You were hanging around at Mostro Lounge, your hands busy stirring the drink that you had ordered for yourself while you studied for the upcoming exams. You also had earphones in while you worked, making sure no one was around to bother. Although, that didn’t stop Floyd barreling in and calling out to you. ”Koi-chan~!”

You jumped from the shock and comically threw your pen up in the moment, stumbling over the table to catch it. “F-Floyd! At least give me a heads up before running towards me like that..!” Floyd giggles from the reaction, bending down to rest his arm on the table. He was still in his basketball uniform- his hair strewn wildly across his head and face. 

“Nee~ Umihebi-kun and Kani-chan were talking about their childhood photos earlier! They showed photos of when they were a tiiiny little fishie~” Floyd says, grinning. “Does Koi-chan have any pictures too?”

“Well that’s random..? None that I’ll show you for free tho!” you spat, crossing your arms. “I’ll show you mine and Jade’s! He won’t know~”

Hearing the name of the other eel, you can’t help but be intrigued. “Well, I guess two of you against one is good enough...” You took out your phone from your pocket, scrolling down the gallery to find any old pictures you could use. “Oh god, this is an embarrassing picture..”

In the picture is you at 4-year old, running around the beachside chasing a lost butterfly. Your hair was blown around by the wind while you had the biggest grin plastered on your face, the biggest Floyd’s ever seen. 

“Hee, so Koi-chan can actually smile!”

“Oh shut it! Just because I don’t smile as much nowadays doesn’t mean I can’t!” You yell back, pouting at Floyd. “That’s a picture of me from when I was four. I think I have another one…” You pull up another picture, this time you were much older and in your junior high’s uniform. “This is… 4 years ago?” Floyd cooed at the sight. “D’aww, Koi-chan’s so tiny back then!”

“Hey, hold up your end of the bargain! Where’s your picture?” Floyd smirked and held up his phone, showing a picture of him in junior high holding onto what you assume would be one of Azul’s tentacles. 

“So cute…! You and Jade used to look like this?? Adorable!!” 

“Ah, but we don’t always look like each other. We had a phase~ We tried changing up our styles to see what fits~ Jade looks way different that he does now!”

“He does? I mean, how would it be so different?”

“Nn? You never knew?”

“Knew what?” You asked, leaning on the table and taking a sip from the drink.

“That Jade used to have a shit ton of piercings?”

You outright choked on your beverage, gripping the edge of the table. “He WHAT?!”

Floyd laughs, throwing himself on the sofa while cackling. “Yeah! It was easier to tell us apart~ He used to style his hair backwards and his ears were chock full of piercings!” 

You were still sputtering in disbelief. “Ain’t no way. *That* Jade?! The one who always looks so prim and proper?!”

“Yeah~ I got pics, wanna see~?”

Curiosity kills the cat, so to speak. As soon as Floyd pulls up a picture of his twin in his merform, his hair slicked back messily and a bunch of piercings on his left ear alongside the sturgeon scale earring he still dons, you could feel your soul leave your body. Not just that, Jade had stuck out his tongue showcasing the silver piercing on the flesh, along with the one on his bottom lip. 

“W-Wh- Hhuh-?! Aaa.. ?! That’s Jade?!”

“In the flesh.”

The silver and blacks of the metal seemingly made his teal hair pop out more. The countless studs on the inner side of his ear and above his eyebrow were shining under the lighting, and you could identify other types of piercings like a helix and an industrial piercing on the top of his ear. Oddly, it also made the fins on the side of his head look much more ethereal. Not only that, he had an undercut instead of his current hairstyle. Floyd says they were in the phase of trying out hairstyles, though.

It was almost as if something unlocked within you, your cheeks heating up as you stared at the picture with a hand over your mouth.

“Shit, he’s kinda hot.” Floyd laughs.

But what's Mostro Lounge without Jade being around to serve? The noises from your table has gathered his attention, watching intently from afar while you chat animatedly with his twin. There's something about the volume of your voices that echoes through the empty lounge, as Jade picks up the words "piercings" and his name being mentioned.

"My, I don't really take well for people who talk about me behind my back." Jade approached the table, a hand on his chest as he fake sniffles.

"Urk- Jade! H-hey there...!" You greet, flailing your arms around. "Hey Jade~ I was just showing Koi-chan our old pics! See?" Floyd took your phone from the table, showing Jade your old pictures as well. "Fufu, how adorable. Which picture of us did you show her, Floyd?"

"The one where we played tag with Azul~ Oh but I showed her a picture of you with your old piercings!"

You held out Floyd's phone towards Jade, and he gracefully picks it up and examines the picture. "Ah, this one. I didn't want to tell anyone here about the piercings, but... I do miss having them around."

Jade leans down, and you could see a few faint scars where his piercings would have been in the past.

"Dont'cha still have them somewhere in our room?"

"I think so. I'll look into it when I have the time, maybe."

You had found yourself thinking and imagining the sight of Jade with his piercings more and more ever since that day. You daydreamed about it, drew sketches, even caught yourself staring at the eel-mer sometimes.

Even with all that, you truly didn't imagine to see a huge crowd in front of Mostro Lounge today waiting for said man.

"Eh? What's with the long line?"

"Haven't you heard? They said their vice-housewarden suddenly came into class with a totally different look!"

"Dude, I wanna see how he looks!"

That has gotten you more confused than anything. It wasn't until the crowd started going crazy and bumping against each other that you realize the person in question walking in, a hand reaching up to take off his hat.

"J-Jade?!"

"Oya, how nice for you to have come again."

You almost rolled your eyes, since you were practically a regular there. But you couldn't bring yourself to answer or get a witty remark out, with how Jade looked at you smugly.

His hair was partly slicked back, leaving his bangs naturally on the left side, giving him a slightly mature yet playful aura. On his left ear, along with the sturgeon scale earring, was a bunch of his old piercings relocated back onto his ear. There were a few additions you never saw on the old picture though- like the pair of silver studs attached to a line of chain that went from on top of his ear down to the lobe. The lip piercing was also back on the left side of his lips, even though it was just a clip-on.

"H...Holy shit."

"I assume you like my new look, yes?" He smirked, putting his hat back on his head.

You didn't even have to reply, your head just automatically nodded as you stared at his new look.

(somehow, his lips just looked even more kissable.)

It felt unreal for you as you sat down in the lounge, watching him work. Maybe ogling is the better word, seeing how you couldn't take your eyes off the man. You had a hand over your mouth as well, trying to hide the pink tint in your face.

Floyd notices and smirks, leaning on the side of your table after delivering a few drinks to a nearby table.

"So? What'cha think?"

"He's hotter in person."

Jade overheard the conversation while serving another table, and had to stop a sheepish laugh from coming out.

"Pfft- fufu, perhaps I should dress up like this more often."

thoughts on the fable reboot

-until proven wrong, I'm like 98% sure this fable reboot loosely takes place after fable 1. it's got that fable: legends whimsical style to it (think that's the new artistic direction they're going for with this series- still getting used to it), magic is still around, and technology is at a minimum (hey! bows and arrows are back!). The vibe and stylization is very different than what I'm used to for albion, but no complaints.

