Memories 2021 Discs 5 - 6

So I asked again when I said I was going to watch memories in full if you would be interested in commentary from me as I did so. There were a lot of people who said yes, so here we are! I have officially watched BTS Memories of 2021. Here are my thoughts as I went. There were 7 DVDs in this one. Reminder that these aren't going to be smoothly written out thoughts. You get these like I'm live reacting, texting my bestie or live tweeting. Lol it'll be in like bullet point format sort of, just... a commentary post as I go. Lol Part 1 and Part 2 here covers Discs 1 - 4. Part 3 here will cover Disc 5 and half of Disc 6. Hope you enjoy anyway! Let's go!

Disc 5

Butter Motion Clip Making Film:

BTS with flowers is such a pretty and wonderful concept for real. When the photographer called Jimin the flower and he got all flustered was so cute! Jhope having a hurt foot and in pain, yet the professional always wins out and you'd never be able to tell from how he took his photos! I hope he healed up quickly! Editors calling Yoongi an Elf 😭 I'm obsessed. JK saying that everyone looked so good in today's outfits/concept! He is so right! The photographer saying to get closer together in a natural way for the group shot and Jhope going "okay okay" and grabbing Jimin by the waist to pull him in close 🥺 cuteee and even directed others into closer poses too! Lol our Dance and Photography Leader 😍 playing rock paper scissors to see how gets to be the top of the pyramid and Yoonmins complete happiness at winning is ADORABLE.

Yoonmin finishing their concept change first and just hanging out on the floor together petting the puppy. 🥺🥺 2seok finishing their shoots and Jin asking Jhope out for a drink! Lol I love the way they joke and flirt with each other like that. It's seriously so cute and it's always the same! I admire the consistency in wanting to go grab that drink together! Jhope laughing about how they do it so much there is even an article out about how they say that 🤣 Jimin going last for the photos and Jin had gone first but he stuck around the whole time to wait for Jimin (getting 2017 spring day flashbacks!) And kept trying to photobomb and crash his photos and clinging to Jimin 🤣 Why are they so flipping cute?! 😭😭😭

2seok making me fall hard for their bond in memories everytime! Lol they get out of their cars and when they see each other immediately start talking over each other trying to compliment the others outfit/hat! Cuteee. During Review of their performance takes, the members point out where they aren't happy but the others are just so complimentary. You are always your own biggest critic for sure! Vmin singing to each other 🥺 After the cut for the Butter performance taekook giggling over how they sang/danced with arms around each other and everyone praising each other. Vmin walking off stage with arms around each other. To be there and just bask in all the love these guys share? How beautiful. Jimin pretending to scold the band member who was late and the band member just giving Jimin a cute high five and making him smile as he ran to his instrument in the back 😂😂 The way Tae was looking Joonie during his PTD verse 🥺 my heart! They all have so much fun during this song!

Filming PTD with the balloons and the each get one. Taekook immediately going crazy wacking them around and on Jin, who just goes "you are such kids" sounding so put out like he doesn't just immediately join them doing the same things 😂 can't fool us Jin! We know you love it! Lol JK boxing all the balloons. Jimin just coming over, holding his hands and pulling him away, their smiles 🥺 the caption lol "quit boxing and come play with me" (moment is the first gif used in the post) Jihope together are so important and bring such a new level to these performances honestly. Jhope learning about specific things like when the balloons are to be released from the staff and then teaching the exact timing to all the other members. Jihope working together during the review process to decide what to change up or refine to make it look better. Jimin taking time to explain it more and help out Jin (in this case) to make sure he understands and helps him practice. They both do this for all the members and it's continually one of my favorite things to see happen. "Showcasing their great teamwork" from the editors as BTS nail each shot. It's so true. JK losing his balloon by accident at ending mentions and then trying to steal Hobis balloon instead 😂🤣

Butter filmed on this bridge was the COOLEST thing. It was also super neat that after it aired an ARMY shared that she could see/hear BTS filming on the shut down bridge by her house. And she recorded it and than sat on that footage AND the news for MONTHS until after they released the performance themselves too! You can watch her video here. Also means that this performance was filmed sometime in June of 2021. I can't believe they rented out the whole bridge. They are so cool. Jikook walking down the bridge talking about how cool it is while doing vocal warm ups together! Namjoon just talking about his respect for all the engineering that went into building this bridge and how well done it is. He is so cute 😭 JK giving everyone tips on the best way to run and slide into the camera frame together during Jins verse to make it look smoothest. He is so cute and honestly SO COOL what an idea! Plus seeing them all running around behind the camera director is always so cute. Lol (save me flashbacks). Namjoon just complimenting Jhope and going "if I could dance like youuuu" 🥺😂 JKs smile at the makeup noona as she was fixing his makeup! How do they not melt into puddles everytime?!

Jin winking into the camera at the start! Whew. Jin: "don't I look cute?" Namjoon: "you do" *smiles* me: *melts into a puddle of adorableness* Yoongi: "Jimin and I are striking the same pose" members all giggle, namjoon: "butter just got cuter" me: *melts further if at all possible" 😭 Jikook looking at each other and smiling during the ending mentions when Jimin was talking about how they get to experience so many new things together as BTS referring to performing on the bridge before it even opens. They are so cute.

PTD Practice and MV Making Film:

Dance Practice before they film the MV! JK helping Tae get the moves down exactly for the chorus and Hobi rounding everyone up to get practice started more seriously. Hobi giving general tips and discussions for the the group as a whole and for their synchronization. Jimin giving Tae more minor and specific tips for help too. 🥺 3J in the practice room is my everything honestly. I'm sure you've all gathered that from these posts at this point. Lol Everyone reviewing their practice and cheering about how during the vminkook part, JK held Tae's hat while he spins out of Jimins way and it stayed on Taes head the whole time making it look like a really cool move! "You'd think we had planned that" nope, just the maknae lines perfect chemistry together. Lol JK boxing Jimins shoulder in between practices too. Cuties. JK really can't ever stop moving!

Onto the MV set with BTS deciding their concept for this MV was a gay western! 😂 the amount of yoonkook its giving me is so good for my soul. Lol JK popping out from behind Yoongi with the BIGGEST smile, melts me. And them dancing together and acting cute 😍 Adorable. JK teaching us all the sign language in the choreo 🥺🥺 JK filming on top of the big truck, and then Jimin joining him! JK helping him up so sweetly and the cute looks they exchanged the whole time they were dancing. So precious! They had fun for sure. "They look more excited because they are together" 🥺 Editors, my heart can't take it! All the tennis ball hair jokes for poor RM 😂 "real friends are merciless when they tease" TELL EM EDITORS lmfao. Filming the group scene and I can't tell if Jin was just pretending to take a nap on JKs shoulder or if he really did doze off in the background there 😂😂 and of course it's not a BTS behinds video if Jinkook aren't fighting at least once. Lol this time with balloons. Jinkook blowing the balloons air in each other's faces, Jimin sitting next to them sighing heavily 🤣🤣 the exasperation! The group hip thrusts are unnecessary. 🤣 whose idea was that?! Idk what kinda dance TaeJin are doing, but it's adorable. Lol with their backs together and arms linked! So cute. TaeJins ice-cream fight of course had to make it into memories as well too! 2seok dancing so excitedly for their duo cut scene that they accidentally danced off center. Lol Jimin jokingly scolding them about how they've been in the industry for HOW LONG and can't stay centered?! 🤣 JK staying late after everyone else to film his solo scene with the spin move he pulled off PERFECTLY. I'm sure Jimin helped him practice it too since it's an iconic move of his! I love it so much!

Day 2 shooting starts off super fun with taejinkook and namgimin trios dancing together in tiny and in sync and having fun! Jimin praising his good hair cut and how cute he looks! Yes sir, I'm glad you know it! Tae wanting to see Jimins cut hair on the recording too! Lol Vmin with the child actors is EVERYTHING. Tae saying he only brought one toy because he didn't know there would be two and promising to buy them more later and Jimin legitimately melting to the ground in a puddle of happiness at the kids calling him "uncle" 😭😭😭 PRECIOUS. Tae holding the kids while they bounce in happiness and looking so cute. Jimin talking with the kids and totally focusing on them and ignoring his poor stylist noona as she tries to fix his clothes for him. They do not make their jobs easy I swear 🤣🤣 Extra Patience has to be part of the job requirements lmfao. JK carrying the little kid back to her dad and the kid telling him that they love JK 100% just like they love their dad. 😭 and JK staying after dropping her off to watch her do the PTD dance and praising her. God they are so cute!! Super random cut scenes of Jikook hugging and Jimin telling JK that he loves him. Lol they are SO CUTE *stomps feet* I can't handle it! Jin doing the PTD dance during ending mentions and Jikook copying him. Lol Hyungs little mini mes. Adding my Post about More Jikookery during this video too!

BTS starting off for Butter and JK being so excited to film at such a foundational place! They were filming in such cool spots for the performance too! Vhope make such a good team. Their fond smiles at each other's ideas and warm-ups were so cute! Lol at the entire team of tannies spread out across multiple streets practicing for when they all come together and dance in the street. Joon waving at them and calling them all in like his little ducklings! 🥺 The cut before Vmins part and so instead of getting ready to dance together they just stare each other down and Jimin grabbing Tae by the neck like that 😳🤣 calm down vmin! Lol I adore them so much.

Lmfao at Tae complaining that someone accidentally kicked him in the shin. And JK reaching out to comfort him only for Tae to whirl around and go "AH SO IT WAS YOU!" 🤣 And it WAS Jungkook 🤣🤣 and they laugh it off. Lol top tier interaction honestly! Jungkook going around with a fan cooling off all the members during the break. Lol including trying to open up Jimins shirt a bit to fan inside his top to help cool his hyung down 🤣🤣

Getting ready for the PTD stage, hyungs all standing calmly, maknaes can't sit still. Business as usual 😂 Jikook taking up SPACE doing the PTD choreo onstage around everyone else. Lol taekook doing their new handshake/shoulder bump before the members all get serious and ready to start! And they of course NAIL IT even though it was super hot and they were all dying a little in the heat. More Jikookery in this post too! And that wraps up Disc 5 for us!!

