When did you start writing?

I don’t actually remember! I was a desperately weird and introverted kid (surprise) and I read voraciously, all the time, so I also started writing really early. Stories, plays, poems, comics, whatever. I also kept a meticulous diary when I was in high school, and I’m so glad I did because it’s so fucking funny to read now. Teenage Paloma had a lot going on, to put it kindly

Are there different themes or genres you enjoy reading than what you write?

Have I watched Supernatural? No. Have I been an insatiable consumer of Destiel fanfiction for years? Absolutely. I gave a PowerPoint presentation to my book club once titled “All the best romance novels are Supernatural fanfiction,” and I stand by that thesis. I don’t care. Those babes were cooking.

Like, I’m sorry, the soulmate AU trope is never going to get better than Don’t Look Back by @goldenraeofsun. It’s just not. No one is ever going to write an academic romance as compelling as And This, Your Living Kiss by @asecretvice. If you haven’t poked around that part of Ao3 because you don’t watch the show, I beg you to get in there because treasures await ye

Is there a writer you want to emulate or get compared to often?

This isn’t going to make a ton of sense outside of my own brain, probably, but my goal is always to write prose that feels the way Ada Limón’s poems make me feel. She’s really frank without being unserious, and I love the way she creates imagery without telling you she’s doing it.

Also, this weekend, I read a Tessa Dare historical romance while I was on the beach, and I loved it! It was so fun, but not at the expense of the plot, and the supporting characters were so funny without getting in the way. A masterclass in froth.

Can you tell me a bit about your writing space?

At home, I write in bed with my laptop on my lap and a can of seltzer within reach at all times. Sometimes I go to a cafe near my house, but I’m always worried someone will look over my shoulder and see what I’m writing and post me for cringe on TikTok or something. Which, now that I’m typing it out, is maybe a stupid thing to worry about

What's your most effective way to muster up a muse?

I have a couple recs!

1. Go for a biiiiiig walk. Listen to classical music, nothing with words. Don’t try to think too hard. It’ll come.

2. Read something you find genuinely terrible. You’ll get so mad that you’ll start thinking of ways you could have done it better. For me, this is usually the book Haunting Adeline, which for whatever reason activates every “um actually” in my body at once

3. Type up something deeply unserious that you have no intention of publishing. Chances are you’ll end up loving it in the rewrite and post it. This is how that Rolan fic of mine got made

Are there any recurring themes in your writing? Do they surprise you?

Oh god, yeah, and oh god, yeah. I’ve learned a lot. Some of it’s actually been helpful in therapy, like how I keep writing about overcoming domestic violence trauma. Some of it has been discovering, in a very public way that I can’t undo, that I’m into choking. We do not have the dignity of choosing how enlightenment comes to us

What is your reason for writing?

It’s for fun. It’s all for fun. I am having such a fucking good time.

Is there any specific comment or type of comment you find particularly motivating?

I love when people talk back and forth with me! And I love love looooooove when people tell me how something made them feel. Or when someone points out a literary device I was proud of. If there’s a quote, too? I’m dead. I’ve died.

Writing is fun, but it’s solitary. It’s so motivating to have people who are willing to step into my little universe with me and talk about it. I’m extraordinarily lucky.

How do you want to be thought about by your readers?

I want people to see me as someone who shares their enthusiasm, ultimately. We’re all here for the same reason, and it’s That Fucking Wizard.

What do you feel is your greatest strength as a writer?

My voice is really distinctive! My friends have always been able to pick out my writing, even in anonymized settings, and I think that’s neat

How do you feel about your own writing?

It’s been a long way getting here, but I view my writing as a thing I made, that I liked making, that I now have no ownership over. Once it’s out, it’s not mine anymore, it’s the reader’s. And that’s a good thing! Everyone brings their own rich experiences to everything they read. Interpretation is amazing, even for something as prima facie trivial as video game erotica. When people tell me how they related to or analyzed something I wrote, it’s like I get to read my own story again.

“You sure this is enough food, Eddie?”