-the only reason I confidently think it takes place after fable 1 is because of the castle. think it could be fun if we get to explore the lore behind all the shit that went down there before fable 2. mysteryyyyyyy oh yeah also bowerstone is huge now. not city-huge like fable 2, but the reign of terror has fo sho ended, and civilization is expanding... i think... it makes sense to me

-I do know for a fact that the heroes guild is/was up and running. Humphrey's got his pendent thingy, but I still dunno if this reboot is full-on retconning the lore. I hope not- because sometime after Fable 1, when guild dissipated and heroes became somewhat resented, the place got burnt to a crisp. don't think that's happened just yet- but i don't think the guild is all that popular at the moment And hey- the heroes falling from public grace is in the trailers... kind of (lots on emphasis on the people being sick of them). Would make a cool plot-point to see the guild's fall.

-dunno about the hero of oakvale, tho. he's probably dead. is only memorialized by a number of books, songs, and small easter eggs... maybe a statue if we get really lucky. wouldn't surprise me if this game takes place a few hundred years after fable 1 (there's 500 years between fable and fable 2- there's plenty of time to spare) and he's simply faded from the public consciousness. this Humphrey guy is probably the latest, greatest joe-schmo who just got off the pedestal ...actually the implications of past heroes fading out of favor soon as their glory days are over, and being replaced the next "savior" of albion is kind of depressing

-but also! Oakvale could very well still be thriving if i'm right. No shadow court (yet. would be cool if they made a guest appearance ig), possible location to visit, etc

-not gonna get my hopes up with this one- but potential cameos, or little easter eggs for beloved characters are always awesome. seeing theresa minding her own business for once... he-who-shall-not-be-named as a farmboy... one can dream. pulling up on the side of the road to help a blind lady- possibly a random encounter- only to get a brief, cryptic fortune reading from eldritch gma... ohhhh, the potential... .............but jack of blades reference..? any kind of reference to the court at all? pretty please??? all I need is a random poster on a wall commemorating their defeat, and I'll be happy

-I'm very interested in seeing what story this game's gonna tell. I have a feeling it's gonna lean further into player choice, like how bg3 has wonderfully showcased (not that extent, of course). We might actually get multiple endings, too. Least I hope so. With this new stylistic shift, new studio handling this, it'd be nice to see the narrative truly be affected by our decisions.

This may now be a controversial opinion (lol) but I definitely think CE got hotter as he got older. Especially when he became a dad in defending Jacob. He looked so naturally fine in that era of 2019-to even 2022. I wasn’t a fan of younger versions of him because it was too frat boy hs jock looking. But Steve era and onwards = chefs kiss. Until maybe this last year. I felt like summer of 2022 something was already starting to crack for him publicly - people were saying he didn’t seem so happy to be at the premiers and there was all this dumb Deuxmoi BS and I felt like his repeated mentions of the industry and what it makes you do was his way of crying out for help or frustration. I don’t think he was just making it up to be dramatic because Jennifer Lawrence and Michelle yeoh in particular have also alluded to the woes of the industry. Jen especially was more open about it and it was after the Harvey W stuff.

I also feel like there’s been a serious (sometimes unfair) projection and fantasy of him by fanfiction writers and fans who want to be like “husband CE or husband his characters” so they were expecting him to thrive into his looks and persona once he settled down and got married. They were expecting husband and father era and domestic settle down era CE. So far - whatever this is that’s happening isn’t apparently showcasing it (or at least, not publicly) so fans and former fans are extra disappointed because a part of their fantasy has been burst. I do get it and I do understand it but I also don’t think it’s fair. It’s his life to live and he can’t just please everyone and look a certain way and just because he doesn’t look great in a photo doesn’t mean he got too much Botox or is drug addicted or etc. also - he JUST “got married.” Like two months ago. who knows what the future will look like. I’m just tired of all these negative comments but these same negative nancies won’t just buzz off and leave these spaces either.

However…I do think if he’s with the right person or married the right person - you’d definitely see a difference. You’d see a more genuine smile and glow because I do think that’s what happened for Tom Hiddleston. While I really enjoy his personality, I personally don’t think Tom is my idea of handsome and his hairline isn’t great - but he looks genuinely and candidly happy with his partner. Those out in the wild pics don’t lie.

I know lots of ppl disliked Jenny Slate for CE, but publicly I felt like the candids ppl got of him while with her - he actually looked happy. Similar IMO to how Tom looks with Zawe. They actually looked good together and TBH if she was who he married I really think you’d get more legit sightings of them living their lives and less trolling anons and blurry photos. His looks and persona didn’t fade drastically while he dated her and didn’t fade while he dated his other public exes. I know some people on here who hated the Jenny era will disagree but 100% if you compared photos and public behavior he definitely seemed more free and comfortable to be out with her, seen with her, etc.

Right now tho…something deeper is happening. Who knows what. But something isn’t right. It feels like a marvel Skrull has taken over CE and the real or previous him is either gone or just trapped in another lost dimension.

you know kinda insane that min ho puts friendships in the same level of responsibility over lies as he would a partner like i feel that's something i don't see showcased that much that he just doesn't feel like the lies were something that can be solved between kitty and dae and that dae had a responsibility to his friends too, like that is just incredibly well written and i wish they had followed upon it more because how often does that side even come up in romcoms i wonder like people bad for the people directly involved but min ho says he what the fuck we used to share all of this shit, you used to trust me, you used to be a kind of friend we agreed to be to each other but you don't see the responsibility towards me? like were we even on the same page about friendship, and with this i just noticed that min ho is constantly having to redefine things about the way he trusted or cared about people even he's pedantic he's committed lol but that tells you once he lets down he's committed to people too and it's cute that even with kitty when he was being mean to her he still helped her a lot so like he's all soft really so idk why i found it so surprising that he could muster the courage to show an entirely different side of the game of lies dae, kitty and yuri were engaged in, and it feels fresh to see a guy just say well your fucking love doesn't happen in a vacuum, it did, with us, min ho and q, your people

When I watched Part 1 I was barely into series and watched certain trailers that I thought might be interesting but this time I'm planning on watching it live and am so into watching shows again.

The actors I'm actively following right now are Fourth and Gemini, along with some Phuwin (and by extension PondPhuwin) but none of them are getting ship work. So I'm mostly just gonna be there for the stories and concepts we get (though I'm curious about the GemPrim series and what Fourth is gonna be in). I hope I'm really excited by some concept (like The Warp Effect) or a cast/ship (like a surprise one).

I finally know what the show is about because of The Conversation Podcast’s episode on it yesterday and this seems in line with the Japanese version. Very comedic, so we’ll see how it goes.

Title: The Heart Killers

Did I know about this? Yes, specifically some sort of KhaoFirst series directed by Joni

Thoughts: I’M SO EXCITED! I was watching the whole trailer while intrigued and giggling. It’s definitely something I want from KhaoFirst, something a little risqué and has some actual plot while it’s different from anything JoongDunk have done so far, so i’d be curious to see how it goes. I hope the actual plot ends up good ahh. I’ll try not to get too attached to the mock trailer bc things will probably be different but I really like it. The song was covered in My School President but the vibe is different here.

