The family dinner scene, switching from bright and cheery to a gloom foreboding oppressive atmosphere is visual cues that yeah this is kinda scary right dear reader? The body horror aspect is present as much as it was in the Brotherhood of Iron reception, but from a different perspective, one of rich out of touch people. Sinclair recounts how his family told him their new bodies are more efficient, productive, no need to eat and sleep and that terrifies him, he doesnt wanna lose those experiences

In Cawl prosthetics are basically fashion, and we see this detachment from Sinclairs classmates talking about where they are getting their procedures done and their shiny new models they will get

And lets to go back now, Nagel und Hammer is meant to be also a nazi allegory

If you wanna draw parallels to a group who did ethnic cleansing, the inhabitants of Cawl and their prosthetics are a terrible parallel!

And it makes me look at Canto III in a worse light, cause it makes the writing real messy and have weird implications

And while i dont doubt that theyd be just as violent against people using prosthetics to aid their disabilities, lets again think of the framing, the people in Cawl get these cause they can and want to, the usage of the word "prosthetic" to refer to these is understandably going to evoke the thoughts of prosthetics used irl, but in universe it can refer to something like that, and also things you just get as an augmentation, so while undoubtedly ableist, its badly also not too well executed here

m really interested to see how qsmp evolves (esp viewership) with all the new languages and CCs being added, within i assume the next 2 months. because i think the reason Why qsmp works so well is because its a server of q's friends who he knew everyone would have atleast one person of the opposite language theyd mesh with and gravitate towards.

and it being only two languages even now with the translator everyones encouraged to learn the other language and pick up new phrases and its not that daunting because its one new language. and you have 9 native speakers to help out not including the 9 (maybe less) admins who are bilingual. so adding new languages makes me wonder will trying to learn new languages actually stick? will the new CCs actually thrive on the server if they dont speak english or spanish that well? or will most viewers whos native language Is english or spanish just stick those guys and not branch out to a third language.

i think i just am worried with the new languages that we will have the same issues that everyother smp (cough epic cough dsmp cough) has where throwing a bunch of people who dont know each other into a server is how you set it/them up to fail (its honestly why i think united is going to fail but thats a different ramble). and i dont want this to fail for any of them i want this to be beautiful worthwhile experience but idk if the success of bring english speakers to spanish streams, and spanish speakers to english streams is really going to work out with people of new languages who assumedly are not good friends of q and assumedly are not going to have that smooth of an introduction from q to the other half of his audience because its not one of his languages.

i genuinely hope it works out and the new guys thrive on the server m just worried that the audience exchange we saw in the first month isnt going to be replicated to the same height/degree and what thatll mean for the new peoples drive to login

obligatory disclaimer because this is tumblr and if this gets pulled into the searches/tags: german is my second language, i at the very least am going to look at the lineup of germans when theyre announced to see if any spark an interest in picking up another streamer since its Hard imo to find german streamers who stream in german in games i like and with the regional accent and dialect i can understand and at a timezone that works with my schedule. but thats because i already know the language. the french and portuguese aint gettin me because i dont have the time or space in my brain to pick up learning a 4th and 5th language i and id say most people who are no longer sponge toddlers can not learn three extra languages and their complexities at the same time and fully understand them and be worthwhile

yeah im gonna be so incredibly honest, culture and ethnicity is probably the most inconsistent thing among my versions of the four and i really only have a few solid ideas abt them. like jet is always black in my brain, a lot of the times afro-latino specifically, and i tend to see ghoul as latino also, but i havent really worked out the specifics there any further than that. party and kobra are the most inconsistent in my mind tho, and their ethnicity changes pretty consistently like. they are liquid in my brain and i havent pinned down any solid ideas for them yet yk? ig it doesnt really help that i have like eight different versions of my own canon going in my brain at all times lol maybe if i end up mapping out the specifics of each universe it will be easier for me to lay out my unfinished ideas for each

as for traditions and cultural stuff and things like that, im sort of in the same boat there. ive got a few broad concepts in my head that i have yet to iron out the details of, and these broader ideas are more abt the specific cultures within the zones/city/underground than relating to any real world stuff. like, in the city for example, i feel like bli basically erases every sense of cultural identity and individuality bc, well, its bli. they hate beauty and they hate the idea of differing wirld views and traditions, and they hate it when people value anything other than working hard and "earning their place in their perfect society!"