You’re teasing him, and you know he knows that, which is why he rolls his eyes with a smile on his face as he opens a bag of chips to pour into a bowl.

“You laugh now, but when you see how much food those little shits can put away, you’ll understand,” he tells you. He scrunches the empty bag in his hands before he throws it in the garbage bin under the kitchen sink. The kitchen counter, as well as the table, are all covered in various kinds of snacks, from chips to cookies to candy. Eddie’s also got beers in the fridge for him (and maybe Steve, but if Steve’s driving he probably won’t have any, which you know Eddie is counting on so he can have more for himself), along with juice and pop. A feast fit for a king, he’d told you when he called you earlier that morning and asked you to pick up a few things on your way over to his place.

Today is the day that Eddie is going to be teaching you, Robin, and Steve how to play Dungeons and Dragons.

He’s so proud of himself for finally being able to talk the three of you into it. This is what he told you would be a one-shot; a one-off adventure that’s only supposed to take a few hours, something that’ll let you get your feet wet and understand how things work before you join a campaign. Eddie had tasked you with creating your own characters, giving you a list of options and some basic ideas for backstory. He’d also invited some of the kids to join in too—you knew Dustin and Erica would be coming for sure, and you’d bet that Lucas, Mike, and Will would probably tag along too.

Since there were going to be that many people joining in, Eddie had asked you to come by early to help him set up. Wayne is out of town on a fishing trip, so you’ve all got the trailer to yourselves. It didn’t take long for you to help Eddie with some spot cleaning in the living room when you’d gotten there, last minute snacks and drinks in hand, and then you’d set up the new coffee table so that everyone could sit around it and play. While Eddie was bringing out his maps and books and gaming screen and shooing Ozzy away from knocking over his miniature figures, you were placing cushions and blankets on the floor to make it as cozy as possible.

Once you’d finished that the two of you had gotten all the snacks ready. And now that was done, the two of you could relax and spend some time together until the others got there. Which may be part of the reason you agreed to come over early; you enjoyed spending time with Eddie, especially when it was just the two of you, and you figured this would be no exception.

Your crush on Eddie was kind of an open secret, though neither of you had ever done anything about it. You’d always been kind of unsure as to whether he felt the same way; sometimes he’d flirt back, sometimes he’d ignore it altogether. But he never complained and never once told you he was uncomfortable, though you’d never really talked about it in detail. You hoped that one day you might cross the line you’d been toeing at for the last few years, but given how open you’ve been, you wanted to let Eddie take that leap, let him decide when he’s ready. If he ever is. You hope he will be.

But for now, you grab a glass of water for yourself and Eddie cracks open a beer.

“Hey, lemme see your character information before everyone else gets here,” he says, taking a long drink before putting his beer down, and making a grabby hands gesture towards you.

“I thought you wanted everyone to wait to introduce their characters when we start.” That was what he’d told you before, and Steve and Robin had confirmed he’d told them the same thing when the three of you had gotten together to try and come up with characters so that you didn’t accidentally all choose the same thing. Not that you’d told Eddie you did that, though Steve probably ended up telling Dustin.

“Yeah, but you’re different,” he insists, and you feel your cheeks get warm as you smile and roll your eyes. You go and grab your bag to fish out the notebook you’d done all your writing and planning in; once you’ve got it, you put your bag back and hand it to Eddie. He starts thumbing through the pages, scanning over what you’d written while he hums to himself. He doesn’t make any comments out loud, though, and the longer he goes without saying anything the more self-conscious you start to feel. Does he love it? Hate it? You can’t tell based on his expression, though you see the way that one of his legs is bouncing, which means he’s thinking.

“What, never seen a character that good before?” you ask, your tone teasing as you break the silence between you. Eddie’s leg stops bouncing and he shakes his head.

“Oh, yes, this is a masterpiece. Shut up and let me read,” he says, no real heat in his voice as he rolls his eyes. You raise your eyebrows and lift the corners of your lips up into a smirk.