After Rewatch: I definitely understood more after the rewatch because on my first watch I was so excited that I definitely missed some scenes and dialogue there loll I'm soooo excited for criminal killer brothers Khao and Joong, tattooist First who is trying to get dirt on them to clear his own car debt record, and Dunk who has been unleashed upon Joong to distract him from KhaoFirst in exchange for a car. KhaoFirst were my pull when I first watched it and they still are because I fucking love to see them on screen but I definitely got the JoongDunk thing more in this watch. Love to see Dunk be wild (kissing Joong when he's threatening him etc) and bold and actually take action this time while Joong is the one who is evasive, a different dynamic than their usuals. I... will try to enjoy this one regardless of plot to be honest lol because people were like meh on the Only Friends storyline. I think it'll help knowing that it's a Romcom with a side of drama rather than an assassin/crime plot with side of romance. I'm also not looking forward to KhaoFirst and JoongDunk's fandoms possibly fighting based on like screentime/acting prowess/"better treatment" and favouritsm/etc. but hopefully it'll turn out okay. I actually don't mind that KhaoFirst got a 2-pair main lead instead of a solo pair show because the pairs seem very connected with each other. Seems like it's inspired by Taming of the Shrew and 10 Things I Hate About You rather than a novel. I wonder if I should watch 10TIHAY just to see what references and such they put in.

A few hours later and I just watched 10 Things I Hate About You lol I get the "date my older brother so that we can date" thing now. I suppose Dunk's character is the "wild" character who can handle his brother Joong's character.

Title: Friendshit Forever

Thoughts: Mook and Pat and New and Boun. It Could be good but idk if i’ll watch it. Pat playing a character who is a shitty friend, a la PSIHY. Title reminds me of Dead Friend Forever. I will say the best part of the trailer was the first few seconds when I was wondering if we’d get a Pat/Mook GL.

Title: Perfect 10 Liners

Thoughts: It could be good but I don’t care about any of the actors or pairings in this. PerthChimon were the most intriguing in this though, I liked the parallel on”Are you dating anyone?” Directed by New Siwat, yeah dunno about this one tbh. bruh so many people on stage, were they all actually there in the trailer? There are a bunch of side BL couples in addition to the main 3? crazy fr. and they couldn’t throw in a side GL either?

Apparently this is gonna be 30 eps with 10 eps each of ForceBook, MarkJunior, and PerthChimon... gonna take months and months to air fr, meaning stuff could have to wait while this show keeps airing... agh. or maybe this could prevent another rerun so who knows.

Title: Us

Pair: gorgeous girls who i don’t know the names of. Emi/Bonnie

Did I know about this? I knew about a possible Emi/Bonnie GL but I didn’t know who they were. hm Us, did we expect this novel as well, I vaguely remember having seen this novel rumored to be a series.

Thoughts: GL? These GLs being about your brother/sister’s girlfriends. omg she’s the one pairing the postcards? ahhh GL KISS IN TRAILER! Oh I’m excited and also love the short haired girl’s face sooooo much. Another melodramatic GL a la Pluto, I’m looking forward to it! Is this by the same author as GAP/Pluto/Blank? People always mention how problematic her novels are and somebody mentioned they don’t like the source material for this show either but I love a little problematic romance, so we shall see. Fon is the director.

After Rewatch: Went to MDL to double-check that the girl with cropped hair is Emi (she is! beautiful!) and the rights to this were brought like 2 years ago or what? Over a year ago at least since the comments have been waiting for announcement since then. Dang the acquirement rumour was on r/GMMTV back in February last year, so I probably saw it back then. The plot is quite straightforward, seems like it's focused way more on interpersonal relationships. Love the moody, indie nature of the angsty scenes but then they're so charming and bright when they're like happy and together! Also very happy to see like passionate kissing and romantic physical affection between the women even in the trailer, I'm hoping they have great romantic chemistry in the show. Doubt we'll get this one before 2025 though since it's directed by P'Fon and she's directing High School Frenemy right now and also has Scarlet Heart TH to do. I doubt GMMTV would air 3 GLs in a year already lol, so I'm hoping at least Pluto comes out this year and US is one of the first things out last year at the latest.

Thoughts: Oh, a BL? So many GMMTV people who I don’t know these days. Another idol BL similar to Only Boo but more mature ig? Is this EstWilliam? I’ve seen so many people excited for their BL but idk their faces lol. It’s a Parbdee project? Exciting. I like the vibes of it. I hope they do the celebrity/commoner aspect well, I like an idol romance in theory (and in fic lol) but I don't think I've yet watched one that I've enjoyed.

After Rewatch: I randomly started seeing Est and William posts start popping up on r/GMMTV a few weeks ago and then this master thread was created for it as well. I didn't know who they were (apparently a LYKN boy and a new GMMTV actor with side roles in the past) so I was just mildly curious but it's fun that this came true. When the trailer first started, I didn't know this guy was Est, so I was like oh nooo I don't wanna watch a show about not being able to find jobs and being a loser or something lol but seems like he finds his gig early enough into the show. The trailer is even better on the 2nd watch when I know what's going on lol. The background music really suits it, it stood out to be during the first watch as well. The trailer is 4 minutes and seems fairly fleshed out, I wonder... if we can hope that it's one of the first ones to film from the 2nd half? It's done by Parbdee who have a few projects this year but the director is Mui Aticha who doesn't have anything else lined up for the year since Beauty Newbie? So maybe she can work on this soon? Crazy resume though, The Gifted, F4, Girl From Nowhere, etc. I wonder how she'll do with this one though since it's a more grounded romance like Beauty Newbie (which didn't receive good feedback rip).

Thame is William and Po is Est and from the characters + how people referred to them during the conference after the trailer, seems like they're going for WilliamEst? Interesting because everybody on the subreddit was just reading calling them EstWilliam lol I enjoy them switching it up a bit to play with expectations and cast based on the characters rather than which order people think the people themselves should be. WilliamEstWilliam would've been fun too. The next day and Est has posted pictures with #WilliamEst. Funny to have William-Williamer-Williamest.

I hope the mood and vibe of it being calmer and romantic and the drama from the celebrity idol life remains true, I don't want it to become more light-hearted and comedic, nor do I want it to become Extra Angsty or anything.

Also, it's such a fascinating yet baffling choice to me to have LYKN star as Mars. You're going to have your own boy group act as the group that's getting broken up by their company and who some company exec calls "losers" except the one guy who's gonna debut in Korea? And also, it's gonna show how not being able to date or come out sucks but it's not like GMMTV is gonna change that for LYKN like group, only for Mars the fictional band in the show lol. and fans wouldn't like it if William has a partner other than Est either. hilarious idk

Side note but every time I think of the title Thame-Po, I think of the song Thaam Lo even though the pronunciation isn't the same.

WilliamEst ship: Okay it's the night of the 24th, so it's been like a day but I'm quite into the ship itself idkkk man, I get why people on the gmmtv sub were going crazy about them for the past month. The thing is they're like so shy on stage when talking about the show omg, I enjoy seeing a ship being shy and unsure when first introduced to the public and they haven't quite figured out how to work everything out yet, it's cute. I also have learned that William is a 05 liner while Est is 01 and I need them to have the same age gap in the show pleaseee, I love a younger pursuer character for real. I know Thame calls Po Phi in the trailer though, so we know William plays a younger character at least

Thoughts: girl I was already like hehe KristSingto as expected BUT THEY ATE EXES!!!!! I love exes-to-lovers and it’s kinda funny since it parallels their ship work. huhhh wtf was that random ass car accident? hah I’m excited for this too. We knew the director is P’Lit who directed SOTUS.

