Another 4 hour practice! This time, it was to emulate a simple style that still feels engaging and "fun." I wanted to add more detail in the smoke to make it something more than blocks of color, but I refrain because I wanted Banette to be the center focus.

5. hisuian zorua/zoroark! i already really like base zoroark so the regional form is really welcome, the designs go extremely hard while also being cute and i love their entire deal about hating humans. it makes PERFECT sense for hisui's setting and just felt delightfully natural.

4. mimikyu! very typical choice but its always really fun to use. i love how it's a play on the pika clones, but it ended up being more popular than the actual pika clone of gen 7 (its ok tho togedemaru i still love u), again the entire backstory is very good and tragic, and i love what the anime did with it by making it a vengeful spirit instead of just Sad, which was really interesting! also it's got trixie association for me now so i love it even more just for that <3

3. duskull/dusclops/dusknoir! yeah its pmd nostalgia but it's just so cool overall, every single form has something awesome going for it. i also always thought it was so funny how dusclops gained legs in evolution and just lost them again. what the hell. his legs. dusknoir doesnt feel like a pokemon to me though. hes a guy. i know him personally and he owes me money for therapy.

2. shuppet/banette! admittedly my pmd oc bates just made this one skyrocket for me, i love my pathetic little woman a lot. stinky bitch!! but its also a really good pokemon overall, it's got one of the richer backstories that feels so natural for this world and makes for really good oc fuel. kinda surprised it doesnt get paired with mimikyu more often tbh? they have similar deals

CHANDELURE!!! oh my god its just SO cool, ive used it in gen 5 a lot and its so much fun, the design fucks so hard, the pokedex entries are delightfully creepy and fucked up and its just one of the best object mons out there... one of the ones i desperately need to make a pmd oc of tbh, im kinda surprised i haven't. the entire line is a favorite that i just never talk abt all that much. also it's CRY oh my god literally one of the best pokemon ever tbh

Hey Naff,,, so,,, I’ve been thinking a lot about SJ Pokémon Style recently, and about how having Pokémon would open up so many new avenues for Shenanigans, particularly for the Vigilante’s escapes. This lead to me thinking of a scene probably early on in the “game”, when the Detectives are still getting used to Vigilante’s team and shenanigans. They’ve managed to corner them on a rooftop or something, with nowhere else to run, the Vigilante’s hands up and unable to reach for any Pokéballs. The boys’ own Pokémon stand by ready to spring into action at a moment’s notice. Despite this, the Vigilante’s just as calm and collected as ever. Vigilante: Well, looks like you’ve got me cornered. Good job, detectives. Sun: Just come quietly and we’ll take you in. Vigilante, glancing at the ledge behind them and smirking: Hmm… You know what? I don’t think I will. Moon: There’s nowhere left to run. It’s over. Vigilante: ‘Over’? Why detectives, this is far from over~ The Vigilante hops up onto the ledge behind them, smiling sweetly as Sun nervously tells them to get back down. Then with a wink, they jump. The detectives and their Pokémon rush to the ledge in alarm, when suddenly- CRAAAAWW! The massive black form of Corvinight comes shooting up from below, the Vigilante perched confidently on its back. Vigilante: In fact, I think our little game’s only just getting started~! Just… the Potential for dramatic escapes (and entrances!) in this AU is immense. The mental image of the Vigilante standing (standing, not sitting like a normal person because they're Dramatic and Talented like that) on Corvinight or even Hydreigon, calling down to the detectives flirtatiously has been living in my mind rent free for days. (I can also imagine them making another comment about their reactions, something like “Don’t look so alarmed, boys. Why, if I didn’t know any better, I’d say you were worried about me just now~” meanwhile the boys are still recovering from minor heart attacks lol. The Vigilante pulls this stunt approximately 74639 more times. It still stresses them out.)

Ahhh, the shenanigans would be so fun in the Pokemon style of SJ! I also love how much more the Pokemon can express the vigilante's and the detectives' personalities and be wingmen in a sense.