and so, in the zones, i definitely feel like theres a sizable movement of joys who combat bli's perspective on pre-war cultures by learning all they can about their heritage and reviving old cultural traditions and basically rebelling through connecting with their roots. but again, thats really where my thoughts on this topic end bc i do not have enough knowledge abt all these individual culture that exist to really say how i think theyd be represented in the zones or how they would mesh with zone culture itself. i do thunk it would absolutely have an impact of zone culture as a whole, but i just dont know the specific effects of that impact would be bc, again, this is not something i have researched heavily yet or begun fully fleshing out

i will say that this is why i admire you and ur work and ur version of this universe so much!!! you have such amazing ideas abt the way real world cultures and zone culture would intersect, and i fucking love hearing you talk abt all the traditions and stuff there are in the desert bc i think it is so so so fucking cool and i wish i had the brain to think of stuff like that lol

My NOTP for them: tobi, its really funny to think about but not really for me. I dont think my notp for him is because he hates all uchiha but more so because Tobi's and Deidara's personalities dont mesh well together, and i do also mean [spoiler]'s personality as well.

List of other people I dont think mesh well with Deidara:

Kakashi, Kankuro, Ino, Kakazu, sasuke

For a lot of these ships, in my opinion they just dont work for me.

My BROTP for them: ok so I do ship Sassori with Deidara but like hes just a really cool bro as well. Kishimoto does an amazing job of providing us with brotp ships that are homoerotic, hate each other, but like also theyd die for one another. I think more times than often about how Deidara and Sasori just veg out in a hidden away nook in their journeys and either spend all their resting time arguing and venting while meticulously working on their art, usually its when one or both of them are stuck on a new design. or they sit in complete silence, saying nothing, while smoothing out their fibishjng touches. And while the two may not agree on the other's art medium , their opinions matter to one another and passively ask for the other's opinion on what build would work better in what scenario. I can go into an essay about this so I'll stop here.

My OTP for them : -Mumbles- my oc....

..... as an adult I have realized how volatile their relationship would be. But as an adult, I no longer care. My OC Mathilda and Deidara are my OTP because of how different their personalities are and how much they apart of the "i can change them" squad. I feel like Mathilda (she/her) would actually make Deidara question his sexuality rather than piss him off right off the bat and she would make him self reflect..... like why dooooes he hate the uchihas so much? They're an eternal art that he can't understand, they go against everything he believes. Mathilda would be too, but she's a safer option to explore his sexuality with, and better yet? She too hates the uchihas????????? Fuck yeah sign me on- what do you mean I have to self reflect to get on this ride?theres a lot more to it that is heavily fanfic heascannon fodder so I'll save you from my lengthy explanation and give you my other OTP with a character that exists in the story.

Otp pt2: sasori. I mean, again, for all the reasons theyre a brotp theyre also my otp. They just GET eachother even if they hate the other's choice of aesthetics. If I want to make an argument of sexuality I feel like Deidara and Sasori's relationship could occur very naturally, had they had more time (every day im furious with how fast they were killed off instead of used more for story purposes), however I feel like it would be a lot more pinning on Deidara's part. Sasori goes against all of his beliefs but still he keeps Deidara motivated and interested.