After Rewatch: I thought it parallels KS's journey of Singto leaving GMMTV then him coming back and doing a BL with Krist again (kinda of exes-to-lovers if you squint) while the guy-fucks-up-and-is-crucified-on-the-internet could be parallel Krist's journey and turns out P'Aof wrote the script based on Krist Singto themselves, that's wild. The university days drinking pink milk really gives me a visceral reaction. I LOVE the look on Krist's face when he looks back at Singto in the towel and then quickly turns have his face like O.O it's very cute, I giggled the first time too. They seem to show stuff toward the end like with Krist winning the award again and Singto deciding to leave and also this random ass accident (seems like people are trying to kill Krist? What with the random motorcycle guy as well). I don't tend to like too much info in a trailer (over 4 minutes?!) but maybe if it means that we'll get it as one of the earlier part 2 shows because the script is written, I'll take it. I don't know if that's the case though because Aof is overseeing/scriptwriting and he's a busy man (though Director Lit doesn't have other shows I don't think)

Title: Scarlet Heart Thailand

Thoughts: Not really a trailer, as they sometimes arent with these remakes. Scot’s are all pretty big hitters, especially Tu and Win, along with some people I’m looking forward to like Fourth, Phuwin, Tay, Nanon. Directed by Fon. I don’t know what this show is about at all though.

Observations:

Interesting to go from watching The Warp Effect where I knew pretty much everybody to these trailers where there are so many people whom I don’t know, including main actors for BLs and GLs (Est/William, Emi/Bonnie). Good chance to get to know them if the shows turn out well though!

On that note, it's always interesting when they choose completely new ships to be the main couple of a show, again like Us and Thame-Po. This also means a lot of the familiar main or side BL couples are in ensemble shows like Perfect 10 Liners (there were so many people in that, I couldn't even keep track of them all).

High School: 1

University: 2

Non-School: 10 (or 11 with Ossan's Love)

Very few school shows comparatively, just 3/13, less than a quarter. That's exciting, I'm especially glad that being out of school doesn't just mean office worker shows lol

The puns never end: Friendshit, Revamped, Hide & Sis, Thame-Po (Tempo - 50% pun), The Ex-Morning. Hilarious that there are more shows with puns in their names than school shows.

Overall:

More shows grabbed my interest in this round I think. It seems like a more somber/serious set of trailers than part 1, which is cool.

Also, most of the trailers seem well-made, not necessarily in terms of story because they don't have full plots and stories yet, but in terms of production/quality.

I just hope the scriptwriting for these shows are strong, especially because they're dealing with interesting concepts like idol romance and exes-to-lovers. The concepts are soooo good but bad screenwriting or a story that doesn't deal with the interesting aspects can make the show fall flat.

I'm also glad that there is a mix of old ships, new ships, and totally new faces for these BLs and GL Like we have shows with established main pairs like KhaoFirst-Joongdunk and Forcebook-PerthChimon in ensemble shows, we have interesting situations like KristSingto which is a returning main couple and BounPrem which is an old series but revamped ;) for their GMMTV debut, but then we have a ship like MarkOhm where Mark has been in multiple shows and ships but he's leading in a series with somebody completely different. Then we have Emi-Bonnie and WilliamEst who are new faces as GMMTV leads and their ships are completely brand new.

In Part 1, it was similar in that we had stuff like main roles for existing ships with OffGun - The Trainee and GeminiFourth - My Love Mix-Up, ensemble with existing ships (We Are - PondPhuwin etc), had existing actors in new ships like OhmLeng in Kidnap or JossGawin in My Golden Blood, we had new ships like GreatInn in Wandee Goodday,

All in all, a good part 2, I'm glad I watched it live, it was exciting and I'm looking forward to these shows (though I'm not holding my breath though lol because part 1 shows still gotta be released). I really like these showcases and I'm kinda glad that now it's split into 2 because I get a new one every 6-7 months instead of once a year haha

Actually no my main gripe: Where are all the women? Us, Hide & Sis, and Friendshit Forever seem to be the only shows that focus on more than one woman and the BLs basically have no women, or possibly 1 female side character. Why can't they have side GL pairings or multiple women in the same show, truly what the heck? I hope that more women are cast in the shows as they start writing scripts and such, like a side GL in Us or a side GL in Perfect 10 Liners among all the BL pairs.

I wanted to send an ask but I did't want to bother you, but since other peeps did that might shoot my shot. In the poem he says that when the time comes (the second resurrection most probably) he'll lie down beside A.L and die. In the dream, he says to Harrow that the Tomb is his self preservation in a box and that the apocalypse is the death of God(he was talking about the second resurrection). He needs Alecto to do it, and they are connected so if she dies he dies and vice versa.1/2

Does he (and Alecto) have to die for the resurrection to happen? Or they can pull a Paul? John wanted to be used and consumed by Alecto after all. Also this implies that he has been suicidal for ten thousand years but that's another matter entirely. I love your John metas so I thought you could offer some insight about the use of the word "die" in the poem? If I'm bothering you I apologize tho,,, 2/2

OK I am FINALLY getting around to answering this. And you are not bothering me at all, I LOVE getting asks like this

I had honestly not thought about the possibility of John and Alecto pulling a Paul ('pull a paul' is also my new favorite wording to describe that moment thank you)

That's super fascinating as a concept because in theory I feel like, if Cam and Pal were able to do that, John should be able to as well? On the other hand we still don't know a lot about the particulars of John and Alecto's situation and if there are specific limitations or weirdness tied to their particular bond (seeing as the soul of the entire earth might be a different situation than two normal human souls).

The use of the word die in the poem at the start of NtN is super interesting. The way it is very seamlessly integrated in next to sleep ("Lie down beside you; die; and sleep the night") the way it is composed leaves some ambiguity over whether this reference to dying is metaphorical in some sense, or literal. In reference to his 'killing' Alecto at the lyctor's request John says that he "switched her off." Could John hypothetically lay down beside her in this same sort of 'sleep' state? No clue, a this point there are so many questions about the logistics of how this all works.

The wording of the NtN poem also makes me thing of Augustine's statement to mercy right after she kills John (the one culminating in "my bones will rest easy next to your bones.")

Both sentiments, the poem's and Augustine's speech, feature that idea of starting over, albeit John's being more ominous, and also based in vengeance and the idea of a 'clean slate' ("empty's just another word for clean," "first-draft dream" etc.) And like I said, John's sentiment here is also based in his rage and desire for vengeance/retribution ("When everyone who fucked with me is dead.") I think that the way John's sentiment here contrasts with Mercy/Augustine's desire for regrowth in a home "not paid for with blood" is very interesting (I also find that line interesting in what "paid with blood" implies about how much Mercy and Augustine know about what happened in the past). But anyway, I just think it's neat how if you contrast John's sentiment with Mercy/Augustine's here it really does highlight the degree to which C—'s "John you care less about being a saviour than you do about meting out punishment" is such a telling and accurate character read on John's state of mind as he descended further and further into that anger and helplessness in the backstory (a state of mind that you have to imagine has only grown more entrenched over the past ten thousand years).