35th Golden Disc Awards Making Film:

Their first performance of the year! GDA was held on 210109! And it's the return of Yoongi to the stage as well! A very special day indeed! JK being so excited that they were given permission to take the mini sets of the old MVs home and immediately laying claim to the ON set. Lol Jimin really wanted to take home No More Dream. 🥺 Filming their Black Swan intro and Yoongi getting SO SHY AND FLUSTERED over being told to come up center stage and make such a grand entrance. Lmfao the members were LOVING IT and yoongi was so flustered. Adorable to the max. Jikook finding Yoongi SO CUTE as he sinks into the floor to practice the entrance again 😂 so endeared as they watched him lol. Even though he was joining parts of the filming, he Still couldn't dance with the members. So they filmed On without him. But man, when they watched their review back, Namjoon and Jin asking "when can we dance with Suga again?" Broke me. 😭 lmfao the sudden discussion switch up to Namjoons snow ducks. Tannies can't be serious for a SECOND 😂 Jin following Hobi around copying everything he does. And then roping JK into doing it too. And then Jinkook start copying Tae. Who just plays along saying absolute nonsense 😂 the way their volume just keeps increasing 🤣 Hobi laughing his butt off, Jimin just watching it all with a super fond smile before swooping in, saying "let's head in. Taehyung" and leading JK off as well with an arm around his waist. The way JK just fell so easily into Jimins arm and lead is so insanely cute. 🥰 He really said, yall are adorable and I love you, but let's go now. Lol

Getting ready and coming back to perform Dynamite. JinMin walking up together and Jimin just keeps running into and yet bouncing off Jin. Lmfao Jin just can't stop giggling about it either 😂 JK posing in the elevator at the top of the stage and Jimin teasing him saying "you are acting too much like the main character, get down from there" The staff and other members educating RM on the best way to hold his drink glass out 😂 why he is so cute??

And FINALLY Prerecording stages is done and we get to move onto seeing them accept their awards on the actual award show day! JK and the other members can't stop telling the camera and army about JKs "gold" hair for the "golden Disc awards" lol and Namjoon mentioning the best thing about the award show was getting to have Suga back with them to accept it 😭 They missed him SO MUCH. The Tannies putting all their attention on Yoongi again for the ending mentions. Lol once again flustering him with attention. 😂😍 More Jikookery Here!

Watching all the members run around and play in the arcade before filming telepathy was super cute! And Namjoons high notes during vocal warm ups making 3J laugh so hard! I love seeing them have fun! Jimin jumping backwards super fast during B&G after almost getting caught in the camera angle too early lmfao but was also happily showing appreciation for JKs amazing vocals too! Yoongis laughter after YoonJin accidentally crash into each other during B&G. Lol and singing/dancing to Save Me as a Dynamite warm up just for fun! They had a long day filming all 5 stages in one day, but man they killed it. Amazing stages for amazing songs!

🤣🤣🤣 no, let him! I love seeing Joon be confident in his attractiveness! The members all being just as excited about Drummer JK as the rest of us all were when we finally saw it 🤣🤣 Yoongi saying Hobi looked like a magician today in his hat 🥺 Jihope giggling and calling JK cute on the drums while reviewing takes. And during break all the members can't leave the drums alone. Lol Yoongi taking a turn playing. Tae pretending to be JKs drum teacher but accidentally getting the different drum names wrong 🤣 Vmon opera singers. They always are so silly during break time. Jimin sharing during ending mentions that JK had only practiced the drums for Dynamite for just one day, just yesterday. And JK saying, no just this morning. And all the other members being like "wow! I had no idea" and lavishing praise upon JK for his drum talent. I love hearing it!

Everyone being a little nervous and freaked out about performing on the roof 30 stories high! I don't blame them I would be shaking I'd be so nervous!! RM saying he thinks Jihope will be the two most nervous once they get up there. Lol Jimin shouting he is bored and wants to play chopsticks while they wait. So he plays a game with Hobi and JK joins for the next round. I love seeing 3J laughing and having fun together so much. A fierce bottle flipping competition taking place during their break. Lol the members watching back their one shot takes for the start of Dynamite and everyone LOSING IT when Tae winks at the camera. Lmfao Jimin lovingly checking on ARMYs to see if we are okay and if we can survive one of Taehyung's winks 🤣 Jimin and Yoongi can't contain their excitement and keep breaking out into Happy Dances 🥺 JK keeps practicing his turns and his poor makeup/hair noona is legitimately chasing him around the stage trying to touch up his makeup and hair. The man won't BE STILL 😂😂😂. Everyone naming Suga as the MVP for the day for his cute dance moves and just being happy he is back to performing with them! Tae slapping Yoongis butt repeatedly in celebration lol! At the end 2seok taking pictures of each other at the set and Jimin keeps crashing Jins photos. Lol Hobi taking photos for Tae too, which Jimin also photobombs 😂 Jimin ending the film with a Jimin TV report. He goes and films Tae and asks him to act tired, who just does some heavy breathing. He tries again with Hobi who said he can't right now. He goes to JK who when asked to act tired, even mid make up touch up, started acting his heart out and Jimins giggles over it all. Lol they are so cute.

63rd Grammy Awards Show Making Film:

I have so many incredibly mixed feelings about this. I love them. I love their attitude about everything. I love how they are understanding they might not win but trying to stay positive regardless and keep each others moods up. So many of them were so nervous they had a hard time sleeping. They all woke up at 2 am to get ready for their red carpet interview and the live stream reaction to their awards. They were EXHAUSTED but being so upbeat and there for each other through it all. Jikook sitting on the couch together before moving to their seats for the actual reaction. I know they draw comfort from being close to each other for sure. TaeJin promising kisses if they win the award too 😂🤣 Jin saying Vhope will kiss if they win and Hobi looking so confused 🤣 Tae saying that if they win 2seok will kiss and he will kiss Namjoon on the forehead. So free with the kisses and it's appreciated lmfaoo. And Joon just agreeing saying his forehead is free real estate. You know he loves their affection! They were all so sweet and encouraging to each other through their disappointment too. "Let's hug it out" Being honest about their emotions over it all, but still able to laugh, make jokes and future plans. I'm so proud of them. Tae's dad calling and telling all the members not to be too sad and being so encouraging. Lol Jimin grabbing the phone right after he said that and saying "dad! I'm so sad!!" And giggling. You know means it but he is still being so silly and positive about it all too.

The way they all burst out laughing watching their own reactions to losing 😭😅🤣 Tae going "I want to watch everyone reactions one by one, let's start with Jimin" and sitting down to watch the same clip 7 times over. He is just like us for real lmfao. The way they all gathered into a sleepy puppy cuddle puddle together on the couches to watch their performance after all that too. They are so cute. 2021 Billboard Music Awards Making Film:

During their break between filming the intro and getting into their actual dance, everyone goes and plays with the various instruments around. Jimin starts pretending to play Butter on the piano and just being silly. Suga jokingly goes "ach so embarrassing" and teasing Jimin and JK is just smiling at Jimin so fondly and says "not to me." Heart is MELTING. He is so cute and I can't handle it. Minimoni complaining about aching feet and Joon saying it's because of flat feet. Jimin telling army not to get flat feet and JK again, just there slightly off camera until he isn't looking at Jimin fondly and laughing saying "isn't that something you are born with." They are so cute together. Tae playing the piano and acting out a mini skit and Jikook both just watching him fondly and finding it adorable. Lol taekook disagreeing on if they are seen on camera or not during Jimins mirror move, so JK dropped out early and Tae kept dancing and they bet 50000 won over who is right or not going back to the review camera 🤣 I think JK won as he was right that the camera moved into a zoom on Jimin, but who knows 😂😂 both Jimin and Jhope praising the heck out of RM during the dance break, that had to have made him so happy! 🥺 Cute. The way that we only caught tail ends of jikook fooling around and giggling together during ending mentions because the camera focused on the other members talking but we saw their smiles together afterwards which was cute. They really nailed this performance.

CJ ENM You Quiz on the Block Making Film:

Seeing the members all greeting the hosts so sweetly. I have such respect for them. They are so good to everyone around them. Recounting past experiences from previous variety shows they did with the hosts and being so gracious about it all. Saying that the members wanted to film on You Quiz together more than any other show. And if that's what they wanted and they had fun, I'm all for it. Their utter shock, joy and ultimate happiness when they were surprised by the ARMY fan on the show. They LOVE their fans so much. It's amazing. So admirable. Makes me so soft!! YoonJin being so proud of themselves for winning some money. Lol Jikook playing the spot the couple game at the end during the end of the show group photo. Because of course they were 😂 More Jikookery from You Quiz here too.

Hobi bragging "I just have to be on my phone for this scene!" RM: "you are being rewarded for being a good person" Hobi: flustered. Lol cuteeee. Bangtannies with puppies content is some of my FAVORITE 🥺🥺 the way they all bark and howl everytime the dog does 🤣 The Tannies picked "connection" as their word/theme and showed it through connecting fingers. Which was a super cute joke they didn't let go throughout the entire filming process. Lol Jimin during filming asking where his connection is and every member there jumping up to connect their fingers to his 😂🥺😍 they are all so fucking cute and funny. 2seok doing ending mentions together and saying all they remember from the shoot is everyone's fingers connecting 😂 RM saying he is excited to see what the other artists did for their video. Tae saying the most memorable scene for him was filming his CGI scene on the escalator. Jikook doing their ending mentions together too and saying that looking back and thinking on what you believe in is very meaningful and they had fun filming!

rating: M pairing: seungkwan x gn!reader wc: 0.4k summary: florist seungkwan receives a bouquet from his rival — emotions are had warnings: slightly nsfw discussion, language tags: rival florists, the is the start of an enemies to lovers fic (that i will probably never write), soonyoung says some Wild Shit, reader is actually only mentioned in this sorry a/n: i know nothing about flowers or their meanings i just used google and then made shit up lol (also this was originally a vmin drabble i posted on twt two years ago)

Seungkwan looked down at the bouquet of flowers — beautifully arranged and wrapped in old newspaper and tied with a dainty blue ribbon — gobsmacked.

It was addressed to him of all people.

No one ever sent Seungkwan flowers. Because who would send flowers to a florist? Especially from his rival's shop?

And speak of the devil, the little card carefully attached to the ribbon simply read from y/n <3 in a distressingly elegant calligraphy.

He looked at the artfully arranged flowers more closely. There was an obvious yellow color scheme — hyacinth (jealousy - sport, game, play) and tansy (hostile thoughts, declaring war) and tarragon (lasting interest) arranged neatly around a single tall sunflower (haughtiness) — but a few white roses (I'm worthy of you) were included to help balance it out. It really was beautiful, and some unknown feeling did a little somersault in his chest.

And then the meanings sunk in.

You had just sent him a flower arrangement that essentially said "wow, you're so jealous, fucking fight me" but in the most annoyingly flirtatious way possible. It made Seungkwan want to commit arson.

"That absolute motherfucker."

"Okay, Kwan-ah, I'm confused," Soonyoung piped up from where he was re-poting some ferns in the corner. "Do you want to kill whoever sent those, or fuck them?"

Seungkwan choked on his spit.

Soonyoung blazed on, "Because the words you just said were mean but you look so grossly in love that I'm concerned hearts and rainbows are going to start shooting out of your pores like some kind of homoerotic pipebomb."