“Maybe you should make me,” you tell him, the words rolling off your tongue as you lean against the counter. You’re absolutely aware of how it sounds, and by the way that Eddie’s cheeks start turning a bright pink you know he is, too. You can’t help yourself, though, because you do love flirting with him. Even if it goes nowhere. His leg stops bouncing, and you see him grip your notebook just a little bit tighter in his hands. He doesn’t look up, though. It’s silent for a moment until he clears his throat.

“You know, that sounds like you’re flirting with me,” Eddie says. He seems to be maybe a little confused, or maybe he’s teasing you. Does he not know that you really were flirting with him? You wish he’d look up so you could see his eyes; they’re always so expressive, showing off what he tries to hide, but you can’t see them now. And so now you’ve got a choice: you can deny it, or you can admit it. And you aren’t quite sure how he’d react to either option.

Well… this could be the opportunity you’ve been waiting for, so you say, “...I’ve been trying to do that for three years now.”

This time, Eddie drops your notebook. It hits the ground and a few loose pages flit out to land by your feet. He looks up at you, brown eyes impossibly wide as his mouth hangs open just a bit. You straighten up from where you’re leaning on the counter, feeling nerves start to creep in. This wasn’t the reaction you were expecting.

“Wait, I’m sorry, how long?” he asks, but doesn’t wait for you to answer before he continues with, “Three years?” He seems to be in complete shock, and while you’re feeling nervous, you’re also a tiny bit offended.

“Did you really not know?” Was your flirting really that bad? You didn’t think so, at least not until now. Robin and Steve could tell you were flirting with Eddie, with how much they’d teased you about it once they’d figured it out, and you were pretty sure some of the others you both hung around with knew too. How did Eddie not pick up on it? Steve said the guy was dense, sure, but you’d always thought it was an exaggeration.

“I thought you did that with everyone!” Eddie’s throwing his hands in the air, the apples of his cheeks going from pink to red and the blush starts creeping down his neck. It’s cute, but it’s probably not the time to tell him that.

“No, just you!” Which is the truth; you didn’t flirt with anyone else the way you did with Eddie, at least not on purpose. But apparently he hadn’t picked up on that.

“Oh my god,” he says, and his hands come down to tangle in his thick, black curls. He starts muttering it to himself, and the lack of a positive reaction is starting to eat at you. Your stomach twists because maybe this wasn’t a good idea. Maybe you’ve overstepped, here, and Eddie doesn’t feel the same way as you. Which would explain why you’ve spent the last three years, since the day he’d walked into your shared English class with a well-worn copy of The Hobbit and did his book report on how Tolkien had shaped modern fantasy. His passion, his eagerness, and the way he talked with his hands completely endeared him to you, and you’d asked him to explain the difference between hobbits and dwarves to you after class. That’s when it all started. But here, in his kitchen, seeing how Eddie is reacting, you wonder if maybe this wasn’t all some big mistake.

“Eddie, it’s fine that you don’t feel the same way, and I promise I’ll stop now that I know it makes you uncomfortable,” you tell him, bending down to gather up your loose papers and shove them back into your notebook. You swallow past the large lump forming in your throat, a little embarrassed by it all as you stand back up. “I’m sorry. I… I should probably go before the others get here.” There’s no way you’re sticking around after this; you don’t know if you can spend the next few hours thinking about this with everyone else around.

“Wait!” Eddie’s exclamation takes you by surprise, and his hand reaches out to wrap around your wrist. His hand is warm, a reassuring weight that brings you out of your thoughts. You look at him, and while his cheeks are still red, he’s got a serious look on his face that you rarely get to see. “Sweetheart, I promise it doesn’t make me uncomfortable, I just can’t believe I didn’t notice before now. Please don’t leave.” Which loosens the lump, just a bit, and he tilts his head a little as he smiles at you. It’s a little bashful, his head ducking slightly. “Also, I never said I don’t feel the same way. Just so you know.”