I adore the thought of the vigilante standing on Hydreigon's back while leaning over the edge of a roof to chat (flirt) with Moon, completely at ease and stable, not a fear of falling. Hydreigon rolls its eyes before pushing the vigilante up a step higher into a kiss with the detective (a la Aladdin) to cut the chatter.

Sun catches sight of the raven wings of Corviknight before the vigilante drops into the middle of his investigation of a gang attack while it's raining, his Braviary watching the other bird-like Pokemon closely with his wing held above Sun from his perch to keep him dry. Likewise, Corviknight spreads a wing to shelter the vigilante while the two discuss the murders. The two Pokemon are ever patient and move a touch closer to each other, connecting the canopy of their feathers when the detective and vigilante press close as they continue to theorize.

During chases late into the night, the vigilante will smile when Greninja cuts off their escape route, the Pokemon standing silent and ready. Their Scolipede scowls but vigilante soothes their Pokemon by promising that Detective Moon is already here—if Greninja is any indication of that.

There's a time or two that Detective Sun will find the vigilante with the aid of his Espeon, tracking them down after a few days of radio silence only to find the vigilante hunkering down somewhere, nursing some wounds and watched over by Banette. The doll-like Pokemon gives the creeps to anyone who gazes upon it, defensive of its trainer, but Sun has Espeon convince the Pokemon to let him closer so he can reach the vigilante and start patching up their injuries.

Absol will often pop out of the vigilante's Pokeball unbidden but frantic with its desire to warn its trainer, and the vigilante knows to start running with Absol right beside them. It always seems to be too late for Eclipse's Talonflame to be upon them. A fight isn't quick enough to get out of this before the boss man is upon them, grinning, and holding his arm out for his Pokemon before he and the vigilante, Absol growing at the other trainer, have a little talk.

Hello all! My name is June (she/her) and I am a university student from Hoenn, majoring in pokemon biology and horticulture! I'm currently traveling in order to gain as much knowledge as possible thanks to a scholarship from my uni. I hope to maybe make it as a pokemon professor-- and if not, perhaps open up my own plant + grass type conservatory!

In all honesty I'm pretty new to this whole rotomblr stuff, and I'm not all to osure how to work it that well.. Here is my current travel team!

Lotus the Ivsaur

Modest, highly persistent. A water lotus variant Ivysaur with a water/grass typing, and practically my soulmate. My first officially owned pokemon, gotten from my grandmothers venusaur as a child. Lotus has grown and matured with me through the years, and is always looking out for me! Shes trained in battle and performance, but we have since retired from coordinating and she'd rather sit back and experience life as it comes.

Scout the Lopunny

Sassy, likes to fight. One of my first wild-caught pokemon, and both me and Lotus's best friend. Shes quite a fan of my more feminine interests, often asking to share my clothes and music. Shes definitely one of my more battle + performance savvy pokemon, and we're working on learning mega evolution together! She wears a light blue letterman jacket I bought for her once, she wanted to dress similarly to an idol group we saw online once!

Grim the Joltik

Jolly, very finicky. He is literally the sweetest little baby ever. He was an unexpected capture, having hopped onto my phone one day and refusing to leave. He loves to suck out the battery life from practically my devices which drives me insane, but I wouldnt trade him for the world. Despite being small for the past few years, I think he doesnt want to evolve which is fine by me! I think he enjoys riding on my head or shoulder.

Jasper the Typhlosion

Rash, quick to fight. A large, bulky, fluffy, shiny typhlosion with a scar across his muzzle. Rescued from a "backyard zoo" situation, it took a long long time to fully gain his trust, but it was worth it. Hes very standoffish but protective of me and the team. Lotus was a big help in calming him during the beginning, and now he enjoys battling to blow off some steam.

Harlequin the Banette

Quirky, impetuous and silly. Perhaps my first ever pokemon friend. We met when I was a small child and he was still a shuppet. Its a bit of a long story, but he stuck through with me during some negative times within my early years even as a wild pokemon, and would frequently visit to keep me entertained through the years. I didn't catch him for many years, but one day after being a trainer for a while, I asked him if he'd like to join my team and has stuck around since. He wears a chunky bandana on his neck thats practically the size of him.