Staying on this topic, in his final conversation with Harrow John very much showcases this idea of a clean slate etc. "You can wash things clean. That's all the end of Earth was...making things clean. It gets dirty again, you clean it again." I know I'm not pointing out anything profound here, but I do just think this idea of a clean slate, of starting over, is pretty key to John and what John's actions might be in AtN. And of course he is not set on this course of action, he has the whole bit about "I wouldn't be able to touch them" and the tomb being his "self-preservation in a box." Aka we see these two sort of conflicting desires in John, and I feel like we are likely going to see this be a key aspect of AtN

But anyway, I really do find it interesting to compare and contrast the NtN poem and John's musings to Harrow at the end of NtN with Augustine's speech in HtN. The NtN poem references pulling up the sheets, lying down, dying/sleeping etc. And then you have the poem's "Forgiveness not so hard, nor anger long; Our graves will be less deep, our lies less true" from the poem, compared with Augustine's "Then let us not seek out forgiveness, but forgetfulness," he said, "Bury me next to you in that unmarked grave, Joy. We know that was the only hope we ever had—that we would live to see it through...and pray for our own cessation."

I don't have anything eloquent to say on these parallels at this point, but I feel like there's something there. These ideas of laying down, of resting/dying, of a new start. Both of these sentiments have those ideas in them, but within different contexts. Augustine's speech is a desire for regrowth and healing and a new start, even if he and Mercy won't get to live in that new home where "flowers will die on necromancy's grave" (god i love that line). In contrast, the NtN poem and John's statement to Harrow is pondering a wiping clean, a starting over in a biblical flood sense. The idea of discarding a "first-draft dream." There's also the ambiguity of what this 'wiping clean' would do to John. Would it entail some form of cessation for him, and that's why he wouldn't be able to "touch them," or would he continue to exist (I feel like "I can start over" does sort of imply that he would continue to exist, as does the referencing the biblical flood, but idk. I also have to wonder how far this wiping clean would spread, and what exactly would it entail. Just the solar system? etc.)

The line "In the appointed hour I'll pull up your sheets. I'll kill the light, Lie down beside you; die, and sleep the night" also to me seems like it may be referencing very specifically what the wiping clean might entail. Which I suppose is the answer I've been working to for this question dfghj. Does "killing the light" mean that to do this wiping clean he would kill (or you know, re-kill) the sun? Would this wiping clean mean killing the sun, wiping out the nine houses, then lying down and 'dying' next to Alecto? Does "sleep the night" reference a permanent death/slumber, or something more temporary (just for "the night") etc. I am just asking questions, not answering them I know sdfghj. The start of the poem says the morning is "When everyone who fucked with me is dead. When everyone we loved has gone or fled." And he promises to wake Alecto when that has happened. Would this wiping clean accomplish that? A lot of this depends, I suppose, on if his wiping clean would just destroy the nine houses and not be a wider scale thing (his mentioning that he hasn't done it because "I can't bear the idea that I wouldn't be able to touch them—that they'd still be out there" implies a lack of totality in this wiping the slate. Although alternatively it could be taken to mean that his plan would involve some form of cessation on his part, which would thus mean he could no longer have the ability to "touch them"). Would John's desire be to wipe clean the state, then lie down next to Alecto and sleep/die? And if so, would this me permanent, or would this involve a waking down the line? And I mean then I am not even properly looking at the whole "self-preservation in a box" and "death of God" thing. I realize I have been real time ranting here about the specifics of this poem, but not getting into heavily considering those lines and what they mean for all of this. I have become entirely incoherent at this point I know, because there's just so much to think about here and so many ways to read that poem (and then of course the ending but referencing graves "less deep" and lies "less true" also brings in questions and various ways to read this all.

But ANYWAY, to try and return to the meat of your question vis a vis do John and Alecto have to die for the resurrection to happen, my unsatisfying answer is, I don't know. Aasdfgh. I am sorry, I know this turned into an incoherent and messy badly done literary analysis, and for that I DO apologize, but this question ended up bringing a TON of questions, ideas, and thoughts into my head (as you can I am sure tell by the fact that I went off on novel length semi-related tangents). I am sure I am likely at points doing some wonderfully clumsy misreadings or misinterpretations. Forgive me on this front, I'm very sleepy.

As a final note, this also just reminded me of conversations I've had with my partner where we discuss speculation about what John's final fate might be. I really don't see him being anything like some traditional final boss fight, that just seems both antithetical to his character, and also just not really fitting the narrative that Tamsyn Muir has been building here. Although what do I know? But yeah, I feel like John's end will be something tragic in a very Greek tragedy sense. Is this final tangent related to my above tangents? Loosely. This entire response is like seeing adhd going wild inr eal time (because that is in fact what it is).

Ok you know what i just gotta write out my feelings on the new Miraculous movie. I have both good and bad things to say. I will be rewatching it cause i was pretty biased (we'll get to that) and maybe reposting this with my new thoughts afterwards cause this is a lot.

THUS: READ MORE AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION and understand that most of this is based on personal perception, preferences, and an element of nostalgia/frustration (ive been watching this show since season one, would not have made it this far if I didnt have FEELINGS about Miraculous). but take everything with a sprinkle of salt.

THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS ABOUT THE NEW MIRACULOUS MOVIE UNDER THE CUT

1. Pacing felt like the biggest issue. A lot of stuff was happening, and a lot of big moments were happening, but there was nothing inbetween that made them feel like they flowed into eachother, and a lot of the character/relationship "development" relied on the viewers previous knowledge of the show, even tho its pretty clear the movie was doing stuff very differently in terms of characters and relationships. Do i understand this is a 1hr 40min movie trying to encapsulate the slowburn romance and 5 seasons worth of content in a way that caters to the fans of said 5 seasons? Yes, its a huge ask for what is essentially 5 episodes (average 20 mins long). Especially with the amount of exposition the concept of Miraculous requires. Is it still disappointing, considering the movie left out information because of its audience and still rushed through important stuff to just get to the "juicy" moments? Yeah

2. Visuals were lovely, as was the music and specific moments. Honestly if the pacing wasnt such an issue and everything was developed more, the Ladybug and Ladynoir songs (maybe even the Hawkmoth one too) would be really enjoyable as a way to progress stuff and show development. Im also a sucker for dramatic visuals during musical numbers to help emphasize the feelings/emotions of the characters, and it really showcases the potential benefits the animation could add to the show as a medium

3. I actually really liked movie!Marinette (partly cause she wasnt a stalker and creep about her crush on Adrien) qnd because she had a much more sarcastic and bantering attitude, even outside of the costume, which made Ladybug an alter ego more than a complete other person (which is a slight issue ive had with the show). The scene of her growing into her civilian persona and becomign more confident actually made me really happy, especially her standing up to Chloe

4. Movie!Chat Noir kinda pissed me off ngl, and felt very disconnected from movie!Adrien (or at least how he was shown). People have said movie!Adrien is much more depressed/isolated and acts appropriately as to his home life (and dont get me wrong, i loved his scene where he stood up to Gabriel), but i think thats why his relationship with Ladybug and complete 180 as Chat Noir feels so off to me? Like his almost "meanness" with Ladybug at first from being super cocky and then doesnt even apologize for his treatment of her even after he falls for her just throws me off (tbf ive always been biased against the "cocky assholes falling for people who put them in their place" trope, so this might just be a me thing). Idk, it just doesnt sit right with me