My second choice pairing for them: itachi. Listen..... we all know Deidara has some pent up confused gay emotion directed towards itachi. Well literally anyone who can defeat him or render him powerless (lenny face here). If these two were paired up for anything, misssions would take forever to be completed but they would get done. Both would tire eachother repeatedly, making the other hate the other more until one of them, its itachi, asks what the fuck is going on. Deidara would say "i hate you because you're not art" or something along those lines and throw in a bit about how emotionless the uchihas are. Itach replys "whatever" this only enrages Deidara more till he attackss, itachi reponds and everything goes back down to an equilibrium where Itach i could ask what was really wrong and how could they change something so they could actually work together. Deidara would go on a long tangent that Itachi (lady doing math meme) deciphers that Deidara has pent up gay emotion and tells Deidara this. This sets him off but quickly fizzles Deidara out and leaves him silent for once. Oh look he's self reflecting now. Itachi/Deidara is a great ship to see Deidara mature pine and I love every second of that.

My fluffy pairing for them: sasori again, I dont think Deidara is a big physical touch person. But its about those small slice of life moments between these two if you want them to have fluff.

Another could be Sai. Yeah, there would have to be a lot to happen there for anything to develop but I feel like these two could develop the other emotionally and physically.

Oh! Naruto as well but thats an easy one because Naruto has an innate ability to make friends with anyone. But a naruto/deidara that reforms Deidara would be chock full of fluff.

and they also have protoform which is… their living metal, the groundwork of their body sorta thing. If a baby was gestating it would be the start of/most of the body being constructed.

tbh the fanon pregnancy is pretty much like human preggers with little to no difference, but I know some? fics have “keep fucking to grow that baby”, using transfluid (sperm) as a building block for babies?

There’s multiple ways more cybertronians come into existence, depending on the continuity. But to my knowledge the more human pregnancy one is purely fanon.

as for the baby swordsmachine thing it was a combination between agony and tundra :) which is why theyre pink n purple. it came abt from a conversation with my friend Dreamy who had the idea for beby swordsmachine. the concept strays much further from how it works in humans though... robot baby is kinda... either a copy of one or a combination of two or more machines and their functions n programs (however it gets a bit more confusing the more you add to the mix OR if the machines are so different that theyd seem almost incompatible).

baby starts out kind of less like a baby and more like a chip (probably wrong term but just roll with it man). its consciousness starts out there, and to actually give it a body machine parents will have to scrap together parts and pieces to build a body, usually based on its own blueprints and its partners blueprints. sometimes these dont mesh well, but other times it works out alright :) s2g though a good chunk of scrap baby construction is going against the blueprint so it just kind of Slightly resembles the parent.

similar to how humans grow, USUALLY once they get their first bodies its rather small. its a temporary body, and will be changed to suit the needs as time passes. until it does get a body though, typically the chip will be held onto, stored somewhere inside the body. it can really be stored anywhere but its easier to keep track of something if its attached to you.

there doesnt really have to be sex involved with it it can just. happen. its got a lot of potential for weirdness + slightly more in depth discussion abt why shit like this happens in the first place

OOUUHHHHH :)))) IT TIME

For the most part, Caitlon and Barrys pokemon get along great! (Main exception being Barry's staraptor being pretty aggressive). Thortons a special case due to him not really being allowed his own pokemon so he doesn't get attached to specific ones. He does, however, have a bronzor he caught in secret and named "Puppy" who is the sweetest thing in the world.

They don't battle all too often, surprisingly! This is mostly due to Thorton and Caitlin usually being burnt out by the time they get a chance to hang with Barry. However, Caitlin kicks ass in platform fighters, Barry wins most racing games and Thorton REALLY wants to try and set up a DnD game at some point with them.

They have 3 main meet up spots: Barry's room in the battle tower, behind the pokemart in the resort and an abandoned tree house they found in the woods. They usually meet up in the treehouse when they need to be extra sure they don't get caught doing something (such as Puppy being around, generally being bastard teenagers for once or eating snacks and drinks they usually get monitored. Like monster energy being a favorite between all three).

Barry ABSOLUTELY introduces them to Dawn and Lucas. He has two pairs of really cool people friends, why not mesh it all together? One day he drags Lucas and Dawn into the towers and they all meet up behind the pokemart and they all get along REALLY well. Aside from Lucas and Thorton, who both feel the need to assert themselves as the braincells of the group despite the braincells actually being Dawn.