Or maybe murder was on the table after all.

"Kwon Soonyoung you are henceforth forbidden from ever opening your mouth inside my shop ever again." He threw one of the many flower-themed stress balls he kept lying around for this exact reason at Soonyoung's head, taking pleasure at the pained yelp Soonyoung let out as he failed to dodge out of the way and sprawled gracelessly across the floor.

Satisfied, he turned his attention back to the bouquet. "And to answer your question..."

The flowers stared up from where he was still clutching them with both hands, judging him. Waiting.

Seungkwan sighed.

"Both. Definitely both."

It makes you think. Do you find Jeongguk attractive?

Of fucking course. Duh!

Literally, who wouldn't? On the outside, he's disgustingly handsome, sometimes it makes you pissed how attractive he is, got a body that's just the right buff and big… He's also tall, and the full sleeve tattoo around the entirety of his right arm and piercings on both his lip and brow really add to his naturally oozing charm. Beyond all that superficial aspects though is his kind heart. Jeongguk is, above all, a really good person. Someone you can confide in, someone you can count on. He's someone who has a funny and warm disposition. He's confident in a way that's not bordering on arrogant, just very good at carrying himself that it's… somewhat – okay, not somewhat – it is sexy and hot that he just knows.

On top of that, he's intelligent as hell. Jeongguk is a software engineer in this big tech company hence why he's also rich. He literally has this big ass, grossly priced apartment in Gangnam (where you currently are, by the way. You say it's grossly priced because you know it's expensive as fuck, you're not about to lie and say it's overpriced as his place is really something) because his job pays him well and he's great at it.

He's the total dream guy if you have to be extremely honest and truth be told, if he wasn't one of your closest friends – probably your closest friend – you would've hit on him a long time ago.

"Yeah," you tell him sincerely because there's no point in lying.

There's a grin on his face when he hears your answer.

"I'm glad because I'm about to tell you that I find you attractive too."

You can feel your heart doing a flip or two inside your ribcage, but you ignore the feeling right away, rolling your eyes at him just to prove a point. "Are you saying that because you don't want to embarrass me? It's fine, you can be honest with me."

Immediately shaking his head, Jeongguk stares at you in a way that makes you think he's a little offended with what you said. For what though, you have no idea.

"No? I know you know you're pretty. It's a common fact among friends and people you don't know personally."

There's a rush of heat that spreads throughout your cheeks at his compliment. He sounded like you shouldn't even be questioning it too, nonchalant in a way, but you're not really good with compliments so you try to get a way out.

"Really? Is that your type?" You raised a brow. "Pretty girls?"

Your joke backfires.

With a playful smirk playing on his lips, his answer was an instant, "Yeah."

Ask: Reply - 2021.12.14

So, I’ve been on a bit of a break, mostly for my own health and inability to do, well... most things, for a while. But I’ve missed being here, even if the break has been really good and I am glad I did it. Likely I will also post in a slower pace from now on as well. But I am glad you all have sent me nice messages and have been understanding even if you have missed my posts.

Here are the topics of this post. You’ll notice they are all fairly ”old”. :P

I felt it was time to answer some asks again, and some of these replies are actually written months ago, but I never finished posting it. Still, I hope you’ll have an interesting read. :)

Ask 1 - Manipulating content

Hi, and thank you for this ask, it’s a very important topic. I think it goes for all content though, as a lot of the time shippers might 1. Not watch original content at all or to a lesser extent and only see clips of their own ship. or 2. Focus and see the shipping content so much more they simply forget or can ignore the original context.

Of course it might be even worse if the content is difficult to get a hold of and it will mean it’s harder to check for those that want to.

I also saw general accounts miss the part about it being a joke at first, it took a while for it to spread. (Thankfully the clip had japanese subtitles so I didn’t have to wait for translations, but I know it took a while and that even ot7 translators seemed to miss the last part about it being a lie).

I mean, I think either way this whole conversation is very cute and light hearted and should not be used as some weird way to show Vmin doesn’t get along. We know they have talked about fighting before, and that they were super close as trainees/early years but also fought more because they were close. They have basically said similar things before, but it’s clear they don’t think it was something negative. Also, it just makes no sense if you think Vmin are pushed by Big Hit as close, for them to casually talk about fighting or make jokes like this... You really have to have a predetermined negative view to see this as something bad.

As for other shippers (or antis), I just wish they would stop getting involved in other ships than their own as a way to highlight themselves as superior...

Sadly, most shippers to various degrees manipulate/enhance moments in their own favor. All I can do is hope that people actually watch original content, and also take everything from a shipper with a grain of salt (and that includes me). They will be biased no matter if it’s intentional or not. But obviously we sadly see a lot of these examples with an explicit agenda to make a ship or member look bad. And we know these things work, making people doubt Vmin’s closeness or worry about them etc. So yeah, it’s a scary thing and I hope people being aware might help at least a little bit. If you watch shipping content and end up changing your view from before you watched shipping content you might want to be careful.

Ask 2 - New army who wonders about Vmin and their stiffness

Hi Simon, welcome to the fandom (no matter if you consider yourself ARMY or not) and thank you for your ask. What a cute way to get into BTS, by finding Friends. :)

I can say that even being a shipper I also don’t understand some of Vmin’s behavior. It’s honestly one of the weirdest things about them, that as you say they seem to have some contradictions in their behaviors. I wrote about this a long time ago in my post Vmin - Push and Pull. That was just me guessing, and wondering why Vmin sometimes seem super close, and other times seem almost stiff or awkward or even nervous.

My view is that while Jimin and Taehyung are super close, consider each other soulmates and both are very physically intimate people, there are moments when they seem unsure. When Jimin get nervous or pushes Tae away, or when Taehyung gets stiff or hesitates to initate touch with Jimin. For me it’s odd to see two people who can cuddle or do a lot of intimate things with both each other and other members sometimes act like it’s a big deal or get awkward over things that doesn’t seem like they should matter.

For me I think Jimin is a person who likes having control, and I think Taehyung is the most unpredictable member. So perhaps it’s as simple as it not being on Jimin’s terms having him act nervous which in turn has lead to Taehyung initiating less with Jimin, compared to other members. Still, to me it doesn’t seem to be consistant, and I think it’s possible Vmin’s odd push and pull could be a result in them not being sure about what is ok or not. Thus if they overthink we might see reactions to moments that shouldn’t be a big deal. That’s just my theory.

I see no point in them lying about being close, and especially Tae who always emphasis on being honest and doing a lot of things his own way no matter what, I trust his feelings and gushing about Jimin. I also know they have plenty of super intimate moments where they seem to not care at all, and almost forget the rest of the world around them. As well as reports from backstage moments we have never gotten to see. So it seems weird their “stiffness” or awkwardness wouldn’t be consistant if it was truly them not liking or wanting to do some things, like initiating skinship. It could I suppose be context of each moment leading to their reactions as well, like where they are or mood for example. But it does seem to happen quite a lot, and I would probably say it seems like a behavior at this point rather than just coincidence each time.

It’s interesting that you have noted this behavior even without being a shipper though, makes me feel like maybe it’s not just me over analyzing things. Still, there could be other reasons I fail to think of... But in the end to me it looks like Vmin might hold back and be a bit unsure at times, and other times are completely fine and don’t think about their actions at all. This is one of the biggest questionmarks Vmin raises to me, and why I wonder if they might have something to be careful about, unlike other pairs in the group.

Ask 3 - BTS, Universe and LGBT+

Hi, @cottoncandykings and thank you for this ask. :)

First let’s look at what Christ said about Universe.

Chris Martin on working with BTS: “We really don’t believe in any boundaries or separation of anything really, and so the song My Universe is about someone being told they can’t love a certain other person, or can’t be with this race, or they can’t be gay - whatever it might be.

And we thought, it would be good to sing this with BTS because maybe we're not supposed to be together. And it turned out to be one of the most fun things ever. I went to Korea to be with them, it’s been amazing.”

I think it’s great, and I love that it’s a openly lgbt+ supportive song, even though the lyrics can match for any kind of prejudice that gets in the way of love. I wish this would be a sign of BTS showing more support openly, but I don’t really think it is. But I hope.

Honestly, I feel like this isn’t that much “more” than other things BTS has done... I mean, Stigma for example for sure could be LGBT+, but it’s not stated anywhere and it can match other struggles as well. As for BTS we have had them talking about LGBT+ before, like in the Billboard interview from 2018 Which is more openly supportive. You can see Namjoon kind of hesitating but at least Yoongi was very blunt about it.

They have also talked about other things for example mentioning gender at the UN speech, the “we don’t have time for boyfriends or girlfriends“ or of course being fans and even making covers/recomendations of several LGBT+ artists/songs/movies etc. But in general they are rather vague about it.

As for Universe and Chris Martin I am glad he said that and that the song represents this and BTS are involved. But I do think it makes a big difference that it was Chris that said it and not BTS. I think we can all agree BTS are allies at the very least, but their soft power and the homophobia in Korea is likely making it more difficult for them to be outspoken. I personally wish they would do more because I think it would make a big difference, but I also understand that sadly it’s a risk with the current political climate in Korea (and sadly amongst many other fans outside of Korea too) and with the political power BTS has.

But let’s hope. We know the world is slowly changing (though way too slow), so maybe they can become more openly supportive too, because I am sure if they did they would help change the world faster.

Ask 4-6 - My Universe with Vmin perspective

I got a few more asks about My Universe (I removed the name on one because it seems they sent a second one with anon on), and I thought I should add the Vmin “perspective” on top of what I covered in the previous reply.

To be honest I also feel this song “fits” the Vmin narrative very well, but considering a lot of BTS songs does it all makes it very amibigous even with Vmin’s own songs. Like I mentioned in my series Vmin song analysis - Winter in August it’s definitely possible I am just reading way too much into things.

The similar themes in other songs by BTS (or even TXT) could point at me over analyzing and just finding things I can make fit because I want to. That’s why that whole post (Winter in August) is actually better to take with a grain of salt in a Vmin perspective, even though I do think some things are very significant both for Vmin but in particular Taehyung.

Anyways, back to My Universe. As you all mention the lyrics do match very well with a lot of the themes we have seen in Vmin’s songs, and it having a specific message to include struggles of the LGBT+ community is of course not to be ignored.

However, I very much doubt Chris Martin wrote a song with Vmin in mind, so while there are several themes and lines that match Vmin very well, and with their earlier songs too, I personally won’t go into much detail about the song. Rather I will just name it as a good “Vmin song” in the way it fits them well, and then of course be happy and hopefull this will mean BTS can start to be more open with LGBT+ support in some ways.

Thank you all for the asks though, I can’t blame you for seeing the “Vmin” in the lyrics, because I did as well as soon as I heard the song and read the lyrics.