“Sweetheart?” you ask, picking up on the new moniker he’s using. It’s cute, and it’s got your chest swelling with hope because maybe he does feel the way you do. He opens his mouth to reply when there’s a loud bang on the front door.

“Hey, Eddie, open up!” It’s Dustin Henderson, no doubt with the others behind him, and Eddie jumps just a bit.

“Shit! I hate Henderson’s timing,” he curses, and you can’t help the laugh that comes out at how Eddie’s face falls into a pout. Not that he’d ever admit to pouting, of course. “Look, we definitely need to talk about this, I want to talk about this, but if I don’t let them in, Henderson's gonna keep doing that til he breaks the door down.” Which wouldn’t surprise you. You nod, smiling at Eddie.

“Eddie! Open the damn door!” Dustin continues, banging louder this time.

“I’m gonna kill him.” Eddie lets go of your wrist, sighing. He raises his voice, yelling out, “Dustin Henderson, I will not hesitate to give you disadvantage on all your saves if you don’t give me a damn minute!”

Dustin immediately ceases his banging on the door, and instead lets out a frustrated yell before he falls silent.

“We’ll talk after the game, okay, sweetheart? I promise on my honour as Eddie the Banished, Master of Dungeons, that we’ll talk and you can flirt as much as you want, as long as I can flirt back.”

“If you know how to flirt back,” you tell him, and he lets out the sweetest laugh you’ve ever heard as he walks over to the door to let in an angry Dustin, a grinning Robin, and the other exasperated members of the party.

Kelly is your normal done-with-life artist, after cutting ties with her family, she ventures off to a journey of art. Recently she has been having trouble painting due to artblock and her way of painting, receiving criticism from others on how "soulless" and "empty" her paintings are. There were many attempts on trying to fix that part of her but none were successful.

Until she created Keni.

Keni is a chibi-like blob original character of hers, and the little blob's presence truly makes a difference, giving life to her usually empty artworks.

However one day, a magical phenomenon happend and Keni was brought to life! Kelly was at first confused at the sudden phenomenon but she immediately accepted Keni in.

Keni is a bright and optimistic little girl, in contrast to her creator. Her small size never once stopped her from doing anything she wants, whether it's helping Kelly clean around the house or get cookies from the highest cupboard.

Kelly feels especially maternal towards Keni, basically like her own child. Even if Keni may count as her own child.

These two venture around the world exploring new areas, trying new art technique, meeting new people (well that's Keni's doing), maybe meeting a few people of various sizes! Who knows?

I may or may not post about them much BUT i love my girls alot and they truly represents both sides of me (My silly goofy side in Keni and my dead-inside side in Kelly)

thank you for asking i have several. full disclosure i am kind of a hater in some of these. did not realize how much i had locked and loaded.

1. doesn’t need to be said but i’m saying it anyway. brown-eyed lance. if i don’t get that tag within a year i am rioting.

2. i LOOOOOOOVE modern aus. they are my bread and butter. i will read a thousand of them. i will WRITE a thousand of them. i love seeing a world built around the essence of these characters, and i love building them more. where would lance be, if he wasn’t in voltron? which of the characters are friends before the whole group finally connects? how do coran and allura fit? where do they work? where do they live? i love it. every decision is a confession.

3. i think everyone needs to have more fun with shiro and allura’s characters. for whatever reason (racism), people like to write them as the villains?? or as boring assholes who are incapable of fun and/or emotions?? anyways it’s the worst. let allura and shiro be stuoid and young and fun 2k23.

