’s not easy, but it is simple.
you have to eat.
you have to hear your body telling you it’s hungry, whatever that looks like for you (craving something, feeling it in your stomach, shakiness, whatever it is), and feed yourself. you have to feed yourself. even when your body doesn’t know how to communicate to you that you’re hungry. you have to prove your brain wrong over and over. you have to show yourself that you don’t need to be afraid. you have to show up and nourish your body and take care of it with consistency. food has to come first, above all. frankly, there isn’t any time for nuance about that while you are mid-starvation. you have to eat.
it’s painful and it hurts and it’s terrifying, but you have to do it. it may even be the most scary challenging thing you ever have to do. but ultimately, being anxious and hurt and terrified is survivable. your eating disorder should you continue to choose it, isn’t.