Ask 7 - More about Lizzo and the shirt

Hi, I actually already talked about this in my post Ask: Reply - 2021.09.23. Maybe you missed it, or maybe you wanted more of an opinion on how it might be from Vmin’s perspective?

Since you mention Vmin keeping a low profile I thought I might leave my two cents on that in particular. The things is that while Vmin might keep some things more “private” or possibly seem to avoid being shipped (of course this is my assumption and not something we know), they are not really keeping a low profile. I mean, if they were they wouldn’t have released “Friends”.

I think Vmin are possibly keeping some things a bit “lowkey” and might even avoid certain things or situations. But they are very out there with their love for each other and they are by no definition a hidden or discreet relationship. The whole world literally know they consider each other best friends and soulmates.

What Vmin are careful with (if they are) is being seen in a romantic light.

Lizzo wearing a ship name shirt is certainly not something I liked, and I am not sure how it would make Vmin feel to see it. But I don’t think it will change much or would be considered a “fail”. If anything it shows how much both Vmin and Vminies/fans can get away with and do compared to ji/kookers or tae/kookers.

Most people just saw it as her having “good taste” and finding it fun. Likely because the word Vmin, while being a ship name, is considered as simply talking about Vmin. Platonic or not. And since Lizzo also talked about how much she likes Vmin’s friendship it’s likely fine. People don’t see her as a shipper and thus her talking about liking Vmin is basically the same as choosing a bias.

Anyways, since Vmin are already so accepted as platonic soulmates by the fandom, and also Lizzo’s liking of them being about their friendship, this might get Vmin some extra attention, but it will be in the same light as they and Big Hit have highlighted themselves. Two best friends and soulmates.

Vmin has grown a lot since Friends was released, both as a ship and as a platonic friendship fans adore. I really don’t think the problem would be about getting attention on their bond, as long as the view remains mainly platonic. And this goes no matter if Vmin would actually be real or not.

Of course we have also seen BTS talk about this, and how she likes Vmin in particular, and they all seemed to have fun enough with her at the Harry Styles concert, so while I think she might be a bit “out there” with her bias and wouldn’t want people to follow her example, at least they don’t seem too bothered with it. (Though Tae and Jimin seemed a bit awkward with being pointed out as favorites in that interview I don’t think they felt badly about it.) It also seems it got Vmin to know about Vmin so... Honestly Iam a bit scared if they start to acknowledge Vmin as a unit name instead of 95z. ^^’’’

I have a few points to add about your ITS season 1 "date":

1. Talking about trainee days and touching upon age subject is not equivalent to them not being so "distant" now. If we see official content till year 2016 everything is alright between them (BTS run is a great example). No supposedly awkwardness. That means if we go by official content we can say 2016-2020 could be the time frame for them being distant according to the episode.

3. If you look at this timeline, even though their interaction was shown bare minimum, we can see genuine taekook interactions offcam which asserts to them being still in talking terms, still goofing around and still caring. The only thing I noticed was kookie being unable to hide his eagerness when it comes to tae that you can see scene cutting as soon as kookie approaches him (check BV season 1, 2 and 3).

2. As I could see taekook relationship, yes it was more on the goofy side but people would be blind if they can not see mutual adoration and genuine care between them. They were like magnets. So them being attached by hip to being distant in official content seems pretty suspicious to me. And if people say that friendship can be evolved and changed, yes it can but so urgently that their interactions are being minimal onscreen suddenly is hard to digest. So as far as I can understand for me the timeline becomes 2016-2020 (because that is when drought started).

3. If we look at behind the scenes and raw fan cams i think it could be pretty clear that official unpaid content is quite different from backstage and off cam interactions (BV 2 and 3 is perfect eg, a lot of edited content as soon as they two approach each other). We can say they were still goofing around still caring for each other and all the more camera concious. This does not anyway state any lack of credibility for distance as mentioned in ITS or I am telling it's all lie. They could be emotionally distant and still love each other based on their past. No, for me what's quite fascinating is why heart to heart between these two only on this subject which brings me to my next point.

4. All members cannot have an equal connection. When tea became reserved, i am sure his relationship with other members might have also changed including jimin but nothing has been addressed about this with other people. In fact we can see vmin relationship blooming because Jimin is mature? They had a deep relationship because they are 95 liners? Maybe both. That somehow implies taekook could not be close as they are of not same age or jungkook was less mature or less incompatible or maybe their relationship was only about doing fun or maybe all of these things. Who knows? My point is despite solving this at the earlier stage when things started going wrong, if i assume that to be 2016 acc to official content, they chose to have a heart to heart 4 years later. That means four years of awkwardness, pretty tensed environment even for a working relationship for a group which has their bond as their USP.

5. It is funny they chose to do it in National television. Looking at how private both of them are, especially jungkook who is so introvert it is difficult to digest he would be amenable to disclose his laundary so openly. I am sure if they were feeling so awkward they could have chosen to talk about it after ITS or maybe at night when people are not there. That means even though there could be bit of truth to distance, the scene was staged. Also, for me what's funny is after their "talk" they seem to be so chummy. Tae resting his head on kookie's shoulder, sleeping together cuddled. Really? If things were so easy to sort out wouldn't it be smarter to talk earlier before coming to a show where things would be reflecting awkward on cameras. This seems really weird to me.

6. Also, v said kookie approached him to have drinks but did not mention he wanted to have a heart to heart. So assuming the offer to drink was to enquire about tae's issues. I am sure they , all seven of them, might have talked about it as group at some point because personal problems of members can affect BTS as a group as well as bighit. I don't think the reason tae gave is new to kookie, that he might have not known about it. And talking in private is not ok but on tv is. I seriously do not understand.

Seriously the constant change in their interaction is so weird. From Run BTS, to bangtan bombs to stage interaction to bon voyage (especially season 4 where it seemed they actively avoided each other- weirdest one for me).

I am sorry if this doesn't make any sense to you. I have been reading your post (it's so good to read someone's pure thoughts on this matter- thank you) and wanted to add my two cents. Please excuse my coherency level as it is 4 am here but i just couldn't resist.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to write out all of your thoughts, as well as for your kind words!

I definitely agree with you. There is a whole lot about the ITS1 conversation that doesn’t hold up under any kind of scrutiny or critical thinking. You make a good point about how all over the places their interactions are in official content. One moment they’re having a heart-to-heart about all of the issues they’ve supposedly had in their friendship, the next they’re not only cuddling but sleeping next to each other for two hours.

I feel what you said about BV4 so hard too. I haven’t talked much about Bon Voyage on this blog, but one thing I found so interesting about it was how little shipping fodder it has, kind of across the board. Like, with the way Jikookers talk about every season of BV, I was expecting to be inundated with Jikook interactions when I watched it, but it’s really not like that at all! If I’d only watched the four seasons of BV and no other content at all, I would come away being absolutely convinced that there was nothing to any BTS shipping at all. In particular, I also noticed how it seemed like Taehyung and Jungkook were trying to basically avoid each other, barely interacting in BV4. Honestly, I noticed that in other seasons too, but to a lesser extent than in BV4.

Anyway, to address your specific thoughts about ITS, your ideas about the implied timeline make sense, but then, as you say, if they really are talking about the entire period from 2016-2020, the thought that they would address this publicly on television makes even less sense than it already does. No matter how you slice it, putting it on TV makes it for the audience, not the people involved.

Compare the ITS conversation to, for example, the recent Festa dinner. That was about BTS addressing what’s been going on with them lately and their plans for the future with ARMY, so that they could openly and honestly share their feelings in as personal a way as possible. The conversation between Tae and JK in ITS is stunted and strange in comparison, full of vague language and intentional obstructions. It’s crafted to present a certain idea, but there’s none of that open honesty from them to us, except presumably in Jungkook’s interview, which as I pointed out in my close reading is full of qualifying words which distance Jungkook from what he’s saying and obscure the real meaning.

So yes, I agree with everything you’re saying. None of it really seems to add up. It doesn’t logically make sense to address the kinds of issues they’re supposedly processing in the way that they do it, and those issues themselves don’t hold up under much, if any, scrutiny anyway.

The members just fueled the sheep today by screaming when Tae and JK touched. What was that? Why did they feel that was cute to do? That was strange and odd, unless TK are dating. Either way, it was enough fuel to send them over the edge and now the are 100% convinced they're real and the members support them. Don't even get me started on the hate JM got today, accusing him of purposely ruining a TK moment and inserting himself. I no longer think Jikook are real after today cause of the members.

Ask 2/ I find the members screams when TK touched today pretty sus and Jimin's face, although he smiled, seems he was caught off guard and Tae sticking his tongue out to JK before it happened. If Jikook are dating, I feel that was pretty disrespectful. For members to encourage a flirty moment between two other members, if that said member is already in a relationship. Its the first time I have ever wondered about TK and that makes me feel so bad. Not because I have a problem with it, but because of JM.

Ask 3/ Whoever said Jinmin are dating are probably right. After today, there is no way Jikook are dating. The member would not yell and cheer on Tae/kook like that if they were in a relationship with someone else. Jin photobombed JM's selfie with a heart. And JM is struggling with TK lately and it shows. I think Jikook were very much dating and real, but this past year its not been the same. Saying JM is sexy does not equal dating, they all that. However JM getting pissy over TK says a lot. Jealous ex.

Ask 4/ People think something isn't off with Jikook, when JM has shown lately he is uncomfortable with Tae and JK getting close. At Muster JK puts his arm around Tae and JM purposely gets between them. Today Tae gets a little too close to JK and JM purposely makes a moment with Tae. JM is never jealous over JK unless Tae is involved. So that tells me JM is dating either JK or Tae and TK are getting a little to real for JM's liking. I personally don't think JM is dating JK anymore. I think it's Tae.

So, as you can see I have received a few asks on this subject. The new PTD dance practice clip released yesterday.

Let's start by seeing exactly what this 'moment' everyone is screaming about between JK&Tae that the other members were supposedly going crazy about.

First off, all the members seem to be really having a good time here. It seems like everyone is in a good mood and there are plenty of interactions between the members that have gone unnoticed, because everyone's eyes are on Vminkook.

Second, this is a 3 min. clip of a dance practice. This is most likely a one shot clip (not edited), but, and here is the big but, this isn't a one time practice. Meaning, the members weren't flown into the dance studio to do this one take, shoot it and leave. The members arrived at the studio, interacted, most likely rehearsed the dance several times before shooting this clip, if this was the first take, because it is also likely that there were a few takes of which they chose the one to upload.

What is the importance of this long winded explanation?

To explain that the members do not perform in a vacuum. That the interactions between them during these clips are not detached from everything that was going on prior to this take.

And again, why is this important?