4. my favourite thing to write is weird, half analytical backstories/prequels for all the characters, and i love reading them too. what are their families like? what pets if their childhood shaped the way we see them now? who did they learn their habits from? i need to know everything. i have a specific hunk & lance fic i’m thinking about that was never finished, but that changed my entire perception of both of their characters forever. i am so nosy and people in this fandom who create these entire intricate backstories for these characters we already love are so important to me

5. keith’s fanon character in general lowkey pisses me off. i feel like people are OBSESSED with writing him very one dimensional??? like either this kind of mean emo or like tsundere blushing schoolgirl??? anyways it’s weird. keith loves his friends SO much. he cares about everyone everywhere all the time, he’s literally always thinking about what he can do to help people (or he’s being a dorky dumbass lol), he cares so much so often and so deeply. he tries his hardest and puts his all into everything. he loves hugs even though he’s awkward with it. he cries frequently. he wants a mom and at the same time he doesn’t. he loves his brother and his teammates. like??? please please PLEASE i’m begging y’all don’t do keith dirty okay

10. okay this used to be a big thing for me and i don’t write it much anymore (largely bc i don’t feel i’m very qualified too) but genderqueer lance is very important to me. genderqueer all of the team, honestly, i think we should fuck around with all of their shit, not just pidge! i read this one author who would make literally all of the teams trans & nb and it was awesome. nb hunk was something i never knew i needed but something that was so obviously true. i don’t write it too often bc i tend to make everyone very feminine (i love being a girl i love being a girl so so much it blows my mind that not everyone doesn’t want to be a girl all the time it’s AMAZING and thank you trans women for teaching me that), and i know it’s a genuine problem with over-feminization of queer characters in fanon so i don’t do it to often. but there are some amazing trans authors out there who fuck with the team’s gender beautifully and it’s a pleasure to read every single time!!

Reading the silmarillion for me was like: thingol and beren and luthien were horrible, horrible people, how can someone possibly like them? (LOL if you use this kind of word against the feanorians I can use it to describe the characters that you support. Happy, huh?) Probably someone's going to call me a feanorian apologist or something, and I oppose it. Like what do you mean by "apologist"? There actions were not wrong, and actually admirable, so there's completely no possibility for me to be an apologist.

Asking for someone else's creation as your own daughter's bride-price is just simply ridiculous and foolish. Regardless of how fucking pretty your daughter is. It is even more bitchy trying to emphasize how much effort b&l put into this whole thing in order to steal the silmaril.

The entire set of blame that Celegorm and Curufin received in N was just simply moral kidnapping. They did not have connections to beren. They had no responsibility of supporting the whole foolish bride-price thing or the childish stupid mary-sue love story between b&l. They raised their fair points that first of all, the silmaril was created by their father and belong to their family. Second, lauching an attack on morgoth at that time was not practical and stupid. (And there's no possibility that they know about the whole "pretty L is actually JRRT's wife so you know what she can achieve everything" thing.) These are their reasons opposing the whole bride-price practice, and standing in their shoes these reasons were very true and convincing.

Celegorm and Curufin's points might not be politically correct, I can even imagine a bitchy voice nagging "oh you sooooo bad~ how can you not support the looooooove story of b&l? how can you not just allow them to get your father's creation and satisfy their bossy father-in-law? ooooooooh you sooooooo bad." Literally these are the blames that they received. In my eyes, these are completely wrong and even laughable. I feel that C&C's courage of standing up against this foolish mary-sue story is extremely admirable and their actiosn are absolutely right. Sometimes we just need to jump out of those stereotypes fed into our mouths and form our own, independent thoughts.

what's your doctor who wtnv crossover like? 👀

i am so glad you asked! (category 7 adhd event to follow)

so our doctor is cecil (no assigned number since i didnt want to cram the wtnv characters into a doctor who plot line when it would be so easy to make a new one special for them (though cecil does come from a welsh surname meaning sixth (among other things) so he could replace the 6th doctor? it doesn’t matter either way)) and while his name is, as always, just ‘the Doctor’, he lets carlos call him cecil as a treat cause they’re in looooooove <33 (he used cecil palmer like john smith when they met and carlos really like the name (it’s so i don’t have to completely erase either ‘the doctor’ or ‘cecil’ and i think i’m awfully clever) anyways he’s like doctor-weird plus cecil-weird, because they’re all so fucking bizarre (affectionate) he kicks off the fic adjusting to the new body and i felt the need to acknowledge the fact that cecil is usamerican while the doctors generally are Not (is a good fic if you don’t slander your own accent a little bit?)

