Blanca and Roberto, “You are what’s important now.”

So this takes places when Roberto and Blanca are older teenagers-young adults and aren't dating yet

Roberto was kicking the ball at full speed. Ten meters. Five meters. Two. He jumped, but instead of reaching the hoop he felt the ground come closer and a sharp scream force its way out of his chest as he fell.

"Roberto!"

He pulled his right leg to his chest, closed his eyes shut and pursed his lips to stop another scream of pain.

"Roberto are you okay?" He felt a hand on his arm and slowly opened his eyes.

"Blanca?" He wheezed through gritted teeth. "I had no idea you're in Avalor City?"

"And I had no idea your ankle has healed already." There was a reproach hidden behind her eyes and in her voice that made Roberto's gaze fall to the ground.

"It was better," he mumbled, knowing there was no fooling her.

"Oh so you decided to make it worse again?" She snapped.

Roberto didn't answer. Blanca sighed.

"Can you stand up?"

Roberto hesitated.

"Sure I can, I just... need to catch my breath. I'll be right up. And back to the training," he said finally, not looking her in the eye.

Blanca shook her head.

"Stay here - and don't move." She shot him a warning glance and ran out of the stadium.

Roberto waited a moment and once he was sure she couldn't see or hear him anymore, he let out a loud groan and fell to his back. He was still clutching his ankle and he could already feel it swelling up. He let out another shaky breath and wanted to shout in pain and frustration - but the only words coming to his mind weren't ones he wanted to risk Blanca hearing.

Suddenly he perked up, hearing her come back, and tried to stand up.

"Wait!" She called, runnimg up to him. She gave him her hand to help him catch his balance and then gave him a long, thick branch. "Here, I know it's no crutches but it should do for now."

"Thanks." Roberto sent her a smile.

"Now come on, I'll walk you home," she continued.

"But-" Roberto wanted to argue but Blance had already picked up her bag, she dropped earlier to help him, and started towards the gate. He shook his head and sighed (to hide his smile). He picked up his ball and as quickly as he could, limped her way - he knew any resistance was pointless anyway.

Once he caught up to her, Blanca slowed down, so he wouldn't strain his leg even more, and for a long while they walked in silence. Finally she spoke up again.

"So are you going to tell me why did you suddenly become so stupid or do you want me to guess?" She kept her gaze locked on the road before them, but Roberto could feel that she was irritated.

He chuckled to let the edge down a little.

"Ouch, stupid, really?" He tried to take on his best pained expression - although it's not like he wasn't actually in pain. "You know an olaball player must always keep in shape."

"In shape?!" Blanca stopped and faced him. "And what shape is that? One legged cripple?!"

Alright, maybe she was more than irritated.

"Oh come on, there's a match in a few months, I just wanted to practice a few new tricks."

Blanca didn't answer but her eyes were saying more than she would dare to say out loud, and he, for one, was glad she didn't.

Roberto looked at the ground.

"Come on Blanca, you know I can't let down my team..." he added quietly.

"And you think you'll be of much help if you won't be able to even walk?" There was still an edge in her voice but it had regained some of its usual softness. "Who cares about the match," she put a hand to his chest. "You're what's important now."

She quickly took her hand back when she noticed a bright red blush on Roberto's face - probably equal to her own.

"Your team would probably say the same," she said adjusting her bag on her shoulder. "Now come on, we need to take you home"

Roberto stood frozen for a moment more before shaking his head and picking up his limping pace to keep up with her.

"Hmm you know I'll probably need some first aid too..." he said with a wide grin.

I won't lie, that was difficult XD But I think it came out quite well and I might even have a little better idea for their relationship now...

You nodded, your nerves easing slightly at his comforting words. You trusted Joshua completely, knowing that he wouldn't steer you wrong.

When you arrived at the familiar house, Joshua's parents greeted you two with warm smiles and open arms. You immediately felt enveloped in their hospitality, and Joshua couldn't help but feel a surge of pride as he watched you interact with his family.