Because when you look at that interaction between Tae&JK it's really absolutely NOTHING what so ever.

This is the point the cheers come in.

Now, as I see it those cheers can be one of two things:

Either something went on prior to this shot, maybe in the rehearsal or a previous shot that Tae putting his hand on JK's shoulder caused this reaction. Idk, maybe something they talked about or something one of those three did before, who knows.

Or, the members that are pretty hyped up, as I mentioned, they seem to be having a great time, were hyping up and enjoying this part of the choreo, the makne line doing their thing.

Either explanations are possible.

This isn't Tae being flirty. As a matter of fact, at this point neither Tae nor JK are being flirty.

JM, though, he is sure enjoying his view of JK.

As for JM's hand, that was a bit of an oopsy there, which he pretty much immediately fixed. No, he wasn't going for the bundle, he was going for the hip.

This isn't our first dance practice rodeo. We know they can go rogue during these practices, letting go, enjoying themselves, and this is what we have here too.

No dramas, no intrigues, nothing of that sort.

I will say this for the millionth time. BTS are human beings. I can't believe I actually spilled the beans here. Yes, they are people like you and me, well maybe not exactly like you and me, seeing they are multimillionaire idols, but you get the idea.

They are not fictional characters in a novel or a Telenovela or K-drama. These are real human beings with real human being feelings. And why do I have to keep repeating this?

Well, it seems some fans think that being in a band and famous makes you out to be promiscuous or able to change your partner/boyfriend like a pair of socks. Or that within a band of 7 members if there would be such change of guard (meaning them changing partners around) that they would continue to be on such good terms with each other or be able to even look at each other, let alone keep on working for so many years with each other.

If Vminkook were in this real K-drama love triangle there would be soooo many behaviours that would have to be explained away and that don't make any kind of sense.

Let's start by them all being friends and on good terms. In what universe would this be if two members in this triangle were fighting over the heart of the third? Either V & JK fighting for JM's heart or JK&JM fighting for V's heart or JM&V fighting for JK's heart?

Then we have Vmin's relationship. Declared soulmates. How would that fit in to this mess, especially if JM&V are supposedly after JK? Wouldn't there be a rivalry here, not a close intimate friendship?

And JK&JM being close and inseparable, how does that fit into the story line?

JM practically pushing JK to sit down and talk with V ITS - how does that fit in?

Them all being cheery, happy, smiley, lovey dovey with each other. How does that fit in?

And there is so much more there that just doesn't make sense if you are into this type of storyline.

If things have changed recently, as some of the asks claim. If JM & JK are over and now it's the time of JK & Tae, how is it that the dynamics between these three hasn't changed? That JM is still all smiley and happy towards Tae, who has supposedly hooked up with his ex? The same Tae that JM pushed JK to talk to during ITS?

You know, even if couples split up, there is residue. There are feelings left, good or bad (longing or anger or hate or sadness). There is never indifference, especially a long term relationship ending. So, if that is the case, if the couple has split, if a new relationship is budding, how is that one member in that triangle, be it JK or JM, so indifferent, accepting, happy & laughing and overall ok with what is going on?

When a long term relationship ends do you think moving on is something you do immediately? Especially with one of your ex's best friends?

JM, JK and Tae are not plastic characters in a soap opera. This isn't Brook or Ridge or Taylor that have been married and divorced so many times I lose count, moving back and forth between those relationships. That isn't real life. And JK/JM/Tae are real people living real lives.

So, believe what you may, that Taekook are real, or that Vmin are real or Jikook are real (you know where I stand on that). But don't flip flop between them or don't make up these illogical theories about them moving in between relationships. Beyond it being fictional it is disrespectful to all three of them.

This sums up this topic for now. Any other asks sent about this clip or change in JM’s behaviour or Jikook breakup etc. will go unanswered.

being honest i dont get jm using a award to say he misses tannie... we don’t know 90% of their lives but they are very close to the point of still sleeping together sometimes. and going deep if they were really a couple jm woudnt miss taes dog right? and even as friends he could visit it. unless its because of their schedule right... this kind of comment sometimes confuses me and haters will use it as “they arent close” lol. i just wanted to know your pov.

Judging by Admin 2's reaction, as well as some others in our asks, I have a feeling I was the only one with a more realistic expectation, or lack of expectations, as I waited for the BTS profiles to be posted. Based on last year's, I knew expecting something grand out of Tae, and especially Jimin, would just be me setting myself up for failure, which is what I think happened here.

But, let's discuss it.

I spent a solid couple of hours making an excel table last night that contains everything every member said about every member (sourcing 3 translators for maximum insight) to see if really what Jimin chose for Tae is so "bad" that suddenly people are sending us asks like this one, and another one I'll add later down the line. And the conclusion I've come to is that...what he gave to Tae, as well as Hobi and Seokjin, as awards are the only ones that have any actual emotional/personal connection to them.

With Namjoon and JK Jimin basically states the obvious--Namjoon is tall and JK has gained muscle mass, meaning nothing new or with a proper emotional connection was stated; to Yoongi he made the same request many other members have made, so a work connection, nothing inherently personal.

Now, compared to that--Seokjin teases him/them, which isn't new info, so Jimin asked him to stop or do it less, a valid request which I'm sure he also voiced to Seokjin outside of this FESTA profile and also shows a degree of personal connection; Hobi gets requested to not walk away after asking Jimin a question, which again shows a personal connection and that it's a reoccurring thing; and lastly Tae with Tannie.

Something I've noticed is that some ARMY, who are used to our western celebrities and draw conclusions about idols based on those parameters, forget that BTS are busy, like whatever you consider busy, take that and multiply it by ten. During his vlive with Hobi and Yoongi back in April, Tae said that they are much busier and their lives far more hectic than any of us realize. Taking that into account, and the fact that one of the members (I think it might have been Seokjin) mentioned they work at least ten hours a day for 360 days a year with practice, MV and CF filming, photoshoots, interviews, recording and working on music, meetings, and many other things we have no idea about, do you really think Yeontan lives with Tae full time? A dog needs to get walked and fed but if Tae is out of the house every day for at least ten hours, what would happen to Tannie? He'd just sit around at home alone all day which just isn't fair, so I'm sure Tannie lives with Tae's parents much the same way Micky lives with Hobi's parents and/or his sister, JKs dog lives with his family, Holly lives with Yoongi’s brother, Moni with Namjoon's, and years ago Seokjin had to give his sugar gliders to his parents because he was too busy to take care of them.

Based on that of that, I'm not sure how often Tae get's to see Tannie. Probably not all that often, to be honest. So, if Tannie's owner doesn't get to see him often, I'd assume Jimin gets to see him even less (if we work on the assumption that Tannie lives with Tae's parents and thus Tae could only really see him when visiting them or when they visit him, that means Jimin wouldn't be able to see Tannie just like that either, since that would be like intruding on family time, right?). And we know Jimin loves Tannie, so him using that award to say he misses him and is asking about him shows care and an emotional connection to Tannie. Do I think Jimin also asks Tae privately about Tannie? Absolutely. And still, while Jimin didn't give Tae the, I don't know, "hot body Award" like Yoongi did with Namjoon or the "person I love most in the world award" (which we should know by now would never happen, and if you expected something of that intensity level, than I'm sorry but you've set yourself up for disappointment from the start), he still drew a personal and emotional connection between himself and Tae, as well as the pet Tae loves dearly.

More below the cut:

Jimin could’ve asked about the other pets of the members, but he didn’t, he only ever really talked about Tannie, and here he does it again, so doesn’t that show that he has a bond with him, a closer one than the other members since they don’t/didn’t ask about him (except for Hobi that one time on weverse)?

Speaking of Hobi, am I the only one who finds it interesting and cute that he only drew little hearts for Jimin and Tae when writing down their awards?

Also, we have to remember that these profiles are for us, fan content (remember when Jimin asked Tae last year to post more pictures of Tannie on weverse because ARMY miss seeing him, so what if this is drawing a connection/parallel to that?), and not meant as the members “confessing” something to each other that they otherwise wouldn’t or don’t have the chance to do so. It’s not meant to be all that serious and instead just be fun and nice for us to read, show us a bit of their dynamic and that’s it, no world shattering revelations to be found, from any of them. Or do you really think Yoongi doesn’t like Jimin just because he told Jimin he’s trying too hard to be funny? It’s just part of their dynamic. Or that none of the members have anything else to say to JK besides commenting on his body/appearance? As for vmin, I’d like to remind us of this moment from their Friends subunit interview for FESTA 2020:

Whatever Jimin and Tae want to say to each other, they don’t need FESTA to do it, or us to be there as witnesses. Like Tae didn’t already say enough by telling us that 95z is love. Or Jimin by writing Friends.

From anon: because of you I came back da Namjin. I am a senior army and 2 years ago I left Namjin because I thought they broke up. You made me three Vmin but after what JK wrote about Jimin and after Jm himself about his chances I think that vmin are not together or Jimin withdrew. I think Jk would not dare to write about Jm that he has cute fingers etc if vmin were a relationship. it goes too far and confuses Jk too much. I don't want to say that J / k*ok is real because it certainly isn't !!!!

Now this is where I just sit and sigh heavily because it’s exactly what I expected and I will admit it irks me to no end. Let’s establish a little timeline:

Based on the FESTA Mission! BTS 4 Cuts Teaser that was posted earlier we can deduce that at least part of FESTA was already being prepared back in the first half of March, since on March 12th Jimin, Namjoon and Seokjin had their salad making vlive. Let’s suppose that everything FESTA related was prepared and written out by the members around that time as well. Sometime later BTS filmed YOU QUIZ followed by LET’S BTS and BTSxGame Caterers and everything else we’ve seen after that.

Or going a little further back to sometime in November 2020 while they were preparing for MMA 2020 and the Black Swan performance. We got the practice video today and if you pay attention to Jimin and Tae even there you notice that while Tae is waiting for his turn in the choreography, Jimin runs past him after his part is done (0:55) and they pat each other or do a “high five” or something along those lines as a way to cheer each other on. A very “we’re broken up” or “I will break up with him soon” thing to do, right? Or in min-January when Tae posted seven pictures out of which three were of just Jimin after an ARMY on weverse asked if anyone had any nice pictures they could use as wallpaper for their phone. Between all that I’m having a hard time honestly finding any moment where either of them seemed sad or “cold” toward the other the way you would be and feel if the person you love pulled away from you or broke up with you.

If you are still unconvinced and still think that is what Jimin tried to communicate to us, would Tae really have gone on national TV and said he likes Jimin the most? And would Jimin have agreed that he likes him a lot as well? Or looking at the making video of their Kloud Beer CF that was posted today as well, would Jimin really be looking and interacting with Tae this way if he decided to end things between them?