i considered making carlos the doctor, because he’s. you know. a scientist and not a silly goofy gay who works in community radio, but since so much of cecil’s story revolves around him not being quite as person as the rest of the people around him, about him losing track of his age and everything he’s been through, of him canonically dying multiple times, about his relationships with family and parenthood (etc) i just felt like it would be such a waste to not make him the doctor, yk? (i also considered changing up what it meant to be the doctor to include cecil’s title of ‘the voice’ but that felt like too much so we have doctor!cecil now)

so that means carlos is the companion, he’s introduced while studying the phantom ocean which was actually just like. a big weird alien fish. then they go to the dog park and the desert otherworld and have a bunch of doctor who-ified wtnv adventures together (like lee marvin‘a birthdays, the whispering forest, the auction, etc… but make it dr who sci-fi)

i know most of the actual episodes are the doctor saves his companion and Others, but i’m such a sucker for ‘the doctor needs help’ that i wrote in four chapters of carlos saving doctor!cecil (technically could be six, depends how you count it)

and we finish off with a daleks confrontation which takes place during the blood space wars, because you have to have the daleks at least once, and it’s a good cap on a fic

i’ve made it 13 chapters long, cause all the new who seasons are well. 13 episodes long. and i’m considering doing a (not-)christmas (because even though doctor!cecil wouldn’t be jewish it would be incredibly ethically fucked up if i just. chucked a canon jewish character into a christmas landscape w/out acknowledging it) special afterwards as is customary, to follow the bbc’s standards

i am literally so invested in this fic i’ve written the first three chapters so far and they’re all like double my usual length and i’m considering making them longer because i think there’s still more i could add.

It’s been a little while since a decent post from me so I just want to quick rant about how amazing An American Werewolf in London is.

I know this movie is like from 1981 and so I am probably going to be saying what so many critics have already said but idc I watched it finally in full (I’ve seen the whole thing but not in one full sitting) recently and I am just so in love with it.

The movie manages to be one of the best monster horrors, the best werewolf horror, and one of the best transformation/body horror with classic effects out there, all while being funny. The idea that you are haunted by everyone you kill as the wolf is such a brutal and horrible concept and I adore it so so so much. I love Jack and his attitude so much that even in death, even though he has the goal of convincing David to kill himself, he’s still able to sit with his friend and crack a joke or somewhat shoot the shit, unable to help himself with his best friend.

The transformation scenes are so disgustingly iconic they make me feel sick in the best way. I love that they showed you a longer and more brutal scene, but even the brief transformation in the adult theater is still grotesque by showing you his nails splitting open it’s so foul! I hate it! In a loving way!!!

Also I forgot how the doc Hirsch decided to play detective for literally no other reason than the greater good. Who would go out of their way to actually do that?? That ends up leaning into the comedy of it a little, for me—the absurdity of it.

The ending is also so iconic and good and creates a singular moment of wonder: was David even a werewolf at all?? Personally I think he was, there’s enough in the movie to show that werewolves are legitimate, but I appreciate the framing of Alex as she implores for David to come back to himself and he’s entirely off-frame. She’s strangely calm for seeing a wolf creature covered in blood—unless it’s NOT a wolf, but David, crouching and delirious. It’s a cool little “what if Hirsch is right and he’s just paranoid and mad” question?

I feel like they could have made the mystery to it stronger and found ways to bring it in stronger—for example I wish during all the victim scenes, I wish we never saw David or the wolf, but it was all entirely 1st person when he was “in the scene” so we never fully get confirmation of his appearance during the full moon. I also wish we had more time with the concept of the undead haunting the werewolf. Jack was great, I just wish we had more of him and more of the other victims, too.

I think Alex is certainly a product of her time, she’s well-written for what the purpose of her character is in the story, but I think we could have explored her more and maybe her fascination with David. Maybe she’s a bit of weirdo herself, it was sometimes implied that she’s into weird people and I got the vibe of falling for handsome patients, but I would have liked to learn a bit more about her in those regards. She’s more or less a vessel to get David from the hospital to a residence.