4b. Anyone else notice Adrien didnt even get chosen for being kind? Plagg just appeared in his bedroom? Like Marinette almost got ran over from saving Master Fu and then Adrien is just like Yo A Cool Ring. Idk, its funny but that felt weird to me

5. The stupid freaking montage. Yall cannot even imagine how much I hate the montage. If they had replaced the montage with one scene and maybe cut down the magician and mime fight to add another scene in to focus on marinette + adrien friendship and then adrien personal life development or chat noir + ladybug bonding/respect for EACH OTHER i think it would have elevated the movie to new heights. The montage essentially was the movie pressing fast forward x3 on any development of characters. Its because of montages like these that make me appreciate filler or fun episodes in any show, because when you just stick a montage in then you feel like youre watching coworkers kiss when the movie is trying to convince you theyre starcrossed ride or die lovers. Made me feel like i watched the origins episode and then the season 5 finale with just the stormy weather 2 episode inbetween. Hate it.

6. Movie!Tikki has personality and movie!Plagg is a fart machine. I think its clear theres a favorite. Feels like it reflects the focus on Marinette and lack thereof on Adrien as a character present in both the show and the movie. Hardly a new observation, just food for thought.

7. ¿¿¿¿¿¿movie!Hawkmoth/Gabriel???? That basically sums up how I feel about him but to explain theres just very little done with him i feel. Plus it seems like all his Hawkmothing around actually takes a toll on his wellbeing, which is really cool and interesting, but it just comes out of nowhere afTER THE STUPID MONTAGE. Like id love to see the kind of degradation of his health, mental physical and emotional, as he works to revive Emilie, cause you cant tell me thay wouldnt make stuff a lot more interesting (i know he got catacylsmed but the show just treated it as an outfit change and checking his arm like a clock until the season finale, so it doesnt really count for me), but mans just shows up looking like a wreck and fights with Adrien

7b. Also i was pretty confused about how him breaking/rejecting his akuma at the end of the movie worked, and him just having all the powers ever while akumatized?? But that's just me being picky at a superhero show where magic animal jewelry exists

8. Movie!Chloe and movie!Sabrina felt more real in a way? Like Chloe was just stuck up and self centered, not actively making everyones life hell, and Sabrina didnt just blindly follow her along (i ADORED when she let Marinette escape and when she shrugged at her during the ball, you go girl you have that personality and self-consciousness the show never allowed you to have until the last moment), it was more a reluctant follower ignoring a friend's red flags ya know? Movie!Chloe wasnt the mayors daughter who had control over every adult in Paris and would literally become a dictator if elected. She was just freaking out at Marinette for "ruining" her sweater. Shes still a bully/mean kid, but shes dialed back, which i think makes her much better.

9. Alya and Nino were just kind of chilling, i dont have any feelings about their characters except how terrible Nino is at advice, and Alya was set up as a good friend throughout the movie, so i appreciate her supportiveness of Marinette. Tom and Sabine were set up to do more/be more important in the movie (I was so sure Tom was gonna be akumatized at the fair, but nope), but were kind of dropped halfway? Like Tom was set up as the overprotective and loving kinda helicopter father who would go all the way to the fair in disguise to watch over Marinette, and then he was just never mentioned again after Marinette felt embarrassed by him at said fair. Wasted opportunity and time for a movie with so much issue in pacing

10. I saw buggachat say this movie felt like an animated fanfiction of MLB and I have to say i completely agree. I dont mean that in a bad way, i love fanfiction with all my heart and you can clearly see that the movie and a lot of fanfiction fixes the issues many fans have with the show. But the thing is, this is a full movie, not a collection of one-shot specific scene rewrites. Thus, for it to be successful in "rewriting" or creating an alternate version of MLB, it has to include those in-between moments, not just the juicy identity reveal, or the "my heart belongs to another " moment, or even the "Gabriel actually cares about his son" moment. Is the movie good at those moments? Goodness yes. It definitely has its humor, its enjoyment that you can tell is a gift to the fans. But as a movie, a whole animated film, it disappoints.

10b. I mean for goodness sake they didnt even mention that Catacylsm was a thing until it was used, and Lucky Charm wasnt utilzed at all, just the fixing power (that might just be a genuine change they made so Ladybug wasnt too unbalanced with Chat Noir tho)

OK IM DONE, phew. Those are my major thoughts from the day after watching the movie, and im going to watch it again more carefully later. Ill not to be so personally biased and to just enjoy it. Who knows, maybe ill think differently afterwards.

Hi all, I have some Milgram observations to bring in the table.

Thos came to my mind in light of Muu's second MV release and there being a new increase of people being very ... "oh no, how can you mischaracterize a character so much, bohoo" going around.

This is absolutely not only a thing that applies to Muu, but it became especially apparent again, because opinions there seem to be quite heated.

So what we want to take a look at here is:

The inability of people to read tone of voice

That first sounds a little mean, but I don't mean it that way at all. Reading a person's tone correctly can be a problem for a lot of people, especially people who are on the autism spectrum and similar. So it's not uncommon at all. So it comes at no surprise that this highly influences how some people might read a character and that it comes to differences in opinion.

I will use Muu here as the prime example, because she has A LOT of emotion to her words, which makes it easy to showcase. First, we have to start with my stance on Muu though. In the beginning I had her coined as a character I might quite like, but once I got to listen to her first VD my suspicions began to rise already. And at this point I can say Muu is a character I very much dislike, because all my suspicions just got proven right with each new relevation that happened.

So what threw me off in her first VD that gave me a hint that she might be not just "the poor pitiful bullied girl"? It was the threat towards the end towards Es. The "I won't forgive you if you don't vote me innocent."

People also like to consider it a bad take when I claim that Muu is very clearly lacking in remorse and compassion/empathy. But I think it's very obvious? The WAY she is speaking is not like a traumatized teen, she is not weaseling her way out of the blame as a defense mechanism, she just ... simply does not see anything wrong with her actions. Let's take a look at another voice line for that, from the t1 voice trailer, her distorted voiceline. "It's their fault for doing terrible things to me first." Along with a little giggle and said pretty cheerfully for such a statement. Well, by now we know that this is not only a lie, with Muu having been a bully first before she got a taste of her own medicine, but also it always seemed very not genuine even without that context. Muu sees nothing wrong with murdering her victim at all, that is her belief. And if Rei (yay, we finally got a name for her yesterday) really just stood up against Muu and exposed her for her bullying ... well, I'll just say, that is already a good reason to dislike Muu a fair bit.

Even more of "tone of voice speaking volumes" we have in INMF. So much indeed. The song is very much Muu showing her true colors to us, now the she got affirmed, she is not demonizing herself, that is how she is and she is not afraid anymore to show it. There is a lot of high and mighty in the way she is saying/singing things here, very good examples being the "You know the consequences, right?" parts, but also just overall. The way that she likes to present herself as whiny with fake-crying behaviour to garner pity from people is also very apparent here, with what got translated as these drama queen lines ... a bit free form, but it actually hits the tone well. Best example is the line right after we see her stabbing Rei, where she just absolutely sounds like a whining child.