Also, going back a little, your mention of Jimin reflecting upon opportunities/chances now that it’s a new year. My question is based on what you made the judgment that this comment has to be about vmin and not about something entirely different in Jimin’s life, or maybe something connected to BTS as a whole? Just because of him asking Tae about Tannie? Jimin, as well as Tae and the other members, have entire lives outside of just their bonds with each other, entire careers, passion projects, families, friend groups, and that little bit of time they have to themselves, so immediately thinking Jimin’s comment must be related to his relationship/bond with Tae basically makes it seem like Jimin’s life is a romcom or a TV show in which the only thing that matters is if the main character will date or remain in a relationship with character B or not, but life isn’t like that.

Personally it reminded me of something Tae said during their Bring the Soul documentary about how BTS had the opportunities to go higher faster but they decided against them. Perhaps Jimin’s comment was about something like this as well, especially since we know Jimin is a very private person and very selective of the personal things he shares with us and the ones he doesn’t.

For the FESTA profile JK decided to give Jimin the “Cute Award” with the explanation that his “Face, height, fingers are cute” which, honestly, is just saying something that a) is true and b) has been said in millions of ways by every member across the last couple of years. I don’t see what the issue here is? During one of the episodes of BTSxGame Caterers Seokjin said that Jimin is very cute and that he has a small, beautiful face, so really he even added the word beautiful in there, which JK did not, so what really is the issue here? The fact its JK, right, that’s where the issue lies, to which I ask why? On this blog we’ve already established that there is (in our opinion and based on everything we’ve seen and heard) no romantic connection between JK and Jimin (nor Tae), not now and not in the past either, so why is him saying that Jimin is cute (which he is known for even by people outside of ARMY, or like James Cordon calling him his cute baby mochi) is an issue but Seokjin or any other member is not? Either we use the same measurements for everyone or we don’t compare or make such assumptions about any of them.

What I find curious, because this does make it seem like you, anon, are someone influenced by J*k*ok shippers and their opinions, see an issue in JK saying that about Jimin, and how that’s “proof” that Jimin and Tae can’t possibly be together, and yet you took no issue to Namjoon basically saying he wants to give Tae an award because he is so handsome he is above every list or Yoongi comparing him to Michelangelo's David, both of these being much more superlative and grand complements/awards than JK saying Jimin’s face, height and fingers are cute.

It’s funny how things that Jimin and Tae have said about and to each other that make their bond very clear (I want to live with my lovely Taehyungie forever or here is my love for you while handing Tae a bunch of red heart balloons or 95z is love, a statement I’m sure he wouldn’t post if that sentiment weren’t mutual) are all questioned or ignored, but something as basically trivial as a comment about Jimin being cute is turned into a major issue. The mental gymnastics is fascinating.

Lastly, going back to the first anon and their mention of how haters will use Jimin’s Award for Tae as “proof” that they “aren’t close anymore”--why do we care? Like Namjoon said in the Mic Drop lyrics Haters gon’ hate. They will say a lot of things about a lot of things and even make things up if they feel like it to push their agenda, so really, regardless of what Jimin would’ve said, or not said, they would’ve found a way to twist it and make it fit their narrative. Besides, what haters think has no actual effect or bearing on what Tae and Jimin have with each other, and neither does what other shippers claim. Haters and other shippers don’t control the narrative, BTS do, and everything Jimin and Tae have shown us in 2021, as well as the last eight years, shows me that their bond has only ever grown stronger and closer and more beautiful and awe inspiring, even while haters claimed they stopped being friends years ago, so why should you or I care what they think?

Like Yoongi once said in one of his vlives about how haters can write all they want, he won’t read it while they will get sued.

Hey there anon!, I deeply understand your emotions. The hate that JM is going through is really bad and I have personally reported those accounts on twt etc. I even took a few snapshots of a tiktok video comment section... I will surely share them some day or another. Well then lets get started! I can't compare J-HOPE TO JM because they are my biases and both of them captivated my eyes, I just can't resist their flawless moves and they make a great dance unit... it would be incomplete without one of them + JK lol.

Most armies would say that JK is the golden maknae or he's the best overall in the team, well y'all took JM for granted, he's capable of doing so many things as well. 2. Loving member

Jimin is the member that I connect emotionally to, he's a sentimental person but he just doesn't show it you just have to pay attention on his behaviour and actions. He consoles many of the members and he provides comfort for them. The picture I attached below sets a great example.

1. BTS MAMA 2018... It was a tough year for them. They were close to disbanding, and the members were emotionally drained. My heart sank when I saw hobi breaking down in front of the crowd, you can find tons of fancams but you should take a close look at Jimin. He handled the situation very well and I love the way he gives his subtle touch of love towards the other members.

2. Taehyung grandma death announcement

I don't think that I need to explain the about the situation. Taehyung was really sad and felt guilty as he couldn't mention his grandma name. He broke down and Jimin immediately noticed him and ran towards him and just gave him little pat/huggie.

3. The Final

Even by looking at the picture you can see the comfort. You know that GCF-TOKYO song “there for you’ which implies that Jk means he will be there for jimin but "you gotta be there for me too” which means jimin gotta be there for him too. So yeah, JM just know jungkook well and he comforts Jk pretty well.It was so cute and i wished i was a part of the audience, i would have had a panic attack looking at them being so cute,fluff,intimate ON STAGE . Too bad it’s impossible now .

3.He's a badass [ athletic/ physical ]

Jimin has often talked about his experience in kendo,japanese fencing,Geomdo (검도, 劍道) “Way of the Sword” & hapkido. HAPKIDO: electid korean martial arts .It is a form of self-defense that employs joint locks, grappling, throwing techniques, kicks, punches, and other striking attacks.

.4.Academic excellence

After Namjoon Jimin has the most remarkable academic achievements in bts. He was one of the top students in junior high and was THE top student in Busan arts high school from ALL the departments. Fun fact Jimin IQ is 128! He was valedictorian too.

"When he was in junior high, he was one of the top students so Jimin's dad thought of enrolling him in a foreign language school. When he decided to go to an arts school, his teachers tried to stop him and were disappointed. He was accepted as the top of his class and attended Busan High School of Arts. He was doing really good. Then he switched to K-pop dancing and decided to be a trainee in Seoul. Teachers also tried to stop him and were disappointed. Park Jimin's life is really something.

36. Our Jimin didn't spend a lot of time preparing for the arts school. He was dancing popping when he decided to go to the arts school. He then learned modern dancing for a little over a year and was accepted at Busan High School of Arts as the top of his class even though he was a dance majorπ TT TT Every member in this group could've been successful at anything. That group is our pride, BTS.

60. Wow! If there's only one dance class, it's really incredible~ It's hard to get a top student from dance department. And it was achieved by a male student and it's Park Jimin TTTT

67. That's what I know too.. I was looking into Busan Arts School before and one class for dance is probably correct. It was mostly music and art classes that I remember. So from Busan Arts School, one out of ten classes and a male student from dance department getting accepted as the top of the class...the percentage is just incredible. I know that the dance class has about 40 students? And male students could be 25:15 or 30:10. Jimin broke through this and became the top.

Namjoon and Jimin really made a huge gamble. They could've went the easier way. Truthfully, if they went their way, they both would have succeeded. But becoming an idol and not knowing what their future will be and BTS not being successful from the beginning must have been really hard for them. But now I'm glad they're successful and they can realize they've made the right choice."

I really respect and idolize him. His personality is unique and its different.He's been through alot. Being kicked from BTS for 8+ times, the members ranking his looks as the last and being called fat and ugly, that's really disturbing. He starved and went on diets just to please the audience and to have a jawline. He works his ass of and he really deserves more. He's obviously cutie,sexy,lovely,sweet guy! He prioritize his career, family and fans before anything. He has absolute heavenly vocals (+crazyyy high notes) and he is the definition of stage presence. PARK JIMIN IS THE STANDARD. Solo toxic fans are definitely going to attack on me but this is the reality.Jimin deserves more and he's such a sweet person. He performs with his whole heart and expresses it wonderfully,he goes all out and each performance comes out from his soul. He loves to perform. I MEAN FOR THE LOOKS, JIMIN IS THE FIRST FOR JUNGKOOK~.

He once even wasn't able to attend THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW due to his sore muscles.

There was nothing that you loved more than the ocean.

The smell of sea water, the salty taste, the sand clinging to skin, the warm sun toasting around the edges.

You loved the call of the birds, swooping up and down the shoreline for scraps of whatever the tourists left. You loved the sound of the waves crashing against the tall beams supporting the pier.

You loved the sunbathers, the smell of coconut sunscreen, the chiming of bike bells. The beach was your home, and you loved everything about it.

However, the best part, by far, was Jeon Jungkook.

You loved watching the black-haired boy stroll down the long stretch of sand, clad in either a wetsuit, or just some skin tight board shorts, long surfboard under his arm.

Sometimes, he would arrive at lunchtime, shoving a burrito into his mouth as he suited up. Sometimes, he would be there at 6 am, when you arrived to start your shift at the lifeguard station. Sometimes, he would come right at the edge of evening, sun slowly dying beyond the horizon of the Pacific Ocean.

Sometimes he came with his friends, Hoseok and Jin. They would aimlessly roam around on their boards, laughing if one fell and trying to outmaneuver each other, laughter echoing down the expanse of water and sand.

Jeon Jungkook loved the beach as much as you did. And you worshiped him for it.

You often watched the boy for hours, as he attempted to move through each wave perfectly, gliding against the water like it was glass. He was graceful, so impeccably poised on the top of each crested wave.

It wasn’t fair that he could be so perfect in and out of the water.

It wasn’t fair that he rarely gave you a passing glance.

“You’ll catch flies in your mouth if you keep staring at him like that,” Taehyung spoke, saddling up next to you and leaning against the wood of the lifeguard shack.

You shook your head and quickly closed your mouth. You didn’t know it had opened in amazement as you stared at the lithe surfer.

Taehyung chuckled, rolling his eyes at his best friend. “You’re ridiculous.”

You elbowed him and turned away from the shoreline, focusing your attention directly on your best friend and most certainly not on the tall, handsome, fit surfer gliding over the waves.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about,” you sniffed. “I was monitoring the shoreline for potential dangers, Kim Taehyung. That is my job as a lifeguard.”

He laughed again, his low baritone comforting. “Sure, babe,” he sighed. “Definitely not drooling over Jungkook, I believe you.”

Taehyung knew all about the crush you harbored on the surfer ever since you first saw him 3 summers ago at the start of your lifeguard career. You remembered your first day with your best friend.

“Who is that?” You had asked, watching the man shoving at his friends jokingly, and paddling beside them through the water. Taehyung had only laughed in reply. “Really?” He asked, surprised. “That’s Jeon Jungkook. He’s going professional soon, most likely.”