Jade the Noivern

Adamant, alert to sounds. One of the newer additions to the group, i had caught her within a cave and she showed fighting spirit right off the bat. I took the time to train her in between my studies and she evolved into a speed demon. She absolutely LOVES flying and I myself had always wanted to ride on a flying pokemons back, so its a win-win. She looks up to Jasper, and they often spar together.

I have plenty of other pokemon back at home that I'll introduce when the time comes, but these are the ones I think are best suited to help me during my studies! Perhaps I'll switch around the team, maybe I wont. It takes a while to transfer pokemon across regions but who knows where life will take me!

Glitchy Red

You’re just like him fr: being so full of hatred and wishing harm on those who abandoned you. But you go beyond maiming--instead murdering them via voodoo dolls.

When you cross paths with Glitchy, you wonder if he’s really a Pokémon himself bc of his impressive Scary Face.

But even though he’s (sorta) human, you actually end up befriending him bc he’s not a typical trainer. He “haunts” a game and seems cool. Plus he empathizes with you on multiple levels.

“I get it. The feeling of no longer being useful...of being thrown away once you can’t offer them anything more. Must be hard for you, huh?”

“Hmmm...Nette!” You offer him a Gengar plushie, smiling. 

Alongside making voodoo dolls of your worst enemies, you loved to collect regular plush Pokémon dolls, ensuring none were ever left behind like you were.

Glitchy just blinks, before barely smiling at the gesture. "...that’s actually kinda cute. Who did you murder for that?”

Grey

Was honestly scared shitless upon meeting you. You just showed up while he was walking through some tall grass and nearly gave the poor kid a heart attack.

He’s still getting used to seeing Pokémon irl since they were all broken/messy glitches/nonexistent back in his game, but he did know the reputation Banettes had.

Tries throwing a pokeball to catch you, only to be flabbergasted when you intercept it and look at him annoyed.

But you notice that he’s not just some dumb trainer who signed his own death certificate..because he’s been dead for quite a while (albeit in a weird state of limbo since he’s free from the game, but not exactly who he used to be).

So you befriend him, though Grey is still very much wary around you despite Shinto immediately warming up to you and sharing your adoration for plushies.

You give him a Snorlax plush for him to hug and hold onto whenever his anxiety gets the best of him. You just wanted him to see you’re not totally evil.

He thinks it’s haunted 100% but doesn’t wanna tell you that, fearing you’ll be offended.

Gold

Immediately believed you were going to harm his Unowns and tried to “Scary Face” you away from his realm.

But you weren’t fazed, and when they reacted violently, you dodged all of their Hidden Power attacks before managing to reason with the doomed trainer.

You can tell he was in a great deal of pain, abandoned and forgotten as you were, so you showed him some sympathy, reassuring him you’re not here to hurt anyone.

With your expertise in stitching, you closed up his wounds and took care not to accidentally use your powers near his Unowns. 

Oh and you definitely let him lean against one of your bigger Pokémon plushies. It’s cute seeing him cuddle up to them and feel safe for once in his existence.

It certainly seemed out of character to not wanna harm this kid when you’ve killed so many trainers like him in the past..

Yet seeing Gold’s dilemma struck a pin into your cold heart.

He looks menacing on the surface, but you saw his softer side after offering him a Charizard plushie.

Usually he’s not one to accept gifts, though...he just couldn’t refuse yours. Even if it resembled what Miki used to be.

Speaking of whom, she adores you a lot! You’re just as cruel and unforgiving as her while in battle. 

She’d never think to combat you, though, as you’ve made her trainer happy and wouldn’t wanna chase you off.

Ofc, there might be some quarrels over who gets more attention from him considering she’s his ace, but it’s a friendly rivalry.

Steven lets you stick around while you endlessly roam Kanto together, not stopping you if you wanna lash out at some poor trainers who insulted him when he grieved Miki or accused him of murdering Mike (despite it being true and you knowing this, too).

He can’t stand to have any other Pokémon on his team besides Miki, though you’re an exception.