Throughout the evening, Joshua found himself falling in love with you all over again. He was captivated by the way you laughed at his father's jokes, the way you helped his mother in the kitchen, and the way you fit seamlessly into his family.

you told him about it before you moved in with him, then reminded him of the fact a few minutes before you two went to bed.

you didn't really like to cuddle while you slept.

you changed positions a lot while you slept, especially during nights where you found it hard to fall asleep. it seemed like the only remedy was to twist and turn around in bed, until your body found a comfortable enough position to find sweet solace in. funnily enough, a lot of the time, this position was how you laid when your body first met the cushion of the bed, yet during that time, it was not deemed worthy of being the position you slept in. things really didn't make sense at times, but that's just how it is, and you've come to accept it.

so when satoru first invited you to move in with him, you told him about it. and now that all of your things were transferred to his house and you were about to spend a night together in the same bed, side-by-side, you reminded him of it again, not wanting him to think that you were mad at him or any of the likes. you were not only doing it for yourself so your limbs were free to roam as they wish throughout the night, but you also did it for him. you didn't want to accidentally kick him because he was laying down too close to you while you tossed around, perhaps tangling yourself within the blankets. besides, if he ever felt needy and touch starved, you were always enjoyed cuddling when you weren't about to go to sleep.

despite all that, satoru found himself with his arms crossed and a small pout on his lips as he gazed at your form sleeping across from him  -- too far away from his own body, might he add. his eyebrows were knit into a furrow when his eyes traveled from your face, so pretty and holding no stress within the skin, to the stuffed toy you had in your arms. that should be me!

while yes, he did understand what you told him, why you didn't really cuddle while you slept, he still couldn't help but feel annoyed, frustrated, even a hint of betrayal bubbled in his gut. can you blame him? the heart wants what it wants.

instead of waking you up and whining to you about it, a smirk crept to his lips as he thought of a fool-proof - or at least he hopes it is - plan to make you snuggle in closer to him, as close as his lovesick self wants.

he's careful as he stands up, making sure your sleeping self would not feel the bed as it dips while he rises from it, then takes long strides over to the corner of the room where the air conditioner was settled at. it was already quite chilly, the way you were nestled in the warm blanket you and satoru shared was enough proof of that -- in his opinion though, it can get a few degrees colder and so he cranked it up a few notches. he didn't turn the appliance on that high most of the time, the only exception being during summer days when heatwaves were kicking his ass, and then this particular night where he was desperate for your comforting touch on him. satisfied with what he had done, he smirked triumphantly to himself and walked back to the bed, ready for you to huddle up to his figure for the warm it provided any time soon.

and when it did - of course it did, it's my plan, after all satoru thought - he couldn't help the way he quietly cooed at you snuggling into his side, mumbling something about s' cold in your sleep. and you're so cute he murmurs back with a gentle pinch of your nose that doesn't wake you up as he stretches his arm that's on your side of the bed to wrap around you and help pull you closer to him.

in classic gojo satoru fashion, he side-eyes the stuffed animal you were cuddling earlier, muttering an i win! at the inanimate object, before going another step further and flicking it off the bed.

I really wanted him to be able to build a new life with Olala! I was rooting for them! But now that I've sat with it i think it does make sense for Lam to die- he never fully managed to leave his past behind, and in the end it caught up to him. But man I wish that he and Olala and Caroline got to become a family together. Now we just have to root for Caroline not sacrificing herself too.

I am glad I at least partially called it tho- I was hoping Posidonia's pearl would come back, but alas. At least we got Reaper Kestrel content.

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Chat Noir Season 5

I've been binging it all over the past couple days and I just finished it.

Wow.

Just...

Wow. I am in awe.

That was the most action packed, story driven season I thought would never happen with this show. I was on the edge of my seat. I squealed from joy and cried from bitter-sweet sorrow. I yelled out in anger and clenched my first in victory.