Your eyes never once left the boy again, always seeking him out along the shoreline, missing him when he took a day off from his practice and training.

Since that day, Taehyung made it a point to tease you about your unrequited crush on the boy, and always in not-so-subtle language told you you deserved better than the fuckboy surfing god.

You weren’t naïve to the fact that wherever Jungkook went, a gaggle of bikini-clad gorgeous women followed. You weren’t foolish enough not to notice the smirks and winks he shot at them, desperately wishing that it was you.

Taehyung grumbled about the muscled surfer, stating that all he would do is fuck you over and break your heart, and couldn’t you just date someone nice like his cousin Namjoon?

Taehyung seemed to be in such a mood that day, too.

“I still can’t understand what you see in him,” he groused. “Sure, I guess he’s good looking, but he seems like such a player. Jimin told me he saw him take that Jennie girl behind the cabanas last weekend.”

Your heart sagged, feeling defeated at his words. Jennie was beautiful. Tall, thin and gorgeous. Surely, that was Jungkook’s type. Jungkook’s type was definitely not lifeguard’s wearing red spandex one-pieces a la Baywatch, without the ample bosom. Well, maybe some bosom, but nothing compared to the women flocking the young surfer from the shore.

You bit your lip and shrugged at your best friend, ignoring the shot in your heart at imagining Jungkook with someone, anyone, but you.

“He’s nice,” you murmured. Not that you would really know. The man had spoken four sentences to you in the 3 years you’ve worked as a lifeguard, and most of those were asking about where a trash can was. “And he’s so talented. He loves the ocean, you can tell,” you sighed, resting your head on your hand as you watched him from the ledge of the lifeguard shack.

Jungkook was especially in the zone that day, eyebrows drawn tight in concentration as he cut through the curve of the tube of water. He seemed to practice more intently recently, the National Surfing Tournament was quickly approaching. Jungkook was one of the best surfer’s in the nation and had recently gone professional. You were sure he was eager to score more branding deals and secure his spot on the international scene.

“Namjoon is nice! Much nicer!” Taehyung was incensed. “Passionate too, and not an asshole!”

Taehyung was determined to set you up with his cousin, Kim Namjoon. Tae wasn’t wrong, Namjoon was nice. He was shy, quiet, intelligent and sweet. He was passionate about physics, math, science, and had earned a full-ride scholarship to the country’s most prestigious scientific university.

Maybe, if you hadn’t met Jungkook, you’d give Namjoon a shot. Unfortunately for the elder Kim cousin, no one could compare to Jungkook, regardless of how unlikely it was for him to ever glance your way.

“Yes, Tae,” you sighed. “Namjoon is very passionate… about engineering.”

“Hey! Engineering is a respectable profession, unlike professional surfing,” he sneered, as if the word tasted dirty in his mouth.

You patted the brown-haired boy’s arm and smiled at him, not wanting to upset him further about his beloved cousin.

“It’s just a stupid crush, Tae, okay?” You reassured. “It’s not like Jungkook even knows who I am except for the girl who knows where to throw trash away.”

Taehyung nodded and squeezed your arm. “Anyway, are you going to the tournament pre-party next weekend?” He asked, a shy blush spreading across his cheeks. “Jimin asked me to go with him.”

You had almost forgotten, so focused on the tournament itself and watching Jungkook prepare harder each day. You almost had his moves memorized by how often you watched. The tournament pre-party was a few nights before the big day, a way for the surfers, fans and locals alike to party and celebrate. The entire community of young adults in the area communed on the beach for bonfires, too much alcohol, volleyball, and countless summer frivolities.

“Oh,” you breathed, eyes zeroing in again on the tall surfer of your affections. You knew it was hopeless to think Jungkook would ask you, but you couldn’t help the ache in your heart that desperately wanted him to. “I forgot.”

Taehyung’s eyes lit up. “You don’t have anyone to take you?” He asked an ulterior motive on his mind.

“I had someone in mind…” you sighed. Jungkook appeared exhausted, finally seated on the surface of his board, panting hard. “But, no, no one has asked me.”

Taehyung smirked a devious grin. You barely noticed, because of a cute pink-haired lifeguard appearing on the sand below you.

“Oh, hi Jimin!” You called to the cherubic boy below. “Are you here to see your lover?”

Jimin and Tae simultaneously turned a deep shade of crimson. Christ, they were perfect for each other.

“Hi, Jimin,” Tae smiled shyly. “What are you doing here?”

“I came to bring you lunch,” Jimin’s teeth caught his bottom lip anxiously. “You too.” He smiled at you and held up the paper bag, earning a squeak of delight from your best friend as he tugged you down the stairs to greet his crush and receive his treats.

“Where’s ours, Jimin?” A new voice called.

Three heads whipped around to investigate the voice. It was Kim Seokjin, a teasing grin on his face. He was flanked by Jung Hoseok, and none other than Jeon Jungkook. You felt as if someone had sucked the air out of you with a vacuum.

Jimin blushed again, looking out at the men approaching the lifeguard station, dripping wet, half stripped out of their wetsuits, and exhausted.

“Sorry, Jinnie! I didn’t realize you guys were here.” He hugged Jin with one arm, causing Tae to raise an eyebrow at the exchange.

Jimin seemed to notice the confusion and hurried to explain. “This is Jin! My neighbor! We grew up together.” Taehyung visibly relaxed. “And this is Hoseok and Jungkook, his best friends.” The boys waved at you two, and you prayed your hair looked decent today. A hand reached up to press down on your tresses, just in case.

“I’m Taehyung!” Your best friend spoke, happy demeanor quickly re-appearing as he recognized Jin was not a threat. “And this is my best friend, Y/N!”

You willed your cheeks not to flare red as the men took you in. You wore your standard issue red Speedo swimsuit, accentuating your thicker hips and thighs from years of gymnastics, and clinging to your chest. Fuck, did you look okay? Your one chance to impress Jungkook and you were wholly unprepared. Your arms crossed over your chest, hiding your body behind your arms.

However, you smiled at the men, watching as Jin and Hoseok smirked at you and Jungkook’s face remained impassive.

“Yeah, I’ve seen you around,” Jungkook added. “You guys are always here.”

“Well,” you gulped. “Someone’s gotta… guard those lives…” Really? What the fuck kind of joke was that?

It was silent for a beat, before Seokjin burst into uncontrollable laughter.

“Oh, I like you!” He joked as he wrapped an arm around your shoulders. “A woman after my own heart.”

Jin’s friends rolled their eyes at the older man’s antics. Jin was known for his lame jokes, Jimin explained to you.

“You guys are going to the party next weekend, right?” Jimin asked the male trio, moving to stand near Tae. Tae grinned at the boy as they linked hands.

The boys exchanged looks with each other. “Yeah,” Hoseok replied. “I’m taking my boyfriend, Yoongi and Jin is taking our friend June.”

Tae smiled back at the group. “Jimin and I are going together!” He was excited, it was palpable. The pair were tooth-rotting cute and the rest of the party smiled at how endearing the budding romance was.

“What about you?” Jin asked, peering in your direction. “Who’s lucky enough to take you?”

You flushed and stammered, unable to croak out the words.

Tae, thankfully, took over. “She forgot about it. She hasn’t found anyone yet.”

Jin’s face lit up, and he nudged you gently in the ribs. “Jungkook doesn’t have anyone to go with, either! You two should go together!”

Your face flushed immediately, and you shot your eyes to Jungkook, who laughed out loud with a blush on his face.

“What?!” He yelped. “No, no!” he stammered. “I uh… I’m going with Jennie!”

You felt your heart rip at the seams, and Taehyung clenched his fist in anger.

Jin narrowed his eyes in suspicion. “You told us she’s a bad kisser, and that she was rude.”

“No!” Jungkook yelled. “She’s great! It’s fine! Oh, uhh… my mom’s here, gotta go!” He tore off towards the parking lot, leaving you in your dust and broken heart.

Hoseok lifted a brow and looked at Jin. “Doesn’t his mom live like… 4 hours away?”

Jin just laughed and shrugged, leaning in to give Jimin a goodbye hug. “Sorry about that! Jungkook is a little edgy.”

Taehyung grumbled under his breath and Jimin moved to quickly cover it up.

“It’s fine!” he assuaged. “No harm!” He chuckled nervously, stealing you a glance. He could tell by the broken puppy dog eyes on your face that there was certainly harm.

Taehyung was irate. “Yeah! She’s going with Kim Namjoon, anyway!” You whipped your head to him, incredulous and confused. He stared back at you, resolute.

You groaned, lowering your head to stare at your sandy feet.

“Oh, yeah?” Jin asked, ears perking up. “That delicious-...err… I mean, intelligent engineer guy?”

Taehyung, oblivious to Jin’s careful re-wording, nodded. “Yeah! He’s totally a catch, and he’s lucky to be going with her.”

Jin nodded and smiled at you, wrapping an arm around your shoulder. “Definitely.” He chanced a glance at you, and could tell by the look on your face you felt otherwise. He leaned to your ear and whispered only for you to hear, “If you find out he bats for the other team, will you let me know?”

Jin was good in your book. You giggled at the older boy and nodded, before peering back at your best friend’s confused gaze.

“Well, we better go! Looks like we’ve been ditched for some… mom time,” he motioned towards the parking lot that Jungkook fled to and gazed back at Hoseok. “Let’s head out?”

Hoseok nodded, and you murmured your farewells to both, and laughed silently as Jin winked at you.

“I can’t believe it,” Taehyung kicked at the sand after the duo left. “What an asshole! He was so rude! I knew he wasn’t good enough for you.”

You had momentarily forgotten about the rejection, too caught up in Jin’s obvious interest in your apparent new date to the party. Right. The new date because Jungkook couldn’t even fathom you on his arm; it was laughable to him. Ouch.

Jimin approached you and wrapped you in his arms. “Sorry, love,” he murmured as his date kicked angrily at the sand, cursing Jeon Jungkook’s name. “He really is an idiot.”

Taehyung put himself back together and hugged the two of you tight. “Joonie will be excited to take you,” he replied with a grin wide on his face.

You groaned. “Can’t wait.”

“Jeon Jungkook, what the hell is wrong with you!?” Kim Seokjin shrieked as he walked into the parking lot and found the surfer sitting on the edge at a soft thatch of grass, surfboard haphazardly laid next to him.

Jungkook winced, knowing the lecture would come from his oldest friend.

“I’m sorry!” he started, looking up at the man with pleading eyes. “I just-... I don’t-...” he was at a loss for words, unable to explain his behavior.

He sighed and looked back down at his feet. Why had he reacted so negatively? He barely even knew the girl, but had been so overwhelmed by the sight of her in her red swimsuit and cute braided hair, and Jin suddenly;y suggesting they go to the party together. He was flustered.