Hyrule for the Pokémon AU! His design his mostly the same, I just took some inspiration from the Ribbon Smock in XY, since those are my favorite Pokémon games. I think it fits with the Pokémon he has. I also think I messed up with his arms though, specifically his left arm, it looks a bit weird. I do love how I drew the Pokémon though, poor Litwick. But now, onto the Lore under the cut!

There are little to no pokeballs in Hyrule’s time, production for them has stopped long ago. So his Pokémon just follow him around, like his Drifloon. Sometime before his first adventure started, the Drifloon attempted to take him away. It failed, spectacularly, and ended up being pulled around by Hyrule, none the wiser to the Pokémon’s attempt to carry him off. They’re friends now. Drifloon doesn’t really fight for Hyrule though, he has a sword-that I forgot to draw here oops-that he uses to fight off evil Pokémon.

In Hyrule’s time, it is very normalized to use actual weapons against Pokémon, whatever it takes to survive in such a dangerous world. Some people keep Pokémon, but most don’t. Object Pokémon are typically seen as “safer” to keep, and Hyrule only has object Pokémon.

Hyrule found a Klefki after it stole one of the small keys he needed for a dungeon. So he beat it up until it let him use the key. But then it continued to follow him, since it figured that Hyrule could lead it to even more keys, even fighting for him occasionally. After Hyrule found the Magical Key in the 8th dungeon, he let Klefki keep all the small keys they found. Then he lost the key sometime before his second adventure, repeating that cycle until he found the new Magic Key, which he leaves with Klefki to keep an eye on. Klefki is so very happy.

Hyrule first just had a regular Blue Candle he bought from a merchant, before finding a unique looking Litwick in the 7th dungeon. Litwick clung to him, clearly wanting to leave that place as soon as possible. Hyrule loved her immediately, she’s so cute. Drifloon carries Litwick around when he’s fighting, otherwise she tries to stay in his pockets.

The Power Bracelet made Hyrule stronger, and it also had this cool stone called a Mega Keystone according to Impa. The Keystones are very rare, not many people even know they exist. He also found some mega stones in the treasury that he was allowed to keep, just in case he found a Pokémon that could mega evolve.

During his second adventure, Hyrule found a Shuppet. He was very tired and frustrated from the everything, so he was the perfect feeding ground for the Pokémon. But Hyrule loved him. He was so cute. Hyrule’s mood increased immediately upon seeing him. Shuppet was now stuck with the hero, whether or not he liked it, and he didn’t at first, but he eventually grew on him, even fighting for him, more so than Klefki, eventually evolving into a Banette. He basically hates everyone that’s not Hyrule, because he took care of him so well. Banette tolerates his other Pokémon, as well as the Zeldas and Impa. Even though Hyrule treated Banette with so much care, he would not turn back into a stuffed toy as the legends say he would. Once Hyrule brought Banette back with him, he figured that Banette could mega evolve.

Now onto the LU! Picking up where we left off in Legend’s post, The Chain has just met up and introduced a bit about themselves. Hyrule told the rest that he didn’t really have pokeballs, and that his Pokémon liked just being out and about, his Litwick in his pocket and Banette being held in his arms, the other two floating around him.

Legend seems to know the most about what’s happening, but surprisingly the old farmer (time) is the one taking charge, the ranger captain (warriors) staying by his side. Legend stayed to the wayside, the so called Hylian Champion is sticking by his side, and the blue-coated gym leader (this is twilight, i’ll make a post about each link’s occupations later) is sticking by his side, much to Legend’s annoyance. Hyrule really wants to talk to him, but he’s knows better than to make the hero even more annoyed. But he knows he has to make friends with the other Links. The child was walking over to him, but the glare sent by his Banette made him instantly turn his heel and walk over to with the Master Sword, who was already with the multi colored one.

Then the captain fell back, going over to him, completely ignoring the Banette. The captain had a determined look on his face, a black pokeball in hand. It took Hyrule a few seconds to recognize it as a Luxury Ball, something that he’d only heard of from Zelda the First. The captain placed it in his hand as Hyrule’s mouth was agape in shock, staring directly into his eyes before subtly nodding his head over to the Klefki before stepping away and going back to the farmer’s side. Hyrule dumbly nodded back, holding the ball out to Klefki, who curiously tapped the button on it and disappeared in a flash of light. Needless to say Hyrule was freaking out, having never seen a pokeball before. The champion and the kid had to teach him how to use the pokeball, with Legend and the multi-colored one giving him more Luxury Balls for his other Pokémon. They all loved it, except for his Banette, who clearly preferred to be held.