I could also go into a lot more with her second VD and how it showcases perfectly does she does not care about people as people, but as convenient tools, but for that I would have to go into a lot more detail than just the tone she is saying things in, and that's not the plan here right now.

Fuuta is another one who got hit with the whole problem. When people started to claim that he is not feeling sorry, I was just like "did you not hear his terror and panic in Backdraft and ESP in his second VD??" The man is absoluty terrified about how his actions got so out of hand, of course he is feeling remorse.

There are more fine nuances here, and I could ramble on some more, but I think I got the core point across.

And no, this is not meant as a Muu hate post or anything, it's just my opinion and observation. And before anyone claims that: no, this is not about Haruka either, his involvement might add some fuel to the fire for me, but you could completely take him out of the equation and I would still dislike Muu for all the same reasons.

oh my god mag 39 is literally one of my favorite episodes, i have so many thoughts i am so normal about this episode (it gave me the tma brain worms)

there's so much that happens in this episode and its all so good but one of my favorite things is the way it showcases the character dynamics and we learn a little bit more about the other characters outside of the bits we get from the statement recordings. i love the og archival assistant team so much i wish we could stay in those silly goofy bits forever :( tma is *through tears* an office comedy

the amount of iconic moments from this episode too like jon asking martin if he's a ghost, statement of joe spooky, tim breaking through the wall (i think about his "hi guys!" everyday,, season one tim you will always be famous), martin talking about recording his poetry on the tapes (AND THE PAUSE AFTERWARDS FOLLOWED BY JON'S 'i see' IT GETS ME EVERYTIME), its all so good man and its just such a good insight into the different characters ughfje i love it sm

i love the writing in this episode too, the whole episode consistently keeps you on your toes and its all so balanced, like in the same episode as the statement of joe spooky we get jon talking about how he doesn't want to be a mystery (sobbing on the floor in mag 200) it has such a good mix of emotion, character, fear, all of it

GOING BACK TO JON TALKING ABOUT BEING A MYSTERY TOO ACTUALLY- jon being vulnerable!! him admitting that he's scared!! all of it gets me every single time, that whole bit had me on the floor the first time i heard it and it adds a whole new layer to jon's character that continues to get expanded on later and its just!! so good!!

i feel like there's so much worldbuilding in this episode too (like when jon talks about feeling like he's being watched when recording statements) and just the little bread crumbs this episode starts to leave (or dare i say string,, g-get it cause the web)

and finally- SASHAAHSE (my fav girlboss miss you everyday bbygirl) i have so many thoughts about sasha and the not!them but lord everyday i wake up and suffer remembering what happens to her. (aside from that, i really love the whole scene she has with bitch boy elias especially with the power of hindsight and seeing him just waiting and watching what was happening and knowing it was just a part of his plan) i feel so terribly for sasha tho man she did not deserve the end she got at all, keep kayaking up there in heaven queen

bonus thoughts:

i love the sound effects in this episode like the pasta worm sounds?? absolutely amazing i have no idea how they did it but it worked

now me personally? i could fix jane prentiss i know i could, jane <3 though i definitely feel for her as a character, i think about her such an normal amount

First off I want to tell you that your trouble series has been living rent free in my head for literally years. It's one of those ones that's just never left. The one where they go to wakanda to dance in the rains was amazing - to the point I had started reading it on the train into work and quite literally worked out how to sit with my phone on the desk throughout the morning in order to finish it.... it was that good! (Maybe shouldn't admit that tho).

I loved the introduction of Kevin and the boys and just all the dynamics. I've also had a thought about the characters in my mind that won't go. I don't mean it to be demanding or anything btw I just wanted to share and wondered if you had any thoughts around it?

I just always wondered if similar to the one where the boys were caught drinking during the gala and were punished in the side room all together, they were all in a situation - sans superhero suits etc - and Peter is in full sub mode, restrained someway by Tony so Tony has all the power, and the others are all observing. Perhaps it is another spanking like before.

However, in the middle of it - Peter whimpering, apologising to Tony, Tony reminding him whose in charge - Peter suddenly freezes, mutters the word "red" and jumps into action. There's an intruder or assassin or someone trying to hurt them outside the door. Before they even have a chance to attack, Tony being defenceless and the others not able to help, Peter manages to take them down and restrain them while Tony calls for back up. While waiting Peter is composing himself and getting presentable for the coming agents/police. Afterwards once they are all alone again, Peter apologises for ending his punishment early and asks Tony if he'd like to continue? While the others are just looking at them like ???

I know it seems kinda random and probably not what you'd be interested in but I think it must be easy for the others to forget quite how capable Peter is. Like Tony is human, do you think they sometimes forget that the difference between is so much? Like I know everyone in that sort of relationship is there because they allow themselves to submit (or at least they should be) but I just imagine everyone getting odd reminders like that, that Peter could literally snap Tony in half if he wanted, rather than him willingly submitted to allow himself to be spanked etc?

Anyway, sorry this was really rambley I just wanted to let you know that I loved your series (still do) and Tony, Pepper, Peter, Kevin and the boys continue to live in my mind whether I give them permission to or not...

I'd have to write it my way! But! I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything about the soul of this prompt. Peter IS in the relationship consensually. He totally is 100% capable of snapping Tony like a twig (sans suit) at any point- including when Tony's got him exactly where Tony wants him, in a headspace where he's ceding authority and control to Tony. Okay so what happen was, one day there was a tv crew outside my high school and school just ended. So while I was waiting to go home, the crew was interviewing students. And they came to me and asked if they could interview me. I for some reason couldnt decline them. They just told me to talk about my idol. I looked at my friend and asked her "Who should I talk about?" "Batman, you wont shut up about him" (She was right 😐)

...So yeah, I just talked about why Batman was my idol in my school uniform VERY seriously in the national language. Cause the tv crew was actually from a non-English news station. Lo and behold, some time later my friend sent a link to the new program where my part was showcased. So in the entire news section, there was just kids talking about their parents and how hardworking they were, I was the only 16/17 talking about Batman and how he fights crime 😭 but without context it looks like I'm talking about the cure of cancer or some shit, I dont know why I was so damn serious 💀 I'm not sure what the program was even about lol. So yeah, the news got pretty famous in school cause only around 2/3 people from my school was showcased and I was called Batman for some time after that 😂 Sometimes random people would just yell Batman at me and I have no clue who they are lmao 💀 I had a taste of fame and I'm still chasing that high 😅 it was fun times for sure

I’d be a deer in the headlights. I’m an introvert.😅. This is the first time I have interacted with people differently.

But to be in the news would be awesome and your friend deserves a reward. She waited until she saw it one day and said, “V would love to see this.” Haha, I would do the same thing in her shoes. But wow her just saying you should. Oh lord, I would have done it too. Just became a robot. Then afterward like I said that why did I say that. But that's me. I don't like speaking much as my voice is naturally lower. So when I speak louder it's like I'm screaming and that hurts my ears.

I will say DC stuff was always expensive for me too. I did more of save the birthday money and Christmas money and was like I want this. But yeah the Batman theme was great. I always kept a darker theme in my bedroom. And clothes. So maybe that's just me.