“I don’t even know her! I think I asked her once about a fucking trashcan! Why would she want to go with someone she doesn’t know?” He complained.

Jin rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, the picture of motherly scorn. “You could have gotten to know her on the fucking DATE!” he snapped. “Instead, you laughed in the poor girl’s face! She looked like a kicked puppy.”

Jungkook winced and rubbed at his ocean-burned eyes, feeling a headache beginning in his temples. “I’m sorry!” he exasperated. “I’ll apologize sometime! I’ll ask her to go with me!”

Jungkook supposed he really wouldn’t mind having the lifeguard on his arm at the party. She filled out her swimsuit nicely and had a gorgeous smile. She was shy, it seemed, but he supposed that wasn’t so bad. He mentally kicked himself for reacting so harshly.

“Too late,” Hoseok chimed in. “She’s going with Kim Namjoon.”

At the name, Jungkook snapped his eyes to Jin, who huffed. “If he falls in love with her and not me at this party, I’m shoving your surfboard up your ass.”

Spending your days at the lifeguard shack was easier said than done after Jungkook’s blatant rejection. Your eyes followed him constantly, watching as he practiced each turn, tube ride, and off-the-lip. He practiced constantly, nearly 7 hours a day. He only took breaks to come to shore to eat and drink water and occasionally scurry off to the bathroom. You desperately wanted to turn away, the sight of him at all causing your heart to clench. But you were powerless, utterly unable to avoid the magnetism that was Jeon Jungkook.

Your shifts switched between partnering with Jimin and Taehyung, both trying to do anything in their power to lift your spirits. Taehyung chattered away between how excited he was to go with Jimin, and how great it would be to see you and Namjoon together. Jimin avoided any topic of Jungkook or Namjoon and simply discussed what you would wear to the party and flicked through various websites on his phone with you to determine.

Jimin yipped with excitement. “Look at this one,” he swooned, shoving his phone under your nose. “You’d look so good!”

You glanced at the screen, a golden bikini top in the frame. It cupped the model’s chest nicely, allowing ample cleavage, and wrapping around the neck with a halter tie. It was beautiful, shimmery and trendy.

“I dunno,” you sighed. “Can I pull that off?”

Jimin smirked. “I’m sure Namjoon could pull it off you.”

“Oh god,” you snorted. “Not you too! Plus, I think Seokjin likes him.”

Jimin hummed. “Well, I think you should still get it. Wear it with a cute tight skirt!” His face was lit up. You couldn’t deny the boy. “Plus, you’ll make stupid Jungkook regret his decision.”

Your face fell at the name. Jimin internally slapped himself for bringing him up.

“I’m sorry, bub,” he whispered, taking your hand in his. “He really is an idiot for what he did to you.”

You smiled at Jimin, willing yourself not to cry at work. “Thanks, Jimin,” you sighed. “It’s okay. I’ll buy it! It will look great.” You mostly bought it to ensure Jimin didn’t feel too guilty, but also because it would likely make your tits look great, and you could use some revenge on the surfer.

The pink-haired boy happily clicked the ‘buy’ button, and you entered your card information, thankful that the package would arrive a few days before the party.

You and Jimin settled into an easy conversation, discussing his and Taehyung’s date. The lithe little lifeguard regaled you with his grand romantic gestures that he planned to surprise Taehyung and officially ask him to be his boyfriend. It was cute, and your best friend definitely deserved the adoration. But it was acutely making your heart clench in jealousy and sadness.

You glanced at your watch, noting the time. “Hey, I’m going to go walk down the and do shore checks,” you smiled as you grabbed your long white life preserver and slipped ray bans on your eyes. Jimin nodded and spritzed you with sunblock before you made your way out the door.

The walk down the shore was a practiced one. Your eyes scanned over the surface of the water, trained to spot anything wrong or dangerous. You knelt down to apply a band-aid to a little boy’s scraped knee and picked up trash that a seagull would surely choke on. It was easy to busy yourself with minimal tasks and keeping an active eye for danger on the horizon.

The distractions were very welcome, and your mind flittered comfortably around and never landed on the topic of a certain tall, fit surfer.

Until he was standing right in front of you, your body colliding into his.

“Fuck!” you exclaimed. “Sorry!” You stood and dusted off; you had fallen directly onto the sand on your ass. You looked at the large person standing in front of you and felt your heart sink.

“I was calling your name for like...4 minutes,” he said amused. “Aren’t lifeguards supposed to be paying attention?”

You blushed and crossed your arms over your chest, huffing. “What do you want?”

Okay, you were a little short, a little rude. But the man laughed at the idea of being seen with you! He deserved at least a little of it.

Jungkook blanched at the tone of your voice. “I’m- uh,” he struggled to find words. “I just wanted to tell you I’m sorry.” He nibbled at his lip. “About the other day. And for knocking you over just now.”

You crossed your arms tighter against your chest and lifted your sunglasses up your face to rest on your head. “You were an asshole,” you mumbled.

He rubbed at the back of his neck anxiously. “I know, yeah,” he swallowed harshly. “I guess they caught me off guard and didn’t know what to say. Are you still going alone?”

You paused, unsure how to respond. To tell him about your fake date with Namjoon, or not.

“No,” you sighed. “I’m going with Kim Namjoon.”

Jungkook scoffed. “That nerd!?” You felt your eyes narrow. Only you got to call Namjoon a nerd, maybe Seokjin too, but not Jungkook, and not in that tone. “I wanted to ask you if you would go with me. Jennie’s already got someone else.”

“Oh, so I’m the second choice now?” You lifted an eyebrow, and he hurried to explain.

“No! Well, yeah!” He was fucking up, he knew it. “But not in a bad way!” God, Jungkook wished he could punch himself out cold so he could stop this train wreck. He felt like such an idiot.

“How is it not a bad way, Jungkook?” You asked, annoyance and hurt rising steadily.

“Nevermind! It’s fine,” he huffed, angry at himself and allowing it to come out on you. “I was just thinking you’d be eager to ditch the dweeb and be the lucky lady on my arm.”

How in the world did he think that was okay to say? You glared at him for a moment.

“You’re a fucking asshole,” you bit. “I’m the lucky one!? You should feel lucky that I even listened to your shit apology, let alone entertain the thought of going to the party with you!”

You continued your rant and Jungkook wished the earth would swallow him. Why was it so hard to talk to you like a normal fucking human?

“Namjoon is polite, and sweet and smart and not a fucking bully who thinks he’s better than everyone!” you yelled, aware that passersby were watching the scene unfold. A lifeguard yelling at a professional surfer, how charming. “And he’s the lucky one because I’m fucking great!”

“So you can have your fucking apology and go to the party alone, you absolute asswipe!” With that, you turned around and stormed back to the lifeguard tower, stewing in your mixed anger and grief.

You were suddenly very grateful to wear that golden bikini, eager to rub just exactly what Jungkook lost out on in his face.

The weekend of the party came quickly, far quicker than you were ready for. As much as you enjoyed Namjoon’s company, it was still a little awkward. Even more so now that you knew Seokjin, your newest friend, held a candle for the tall genius.

Taehyung sat on your bed as you finished applying makeup, a bronzy yet natural look. Taehyung wore short shorts and a tank, showing off his impossibly toned and tanned arms and thighs. He looked fantastic and knew that Jimin would salivate at the sight.

“You look incredible, bubby,” Tae smiled as he stood behind you and helped secure the necklace you were fumbling with. “Namjoon is a lucky man.”

You flushed, not wanting to burst Taehyung’s bubble regarding your platonic feelings towards his cousin. “Thanks, Taetae.”

You glanced at your finished look in the long mirror as Tae stood behind you and rubbed your shoulders. The golden bikini top wrapped around your body seamlessly, lifting your breasts with ample cleavage and complimenting your lifeguard tan.

You wore a short and tight, high-waisted denim skirt and simple sandals you could easily slip off once in the sand. It different from the 70s vibe of your normal lifeguard outfit. Your hair fell down in curls, rather than held up in braids or a bun, and makeup adorned your tanned features. Not bad, you smirked.

Taehyung hugged you from behind, but jumped as the doorbell rang.

“Oh! That's Joonie!” He quickly scuttled away.

You took a deep breath, summoned every ounce of courage and walked out to meet your date.

Namjoon smiled kindly at you, wearing a sensible pair of knee-length jean shorts and a designer tee.

“You look amazing!” he smiled as you grabbed a sweater in case it got too cold. A bikini only gave so much coverage against wind.

“Thanks Joon,” you replied. “You too.”

Tae sighed as if watching a romantic movie. “Oh my sweet little lovebirds,” you rolled your eyes. “Go have fun! Namjoon, you take care of her!” He wagged his finger in his cousin's face. “I know where you live!”

You and Namjoon laughed at his antics.

“Okay bub, that’s enough,” you hugged your best friend. “Go get your man.”

He kissed both your cheeks and hugged his tall cousin. “Hopefully by the end of tonight, he will be my man.” He winked before slipping out the door.

“He’s too much, sometimes,” Namjoon chuckled. You nodded as you opened the front door for him.

“Don’t blame me, he’s your cousin,” you teased, and the pair of you left towards the beach.

You heard the music of the party before you saw it. You and Namjoon had been chatting easily as you walked the few blocks to the beach. His conversation helped quell the anxiety growing in your stomach. Jungkook would be there. You were still so mad at him, and yet still undeniably attracted to the popular surfer. It frustrated you he gave you every reason not to like him and still, your brain resisted.

“Wow, it looks wild,” Namjoon breathed as you approached the crowd. There were groups of people everywhere, each in various states of beachwear and undress.

You nodded, eyes peering around for any familiar face. You quickly spotted Jin with his date, a cute and petite brunette, along with Hoseok and Yoongi. Thankfully, Jungkook was nowhere to be seen. Jin and his crowd quickly made their way towards you.

“My princess!” He exclaimed as he wrapped his arms around you. He tucked his lips by your ear and whispered, “So, you think I got a chance?” You turned to smile at him and shrugged.

“He didn’t seem to care about my tits,” you surmised. Not that it meant he was gay, but since Seokjin seemed to grasp at straws, so did you.

“How unfair to you!” he faux-gasped. “You could see these puppies from space!” He patted your shoulders and looked at the tall genius.

Namjoon’s eyes were glued to Seokjin, transfixed. Jin stuck his hand out towards him.

“Hi, I’m Seokjin. But you can call me Jin,” he mewled, eyes giving off blatant ‘come hither’ vibes.

Namjoon licked his lips and slowly extended his own hand. “Namjoon,” he replied.

Jin grinned. “I know,” he teased. “You’re the local Einstein.”

Namjoon flushed, and you nudged Jin, asking to take it easy on the boy.