Anyways I’m currently resisting the urge to make a fan fic, since I haven’t really planned much out. Also going to make a master post of this eventually.

I always believed that Banettes somehow kind of warped their bodies to look like that? Like they were just supposed to look like creepy black dolls. Knowing they were a popular model of dolls makes so much more sense

Fad toys are perfect banette material since they are often fiercely loved for as long as the fad lasts... and then discarded.

Funny story, we didn't know Zipper was even a Pokemon until he reached his arm out to grab some pokepuffs.

Zipper was dropped off at our daycare with a note just saying "Zipper" and nothing else. He didn't even move or breathe or blink or anything like that, so we thought it was just a doll, so we were going to sell it to an antique shop, since this style of doll stopped being made in the 1960s. And then I just had him on the counter and was making pokepuffs, and he just reached his hand over and took one, and then we realized, "Oh shit, he's a real Banette." So now, we're putting him up for adoption.

He doesn't move much, mostly moving to get food. HE is obviously easy to care for, and perhaps he'll move more once he finds a trainer who loves him again. If interested in adopting, reply or reblog with your qualifications and why.

Gyutaro pokemon AU (?)

Bro, I was doing this for the last few days, at first it was supposed to be a joke, but when I spent almost 3 days doing it, I saw that it wasn't a joke anymore.

It was actually a lot of fun, imagining interactions and what kind of pokemons Gyutaro would use, I really wanted to give him more poisonous pokemons, but most of them didn't look the way I wanted.

Also more drawings, but I just got a little tired and wanted to post them here, maybe I'll do more things, since I was a bit obsessed with it (I would have some paintings for Ume/Daki, but I got lazy （´ 3｀)💚

Ash going so far out of his way to help a random Pokemon he doesn't know is nothing new but MPM does it so well... this Banette caused so much trouble for everyone in town but Ash realized it was just lonely and immediately spent the entire day trying to help it find its owner (a near impossible task because it didn't remember what its owner looked like or how old she was or where she had moved to), was fully prepared to spend ANOTHER day helping it search, and chased after a train on his Dragonite to keep Banette from leaving after he found the owner.

i have a bannette i named flopsy that has been by my side since i was little. when i first saw her, i just thought she was a regular plushie until she started moving around, and i was super happy cuz i never had a plushie that actively played with me too. i named her flopsy cuz she loves flopoing her lil arms around! i eventually figured out she was a bannette, but ive had her for so long, that i'd feel terrible about giving her up

That's actually a great example of what makes Ghost Types like this so special.

Banette can get such a bad reputation for being considered "dark or evil" when in reality they really just are filled with love and want attention from their trainer.

They don't actually need to eat very much, a lot of the time they eat because they enjoy the flavors.

They are very emotional under that somewhat scary facade, and if they make a kid cry or a person too scared, they almost immediately feel bad and will spend as much time as they can to make them feel better.

They can inflict pain on others by sticking themselves with needles, however there are some groups that have been able to use them for Acupuncture.

By sticking them on the major pressure points, they can project that onto the person getting the procedure, allowing the specialist to observe the energy flow on the person much easier to reduce blockage.

They love helping, and that "grudge" they hold is mostly confusion and fear of being alone.

They are pretty sweet guys.

The BG3 Pokémon teams, Halsin and Minthara edition! I'm still working on Jaheira and Minsc, since I want to get more info on them outside of BG3 to form their teams. Maybe I'll play BG2 and BG1, we'll see if I can afford to do it. But for now, here's two more teams I thought a lot about. :]

Halsin

(Oh the love I hold for him is,,, a lot. Both romantic and platonic is so sweet)

Ursaluna

Venusaur

“There is a large flower on Venusaur's back. The flower is said to take on vivid colors if it gets plenty of nutrition and sunlight. The flower's aroma soothes the emotions of people.” (Pokémon Omega Ruby & Pokémon Alpha Sapphire)

It's a big flower monster that can help potientally avoid a fight with its rad ass smell. Amazing. Much Halsin.