That was SO worth the wait. I loved every second of it. And to find out that we'll probably get at least another two seasons!? I am SO EXCITED!!!

Everything was really well addressed. The fact that Luca knew, the fact that Alya knew half, Felix's entire character!!! Here's some of my favorite moments of the season:

Adoration. Zoey's crush reveal. Perfect. It was magnificent. It all fits so well- it made me so happy!!!! AAAAaaaAAa!!!!!! So good.

Felix and Kagami?? They are so cute. It SO makes sense! I can't believe I never thought of it before.

(My favorite ship to day dream about is still the polycule of Luka, Adrien, Marinette, and Kagami... but that is way far from cannon lmao)

Mark and Nathaniel holding hands???? Whaaaaat!?! You mean, ON SCREEN!? YESSSSSS! Best believe I had no time for the actual sadness occuring in that moment as I was too busy screaming with joy~

Ms. Bustier !!! With her partner!!! A kiss!!!! Aaaahhhh!!! Dying of joy. give me a moment.

Marinette dropping a whole ass piano on Monarch knowing so well who's under the mask. She would have done more if she'd had the time~

Chat having a full on stick fight with his akumatized father- he was smacking so hard! Loved it.

Adrien about to straight up murder Kim for hurting Marinette. (He was a lot less hinged this season and I am beyond here for it)

We all hate Lila, but she is such a badass villain. She's the one that almost never loses, not really. She's too crafty. Her pulling off the wig was crazy. She's very unhinged. Hoping for an Azula breakdown from her.

Luka in any scene with Marinette, Adrien, or both of them. He's so good.

The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan, Episode 11 - The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-chan, Part 1

So, for clarity, this is Haruhi content but it's not Disappearance because Disappearance is the movie that closed out Melancholy. This is Disappearance the series, but it's specifically the Disappearance arc of Disappearance the series, not to be confused with the Disappearance movie.

Check. Weirdly enough, both show title and episode title are entirely different contexts that both make sense and are meaningful in different ways.

At the end of the previous episode, I asked,

"WHAT IS HAPPENING IN YOUR BRAIN

EMOTE YOU USELESS ROBOT"

She is now telling us what is happening in her brain and I am still lost. I thought before that maybe she was running some kind of backup of her original program but now it seems like she was just... wiped. Like somehow her new Escapist Yuki persona got deleted in the car crash and she's just... rebooted at factory settings.

Are we going to get to see Factory Reset Yuki opine about all of her friends? Because I'm down for that. Can't wait to see her shit-talk Haruhi in strictly clinical terms.

That's okay, Nagato Yuki's just as perplexed so you're fine. The practical difference between Anxiety Disaster and Unfeeling Robot is marginal.

I mean. In this reality, yes. I'll grant you that.

At least Factory Settings is coming right out with it. Now that she's been confronted, she isn't going to withhold anything.

Ryoko is taking this way better than I am. She's sitting there like, "Well, this is weird and I do want to get the old Yuki back but this version of Yuki's existence is equally valid, and it's not my place to make judgments about which Yuki is correct."

Meanwhile I'm over here like "DEATH TO THE INTERLOPER RESTORE OUR YUKI" because I was invested in her journey and want it to continue.

See, this is why Ryoko isn't my character. Haruhi is. Ryoko is a way better person than me.

What we in the medical field refer to as "Panicked so hard she reset to factory settings."

Oh hey, I can actually say that because I work in the medical field! ...in accounting.

Again, I love that we aren't making any effort to hide this. Her factory reset is not a secret to everybody. It's a medical condition that our friend just got hit with. It's being handled as such.

Every time they say stuff like this, it makes me afraid that this might be permanent. And I have. Very confused feelings. About that.

Because I wanted Yuki to have nice things, and if Escapist Yuki never comes back then all that time spent rooting for her just... fizzles. It would effectively be a character death for our main protagonist, as her body and memories remain alive but her personality and identity and hopes and fears are all dead.