I looooooove the phone call David has at the end with his I believe little sister? I wish we got to know a bit more about his background, relationship to his family, etc. Because I’m a family man, that phone call tore at me, and I wish I had a bit more of it, but I also get if they didn’t want to get too grim since it was still a comedy.

Overall, amazing movie and a 1981 film having some of the best monster, transformation, and horror scenery of any movie is so shocking to me and makes me like hello step up to so many of the modern movies churned out nowadays.

100000/10, would recommend.

So, first of all, how dare you? There's no reason for the emotional whiplash I experienced reading this monstrosity (positive with all the love and respect in the world i promise) yet here i am... a further damaged woman lmfao

But forreal though, you have a great ability to pull emotions out of your readers and thats just amazing in my eyes, especially as a fellow writer myself :') theres nothing I love more than making the ppl who read my own fics suffer emotionally so congrats to you!

I love how you write everyone in the story, they are so incredibly flawed and fucked up and human that it just makes me shed a tear. Thats why MC frustrates the HELL out of me, even though I adore her. Her flaws make my ass itch but all i want for her is to heal and be happy in the end (same with the others! I be wanting to punch the shit outta them sometimes 😭)

ESPECIALLY Hongjoong cause my guy is just unhinged but i love his character the most honestly because unhinged is hot to me. Im still kicking my feet and twirling my hair lmao

The relationships are so real and just... messy. Messy messy in the best way. But i just have to cheer them all on.

That chapter when mc and yeosang banged I was quite literally going bonkers like HELLO?????????????? I didnt expect that but now i want more of it cause their dynamic (especially when it comes to wooyoung) is so juicy

MC is such a tragic character and I feel for her the most. I love how we started off thinking Jisung was this great person but turns out that hes a fucking lunatic. You, Caly literally manipulated us into thinking so, like how Jisung manipulated MC and idk if that was intentional or not but it was brilliant. And Hyunwoo turning out to be like *that* was a punch in the gut. MC being betrayed by the ppl she cared for so much makes her question everything on the crew, especially Hongjoong and that's why I cant be too frustrated with her lol

I dont want this ask to be so long cause i can go in about every little detail 😭 but youve dont such an amazing job. The world building is beautiful, and i dont rly read a lot of scifi like fictions set in space, but when i first got into ateez the first thing i thought of were pirates / space pirates and i even started my own fic with that premise bc i cant help myself but be self indulgent trash so 🤷🏼‍♀️ but thats beside the point

i'm so touched you think so, i really love evoking emotion out of the reader in my works and i'm glad that im effective in doing so <3 one of my goals from the start of writing moc was to create an mc who isn't always likable or enjoyable to read bc i find those sorts of stories unrealistic and sometimes boring, because even tho the setting is very much not real, having characters who do feel real has always been huge to me! i love creating characters who have peaks and valleys, who grow and stumble along the way, and to really show a journey of growth!! hongjoong is just. pure insanity at its finest LOL he's gonna take a lot to fix but we'll see!

i honestly had way too much fun writing that chapter too, i love love looooooove a good hatefuck and it was just too tempting to NOT do >.<

it was fully intentional to sort of bring the readers in on the manipulation yes hehe! i like playing my cards very close to my chest and not giving anything away until the absolute last second i can!!! i think you hit on something lots of people who want her to just give into hongjoong forget - she's experienced so much betrayal from the people she trusted most and that does really stick in the brain and cause lasting trauma, and our poor mc is deeply traumatized by many things that have happened to her! it only makes sense for her to be retaliating and distrustful of those around her in these circumstances!!

Of course it's Franletta related, but there is just such a softness to them on screen so if there's a way I can write them to captures those brief moments of affection in a simple glance, exchange, or touch, that's it for me!!! 🍦 What’s the sweetest fic you’ve created so far?