Arboliva

“This calm Pokémon is very compassionate. It will share its delicious, nutrient-rich oil with weakened Pokémon.” (Pokémon Scarlet)

It's a very sweet Pokémon, and Halsin would absolutely let it give out its oil/olives to the tiefling refugees and random weak Pokémon he finds.

Ampharos

“It gives off so much light that it can be seen even from space. People in the old days used its light to send signals back and forth with others far away.”

Halsin isn't really one for technology and over advanced stuff. So he communicates with Ampharos instead.

(Call Lightning was also reaaalllyyyy useful and I've come to associate it with Halsin)

Kangaskhan

“To protect its young, it will never give up during battle, no matter how badly wounded it is.” (Pokémon SoulSilver)

Okay, so tell me why Halsin WOULDN'T want the protective powerhouse that is Kangaskhan.

Golduck

“GOLDUCK is the fastest swimmer among all POKéMON. It swims effortlessly, even in a rough, stormy sea. It sometimes rescues people from wrecked ships floundering in high seas.” (Pokémon Sapphire)

He likes ducks :],,, and I really think him having a Psyduck at some point would be so funny. Like.

Araquanid

I like to think Araquanid was her first, since she was raised in a household that worshipped the spider god. Fierce, but capable of being sweet. On rare occasions.

Samurott

“One swing of the sword incorporated in its armor can fell an opponent. A simple glare from one of them quiets everybody.” (Pokémon Black)

Samurott is a very paladin Pokémon.

I actually chose Unovan Samurott over Hisuian Samurott because I don't think she really needs the Dark type– they're actually both really stern in their Pokédex entries, and it just… feels better idk.

Grimmsnarl

“With the hair wrapped around its body helping to enhance its muscles, this Pokémon can overwhelm even Machamp.” (Pokémon Shield)

A morally grey-coded Pokémon that is also an absolute unit? Fuck yes. Absolutely Minthara coded.

Drapion

“Possessing a sturdy build, it takes pride in its strength, taking down foes without using toxins.”

Of course, the prideful Poison/Dark bug is going on Minthara’s team. It really works for her, especially if you stick with the Absolute stuff.

Scolipede

“Highly aggressive, it uses the claws near its neck to dig into its opponents and poison them.” (Pokémon White)

The Paladin needs her poisonous steed!! Her very aggressive steed that tolerates her and her alone!!

Banette

“BANETTE generates energy for laying strong curses by sticking pins into its own body. This POKéMON was originally a pitiful plush doll that was thrown away.” (Pokémon Ruby)

She's a Vengence Paladin that put parasites in her brain while under the Absolute for power. She and Banette get each other.

Day 3 of Citrus DNB week.

The sun shines and the sounds of their friends fill the air. The large clearing had some interesting visitors.

An Haxorus and a Noivern rested close to their trainer, next to them a Decidueye preening its wings. Their trainers sat just a few feet from them, an ex-gym leader and his partner, a renowned (and dangerous as the media said) “criminal”, —yes Techno, trying to abolish two governments is considered a crime.

The blond man patted the pokemon on his lap, the small being making happy noises as their owner showered them in affection. Yet emerald eyes were focused on the man next to him, tattoos and scars covering his arms, most of his tattoos were simply for aesthetics, but some of them had actual meaning, mostly for his pokemon —no Dream, his not a softy, he just respects his pokemon as they do him… and give them a shit ton of treats can’t prove anything.

The man had long pink hair tied on a loose ponytail, ruby eyes looking everywhere and nothing in particular as he explained one of his most recent “wars”. Their eyes would meet from time to time whenever the pinkette said something funny or looked for any kind of reaction from his companion.

“Now, he didn’t know that even though he had lots more potatoes than what I said I had, I had way more than he could even imagine. Do you know how I did that?”

The blond giggled, his cheeks flushed and almost sore of smiling so much, he couldn’t help it, he loved listening to his boyfriend’s stories. “How did you do it?”