Now V you do know that you can dress up now. In the safety of your own home. I have stuff that not even my very very close friends know about. 😁( besides there are other holidays to dress up even if it’s for yourself.)

Now the pillow sewed is adorable that’s something that can be treasured for life. And I’ll encourage you to make your apartment a Batcave theme. That looks awesome. We need to fix this only Batman thing. There must be a way for more Batman stuff V. You can do it. (Unless you are in school or saving money don’t do it. I understand as I’m a student as well.) But birthdays are a day to spoil yourself.

I'm happy you liked the Fluff. Vanessa is different from my other ROs as her personality changes depending on when or how I write her. Like when I first wrote scenes of her after Aspen's death the “Wonderful” Mother showed up. Vanessa was harsh and in a way, I had never seen her as. Well in a way I’ve written her as cold and not feeling anything and that Vanessa. She scared me. Seeing her thoughts in that way was hard.

Now Vanessa would love all the hugs and kisses in the world. Especially with the hell, she’s been through. (All the characters have pain and it’s not on purpose. I let them write themselves at specific times. 🤔 it’s hard to describe.)

Vanessa is in some ways a kid still. Vanessa needed to grow up to survive but she has moments when she’s a little girl again and can be free. After all with her lifespan just barely a dent in it, she has time for it.

Yes, Gracie is very adorable. Her ear was not always like that. I got her before I graduated high school. (You might be older than me. 😅 most of you are so hello 👋.) When my mom brought her home it was more of you always wanted a dog so I got one now that you're older. And Gracie's tail did not go up for 🤔 I think two months. I was staring at her one day and poked near her paw. And then we started playing and it started to wag so fast I was laughing and just happy. I didn’t feel like that in years of the shit I went through with people. Then I think roughly a year later her ear was up. Funny enough it was both but over time it was just one. And it’s up all the time. But If a strange noise or if a dog barks far away both will shoot up, to me she looks like bar ears. Haha yes, I did a comparison to a bat. Gracie loves pets not hugs as much she’ll let you but then will pull away. But if you did meet her she’s more of a pet my butt. Yes, Gracie will turn and shove her butt on you.😆😆 I remember when this girl was talking to me. Gracie pranced and did a surprise butt shove to her.

I don’t mind sharing another. I’ll get a more updated one as my phone likes to make pictures disappear. And the travel has been great V. I drove at night while my mom drive during the day. At this point, I just think he’s a dad, and I don’t think badly of him for it. Mistakes when you’re young and going through the shit he was going through can happen. He’s human, and we don’t have a way to know what happens in his life nor how it made him feel to have a kid this way nor how he tries to make things better. I feel like demonizing him for not having showcased dad of the year behavior in the first years is not fair to him either, as he was in a situation that is very different from Zayn’s or Liam’s for example (I firmly believe Brianna was looking for her 15mins of fame, saw the biggest chance and took it. Hell, she might have lied about being on the pill for what we know, and Louis might have been stupid enough to trust her). Maybe Louis was just trying to make the best of a very very very shit situation. How does that work with HL being together? I don’t know, but at this point I’d rather believe he’s dad than someone who would drag a stunt like this far. I get it that for many people it’s either Larry or believe F is his kid, but honestly I think there’s more nuances than that.

As if you are not aware of the stuff your fans have done/did/could do for you.

I do agree there is nuance in regards of the reasons this has happened. And unfortunately, I think people might not like what I think (that’s why I won’t ever ever say it publicly. It’s between me and Larry), but still Louis is not a father, independently of his relationship status. Also, I’m not one to demonise people cause there will always be reasons we are not aware of, but you are allow to feel disappointed or annoyed. hiii yza… this ask’s a bit of a long one but! thought u might appreciate some svt rambling from yours truly, car crash anon. I was rewatching a bunch of dance practices lately (been on a real svt kick trying to find all the moments of them singing live during dance practices bc I enjoy that. I did find them only I didn’t take any notes which will be tragic for me like a year later I bet) and noticed that like. there’s this part in HOT (the like… post-chorus? whatever comes right after the hot hot hot bit) where both hoshi and dino take center for a brief period, and what they do differs. and the Way it differs is like, the move hoshi does really focuses on his lower body while dino’s focuses like. on the upper body. arms and shoulders. it's a great time for me no matter what bc like hey. my biases. but this did remind me of the kind of unhinged ask I sent u where I mentioned that hoshi like. almost imperceptibly bends his knees a little more in the fear chorus. It did get me thinking tho like. I feel like that’s a really distinctive characteristic of how he dances—the way he uses his lower body, I mean—and I always enjoy taking note of it? it just adds a little extra… pizzazz, yknow? so I thought I’d pick a few moments of like. things I think r really indicative of hoshi’s style. to share. clears throat. firstly in insomnia zero II #1 mingyu makes fun of how hoshi stands and I’ve never stopped thinking about it bc its so true. I genuinely love it. not really music in that one but I have to mention it

off the top of my head, hot & god of music both have hoshi feature in a lil solo dance that draws attention to his legs (god of music to a lesser extent but I did replay the beginning of the little instrumental solo for the god of music dance practice so many times bc hoshi’s legs like shift sooo quickly in his bit)… cheers has his iconic line and that bit definitely has moves centered on his lower body.

okay now moving past the parts that could conceivably be normal to mention lol. in the inside seventeen for the bss circle chart awards around 4:55 hoshi’s fun little improved adlib absolutely counts as smthing that I see and just go “oh that’s so distinctively hoshi” for me. like. the way his hand is on his hip and the exaggerated degree to which he’s leaning. to that regard… if u look up a fancam of crazy in love from the ode to you tour around 2:30 there’s this lil dance break bit they’ve added and like. the Angle at which hoshi puts his hands on his hips is like. he’s bending back and his legs are planted fairly forward and it makes a really striking pose to me. let’s see… there’s also his choreo for bad which is like. that drop where he just like… slowly squats into a kneeling pose is like. yeah. that makes sense. and then there’s a move where he like. bends? rolls? idk he sits a little differently and it’s like. that same thing. OH. ok I think I can describe it. there’s this way that hoshi will like. lean back and SINK into a pose that I really like. like there’s this drop and it feels really… stable? which happens in both fear and crazy in love and in bad. and it happens right at the beginning of touch. love that performance. touch also has his basically doing the limbo in one of the choruses.

(also I didn’t know how to put this in the ask naturally but. I don’t think I’ve seen this opinion before even though I feel like it should be common. So. I just need to mention that crazy in love is simply THE hoshi song for me. like. on the vocals end it’s a GREAT showcase of the different places his voice goes: first lower in the intro, and a really good demonstration of the distinctive way he shapes his vowels, and then after the chorus, it’s higher and lighter, and then he starts off the final chorus and his voice has a different vibe then, too! i really struggled with picking out hoshi’s voice when I first got into seventeen because like… it sounded like different voices at different pitches to me I guess? anyways I wrote a guide to myself about it (out of curiosity I opened up that guide again and. Why is it almost 5000 words.) and I’ve never had trouble since. and then it’s like. he’s always great at dancing and he’s got a lil fun dance break in the ode to you concert. awesome. also I like the song.)