But it's not less transformative, going from Escapist Yuki to Factory Reset Yuki, than it was going from Original Flavor Yuki to Escapist Yuki. It's functionally the same. Yuki lives on but has metamorphized into a new state of being.

And then the LGBT part of me is like, "Is this trans?"

Like. There's parallels to when a person comes out as trans, and everyone around them has to put aside their previous interpretations of that person and accept the new reality.

But it's. Not exactly the same, either, because those interpretations are a falsehood while both versions of Yuki are presented here as equally valid. Coming out as trans doesn't fundamentally change who you are; Only how you are perceived by others. The part that went bon still goes kyu; It's just that other people didn't understand before how it goes kyu, and now they do.

For Yuki, the part that went bon no longer goes kyu.

But that's also. Like. Part of how life works too? People change. Sometimes, as you get older and have new experiences, the part that went bon stops going kyu. That's just part of life.

I don't know. Very complicated feelings right now.

She's made her way back over to her houseplant corner. Yuki is once again a room decoration.

Factory Settings over here is starting to... fill in over time. She admitted to being embarrassed earlier. She enjoyed helping Kyon with his homework.

It's unclear if the Escapist Yuki identity is regenerating or if Factory Settings is simply growing into being an emotional human being, but she is starting to develop back into a three-dimensional person as the days pass.

I'm still nervous and freaked out and everything but seeing this blank Yuki start to grow into her humanity once more has put me more at ease. I'm no longer at "DEATH TO THE INTERLOPER".

I just read through all of The Bridge Burner that's up and it's SO good. Your character design is great, you immediately get a sense for everyone even if they only pop up a couple times just from their design. I love LOVED the way the heart sunglasses revealed this little silver lining, this little optimism he still has even if it may be clouded in a "fuck it" rather than "wow I should really get at the core of my issues". All these details about Ross and his design that reveal little pieces of his personality. The whole thing peeling his character like an onion. OUGH it's so good!!!

sorry this is long I just have an influx of feelings cause your writing is so wonderful I'm just??? aaaaaAAAAA so, i was seeing people talk about Salyra, and being passive aggressive and whatnot, and this was before I played the latest chapter myself. Sure, the revelation would potentially hurt/confuse the MC, and it was a route I took last chapter. WIthout context, I guess reading the asks you were getting, I was mentally preparing to see how badly Salyra content would hurt me (cause I love angst, so not actually hurt me but in that punch you narrative heart of course by god I hope I am making sense) like, when i played at the start, i ended up wanting the MC and Ahlf have a good bond cause i could feel the struggle but also concern (or maybe I'm just to emotionally easy and just wanted peace in the family who knows lol) so it ended with a high relationship value between MC and Ahlf. But with Salyra, I still remember the first time I went through and got the revelation that she was not only alive but had a new family like??? I'M SORRY W H A T NOW???? Tho I did tell myself if there was a good reason for why she did what she did maaaaaybe I'd go with the reconciliation if there was one. It didn't go that way I still made MC not come to a conclusion. Mainly cause well... IDK like I said maybe I'm weak emotionally. While I don't forgive Salyra's reasons as to why she did what she did (the disappointment, like man I know she was trying to protect the MC but...), the emotions and desire to reconcile just made me feel like I cannot have it actually be on a 100% "I cannot forgive you" route. (also the slap that Ahlf just really didn't tell the MC about her letters like... why tho I thought I liked you by the end now I'm just >:C) (also really like that you can make it clear you are fine with Rana and Denzor, it's really just Salyra's actions that what really hurt)

You're completely free to feel the way you feel about Salyra. The game isn't about making peace with Salyra or forgiving her and you'll never be punished for having an antagonistic relationship with her, so if you go in wanting to reconcile but then doing the opposite, it's fine 😅 I tend to have more fun writing the aggressive responses with Salyra than the happy/forgiving responses.

Danzor and Rana, while part of Salyra's new family, aren't the same as Salyra and will not be nearly as pushy 😋