“I used a secret technique called lying! Never reveal your true techniques to a lame trainer.”

“Don’t be so hard on other trainers, just because you’re ancient doesn’t mean you have the right to treat them like that.”

The taller man gasped, his eyes glaring accusatory towards the freckled man, “How dare you. We’re the same age!”

“Nu-huh, you’re older than me.”

“For two months! TWO MONTHS DREAM”

“Old” soon both trainers were wrestling on the ground, Mimikyu having left the blond’s lap a while ago and instead stayed close to the rest of his teammates. The trainer’s pokemon stood by and watched for a while, just before Techno’s Gabite and Dream’s Gourgeist joined the wrestle, the rest soon followed and the trainers had to join forces to escape their pokemon claws and paws.

At night, they all snuggled together on their little camp and stared at the stars, from the two of them, the blond was the first to fall, his Mimikyu and Banette around his arms, his Spectrier served him as a makeshift pillow, the pokemon stared at him, it was one of the oldest members of Dream’s team, Spirit was their name if he remembered correctly. It was usually really overprotective with their trainer, he could remember the time they met, just a couple of teenagers with their first pokemons, his Axew had been scared of the then young Spectrier, the blond assured them Spirit wasn’t violent, and they weren’t, for a whole second.

But that day was probably the best day in Techno’s life, he had met the love of his life; he mouthed a “Thank you” to them, they bowed and laid down. Techno closed his eyes and relaxed, his bag a makeshift of a pillow, he had the best partner in the world.

HARVEY AUGHHHHHH UR SO SMART!!!!!!! honestly dai wouldn't be a hardcore pokemon trainer (he's here to steal hearts not to win fights or become champion^tm) so he wouldn't have a fully decked out party. dai would LOATHE battling, he'd never want to do it, even if given dark's reputation he'd probably get flamethrowers and lightning bolts fired his way every other day or night. it's hard being dark. he'll still use his abilities to save other people because that's his whole thing but whatever.

in my head it was like - hilariously enough dark and wiz would be daisuke's only 'pokemon' and this was an immutable concept in my Brain, if i didn't go the legendary/fragment of giratina route then dark just would've been a gengar possessing the niwa line (to mirror the way dark's sometimes described as the infinitely repeating 'ghost' of the original niwa/ancestor) or a nightmare-curse from darkrai that bled into reality (not biblical/'creation' focused enough, esp on the hikari side of things.)

dark's not allowed to be human, ever, so why not make him just the weird human-infused product of the equivalent of vaguely-pokemon-satan already who has weird dimension hopping powers(dai n dark can already do that normally) and a cool edgelord aesthetic that has a gold torque just like one of their outfits. and wings. and territorial behavior with a sensitive side lmao or everybody wanting to 'seal' and lock them away for being chaotic/trouble makers aldkjaldkjf - anyways you get it! wiz and dark even within dnangel canon are supposed to be pretty unique weirdos already, wiz is more like shaymin status (a la there's only ever like One Around) which i also think suits him a little better than an eevee would too -

in canon the way that artworks fill up dai's house as dark collects them i can see him basically filling up his mansion with all sorts of pokemon that are only 'his' in a kind of a distant and territorial, royal sense- canonically he gets artworks that are / can turn into a small bird (towa, maybe a natu given the psychic/supernatural 'guide to eternity' thing she has going on, or a swablu/altaria since it fits her aesthetic more?) a snake, (or a gecko, that's argentine, there's plenty of pokemon for that,' and a whole ass dreameater-tapir for baku, (drowzee and musharna are both RIGHT THERE) so if we're going canon-wise, i'd give him those!!! i love him slowly building up his found family of little weird guys who he loves and who love HIM very much, + again it elevates the whole giratina fragment/noble ruler of another realm/burdened boyking bit. otherwise, i've always used a clefairy(not a clefable! not! a! clefable!) to represent daisuke and still a gengar to represent dark. dai just has a fairy type affinity in general alongside his normal type behavior since he's a fragmented fairy tale mc. give him a mimikyu or impidmp or something. if anything i think the ghost types as a whole fit dark very well too - mostly in lore.