OMG that's hard bc I feel like that's kind of my whole thing lol. Which fic isn't just me writing the most sugar induced fluff 😆 UM I feel like it has to be a perfectly perfect gift? Like it just exudes the warmest vibes and I really enjoyed building this really sweet established relationship with Luty that still had it's challenges for them to overcome but still ultimately a happy story (and then throwing in adorable Franletta for good measure). A close second, I think is my franletta swimming lessons one-shot which was especially sweet given that it takes place in s1 when they are just so innocent and open-hearted, plus it has the most summery vibes.

🤩 Who is your favorite character to write?

Good question! I really have come to enjoy writing all of the Violetta characters. There's just certain facets of each of their personalities that make them so much fun to write (which is why I think I've written so much for them in particular out of all the dcla shows). Naty/Fran are both very me-based when I write them, but Ludmila and Camila can be so fun to write just because they are so silly and I love comedic characters. Also I realized how much I looooooove to write Chiara since writing my Chiarleste fic. Like she can be so over the top like a Ludmila/Cami, but I have an easier time getting into the depth of her character like Naty/Fran which makes her sort of my ultimate character to write <3

I don't like omegaverse, the trope just makes me kinda uncomfortable, even though I can see how, if executed well, it can be interesting and ambiguous to read and write. It's just not my thing and I mostly avoid it. But even I have to admit that reading your take on it is not only interesting but also enjoyable, just because you seem to have given it a lot of thought that isn't at all superficial and also because you seem so passionate about it, which I love! ♡

It’s perfectly understandable that a/b/o makes you uncomfortable! When its written wrong, it makes ME uncomfortable. I won’t touch a fic that flips the dynamics I enjoy. I don’t ever begrudge people for not liking the stuff I create, I’m writing it for me and people’ like me.

A/b/o is, and always will be, so so controversial. It is the marmite of fic tropes. Some people hate it, some are indifferent, and some, like me, LOOOOOOOVE it. It’s why I’m so passionate when I talk about it. It is at its core a trope created so that male slash pairings could experience societal and systemic sexism, with bonus werewolf tropes. It’s kinda dumb. Even I think it’s silly when I’m writing it.

But once you flip off that top crust I think there’s a rich opportunity to explore gender and sex expression without having to make a world up from scratch, or risk misrepresenting incredibly fragile topics. I’ve seen it argued before that a/b/o is transphobic and while I understand where those people are coming from, I believe they are categorically wrong. Through a/b/o I’ve seen greater acceptance and understanding of intersex anatomy, and it lets me, as a trans man, impart trauma and issues I experience in my life, on ‘cis’ men. It makes you feel less othered, not having to use the trans label to explore those things because often when writing trans characters I feel burdened to write in a way cis people won’t misrepresent… and sometimes I don’t want to?

Sometimes I want to write about men and heat cycles to impart my feelings about periods, I want to write male pregnancy without it being weird and laughed at. I want to write about how horrifying and gross it can be to feel damp when you don’t want to. How isolating it can feel to not fit with a societal standard of gender, and on the other side the euphoria of living authentically. I want to write about alphas thinking consciously about how their hormones effect others, or how some use that as a weapon. Or about omegas doing comfortable traditionally feminine things like nesting or seeking comfort without it being a big deal? I like writing about alphas who worry about being a slave to hormones, and omegas who are comfortable and confident in their bodies

And that’s just the dynamic part of it. A/b/o has such rich ties to other tropes, like how packs are real, tangible, found families. The soulmatism of scent bonds and bonding as a whole. How body language becomes so much more important that I get to write about it like everyone is living through my lens as an autistic person.

That’s why I guess it feels like I’ve put so much thought into peoples designations and how they relate to each other, cause I have! It’s so interesting; to play with the new webs created by packs and bonds and hormones. How they would effect F1 as a whole and inner team dynamics. It’s stupid but it’s also stupid FUN

And I also wanted to impart a lesson I was taught in my old fandom, which is that’s a/b/o shouldn’t be written without the slashes or not in all caps (ABO) as it is too close to the racial slur used against aboriginal Australians.
